Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes,
so turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged.
Part of our Swedish death cleaning plans means meeting the
entire path. We're cleaning up more than just the closets
and the garage, but it's the physical cleaning up of

(00:21):
everything in this tiny forest in South Charlotte, North Carolina.
I believe in nature and trust what nature does, but
when nature gets out of control, it needs to be
loved through changes and challenges caused by the effects of
the climate. The limbs on many of these trees need pruning,
and the forest floor has been met by huge fallen
skyscrapers that once painted the sky with unforgettable leaves dancing

(00:44):
with the breeze. The Swedish death cleaning it also means
the cleansing of your mind. This has been an amazing
journey through several decades of collecting to have to hold,
to become part of. But there comes a time when
it's time to let it go. In the beginning, I thought, ah,
this is just going to be a couple of weeks, right,

(01:05):
and then you realize we're talking about your entire life. Heyzero,
this is the daily mess, a chronological walk through in
everyday world. I am a daily writer, and documenting the
Swedish death cleaning is not only a reminder, but it
encourages you to continue looking deeper into what we are
holding too tight to let it go. This is the

(01:30):
daily mess, you know, between the two of us here,
I don't remember my mother warning me about the speed
of life. One minute it's nineteen ninety three, the next
it's twenty twenty three. As a daily writer, I fall
witness to the speed of life by the number of
pages untouched inside this journal. Most of these books take
me what maybe two months to fill two months that

(01:51):
feel like two hours. Yet if reading these pages, all
that's been lived presents itself as two months, it's physically there.
But there's a twist in the understanding. To go from
this particular date to a week later, it only takes
a couple of minutes, basically meaning one nine hour workday

(02:11):
can feel like a lifetime. But for some reason, seven
hours of sleep is nothing more than a blink of
an eye. It confuses our concept of time. We don't
respect its presence in our life now, through meditation and
a daily discipline of being present with mindfulness, time is
put in its place. Here's the thing. It's always going

(02:34):
to race, but being right here, right now, we are
in control of it. Right here, right now now. I'm
always asked, how is it that you're able to take
time and stall it. I went through a period of
my life where I thought, I'm going to find everything

(02:55):
boring to do, because when you're bored, time slows down.
The problem with that is is that time realized what
I was doing, and suddenly all of those things that
I was bored with they were moving just as fast
as that blink of an eye. Getting control of your mindfulness,
being present, being grateful, being right here right now requires

(03:18):
a lot of work. It's an understanding with the inner
core of who you are as a person. If what
you're doing is running through life, racing to get someplace,
I understand time is going to move very quickly. All
of those things that we think we've got to have
right now, it takes forever to get to. But once
you get your hands on it, who into the closet,

(03:40):
it goes and everything begins to stack up. I'm finding
things in this Swedish death cleaning that I've not seen
in over a decade. How sick is that? I don't
want to be a hoarder, and I don't qualify as
a hoarder. I'm just somebody who took time the time
to collect it all, but it's taking a lot of

(04:03):
time to get rid of it because in order to
do a Swedish death cleaning properly, you go through a
lot of mental states, because there's a big place in
your heart that wants to hold onto the memories because
time wasn't fair enough to give you more time to
be with it, Eye Marril. And that's the daily mess
