Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and good morning you too. How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Good morning? Great? How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Absolutely fantastic? Now getting I need to tell the two
of you I have experienced the full movie. I am
so in love with this storyline.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Ah, that's great.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Well, I'm gonna be very honest with you upfront here
that you know MTV always gives away the big award
for their MTV Movie Awards for the big Kiss of
the Year. I love what you guys did. And the
reason why I love that moment in this movie is
because it really does send out a message of hold off,
don't rush into anything, let it happen naturally. And that's
what this whole entire movie is about. Stop rushing, get

(00:40):
into the moment, and grow with the moment.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I could not agree more.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
I haven't heard it said that way, but I think
that is actually the most concise way that anybody has
said it. It's a really special film as a whole,
and I have to agree. I think this is my
fifth Christmas movie and my fifth time with this director
John Stimpson, and we looked at each other after the

(01:07):
moment where our two characters do indeed kiss. Spoilers, but
we looked at each other John and I and we
both were just like, is that the best one we've done?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Because it really was.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
I think the chemistry between Emma and Mitch really was
built throughout the entire film, and that moment in this
project is really, I don't know, it's really heartfelt, really special,
really great well.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Ryan playing the part of Mitch. There's such an even
balance and flow here, and I don't know if it's
because we've all become binge watching people where we want
a slower story. We really do get to know who
Mitch is and we get to embraces so that when
things do change, and I'm not going to spoil it here,
but when things happen in the movie, it's like I
get it. I'm okay, I'm still on team Mitch.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
Yes, good, thank you, I'm glad, and I'm glad to
read that way. Yeah, you know, I think I think
that's one of the great things about the story is
that even though it's Emma's story, we do really get
to know Mitch. We do really get to get a
sense of who he is, where he's coming from, what
his values are and morals are, and and that he
you know, he's conflicted because as much as he's still

(02:18):
in love with em.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
As much as he wants her to stay, he also
wants her to be happy.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
And I think he doesn't want to be responsible for,
you know, inflicting his will on her when it's her
life and ultimately it's your choice to make.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
And fortunately it does work out for him in the end.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
A Lada, you know, we assume and her Yeah, yeah,
so yeah, I think I think it's it was just,
it was just it was a lovely dance and it
was really well orchestrated.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Katie, amma inside that kitchen. First of all, I got
to tell you, I am a foodie. I am addicted
to cooking shows. The way that you guys present on
how to do the cherry pie, the pacing out, the
exploring and everything like that was so perfectly in tune
with every foodie on this planet. And if anything, you know,
forget that it's a Christmas movie, go watch it for
the foodie part of this movie.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Yes, one hundred percent, Yes, absolutely, I'm a foodie too.
I grew up in a restaurant family. My family has
Chinese restaurants in San Antonio, Texas. But I grew up
just feeling like the kitchen is the best room in
the house. That's where my entire family always is. I
think a lot of families can relate to that. And

(03:29):
I'm a baker myself, so a lot of the baking
sequences that were that were filmed as I'm making those
cherry pies.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Those were my favorite days on set.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
I kind of got to fulfill my childhood fantasy of
like having my own pretend cooking show and combining that
with my professional career as an actor.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
It was a really cool experience. And man, I love
terry Pie.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Please do not move. There's more with Katie and Ryan
coming up next movie A Wisconsin Christmas Pie. We are
back with Katie and Ryan. Ryan one of the things
that I fell in love with. And I don't know
if it's because I'm from the state of Montana and
we grew up in apple orchards and cherry orchards and things,
but I mean, I got to tell you that when
you guys stepped inside that that cherry orchard for the

(04:16):
first time, what was I doing. Was I watching the storyline?
Hell no, I was looking at how they pruned the trees,
and I say, whoever designed everything there? I mean they
pruned those trees looking so fine.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Yeah, we filmed at a real cherry orchard on location
in Door County, Wisconsin, so that really is a working farm.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
And yeah, they've proven them back pretty far.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
So for the two of you. Because my wife is
from Chicago, and she kept saying Door County, Oh my god,
oh my god, I've got to go to Door County
because she grew up in that area, thinking that Door
County is the ultimate mecca. I mean, what did you
guys feel being there is Does it really carry that
energy that would get somebody from Chicago to just be
all freaky weird?

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Well, I I absolutely do. I'm not from Chicago, I'm
from central Illinois. And I mean, man, when they said
they said, oh, you know, it's a it's a really
wonderful vacation destination for a lot of people in the Midwest,
especially Chicago.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I went there and I went, yeah, I understand why.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
I totally understand why it's it's it's honestly, it has
this unique quality about it that I have never experienced
anywhere else. I guess they they call it the Cape
Cod of the Midwest, and and I and I can
see that, you know, it's it's incredibly charming.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's unique because you've got.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
This this this enormous amount of shoreline with Green Bay
and Lake Michigan, and then you have all of these
these family farms right these orchards.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
There's a lot of local artisan ship there. I mean,
it was it was just it's a lovely place. The
community was incredible. They supported the movie. I mean, we
couldn't have asked for more support from the community. I
can't wait to.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Go back, Katie. Can we give credit to the music
as well in the show, because I mean even the
opening song on Kringle coming to Town, all the way
through this movie and even during the credits, if you
shut this movie off and not listen to that song
on the credits, you know at the end, you miss
out on a major, major piece of music. I mean,
you gotta love the music that's part of this.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Absolutely, I think that's a credit to our director John Stimpson.
He commissioned several songs, and also he's just really good
at that. He's got a good ear and he's a
multi talented man, great director. He edits, he does a
lot of the music stuff himself. And yeah, it's a

(06:35):
really well rounded project, and I think it comes together
really nicely.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
There were two shocking moments that really really made me
start talking to the flat screen TV. One of them
was something to do with snowflakes being given back, how
dare you? And number two, we've got something that happens
at the fish fry. Oh my god. I mean they write,
how can you not sit there and have a conversation
with your flat screen when you guys pull off scenes
like this.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Well, speaking of snowflakes, we had to actually film the
fish boil twice because I wasn't aware of this term
even existing. But Door County is cold, and they got
a thunderstorm and a lightning storm during a snowstorm, so
they called it thunder snow, which just seems rude. But

(07:24):
we experienced that during the first time of trying to
film the fish boil, and then had to go back
and do reshoots, which was really cool. But I think
it comes together super well. Yeah, but that was a
new one for me coming from southern California.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Thunder snow, Well, here in the South, thunder snow is
very important because if you hear thunder at any time
during the months of December January, February. That means within
the next ten days we should expect anywhere between three
to ten inches of snow thunder. Snow is very genuine
here in the South.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Oh wow, I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Yeah. And so you're always listening to everything that's on
in nature, and if you're out there in a snowstorm
when there is thunder, you better make sure you got
that shovel nearby because it's gonna come down.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, and boy did it.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Where can people go to find out more about you, guys?
Because ten minutes with you and this incredible movie. And
I know it's a Christmas holiday movie, but you know what,
because of the two of you, it doesn't really feel
like that. It's a love story. It is about ambition
as well as passion.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Absolutely, yes, absolutely, that's right. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Wisconsin Christmas Pive premieres this Saturday, October eleventh, eight pm
Eastern on Great American Family and streams on GFAM Plus.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
It also, if you can't wait until.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
Saturday, airs on Great American Pure Flicks tomorrow Thursday, October ninth.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Wow, the two of you have got to come back
to this show anytime in the future. Please. The door
is always going to be open for you.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Thank you so much, we love thanks.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Will you guys be brilliant today?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Okay, al right, you two rock to a great start.
