(00:40):
down with you, I'm gonna show prep first. My podcasting
platforms feature thousands of guests. What you don't have access
to are my missed opportunities. I mean, the show prep
was one hundred percent completed, the conversation didn't happen. I
keep all of my notes because I believe that paths
will cross one day again. Let me explain missed opportunity.
It's my questions and statements without their answers. I'm leaving

(01:05):
open enough space at the end of every question, hoping
they're going to download the talk and insert their answers.
It's happened four other times. Missed opportunity is a lost
piece of history, like a message in a bottle. It's
been tossed out to see. Now, let's get to that location.
This week, we're putting focus on my Missed Opportunity with
singer songwriter Claire Garresso. Okay. Claire Garresso described as a

(01:31):
multifaceted sound fusing indie pop, electronic soulful singer songwriter my goodness.
Her sound dials into the deep emotions by way of
her unearthly tones, which you will feel the very moment
you pop on her tunes. It's more than releasing music
for radio and music platforms such as iHeart as well

(01:51):
as Spotify, Claire is also into designing sounds for movies
and television shows. In December of twenty twenty four, she
was promoting her new single Ready when you are featured
in that song is one of those things that gets
deep into your heart through those unearthly tones, and that
is that piano. You're never going to forget it. Claire

(02:13):
has mastered the art of bringing out the heartfelt tones
of a piano. This while still writing music for Grey's Anatomy, Lucifer,
American Ninja Warrior, and of course Walking Dead. The invitation
to share a conversation with Claire Garresso arrived on December ninth,
twenty twenty four. It was to be a twenty minute

(02:33):
gathering set for the sixteenth at nine to twenty am.
I answered back, that's perfect. Within minutes the time was
moved to ten am. Uh oh, first red flag, followed
by my state of Montana prairie reply, which is usually yep,
oh yeah, we say that all the time out there
at the chickens and the horses. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.

(02:56):
Three days later, the zoom link sealed the deal. There
was about to be a breaking down of art and music.
In fact, here's what really made it very authentic. The
pronunciation guide came in and it had her name Garresso.
Forty eight hours later, word arrived that the interview, or
the conversation, the talk, it was going to be canceled.

(03:20):
You know how the month of December can be a
lot of people get under the weather. Hey, coming up next,
my questions, my statements for Claire Garresso. Hey, thanks for
coming back to the Daily mess We're going to start
things off by talking about the song closing in exploring

(03:40):
your presence. There's an emotional delivery connected to this universe.
How do you even think about making up that map
while performing live? How do you grow into each emotion?
Do you record the songs first and then take it
to the producer and director and say, ah, I got
an idea. Listeners need to put focus on your website

(04:03):
because your merch is mind blowing. This is the kind
of stuff that you can wear anywhere in the world,
and then one day dream of seeing you live in concert.
The song ashes again back to that piano. It is
so much a part of your story. How are you
able to even work in the vocals? I giggle like

(04:24):
a child when I look at photographs, and the reason
why is because fashion is such a part of your presentation.
And it takes me back to the days of Spando
Ballet of the nineteen eighties, all of that fashion, except
it was in the underground. A tour, do you get
to go out on the road or is all your
focus is going to be on intimate houses? Here it comes,
We're going to talk about that song Hero. You allow

(04:46):
that background sound to have a presence. I mean there
for a very brief moment, I feel like, Wow. Obviously
NPR had something to do with this, because you like
to bring everything to that moment and it's not a
candy coated plastic bathroom mere smile. So where do the
lyrics actually begin? Social media is a hot connection. The

(05:08):
question is where do you find the time? I mean
it requires a lot of private energy to make this
stuff happen. Will we ever see you at one of
the global festivals, because that seems to be the thing.
I'm not one to say the word goodbye, but I'll
tell you what. When you sing got to Take the Rain,
that takes me to a new way of expressing myself.

(05:31):
The song ready when you are so original, very much
in touch with our methods of mental escape, that's what
we want. We want to release and you're helping us
get there. It's not really about getting on the radio.
I mean you're doing film and TV. You're on every platform,
which is where the artist should all be. Saturday Night

(05:54):
Live just did a skit on Spotify about their Spotify list.
Where would you find your on that list? Your first
duet with jf whoa collaborating that takes time and a
lot of patience. So while singing, is it like acting?
Are you stepping into that role in your heart? What

(06:19):
is the requirement when it comes to a love song?
Everybody's love song is so different and when you find
out the real interpretation, it's like, WHOA, didn't even take
me there? You represent your listeners and fan base. I
play music at schools and every place that I find
a stage. There is that music list. What is it

(06:41):
on that music list that you hear that you find inspiration?
Are you looked upon as being the Brian Adams of
today's music world? I mean, come on, TV soundtracks, movie soundtracks,
that is so Brian Adams. How is it that you're
able to bring a song into your heart and then
pass it forward to us. What kind of trust do

(07:02):
you have to develop with that innercore of creativity. Music
is in such a great place right now with all
the genres working together as one. It's not like he said,
she said, we said this is ours, this is mine,
blah blah blah blah blah. You are opening up a
door for us to say this is our music. And

(07:23):
is there a formula to reaching your music? And there
you have it? Another missed opportunity, a lost piece of history.
You now know the questions, so let's locate the answers.
I mean, the door is always going to be open.
If you are or no Claire Garresso, please reach out
to me at erroc at gmail dot com. That's a R.

(07:45):
