Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and good morning, Brandy. How are you doing.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Good morning, I'm doing well. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (00:03):
Oh I am so fired up to have a conversation
with you because Storage Wars is my banj. This is
where I go to man to feel like a total
snoop because my nose is it's in those boxes already
when the moment that door opens, well.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
It's it is definitely can be a lot of fun
and can be quite gross.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
You know.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
So are you saying that people can be pigs?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
What?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
In other words? In other words, when you say when
you say gross, I'm sitting there going what is in
that box now that we don't get to see on TV?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Well, it's just, you know, sometimes it's just a little
fascinating the things that people might put in a storage
unit as opposed to throwing in the trash or you know,
you know, unmentionables and and uh, you know, things that
are a little shocking and you know, just dirt and
garbage and food and you know critters, Oh oh oh.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
This is the kind of stuff that you know, this
is the stuff that keeps me glued to Storage Wars.
And the reason why is because it's it's it's inquisitive,
it it gives, it gives your imagination something like I
try to become you as you walk in there.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, there's a you know, so many elements to it
that are you know, fun.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I mean, it's a competition.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
People have somebody that they want to root for, and
you learn about some obscure item that you wouldn't have
known about, you know, and and somebody kind of wins
at the end of it.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
You know, it's it's it's it's it's a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Do you prep for this? Is there any place that
you can go to find out who was the owner
of this particular storage area? And then and then this
way you can assume because I mean, you're you're spending
money without knowing what's in there.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
I you know, I never dug into and I don't
really I don't really think that you can dig into
to that, you know, prior to of who owns the unit.
It's it's just you, you know, you just have to
have a gut instinct, and you also have to have
that element of you know, experience. You know, there's no
(02:18):
way of actually knowing, you know, before they open that
unit whether or not it's going to be good.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Do you get butterflies, you know, like the fear of failure.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I mean, you know, absolutely because you know, but that's
you know again, with experience, you kind of know what
you should and shouldn't buy, and you know you still
have fails along the way, but you have to you know,
kind of cap your money and make sure that you
don't get caught up and overspend or you know, and
you learn what to look for.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Please do not move. There's more with Brandy Pasente from
Storage Wars coming up next. Hey, thanks for coming back
to my conversation with Brandy Pacente from Storage Wars. How
often do you get that emotion of it's all or nothing.
If I don't jump on this right now, and if
I don't win this thing right now, it's over.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I mean, it happens.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
There's definitely some that I have gone overboard with, you know,
and have to let go, which is really difficult. And
then I think about it, you know, for weeks on
end after the fact, if I didn't win it, you know,
wondering if I had, you know, just gone overboard with
the money, would I have you know, found something fantastic
(03:29):
in there. But you know, it's it's again, I've been
doing this for a very long time, so you have
to live and learn, you know when to.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Let go when you say a very long time. Is
this a skill that you can teach a newcomer or
is this is this something that you learned along the
way and kept it.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
It's just something I learned along the way and kept it.
I mean it's a it's a hands on thing. I
mean you can't. I mean you can give tips along
the way to people, but it's it's you have to
be hands on with this business in order to you know,
get that eye for what is going to be good.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
I can't give that to you.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
I would love to see the next level of this
show where you guys are standing outside a physical house
and what happens is you buy whatever is in that house.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Well, we did. We did go to an estate sale
this season.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Wow, what was that?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah? It was fantastic.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
I haven't done it and we haven't done it on
the show, and I won big So I'm pretty excited
about that.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
So, in a really weird way, on Strange on Storage Wars,
is it like gambling in Las Vegas because you don't
know if you're gonna win in Vegas either?
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Absolutely, It's definitely a gamble. It's a modern day treasure hunt,
you know. You know, and like I said, there is
that element of competition. It's definitely like gambling because you
just never know, Wow, what your.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Hand's going to be.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
One of the things that my wife and I always
talk about is that when when they're doing the price
tag at the end, when they're adding things up of
how much money you've made, I always sit there and say, yeah,
but you got to find the buyer first. Do you
run into that where it's like, Okay, You've got these
valuables sitting right there in front of you, but is
it valuable before you sell it?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
That is something I say often, you know, and I
think a lot of people kind of overestimate, you know,
what they're going to get. And I'm more burden in
the hand than I am, you know, finding another place
on the shelf to hold on to something until I
get that much money for it.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
You know, that's also money. You know, space is money
as well.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yep, So.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah, burd in the hand.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Wow. Where can people go to find out more about you? Brandy?
Because you are a crowd favorite. People watch you on
this show.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
I am this summer I am. We're working on it now.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
It'll be launching I think you know July ish. I
am doing a new podcast called The Real Reality. I'm
really excited about that as well.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Oh I hope you come back and talk about that
when when you're all set up and ready to rock,
because I do a show called Podcrashing. It's all about
sharing podcasts and getting that word out there.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Wonderful, all right, I'd love to talk to you.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Excellent. Well, please be brilliant today. Okay, oh, thank you.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
I'm trying.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Thank you,
