Speaker 1 (00:00):
Stream thinking. It's learning how to trust what is in
your present place of right now now. To get there
requires practice. This is what I do every single day
one sheet of paper, just ten minutes, write about whatever
is moving through your present place of right now, with
absolutely no judgment. Stream thinking sharpens your skills as a listener,
(00:22):
as a communicator, and as an activator. It's learning how
to trust what is in your right now. This is
stream thinking today. We're reading from December fourteenth, twenty twenty four.
Maybe it's a sign of just getting old. Nothing's going
to stand in my way of celebrating with our neighbors
of twenty five to thirty years as entertainers, we've made
(00:44):
it a point to keep this year's holiday gathering a
top issue. A co worker asked, why do you feel
like it's important to be with your neighbors. My reply was,
I think it's because everybody's retiring this year. You know
what happens to those that retire. Part of a is
the art of making new memories, keeping everything fresh, learning
(01:04):
to laugh at new jokes, poke fun at modern times,
and not necessarily the memories spending time with real friends.
Nearly three decades in the making, right now, no job
feels more important. Yeah, a sign of getting older. No complaints,
only compliments. I guess I should feel like I'm one
(01:28):
of the luckiest people in the world to have neighbors
that I've been with for twenty five to thirty years
and we really do know each other like the back
of our hands. So when I get the opportunity to
meet other people whose communities are just coming together, the
first thing that I like to do. Of course, I'm
a tree guy. I will sit there and say, you
gotta plant trees, and they go, why would I want
to plant trees in my yard? Said, you have no idea.
(01:48):
How much of a conversation piece that is, and it
really is. I said, you got to get rocks. Why
would I need rocks? Neighbors like rocks, that people just
like rocks because rocks are storytellers as well. There are
things you can do inside your circle of your relationship
with your neighbors that really builds the future, and it
gives you that investment in that day so that when
(02:09):
you get up there, it's not about looking back. It's
about looking forward to taking the next step into our
days of change and challenge. And yeah, I'm going to
admit to you that it is very difficult for me
to sit back and see how many people around me
are retiring and I'm not. And the reason why is
because I'm so screwy hungry when it comes to creativity,
(02:32):
I can't turn it off, and so I keep waiting
for that opportunity to find the next level of creativity.
Is it going to be in broadcasting? But this is
not about me. This is about you. This is about
how you need to put yourself into your neighborhood to
create that moment of ten years together fifteen, twenty five, thirty.
(02:52):
And then when you do get together for your Friday
night celebrations in every holiday there is, and you've got
your chili, cookofs and everything, it's not like, well, it's
so old people gathering again, it's almost like being in
an assisted living place. It is absolutely not. We are
very much alive, We are very much vivid with our energy,
and we are very clear as to hey, we are
(03:15):
the community. That's my challenge to you. This is stream thinking.
