Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm more than just a podcaster. I am a podcast listener.
When I'm sitting in the front seat of my car
trying to get through a mess of traffic, I need
something I can relate WITHI not the podcaster, but the
podcast listener. That's why we created Arrow dot Net. The
power of choice. Doctors, actors, musicians, you name it. We

(00:23):
cover those subjects because it's your lifestyle Arroe dot Net.
Enjoy the exploration what it's extremely difficult to make up
your mind. I mean, having the power of choice can
actually weaken a person's heart. On this episode, we're going
to explore the decision millions are making to hang up
retirement and return to the workforce, plus unveiling the signs

(00:46):
that leads a person away from well deserved rest back
into a huge world of corporate unrest. My name is Arrow.
Life is a series of choices. I mean, who decides
when you're not making the right choice? Is it a
fear of going wrong? The greatest lessons in life are
often lost inside hidden away attempts and concepts. Well, it's
time to reopen your heart. Having that power of choice

(01:08):
is your daily gift. On this highway, we're gonna learn
how to trust mirages. What is the choice like making
that choice to come out of retirement? Wooh, that's a
big one. We've seen the biggest names in sports pop
up their heads like that of whack a mole. Only
a few haven't been bonked on the head. By way
of reminding the extender of workplace life, why is it

(01:32):
that you pulled the ship off the water in the
first place? Why do people make that choice to end retirement? Ooh,
there's two opposite sides right. There is a mix of
reasons why the door pop back open, all connected to
emotional and psychological reasons for many people, And I'm guilty
as charged. It's not about the paycheck. It's about getting

(01:53):
back to the structured lifestyle that we once had. It
fulfills a missing need of problems solving while contributing. More importantly,
coming out of retirement provides a sense of purpose that
hobbies can't touch. Retirement feels like isolation. It doesn't take
long for the novelty to wear off. Returning to work

(02:15):
restores the active routine, whether it be with conversations or
just belonging to a workplace team. Coming up next, the
signs you should be looking for when your heart is
saying go back to work. Hey, welcome back to the choice.
What's inside a man or woman's soul that convinces them
to retire from retirement. The shift in your life is

(02:38):
a huge choice, often influenced by real world inflation, medical costs,
and market downturns. It's a shock when retirees realize that
life long savings are more like pennies in a ten
can than a comfortable bed of roses. Making the choice
to return to work is more about security than ambition.

(03:00):
Ructuring supports mental health. The mind, body, and soul feel useful,
which reduces depression and anxiety. The best news is that
retirees that choose to return to work do so on
their terms. There's no need to chase promotions or to
be the boss's pet. You're in control of the hours

(03:20):
that you're putting in. I always tell people I don't
have a frickin' job. I have a choice, and every
day I make the choice to come here. Why because
my name is on that list. I want them to
respect me as much as I respect them. It totally
replenishes your ambition with a new energy and vision. Coming
out of retirement gives you a purpose, a connection, contribution

(03:42):
as well as personal growth. It is a choice. I'm
Marrow and that's what I was writing while the sun
was waking up on a brilliant new day
