Speaker 1 (00:06):
We're here to talk about some current initiatives and issues
happening on cimo's campus. Southeast Missouri State University is rolling
out a new scholarship program aimed at benefiting the vast
majority of students. Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and
Admissions Linelle Hahn explained that eighty five percent of admitted
students will now qualify for automatic and renewal scholarships under
(00:27):
the new program.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
With this new scholarship program, we've really expanded the eligibility
of students, and so that's where it's expanding it to
the eighty five percent, and that is of those who
apply are admitted to the university, eighty five percent will
qualified or one of these automatic academic scholarships.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
The new program is designed to be more accessible with
test optional policies, superscore options, and a wider GPA range
for awards. Among the biggest changes is a change to
the deadline for application of scholarships. Students now have until
March first to qualify for top awards. The Copperdome Scholarship
Maximum has also increased from three to five thousand dollars,
(01:10):
and renewable support will help students keep their scholarships through
the entirety of their degree. For Pelgrim recipients, SIMO is
guaranteeing free tuition and general fees through its Will to
Do Award. Now over to Mallory Hawkins with an update
on the shuttle system.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
SIMO has officially transferred management of its on campus shuttle
system to the Cape Gerardo County Transit Authority. Chief of
Police Richard Flotron says that students shouldn't notice many changes
in their daily commute and that the goal of the
transfer is to keep the shuttle system experience consistent while
improving efficiency.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
But the one thing that we kind of, you know,
holding our hats high on is that you know, there's
not going to be that much change.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
CTA Executive director Jenny Smith added that the partnership adds
new technology to the shuttle system, including automat passenger counters
to identify gaps and service and help adjust roots. Students
will also see a new toll for tracking the shuttles
this year, an app called trip shot that provides real
time shuttle tracking and route information without requiring the log in.
(02:14):
For more information, SIMO students can download trip shot or
visit the university's website. For air on the air, this
