Welcome to Arrow on the Air. I'm your host Abbie Bowles,
and today Cora O'Donnell will be talking about last week's
sports weekcat.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
The week of October twenty six through November second feature
disappointment and excitement for Red Hawk athletics. For football, Simo
fell against Charleston Southern with a score of twenty three
to seventeen on November first. Currently, the Red Hawks have
a record of three to six and sit at sixth
place in the OVC. For volleyball, Simo won a decisive

three to zero victory against Tennessee State on October thirty first.
The Red Hawks now sit at seventh in the OVC
and have an overall record of fourteen to twelve. The
cross country, the men's and women's teams competed in the
OVC Championship on October thirty first. The men's team took
home third place and the women's team took home second place.

Simo's Nova Ojictangis took home gold for the second year
in a row in the women's six K Championship. For

In other news, Simo's stim College hosted Space Week activities.
They took place from November three through November seventh. On Monday,
a lecture was held on the history of observation at SEMO,
with three other lectures taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Astronomy Club hosted a trivia night on Thursday, with
an observation event following it. Associate Professor of Chemistry and

Physics doctor Joseph Murphy said that the goal is to
see enthusiasm among students.

I have had students in the Astronomy Club or students
that I've worked with in their junior and senior year,
and they're talking about how excited they were about hearing
doing things in Space Week and that was really kind
of got them moving in a certain direction. So I
think that just taking home the enthusiasm and getting that fun. Also,

if you learn any physics, that's also a good thing too.
