Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to Arrow on the Air. I'm your host, Cora
O'Donnell in. Today Abbey Fools will be talking about the
new visa fees impacting international students.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
President Donald Trump signed a new proclamation on September nineteenth,
twenty twenty five, that created a new fee for foreign workers.
Anyone under the H and B visa program will be
subject to a one hundred thousand dollars fee. The H
ANDEB program was designed for highly skilled foreign workers to
find jobs and specialty fields in the United States. Many
international students who graduated from American universities use this program

(00:32):
to find employment. These students could also use this program
as a stepping stone to American citizenship. While this new
fee will be covered by the business hiring youth workers,
many smaller companies or nonprofits do not have enough resources
to afford this fee. It is believed, according to Visa Nation,
that the opportunities for foreign workers in the United States
will shrink despite these changes. The new fee, according to

(00:55):
the White House dot gov, is designed to protect American
workers and prevent abuses that take place the program. The
true results of these changes are yet to be determined.

at two pm at the show Mee Center. Classes will
be canceled for the day in order for students to participate.
