the author of the book D thirty six And people,
when I tell you, not only will you be impressed
with this project, it may be something that inspires you
(22:29):

(22:49):
order a copy of the thirty six by doctor Clarissa
Tally and people check it out. You're about to see why,
doctor Tally. How are you doing today? Oh?
Speaker 21 (23:00):
I'm good. I'm good, moving around and thankful that God
has blessed me to still be here, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 22 (23:09):
And tell us about how beautiful it is and how
great it feels in Texas today. Hopefully it's not too high.
Speaker 21 (23:16):
No, it's not hot at all. Matter of fact, it's cloudy,
and the whole state is really feeling a little down
because of what happened in the south part of Texas.
But we all know God is still on the throne,
and yes, ma'am, we're grateful and thankful, yes, ma'am, And
(23:38):
tell us about.
Speaker 22 (23:40):
The thirty six. Now, I understand that, of course you know,
not only are you a person who make sure that
you do the things that you need to do and
that you feel guided and appointed to do, but of
course you also are a great motivator for your family.
You're the family, and thus my understanding of how the
(24:03):
thirty six came along. But will you, for the listeners,
in your own words, explain to them about this heirloom
piece that you've created and have released to honor your family.
Speaker 21 (24:18):
Which it started years ago. And as matter of fact,
when I guess you would say, when I was born,
it's just literary work that I put together after everybody,
the older generation started passing away, and every time I
would something happens, I was always called to speak and
(24:42):
define what was going on and who was relatives and
who wasn't. And me being raised by my grandparents, I
knew all the family, business and history. A lot of
it was good, some of it was bad, and some
of it I dare not tell. But the bat All
(25:03):
families have that same concept because none of us is different.
We all live and we have our being and so
my is They ask so many questions. I just thought
it would be a good idea to put it in
a book form that even when God takes me home,
(25:25):
there would be something left to let them know how
our grandparents lived in the family history as far as
I could know. So that's why I did it. And
it has been a joy as the memories flood back
and I put them on paper. It is a joy
(25:47):
for me.
Speaker 22 (25:49):
What has been some of the reactions because I can't imagine, well,
you know, because it's rare when we even hear that
I would a family number one has a historian that
has packaged the family story to make them in a
way where they're easy for any family member to dress
(26:14):
the stories, to share the stories. How did you come
up with the idea to compile the stories like this?
Speaker 21 (26:24):
Well, the thought that I had is I remember the
Alex Haley how he wrote the book Groups and then
they turned it into a movie, and it was so
important for their family to understand where they came from.
And then if you know where you came from, you'll
just about have a good idea about where you're going. Yes,
(26:47):
And my grandmother was a person that went to college
back in the early nineteen twenties, her and her sisters,
and I knew all the stories concerning them, but her
mother was about education. Back in the slavery time, they've
figured that the best way to get out of slavery
(27:10):
and to live a good life is to be educated.
So my grandmother instilled that in me that I had
to get my education. So I enjoy I enjoyed telling
my grandkids and the other kids some of the stories
and they'd be like, wow, we didn't know it was
like that, Yeah, that's the way it is.
Speaker 22 (27:32):
And you truly are exemplary. Because listeners, now, for those
of you who are just tuning in, you're listening to
Articulation Radio. My name is God, its stage, and I
am interviewing the illustrious Arthur doctor Clarissa Tally of Texas
regarding her books The thirty six and now what I
(27:56):
want to actually, because I know there are a lot
of people that are like, Okay, well, you know, I
want to do a book, and I've been working on mine,
you know, but yeah, I'm juggling this juggling that I've
started it, I've lost it, my computer crash, you know,
it's all these things. And even some people, you know,
are like, look, I've started this thing seven different times.
(28:19):
Maybe it's not meant for me to do it. What
would you say to the people who feel like, you know,
because maybe they've tried and they've had hardships or things
or holding them up, or they're like, why just haven't
met the right person who can help me? What would
you say to people to keep them from giving up,
but to stay the course and to follow their assignment
(28:42):
and to just know that, yeah, as long as they're
doing their part, everything's going to work out. What would
you say to, you know, those who are on the verge.
Speaker 21 (28:49):
Of giving up, Well, I've say to those that have
given never give up, because we all run in to
pass that go to a dead end. But you pick
it back up because you can either go over around
and then you'll make it to the end.
Speaker 10 (29:11):
You know.
Speaker 21 (29:11):
That's why the scripture tell us the race is not
given to the Swiss, but to the one that endures
to the end. I had plenty days that I didn't
write months, but then I'd always go back and as
I write, God gave me wisdom and knowledge and brought
(29:32):
back to remembrance of things that should be put in
the book. So that's what I did. Because each of us,
the thirty six, and like I tell them in the book,
we all have our story. We all have a story
to tell. I only tell it the way that I
saw it and the way I lived it. And each
(29:54):
individual has a story. You may not see it as
a store. You may not want anybodage to know about
your store. But it helps a family to grow and live,
to see what their future holds for them. Yeah, not easy,
and it's time consuming, but it can be done.
Speaker 22 (30:20):
Tell that truth, doctor Tally, tell that truth. And now
and also and now. My understanding is that even though
you are, you know, definitely a person who's heavily experienced,
highly educated, you're working on your second masters. You're wrapping
up getting a second master's and you will be I understand,
(30:43):
graduating getting your second masters in December.
Speaker 21 (30:47):
Correct, I will turn the age of seventy five and
get my second masters. That was in the book. It
describes why I'm I waited till this age because my
school days was during integration and segregation, and it was
(31:08):
during tough times. But I look at it as everything
is done in its own time, and for me to
be doing it now, it was the time for me.
And I think doing that i'm doing it now, it
will have a better effect on the family and on
(31:30):
the world, because you know, we don't do it on
our time. If you're live by the spirit of God,
you do it when God says time. And yes, I'm
doing it on God's time.
Speaker 22 (31:44):
Yes. And I know your family is probably so proud
of you. And not just your family, but I'm sure
even when you meet people in general, they are always
so amazed that at your age you're still persevering, You
still have the energy, you still have the willingness and
the wherewithal to learn these new things, to go through
(32:05):
these difficult processes that even people have your age are
already throwing up their hands like, oh, I can't do this,
this too much. What would you say to those people
who you know they want to do the things that
you've done. You know they want to go back to school,
you know they they want to finish their manuscripts. They
(32:25):
want to connect with a publisher, they want to get
out there and market their book and do podcast interviews.
But they feel like they're tired, and they're like, well,
what is her strength? I want to be able to
what would you say to them? Is your strength? And
how can they get them some of that?
Speaker 21 (32:45):
The it's the mind. The mind grows. I don't care
how old we get to be. We can always learn.
And when you set and research. It was a struggle
because the technology of recording different things for school. I
had to do a lot of deep training and finding
(33:09):
a way to make sure I get the correct grades
that I wanted because perfection, to me is what I
desire and I know nobody is perfect. But it gives
me energy to be able to let develop my mind
because I do a lot of research and reading and
it helps me to grow in knowledge and wisdom. Part
(33:32):
of my prayer when I pray to God every day
is for wisdom, and I thank Him that he has
provided me that some of the wisdom comes from reading
and knowledge and talking to different people and understanding. Sure
I need a lot of help, especially with technology. Well,
I thank God that he has given me children and
(33:55):
grandchildren that are well endowed on knowing what to do
and how to do it. So I learned from them,
and the mind keeps us. We may be old in age,
but the mind keeps us young along. T you can manage,
and any of those that try, you'll be. You will
(34:16):
be just so excited and elated when you find out
you're learning how to.
Speaker 22 (34:20):
Do what the world is bringing to us now, wonderful, wonderful.
And to those who are listening and are like, you know,
what she says is all well and good, But I
just don't have the strength. I can feel myself tired.
(34:42):
I want to do it. I wish I could, but
I'm tired. You know, how does she find the strength?
Speaker 19 (34:50):
You know?
Speaker 22 (34:50):
And I know that there have been especially with your
running around the.
Speaker 21 (34:54):
Way you do.
Speaker 22 (34:56):
You know, do you have like a driver drives you around?
Because you know some people even think that too. They're like, oh, well,
she must be rich, you know, since she is able
to go back to school and she put out these books.
And you know, so is it that you are wealthy
(35:16):
and other people do all this stuff for you and
that's why you're able to do things? Or is it
that no, you're having to do these things yourself, and
it's literally the grace of God or the natural human
strength that pushes you through.
Speaker 21 (35:31):
No, I don't. I do everything for myself. I drive,
I cook, I clean. I do everything for myself. And
I'm just like everybody else. I've had heart attacks and
do different things. But in my mind and my heart
is if I sit and wait for somebody else to
(35:54):
do it, it may not get done because I want
it done the right way, and I'm certain way. So
I do it myself, and as I move, God gives
me strength. And they often say you need to sit down,
my No, I know when to sit down. I know
when I'm tired.
Speaker 22 (36:14):
It's well, we all have our own.
Speaker 21 (36:16):
Bodies, in our own minds. You know what you can
and what you can't do. And for me, if I
keep moving and keep writing, I know that's what gives
me peace and comfort, to be able to write and
move and just have my own day.
Speaker 22 (36:38):
I enjoy, Yes, very glory to God. And my last
question to you is what is there? Well before I
even ask that, now, those of you listening now, if
you have not already headed over to Amazon dot com
or gone down to your favorite bookstore and made it
(36:58):
a point to order the thirty six by doctor Clarissa Tally.
Go ahead and do that right now. The thirty six
t G three six D thirty six by doctor Clarissa Tally.
That c l A r I S SA t A
L l E y Clarissa Tally, Doctor Clarissa Tally, D
(37:23):
thirty six, grab up your copy right now. And doctor Tally,
what is there that you have not had the chance
to say to the listeners of articulation radio that you
would like to be sure to leave them with right now?
Speaker 21 (37:40):
Well, I always tell people, and this is a point
that I lived on, is I trust God. The thirty
six will show and teach. It's the beginning for me
because I trust God enough to know that whatever he
(38:02):
leaves me to do, it is not a mistake and
it's what's needed. And I know if I trust in Him,
he will always give me the strength to give me
the knowledge the wisdom to be able to do the
things that I do. At this time, He has given
(38:22):
me the knowledge to become a chaplain. That never crossed
my mind, but the physician presented it was presented to me,
and I accepted it because the thirty six and everything
(38:43):
else that I do is to show the glorification of God.
It's God's annoying and if you live by what his
words say and what's taught the biblical way, it's not
a chore, it's a room. It's guidance and to help
(39:05):
us live in this life that we're in, the way
that God wants us to live and He expects us
to live. I have a lot of grandkids, and my
example to them is for them to never stop, keep
doing and keep living the way God wants us to live.
(39:28):
That's all I can say about it, because it's all
about Him, not about us.
Speaker 22 (39:36):
And indeed, the story is ongoing because your family is
very vibrant, it's very large, and of course, as we know,
like she says, people, this the thirty six is just
the beginning. So definitely for those of you who are like, oh,
you know, I love that. I wish my family had.
Speaker 25 (39:57):
Something like that.
Speaker 22 (39:58):
Well, since you are the one who knows about doctor
Clarissa Tally and d thirty six, go and get your
copy of that book. And then when you do share
it with other members of your family and are like, hey,
we should do something like this, they'll be able to
see exactly what you're talking about, or you can even
(40:18):
right now, go ahead send out a text message to
those relatives in your phone and tell them, hey, go
and get this book. The thirty six by doctor Clarissa Tally.
We should do something like this. After you get your book.
Let's have a family meeting and see how we're going
to do ours. People. It's more than one way to
peel fruit. And if you see that someone has done
(40:40):
something that you want to do, instead of still just
sitting back and wanting and wishing and feeding covetedness and
feeding envy and feeding jealousy, go ahead and step out
of that and step into your own calling, into your
annoying because your book will be a totally different one
(41:02):
than hers, even though it's inspired by her. So don't
let anybody tell you you cannot do yours because your
copycatting her. No, if she has inspired you, because she
has taken this great step and has shown people that
you don't have to just keep passing family stories down
from one person to one person because it may not
(41:24):
be transferred over to someone else, but you put it
in this form where people can come and get it
at any time, and nobody can change the story because
it's in writing, and that way you know your family
history is definitely protected because none of the details will
be getting skewed. And if anybody does misinterpret something or misremember, hey,
(41:45):
you have it in writing to correct it. People, go
ahead crap off your copy. V. Thirty six by doctor
Clarissa Talley. I'm telling you this book reaches long, far
and wide, and it's going to help you and your
family as well. Hell to solidify your legacy and to
establish your culture within your family and to be sure
(42:06):
your traditions and your history are preserved. Doctor Tally, thank
you for this great work that you have done and
for taken the time to come to Articulation Radio. You
are welcome to share our stage anytime. Our mic is
always yours.
Speaker 28 (42:24):
Well.
Speaker 21 (42:25):
Thank you for having me, and because one thing that
I do want to say is we rely on ancestry,
but I've found after doing research, a lot of the
things that the ancestry right is incorrect. So we need
people to make sure that we have the correct family history.
(42:49):
And I've had to correct song, but those are the
things that nobody knows the family history unless you were there,
So we need somebody true. Ton ten writing the truth
about your family, because when you lived it, the people
that just read about it can't tell you what the
(43:10):
truth is. They add and they take away. So I
just say make sure you put it so when we
are gone, the ones that do with the writing it
will the truth will still live on. Yes, ma'am.
Speaker 22 (43:26):
Yes, Oh, you are very welcome. You are very welcome.
