Hi, it's brand from this hereshow back to bay Side. Thank you
for still being subscribed. It's beenabout a year and a half so we've
put out an episode, but that'snot entirely true. If you remember,
back in January twenty twenty one,we announced that this show would be moving

and we've been putting out episodes forthe past year and a half for people

Hello everybody. Welcome to the firstexclusive back to bay Side Jam plus
getting that exclusive juice back to BaySide after dark. We're gonna cuss like
a mother today. I mean,it's just gonna get downright r rated.
I'm back to bay Side Plus.That's why you pay the big bucks.

Exactly right, It's exactly right.Um, Dan, how are you my
friend? Doing great? About youdoing good? It was good to go
back to bay Side. You know, we've been for the last ten weeks,
been spending time with the new baySide, right, It's been nice
to go back to bay Side.Different pace for sure, different pace.
We picked a doozy to get backto a double doozy. Double Doozy yep.

We went back twice. We wentback twice, very exciting. So
this week we got Miss bay Sideyep. Um, next week we got
Gavel and then the following week TheSide. Yeah, the True Man.
A couple of big episodes here thatwe were embarking on. We're embarking.
Are you okay? Do you needlike some caffeine, like a pick me

up, some caffeine pill, sometrucks. We'll get there, saying we're
talking about Miss bay Side and itoriginally aired on October twenty seventh, nineteen
ninety. Yeah, we're doing itnow, so still not born. Hey

(03:06):
what is going on here? Hey? Hey, what is going on here?
Um? In case you haven't watchedthis episode recently, let's break it
down, Dan, it has someaged particularly well. No, it's the
week of the big Miss bay Sidecompetition. Danny. You're a Christian school
you went to? Did you havea beauty pageant? That can't say that.

(03:28):
We did brand And I was inschool in the nineties and it was
not something that we didn't do itdances either, So it was a no
go on the beauty pageants. Whatabout you in a Titnessville, Florida.
No, no, no, nobeauty pageants, Um, that I'm aware
of. But like you know,we did have like a geography be the
winners went to like a district ina state, and we did have a

(03:52):
few other things where you could youcompeted in the school and then you went.
But at Bay Side they have abeauty pageant that you if you win,
you can pete. At the districtwe had a talent show, but
it was just for kicks and giggles. Yes, yeah, we had one
of those, but it was justfor fun zis we had. Oh so
I was in TV productions. That'show I learned how to sweet switches and

um you learned that in like twothousand and five six. I was hard
into TV productions two thousand and six, two ten, all throughout my house.
I loved it because you had tomake movies. Like you had to
make movies. So you would dothe morning announcements of course, which you
know was fun, and you learnthe camera and you learn a switcher and
you learn you do all the parts. But you also after the morning the

morning show, you have to youhave to make a video like every couple
of weeks, like be creative andedit it and all that stuff. I
mean it was awesome, amazing anduh we uh, I think it was
like my junior maybe I think itwas my senior year. Uh. We
got the whole county together to doa film festival for all the TV production

classes and I ain't. Me andmy buddy Jeff uh put together the opening
video of the of the Awards show, you know, like where the guys
are running, and we got toget the tapes to him. We did
that whole thing. It was great. I thought we're gonna say you made
a film and it won something.No we didn't. I didn't win,
yeah, but I but my videodid get played. I love it.
So good for you, buddy.So kind of similar to Yeah, it's

Miss Bayside for nerds, and itwould still be acceptable today. Yes,
it would still be acceptable to that. I think they still do it.
But in this episode we do getI mean, we're hot out of the
gate and we get a four personswimsuit. Chant um swim suit suit just
like that. Just so Yeah,Belding announced that this is coming up and

that you can sign up for it, and um, everyone's excited about this
except for Jesse, and Belding doeslook a little like guys, I'm sorry
that I have to put high schoolkids in swimsuits to parade around, but
it's the rules. And yeah,he does. I will say he does
not seem thrilled about this, butit is what it is. Yeah,
like his hands are tied. Youknow, teenage girls parading around in swimsuits.

We have to do it. There'snothing I can have to do,
just public school rules. There's Zachstarts to brag the slater about how much
beauty contests he watched, watches,and he claims that he can he can
train anybody, anyone to win thiscompetition, and simultaneously Jesse is saying it's

(06:30):
a sexist turns out Jesse's right,it's a completely just just utter sham of
an event and it shouldn't take place, and she has convinced Kelly of that,
and they are going to protest.Miss bay side, Lisa's still entering
the contest. Have beauty pageants changedat all or are they all the same?
I don't think they do them likethey used to anymore, Like even

(06:51):
the Miss Universals Donald Trump's thing like, I don't think they like but Miss
Americans stuff them right, Yeah,but they're not for not for fifteen year
olds, sixteen year old of course. I'm just saying, like there's still
ah, there's still a competition,all that stuff still exist there, but
they're not like they're not what theyused to be. Like nobody's tuning in.
There's millions of people watching them likethey used to be. Uh,

(07:14):
because it's twenty twenty one, it'sjust not something. Yeah, but I
mean like still like even a coupleof years ago, Steve Harvey was saying
thing and it was big, bigto do. So it's just because we
don't watch them, doesn't that's true? But like I remember as a kid
then being like being a big dealwhen it came on TV, Like I
remember that. But but again,do you think it had anything to do
with the fact that you were ayoung boy who is just excited watch I

see what you're saying, and thatmay or may not have been true.
I'm saying I didn't really I didn'twatch that, but you knew, Like,
but but your buddies were probably talkingabout it. Like all I'm saying
is when might not be like itmight not be a big deal to us
because we're not watching them and wedon't know anybody who Beauty pageants are still
as big a deal now as theywere nineteen ninety, that is what I'm
I don't know. No the answers, no, they're not. That's the

we got until we got down toit. Everybody concapsulations. Employee also found
out that Dan was really hyped aboutBeati Pagets when he was a teenager,
so he had four channels in myhouse. What do you want for me?
It's big two. I don't knowyou what? Um? Okay,
so this is happening. They makethis bet. Slater says, I have

(08:24):
to pick. I get to pickthe person, and Zach says, okay,
fine, and he picks. Hepicks Screech, whoa curveball here in
nineteen ninety just just breaking gender stereotypesleft and right. It's amazing. I'm
amazing. So um. They bringuh Screech into Belling's office to sign up.

(08:46):
There's a big to do here becausethis has never been done before.
But Jesse, who would also convincedKelly to not join the event, they're
protesting outside of his office and sheover Here's Beltings say guys can't enter the
competition, so she barges in sayswhy can't they? This would be great?
And he says, if I allowScreech, will you stop protesting outside

(09:11):
of my office? She says yes, and she even gets convinced now she
can join the competition because it's nota sexist. That's right, it would
be something she could do. Soyeah, of course y um. So
it's time for the uh, thepracticing for the talents to begin. So

(09:33):
it's you gotta practice, you gottaprep. And there's a group of kids
just hanging out on stage watching.Um, we get some baton twirling from
a girl who uh doesn't matter,and then the heavy hitters come out.
Um, Lisa plays the violin right, Uh, Kelly sings poorly. Um,

(09:54):
Jesse does some interpretive dance poetry.Screeches screeches with Kevin the yes and
everyone all everyone, there's love.And that's when it occurs to Slater.
Uh, oh, I'm gonna losethis bet. Like he's he's a hit.
He's a hit. And so hedecides, I'm going to enter.

(10:16):
I'm gonna compete because if any guy'sgonna win this competition, I'm not losing
fifty bucks to Zach over this.No. No, no. So his
talent is playing the drums, whichis clear he can do. It's great,
big fun, and so Screech andZach they're hanging out in Screeches room,
Screeches sad about you know the factthat he's not gonna win anymore.
There's no way can beat uh Slaterand Kevin the robot extends his arm in

(10:39):
such a way and swings for what'shappening, screech Yeah, like turns around
to and he turns around and hisarms extended. Yeah, it gets popped
right in the eye, right inthe eye. And so Zach ever ever,
the con artist or that decides tospread rumor around school that Slater's responsible

(11:03):
for screeching, and that's you know, the perfect game of telephone gets out
of control, you know, screecheslike in the hospital. He's not gonna
be able to make it. He'sgonna fight um and if he makes it,
he's gonna he's gonna get here,he's gonna win. It's gonna be
great. So it's the day ofthe competition. We get some swimsuits.

(11:24):
Unfortunately that happened really uncomfortable. Slaterwalks out and I will say, boy,
howdy, that teenager is ripped.That's right, Like I cannot believe
he's a teacher. Yeah, yeah, I cannot. Sixteen is rich.
It's crazy town. Nobody's no,it's crickets because they're all mad about what
he did. Comes out in likea wrestling unitard and people go nuts nuts.

(11:46):
That's right, that's right. Soit's the finals. Slay, don't
even make it, didn't make thefun. It's Rando girl, It's Kelly,
Kelly and Screech and they each haveto do a little Q and A
with Belding and Screech basically says,don't vote for me, don't vote for
me. One of these ladies wouldbe much better represent a much better representative

(12:07):
of Bayside. That's exactly right.And boy does that put him over the
time. That's right. He endsup winning. Anyways, Belding sings a
nice little song about him, andUm Slater apologizes. I apologizes, take
the money, that's right, hesays, I'm not gonna take your money
because I slandered your name all overschool. Slater says, no problem,
man, a fair Let's how aboutScreech there? And that is miss space

(12:31):
side. It's time for the nextsegment. I'm so excited. I'm so
scared of spars show where we talkedabout whether or not we love this episode
and excited us just scared us.We didn't like it, Dan excited,
are scared. That's a tough one. Um, I'm pretty scared. Uh.
And I'm scared because there's a scenein this episode after the first scene.

(12:56):
So the first scene is in theauditorium Miss Bayside announcement. This second
scene is them at the Max,and in that scene there is a litany.
There's a litany of things that aresaid that should never be said.
Ever, it's very uncomfortable, andI can't imagine like the cast watching it
now and being like, yeah,this is good good TV. Um.

(13:18):
I at one point just said,everyone stopped talking. Stop talking. It's
a very uncomfortable scene. But howexcited they are for the swimsuit competition.
It's very very just why would yousay this to anyone? I just can't
believe it. Um the episode whereit has its moments, for sure,
but it just no, I can't, I could not. I don't want
to watch this episode again. Idon't want to do it again. So

(13:41):
scared, that's me. I'm Iam very torn. Because Screech knocks out
of them. He's gonna get somegood bits. This is a fantastic episode
for Screech, and it's a goodbits. It's just a shame that to
get to the bit you have towalk through a slew of harassment. Uh

(14:05):
that's a shame. So I can'tand like good faith say I'm excited by
this episode, but I think youknow where I am. But right,
like this is this, this isa great episode aside from all of the
assault. So like there's like tenminutes of gold in this episode and ten
minutes of just verbal just should neverhave So that's that's tough. So but

(14:28):
Screech, Screech is fantastic in thisepisode and it made me, it made
me happy, Um to see Screechjust knock out of the park. Um,
it's a shame that we're not goingto see Dustin uh do this.
Yeah, I was thinking about thatwhile watching the episode, Like it was
a little bitter sweet because he reallyis giving some of his best He's he's
so good and so he's so goodat you know, he knew where he

(14:50):
uh his sweet spot was for comedyand this he nailed it in this episode.
So, um, that's too badbecause it's a really tough episode as
well. So I'm scared, butwith like a hint of excitement, I
guess, but say it like that, Yeah, kids, that's right,

(15:11):
Oh boy, you know what Imean? Guys, time out. I'm
not as far as are we talkingabout? What made us laugh? What
made a stop? What made aconfused? What made it scared? Uh?
And this episode Dano a couple ofthings. Um. First of all,
there's a weird scene where the threemain leading ladies get very mad at
each other in the locker room.They all decided to compete in this and

(15:33):
then Kelly and Jesse and Lisa areall like screaming at each other like they
have insults. It's very quick.They're yelling and screaming at each other,
and they're all basically jealous and arevery scared they're not gonna win the competition
themselves. Whatever. But that sceneends with Lisa saying, wait a minute,
we're what are we getting so upsetfor? We're up against Screech.

(15:56):
And when she says that, theyall laugh, and in the scene ends.
One, you still have to competeagainst each other, Screech. Being
in the competition doesn't change any ofthe reason that you were mad at each
other. Like it doesn't. Andthen two, no one goes from that
hot to that cold that quickly.It just was a very very weird scene

(16:19):
that seemed to be necessary. Tofill out the time of the show.
It didn't make any sense. Yeah, like they are mad at each other
the first time in three seasons.Two skip the bliss that they have been
like legit mad at each other,and it doesn't make it. They go
from that to just like, oh, Screech is a nerd ha ha,
I don't didn't make any sense tome. Sometimes you just see a reminder

(16:40):
that and it's not all serious,you know, yeah, just it's fun.
It's fun, fun times, it'sfun times two more. I'm very
interested in the voting tabulation process frommisspace sides because they do the talent,
they do the question and answer,Screech says, don't vote for me,
and then literally in the same auditoriumimmediately they said, hey, we got
the winner, or are there judges? There is a like, there is

(17:04):
a like st So there's a littletime that's passed that does lead you to
believe that time. I understood itas it's a crowd of voting hand raised,
hand raise, hand raise, Butthen they announced it, so they
why why would they announce it?Everyone out and they do a hand raise

(17:26):
into a hand raise. Figure,maybe everyone has a ballot under their seat.
Maybe they pass it in and thenthey do some sort of stick while
they're counting the votes. I don'tknow. And then, lastly, I
want to make this abundantly clear,Zach Morris starts a rumor and continues to
perpetuate the rumor that Ac Slater abusedphysically screeched powers to within an inch of

(17:52):
his life. He's on, He'sin the ICU, right, that's the
rumor. It wins screeched the competition. Zach comes clean to Slater, and
Slater is just cool with it.He's like, my entire reputation for the
whole high school has been completely shatteredby this rumor. You know what,
prepping, no big deal. Itis the most understated response to a or

(18:15):
just a completely like high school endingrumor that would be started about you.
And he's just like whatever, Allgood, bro, listen, thanks,
All is fair in love and war. Okay, if you say so,
that's what I think I got.A couple um. We did mention that
Belding doesn't seem thrilled about this event, but I will say the sketchy meter

(18:37):
goes up when the principle of theschool makes any girl who's gonna sign up
for the bad pageant. They haveto go into his office to sign Yes,
that is weird. That's a sketchball. That's a sketchball. Move belt,
Yes, sketchball moved, no doubtabout a pal UM. I don't
know why they would need to justsign up. Does he have to give
the yes or no? Like,oh, no, you're a I'll go
you're do it? Like what wasthe purpose of these teenage girls going to

(19:03):
his office? Um? We mentionedthat when they're doing the practices for the
the talents, there's a slew ofteenagers on stage for maybe there's a stage
they hate the stage crew. Idon't know, but they're sitting there watching
UM the talents. Uh, andold old screech boy comes out and starts
to do with magic and UM.At first, Kevin's not there, right,

(19:27):
and then he holds up this curtaindrops it. Kevin's there. There
is a I believe a girl UMto the side and behind what is happening
here? And she's blew away.She's behind the carton can see she can
see the whole thing. She knowshow the trick was done. And she's

(19:48):
just like, I know, Ithought it was a guy so you know
it's hard to say. Um.And last, but not least, I
I just I have a question forthe creators of the show. And this
is not like a I'm I'm upsetthat I didn't see this, but it's
a it's just a why. Um. So we get to the swimsuit portion

(20:12):
of this competition. Okay, there'sa random girl that we see Kelly,
we see Jesse comes out, she'sin her the cover up when I'm not
gonna parade around. Um, wesee Slater, we see the only person
we don't see competing in the swimsuitcompetition is Lisa and I And this is

(20:37):
just I want to know the reasoningbehind not allowing the only person of color
in this show to be the oneperson who's competing in this competition that we
don't see in the swimsuit competition.You think it was I think it was
the creators. You think it washer. She didn't want to be That's
what I want to know. Iwould I want to because if if it's
if it's her, then kudos toher for not allowing these the creators of

this show, to her into areally uncomfortable situation for a teenage girl.
To be forced to go out infront of her peers and cameras in a
swimsuit. They should never have beenallowed to ask them to do that.
So if she gave them to knowI'm not going to do that, then
kudos to her for doing that.And if she did it and they cut
it out, why what is happening? Is it because they didn't think that

kid kids in the nineties were readyto see to see a black girl on
screen in a swimsuit. I don'tknow, that's the question. Yeah,
I'm not. I'm not. I'mnot upset that I did it. You
know, I wish we could havefast forward that part of the show.
Of course, it was just aquestion from a creative standpoint. Yeah,

the Screech. I don't remember thisepisode at all. We just watched it
like in the last few months.Beauty and the Screech Season one. Absolutely

Um Screech's birthday. They they're sayingall these are season one, but I
don't recognize this episode either. Screech'sbirthday and then house Party is number six.
House Party is a classic. Yes, so watch those episodes this week
if you guys want to want tocelebrate the life of Dustin. Are you
seeing these episodes? I'm not seeingthem in season one. I'm looking um

it's said say by the Bell.H none of those are in season one,
the Birthday, nor the Slaters Slater'sfriends, none of them are season
one, Slater's Friend saved by theBell. I'm looking up season three for
maybe both of those. Yeah,so this is a season four episode.
