Speaker 1 (00:00):
Something.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
They call it functional alcoholism. But if you know anything
about Ben, he's got vision with prestigion, microphones.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
And the tinkle love derision. Here about to hear what
n It's time for Barley and Me. Hello. My name
is Nick Retta.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
I'm a standup comedian. What away from these Dalms?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
And this is why I drink with Ben Rice? Hey, Nick,
thanks for doing the show.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
No, all right, thanks for having us, Thanks for getting
my favorite drink.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Also, I WoT we are here. You wanted to be
at Fulsome prison. The best I could do was in California, Statement, attention,
jury and wholesome. We also get the fulsome damn. So
you know we've got a few things that we can
do over here. Absolutely, you know it's definitely the ideal
place to record a podcast.
Speaker 6 (00:59):
Well no, no, they say that, you know, you probably
shouldn't do it at the side of the highway outside
of a place where you could get shot and or
by anyone inside.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yeah, it could be as a prisoner who can tell
all the people who are working at the dam.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
There's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Risks, like a high high risk podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
But I hope everyone here appreciates us, and this is
probably the weirdest place I've.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Drink called coconut water. So thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
You're very welcome, coco Yes, coconut water. And the reason
why I drink this is because my I never used
to be into this. And I also thank you as well.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Because I know that you listen your the least favorite drink.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yes, well, it's part of the podcast. I gotta do
it podcasting.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
The reason why I drink coconut water is because I
am married to a yoga instructor, and I never had
this in my life.
Speaker 7 (01:52):
In my in my will and I met my wife
had a comedy joke comedy Okay. I was then standing company,
she was in the show. And yeah, before I don't know,
like just was never into the health buzz mike it
and I just basically started getting into it. And it's
(02:14):
very good for you, okay.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
And and so now I drink it quite a lot.
It's very good for rehydraining when you're in the heat.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah, more than.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
California Son, outside of penitentiary.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, and we are absolutely down in this because it
is so many it is hot. Like I'm like, you
know what, this is actually tolerable for me right now? Yeah,
because I need it, but it's always it's it's weird.
It's a weird beverage. You can see on the rip
of the glasses, Like, how.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Would you just spread it? Because you normally drink me, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
You normally drink like kind of thing where you can
like describe and taste your sure in find of serve
of drinks.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
If you were to sort of go through this in
terms of giving it like a you know how they
say like fruit forward, yeah, hoppy, hazy, that.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Kind of thing, how would you describe this?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
So this is like a to me, it's kind of
like a milky, chalky like I would prefer if it
would call coconut milk. I know it's not because that's
a different thing entirely, which is the unfortunate part of it.
But it's just it's got this weird texture. But in
its Scott, I love coconut. That's why I'm like, I
surpriably don't like coconut water. Okay, And that's the weird thing.
Speaker 8 (03:19):
Well, this one in particular is a bit milky and
it's very Yeah, it is very milky, and it's kind
of like it is on the book Extra Coconut. Yeah, God,
like I don't know what extra coconut is.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yeah, what it.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Means, I mean it's coconut, Like what you are? They
just milk remilking is what's going on. Yeah, but it's
got that extra Yeah like pretty fans the podcast. Yeah
they're all here, yeah, out here on wholesome damn road
or so the reason why when he's coming.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Out here, it was obviously drink coco. I think grow
up next to some.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Gang members at home in New Zealand, and so one
of I've got really an affiliation.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
With gang members because when I.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Was about nineteen or twenty hours, City of Town thought
that the way to get gangs.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Troubled you out of gangs.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
Was to teach them how to snorkel and I was
the lead person in this campaign, and so I was
the hit snorbuller.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I guess I had to.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
I had to go on the bus and travel to
the beach in New Zealand, and then I watched thirteen
and fourteen year olds troubled youth drive to the beach
in a different car over and I was the one
that was like, maybe maybe I'm the one that needs
(04:53):
to be in on this. I feel like they're doing
way better than me, and they're only thirty fourteen. I
was like a lot older.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
You guys, if you follow me, you'll be catching the
bus in seven years time as well.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, I also went.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
So it was the thought process, well, they're storkling, they
might find wealth in the water, as opposed to I
think that from other people.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Listen, I listen. I don't know what the idea was.
Maybe it was just keeping them busy, like you know
what was that phrase like idle? Yeah, I don't handle
the devil's play thing.
Speaker 8 (05:21):
Absolutely, yeah, yes, but here's the thing been I since
found out maybe seven or eight years later. So after
we did that campaign, okay, there was a major major
drug bust in New Zealand. Okay, and do you know
how they were getting the drugs into the country or
they're swimming them in they we're topping them off shore
(05:44):
and they were getting teams of scuba divers to bring them.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I think, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
What I heard is that you're teaching works like, hey,
you gave them the skills and they supply and so
what happened.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
My job was to teach them how to snorkel. It
wasn't to stop them doing the illegal activity.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
So in hindsight, I don't know, me stopping these guys
joining a gang, I ended up maybe making the gang
even benner.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah, so I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I think that's actually we should be like travels. Yeah, okay,
because they learned it and they put it to you. Yes,
they are lifelong snorkings.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
I mean there were some of those guys are really
tough and they you know, no amount of snorkeling.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Was going to get through to these guys.
Speaker 9 (06:33):
But it just goes to show that if you if
you put in the collapse, as the old saying, if
you put.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Your time underwater, you can you can. You know, it
does pay in the end. It turns out that they
were in league with each other. How they got cool? No,
they showed up in a different car every week pretty much.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
You know, they didn't so when they bought in the hall,
they the like fuller drive.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
Sort of the quad bike that they use was too
small so that to do three or four trips. And
so when they left the stuff on the beach, someone
stumbled across it and then they were like, this doesn't
look good. And then when they came back to pick
it up, there was like a patent way. So as
much as the smokling works, maybe we should have worked.
(07:26):
And I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
In terms of like bring something that we can take
it all. Yes, if you're bringing in this amount of goods,
what container would be the best thing to take this out?
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah, you know, maybe bring all of them at once.
But do you got a whole gang of quad bikes
out there? So yeah, that's tough. Yeah, and then it's like, well,
we do you have access? Is going to be quick? Yeah,
and it can get into the if we're getting in
a chase, we can get off rows. So I can
see why they would do it.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah, right, for sure, absolutely, but also yeah, minimizer exposure.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
But anyways, that's why I wanted to come out drink
some cross through from the prison.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
I don't have really a damn story though, but it
is water related.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
It is water related.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
It is water related. So you've got it true. Yeah,
we've got it all in there in one spot.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
But yeah, no, so thank you.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
And so what's your.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Uh what?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
So this is also a thing. I don't like this
a little chunk.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
And chance the game.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, yeah, it does very look very it's unappealing. It's
very I think if it's warm, it wouldn't be good. No, No,
it almost was in terms about how it was.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
We didn have ice, but it found it pretty quick.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah. So you talk us through your history with coconut
and what when was the first time you thought not
for me?
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I think the first one I had cocon about water
was probably about eight years ago. My girlfriend brought some
home from like Costco or whatever, and I'm like, oh,
I like coconuts, sours of coconuts.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah, she hates coconuts.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
So it didn't make any sense why it was showing
up in our house, right via hurt Okay, right, so
I'm like, well, I like coconut, this must be a.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Nice treat for me. Yeah, I'm like, keep cold, all right,
I'll do that. Yeah, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
So I chilled it down and I opened it up,
but I took a smell like nope, don't care for that,
which would not do.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, not bring the vacan me. It's not not great.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
It's because like coconut has a distinct smell when you're like,
shave coconut, it's like.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
All this doesn't have that. It's just a lot is
loss in the in the process.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
How the process nature of it.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
It's kind of because the thing with coconuts, it already
comes with a container.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
Yeah, it's kind of like booting woods. It's a thing
where it's like they shouldn't be able to sell it
to us, but somehow.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
We fools, like we took the process, the process out.
But also now it's been out of the coconut for
who knows how long exactly, so something's probably changed. Oh yeah,
you know, and you're getting that natural you know, the
coconut ring around it is probably like a much more
welcome and full flavor right up front.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Have you had coconut water straight from the coconut?
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Amazing?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Yeah, Well, is there a difference? Is there a difference?
Is there a difference what you say?
Speaker 4 (10:16):
Yeah, I would say that it's like it's more butchery
than this.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
I feel like it's extra coconut.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Yeah. And weirdly, it's like for something that is growing
from the ground for free.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
It still costs a lot of money when you like So,
I've had a Fiji Fiji coconut, so that's great. I've
had a coconut and tonna in Samoa and the Islands
as well, and yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
It's it doesn't need to be in it in a can't.
But like they could just sell it as a coconut.
It's it's already there, it's.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Ready to go.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Yeah, and if they I think if they were going
to sell anything, it would be just like a coconut opening.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah, like a screw drive, like a wine corn.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah, yeah, why are we doing that? Well, don't we
just put the cool into the coconut and then you
twist it when you're ready? You're really right?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I mean I think it solved it. I think this
is a new business. I think, why are we doing
comedy what? I think there's pretty demand for coconut water.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Yeah, I mean because this isn't like this is bored.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
It's it's plus it's kind of like a cord boody.
It's plastic.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
So they want you to think they're thinking about the environment.
But they didn't have to put it in here. They
could have just given you a coconut.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
They just put and they've even got a coconut on
here with the whole in it.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yeah, to show that it can be done. It can
be done.
Speaker 8 (11:36):
So we just need to put that kind of cook
screw thing in there with a little bit of a
twist and then once you twist it open, it's it's
it's good to go.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
And then that's what you're paying for, yeah, is the
and and.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Then you have coconut for home. Yeah. Yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Probably make coconut oils, coconut you know, creams for your
for your skin.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Yeah. But this is there's a lot of things in here, which,
like they say, is a selling point. But I don't
think this is a selling point.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
So our coconuts are hand picked on thousands of small
farms throughout the tropics.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
But it's kind of like, are you just stealing from
small farmers?
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Right?
Speaker 3 (12:23):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Like this isn't a selling point. I'd rather than be
like this big excess coconut situation.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Because you're also, yeah, it's like they're gonna all be
consistently the same, yes, because they're from the same place.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
It's like way over here and why over here different?
Speaker 4 (12:40):
I mean John, like you know John John down the road.
He might not have you know, he might just be
doing it for the money. He's not doing it for
the passion of coconuts. And you don't know, there's one
it's been responsibly source.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Okay, so this is there's also someone like, it's.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Not in this one, but some coconuts say that a
conflict free coconut.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Okay, I don't know what.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
What this one is full of conflict. Yeah, like we
can't say that there's a lot of conflict.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
There's a lot of conflict, but they.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Protect what's good. Oh that's just what the that's just
for the cardboard packaging.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Yeah, but this isn't like an excess thing.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Prest you look, yeah, I mean press it's completed, its
depleted pants of Yeah, do what I'm really disappointed with
though it's not even a coconut.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Make sure it's on the Yeah. Devastating, Yeah that that
should really be at the top. Yeah, coco that's what
the extra coconut is. Yeah, and also zero decide why
would you put that in there? You got it? Wow?
(13:55):
Almost no calcium, but plenty of vitamin C for the outdoors?
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Would you know what I want to say on here? Coconut?
Speaker 3 (14:05):
I want to see?
Speaker 5 (14:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Yeah, well anyway, that's the what I think. So what
are we gonna call that new coconut business peak?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Ah boy, Oh that's tough.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
So we gotta okay, We'm usually pretty good with things
we've got corkscrew for coconuts, and.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
It's natural, it's organic, it's straight from the sauce.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Yep, it is. Now we're also growing the coconuts, just
making sure we get all the money. Okay, are we
hybrating them something? They're made there when they grow, they
grow with screw already in there. This is our own
money later on.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So we've got to almost like games
wife is the coconut, yeah, whe and jeans wing the
jeans of a corkscrew.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
We have to go into uh some sort of home
tree and h yeah, I cannot yeah, yeah, I gotta
almost made a mistake on the phone and we're doing
I think.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Yeah, so coconut it would just it would have to
be I love a pun.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Yeah I do.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
And that's.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Maybe what we could do CoCork.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Screw a book screwyeah, book screw nuts.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, I mean obviously the other one you could do
is obviously coco nuts.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
Yes, And but how we sell them there's always in twos. Yeah,
so they always look like nuts.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Okay, So yeah, well, you know what you could do
is just have the handle be too, because then you've
got this corse crew is giving you the other piece.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
We could do that is it?
Speaker 10 (15:51):
Yeah, that comes We got two coconuts, grip twists, twist,
and then the corkscrew and the culture and it comes
out of that yeah kind of okay, yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
It does look yeah, and then when you're done, you know,
you'll know when you're finished fish and uh yeah, and
that's it.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I think the cells itself. I feel like we're going
to new business. Yeah, we've.
Speaker 11 (16:17):
Made ourselves feel good about the single thing element. Yep,
we're outside of prison. We've included the surroundings. Now stories
come up with a new business doing great. God, this
is probably one of the greatest podcasts I've been This
is my productive.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
So I think we've done all we can do with this.
And we talked about the coconut.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
I mean, we have so much more we could do,
but uh, we could just say, what what job We're
gonna quit now that we've come up this billion dollar idea.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Oh well, I'm gonna get a straight into Dragon's Team
or the shock tank or whatever it's called in America.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Uh huh. We gotta pitch it.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
But yeah, I'm dropping out of comedy. I'm saying goodbye
to my No, I'll take my family.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yeah, please, I love my family. The new the generational
wealth we.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
Get again this generation. Well no, absolutely the kids.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
We're moving to.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Fiji, Yeah, to cultivate the coconuts, and I'll be over
in Tanga. Yes, we'll have two going franchise. Yeah, We've
got all the islands covered and then we market it
to the world and then the only thing that's gonna
fail us is tarifs.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Oh yeah, damn it.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
I forgot about and our general know how Yeah, I
don't know how our takes to get a coconut plant going.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
That's true. These are in this and these are finding details.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Well, we can find this out. This is the stuff.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
What we do.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
What if I know anything about business is you put
the money down first.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
But you put it, you go all in.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
First, then you worry about final Yeah. It's like the
science science.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
How the possible permits, legalities, all that stuff that all
just falls into place once the money and the investment
is it because otherwise you've.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Been waking up in the morning.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Why are you doing it?
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Because well, I'm doing it because my house is up
the cycle.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
I literally have nowhere to go other than work. Yeah,
so I think we're okay.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
We're good.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
We're good.
Speaker 12 (18:16):
So we weren't going to do that set up in
the islands. Yeah, and if you, oh, this is maybe
a chance to chat to the listener. If you want
to get involved, yeah Petreon, Yeah, send me money.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
And if you don't want to get involved, no status,
a link to this episode you off your first purchase.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
How about that is? How about that?
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Just use promo code found you Uh no, found is
great and it's with a yeah as well. Yeah, why yea,
y Yeah, that's it. We'll get you that, which will
pretty much wipe out one quarter of the tariff price.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
It's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Oh, here we go, yeah, thank you.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Well we can also, how are we just the percentage
of the tariff off?
Speaker 2 (19:04):
So yeah, so you throw code no tariffs to get
the tariff costs removed as a discount code for listening
to this episode.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah, yeah, I think so. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Alternatively, you can just listen to the episode and steal
the idea. Steal the idea and even that. To be honest,
it would be happy with that.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
If the world has if the world could have a
corkscrew made for coconuts, that shaped like a coc.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Then we've done our part that you know, we would
love to have that out of our gripe stuff. Yeah,
as I always say, uh, I've got I've had a
few million dollar ideas.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
So if i could get like seven of them, I'll
be fine. You'll be fine maybe yea, I'll probably be okay.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Yeah. Boy, So when you're you're.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Not setting us a prism hoping no guards come to
shoot you in the head from a slabery from tower.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
What else did you do?
Speaker 5 (20:05):
I do standup comic. Yeah, so I'm currently in Sacramento
obviously does some shows. I've got one show tonight. It's
called the Don't Tell Show. I'm going to tell anybody
where it is or that I'm doing it. Yeah, but
I'm doing that tonight. So my last year, I actually
fly out to back to New Zealand tomorrow. I've really
come over because I've been doing I've been asked by
(20:27):
the Nateland like management team to come over and do
a Nate bighetsis like lineup.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
He owns a company called nate Land Productions. It is
a podcast called the Nate Land Podcast.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
And yeah, they sort of I opened for him a
couple maybe about eighty months ago in New Zealand, and
we yeah, we sort of. I just I had a
clean standup comedy and clean and it was kind of
we had this this reciprocal thing and they said.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Hey, do you want to come over and do this lineup?
Speaker 5 (20:57):
And I was like, yeah, sure, I'll be in Nashville,
and so I sort of built the sort of whole
trip around it, and then this is kind of the
second leg of the trip where I'm doing such I
did the throp More Theater in San Francisco, and then
I did some one of your shows being last.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Night and another one that I another one I know before.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
At thelug Of Brewery. Great shows, fantastic shows. We had
Mickey Windfield, America's got talent finalists.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
Big shows, Ben I only have put on big shows,
and so yeah, so it's been really great and I
don't think this will be the last time I come over. Yeah,
We've got lots of plans to keep coming back, and yeah,
it's just sort of start of a new new thing really,
and America was never really on my radar in terms of.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
A place to come and do stand up.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
Over the last two or three years, especially with the clean.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
The.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
Rise of name and the popular popularity of clean comedy
and the need for us to have.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Put a laugh at the moment. It's kind of really
kind of all the stars are all the lining. So yeah,
I'm super pumped.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
I'm gonna be performing and producing and recording a comedy
special in August fifteen and sixteenth, and you can see
it on my YouTube channel, Necarado Comedian, And yeah, loads
of stuff from there already.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
But yeah, kind of watch the space. The Nateland thing.
I'll tell you a little bit of a story about that.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
So I flew all the way from New Zealand basically
on a Monday to perform at Zany's and Nashville on
a Monday night, and it was recorded and it was
all the big management people.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
It was a big deal.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
Like you had the vice president of Nateland Production there,
Nate bike Atsi's sister was there, so like family members
were there.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
It was a big deal. John Krest was there.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
He's got like millions of millions of followers, got Brian
Bates who's on the Nateland podcast, Aaron Webber who was there,
all of these big names. And then ten minutes before
I'm about to go at stage, Nashville has this massive
down poor and the.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Power goes out and all the comedians are in there.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
They're kind of like because they're all sort of local comedians,
they're all sort of real chill, and they're just go,
oh yeah, and I go, does this happen often?
Speaker 4 (23:14):
He goes, oh, not really.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Then they start talking and then they're like, oh, maybe
we'll still get paid even though we haven't haven't done
the gig. And I'm sitting there going this, I've literally
flowing this like else. For this show to be ten
minutes away from this, it can't end like this. It
has to go ahead even if we don't do the filming,
and I have to perform in front of these people
(23:38):
just to show them when I go, and they say
it never normally lasts.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
More than fifteen minutes, so I'm like, okay.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Half an hour later, it's still no power, and then
they say, Okay, we're still going.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
To do the show, but it's going to be with
like no lights, no microphone.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yes, okay, and they're done, yes, And so I'm like,
at least I get to perform, right, what what you
look like.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Exactly?
Speaker 1 (24:05):
There's no prejudice as it would just purely be you know,
if they wanted to put me on serious extent. This
is a good way to test it to see if
it works as an audio format. And MC goes out
there in the dark. Someone had a torch.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
I think that was the only light that they had,
and then Ghost does pretty well actually considering it's in
the dark. And then a minute before he's about to
introduce us on stage, the lights come on. Everyone goes cheers,
and then just about he's just about to introduce the
first comedian.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
And then the microphone comes on and it's a mass
around of course, and then then it goes ahead.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
I record it and it goes gang Bus and I
don't know what it is about, you know, audiences thinking
in the darkness, and then it was like does anything
we'll do up But the audience was so hot after
that and it went really well.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
So I can't wait for it to be released.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
But that's going to be out soon and it will
be released on nate Land Productions and I'll put it
on my YouTube channel as well.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
So yeah, so it's been a heck of a week.
Speaker 10 (25:10):
That was literally on Monday, yeah, Saturday, Yeah, and the
wild Saturday Tuesday, You're a truck Barden.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Mill Valley.
Speaker 4 (25:20):

the cork screen, of course not it's going to take us.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
I'll do my market research.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
They don't ham it, which means again, yeah hold o'clock.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Oh yeah, that could be the name of the business.
But yeah, so it's been a heck of a week.
And then yeah, log off Brewery. Then we did the
Geist House and then off don't tell, don't tell anyone,
and then off to San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Catch you.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
This is the rock and roll Last Dog.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
I will catch a butt train to San Francisco Airport
and then wait for eight hours until my flight leaves
at ten. Hell yeah, yeah, I think you'll fly for
fourteen hours thirteen hours.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Ah yeah, pretty good for just guessing out of here. Yeah,
pretty good.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
But yeah, but that's that's the story. So yeah, no,
thanks for having me, So thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Oh no, problem.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
Out of all of the experiences I've had this whole
last week, this is really not the most random.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Yeah, thank you so much for doing it. I appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
No worries, and hopefully it recorded and we've got a
couple of angles.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Potentially it's recording film. We're doing great. Yeah, look at it. Yeah,
we get at a whole podcast and I just got
to offload it somehow.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
