(00:28):
good senior seasons. So we're gonnabreak all of that down big time,
big time moves for these guys.Even though a lot of charts are out
right now. A lot of fishon the line for Larry Johnson, James
Londis, some of these guys.So we're gonna get into all that and
Nevada buckets back. So as always, we appreciate you guys. If you

hours a day. It's our website. If you guys love this chat and
you love this podcast, it isit's a must have. It's a concierge
service essentially for Ohio State football, and we'd love to have you guys on
there. We're on there twenty fourhours a day and our site is absolutely
going crazy right now with inside informationon the team, with recruiting information.
(01:34):
So if you guys really want tous going on inside of Ohio State football
in side the Hates Center, joinBuckeye scoop dot com. Uh. With
that being said, as always,I'm going to bring in my good friend
at Nevada Buck Nevada where to sorryJustin. We got Justin Hill. We
got really Pettison. We've got uhWe've got DB's, we've got linebackers,
(01:55):
We've got guys all over the board. David Sanders, Junior LTU pick,
You've got a bunch of fresh informationthat we were to talk about in pre
show. Where would you like tostart, my friend, Well, I
guess we'll start chronologically. Let's startwith the with the big in state commitment
coming from Justin Hill. All signsare pointing to Ohio State. Could he
(02:19):
go elsewhere? Sure, we've seenwe've seen weirder things happen. Will he
go go somewhere else? I reallydon't think so. Ohio State doesn't really
really doesn't think so. Is thatcollective really doesn't think so? So I
think we've got this one. Ithink Ohio States set to get another big,
big commitment in Wentwood linebacker edge JustinHill. And I'm excited about it,
(02:47):
and I'm excited about every commitment, but this would be an, you
know, again, another premier instate defensive player going to Ohio State.
Just a ridiculous run of defensive playersgoing to the the buck Eyes. You
hate losing NY and State kids, but you always love it when you get
them. So this would be agood one. So I don't want to
(03:07):
just gloss. So I don't wantto I said, we talked about this
one and then we move on tothe next topic, because I don't,
you know, I want to sayfor every you know, potential commitment,
every potential kid, and uh,this is a kid that I liked for
a long time in Ohio, dieslike for a long time, and I
think he's going to be a bigtimer and I think the Buckers are going
to get him. And I hopethat's not the kiss of death in the
(03:29):
twenty twenty four recruiting world. ButI feel reasonably good about you know,
uh where we sit with with withJustin Hill the kiss of death, I
mean, because you know, again, I like this kid a lot.
I think any kid you have tosound to us an sc any kid that
goes se and modern times is crazyfor Defense because they were so like,
just horrifically bad last year the gutof the staff. It's an all new
(03:53):
crew now, and I think thatwhen you look at a you know what
you potentially could be, you know, working with what he's done with Nick.
But second, we got his filmrolling right now for this The Other
Arm YouTube channel I love his explosion, I love his length. I don't
think we can take in state recruitsfor granted, with potentially Trade McNett going
(04:14):
to Oregon, Dorian brew going toOregon as well. So I think that
you know, you got to winthese guys. And this is a kid
that's very he's very very twitched up. He's very very good. He fills
a big need. I mean, you can't take enough edge rushers on your
roster, and that's what he is. And we've had a lot of success
at Wentwood's Jermane Matthews junior obviously itwas fantastic. Miyan Williams good player.
(04:38):
So I think that this is goingto be a good ad for the program.
You know, again, when you'rerecruiting against SC and the SEC squolls
to land a guy and he's anin state guy, you can't lose that
one. It doesn't matter who you'reyou are as a as a coach,
and you know with with l J, I mean LJ as much as people
wanted to tar and feather him lastyear and say he was done and he's
(04:59):
stung and he took all defensive tacklesand no DNS or whatever, like he's
He's a guy that I mean,he seems to keep closing on all these
kids that he really wants, So, you know, shout of adding Gequem
Sciar to this crew. This isgonna be a you know, a four
or five person class that's gonna bereally really talented and a lot of twitch
and a lot of a lot ofspeed and a lot of passership ability.
So I love this kid. Ilove watching his tape, especially what they
(05:24):
showed him doing things other than notingthe past or just being explosive on offense
as well. He's uh, he'sa difference maker. Really excited about him.
He'll be a buck Eye tomorrow andI think it's gonna be. And
again, you know, unless youknow, something insane happens tomorrow, he's
gonna be a buck Eye. AndI love love watching his phone. But
he's he is a twitchy, explosivedude. And this is year where it's
nice to have a couple of guyslike this in our class and a couple
(05:46):
of guys that are supreme athletes inthe state of Ohio that are going to
be buck guys. And again,I always feel like these guys, I've
said it a hundred times, andyou guys can quote me on it,
but I always feel like a kidlike this, if he was in a
southern state like Georgia, r Florida, would probably add another starter his name,
probably four and a half stars,a little bit higher rated. But
when you're in Ohio, you don'tget as much visibility, you don't get
as much hype, so you don'tget as many offers as a lot of
(06:10):
these other kids here. This kid'sgot to offers for basically everybody. But
I think that he's got a talentto be a top five d M in
the country. And you watch thetape and you watch the explosion and the
playmaking ability, and I'm really excitedabout him. Any other feed back in
Nevada before we can get into someless sure prospects that we can have people
a little bit more excited about someof these guys. Well, you know,
(06:33):
obviously sure well aware. I reallygood USC contacts, specifically with USC's
nil thing, and I asked themabout Justin Hill and they told me they
don't think they're getting Justin Hill.So if it's not Ohio state in USC,
they don't think they're getting Justin Hill. So I'd say that's a pretty
good indicator of that Ohios scenario.I did take a trip to Oregon.
(06:55):
Could be a I mean, thatwould be the Oregon. Can you imagine
if Oregon took Brew and McNutt andJustin Hill, I mean talk about shots
fighter in the Big Ten, that'dbe something else. And could something like
that happen? Hey, you never, you know, the bag's big enough
and they're due to you know, maybe, But I don't think Ohio State
(07:18):
feels really good about this one.And we're all gonna find out tomorrow.
That's the big time commitment coming froma guy that Ohio State thinks they're getting.
We think they're getting, and hopefullythey are landing because Yeah, like
you said, he's twitched up,he passed. He's a guy that can
get after the pass rusher, andin today's game, that's that is the
(07:38):
game is getting after the pass rushure, defending the past, and this guy
can this guy can do a littlebit of all of that. I totally
totally agree. I don't know, you want to get into the Riley Pettish
saga. Nex He's a kid thatI know. Ohio State it feels really
good about I definitely don't feel likethey're They're some being able to say,
(07:59):
oh, he's sc or over,but they don't feel like he's they're out
of it on yet. He's aguy that's got a he's an explosive cat.
I'm gonna toss this film up herereal quick. That yeah, it
seems like sc For a while. They Petijohn as well over Texas, A
and M and Texas, which iskind of crazy given that he's from Texas
and he's considering SC in Ohio.Cate, but what are those rally pets.
(08:20):
I love this kid. I knowthat he's the number one linebacker on
Ohio States board. How you feelingrall, Well, that's part two of
the USC collective thing. Where whereason Hill they're they're like, no,
we're not getting him. On RileyPettijohn, they're not sure. They're not
sure now that that's not a no, but they're not sure they're getting that
(08:43):
that you know, they're not that'snot a hay Nevada. Yeah, we
got him, you'll see. Youknow he's in he's in the back.
So I can tell you that fromthe top guy at USC's uh and ile
collective, they're not sure so I'mkind of you know, I'm going to
continue to dig for information on that, but you know, I think I'm
pettige on this One's kind of swungwildly. Now, generally when things swing
(09:07):
wildly in the recruiting world, thatdoesn't mean they're actually swinging wildly. They
can just people could just be gettingdifferent information and reacting to it. But
from USC's perspective, he's not inthe barn. So yeah, you know,
don't get don't give up, hope, keep positive vibes, will continue
to dig for updates. But thelatest from US season I el collected they
(09:28):
are not one hundred percent sure onRiley Pettijohn Well, and like, you
know, I hate to like saythis to people because I know people are
just like, oh, Kirk, you're a homer, played at Ohio State,
two degrees from Ohio State, allAmerican, all this other stuff.
And I'm like, well, youknow, because someone commits you know,
tomorrow or Saturday or whatever it be, whether it's justin hill Rally, pet,
(09:50):
like, you got to keep recruitingthese guys because again, a kid
might be like, well, man, I love that see visit and I
love that Los Angeles sunshine or Iloved Ohio State or whatever. But you
know, teams have to perform inseason. And I know that people like
oh Kirk doesn't matter if teams winare losing the season because wants to commit
whatever. But it's like, youknow, say, say Riley Pettishn goes
(10:15):
tack at Curtis on us attack. It was a kid that I loved,
knew his high school coach to dohis uncle very well. I think he's
a really good player, but hegoes to s C instead of you know,
Ohio State where should have went. And after a year, you know,
they give up eighty million points, they fire Alex grand Shore recruited him,
They fire that entire staff that recruitedhim, and he had supportally goes
(10:37):
in Wisconsin. So I mean, you know, like like I think that
a kid that picks sc right nowall to play defense. And we said
this yesterday to that when we talkedfor you know, the eighty hours a
day that we talked, I waslike, you know, I just don't
know how in a good conscience,Like if I was a father, if
my kid was Riley Pettijohn or somesort of that type of ability type kid
how could you ever send your kidto sc given how poor they were on
(11:01):
defense, because he's you know, they're not going to get you in the
right situations. I don't know howwell they can coach. I know they've
got all new staff. So again, you guys don't have to school me
on the fact that they fired everybody. But you know, Lincoln Riley when
he showed up, he had ablank check to bring whoever he wanted,
and he hired Alex grind who wasatrocious at Ohio State and he's atrocious somewhere
else he's been. And you know, so there's no guarantee that he got
(11:22):
this new hire right as opposed tolike, you know, if you come
to Ohio State, well, thenumber two defense of the country last year,
and we're probably gonna be better thisyear. And if you play,
you know, when he turns onhis Xbox and plays you know NCAA twenty
five, Ohio State has got thenumber one defense in the entire video game.
Because again, Jim Knowles is awizard and James lorniis is I think
the best you know, young coachingprospect in the country. So you know,
(11:46):
I I don't know, like Iget like hiss commit And again I'm
I'm the guy that like, youknow, if this was my son,
I'd say, son, you're gonnapick a score before August, before we
start, two days before we startthe season. Because you know, if
you talk to these coaches, luckhim the hey coach, my kids committing.
And again, a lot of thesethese guys they're not ultra ethical or
whatever. But if you say, hey, coach, we're gonna commit to
(12:07):
you in August, you know,if my son gets hurt in two days,
blows as a cl you know, like the varsity of the Blues injury
where you know the kid Johnny moxyback the closest supposed to go to Florida
State and said, oh he blewsmee out. He's not allowed to good
to Florida State it anymore. Helost a scholarship. Like in reality,
like any any kid that hasn't developedhitting injury will get a scholarship for his
(12:31):
school at a minimum. If hecould, for some reason have some sort
of injury, you can never playfootball again. So I get why a
lot of these big time kids commitearly and commit in August, because if
you have something in camp or inuh in you know your regular season,
you can you start your school plaidfor so I I mean, I don't
I think any kid that doesn't commitbefore their season. So again, I
(12:54):
say this as a guy who didcommit till December. I put through my
whole season and got through it anddidn't tear my cl on. But I
think this is kind of playing withfire. And again, recruiting twenty years
ago as much different than it isnow. But I think that these guys,
you know, committing it doesn't meanthat it's gonna work out right.
And again I always point to CalebDowns, who we did I think twenty
(13:15):
straight podcasts on Caleb Downs coming toOhio State last year, because I was
just like, you know, ifi'm his dad, his dad is an
NFL star running back, you know, ten years in the NFL. And
I see that you're going from NickSaban coaching YouTube, the Washington coaching staff
coaching, and Washington gave up threehundred yards on the ground to Michigan.
(13:37):
There's no way I'm leaving my sonin that defense. There's no chance.
And you go to Ohio State andyou've got, well, this is a
really good defense, really good passrush, a lot of really good young
players like Mike can flourish in thathe's not gonna be put in bad situations.
And I think that that's the thingwith Riley Pets And I'm like,
look, you know, it mightbe beautiful and wonderful to go to Los
(13:58):
Angeles and see the song girl goingto visit and you know, it's it's
a beautiful part of the world. But at the same token, like,
you know, you still got togo play football, and they were so
bad on defense last year that theywere impossible to watch. And I think
that, you know, if I'mRiley, I'm I'm look at I mean,
I would if I was Rally Pettishon I'd be on Instagram reaching out
to Tacking Curtis and say, hey, what did you think? I know
(14:18):
it's that all new staff, butwas all it was cracked up to be
because you could have gone to OhioState and you'd be in the two deep
this year and instead you're you know, at Wisconsin now and you were atrocious
last year. That's just my thoughtsabout it. Again. I know you
evaluate some of the long game withthis stuff, but I really love everything
about Rally Pettish and as the numberone linebacker on our board. I feel
(14:39):
good about him coming to a highstate. I feel great. But if
he doesn't, I know that we'renot going to stop calling him and recruiting
him. And you know, againthe figure about when you get a kid
to commit this early like s seeyou could or we could or whatever,
you still got to go out andplay great defense and you still got to
go out and show how you'll featurehim. And you know, this is
just h This is you know, like like a soft commitment at this point.
(15:03):
And I think these kids are allstill attainable just because you know,
if a team falls on its faceand they stink in their defenses one hundred
and twenties in the country, thenI think that kids, I know that
kids will reconsider so uh as mythought is that any thoughts anything else out
on Riley Pettigani will start taking thissome super chests. Well, I just
I mean, I'll just say it. I think that I think any offensive
(15:28):
player that goes to USC, Iabsolutely completely understand because I think a lot
of Lincoln Riley as an offensive mind. He may not be a great head
coach, he may not be agood administrator, he's certainly not demonstrated a
proficiency defensively, but offensively, man, they got there. They're they're very,
(15:48):
very good, and I respect that. Having said that, any defensive
player that goes to USC, Ireally have to question. I just have
to And I do not understand. We've talked about it many times about how
you know, you know, whenyou're an elite football player, you have
the opportunity to create, you know, generational wealth for you, for your
(16:12):
family, for people to kind ofcome, you know after you, and
you know, are you going toreally take a chance on that on a
defensive scheme that's not working? Andin US is the definition of not working.
They do not know what they're doingdefensively. And will they figure it
out the ship maybe? I don'tknow, But you know, who in
(16:33):
their right mind would you know, commit to playing in a system like that
where you know you're giving up fiftypoints a game and six hundred yards of
offense. It makes absolutely no senseto me. It would be a real
big red flag for me if akid did that. So I think these
things have a way of working themselvesout. I've always thought good about Petti
John to Ohio State. I likeI know Ohio State loves him as a
(16:56):
player. We'll see if it worksout, you know. I mean,
but I think that whatever happens,it'll work out the way it's supposed to
do. And the house that'll befine either way. But I found it
interesting, Like I said, asI was digging, because i'd can the
last twenty four to forty hours.I wasn't sure about the signs house.
It was kind of given off aboutit. I wasn't sure about what,
(17:17):
you know, warehouse that was standing. But I'm telling the USC does not
feel like they have this one onlockdown. And that's that's at least an
indicator that people should should keep hopealive through the sixth of July, which
I have to believe is commitment day. Yeah. And you know, if
there's one thing that you guys shouldhave learned over the last I mean,
(17:37):
you could say ten months, it'snot like twelve months is like, you
know, even if we don't geta kid, even if something goes wrong
and we don't get Caleb downs orwe lose Dylan or Dylan RelA and we
end up getting Julian saying, likeyou know, with the portal, like
there's a lot of these kids that'llgo somewhere for four or five months and
they'll bail because they don't like it, they don't like where they're at there
(18:00):
in bad situations. Again, tackat Curtis was a classic because I really
liked attack It. I knew alot of his close confidants, and they
loved to Ohio State. They wantedto Gohia Sate, but he went to
SC He was enamored by, youknow, the old Trojan lifestyle and we're
going to bring it back and we'regoing to be dynamic on defense. And
he went out there and played alot. He was like a quasi starter,
(18:23):
and you know, they gave upeight million points and they fired his
coordinator that brought him in Alex Grinch, and I don't know, it was
it was really bad, you know. And with tack It, I think
that, uh, it's a like, I don't know how a kid could
you could send a superstar linebacker who'sagain a lot like he's not quite as
(18:44):
athletic as Ryley, where he's aten to seven hundred meter dashguard. He's
elite elite athleticism. But Tacket couldfly and he had great film. And
I know Jim Knowles really wanted him, and you know, he he made
a bad decision and you know,we didn't really have We kind of went
after him a little bit when hehit the portal, but like we didn't
really have room with the end forhim at that point. So he ended
up going to Wisconsin. And I'msure we'll see him on the schedule when
(19:04):
we see uh fick in the guys. But like I said, I like
this kid. Again. I know, Nevada's an I all contact at SC
and he is is he is aslegit as legit as legit could ever be,
and he is a monster. Souh that gives me a little bit
of excitement about what's going on.But you know, like I said,
(19:25):
when these kids commit places the teams, I think so need to cash in
because this kid doesn't have any ideahow good SE's defense is going to be.
I mean, the assemble to staffthat had, you know, obviously
some credentials, but they got togo perform this year and they got to
go say, Okay, this iswhat you're gonna be. This is how
we're gonna get you the league.Because if you can't develop this kid and
(19:45):
put him in the league, thenthere's a good chance you're gonna lose him
even if he commits or whatever. And I think that that's something that hurts
some you know, our safeties coach, you know Macareni, he's like,
he doesn't really have anything that he'sput on paper, you know, when
we lose some of these dbs.So when we lose you know McNutt and
you know Dorian Brew who's a cornerwho I think will end up being a
safety. Like he he doesn't havea ton of you know, when when
(20:07):
he's recruiting these guys, like whoare the guys you've put into the league?
Who are the guys that you've coachedat Ohio State, Like, he
doesn't have anybody. So I thinkhe has to go out and really perform
this year, similar to Jim Knowlestwo years ago when he came in and
you know, people questioned his systemand his system turned out to be excellent.
But I think that you know, when you're that that that new car
smell coach, that new car youcoordinator, it can be really tough,
(20:32):
you know, because you're you're recruitingkids and people are excited about you because
of what you did at a lesserschool. But you know, if you
go out at s C and stinkit up, then all of a sudden,
uh, I think a lot ofthose awards can be revealed, and
I think a lot of those guysaren't going to be quite excited, and
frankly, I think a lot ofthose guys can decommit. I mean SC
has lost a ton of commitments overthe last two weeks, So you know,
if I'm Riley petish on, I'mjust kind of kind of why is
(20:52):
everybody leaving? Like why why amI walking into a burning building right now
and committing when everybody else is runningout? And I'm talking like high four
star and five star type kids aredecommitting and flipping right now from there.
So I think it'd be very interestingthat any final thoughts and we will we
will hit up our super shots. No, just I do want to mention
(21:15):
third third running back potentially in theclass after the Jordan Davison kind of cooling
whatever they want to whatever you wantto call it, but they've got a
guy coming in July twenty ninth outof Chattahoo to Chicai Mills Night. So
I think Ohio State is bound anddetermined to bring a third running back into
(21:37):
this class. I know that that'show they had told Bo Jackson that it
was going to be a three runningback class, So I think that that's
what they're trying to do. ButChicai Mills Night might be that guy.
Sounds like a business trip and hecould be a guy, but certainly in
name to keep a keep an eyeon, because I think that that might
be something that gets done. Whatare your thoughts on a three running back
(22:00):
classics? We've never done that before, so it's gonna be very interesting to
see kind of how that shakes out. I mean again, I I think
that when you do that, it'salmost like it's an extended tryout to see
how these guys do from August toDecember, just knowing that you're gonna lose
one of them for sure. Butlike, you know, three running backs,
that's a lot. It's kind oflike you know, when you take
two quarterbacks, you know one's gonnaleave ninety percent of the time. But
(22:23):
it's three running backs too much?Or is this is this just the new
normal in the era of the transferportal and roster management and being able to
make you know, again, somethingthat nobody talks enough about it. Something
that you know you nailed early onis that you really can have infinite scholarships
now because of the way you canpay for a walk on to go to
(22:45):
school legally. You know, LorenzoStalles Junior as a kid that was basically
an eighty six scholarship, hes awalk on, but they paid for us.
There's no difference in designation between himbeing a walk on. And it's
because you know, a collective canpay for all the school board uh room
board tuition like everything, so henever sees the dime of it. And
(23:08):
and that's the way that you canreally you can grow the roster to ninety
ninety five guys legally, which againthat is that's probably the biggest advantage that
you know, the haves can figureout. It was like, hey,
you know, we can offer ascholarship to this kid and maybe give him
some meniye owl money to say, hey, you know what we're gonna offer
you being a preferred walk on,which again now a preferred walk on I
(23:30):
means hey, we'll pay for yourschool. So you know, if if
if I'll see what came to memy senior year and said, Kirk,
we don't have a scholarship for you, but we'll let you be a preferred
walk on where everything will be thesame except it would be called a walk
on. Plus we'll give you onehundred thousand dollars for taking that deal.
I'd be like, sign me up, call me a walk on. I
don't care. So I was like, so I see anything, I've got
(23:52):
the same guarantees. I can saidanything. Yep, but we're gonna have
to call you a walk on.You're gonna have to be a walk on,
and but everything else is square,Like did I'll be a walk on
all day if you guys a gonnapay me a little bit of scratch to
be a walk That's that's what thebig schools like O High State are doing
now. So what are your thoughtsof the next again? I think that
that's a reason why you can takea third running back is with that potential
(24:12):
kind of super walk on tag thatI'll call it. Were like, like
I said, Lorenzel's junior and someof these guys that are there are guys
that you you they're kind of onthe fence about getting a scholarship to But
then all of a sudden, whenyou could have you know, the foundation
pay for their school and their tuition, or eighteen seventy or whoever. It
changes the math substantially. What areyour thoughts on that. Well, I
(24:36):
think the thing that we didn't talkabout is just the new reality of the
sixteen seventeen game schedule. And Ithink that's where the thing that we're having
trouble getting our minds wrapped around isthat, you know, we've played twelve
thirteen game schedules have been down toour fourth and fifth running back. So
next year you're you're literally in asituation where you've got two running backs next
(24:59):
year, James People's and Sam DixonWilliams or whatever. I mean, that's
it. That's your running backs,So you better bring in three just to
have bodies. And you know, that's a position, you know, it's
the most often you know, injuredposition on the field. It's a position
that ends up every carrier on theground with two or three guys at weigh
three hundred punds laying on top ofyou. And I think it's an absolute
(25:25):
necessity. So I think we've gotto modify our thinking about this. Given
the length of the season. Theseason's never been longer we've had Ohio state
national champions, so that we lookat the wall of Ohusite champions that won
by going ten and oh or nineand one or eleven, eleven and oh
whatever. And now I mean, you're gonna have to play sixteen or seventeen
(25:48):
games and the last six are goingto all be against ranked upon its,
so you better have bodies. Ithink three is going to be, you
know, three with five active unningbacks in your room, You're gonna need
to have at least two quarterbacks, probably three. And I think the game
of CODG football has changed. Doesn'tmean it's worse, but it's changed.
(26:11):
And I think it's our thinking isgonna have to change. But I think
I think three running backs is rightgiven the realities of football in twenty twenty
four. I think you're spot on. I think that, you know,
again with the with the transition,I think that it's it's like the you
know, the forty nine ers backin the day sifting through the gold,
(26:32):
you know in California, where they'vegot the little thing and they're panning around
and like, well, which oneof these three guys are, which one
is the guy and which one isthe backup guy? And then who's the
third guy that we can portal out, you know, because that's the thing
is like when you you know, the Nevada saying that I'm gonna put on
a T shirt at our next dropa chip in a chair. It's like,
you know, you take three runningbacks and they show up in January,
which is what Messi's kids will do. They go through winter conditioning,
(26:55):
they go through stuff with coach Mick, they get the spring ball, so
you can see how they work, how they grind, how they know,
how they can learn the playbook, you know, how they they act in
game situations in the past, gamepass blocking, whatever, and you know,
and from there, like there's alwaysnatural separation at running back. There's
guys that can do it, thatare excellent at it, and there's guys
that you know, maybe aren't quiteas good. They're not the Ohio State
(27:17):
stuff, and they can go elsewhere. So I think that, you know,
that's gonna be something really important forCarlos Laughlin and Chip Kelly and Ryan
Day to figure out. Mickey Muratti, if you take three, like you
know, you're probably gonna keep twoand once what will be gone within a
year. There's like almost no doubtbecause you'll figure out that he's the third
guy. And you know, asmuch as you want this to be like
(27:38):
utopia and everybody gets the same reps, like at some point in springball or
in camp, like guys will getless reps than other guys. And you
know, if guys really step upin are fantastic, then eventually you know,
they could you know, supplant olderguys and become you know, the
dude. You know, I meanBo Jackson could be in tandem with James
People's next year as are you know, one two running back and you know,
(28:00):
I mean that could force out SamWilliams Dixon or vice versa. You
know, Sam Louarius Diickson becomes aguy and James People's sleeve like whatever,
and then you know the younger guys. So I think it's fascinating. And
again I think that in the Portalera as much as we talk about apparentess
for it, so I was like, you have to take an extra guy
just to try him out and auditionthem. And that's the benefit of the
(28:22):
super walk on is like you know, you can take another guy and hey,
you're a walk on for your andsee how you do and see if
you develop, and if you're good, we'll keep you and you'll be a
full scholarship, or you can headto Kentucky or Pitt or whatever. So
I'm really really excited about it.Got a couple of super chats, so
I appreciate you guys as always.Uh oh God, here we go,
(28:44):
Nevada. Your back. So ofcourse we've got high coups for Nevada.
I see Buck guy think's been offfrom everything for ridding a high coup for
us. I appreciate that high coupfor Nevada. Mason Blue did spy,
Harbaugh, Connor and the boys.Wait for them to fry, so it's
five seven five. So the hardpart about this is like when it's written
(29:06):
out on our chat, it's supposedto be five syllables. So Mays and
Blue did spy, so there's five, Harbaugh, Connor and the boys,
so there's seven. And then waitfor them to fry, so there's five.
So that's that's how it's correctly done. I'm sure that he wrote it
out correctly, but when you're readingit on a chat, the paragraphs don't
(29:27):
match the way that they're supposed tobe. For a haikup so again,
let me try this again. Maysand Blue did amazingly, did spy.
There's five Harbaugh, Connor and theboys seven wait for them to fry Nevada.
We have people superre chatting is haikusnow, so we've reached the pinnacle
of civilization. This is this isliterally like the very end game of civilization.
(29:51):
Five we get the giant death Robotwalking around and shooting the barbarians on
on North America or on Africa orwhatever. So this is where we're at
now. This is like nex tothe giant death Robot and the you know,
the oil tankers and the spaceship togo to Apple c Centauri on CID
five. This is where we're atnow. We have people sending it's hi,
Qus, and I have to makesure that I count the syllables correctly.
(30:12):
But what are your thoughts on that? That is fantastic? I see
buck out again. This is whyI love this show because the super chess
you guys send are incredible and they'reso hilarious. So thank you for that.
And this is our first official hiku, I believe. But your thoughts,
yeah, I just I mean thisis a boogie show. I mean
(30:32):
like you're like wondering, like,Hey, what can I get from the
show that I can't get somewhere else? Man, this is high end.
This is definitely uh, this isdefinitely s tier type of stuff. But
when you're getting hiku. And Iactually kind of understood that one. So
that's one of the first hikus thatI've actually understood, and I think it
kind of made sense. I dowish that they would run. Can haikus
rhyme or they're not supposed to run? Can they rhyme? I? I
(30:56):
think so, I think that,But again I don't wanna I don't want
to be wrong on that because Idon't want like a samurai to shove my
head or show up in my dreamsand splice my head off. Because Kirk,
you said that a Japanese you know, yeah, II qu can get
it rhyme, I would think,so. I mean, if it rhymes,
it'll land us riley pettish on.Then I hope it rhymes. Yeah,
let's go. I'm just saying likethat's the thing is, like,
(31:18):
I don't I don't know if ithas to rhyme or if it can rhyme,
or if you get more points withuh, you know with the Samurai
Overlords, if it doesn't rhyme. So anybody that's an expert on Japanese culture,
please let me know know what I'dlike when I want to a five
to seven to five hiku. Iwanted to make sense, I wanted to
rhyme, and I wanted to yeahand be topic on Ohio State. And
(31:44):
if we get one of those beforethe end of the night, I believe
we'll be over thirty one thousand memberson YouTube and we'll get Riley Pettijoh.
So we're offering both of those thingsthat if we can get any of that,
I want to rhyming hiku before theend of the show. Well,
I will say that I again, this is full disclosure. I've won more
(32:05):
Games of Civilization with Japan than anyoneprobably on this earth on civil Civilization Revolution.
So I like them because they've gotred is their color, and they
get extra food from the ocean. So again I'm a big japan guy.
So on CIEV that's my squad. So again I know if you guys can
let me out. Yeah, ButI mean I know that China is good
(32:28):
too, and Russian. So nowI'm Korea because they've got that science advantage
science fus. Yeah, yeah, the one the one that I plan on
my phone. In Civilization Revolution Japan, when you build a city next to
the water, you get like afree harbor, so you get food at
every water square, so your technologyis always crazy high. So I uh
but so God and plus their colorsare red, so it looks like,
(32:51):
Ohio, say so big fan,so please let us let me know about
the taikus and uh again Novada.Did you watch the Last Samurai on FX?
You mean you mean Age of Samuraior the Last Samurai was the movie
with Tom Cruise. No, therewas a Samurai or show that was just
on FX like this in the lastsix months. Yeah, I haven't.
(33:14):
No, I wanted to do that. I have not. I watched Age
of Samurai on Netflix, which waslike a documentary thing, but this was
like, okay, okay, okay, okay. So it's called Showgun.
Excuse me, like Showgun? Whoshow except it's called Showgun. But it
is incredible, like it's something thatshould have been on HBO and totally graphic.
But it's pretty graphic on FX.I mean, I'm not gonna lie.
(33:36):
I was like, I can't believethis is on cable TV, but
it was. It was fire.I mean it was it's you know,
it's not Thrones or Sopranos, butit's probably one notch down from that,
but really really good show. Soshout out to the showguns, the scoop
Showguns. That might be another Tshirt that we come up with. So
let's dig into Oh my god,Kay Weston, I appreciate. I'm gonna
(34:00):
get to that. Stuper Check saysthey're not supposed to rhymes allegedly, So
again you got Super Chatt and maccu'sWe're the Dream. We're gonna let the
dream keep rolling, kid until weget another super Chat. But I will
put you out next Novada Cordero Jackson, thank you for the fire. Appreciates
my friend. Six to ten Buckeyeswill go in the in the first to
(34:22):
early second round. In the nextdraft would be eleven. But Downs has
one more year and JJ has twomore years. So yeah. Uh.
There was a very interesting mock draftthat Matt Miller put out from from ESPN.
Matt Miller's the guy that I've knownfor a long time, and it
was funny when we were getting toplay the University of Alabama and uh,
(34:45):
the Sugar Bowl. I remember Iwas texting Matt Miller or it might have
been tweeting or directed best tea whatever, but he's a guy that you know,
he's starting off in the in thedraft thing. And even though for
a while and he had a reallygood site called NFL draftscout dot com that
was by far the best NFL mostaccurate mock drafts that I love mock drafts
and that kind of thing. AndI told him, I was like,
look, look out for a guynamed Zekiel Elliott and Matt could voucher this.
(35:08):
I said, look, I thinkEzekiel it is gonna be the next
Marshall Falk, which is gotty becauseMarshall Fulk's a first ballot Hall of Fame
running back, Super Bowl winner. But you know, when when Zeke was
a sophomore, I was like, that's what he is. He could run.
And again I know that people saythat's lazy because it's from Saint Louis
or whatever, but with his speed, his power, his ability to catch
(35:28):
the ball past block, I waslike, he's in next to Marshall Falk.
Zeke loved Marshall Fulk too, becausehe's a Saint Louis kid, but
he looked at him and then youknow, Zeke maybe like great, So
you ran for you know, eightmillion yards against Alabama and obviously the game
against Organ he was sensational. SoI've always liked Matt. But check his
mock draft out on ESPN dot com. He's got JT going in the first
(35:52):
round in the twenties. He hasty Leek going I think like twenty four.
I think JT might have been goingtwenty two. He thought I'll put
a Denzell bark at thirty two tothe Chiefs, but he didn't. But
there's a lot of Buckeye flavor.I actually had Quinn Schewn Judkins going like
twenty seven, I believe to theDallas Cowboys, which would be sensational obviously
(36:14):
for quinch On. But yeah,Nevada. What do you think six to
ten of the first sixty picks beingBuckeyes. I mean ten might be a
little rich, but I can definitelysee six to eight. What are your
thoughts? My thoughts are that depressesme to think about that because I've thought
about that, and there's how Imean, it's gonna be one of those
(36:36):
bittersweet moments when yeah, it's we'renot going to pull the Michigan thing where
we get three guys taken in roundseven or whatever the heck it is,
and Hardball keeps trading up picks totake Michigan players, so you can pad
the stats about the number of guystaken, which is exactly what happened,
which is so cringey that I can'teven tell you. But no, it's
(37:00):
we're gonna have high quality guys goingall over the draft, and frankly,
it's gonna make me sad because I'man Ohio State fan. Obviously I root
for guys when they go on,but we are losing a lot of talent
next year, and I have nodoubt that you know, we'll lose six
to ten guys in the first threerounds and that it's gonna be an Ohio
(37:22):
State bonanza for sure, because twentytwenty four is gonna be a banner year
for o Higo State football. Andenjoy every single down because it's gonna be
over way too soon. I mean, do we need to go have a
moment of silence for Ohio State footballbecause you're I mean, I was like,
I get trust me. The sixare high this year. I'm not
(37:44):
gonna lie and act like this isn'tthe year that Ryan needs to cash it
in, but he does. Imean, I think he knows that.
And this is a year where ifyou don't win the national championship, it's
a total failure in my opinion. And again I hate saying that because that's
kind of what it is at OhioState at this point. But because we
had years where, you know,we would beat Michigan and win the Rose
Bowl and people were upset and angryand depressed, like I mean, like
(38:07):
like, you know, that's oneof the greatest fallacies and one of the
greatest I guess pieces of stupidity thatI've dealt with in the last seven years
is that, you know, intwenty eighteen, you know, we had
that insanely inexplicable loss of Purdue. But other than that, we run the
(38:27):
table. We beat Michigan like sixtytwo to the thirty five. Then we
win the Rose Bowl, and Ilisten to people say, well, you
know, Urban Meyer lost his fastball, Urban Mayer, I didn't know what
he's doing. Erbmeire sucked. Youknow, Thank god we get rid of
that Meyer guy. Who's literally thethird highest winning percentage in the history of
college football. And again, likeyou know, we had that one bizarre
(38:50):
loss where it was like we're inthe twilights and we're like Perdue, who
sucks at everything every single year, beat us, which again, that was
I'll never be able to explain thatgame for the rest of my life,
but yeah, we ran the tablethis way, and we hang. We
put sixty two on a Michigan teamthat was favored against us going into that
game, who had the number onedefense in the country. I believe I
think they're number two overall as ateam, number one defense, and how
(39:13):
are we ever going to move theball? And again we hung sixty two
points on them, So you know, I don't know, Like I think
it's it's a deal where I enjoyevery season, even if it's a season
where we don't get the ultimate goal. But I think this is the team
that they got it. This islike the fifteen team, This is like
the two thousand and five team, where I think we're clearly the best team.
(39:37):
There's going to be a challenge outthere, which will probably be Georgia
because George has got a superstar quarterbackthat we have to deal with. But
otherwise, I mean, this isabout as good as it's going to get
for Ohio State going forward, betweenthe schedule, the roster, talent,
the coaching staff. So I reallythink Brian has to cash it in.
And again, I don't like tosay that because I sound like I'm crazy
man talking that you get to wina title. But you know there's years
(40:00):
in sports where certain teams go allin and they circlement the salary cap or
they trade their first round picks toget assets, you know, at the
deadline to try to win the winthe Stanley Cup, or win the NBA
Championship or whatever. And I thinkthis feels like a year like that for
Ryan Day. And again, whatwould be great next year. Absolutely,
we'll be a top five team nextyear after all these guys leave. Absolutely,
(40:22):
But this is year where I thinkwe're clearly the most talented team in
the country. I wouldn't I couldn'timagine a coach saying I would take Georgia's
players or Clemson's or Oregon's players overthe guys we have, but you know,
like, we gotta we gotta goget that win. No that on
What are your thoughts next. Again, I know that people get obsessed with
this win it all or it's afailure culture. But I mean, I
(40:45):
again, Jim Trussell and who whoisn't the kind of guy to kind of,
you know, throw the heater atRyan in an urban mane? Who
kind of might be? They bothsaid this is the best talented team they've
ever seen at Ohio State. Thoseare two guys that win national titles at
Ohio State in the last your twentytwenty three ish type years. But what
are your thoughts on that? Well, I just think it's it's just a
(41:07):
matter of perspective, you know.I think for I think younger people like
yourself think it's kind of not funny, but have a little bit of a
different perspective regarding these seasons. Youknow, as I've gotten a little bit
older, I realized that great seasonsdon't come along very often. That you've
kind of have You've got your time, You've got to kind of do your
(41:28):
thing. And and for Ohio State, you know, not every season.
You know, I don't have aninfinite number of seasons to watch, and
so for you know, for me, it's about these special moments, and
I think, you know, ahouse. It's good. Look, they've
got it all. I'm never natchal. I've laughed at the national championship or
bus people because you know, nationalchampionships come so infrequently though I've only seen
(41:50):
three in my lifetime. You know, I saw sixty eight, seventy seventy
one or seventy whatever. It didn'thappen two thousand and two and twenty fourteen.
But I think as you get older, you realize that you're not going
to have an infinite number of bitesat the Apple, and so, you
know, I just you know,I do get a little melancholy when I
think about guys leaving for the draftor what the team's going to look like
(42:14):
in twenty twenty five or twenty twentysix or whatever it is, because I
want to stay in the moment.I want to stay in the you know,
in the present. I want toenjoy every step of these ones because
I don't get enough on how tosay football. The seasons are way too
short, the off seasons are waytoo long, and the fact that we're
only eight saturdays away from playing collegefootball makes me insanely happy. So so
(42:38):
yeah, I'm ready. I'm readyfor some football. This year. And
and like I said, and I'mnot going to turn off any game.
I'm gonna watch every minute from thebeginning to the last player of the fourth
quarter and uh and savor every minuteof the twenty twenty four bucket team.
You get a way for baby Taylorto step up, all of that kids
out again to lose the over asthat we're talking, well, yeah,
(43:00):
that was brutal. I'll never forgivehim for doing that. That was that
was so bad. That's one ofthe one of the worst beats I've ever
had. Brady Tailor, I mean, just snapped the ball. Bradie just
snapped the ball. Well, what'sfunny is our good friend Arnold who was
Who's back and was in Europe andwas turning Europe, and he was talking
about how he was in Europe, you know, living the dream, having
(43:20):
a good time, and he waswatching the Hungry Scotland soccer game, which
your boy bet I bet on andhe's like, man, the Scottish people
were so happy that they ended upyou know, they're an extra time and
whatever. And then Hungry scored withno with twenty seconds left to the tenth
and I was like, oh,rip my heart out a little bit,
cause that took a little bit ofa month. That sent the kirky junior
(43:44):
to community college for at least thefirst year, so I can get that
one back. But I uh waslaughing because that was one of those unintended
consequences where he's telling a funny storyabout traveling. I was like, did
you enjoyed the Europa. He's like, oh yeah. I was like,
well, I enjoyed some of thegames I'd enjoyed. There's a couple of
them that really, uh weren't reallythat fun for for me, but I
absolutely loved it. Kate at Westonand thanks for the deuce, thank you
(44:06):
for being an ultroom as well. They're explicitly not supposed to rhyme, unfortunately,
Nevada again, Nevada. If you'retrying to write a rhyme, we
had to the samurai showgun Master probablycome and slice your head off and put
it on a spike pretty quick.No. But this is why I don't
(44:27):
like hai kus because they don't rhyme. I don't, I don't. I
mean like, they just frustrate me. They're like, Okay, I'm waiting
for the rhyming part, and theydon't have a rhyme, and I don't.
I don't, I don't. I'vedecided that I officially do not like
hai kus. I just don't likethem. Does it does it take more
talent to rhyme or not rhyme ona poem? I don't know. Probably
(44:49):
not rhyme. I mean, Idon't know. I mean not rhyme.
It just seems like it's you're noteven trying. You're like like bird falling,
see nest here, mom, comequickly, baby, Yeah, I
mean, it's like, what theheck is I do? It's so stupid.
Haikus are stupid. I'm sorry, there's any English teachers out there,
(45:12):
there's any Japanese poem people, I'msorry. I do not like haiku's.
Give me something at rhymes, Ilike rhyme. Then you can said like
a little you know, backbeat toit, and then you've got a song.
It's like Taylor Swift theater Swift wouldif you would never sing in haiku,
I can tell you that no,because we are getting getting back together
ever like ever see that is nota haiku, but that was brilliant.
(45:40):
I totally agree. I think thatLike if you don't if you don't have
to open up the thesaurus to getsome good words going in your little flow.
Then I mean, what are wedoing? What are we really talking
about? All right, Nevada, here we go, get another haiku.
This is a trend now, sothis is gonna be scary because it's what
we're gonna get going to for aright which has but he did put little
(46:02):
uh division signs. I'm gonna saydivision signs. It looks like I'm reading
an Excel spreadsheet right now, RanjitStorry like for the five great defense great,
oh so great defense great others fivebuck guys will put on a show.
But I guess we're seven go oh. And then Nevada fish is
(46:25):
the high keep saying this is impressive. Dude, I'm telling you because go
I oh, this is strong.Yeah, that's a good one. And
like I said, it's a rhymingiku, which I know probably violates some
sort of rules, but like thisis the kind of hiker that I can
get behind. So I know Ilike that one. So let's let's let's
(46:45):
do the whole thing and you sayit out and I'll shout out. You
have to say I just like wedo on every other super Okay, sorry,
thank you for the five great defensegreat oh buck guys will put on
a show. Go o h Ioh so that's I mean that that's pers
(47:07):
like when you when you say thatthree times in a row, then like
bloody Mary shows up like a showgunlord shows up behind you with a Samurai
sword and can't candy Man candy Manexactly, can't candy Man exactly candy Man
shows up except the showgun version ofit. So that's perfect good Nevada.
(47:29):
You know, Quinnhahn Jackie has gota lot of first round hype. How
good of an addition is he goingto be to this offense? Because I
mean I think that he's going tobe a guy that I don't think people
always sound good that guy is.But you know, I mean, they
had him as the first running back, they had him as the only first
round running back quin Shawn, andhe's a freaky freaky, freaky good dude.
And I just think that a lotof people are always sound good that
guy was because you know, heplayed he played in the SECV. He
(47:51):
played Old Miss, which isn't thesame as playing at Bama, and it
almost gets a lot of national games, but it's not the same as playing
being at Bama or Florida or youknow, you know, more of the
Auburn Georgia like those are the teams. I feel like they get more national
love than ole Miss does. OleMiss. I always feel like it's kind
of like a quirky, like kindof fun cute little team because they're so
(48:12):
they're still good on offense and Lanekiff It acts like I think lan Kiv
is a genius, but yeah he'she's goofy and he's funny and he's come
to the SIP. So I don'tthink people all realize like a quick shown
Jackie is, but what's he goingto do this offense this year? Well,
the first thing, I just wantto remind people, you're talking about
a three star running back, aLeabant, which is you know, again
(48:37):
not that stars don't matter and notthat things, but it's just you know,
you never know because it's not likethis kid played somewhere the people did
so and he played football in Alabamaand they still thought he was a three
star and now he's possibly a firstround draft pick three years later. I
mean, so no, like he'sa uh, he has absolutely been a
(49:02):
jolt of adrenaline to the house atoffense to a Chip Kelly offense that's you
know, so run centric, andhe wants to do interesting things with two
back sets, with the running thequarterback, with giving a variety looks.
Having two guys like Trey and quinchOn is absolutely his you know, beyond
(49:22):
his wildest dreams. And so no, it's it's it's just it's it's such
a pleasure, such a treat andyou know, a thing, just another
dimension that you need to win inthis expanded playoff. And uh, look,
there's a great article today about howhelmet communications are completely revolutionizing the game.
(49:45):
We've talked about that, but Idon't think people are really understanding how
radical it's going to completely transform theway offense runs. I think I think
offense will be markedly improved and peoplewill be like, wow, how did
offenses get better? Or because helmetcommunications helmet communications that are veterans. If
you have a dynamic offensive coordinator anda veteran quarterback, helmet communications is going
(50:10):
to change everything. And then whenyou add elite playmakers like Quinn Seawan,
Trey Henderson, JJ Smith and MechaBuka Cornell tape. I mean, it's
gonna be silly, it's gonna bevideo game type of numbers. So I
think there's changes that are that areabounding. Having toys like Quinn Shawan in
the backfield for a guy like Chipcatto play with are crazy. You know,
(50:31):
you're throwing helmet communications on top ofthat, and I mean, wow,
I mean, it's it's uh,it's it's pretty it's pretty crazy to
think about the kind of numbers whoit's gonna put in twenty twenty four offensively,
and and the type of defensive effortthat we're gonna put up in twenty
twenty four. Uh, it's reallykind of the dream season. Yeah.
(50:52):
I mean when you combine that withthe defense, and I think that Ryan,
you know, Ryan was kind ofin a tough situation where you he
had to hire some guys that, you know, to pay some favors back,
and now he's got you know,it's interesting when people talk about is
Ryan Day? Are we going tobe okay with Ryan Day and not coaching
the quarterbacks? So Chip Kelly runon the show and I'm like, well,
(51:14):
you know, Chip coach Ryan whenhe's a quarterback. And then you
know, Ryan worked for Chip whenhe was a quarterbacks coach at New Hampshire,
and they work for met Philadelphia andSan Francisca everwhere else. So it's
like, you know, that's thebiggest advantage to me with with Bill O'Brien
versus Ryan Das. I know thatthere are some people that aren't as sharp
(51:34):
as they need to be that thinkthat Bill O'Brien might have been a better
heigher than Chip Kelly. And I'mlike, well, you know, even
if everything was equal, even ifthey were both savants and quarterback gurus and
they both coached you know, TomBrady or whatever. Like at the end
of the day, if you puta gun to Ryan's head and say,
Okay, who do you really wantto be the coordinator? It's going to
be the guy that he trusts implicitly, because again there's been times where you
(51:58):
know, Urban Meyer, who yougot No. I love Coach Meyer,
and I love Shelley Meyer, andI love you know, the whole Meyer
klan. He always talked about, you know, Scott Leffler. Scott Leffers
a guy who's the head coach ofBowling Green. Now good player, played
at Michigan, coached at Michigan underLloyd Carr was from a Lions, Ohio
guy that recruited the crap out ofme when I was in Stark Counting,
(52:20):
the Stark County guy. Guy thatI really liked. And he, uh,
you know, when when Urban lostDan Mullen to uh Mississippi State,
you know, he had to hirea quarterbacks coach in nine and he hired
Scott Leffler. Scott Leffler was outof work because uh Lloyd Carr had you
(52:40):
know, had gotten resigned, andrich Rod came and obviously, you know,
Scott Leffler is a pro style guy, is gonna work with rich Rod,
and rich Rod didn't retain him anyways, so you know Urban hired him
in O nine as a way tokind of help Tim Tebow develop into a
pro guy. And so you know, Scott Leffler shows up and you know,
he he'd coached Chad Henny, whowas you know, a guy that
just retired like two years ago andyou know, fifteen year guy in the
(53:04):
NFL and really good player, gooddude. I was with him in with
the Miami Dolphins and again a guythat you know, dropped back passer classic
you know thing that you're you know, Urban, I think wanted to make
Tibo a little bit more like Henny. You know, Henny was a second
round pick and had a nice career. Like I said, the lasted fifteen
years and didn't get a ton ofuh tread taken off the times because he
didn't play a lot, but hestill lasted fifteen years. But you know,
(53:27):
he goes down to Florida and hisphilosophy was not what Urban wanted,
and he was coaching the quarterbacks likeTim Tebow, to do stuff that wasn't
in Urban's vocabulary, vernacular, Itwasn't in Urban's belief system. So you
know, when there was a timewalking off the field, and I'm sure
(53:50):
you know if I had zach Onhere because he wasn't the same meaning that
was but he was actually on thefield when this happened. And you know,
Tim Tebow goes to Urban and says, hey, you know, I
know that we're supposed to like movethe movement key, which is a big
thing with Urban, moving the safetieshe always talked about in his passing offense.
But what about it? He said, like some Scott left of the
Michigan vernacular, what about this andthat? And this and whatever, and
(54:14):
Urban like he heard this stuff andhe and like his head like about exploded
because he realized that Scott Leffler waskind of in the program infiltrating, not
infiltrating. He wasn't like trying todo a takeover, but yeah, he
was teaching what he knew and whathe believed as opposed to what Urban and
Dan Mullen had believed. So UrbanI sort of got He told the story
(54:35):
and Zach like he's second in thestory. And that's why I love talking
to Zach about on these stories, because is that Urban, who I love
to death, could exaggerate a lot. And then Zach would say, oh,
no, absolutely, they had likethey got off the field at you
know, five or six on likea Thursday, And I'm telling you,
like, normally on Thursday, guys, you know, we go home after
practice, Like we don't usually gradethe tape on Thursday night, so we
can actually get home and see ourfamilies at a decent hour. And Urban
(55:00):
kept him in a staff meeting insteadof them getting out home by you know,
six thirty or seven or whatever,he kept up in a staff meeting
until two am to talk about alignmentand to basically ring Scott like Scott LeFlo
costs all those coaches like at nightwith their families because it was he was
he wasn't in alignment. And sothe you know, the moral of the
story is on as the long wind, is that if Ryan d brings him
(55:21):
Bill O'Brien, it could go oneof two ways. It could have been
Ryan days like, wow, thisis amazing what you do, Bill O'Brien.
I love what you do with TomBrady and Mac Jones and whoever.
Or it could go bad, youknow, and Bill O'Brien can say,
well, this is how I liketo do it, this is how we
want to do it, and Ryancan say, well, I don't believe
(55:42):
in that, or I do likethis, but I don't like that.
But anytime you bring in a newcoordinator, there's always that risk of they're
not big cohesion between, especially whenthe head coach to quarterbacks and guru.
You know, if he's teaching stuffthat you don't believe in, then Ryan
has to go sit in the meetingsand listen to it and make sure that
they're saying that he wants them tosay. Because you know, if you're
a coordinator or a quarterbacks coach, you have to say, you know,
(56:05):
if your head coach is a quarterbackscareer, you got to say what that
guy wants. You can't do itvice versa and say, well, I'm
going to coach like this because thisis what I believe when Ryan's been ultra
successful, you know, really sinceyou know he came to Ohio State in
seventeen, you know, obviously eighteenwith Dwayne Haskins and then with with Fields
and CJ. Strodd and whatever. So I think that Chip Kelly, you
(56:27):
know, again, sometimes you fallinto you know, the jackpot, but
that's what Ryan did where you know, Bill O'Brian took off, Chip Kelly
decided I don't want to beat UCLNanymore. I think it's the biggest hired
in Ohigh State history. And thefact that Ryan could actually leave that room
and actually go be a head coachand not do you know, four other
people's jobs, because again, youknow, last year, Ryan would be
(56:49):
sitting in that room and he'd haveTodd Finch in there, and he'd have
Corey Dennis in there, and he'dhave an intern and a GA and they
did like five coaches in the roomthat had five players, which I think
is insane. Now you just haveto do that. Now it's you know,
hey, Chip, you know youtaught me everything I know, so
I trust you implicitly. You're notgonna teach stuff that I don't believe in.
So I think that that's is hugefor Ryan in his development as a
(57:10):
coach. Now you just have to, you know, worry about, hey,
are they teaching at the way Iwant it? When you know,
Chip's the guy that taught Ryan howto do it. So you know,
it's like Luke Skywalker hiring Yoda, you know, to teach someone how to
be a Jedi. Because it's superuh super streamlined in my opinion about what
are your thoughts in that we've gota couple more super chests. Look,
(57:32):
I mean staff alignments everything. Yeah, it's an underrated point and I think,
yeah, it's you know, theRyan day Chip Kelly alignment is something
that Matt Greary Jim Knowles thing isanother thing. So I think you're talking
about his staff right now with forOhio State that's operating in much better alignment
than they ever have before, witha head coach that's now moved from play
(57:58):
caller and kind of frazzled guy toCEO and you know kind of overseer,
you know, person that can kindof take a CEO ten thousand foot view.
So no underrated point for sure. But I think stack alignment's important and
I think Ohio State has it thisyear. Yeah. I think it's something
that nobody thinks about because we livein like the Madden and NCAA dynasty mood
(58:22):
generation where it's like you can swapout coaches, swap out coordinators and it
doesn't make a big difference. ButI think that you know, when you
have a coordinator that's I don't sayactively working against you, but he's not.
He doesn't totally buy in what you'reselling, it can end very poorly.
And again you see a lot ofyou know, I mean Urban had
missus as coordinators, and a lotof these coaches they didn't always nail the
(58:45):
coordinator hires. So you know,Urban had Tim Beck and he promoted Ed
Warner to oh see what you gotwhen that get promoted again. I was
fine with Ed, but when you'vegot to be the line coach and the
offensive play caller, like there's justno way you can do both. I
think it's impossible. To be reallygood at it. That's why you don't
see offensive line coaches calling plays veryoften because it's like, it's the two
(59:07):
hardest jobs in the field, callingplays on offense and calling and running the
offensive line. So to give itto one guy is just absolutely miserable.
And it didn't pan out well. And I said, you know, he
needs to go up in the box, and he's a talk and he has
to have a guy down on afield that he trusts. And eventually,
you know, when they played Michiganand they beat him like a drum in
fifteen, like they finally put himup in the box because I watched that
(59:29):
offense suck all year. There wasno reason that they should have sucked the
way they did. And they gotbetter as a as the year went on,
and then they beat Notre Dame andeverybody felt good about the season,
but they didn't feel back because thatwas the one that you needed to cash
and join the title. Uh Nevada, We got another HIQ, which I
know that you love as much asanybody in the world. Coc Cute Dreams,
(59:50):
Thank you, my friend, forbeing on here every night. H
cocut Dreams one, two three. They've been an ultra member. Thank you
for the five. All right,Nevada, let's count Silbo's O state nat
a year? Uh, Scarlett andgray Don the crown? How firm the
glory? So yeah, glory,I guess that's five State NATI year five.
(01:00:10):
So, I mean this is goingto be fun on this Your thoughts
on this one, Nevada thumbs up, thumbs down. Well, I'm thinking,
could you have done how firm thyfriendship or something like that? You
kind of so you kind of tieinto the whole thing, and friendship is
like two instead of glory. SoI'm I'm I think there was a golden
maybe yeah, because I when you'vegot how firm Thy friendship? Ohio,
(01:00:36):
I mean you got the whole thing. I mean I think that you had
a golden opportunity to work kind ofthe Alma Mater into the thing, and
I think we missed it. SoI'm I'm giving this one a B minus
because of the missed opportunity to togravy train off the the alma mater.
Do you say for the Alma Materat the end of the game or now?
(01:00:57):
Well, yeah, because I waitfor you, I wait for the
trap. I wait for the afterthe clear outs. So and also I
wait for other people to leave theirsweets, so I send my kids and
dirty eat the cookies and desserts andstuff that they leap behind and stuff like
that. So that that you wantto talk about, you want to talk
about veteran move I'm talking like youwant to talk about you want to talk
about, like, hey, kids, we're not going to eat until after
(01:01:17):
the game because all these corporate suitsare going to clear out and there's going
to be cookies and carving boards. And when when my kids were little,
they would they would run into thethings and they come back with like handfuls
of cookies and stuff like that, and they thought they were like the smartest
kids the world. They would literallyraid the other sweets for their leftover cookies
and stuff like that, and hey, you know, it's really hardness.
(01:01:40):
They're they're like, they're like thelittle panhandlers that had the little pet monkey
on the leash. And then theycome back with the guy's wallet and they
say, Daddy, daddy, lookwhat we got. Daddy, you didn't
have to pay the tab today.Yeah, we want to we want to
keep white kids and wait all theirfood. It was great, you know,
and you're like, Daddy, inthe food that you have to pay
all that money more free food.It tastes way better, daddy, thank
(01:02:01):
you. Fifty old cookies from theseold suitees man, and they'd wrap it
and then the hotel and maybe eatthem all night. Yeah, it was.
It was awesome, good times.Man. They put it in the
carry on and put it through theX ray scanner. Flying home. It's
like, oh great, we gota bunch of soil of cookies in our
in our book bag. They didthat. After the two thousand and five
(01:02:22):
Texas game. They're like, Daddy, why didn't Kirk Barton block better?
And we would have won the gameand we've been happy. And I'm like,
I don't know. Kids, justgo get cookies when those other sweets
and stuff like that. That's whatwe did. So it was sad,
Daddy, why didn't Nate Sally knockthat? And I love date Sally.
That's like the funny thing is likewhen people talk to me about Nate and
(01:02:42):
Nate is one of the greatest teammatesever had there, it's like, why
did Nate knock that pass down?Daddy? Can I take more cookies home?
Now is we're sad? Sure?Sure kids, you guys, you
guys have fun. Why did windthe seed? Why why did line of
the sweet House catch that vault?Yeah, we could have gone home happy,
mister cookies, Daddy. Limus Swedehe was out of bounds, Daddy,
Yeah he was. Limus Swede wasout of bounce that we need to
(01:03:05):
put that on T shirt. LimusSwede was out of bounds. Oh my
godness, he guess. I meanwe could do it probably next year because
I'll do the the twentieth anniversary celebrationof them winning the Natty when we should
have probably want to. Yeah,it does, it really does suck.
Uh d Sonny, my man,I missed you on Saturday. I was
(01:03:25):
ready to kick it with you andyou. Uh we need you back,
Nevada. Here we go, thanksfor the five. Speaking of injuries,
was there any more to the storyof Jamel Dean? He didn't pass the
physical, say, and had agreat cred Alburn, Nevada. Your thoughts
on Jamaldanc That was a weird one. He's made a ton of money in
the NFL, But your thoughts, well, every time I see him,
I mean, well, every timeI see him on TV or anything else
(01:03:51):
of that I think of that story. I mean, look, Ohio State,
you know they've gotten a bad medicalreport on him. That that is
one of the appsol weirdest ones forpeople that don't remember that story. And
I don't remember all of it,but it was basically, it was a
kid that had committed to Ohio Stateand then Ohio State was like, hey,
(01:04:11):
this kid can't pass the physical. He's not gonna be able to play
here. And they were offering likea medical red shirt or a medical you
know, scholarship, and he's like, no, I don't want that.
I want to go somewhere else andplay. And I was gone off and
not only play, but starred andgone on the I mean like, and
that was the weirdest story that I'veever heard. I honestly do not know.
(01:04:33):
You know, I was always underthe impression that Ohio State had just
you know, kind of soured onhim and wasn't sure he was going to
be able to come back from injury. So this is kind of their way
of getting around it. But I'dlove to have more, like real information.
I do not have real information aboutthat situation, but that one was
(01:04:54):
one for the books and absolutely bizarrestory. Well I've got the whole story
of that one, so I canenlighten you guys. So that was that
was actually a guy who again, let me take a sway because this is
gonna be a long winded Kurkuer. But that being said, I know this
(01:05:14):
was a guy. I'm gonna puttheodorant onto so a smell while I'm talking.
So anyways, this this was aguy who when this went down under
Urban, I was like, Okay, they're processing the guy, you know
whatever reason. You know, hehis his nose hairs were too long,
or you know, he said thatthe ice cream was too cold. They
don't want him no more. Andagain, that's fine. It happens.
(01:05:38):
It's like a bad marriage, youknow, ending in divorce. It doesn't
surprise you. I mean, Urbanwas, you know, a guy that
he was really with it with whenit came to roster processing. And so
I asked an inpecable source in thisentire situation about Jamaldane specifically on signing day,
I said, did we really justcut a guy? Like is this
(01:05:59):
where now? Are we really?Bama and Mississippi State and Mississippi and the
schools that did that and what Iwas told, and this is from an
impeccable source, is that you know, his knees. And again, you're
gonna laugh at me, because I'msure that you know, after he you
know, went to the Pro Bowlthis year and signed a fifty million dollars
tension, he's probably running an ironMan or something. He's running an iron
(01:06:23):
Man, or he's running a superend Man. He's running like one hundred
miles across you know, the Africandesert or something in the off season,
and oh, I'll show you whodoesn't have knee cartilage. But I was
told that, like, he's notgonna make it through, you know,
the grind of like a college footballseason. Like he could go maybe to
like a small school, a Dthree school where they could put him on
an air dine bike and get himready like that. But his knees were,
(01:06:44):
you know, his one knee wasso bad that there's no way he's
gonna make it. So again, was that an impossibly bad diagnosis. Yes,
obviously he's turned into a Pro Bowlor he's won a Super Bowl with
the Buccaneers and second overall pick, and what is possibly stupid evaluation, but
that was the truth like, thiswasn't Urban just saying hey, we want
(01:07:05):
to get rid of this guy. That's what they were told. And again,
this isn't me defending Urban or stickingup for Urban or carrying on some
likes. Again, the thing aboutus is like when we talk to you
guys, like we're honest. Andagain the rest of the media that covers
Ohio State is patently dishonest because againthey have to put out whatever message Ohio
(01:07:26):
State wants to put out, andthat's not us, Like we don't we
don't need o Higo State for anything. So that gives us the advantage to
actually be honest with you and tellyou what really happened. And that's what
really happened. This kid was deemedlike, hey, he's not gonna last.
Now again, you know, wecan make light of it, but
you know, Ohio State and Urbanthey so offered him like a free four
or five year scholarship at Ohio Statejust not to play football. Where again,
(01:07:49):
you know, if that's me,if I didn't have desires to play
in the National Football League and theysay, hey, you go to score
for four years, full boat, full ride, you go be a regular
student, and we're gonna pay twohundred thousand dollars for education. That's room
board, scholarship checks, all ofthe perks and being a football plock and
you never have to play football.Be like, well, that's amazing.
(01:08:10):
You know. Obviously, you knoweveryone wants gonna play in the league,
but there's a lot of kids don'tmake the league that have to practice and
go through all the hard workouts alland stuff. But it's gonna be a
football player. I think it wouldbe great. So you know, it
wasn't like they just said, hey, sorry, you have to go,
you know, live in the homelessshelter. It's like no, they're like,
hey, we're gonna off you this, but we don't think you're gonna
make because your kneed. And obviouslyhe didn't do that, and he went
(01:08:30):
to Auburn and became a second roundpick and ran a four to three or
whatever, and we looked like morons. But that was a real story.
And again, let's not water carrying. That's not state media like the rest
of the outlets that we go against. That's really what happened. And I
was just like okay, I meanbecause again I when I heard that,
I was like, oh god,Urban's cutting these guys already, and because
(01:08:51):
the dad went crazy and it wasit really looked bad. I mean from
an optics standpoint, that's the kindof thing that this looks terrible on social
media. You know, the kidgets a signing day, he's all excited
to sign his letter of intent andthen you know, we pull it out
from under him and hey, sorry, buddy, no letter of intent FEUs
your knees bad. I'm like, okay, so we had to cut somebody.
(01:09:12):
So I look like I was thatkid. But it's how it happened.
So that's the truth. And againthat's not something where and again I
love Urban Ira, but this isn'tprotecting Urban at all. This is what
really happened. So uh, justmy opinion, Nevada, any additional thoughts
in that, because that was thatwas as crazy as I've ever seen,
Honestly, as long as I've beenaround recruiting for thirty years, that's the
(01:09:32):
craziest thing I've ever seen. BecauseI was just like, Okay, so
this guy can't walk and he's gonnabe in a you know, if he
comes to Hoh, he's gonna bea rascal scooter on game days. But
he goes to Auburn and turns intwoPro Bowl sixty million dollar extension. Guy,
what are your thoughts on that?Again? That was that was wild?
Yeah, I'd never heard that story, you know, I I but
(01:09:56):
I had been told that that's whatthey thought. They thought they literally couldn't
blow. But I'd like to knowwho the doctor was that made that diagnosis
because I understand that the medical isnot a perfect science. But man,
what a bad miss. I mean, that's that's a bad man. And
then that's that's something too that youmiss on something like that, and that
(01:10:16):
I'm not saying that's a program changer, but that that hurt Ohio State.
So that was not a harmless missright there. That was a really really
bad miss. And overdid that.I would hope they're not doing that for
house anymore because they're literally not greatat their job. Well, I mean,
like, like for me, thething that that does is it gives
(01:10:39):
like you know, again we talkedabout civilization on seventy six on the like
giving your your opponent a nuclear bomb, you know, because all of a
sudden you're like, well did yousee whatever myer just said to that kid?
Are you sure you want to committo him, like he's he just
kind of kid on signing day, like I mean you said he had a
bad he was bad. It's bad. I mean that's like a I'll turn
(01:11:00):
a good thing. They'll turn acceptinga kid's commitment into pulling the rug out
from under him. Like the weekbefore. I don't know if it was
the day of signing it or theweek of signing day, but it was
pretty close to signing day. Itwasn't late, Yeah, it was late.
It was I mean it was like, hey, you know, the
kids already bought the hooded sweatshirt towear to the signing day press conference and
signed the letter and said, hey, by the way, you can't play
(01:11:20):
bad knee whatever, So it's uh, I don't know, it was bad,
but it was legit. And againlike you know this isn't you know,
I love Urban, but this wasn'tyou know him, Hey, doctor
go say that this kid has Bennyso we can cut on. This was
literally the doctors like, you know, he's got a bad knee and I'm
not gonna out my guy. Butit was twas not good. Uh McLaren
(01:11:43):
one two three, one thousand thingsyou've been an alternatives for twenty My friend,
Hiku. People are loving these haikus. We might have to do a
hik on all of our shirts becauseI think they'd be hilarious. Kirk in
Nevada best ever show on YouTube,Keep up the great work. Appreciate you.
That's perfect five seven five, We'rerocking. Nevada's out. A fan
of the haikus. I love thehigh kus because again I use Japan on
(01:12:04):
civilization, so shout out to theSamurais. Let's ride Nevada. At your
thoughts again McLaren at one, twothree, one thousand, Thanks for twenty,
he said, Haiku, Kirk andNevada best ever show on YouTube,
Keep up the great work. Whatare your thoughts? That was such so
kind? Thank you. Now Ilike haikus again, so I'm back a
(01:12:25):
liking them. But that was thatwas a really nice. That was a
very That's an incredible nice compliment. We do try hard, but hearing from
people that they that they like whatwe're doing makes it all worthwhile and we
really appreciate it. Yeah, andyou know again, we we go every
night, so for better or worse, in sickness and post happy hour,
we do go every night. Sowe appreciate you guys tuning in every night
(01:12:49):
and enjoying our show. ZZM,what is up, brother? I missed
you on Saturday. I wish youwould have been there. I missed SENIORR
happy face. Thank you for theThey fear the Scoop And then again I
love because a big Game of Thronesfan. So he throws like King in
the North, like Scoop in theNorth Michigan Walkers will fall, which is
(01:13:10):
like the White Walker's. The IronTrophy is our It's like the Iron Throne.
I love that, Zesiam, becauseI I love Game of Thrones.
I think that the current show thatthey're doing right now absolutely sucks. And
again I can be persuaded to bewrong, and Kirk, you're just not
real smart, you know what's goingon. But this Dragon's thing is like
terrible. I honestly don't think there'sa single good character in the entire show,
(01:13:31):
and I wish there was, becauseagain I love the greatest people,
and all the Game of Thrones areTailan Lanister is number one for me by
far. The house He's dead dead, Well, they're both dead. All
the good people die, like NedStark died, Rob Stark died. Know,
you know, also you know whomy number three was, who might
(01:13:53):
actually should probably be the number oneis Lady Tyrrell, Lennia Tyrell. She
was dead. Got she's dead aswell. She drank poison and she said,
tell seriously, I want her toknow that it was Okay. Who
what character did she play in aprevious life? I don't know. I
(01:14:14):
mean, she's one hundred years old. I mean she's like the cripkeeper or
something. I don't know. No, she was that's dying in a rig.
She was hot. She was likethe old in nineteen twenty. Dude,
she was smoking. I think itwas like The Avengers or whatever the
thing, whatever the show was,she was like the sidekick and she was
a smoke show back in the daythe Avengers. Like the end came,
(01:14:42):
no, no, no, no, this is like way back. It's
like a sixties television show. Imean, I'll take your word for it,
the sixties or like the eighteen sixtiesor the nineteen sixties. Dude,
she was she was a smoke show. I'm so oh, Lendia Tyrrell,
he's one hundred years old, isa smoke show in her in her prime,
she was a smoke show. I'mtalking you good. Check it out.
(01:15:04):
Google it check the Google machine.I mean I believe you. I
mean, you were alive way beforeI was. You probably know, I
don't know. I mean, ifhe says she's a smokes show, I
thought she was the funniest she Shewas like unbelievably funny, like the same
way that Tony Soprano's mom was hilarious, you know, like she's like just
a great delivery dry and she shreddedThailand and she shredded everybody. I mean,
(01:15:29):
her lines were like the best writtenthings in the world other than the
hole. The hound was great,But most of the stuff that he said
I couldn't say on the show justbecause he was pretty graphic. But he
was my favorite all time character. She she she literally, she literally played
the wife of James Bond in OnHer Majesty's Secret Service. So imagine she
was the wife of James Bond.So no matter how smoking you have to
(01:15:50):
be to be cast as the wifeof James Bond, James Bond had a
wife. Really yeah, yeah, facts, he had a wife. I
never knew he was married. Yeahyeah. Did she died? Yeah,
she had to die because he's beenlike mister bachelor dude and everyone. I
(01:16:11):
mean, if you're like the onething I know is like, if you're
getting cast is James Bond's wife,You're gonna have like the shortest like series
life span of ever. I mean, you're gonna die in the first movie.
Like, hey, you want youto be inspector, You're gonna be
James Bond's life. Okay, thatmeans I'm gonna die in like the first
hour, you know, like thechick she got caught in the elevator in
the in the in the water, and I was like, oh, yeah,
no, no, no, no, she yeah. She was on
(01:16:34):
that TV shows The Avengers from sixtyfive to sixty eight and that was a
big that was a big show. And actually she was smoking on a rig,
was smoking. I mean, that'sthat's bold. But I mean I
believe you, like I said,I mean, she was I mean Elean
Elena Tarell. She looks like she'sone hundred and five years old. So
but again, she's the funniest characterin the story outside of the Hound in
(01:16:57):
Taiwan. So again, I missold Game of Thrones because it's it's I
think it's the Sopranos is number one. Nothing can touch the Sopranos in terms
of how well written it is.But Thrones had so many like hilarious,
you know, quotable moments, andit's just like this new one just it
just sucks. And I was like, I wish it was better if they
didn't have cgi dragons. I don'tthink it would even exist anymore. But
(01:17:19):
that's just me. And hopefully itturns up a little bit and it gets
a little bit better, but thecharacters just all suck in this. Yeah,
So Nevada, I got a bigquestion for you because I need you
to help me out. So Ihave two cousins that are literally in Hilton
Head right now. This is mycousin, John Purdue, and this is
(01:17:41):
my other cousin, Jeff Purdue, and they're going to have a hot dog
eating competition where I have staked acash prize for the winner. So they're
two brothers and they're both my cousins. Here's John and here's Jeff, and
I literally venmoed them the cash prizeto see who could eat more hot dogs.
So John looks a little bit morerobust here, so we'll make him
a slight like, I'm probably abouta one seventy five Dogistan Poppy favorite.
(01:18:08):
Who do you have in the GreatHot Dog derby the Scoop hot Dog World
Championship that's going to take place tomorrowbetween Jeff Purdue and John Purdue because they're
both eating hot dogs and there iscash on the line and it's enough to
pay for a couple of really nicedinners. But I said, like,
I'll stake this because I think thiswill be hilarious. Who you got Nevada
(01:18:30):
Gambling guy? Which which is thesecond ones holding the cup? See,
I think you got to I thinkanybody who's holding the cup because you've got
to dunk the hot dog buns thestuff in the water so you can stuff
it in your mouth. If he'sactually practicing there with a cup in his
hand, then on betting him becausethat's that is the secret to stuffing more
volume in there is wetting it down, getting those things soggy, because you
(01:18:54):
eat those buns dry, they justclog up your stomach and you can't get
him in. So have you haveyou studied like are you chest out and
how he dunks the buns and smashesthem and no, But I watched all
the all the all those shows onthe the eaters like these guys. Yeah,
yeah, yeah, so I've read. I still don't understand it,
(01:19:15):
but I I do see the technique, and yeah, techniques everything in that
obviously, And I think the factthat he's holding a cup that indicates to
me that he's got a good, solid, hot dog geting technique. And
just and be hungry too. Don'tdon't have breakfast or something. Don't be
stupid, like, make sure you'rehungry before you go into this. Do
you think overall belly sized and circumferencematters, Like if you look like you
(01:19:39):
have a bigger belly when you're whenwe catch you on the XL in this
photo, does that make it?Do you think you have more room as
opposed to having more of a anAustin Powers chest air type build like like
Jeff does. No, I thinkit's all technique, man. I think
that's why Kobeyashi's like he's got likefive percent body fat, knees like seventy
(01:20:00):
five thousand calories in a sitting andpeople are like, wow, he's so
amazing. But okay, well therewe go. We got our I'm gonna
go Honestly, I think I'm gonnago with Jeff. He's younger Perdue,
he's hungry, he's a little bitof a mean streak at him, so
I think he's gonna need it morethan John will. But yeah, I'm
(01:20:24):
excited to see that. I'm gonnareport that back in the comments. I
want to let I want you guys, let me know which of the Perdue
brothers are gonna win the hot doggetting contest tomorrow, because again I put,
I was like, look, guys, if you guys are serious about
seriously about this, I'll send cash, and I want to see a video
of it, and I want tobe able to diagnose it on my Telestrader.
We're gonna make it into an event, because when we make it an
(01:20:45):
event, it's always hilarious. Sothat's what we did. So hopefully we'll
get a good video of it andwe'll be able to judge it and there
won't be any tom folly. Imean, hopefully one of them smashes the
other one and we'll it won't belike a well, he ate three fourths
of the twenty fifth hot dog andthis guy only eight a quarter of the
twenty like hopefully there'll be separation, will be nice and easy. Got another
super Chat Coconut Dreams. The biQ thing is gonna be or anything?
(01:21:09):
Nevada, I think, uh,Cocout Dreams want you three things for being
ultra thinks for the ten. Thereonce was a Buckeye from Newport who made
strawberry milk hicks a fine sport.Extra oreo please, and I'll bend it
the knees what with whipped cream?Be the knees You're gonna like, are
(01:21:31):
you gonna play defense in basketball?I've heard like, ben your knees since
I was playing defense in like tenthgrade basketball. They said, ben yournes
bends, you know, like don'tdon't be stiff legged and move your feet
and like I'm not moving my feet. We're gonna play ZWN defense. I'm
gonna be centered il must in rightin the middle lane and not move at
all. So yeah, extra oreosplease? Do you ever order extra oreos
(01:21:54):
in your Does that overwhelm the strawberry? Nevada? Well that that overwhelms the
straw you know what I'm saying. The straw gets all clogged up and stuff
like that. So yeah, anyany any good eater of the strawberry oreole
shake. Well, no, youcan't put too many oreos. You order
that you get the straw clogged upand you're pulling the straw out the whole
time, and stuff's coming out thebottom and no, and then there's time
(01:22:15):
you get the straw. You getthe straw cleared out. Also it's melted,
and you're just like this is terriblyYeah. No extra oreos. Yeah
yeah, I mean you gotta callit like you gotta call it like Rota
Ruber. You gotta call it uberone with less oreos plays and you throw.
You gotta get one of those. You gotta get one of those those,
Bob, that's what you need.I know, that's exactly what the
(01:22:39):
straw all right, Nevada. Onelast super chat Jerry mc stevens thinks for
the deuce. Uh when does Sandersand More announce their picks? I have
no idea, honestly. I mean, I think David Hare's spost announced this
month later before camp starts. More. I don't have a clue, Nevada.
(01:22:59):
You can a better man than Iknow when these kids are announcing.
But I just I don't fallow itunless it's like right in front of my
face, and it's going to belike a day out or a week out.
I'm do you have any clue becauseI don't, So if you don't,
that's good. Yeah. No,I think the plant the plan for
Sanders was end of July DK.I don't think he's ever released when he
was going to be announcing, soI don't. I don't think we know.
(01:23:21):
So I've always just kind of assumedthat they're going to drag out as
long as they can in an effortto drive up through an eye all things.
And oh yeah, probably a smartmove. I mean, there's no
reason to commit earlier I would commit. I would be like as late as
possible. And you know, Ikeep the I say, keep banging the
paddles like you're at the auction house, Like, hey, do I hear
(01:23:43):
five hundred, six hundred, sevenhundred and eight hundred, Like yo,
we all get a car like Oprah. So That's where I'd be at with
this, all right, Nevada,it's raut the thing. Any final thoughts
we're on justin hill commitment Eve.Hopefully let's get some good news on that,
get that one down and then continueto hear positive vibes for a house
state Petta Johnson. We'll bring thathome with a few days later and the
(01:24:06):
dream season continues, but justin Hilltomorrow, let's get that one done.
Nevada. Also, we have anotherand I love when these things can be
turned into bets, which we're notgonna bet. But Jerry mcstevens has a
follow up for aduce. He says, also, do you think we lose
any commits? Like that would belike minus That's like, you know,
if our France and Spain both goingto score in the match on Friday or
(01:24:30):
something, it's like probably and they'reboth ridiculously good on offense, so it's
probably gonna be like a minus ninehundred that they both get shut out.
But do you think or excuse bea plus nine hunter they both count?
Shout out, Nevada. Do youthink we lose any commiss I mean I
don't. I'll go first if thisas like I said, I don't think
so, unless you know, weget a bunch of dominoes, your coaches
(01:24:50):
leave, or seasons don't go asplanning, and kids want to jump back
in the boat, and we couldupgrade some of the the commits that we
have, but at this point.I don't like think so, but again,
it only takes one for me tobe a loser on that. And
again it's just like Aska when youbet there won't be another goal and then
of course they switch the goal ona penalty kick five seconds later. Like
you know, sometimes it's better tosay, well, you know, if
(01:25:12):
I'm looking at the odds that wewon't lose any commit it's like because is
one. And sometimes it's not evena loss if if well High State,
like like with Mark Dave, anice kid who didn't develop and we asked
them to look else where and endedup in Kentucky. I don't know if
that that counts the loss in yourbook, But what are your thoughts about
it? Yeah, I think ifthe over unders zero, I probably bet
(01:25:36):
over. But if it was two, I'd probably bet under. So I
and that's not on any information.I don't have any information that we're on
any danger and High State's done apretty good job of standing on top of
these kids, So I think thisclass is pretty tight. So I'm not
that worried about decommits right now.Yeah, I mean, for me,
I'm just like you know, Imean a lot of times when these kids
(01:25:57):
leave late in the season, it'sbecause we've upgraded, like some other kid
became interested because something crazy. Again, I'll always go back to like don
Tree Wilson, Dontre Wilson. Whenwe got him, it was like,
oh my god, the second comingof Percy Harvin. We had no shot
at get him until chip Kelly wentto the NFL. You know, he
was committed to Oregon, sign steeldelivered, you know, had you know,
people on on the take to gethim to Oregon. So that was
(01:26:19):
locked in. And then chip Kellygoes to the league and all of a
sudden, you know, he's like, well I'm not going there, and
he comes to Ohio State after we'dlost the recruitment. So usually if you
do that, you have to bumpa kid out of a class to get
a kid that you think is abig upgrade. So I don't think we
lose any but you know, ifwe do, it's always so a high
sus benefit in my opinion. Imean, at least in recent history.
(01:26:40):
You know, when we lose akid who's been committed, it's because we
want someone else. And if Kidowants to look around and he wants to
leave, like that's fine, we'llsurvive. You know, it's better that.
I think it's better than they doit before signing day or we have
a chance to replace him as supposedto going after signing day and then you
got to go look in the portaland go find out, Okay, this
kid's in the portal and what wartzdoes he have and whatever. So I
(01:27:01):
think the kids actually do your favoritewhen they transfer before they get here,
because then you're not wasting time developinga kid that doesn't really want to be
here anyways, all right, Nevadaforrill the time, final thoughts, and
we were at the show as granted, Nevada used to say, when God
closes one door, he opens another, so if somebody leaves, it'll just
be an operating for somebody else.Yeah, I'm not worried. I think
(01:27:21):
the class is great and it's aboutto get better tomorrow. The fingers crossed
when when God closes one door,go to the clickbar. All right,
