So guys, we are celebrating one hundred years as a
county on Florida's East coast since nineteen twenty five. Guys,
since some of you are listening worldwide, I want you
to know where we are because it's beautiful so United States.
We'll start there bottom right. We're in Florida.

Now, if you take a dart and you throw it
at the state of Florida and you try to hit
the center, you're gonna scoot that little dart all the
way to the right. On the East coast, we're like
middle East Coast. It's called Vera Beach. We are Indian
River County. It is population just over one hundred and
seventy two thousand.

Median age is fifty five, not us in the room.

It's Florida's seventh rich county and the eighty seventh richest
county in the United States. Indian River County comprises the
Sebastian Vera Beach West Via Corridor Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

place so much. So I have three amazing guys on
the show today. They all happen to be former mayor,

mayors and current mayor of India of Vera Beach. And
so let me introduce our first one.

He's just a wonderful person that does so much for
our veterans. He's married, He's a Vera native. He's retired
colonel from the US Army, served over thirty years. Tony's
grandfather was the first mayor of Vera Beach and is
considered the founder of Indian River County. Huge deal seeing
that we are celebrating one hundred this month. Tony followed

in his grandfather's footsteps and became Mayor of Vera Beach
in twenty nineteen. Currently, Tony serves as team leader for
the World Beautiful World War Two tribute. While on our
memorial Island, Please welcome back Colonel Tony Young.

He's married.

Originally from Rhode Island, he spent most of his career
in the electronics industry. He was vice president of Sales,
Marketing and Applications engineering Operations for Shinko Electric. After retiring
in twenty eighteen and moving to Florida, John was elected
to the Vier Beach City Council in twenty twenty one,
and in November twenty two was chosen to serve as mayor,

all gonna share kind of a one liner of why
we love Indian River County. Here's the two rules. You
can't repeat the same thing, so if someone already takes yours,
you just have to embellish it a little.
