Speaker 2 (00:10):
From Studio A in Sunny Florida. Welcome to Beauty and
the Beach Radio, where it's all about who's beautifying Vero Beach.
Today's show is brought to you by Dale Sawrenson real
Estate and here's your host and Glamour Girl makeup artist Cindy.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Gets Hey everyone, happy summer. This is Cindy gets your
host a Beauty in the Beach Radio. It's all about
who's beautifying Vera Beach. And today we are diving into
something we all need right now. A summer glow up.
That's right, a summer glow up. I'm not just talking
about bronzers or highlighters. I'm talking from inside out, from
(00:51):
skincare to self care. That vibe that makes people turn
their heads and say, what's their secret? What is your secret? Well,
I'm going to share some of my secrets. So this
summer is not just about looking good, It's about feeling
aligned and ready to shine. And I don't mean greasy shine,
I mean like really that confidence shine. So five ways
(01:15):
to build your summer glow that's what we're going to cover.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
So hang in there, Cindy.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I'm so excited to talk about this because you know,
beauty is my favorite topic.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
It is, I know that not cooking beauty, Yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Nope, We're just gonna cook up some beauty.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
So five ways to build your summer glow. So, first
of all, you guys summer beauty must haves, let me
give you your must haves. So make your list, get ready
to go online or alta wherever your you know most
easiest you know, beauty shop is.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
So the first thing is a lightweight SPF. Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Now I'm going to give you product names too, so
I normally don't do this, so hopefully you'll be excited
to be able to write some of these things down.
So a lightweight SPF and that's super Goop glow screen
SPF forty. Now that actually doubles as a sunscreen and
a dewey primer. Those things are so essential for hot
(02:09):
summer days. Now, this is not owned by Gwyneth Paltrow.
If you're going, gosh, it sounds familiar, Is this Gwyneth's brand?
It is not. Her brand is Goop Okay Goop Super
Goop Okay is a sunscreen brand founded by Holly Thaggard. Okay,
she mostly just does sunscreen products. So I'm recommending do
(02:32):
you get her lightweight SPF. It's called Supergoop.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Glow screen.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
SPF of forty forty is pretty good to kind of
cover most of your your sunscreen needs. So Supergoop it's
pretty good name, right, Cindy.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
It is you know what.
Speaker 6 (02:48):
The only thing that I think about it is, and
I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer, but goop is
the stuff mechanics use to clean their hands.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
That is true. I remember my dad using that when
he would work on the car.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Yeah, scoop, I'm pretty sure I'm right about that.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I think you are right.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Well, well, so get your good.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
I guess it's get your good.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
What to say? Yeah, I don't know what to say.
I don't use it's catchy.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
It is catchy, So I like the name.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, so we're super gooping it with uh with Hollyfaggerd's products.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
So go get some glow screen from her.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
The second thing, you, guys, there's something called Rescue spray
s as spray. Yes, and for those of you who
have sensitive skin, this is something you might want to
put in your your bathroom. It's Tower twenty eight Rescue Spray.
This is dermatologist approved. It's a toner and it's great
for calming redness and refreshing the skin.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
How about that?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Okay, I all get read, probably like you did over
the weekend working on your house in one hundred degrees.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
I am right, are right.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
You're probably thinking the only thing that would help is
laying on the floor in a air conditioned room, right.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
And that's exactly what I did.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
And you know what the other thing I used to
use and I should get back to it is if
we're using brand names today, is it busy bee, the one,
tomato toner and Tomato different? What am I trying to say?
Real product products?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Well, and we talked about okay, we talked about the
tomato trend. Gosh, it's already been last year, last summer, Cindy. Yeah,
the tomato trend.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
But some of their stuff I've used in the past
and it's works.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Oh nice, Okay, good?
Speaker 5 (04:44):
Yeah, all right, So get you.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Some super Goop glows screen, some Tower twenty eight rescue spray,
and then there is something that's super fun right now.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
It's not going away.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
It started a trend a few years ago, and these
are the air sticks. Okay, they're not lipsticks. They're actually
contour and highlight sticks from Finty Beauty. They are beautiful.
They're very light and airy, which is so important. You
don't want anything heavy on your skin during the summer,
especially especially if you live in Florida. Now, if that
(05:18):
sounds familiar Finty, that's because it's created by Rihanna, who
is the singer. So Rihanna has some great products. And
by the way, I just discovered a live gloss from
her that I absolutely love. It's a nude, it's beautiful
for summer. So Finty Beauty match stick skin sticks is
what they're called skin sticks, so you can create some
(05:40):
fun contouring and highlighting, but keeping it very sheer and
light for the summer.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
So those are three must halves I feel like you
should have in your bathroom for the summer months. Your
Supergoop glows screen, your your rescue spray, and there of
course the Finty Beauty skin and sticks. Now, let's talk
about some summer wardrobe musk, because we're really talking about
up in your game. You know what's appropriate to wear
(06:09):
in the summer and also make you feel confident and
so okay, So here's what you want to think when
you're looking at your summer wardrobe. You want to think effortless,
and you want to think breathable. Okay, I actually have
a turtle nick on, but it's actually sleeveless and it
actually is crocheted in the front, so it's very breathable.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
It's so comfortable, Cindy.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
And it's also the material.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah, yes, absolutely, I have a lot.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
Of linen stuff that I wear in this I mean
I don't have it on today, but I wear in
the summer because it's so light.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Okay, so she did not know my notes, I promise you.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
But the very first item that I have on my
list is linen. Everybody needs one linen item for summer,
whether it's shorts, whether it's pants, top, what is or dress.
I think you've got a couple dresses that are I
do linen.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
I do have linen.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
I just bought a linen skirt too as well, because
I wear a lot of skirts and it's so comfie.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Now, does it bother you that it tends to have
to be ironed quite often because it can get really
wrinkly if you're not careful.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Does that bother you?
Speaker 3 (07:15):
So?
Speaker 6 (07:15):
I'm a Martha Stewart disciple and I love to iron.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Wait, how did I not know that?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Are you serious?
Speaker 5 (07:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Oh God bless you. I bring all my I'm going
to bring my linen to you.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
I used to iron all the baby dresses and everything
when my daughter was a baby with the little shoulders
to have out.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
It's therapeutic for me.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
I was just gonna ask because I had another friend
that she was obsessed on Sundays what iron during football
and she says it was so therapeutic it.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Is to me.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
Yeah, well how about that. Cindy loves to uh to iron? Okay,
I think we.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Have a new side hustle for Cindy. Bring your items
to the radio show. She'll, you know, charge you a
couple bucks.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
There you go. We got this, Cindy.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Yeah. And the linen.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
I want to go back to that because I had
the conversation with one of someone one of my friends
the other day is you have to get, like, know
the linen type because some of them that are really
really light look like you slept in them good after
a while. You gotta be careful that you do.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
You're a linen snob. I like it. Okay, so six items.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
One is linen and consult with Cindy O what kind
of linen you're gonna get? The next is a midi dress.
You know what a midi midi dress is? Yeah? Okay,
what is a midi dress?
Speaker 5 (08:35):
What goes down below your knee?
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Yes, so it's between the knee and the ankle. Okay,
so get a midi dress. And dresses are so great
for summer, especially Florida.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
They're actually very uh cool, they are, mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
So I gotta have some some type of linen, a
midi dress, and then denim shorts or skirt.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Do ye you have a denim skirt? You've worn it here?
Speaker 5 (09:01):
I know what I have, But you know what, it's hot?
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah, it holds in the heat a little.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah, So I would suggest probably go with the shorts.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
The other thing I found, again not to be Debbie Downer,
is linen. Linen denim is very not ecologically friendly. Hmm Okay,
why do you say that? Because it isn't. It's the
way they make it. It's the preparation that die.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
The whole bit. It's one of the least economically.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Ergonomical right or androment friendly.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Yea, we got to doctor to leave.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Eys, don't tell me that I love my Levi's okay,
we're gonna move on. The other thing you want to
have is a white tanker tee. Okay, yeah, perfect for summer.
Pair it up with the linens with the jeans.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
And then your fifth item is wide leg pants.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
It's back you, guys.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
I love wide leg pants. They are actually very comfortable,
and I could picture a beautiful linen pair.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
Really, that's very was very vogue last year too, I
want to say, but they never go out of style.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
No, they're cool. Full leg is staying. I'm thrilled about that.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yes, they're cool.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
And then finally, oh shoot, let's see if I have
a prop hold on, okay, hold on, yeah, okay, wait
wait wait what finally you need to have okay, see
if I can get them on? Here? You need to
have statements sunglasses. Okay, here, I don't know if these
are statement but it works for a prop.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Little delay, actually a little.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
Delay, little delay.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
So that is your sixth signature item for summer is
a signature pair. Now what makes it signature? Something that's
remarkable about it? Maybe they're oversized, maybe it's the color.
Maybe you want to go right red. Maybe it's the
what do you call these tanked, the tent, the frames,
(11:07):
So I don't know, just find something that speaks to you.
I particularly love the whole aviator style. So if you
can't see me on camera, that's what I put on
is just a gold aviator.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Style, very seventies.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
I love it. I do look pretty seventies right now
with a hot pony and the orange colored top. But
you know, I love it.
Speaker 6 (11:28):
And marraw ones are big now too, and they're really
good for the SBF.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
And that kind of thing in the in the heat.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, you know, yeah, Okay, recap guys. So these are
the things that you must haves in your wardrobe. Something linen,
midi dress, denim shorts or skirt, white tank er tee
wil like pants, and statement sunglasses. And if you just
do six all of those, just one each, you're going
(11:56):
to be set for the summer, okay, And that's going
to build your confidence.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
You're gonna know that you're in Okay. I'm gonna throw
this out as a bone. Yeah, okay, this is to
the dog that we'll have on in the commercial break. Yes, yes,
I wonder white denim what the deal difference is than
blue denim because white denim is summer. Yeah. Yes, so
(12:20):
I wonder what the pros and cons of that are.
I suppose environmentally friendly.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
I don't know. I should have done more reason.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
My dad would talk talk to me about bleaching food
items or even Okay, so like a coffee filter. You
can get the brown ones now that are like they
you know, they say, uh, recyclable or anyway, and then
there's white ones, he says, Cindy, don't ever buy the
white because because they're bleached, and the process they have
(12:51):
to do to do that is very not environmentally friendly
at all.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
That's the shout out.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
I don't know about what they do with jeans, but
I will tell you you guys, from then on, I've
been always getting the coffee filters that are the brown ones,
he says. And then that goes for a lot of
your products that they bleach out, he said, don't ever
get that. He said, it's it's because he's an engineer.
He had to go and to those factories and watch
(13:19):
them do it and make sure that they were not
polluting our environment with their emissions. And so anyway, big
tip there, Cindy, it's not blue jeans and white jeans.
But you know now you know what kind of coffee filtered? Again?
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Yeah, that's right. So there's another here. Here you go
that get another tip, another tip?
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yes, my dad, Thanks, Thanks Dad.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
I'll ask him about the jeans, Cindy.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Let's see if we can add that to next show. Okay, okay,
So makeup tips you guys for heat proof confidence. We're
talking about, you know, building your confidence for the summer.
We're giving you products, we're giving you wardrobe right now.
Makeup tips for heat proof confidence. Uh, use a madifying
or gripping primer. Let that just hold on to your foundation.
(14:03):
I would suggest milk hydro grip. Milk is a brand
that's come on fairly recently and it's got some good products.
So that is one I would recommend. It's madifying, it's gripping.
It's called Milk hydro Grip. The second thing is try
a long wear foundation. Again, I'm talking to you girls
that live in Florida with me, and it is super
(14:25):
hot and it just wants to slide off your face.
Finty actually has one that's really decent that holds up.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
It's called Finty ease drop. Okay.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
So as a reminder, if Finty sounds familiar, that is
Rihanna's product. It is a good product. The next thing
lose powder. Oh my gosh, powder is your friend. I
do love the blurring one from Laura Mercia. It is
a little expensive but totally worth it. So Laura Mercia
loose setting powder.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
So those are kind of three things I'm catering to
you summer for you, Okay, that'll help you from sliding
off and just fading away.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
With the heat and humidity.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Lastly, before we go to break in or glow, let's
talk about the mindset, boundaries and energy.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
So you know we've got you outfitted.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
We were making sure your your foundation is gripping. But
what else? Okay, So boundaries for your piece? This is
so important and I know Cindy and I talk about it.
Off the air is protecting your piece. What things do
you have to do? I know Cindy's been working on it.
I've been working on it. But say yes two things
you love, say yes to fun. Cindy asked me the
(15:39):
other day if I want to go play bingo? I
haven't done that in a million years. And I said yes.
I'm like, let's do it.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
I just hope we don't get killed in the process.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
These people that go, they're serious, serious, they're serious, Arthur
being going.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
We're going to be in our corner having fun though,
that's right, that's right. We don't care about winning. We're
just going to play, that's right.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Yeah. So for your inner glow, for your minds of
boundaries and energy, say yes to fun, Say yes to
things you love, but no to what drains you. Say
no to what drains you. So I don't even know
if I can give you an example. It could be
maybe an air and you do a week, or just
(16:20):
something that you're like, ah, and it's not necessary for
something for you to actually live.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
On, then maybe cut it out.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Because draining your energy drains your life and it keeps
you from excelling at things. So get rid of those
things that drain you. Okay, yes to fun, no to
what drains you. Your energy is sacred, guys, it is,
it's so sacred. And then joy rituals. Okay, So we're
(16:48):
talking about yes to bing go So the little things
you do each week to reset and feel good inside. So,
for example, maybe it's a long bath. Maybe it's a journaling,
maybe it's reading, maybe it's stretching.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
Cindy, what's your joy ritual?
Speaker 3 (17:04):
You love reading? Yeah, reading is fun because you just
get into Now I'm having to really focus on reading
more enjoyment novel novels versus self help.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
I love self help.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
But I'm like, come on, Cindy, like dive into a
good novel.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
So I'm working on that.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
But okay, okay, I read both. I like nonfiction though, too,
Yeah I do.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Yeah. So do I love just getting lost in a book? Truly?
Speaker 6 (17:31):
Me too?
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah, And when it rains, I feel like I have
a you know, a good excuse to sit down, stop
the world and have a good book and you know,
a cup of coffee or tea or you know, glass
of wine depending on the time of day, five o'clock somewhere.
But yeah, So for your inner glow, guys, protect your boundaries, okay,
and then find your joy rituals and do them. Be
(17:53):
ritual about it. Okay, you guys got to go to
a station break. We are talking about your summer glow. Up.
Stay with us, We'll be right back.

glow up, Okay, not grow up, glow up, and that
is how to make your makeup survive and be beautiful
during the summer heat, what to wear, a few things
that we told you about, and so kind of wrapping
(22:20):
it up, here are the few things that I'm going
to suggest you do. Okay, I'm going to actually give
you homework today.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Do you love that, Cindy.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
I don't normally give homework, but I felt like I
wanted to give you guys a little bit of a
plan of what to do now, because I gave you
a lot of stuff to go shop four and look at.
So the first thing, there's five Okay, you ready, So
five things your glow up homework. The first one is
take yourself on a solo iced coffee date.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
I don't care if it's dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, wherever, McDonald's, Panera,
don't really care. I'm not promoting a brand on that.
Just go and treat yourself. And I know Cindy probably
doesn't do iced coffee because she'll buzz around for like
a week and we won't be able to strap her in.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
But aside from Cindy, go and.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Get yourself and.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Iced tea.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I can do iced tea. Okay, if you're a tea lover,
just do it. Go treat yourself to a tea, sit
by yourself, maybe take a book, Cindy, okay, and just
enjoy a little bit of you time. Okay. So that's
the first one for your glow up homework is treat
yourself to an ice coffee or in Cidy's case, tea.
(23:37):
The second one, this is kind of a fun one.
Buy a bold dress. Okay, Now, if you're like Cindy,
I'm on a budget. I just got out of a relationship,
I just got divorced, my kids just went to college.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Guys, go we have.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
So many thrift stores and consignment stores in this town. Now.
Speaker 4 (23:56):

Speaker 3 (23:58):

visit them.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
They would love to see you.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Summertime slow around here, but if not, we have so
many incredible thrift and consignment stores. So treat yourself. If
you love red, get yourself a red dress. Cindy, I
love when it's like a fun thing to see what
you wear when I come because you're always wearing fun
colors and fun patterns.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Thank you.

Yeah, yeah, I like them. And I love a bold dress.
My apple dress is my favorite one.
Speaker 3 (24:27):

when you wear polka dots. So, guys, whatever that bold
is a bold color, a bold pattern.
