And I have a question for you. Okay, so are
you ready?

Speaker 4 (00:41):
What do the Beatles, Billy Joel, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan,
and Stacy Young all have in comment?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Do you know the answer? You're like, wait a minute,
I think I knew all of them, but maybe Stacy. Well,
let me tell you. They're all part of Music Works,
the concert series, bringing world class tribute shows right here
to Vero Beach. So today we're tuning in all right
to the rhythm of our town, the concerts, the artists,

(01:16):
the energy and the people that bring our community together. Now,
speaking of rock stars, is that good? Cindy, give me something?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Come what I know of lost.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Loston. But okay, let me try this again. And speaking
of rock stars, I'm excited to welcome back Stacy Young,
the powerhouse behind music Works, the concert series that keeps
Vera dancing all season long, from legendary tribute bands to
world class performers. We're getting a sneak peek today on

(01:55):
this episode the twenty twenty five twenty twenty six line
up up and the stories behind the shows. You do
not want to miss it. So grab your calendar, okay,
mark your favorites, all right, and get ready to be
inspired by the magic of live music and the person
okay behind it all. Please welcome back to Beating in

(02:17):
the Beach Radio, President of Music Works, Stacy Young.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Thank you so much for having me again. Have you
been called a rock star before?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Don't answer so okay, So I was just saying before
we went on the air, Stacy. Your kickoff okay for
the concert series starts November thirteen, and this is your
thirteenth year correct of concerts. What a lucky year.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
I love it. So bring us into this new year.
We know it's going to start with the thirteenth of November.
Who's kicking it? Off and wind is it in give
us that little, you know, timeframe of when we can
enjoy these concerts.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
So typically we run our shows between January and April
when the snowbirds are here so we can have a
you know, a better attendance. But all the shows, we've
decided because our seasons have been so successful that we
want to expand a little bit and try out some
new timeframes. Love it and we have the opportunity to
present Emerson, Lake and Palmer, the band that was very

(03:28):
famous fifty years ago, at the Emerson Center on November thirteenth.
And while two of those members of Emerson Lake and
Palmer are not here with us anymore, Carl Palmer still is,
so he'll be on stage with his band and they'll
be playing with a video of a performance that was

(03:49):
done back in the nineties.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
So it's very exciting.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
It's technology really put to great use, so we're excited
about that.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
That'll be on November thirteenth.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
There's also a Q and A with Carl Palmer that
happens before the show, so people can get a ticket
for that as well.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Wow, which I think is something new. Is it's sort
of new. You're adding some some Q and A. We'll
get to it and after I don't want to say
after party.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
After our reception.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah, so we'll be talking about that more. You're going
to run it all the way.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Through April, April, the beginning of April.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Okay, very good, So plenty of time for people to
grab some tickets and come to the concerts and we're
going to you know, make sure you know all about
them and the dates. You know, it takes a village
and obviously you're you know, you're the head of the village, Stacey,
but you've got sponsors. Do you want to do some
shout out on the sponsors that help.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You make this Yeah, I would love to do that.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
We are so grateful for all of our sponsors that
return every year to help support the mission of bringing
great music to Vero Beach.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
And we have Joe and Denise.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Corr who are presenting sponsors and they've been doing this
with us for a few years and now, so we're
super super grateful for them. John and Linda Colin Trelley
are also sponsors, ac And and Starkey Ocean Grill. Barbara Ruddy,
who is an amazing human being and has not only

(05:13):
sponsored our series of concerts. She's also sponsoring our benefit
concert for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, so we're very
lucky to have her too. We have Image three six
y Vero Beach, which is also helping us.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Out and looks like AMX and so the.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Mouse and Cindio Darren Richard Boga of Southeby's.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Wonderful, wonderful. So wow, what a great group of people
to really support you. So that's exciting for those who
have not experienced your concerts. You it's important that you
give back to the community. So this year, who are
some of those non nonprofit partners? I see you've got

(05:58):
Grand Harbor. I think Community out each is one of
your biggest ones.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Absolutely. Yeah, they've been great.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
We have the Emerson Center, so we helped to give
money for them as well, so they're supporting us too.
They're supporting us by what the nonprofit partners do is
they reach out to their donor list and that allows
their donor list to purchase tickets with a code which
twenty five percent of that purchase goes back to all

(06:23):
of our nonprofit partners.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Wonderful.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
So we have big brothers and big sisters of Indian
River County, and we have the Emerson Center, Grand Harbor,
Community Outreach as you mentioned, Senior Resource Association, and the
Women's Refuge of Zavero Beach.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Year all great organizations here and.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
They all picked really good shows.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
So they'll be reaching out to their donors to purchase
tickets to help them raise some money as well.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Love it, Oh my gosh, I love that. So people
can come, they can enjoy the music, the concert reminisce
of good old days, and actually also be helping the community.
Love It's such a win win win. So all right,
let's dive right in, Stacy, let's talk about that November
thirteenth concert. You kind of went into it a little bit,
but in case someone is just now tuning in, that

(07:11):
will be your kickoff concert. We're starting a little early,
and it's a good thing because I think it will
probably sell out. So tell us who is kicking off
November thirteenth the concert series.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
So again it's Emerson, Lake and Palmer and it's Carl
Palmer who will be there with his own band. They'll
be showing a video behind them that was recorded back
in the nineties and they'll be playing along with the video.
Love it, so it'll be like Carl Palmer and Emerson
and Lake are reunited.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
So I know, hello, Marty and Bev Paris. They gave
me some notes for today's show, and Bev is in
boldest is this is not a tribute.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
This is the.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Real thing, which you said, the real deal, guys, so
it is.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
We're very excited to have them, and I think they're
they are going to be a really special performance.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
And as you said earlier, there's a pre show VP
meet and greet and that is sold separately.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
Yes, okay, So there'll be a half an hour Q
and A with Carl Palmer, so if he's one of
your favorite musicians, you can have a chat with him
and ask many questions that you've been wanting to ask.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Wow, at the end of the show, we will give
the website so that you guys can be ordering your
tickets if you're already like, oh my gosh, I don't
want to miss that, which is coming up super fast.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
I know it's a month month, yes, yes.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Okay, so we have right after that, it's January fifteen.
Is that the next one? And that who's that?

Speaker 5 (08:37):
In January fifteenth, we have the Rascals with Felix Cavaliery
and they're coming back after being here a few years ago. Okay,
we're super excited to have them.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
That also is not a tribute, that is the real thing.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
So some of their hits are let's see good Lovin
Good Lovin grubn Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Beautiful more Okay, Cindy, we have to go to that one, right.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah, that's going to be a really fun concert.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
That's so exciting.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
They're very excited to be coming back, and they've been
touring quite a bit, so it'll be great when they
finally get here.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Okay. January fifteen, the Rascals. Okay, then we go right
into Boy, you're going to be busy in January, Stacy.
The twenty second.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
We have Neil Diamond.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
So we presented this concert last year. Jay White impersonates
Neil Diamond. He looks like him, and he sounds like him,
and he sings all of the hits and it was
sold out last year, so we're bringing him back so
anybody that didn't get a chance to see him can
see him next year.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
It truly amazes me when you see these tributes, Stacy,
you just go you feel like they are you know,
the actual person, but they are impersonating. But it's amazing.
So looking forward to seeing that Jay White with Neil
Diamond concert. Okay, then oh yeah, Yoey, I hope you're
going to get some rest again and we have we
move right in to the next week, January twenty ninth.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Who's playing there Forever Motown?

Speaker 5 (10:05):
And we had them also last year and that show
also sold out. It was fabulous, all of your favorite
Motown hits, so.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Smokey Robinson, the Supremes, the Temptations, Marvin Gay, Oh my gosh,
no wonder it's sold out.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
Yeah, And so for people that didn't get a chance
to see it last year, we're hoping they'll buy their
tickets early this year.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
You know, it's so funny. I've been to several now
and I love it. Cindy and I usually will hang out,
and it's funny to see when people get so excited Stacy,
they will get in the aisles and start dancing. Yes,
I love it.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Yeah, You're so happy that people are finally dancing because
I think maybe they felt like, because the Emerson Center
is also a church, they needed to be pretty chill. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Now everyone's getting up and really enjoying the music.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Love it, love it. Okay, So we moved to February fifth.
Who's performing then?

Speaker 1 (10:58):
On February very fifth, we have The Sixties. It's the
Sixties Show, Kelly.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
So The Sixties Show, Let's see is from New York
City and is the greatest sixties musical show on Earth.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
So The Sixties Show was here a few years ago
and they played to a sold out crowd. It's a
combination of all of your favorite songs from the sixties. Crosby,
Stills and Nash the Doors, just to name a few
of the bands that they cover. And it's a multi
media show, so they have a video behind them as well,

(11:33):
and it's more like a Broadway production than.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Just a concert. So we're very excited about that.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Oh my goodness, how exciting. All right, We're going to
move to February twelve. We have They of fifty second Street. Yeah,
this one I'm very very excited about.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
So The Lord's of fifty second Street is Billy Joel's
band that he recorded with for many of his albums
for thirty years. They worked together and the members of
those bands of that band got together and now they're touring,
so they're keeping Billie Joel's music alive and.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
That's gonna be fantastic.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
You know, that's probably the show I'm most excited about
this year.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
WHOA, Oh my gosh. Okay, I circle that one. February nineteenth,
we have Simon and Garfunkle.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
Yes, this is another one I'm really excited about. I'm
actually excited about all the shows that your babyes. So
this Simon and Garfunkle through the Years is a show
that's coming from London.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
The two gentlemen that play.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Simon and Garfunkle have amazing voices, and they will be
singing and they're just gonna be up there with their
guitars and they'll be singing all of Simon and Garfunkle's
greatest hit.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Bridge over Troubled Water, Sound of Silence, Missus Robinson.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yeah, all of them.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
All of them love that they sound great. It's gonna
be a wonderful show and something different. We've not had
a tribute like that before.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Okay. February twenty eighth, we have David Brighton's Space Oddity.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Yes, and I should mention that all of our shows
are generally on Thursdays.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
I did. Yeah, this show is actually on a Saturday night.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
David Brighton's Space Oddity is a really brilliant tribute to
David Bowie. Okay, and he'll be playing Ziggy Stardust and
Suffragette City and all of David Bowie's favorite hits. He
dresses like David Bowie, he looks like him, and he
sounds like him.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Wow, that's a great show.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Gets so entertained interviewing these people. You know, you're like,
oh my gosh, I really do look like you know
the character. Okay, moving on, we have March fifth, and
that is jo Born. Tell us about that.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
So Joan Osborne is an amazing talent. And she has
recorded an album of the songs of Bob Dylan, some
of the earlier songs, and she's going to be performing
that album with her band that night, So that will
be a great And you know, everybody loves Bob Dylan,
and maybe not his voice as much as hers, so

(14:00):
maybe she will bring her beautiful vocals to.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
His music and it's going to be a that'll be
a great show too.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Buckets of Rain, Masters of War, Spanish Harlem Incidents. Yeah, great, Okay,
And I believe there's a VFP.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
There is, Yes, there is one that's happening before the
show as well. That's it's going to start at five
o'clock and you'll have a chance to meet her and
communicate with her and ask her any questions that you
might have.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Love it. March twelfth, we have the Steely Dan Project.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Yes, this is a tribute that we had a few
years ago that was so great, and so they are
coming back and playing all their hits like Peg and
Hey nineteen and all of the Staley Dance songs that
you know and love.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Riky don't Lose that, Yes, that one too, all right,
I love it Okay. March nineteen a tribute to the
music of Freeden's Creedence.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Sweden's clear Word of revival. Talk about commotion, Okay, talk
to us about So this is a new tribute. We
haven't had them here before. Okay.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
I listened to their video and I've spoken to a
few people that have seen the show and it's fabulous.
They sound just like them, and they will also be
singing all of their greatest hits as well.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
It'll be a broad spectrum, so not just from one album,
but from their entire catalog of music.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Right, very good. We have one jumping to a Saturday
again March twenty first, Yes, Warner, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Warner and Journey.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
It's called FJA a tribute to Foreigner in Journey and
if you love Foreigner Cold des Ice Yeah, and if
you love Yeah and if you love Journey, don't stop believing.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Come to this show.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
I'm going to be in a band star.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
The best part is that we have American idol Rudy Cardinas.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
It's going to be performing with us.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
Oh.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
He has a phenomenal voice. And it's again more like
a Broadway show. It's just really rockin' and it's we
saw it. We had it last year and it did
really well, so we're having it back again.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
I want to Know We Love You is exactly.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Karaoke with Cindy Okay, don't get me up on that stage,
Stacy Okay. Thursday, March twenty six. Beatles versus Stone.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Yes, we have two bands and they each play a
bunch of the you know, the songs from the Beatles
and the Stones, and they battle it out.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
To see it's like a battle of the bands.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
I love this. Abbey Road in Satisfaction, the International Rolling
Stone show with the with the two of them duking
it out. Love love Love that Okay, April second, I
think is the last one. It is, and it's a
good one to end on.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Yeah, good vibrations.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
It's a celebration of the Beach Boys, so surf and USA.
Wouldn't it be nice all of the songs that you
know and love from the Beach Boys.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
I don't suppose Rob Low is going to be up
on stage, Azie, I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Isn't he the drummer for it?

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Might? Yeah, I think, okay, maybe not, but.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I think he's the drummer with the beach with his agent.

Speaker 3 (17:15):

look at, so uh anyway, So yeah, So a celebration

is so special, and it is a special project of Stacy's.
This isn't really something you've done before, is it? This whole? No,
in this capacity.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
No, This is a fundraiser for the Space Cost Symphony Orchestra.
November twenty second at the Emerson Center. The orchestra will
be playing with Tom Becker in a show called Back
Home Again, a Tribute to John Denver. So Tom Becker
does a great job impersonating John Denver and sings all
of John Denver's hits.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
But he'll be back by the orchestra.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
And what's special for me about this is that all
the proceeds will be going to the Space Cost Symphony
to help them continue to bring great music to the
community that's affordable and open to everyone.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
I love that you bring in your passion of music.
