Caught up with John Smoltz on the road in Waco, TX during the Texas HS Coaches association annual meetings. 22 year career coming back from 7 surgeries. 8 time All-Star and 1995 World Series Champion, one of his greatest accomplishments and honors is receiving the Roberto Clemente award in 2005 for his work off the field and in the community.
His will to win and never give up is something that is very special. His #29 retired by the Atlanta Braves His journey is told in the book "Starting and Closing: Perseverance, Faith and One More Year"
