Beverly Grandison, from Infinity Empowerment, discusses how to get the BEST health with science-backed and data-driven information.
Beverly Grandison's presentation at Legacy Day emphasizes proactive health management and community empowerment. She shares her personal health journey overcoming multiple sclerosis through holistic methods, advocating for food as medicine and the importance of mental and spiritual well-being. Grandison stresses the significance of lifestyle changes—nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and intermittent fasting—to combat lifestyle diseases and improve overall health outcomes. The presentation also addresses disparities in health within the Black community, urging a shift from hereditary beliefs about diseases towards embracing healthier habits and choices. Grandison encourages listeners to prioritize their health, form supportive communities, and challenge conventional medical approaches when necessary. Practical tools like salad jar recipes, breathing exercises, and resources like the China Study are offered to support immediate implementation.
Beverly Grandison discusses the following steps that people can take regarding their health
1:•Nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and intermittent fasting are simple steps to take, but people tend to overcomplicate these things while chasing a magic pill.
2.•Drink more water - A person should drink half their body weight in ounces of water and to tell yourself that you love water.
3....•Get more sleep - Sleep is non-negotiable.
4.•Eat real food - Real food does not come in a package and does not have a long label list.
5.•Practice deep breathing - Deep breathing can lower blood pressure.
6.•Move your body - Movement is non-negotiable, and if you don't move it, you're going to lose it.
7.•A person should make five lifestyle changes, knowing that disease is not hereditary.
8.•Nutrition includes water and real meals.
9•Be mindful by going outside to get some fresh air, hugging a tree, and walking outside with bare feet.
10.•Practice gratitude and find a word for the year to live into.
11.•Practice the breathing exercise 4-7-8.
