Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the brief on today's major breaking news stories. Okay,
so what's hitting the headlines right now? We're seeing some
really tough stuff, tragic events, a big political talk, and
this government shut down that just keeps going all kind
of breaking right around October twenty seventh, twenty twenty five.
(00:20):
First up, some really sad news coming out of Walt
Disney World down in Florida. TMZ's reporting three deaths there
in just ten days. Yeah, and listen to this. Two
of them have been ruled suicides, both at the contemporary resort.
One was a thirty one year old woman on October fourteenth,
the other a twenty eight year old man Matthew Cone
(00:40):
just today October twenty seventh. Sounds like he jumped. The
third death, a man in his sixties, seems to have
been a medical issue over at Fort Wilderness. Then switching gears,
President Trump, talking on Air Force one heading to Japan,
hinted he might just run again in twenty twenty eight,
said he'd love to do it and that his numbers
are great, but he did shoot down the idea of
(01:02):
running for VP, called that theory too cute. He also
took a swipe at Democrats like Representatives Crockett and Ocasio Cortes,
calling them low IQ. And finally, this government shut down,
well it's hit day twenty seven. That makes it the
second longest ever. The biggest federal workers union, the AFGE,
(01:23):
they represent like eight hundred thousand people. They're pushing hard
for lawmakers to pass a clean continuing resolution now, you know,
just fund the government, get people paid. President Trump, though,
he's blaming the Democrats for the whole mess, including those
air traffic controller shortages, and telling them to vote for funding.
So yeah, a lot going on. You've got tragedy, political games,
(01:44):
and a government standoff, all hitting at once.
