Speaker 1 (00:00):
H Happy Draft Day, everybody. We're finally here after months
and months of speculation. We're gonna find out what the
hell the New York Jets are gonna do. We've got
some juicy rumors and nuggets to react to you here.
(00:22):
Boy Green Daily starts right now. I'm gonna lose my
gash guard bananas. Boy Green Daily starts there.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Sweets boy, Buggy, Buggy Buggy, let's.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Go do.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Put your seatbelts on, getting ready for the ride.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
We're the freaking New York Jets.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
We're built for the ship. What's going on, everybody? I'm
paulist and Junior aka Boy Green. I'm the New York
Jets digital reporter for heavy dot Com and marry draft
(01:10):
miss everybody. It is Draft day, finally, April twenty fourth,
the first round. Even as the words are coming out
of my mouth, I'm still trying to believe it because
it's just been so much speculation and discussion about the pick,
and now we're finally here. I'm wearing the official Jets
Draft at twenty twenty five at Thank You to my father.
I'm wearing the official Jets twenty twenty five at draft shirt.
(01:33):
There you go, oh a draft logo right there if
you're watching it on YouTube. Okay, shout out to my mama, Papa, mamma,
get me all linked up for the draft. My birthday
is coming up in just a couple of days, over
the weekend or day three of the twenty twenty five
NFL Draft, and there's no place I'd rather spend it
talking all things draft. And before we get to anything,
I just want to thank everybody for being a long
(01:55):
for the ride. Whether you only watch one episode or
every episode or what have you on Boy Green Daily,
it means the world. I'm very passionate about this. I
love doing this, and I love that we've been able
to talk about this for a long time. So it's awesome.
We got some topics to get into pertaining to the
(02:15):
Jets and the draft and all that. But what I
would like you to do, if you're watching live or
even after the fact, both ways, because I'll try to
respond to both. Who are you predicting will be the
pick at seventh overall for the New York Jets. I
was going to do a poll, but I don't want
to limit it to whatever our small peanut brains say
as options, So it's filling the blank, Baby, put your
(02:36):
name to the pick. Shout out to Jared b our
moderator in the Jet, for getting this out. If you're
watching this after the fact, I still want to hear it.
Give us your predictions. What is going to happen, Not
what you want to happen, what you think is going
to happen. Seventh overall New York Jets first round tonight.
Let us know in the comments section, baby, and we'll
get to it here on the program. I have my
(02:57):
thoughts and as James says, hit the freaking like button, Baby,
hit the like button. Hit subscribed as a freeway to contribute. Now,
let's get right into it.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Here.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
We have an article on the YouTube description down below
on this topic matter. A new name has entered the
mix for the New York Jets recently, and some of
us have looked twice at it. I'm not gonna lie.
Texas offensive lineman Calvin Banks Junior. We've all been talking
about for months. Maybe Mason Graham, Michigan defensive tech. Oh,
(03:26):
perhaps Penn State tight end, Tyler Warren, Oh, No, it's
armand menbu at a Missouri the offensive lineman. Oh, perhaps
it's technic Mill and there's been all these names. A
name that's relatively fresh is Texas offensive lineman Calvin Banks Junior,
who before the college football season he was considered a
top five pick and then mel Kiper says he didn't
(03:47):
step up to the plate and thus he fell down
to the bottom of the first round, and now all
of a sudden he's back up. Daniel Jeremiah's final mock
draft that came out last night as they're doing their
dress rehearsal for the NFL Draft, he had Calvin Banks
Junior going sixth over all the Las Vegas Raiders. Dane
Brugln his final mockdraft had Calvin Banks Junior going six
(04:08):
of rawls the Las Vegas Raiders. And yesterday Jane Slater,
a wonderful Dallas Cowboys reporter and insider and also for
the NFL Network, she was dumping out her Cowboys notes
and there was a Jets note hidden in there. You know,
Cowboys fans apparently are interested in keeping Texas boy Calvin
Banks Junior in Texas by taking him with the twelfth
(04:29):
overall pick. But Jane Slater said, the problem is, quote
the Jets might scoop him up before Dallas as a
chance to grab him so the Jets could snipe my
father's Dallas Cowboys. Apparently, for Calvin Banks Junior, Jets pick
at seven, Cowboys pick at twelve. Maybe this is a
big smoke screen. I don't know, but she put that
nugget out there yesterday, which I find fascinating. But apparently
(04:52):
for you, you are to believe the latest mock draft
experts someone's gonna snipe the Jets before even they could
snipe somebody else. Kelvin Banks Junior going six. What the hell?
It's hard to know what to believe, but I want
to play a clip. Okay, so that's the Jets Cowboys.
Oh good, Kelvin Banks be the guy for the Jets.
Rich Samini had some eyebrow raising comments on the flight
(05:16):
Deck podcast that came out last night, where he gives
you the latest news and nuggets he's hearing. And there
was one clip from the show that made me go, huh,
where we're calling armand memboo quote unquote overrated and the
latest buzz on Kelvin Banks Junior. There's a lot going
on here, so we're gonna play this footage. This is
from the flight Deck podcast Rich Samini's podcast for ESBN
(05:41):
talking All Things Jets. That had the latest news and
nuggets in there, and I thought the most interesting clip
was what we're about to play. So a nice little
clip here, Let's play it, then we'll react to.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
It, Memboo. There's been so much attention on him that
you think he's gonna be the next Lane Johnson. To
be quite honest, I'm not even sure he's the first
or second offensive tackle on the Jets board. He is
a very talented player, but I think he's been gotting
caught up in this draft type machine that he might
be a little overrated at this point. Keep an eye
(06:11):
on Kelvin Banks Junior. I've been talking about him for
seven days several days now, wrote about him in my
Sunday Notes on Sunday, actually took him in our ESPN
NFL Nation Mock Draft. Now it seems like everyone is
on the Banks bandwagon. He's a three year starter at Texas.
He won the Outland in Lombardi Trophies. He's sixty five
(06:32):
three fifteen. He's had only four pressures allowed, only four
pressures allowed in five hundred and ten pass blocking snaps
last season. He kind of is getting dinged a little
bit because three of those pressures came against Georgia in
an October game. He did give up a sack that game.
It was his worst game. He was playing on a
(06:54):
guimpi ankle, and so I think some people downgraded him
to more of like a mid to late first round pick.
But I've talked to a bunch of scouts and evaluators
who think he's right up there with Will Campbell and
armand Membu as the best three tackles in the draft.
So I'm telling you Banks is in the conversation at
(07:15):
seven with the Jets. They might even have him over Membo.
So ideally you'd like a trade back scenario and pick
up Banks a few picks later. Tackles are going to
go fast in this draft because the supply isn't going
to last that long. I don't see lasting. If you
can't get a tackle in the first round, you might
(07:36):
not get one in this draft. So the Jets, we
all know they need a right tackle, you know, but
if they can get their guy, they'll have their bookends
for a decade. You got Fishana on the left side,
and whoever they pick on the right side. I mean
Aeron Glenn games from the Detroit Lions, where they had
arguably the best offensive line in the league. And who
did they take in their first draft pick of the
(07:57):
Dan Campbell era. They took Pine Sool and you know
he now he's been a stalwart at right tackle. I
don't know if there's any Pinae Sools in this draft,
but you know they could get a good right tackle
at number seven. Membu was just ridiculous at the scouting combine.
That's where his uh, his stock really ran. His stock
(08:20):
just exploded. He ran a four to nine to one
in the forty yard dash and uh, since you know,
since two thousand and three, there've only been a handful
of guys three hundred and thirty pounds are heavier to
run sub five o's in the forty, you know, Membu
being one of them. So he is that kind of guy.
(08:41):
But scouts tell me he is a little bit raw,
a little raw around the edges, and we'll need some seasoning.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
A lot to unpack there from rich Simini, a lot
to unpack there. We'll get into all of it here
in a moment. Shout out to NC Green Baby hitting
us with a YouTube super chat every time we get
one of those, we hear from my wonderful, amazing intelligent
daughters Riya, Luna, Wrah and See Green Baby saying Paul,
(09:08):
thanks for all your efforts. Boy, Green Daily just rocks, Baby,
Thank you so much, n See Green. I appreciate the
support and I love doing this show. I absolutely love
doing this show. With your prior super Chat contributions, that's
another raffle ticket for this month, another notch in your
belt a young man, So thank you very much. Appreciate that. Hey.
(09:31):
Now keep them flowing, baby, keep the super chats and
memberships flowing well. Have a special draft giveaway late tonight.
We have a lot of content happening. Let me do
a quick detour on that real quick. So we're live
right now, obviously, Okay, three o'clock, Me and Woody are
going to break down all of the latest rumors. I
have an entire spreadsheet of all the rumors I've heard,
(09:51):
and we will buy or sell factor fiction. We'll talk
about all that live at three o'clock, and then we'll
be live once more, baby, at eight o'clock to night.
We will have a four plus hour live stream of
the entire first round of the twenty twenty five NFL
Draft with spectacular guests joining us throughout the night. I've
got one of my radio producers that's gonna be behind
the scenes helping us with the show. And we're gonna
(10:14):
have two homage giveaways, baby, for people that are gifting
and being involved on the live draft broadcast. That is
how you guys will be eligible. So two separate homage
giveaways live on the show to give back to you
the fans. So I can't freaking wait, Baby, It's gonna
be awesome. So again, Boy Green Daily, Boy Green Meantswoitty
and then live show that we've been talking about for
(10:36):
quite some time. I'm looking forward to it now here,
thank you NC Green for the superrit chat. Here's my
problem and Alan said it in the middle of that
clip playing let's give us some love to Alan in
the chat. Okay, here's my problem with Kevin Banks junior. Okay,
I get I get it all. It's a prospect that's
gone full full circle before the college football season that
(10:58):
just played. It was a top five pick. Then the
season happens. Oh wait, now he's a light first. Oh wait,
wait wait, actually he's a top five pick. So you know,
the volatile draft stock is sort of weird, but the
biggest thing for me. Kelvin Banks Junior played forty two
games in college. He was an eighteen year old starting
on the offensive line of Texas. Very impressive. But that
(11:19):
was that left tackle, not right tackle. Left tackle, and
we have our left tackle, Alu fashion New. I don't
want to move Alu fash New. If Joe All was
in this draft, okay, we could have a conversation. But
Kelvin makes Junior ain't Joe All. And that's exactly what
Allen said here, because this was exactly what I was
gonna say when the club was over. I know, all right.
(11:42):
So everyone said last year the Chargers aren't gonna take
Joe All at five and say, hey, buddy, learn right tackle.
He's a great left tackle, and they did, and it
worked out. Joe All was really good last year. He's
a really good player. But everyone could make that transition
from the left side of the right sete. You're telling
me the Jets with the top seven pick are to
take a guy and say, hey, do the other side
(12:03):
something you've never done before outside of maybe high school,
like a bully. I don't love that. I don't want
to draft a guy and say, hey, I know you
did this in college, but I want you to do
this instead. I don't love when you're making those kind
of projections because sometimes they don't work, and then what
do you do? And here's the other thing. So we
have the left tackle right tackle thing. Right, he's played
left tackle. The jetter said, hey, play right tackle. There
(12:25):
are at least three prominent people. We talked about this
with Lindsay Lindsay Rhods. Lindsay Lindsay Rhoads on the show yesterday.
There are several key evaluators that have Calvin Banks is
a guard. We're taking a guard at the top seven.
By the way, where the hell is he playing? Huh?
We got John Simpson, we got Abt. Now, if one
of those guys aren't resigned next year, I guess Bank
(12:47):
could be the guard next year. But you're telling me
we get a guy who plays right tackle and he
hasn't really played before. And then the next yer, oh
don't worry, he's a guard. Talk about lighting value on
fire with gasoline. With the top seven pick, we takeing
a right tackle slash guard. I think not so, hey, man,
that's my biggest problem with the cover makes Junior. It's
not really the player. Okay, wonderful won all these awards
(13:09):
for being one of the best offensive linmen in the country,
the best offensive line in the country. Excuse me, but
left tack and the right tackle don't like ee. And
then a lot of key evaluators that I believe in
are like, maybe he's a guard and I'm like, oh, oh, bully,
that's what gives me the he b gbis. We got
three hundred plus people in the room, like the video
hit subscriber trying to make a chase to ten thousand subscribers. Baby,
(13:31):
help us.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Like I said, keep those predictions coming. We want to
put some We want to put a name to your pick.
I don't want people coming at me, oh boy, all
of a sudden, this the whole time. Well, make sure
you have i'ment secret so we can get some receipts.
So who do you think? Now, who do you want?
Who do you think is going to be the pick
at seventh overall the New York Jets. So let's see
(13:56):
some people like the cove makes Junior pick awesome. Like
I said to me, my big beef with it is
the left tackle right tackle thing. Don't love it, Terrence
Hill say, the Draft Day Live show, it's gonna be awesome.
I've done it once before in twenty twenty three, but
I had no idea what the hell I was doing.
If I'm being honest, no frigging clue. I had no idea,
And I think I learned a few tricks of the trade.
(14:17):
Hopefully I have. Like I said, the phone lines will
be open tonight. We'll have live giveaways tonight. We'll have
a bunch of cool guests. Jericho Coatree's gonna join us
off the top of the show. After I do a
mini introduction. He'll be jumping on talking Draft Day stories.
And I'm so happy. I've had the pleasure of talking
to Jerko several times. He's a college football coach. Now
we'll talk about that too, So that's gonna be cool.
(14:38):
I just can't wait. It's gonna be an electric show.
My father's gonna be on the show. James Woody's gonna
be on the show. Drew Baidy, who's been doing a
bunch of our draft shows, He'll be on NFL Insider,
Matt Lombardo will be on. I'm trying to make sure
I get everybody, and then there's even more than that.
So I just can't wait. It's gonna be a terrific show.
Terrific show. There it is another super check coming in,
easy hit and win it. Wow, it's all fiction until
(15:03):
eight o'clock this evening, because that's something we'll also do
at three o'clock. Is what we're going to determine is
what what in the world is real? And what is
smoke screen? What could be smoke screen? By the way, easy,
you're on the board with a raffle ticket. Thank you,
you're on the board with one. Remember the b MAC
emoji is up for grabs, so guys continue to keep
(15:26):
those flowing. But yeah, the real thing is to determine. Again,
I bring this up all the time for people that
watch Game of Thrones, there is a character called Peter
Baylish okay Bailish, right, And Peter Baylis shays this one
scene with Sansa Stark, where he's saying, what is the
motivation of your enemy?
Speaker 7 (15:47):
Right?
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Like why do they do the things they do? And
once you can figure that out, people become predictable basically
because you find out their motivations, Like when I you know,
here's one we'll talk about later, so I'll just spoil it. Right. So,
there's been a lot of buzz that the Jets are
all over George's Jalen Walker, the off ball linebacker slash
(16:07):
ed dresser out of Georgia. We'll talk about that more
detail at three o'clock, but let's just talk about it
for a second. Why would that story suddenly come up?
What's going on there? What's the truth? What's going on?
And Connor Rogers said on social media, why would that
come up? Well, Carolina has been all over Jalen Walker.
Panthers pick eight, Jets pick seven. He's had a trade
(16:30):
smoke screen say, oh, the Jets are all over him.
Panthers get a little froggy like, oh geez, we don't
want to lose our guy. Hey, Jets, we'll do what
you did last year where you traded from ten to
eleven with Minnesota. Who quick little flip flop, pick up
a couple of picks, we get the same guy we
wanted because we really didn't want jail Walker, and then boom.
Maybe that's one possible explanation again the Peter Bailish, What
(16:51):
is the motivation of the moves that are made, the
rumors that are out there, why would someone want that
roomor out there? What's going on? Get the cogs spinning?
If you catch my drift, I'm like that guy with
the rubber bands, right and the conspiracy theories. What if
this means this and this means this, then what the
hell is going on? But too Easy's point a lot
(17:12):
of fiction until we get to the draft. It's kind
of like, I'm a big Survivor fan, right, people talk
talk talk on Survivor. You know, you get eighteen castaways
in an island out there in Fiji, the but the
medal is proven a tribal council where you must vote
off one of your cast mates on the show. That's
the truth. Everyone could say whatever they want, but then
(17:34):
once it comes down to the voting, you come up
to the voting booth, you write down a name, and
you show it to the camera. That's the truth. Everything
else you said is just nothing. That's the real truth test. Okay,
where does this person really stand? I would have thought
it'd be making a Survivor reference on draft day. You're welcome,
(17:54):
so keep that in mind. Free Siblings says, it's not
that hard to switch over. You know what, You're right,
three siblings. I don't think I could name any offensive
tackles that were asked to go from one side to
the other and struggle. No, wait a minute, up, there's
a few. It's not that hard to switch over. It's
a very easy thing to say for us out in
(18:16):
the streets. But again, use whatever reference you want that
we've talked about over the course of history. Mine is
a bit more crude, but I think it fits. Again.
If you're right handed, you wipe your ass with the
right hand. Imagine, just for giggles, trying it with your left.
Not as effective. It's difficult. You're doing everything the opposite.
(18:38):
Some people can do it very well, Joe Alt. Some
people can't. I'm just telling you, I don't think it's
as easy as you're indicating. Three siblings. I don't think
it's as easy. Some people can do it better than others.
I hope whoever the Jets pick. And this is another message,
I guess because this came up in the what's that
twenty eighteen draft? Right? A player I adamantly did not
(19:01):
want his Josh Allen, the quarterback at Wyoming. I thought
that guy was captain bust and he had must written
all over him. But I told myself before I went
to a draft party that night to watch and consume
the draft, I said, no matter who the Jets pick,
I'm going to embrace that individual, and I want to
root for the best. I'm not going to just try
to hate him and prove that my draft taker's right.
(19:22):
That's stupid. I'd love to be wrong. And obviously I
was dead wrong. Not in a good way because he
went to the Buffalo Bills. But you get my point,
No matter who, We've all been debating picks for months. Right,
let me just throw this up there. I'll lay my
cards on the line here, right. You know we're all
making predictions. Let me make mine very clear. I've put
(19:43):
it out on social media here, Okay, here you go.
The Jets know the mission. It's Tyler Warren, no matter what, Baby,
that's the mission for the New York Jets tonight, Tyler Warren,
no matter what. The Penn State tight end movie Draft Day.
Right at the beginning, Kevin Costner has this little note.
At the beginning of the movie, he tucks into his
pocket and despite whatever crazy ass trades or anything that happens,
(20:05):
it's the same mission no matter what. So New York Jets,
you know the mission, Baby Tyler Warren, Tyler Warren, that is,
that is the mission. So that's where I'm at. But AnyWho,
the point is that no matter where you are, right,
there's people Warren Warriors, there's armand Membu people, there's every
people under the sun. And no matter where you are,
(20:27):
we all will we all should embrace. I will tell
you what to do, I guess, but we should embrace
whoever that is and hope for the best no matter
who that player is. We'll see if that can happen. Yeah,
all right, another super Chat member shout out coming out here.
Let's wow fl film ninety eight. Been a member for
(20:53):
nine months. Thanks Philliam. Great options, very optimistic, trust AG
and DM and that's the thing of the Shroud of Mystery.
Aaron Glenn has never been a head coach. Darren Moojie
has never been a GM. We have no freaking idea
what positions they like. He's been very coy in press conferences.
No idea. But I'm optimistic too. I think there are
(21:13):
a lot of different paths. There's a lot of ways
to get a cat I'd say Tyler Warren no matter
of because that's what I want. But there's a lot
of things that can happen tonight that I'm like, Oh okay,
oh all right, I see it. Yeah sure so hey man, Yeah,
let's see here. Let's a catch up. Whoa Mama, Sita,
(21:35):
got a massive super check coming in from Alan. Baby, Hey,
now wow, and that's worthy of more than that. Let's
get a little ikey shuffler number forty four.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Whoa forty four?
Speaker 8 (21:49):
Ask me get some cold cuss, get some cold cuts,
get some cold cut?
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Whoa do so?
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, Baby, appreciate you Allen. Thank you for twenty dollars
super chat coming in here. Appreciate your pal. Good luck tonight, BG.
I'll be feet away from Jerry, curious to see if
a call comes in from Mooji at seven. I love
genty think Graham will be BPA play at l versus
Carolina and trade back for Walker gun to head. Warren
will be the pick A lot to unpack here, Alan,
(22:18):
And thank you so much for the super chat. I appreciate, buddy.
So if you hear anything from Jerry, feel free to
share Allan during the live show. I don't know if
you could call on live when you're next to Jerry.
But let me know, I am curious to see if
a call comes in, yeah for Moogie at seven, that'd
be wonderful. We'll see if genty's on the board man.
(22:39):
There's obviously been a lot of speculation that Genty could Obviously,
we've heard a lot of Genty at six forever Ashton
gent Boys' date running back to the Las Vegas Raiders
at six. Now we've heard buzz that Ashton Genty to
the Jacksonville Jaguars at five. Now we've heard buzz that
the shit Caggo Bears could say if all you bastards,
we're trading up to four in New England and we're
getting Ashton Jay. So I have no idea what the
(23:01):
hell is going to be happening, but there is some
buzz that someone could trade into the top ten for
Ashton genty, maybe even higher than that. She'll keep an
eye on that. I love genty two. You say you
think Graham will be BPA And what is this the
Kyle Brady Warren zap draft For Pete's sake? Again, obviously,
I hope Toy Warren works out a lot better than
Kyle Brady. But you get the point. I love Mason
(23:23):
Graham a lot. And the thing that I keep saying
here is everyone assumes that all these things are just
automatically gonna have. Oh, Mason Graham's going to Jack though,
Mason Graham's going Jey. What if he doesn't? Okay, what
if he doesn't. I just want to throw the question
out there. How does all of our mock drafts light
on fire immediately with that? You know what I mean?
They've got a brand new head coach, never been a
(23:44):
head coach before. They have a brand new GM in Gladstone.
He's like twelve years old, he's never been a GM before.
What if they do something else then all of a sudden,
Who's taking Graham? Is a Vegas at six? Maybe? And
if Graham's on the board at seven, I've been a
Warren were I love Mason Graham and people questioned the fit.
Oh he's a three technique, Quinnin's a three technique. I
think Mason Graham is so good. You just figure it
(24:05):
out and get another big boy defensive tackle. This draft's deep,
get another defensive tackle later. That's why I did my
mock draft on whatever day. That was Tuesday with Woody, Like,
come on, man, figure it out. Get another big boy
that could be your run stuffer. Get Graham. Imagine that
defensive line. You get Jermaine Johnson, you get Quinn Williams,
you get Mason Graham, Get freaking will McDonald's. Sign me
(24:28):
the hell up. Look at that NASCAR package getting freaky.
I love that, So you can sign me up on
the Graham action. And I love the NFC. Now NFC South,
excuse me battle there we get Atlanta who wants a
pass rusher bat at fifteen? Carolina who wants a pass
rusher bat at eight? Now fifteen is a little further
back than I would like. It would depend on the
(24:49):
package obviously that you receive. It better be significant if
I'm dropping all the way to fifteen. But yeah, I
love pushing teams against each other. They're competing for the
same things. Makes a lot of sense, So good to head.
Warren will be the pick, all right, Alan is a
forcible Warren Warrior. But we'll accept you on the bandwagon
all the same, brother, appreciate it. Thank you for the
super chat pal Tyler Warren. No matter what, baby, no
(25:14):
matter what. Let me see here. I just want to
make sure I didn't miss any more super chats or
anything here. All right, all right, okay, we'll do this.
We'll open up the phone lines early here on the program,
keep the super chats coming, keep the phone calls coming,
and the membership's flown. You guys can join the Boy
Green Coffee Club in the YouTube description down below. Okay,
(25:35):

super reasonable, and you can help support what I do
as a content creator, which I'd really appreciate. Again, in
the YouTube description down below, just says join the Boy

a bunch of people on the show today, Baby, Let's
(27:20):
get a fellow Warren Warrior on the program. James kicks
us off. What's up, James, Good morning, Good sir, Good
morning sir.
Speaker 11 (27:29):
All right, So there's a lot of there's gonna be
a lot of the smoke blowing out there.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
That's all this stuff is.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
It's smoke, it's noise.
Speaker 11 (27:37):
Whether we drop down a couple picks, whether we stay
at seven. There is one and only one that we need.
Tyler Warren t W. I don't want to hear the
Kevin the Kelvin Banks. Listen if it.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Is an all lineman, whoever that may be. Now they
say membo being, you know, like the rich Samini thing.
He's a he's a uh it was overrated.
Speaker 11 (28:07):
The combine blew him of all this nonsense. There's gonna
be a lot of chatter throughout this whole day. The
one bride and truth thing that I do know is
this guy, Tyler Warren will be a stud. I don't
know where he's gonna go. I do know that he
will be an absolute stud and we got to get
him on board. I've said it, I'll continue to say it.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
That's my guy.
Speaker 7 (28:31):
You already know what it is. That's all I got.
Let's go jet.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
There is James baby a Warren Warrior. Keep the keep
the strength, brother, keep the strength. You love to see it, baby, Yes,
Tyler bleeping Warren, let's freak in and go. Well, perhaps
there's another path. We have a YouTube super chat coming
in from our bot Loura, Lily and Big d baby,
(28:59):
may send Graham Baby. My day of hope during the
year is draft day. As Hap says, let's go damn straight. Yeah,
Mason Graham would be awesome. I want Lie. I love
Mason Graham. It felt so unrealistic for such a large
period of this draft cycle because of the Oh, he's
going to five, he's going to fight a championsville, He's
(29:21):
going to fight it. Oh wait, well, h hey, smokescreen,
what's green? I don't know where. Suddenly Mason Graham could
be available. Come on, man, come on man. Mason Graham
would be freaking awesome on this defensive line'd be terrific,
be terrific. But the real question is if you go Graham,
or really any position I guess is, how do you
feel about the other positions? Right you go defensive tackle,
(29:43):
how do you feel about right tackle, tight end around
two and three or vice versa? Right you take your
tight end here? What about right tackle? Defensive tackle two
and three? Because I think those are the picks if
we're gonna boil it down. Hey, Paul, gun to your head.
What are the three positions that will be attacked at
seven forty two seventy three? What are the three positions,
Paul gone to my head in no particular order, tight end,
(30:06):
right tackle, defensive tackle. That feels to me, what's gonna happen.
We can we can all debate the order where it's
gonna be. Maybe again, maybe get the Jalen Walker or
the John A. Baron smoke again. Maybe it's someone completely
off the reservation. But what I believe the truth is
between all the bs is right tackle, defensive tackle, tight end.
(30:28):
That's what I believe. For Lily and Big D excuse me,
thank you so much for the super chat coming in, babe,
very nice, Thank you very much. All right, let's go
back to the phone Lunch've got a lot of people
waiting on the show. Up next, Phil Young graces us
with his presidence fail Phield ninety eight. What's up, brother?
(30:49):
How you going?
Speaker 12 (30:50):
Paul?
Speaker 3 (30:51):
I just wanted to jump on real quick. I'm on
the ground bandwagon one hundred percent. I get the warrant,
the warrant talk, and I've kind of laid back this
whole month because of all the you know, cross talking.
I don't think anybody's wrong. I think the options are great.
I'm gonna I'm gonna love the pick. I think whether
they stick and pick or move or whatever they do.
(31:13):
I just think that, like the lath of fricking options
is wonderful, you know, and it just makes me feel
good to be in that position for a change. But
I've been saying, you know, weeks ago, I said that
I would prefer out of my first three or four picks,
I'd like to get a couple of impact players on
defense because I think this could be a top ten
(31:33):
defense with a couple of chips.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
Because it's a good defense.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
We got the influence of these new you know, these
new guys I think can take us to a different level.
We already have a core of talent, so I think
if you can make this a top ten defense, having
a little more pedestrian offense won't kill us. And I
do think there's other options at tight end, wide receiver.
And we're not done after the draft. There's more to come.
(31:58):
So we got salary cap room. This regime is running
things extremely well. I'm very happy and excited.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
All right. Love it, Fillium, Thank you, another Mason Graham guy.
Put that in the notch Okay, Mason Graham. There you go,
Phillium on the Mason Graham train.
Speaker 7 (32:14):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah, I hear what Philliam's saying. Makes a lot of
sense about adding a few more because obviously there's a
foundation of talent on defense that you just have a
few more alterations. I think the scheme's gonna help to
is a freshness coming in there. Aaron Glenn historically has
been really good against the run, just his defense in general. Now,
obviously it's gonna take time with pieces coming in, but
(32:36):
like that part of it I feel really good about.
But I think I speak for a lot of Jet
fans here when we talk about you know, Philliam said,
you know, if we have a pedestrian offense, you know,
if we have the better defense, it's the pairing. I
think Jet fans have seen such pedestrian offenses for so
long that we're like, come on, man, if we have
a little bit of a pedestrian defense, five, but let's
score some points. I think that's how some people feel
(32:59):
about that. To be honest, We've got another super check
coming in here. Aunt Jets eighty two. He's been a
member for a month. He says, can we play the
HEP song? Again?
Speaker 13 (33:07):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (33:08):
I'm a man of the people.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
Hit Ball of Green Buddy Buggy plugging.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Hoky Jets, football man, bauld budging d Budgy Budgy.
Speaker 11 (33:25):
You don't just football hub.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Ollestin this specialties watch chess football with my green Jay
gee gee yes, Chess chest Chess.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Aunt Jets Sadi two. If you're gonna twist my arm.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
Play it, play it?
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Okay, Okay, I'll play it. Come on, man, of course
I'll play that damn song. It's a classic. Hell yeah,
thank you Aunt Jets eighty two for that one. I'll
do you one better. How about the man himself at
join us here on the program.
Speaker 7 (33:57):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Let's go there you go. That's craze. I love it.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
What's on the menu for tonight, Paul?
Speaker 1 (34:04):
This is an excellent question. So I was discussing this
with my fiance last night because obviously we have to
have we have to have all our bells and whistles
in line here. We can't be I was gonna say, well,
you know, we're on drafted. We can't be fucking around
over here. We're gonna have our shit in order, baby.
So she has presented some options of home cooking, which
I'm always intrigued by. And then she also said, you know,
(34:26):
there is also option B where you order out and
the wings and pizza and everything's coming in, and I'm like, Okay,
I just gotta have some clean hands because I'm pressed
a lot of buttons.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
Back.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
I love the food, or maybe I have a professor,
Maybe I gotta hire someone to be feeding me, you know,
as a on the draft like food just coming on. Yeah, exactly,
And she just sort of handed me whatever the food
is from off camera and I'm just giving it a munch.
So yeah, there's there's the pizza, wings, everything of that option.
And also she's offered some potential home cooking. One of
my favorite meals she makes is she does a crusted
(34:57):
pretzel chicken with this like homemade pent Oh god, that
is it is a doozy. Baby, that is a doozy.
So yeah, either option is pretty good for me tonight,
that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Yeah, that's definitely good. I'm gonna check out Draft Day.
I never hadn't seen it yet. I'll watch it today
for the first time.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
You and James Woody is another one. He's gonna watch
it now. I was gonna watch it because I have
to watch it on Draft Day, so it has to
be like midnight or later on Thursday. I don't watch
it the night before and I was gonna watch. My
fan said, well, you can't watch it without me. I'm like, oh, okay,
So she's in, so we're gonna squeeze it in. We're
doing Boy Green Daily Now radio show. I'm gonna run
fast home. Police better be not looking because I'm speeding.
(35:35):
I get all the way home, Draft Day in, and
then Boy Green meets Woodies at three o'clock, so I
should be able to time it out. So yeah, So
anyone who's never seen Draft Day, you know, fix your
life immediately, baby.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Yes, okay, So you got Wooty at what like three o'clock.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Three o'clock, that's right. So we'll have another draft rumor show.
We got a bunch of stuff for that, and then
the live show at eight o'clock.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
All right, man, I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
That's going Wait, let's go halp. That's it baby. Oh,
that's awesome, terrific for Lily and Big d With a question.
I have one question about the song. What in the
hell is what's the thing in the back dancing a
dog a monkey?
Speaker 2 (36:11):
What?
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Okay, let's let's just play this. Let me just see
what's going on football, man, I've seen some dogs a
pumpkin headed individual perhaps, you know. To be honest, I
don't know. I let gators creative mind sort of take
over and go where he will. I'm not really sure,
(36:34):
but it's kind of like if you watch a movie
once you're like, oh, that was a great movie, and
they watch it again you notice something else. Now, I'm
not really a thespian, right. My old radio partner, a
Bud Polloquin, loves going to plays and things of that nature.
Musical if you enjoyed that, God bless you know. Hey,
different strokes, different folks. But he says because he goes
to a lot of plays and he sees like the
same play like a thousand times, which I sort of
(36:56):
don't get.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Well.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
His explanation of why he does it is because he
says he looks at different parts of the place at
different times, and thus he catches different things. So maybe
the hep song is ooh is there that a dog
over there?
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Is that a pumpkin? Hey go to town. Maybe enjoy
all the different things that happen to be in life beautiful,
all right? I keep the super chats. The membership's flowing.
Maybe we also have a ton of phone calls to
get to let's roll. All right, we've got ah Hop
on Pop tonight and Abu Dabi.
Speaker 13 (37:27):
Hey, Now how's it going?
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Hey, it's going great. Pop. We're gonna be great. To
see you later this evening as well. Which wait, what
time is it right now? Like threeish? Over by U?
Speaker 7 (37:37):
Fourish?
Speaker 1 (37:37):
Maybe four? Okay, there you go after four? Okay, four o'clock.
Speaker 13 (37:42):
Yeah, So.
Speaker 9 (37:45):
I don't understand your warring Warrior whatever that loser's name.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Warren Warrior. Yes, that's okay, sure, snap right.
Speaker 9 (37:53):
Anyways, if brock Bowers, who had disdained superior performance NCAA,
was not worthy of the pick, you did not want
him last year, right.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
I wasn't well?
Speaker 9 (38:08):
Right, well, because on your shows you're all over the
place and seldom land on one. So you were not
You were not rooting for him to get him. You
were not upset when they didn't draft him. No, if
and he is not your war and warriors. He's not
the caliboy brock Bowers. He doesn't have the sustain performance.
And so what I don't understand is last year the
(38:29):
Jets offense was improved. And the reason they went with
the record they went or they received was the defense.
So you definitely need Mason Graham as the pick, no
questions asked. He's available, and if he's not, you need
the next best person, right, because the darkness man boy,
(38:51):
whatever his name is, right, the tight end was in
the darkness because our man didn't drop a freaking past.
Conklin didn't drop pass that was thrown to him.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Did you know that?
Speaker 9 (39:04):
And so the tight end position was underutilized. But every
time we threw him the ball, he caught the ball.
We decided to let him go for a pocket change.
I have more money in the couch over there and
the cushions than Conklin went for. So tight end wasn't
the reason we lost or didn't we won five games.
It was that defensive line, so it's gonna be defensive
(39:26):
tackle first. Tight End wasn't the reason we lost the games.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
So this will be my counter to that. And this
may be unpopular, but I just sort of say what's
on the mind, and it's this.
Speaker 7 (39:42):
I saw it.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
So we obviously we know what happened with brock Powers
last year. It happened, so we know the stats we
know everything that happened, and I'm saying right now, even
knowing everything that happened, if you're telling me that we
had two choices this year, right, So the Jets took
brock Powers last year and then took an offense tackle
this year, or reverse right, they ended up with Olu
(40:03):
Fashiono and then maybe they'll draft the tight end. We'll
see what happens tonight. But let's just say for ships
and giggles that it's just the reverse right. We either
would have gotten tight end last year off its tackle
this year or the opposite. I would prefer this result
if the Jets get Tyler Warren because I think Olu
Fashionu is a better left tackle than any left tackle
we could have acquired this offseason for the present and
(40:25):
the future, to get Olu Fashiona last year. Oh for
brock Bowers, who was awesome?
Speaker 12 (40:29):
Is you know?
Speaker 1 (40:30):
I know a lot of people are canning the Jets,
don't I see it every once in a while. I
don't care that brock Bauer said this awesome season because
I believe in Olu fashion So we're this year we're
talking about that debate. Ola Fashioner me is better than
any left tackle that's on the board. So I got
the better left tackle and if I get a slightly
worse tight end, okay, then fine.
Speaker 9 (40:50):
You picked the side of the argument that doesn't exist.
I am not disparaging Olu fashion or last year's pick.
What I am saying is that your Warren Warriors is
not even the same league as brock Powers and you
didn't want it. I'm also again, tackle was the biggest
gap last year that we needed to fiell I agree
(41:12):
with that, right, I'm saying this year it's defensive tackle
is the biggest need because we don't utilize the tight end.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
Well, here's here's the problem. So two things here. First off,
going back to last year, I wasn't anti brock Bowers,
but I wasn't as pro as I am this year
for Ty Warren because I thought left tackle was so important.
If brock Bears would have been the pick, I wouldn't
have been upset. I would have gotten excited about it,
but I didn't. I wasn't outwardly rooting for it. Man,
they again the note, oh boy brock Bowers, No matter what,
(41:42):
I did not say that last year. So again, past
forwarding into this year, to your point, like we're not
debating this position or this position debating defensive tackle. Here's
my problem. It's Mason Graham and then guys at seven.
And if Mason Graham's era, let's have the conversation tonight.
If he's not there, I don't think there's a defense
to tackle in my opinion worthy of seventh overall. So
(42:03):
then people just say, well, trade back. Well, ever wants
a trade back, but you need two to tang the
So if Mason Graham's there, I'm with you, that'd be
a fun super pick. Let's let's add Mason Graham to
the group. But it's more likely than not that he's
not there, and thus you can't fill this defensive tackle
need that you want unless you're able to trade down,
which you need to to tank.
Speaker 8 (42:21):
Go.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Yeah, and there's gonna be dancers.
Speaker 9 (42:24):
There's gonna be people ready to tango.
Speaker 7 (42:26):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 9 (42:28):
I guess, not the need and the you know are
some people say, Warren your boy. There is not even
the top tight end in the draft.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
There are, Yeah, there's people out there in the universe of.
Speaker 9 (42:40):
The disparity between the tight ends. You can get a
solid tight end. And I'm not going to say fan,
but I'm gonna say, our gentleman from Syracuse, that's what
we need. We need a weapon, right and it doesn't
have to be the most expensive weapon in the store
to get the value we need.
Speaker 7 (42:57):
So trade back.
Speaker 9 (42:58):
I will talk to you later.
Speaker 13 (42:59):
I'll you get back.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Looking forward to it. Pop, we'll see you later. Since
he's an Abu dabi, it's already evening there, so he'll
get a nap in for our show or full sleep.
I don't know how that'll work. We'll keep an eye
on that, but good debate. I could have done that
for a lot longer. But hey, let's keep the phone
lines open for everyone who's trying to call into the show. Here,
appreciate it. We got five hundred people in the room.
Like the video hit subscribed. There'll be some of that
(43:22):
later this evening. My pop's supposed to be joining around
nine to thirty, so that's what thirteen ish hours away.
The countdown continues, all right, up next easy in the phonelunch,
it's up easy.
Speaker 5 (43:35):
Hey, how you doing?
Speaker 7 (43:35):
Man?
Speaker 1 (43:36):
Hey great, it's draft day, baby.
Speaker 7 (43:40):
Make sure as hell is.
Speaker 8 (43:42):
And you know my formula is, if you can't get
this guy, who's the next guy. And if the next
guy is like not one B, but he's like shitty,
you don't go for it.
Speaker 7 (43:57):
So it all depends on uh.
Speaker 8 (44:00):
Like you said, Mason Graham does not really A is
a one A, but there's not really a one B
when it comes to that position.
Speaker 7 (44:07):
So there you grab him. As far as with Tyler Warren,
I like Tyler Warren.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
I'd like to see him as a JET, but there
are some other.
Speaker 7 (44:19):
Tight ends that might fill the gap adequately with A.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
With A with a modest trade back, you know, especially
with tight end room, there's a lot of things that
would be an upgrade. There would be a lot of things.
Speaker 8 (44:33):
And the other thing is, I want to clarify the lingo.
Trading up is moving up a sooner pick. Trading back
is trading back a later pick. People always mix that up.
It pisses me off. So if we trade back in
the first round to get the other guy's first round
pick and some more draft capital, my question to you
(44:56):
is would you want that draft capital as a better pick.
Speaker 14 (44:59):
Now next year or an extra pick this year? Like
would you rather have next year second round pick? Well,
this year's third their their third round pick this year?
Speaker 1 (45:12):
Next year second one hundred percent next year.
Speaker 8 (45:16):
Secon Yeah, because right because of that quarterback class that's
coming out next year in fields doesn't quite work out.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
Optionality, Yeah, it's insurance, insurance.
Speaker 7 (45:30):
Yeah, we gotta you know, you know, it's it's pick
and choose.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
What do you do? But yeah, my favorite trade back
scenario is seven to nine. The New Orleans at nine,
Carolina's at eight, Jets are at seven. You do a
mini trade back because New Orleans wants something. You get
a third and then you're you're or to your point,
you get a future second, whatever the combination ends up being.
That's my favorite trade back, where you get all the
(45:54):
same players at seven that you could have gotten at nine.
I like that. No, go ahead, give us the food.
Speaker 7 (45:59):
Who does New Orleans want?
Speaker 1 (46:02):
They're a conversation that they want to move up for
a quarterback. So whoever the second quarterback is, if that
quarterback hasn't been taken yet.
Speaker 7 (46:10):
Well that would be kind of perfect if they want
a quarterback they don't have at it.
Speaker 8 (46:14):
Yeah, because I don't think we we should we should
draft a quarterback this year. I think we have a
solid room because we've got justin fields, we got Tyron Taylor.
Speaker 7 (46:24):
Uh and we have.
Speaker 8 (46:27):
Martinez, Adrian Martinez as as the emergency backup, you know, third.
Speaker 7 (46:32):
Stringer, and let's let's let's come on.
Speaker 12 (46:34):
The guy was good in the UFL.
Speaker 7 (46:36):
I mean, I know it's not this league, but the guy,
I mean, he was the what was it, the m
v p mm hmm. So he was the best of
the next tier down. But we're not looking for him
to start. We're looking at him as an emergency backup.
Speaker 8 (46:50):
So maybe we get a ham and Egger, or we
get someone in free agency or or through uh uh
not free agency.
Speaker 7 (46:57):
Well yeah, maybe free agency because and and maybe you waiver.
That's what I'm mean. Yeah, right, sure for the quarterback.
Speaker 8 (47:07):
So I really think we're okay this year for quarterback.
Speaker 7 (47:11):
I don't know what else to do.
Speaker 8 (47:13):
I think just concentrate on O line and D line
and safety and then that I think squares us up.
Speaker 1 (47:20):
What do you think? Yeah? I agree, And thanks for
the call. Easy. Yeah, I'll say this, Like, for instance,
Rizumini had a column that just came out this morning
and talking about quarterback and said that he does not
expect the Jet to take a quarterback in the first
round in any machination seven, trade back, trade up, anything
like that. But he said all his words were quote,
all bets are off after the first round, And I
(47:42):
would say this. I had a private conversation with Jared
b our moderator. I'm pretty sure he's private. I think
it was a DM. And in our conversation, I said,
I think two things are true for me. Two things
are true. One, here are the quarterbacks that sort of
intrigue me as a Jets fan, in no particular order,
(48:04):
Shader Sanders, Jalen Milroe, Kyle McCord. Those sort of intrigued me.
And if the Jets somehow, in whatever world took one
of those guys, I'm like, I'm interested now. I'm also
completely okay with the Jets avoiding quarterback completely and not
taking anything. This you're in, you're just building around Justin
(48:24):
Fields and let's go and just say, hey, man, we
don't need a quarterback. We got we got ty ryb,
we got Justin Fields and Jordan Travis Stance. Pour one
out for yourselves and we have that and let's figure
it out. We're good. So I'm fine if they don't
go quarterback at all. Hey, we've got plenty of needs.
I'm fine, if they believe one of the guys they
take a quarterback, that'd be fun. I'm all about it.
(48:46):
So we could get more into perhaps some of the
quarterback conversation in a little bit. All right, back to
the phone lines here. Up next, we've got Indie Jets.
What's up Indy?
Speaker 10 (48:56):
Good morning, Good morning BG.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
This I'm with Pops on this one.
Speaker 10 (49:02):
You you know this, this whole hype of Tyler Warren
has just gotten out of hand, and it all stems
from the overrated brock Maers numbers. You look at brock
mowers and oh he caught one hundred and twenty and
because they had nobody else, that was all they had.
(49:23):
I mean, so his numbers are such over and such
inflated that so let me ask you this, sure typically
a tight end, even if we had a good tight end,
he's probably gonna get sixty catches, maybe seventy if it's
a really good year, and what six hundred maybe seven
(49:45):
hundred yards on a.
Speaker 7 (49:48):
Good New York Jets tight end.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
Right, So this is where I sort of have the
target list. Obviously, Garrett Wilson's number one, and then the
debate for two and three is if the Jets. To
your point, take a Tyler Warren or whoever that top
pass catcher is. It's a wide receiver to tighten whatever
or Breefe Hall. That's kind of how I in my
mind right now on April twenty fourth see the top
three in targets be because I think Breece is going
(50:10):
to be used a lot out of the back of
the vistill on the team. So that's how I have it.
So to your point, right, the sixty seventy catches for
six seven hundred some odd yards and four to six
touchdowns something, Yeah, that sounds right, which you could you.
Speaker 10 (50:24):
Could easily get five six hundred yards out of a
gunner out of a Gunner Helm I.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
Think is Man Helms of Texas kid. Correct.
Speaker 10 (50:33):
Okay, now that you're getting a little bit less production,
but he is probably the best blocking tight end in
in the in the entire draft, which would probably help
brief this number, which would help not only just for
RCT sure right, the level of the different areas that
he will help in I think would exceed the two
(50:54):
hundred yards that you might get out of a out
of a you know, Tyler Warren, and so I think
you know, I I would if Graham there, Graham's the pig.
I think you want to take Graham. You know, even
though I don't know if our defense needs as much
help that, we don't need that blue chip. You you know,
our coach has already proven he can take a second
(51:16):
or third string and make him play like starters. So
you know, what can Aaron Glenn do with this defense
just the way it is? You know, does he need
a blue chip on there? Probably not. And we're in
the defense. Defensive line is a pretty stacked draft, so
you it's pretty deep. So he could take a third
round Kenneth Walker I think, you know, or even a
(51:40):
Grant in the second round and make them play like
a first rounder. So he doesn't need that, you know,
I don't know. It's it's that the the bad thing
about having so many holes is that we can we
can pick a blue chip player from just about anywhere
and and and make a need that that's a terrible,
(52:02):
terrible thing. I hope that next year that we're sitting
here looking towards the end of the draft and go,
you know what, we're not going to be picking till
ten thirty eleven o'clock at night, right and you know
that's but anyway, hopefully I'll call in tonight.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Yeah, oh yeah, right, yes, please do get ready to.
Speaker 10 (52:21):
Get in here in a little bit and I'll be
headed into New York and then we'll call in and
and you know, we can all cry and boo or
yell and scream, whichever way it is.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Well, probably need a little bit of everything, Indy Jets,
I appreciate the call. The only pushback I would give.
And this is a name I don't think a lot
of people talk about on Gunner help be the best
blocking tight end of this class. I think actually it's
Jackson Hawes. He's a six foot five uter and fifty
three pound tight end from Georgia Tech. He's an older prospect,
he's twenty four years of age in line tight end.
I think he's the best blocking tight end in this class.
(52:54):
Dame Brugler grades him as a fifth or six round pick,
so you could have him late. I don't know how
Tanner Angstrand is looking at his tight ends, but boy,
if you are just a blocker, just a dude, I've
gotten Jackson Hawes. That's that's the tight end I like
personally from a blocking perspective. He's a big boy. But yeah,
(53:15):
gunner Helm again. We run through the names all the time.
Gunner Helm out of Texas, Terrence Ferguson out of Oregon,
my boy Rodny Gatz and here out of Syracuse, Harold
Fannin Junior, my dad's boy, bowling green Well will that'd
be the greatest reaction. My dad will call in immediately
if Harold Fannon Junior gets taken on day two or
day three by the Jets. But like, there's just a
Bill Mason tailor. There's like a kajillion tight ends that
(53:37):
are all interesting. I just don't think they're Tyler Warren,
but you could sell me on getting one of those
other guys. Let's get another super chat coming in here,
this one from Dick Chimney's Burner. We don't know how
Tanner Angstrand values a dynamic tight end. I like Warren,
but if he doesn't, then that's all that matters. Unfortunately
we don't know what he likes. Good point, Dick chimneys Burner,
(53:59):
thanking for the super chat coming in here. I'll put
that through on our list. We'll add up all this
stuff later again, because the thing that is up for grabs,
right now is the replacement b MAC emoji, So keep
those conversations coming again. And then on the live show tonight,
all the superchats and memberships will go towards our two
homage giveaways. It'll be a raffle, so anyone that gives
(54:21):
or sends it in superchats will have an opportunity. Those
will be two ninety nine, just like normal coming through.
That is the mystery that we don't know how they
value positions. I brought this up to Lindsay Rhoades yesterday
on the show that when the Jets hired Robert Sala,
I immediately reached out to as many forty nine ers
people as I could to try to understand what Sola's thinking.
(54:43):
What schematics and draft philosophies is he taking from San
Francisco that he believes in, Like would he take a
corner high how does he feel about running backs? And
the first two things my forty nine ers people told
me It wasn't just one person, who's multiple people over there.
They said, he ain't taking a corner highs and don't
worry about that. They don't value it like that, and
they're not taking a running back. In the first three
(55:03):
rounds don't. They're not going to value that, and I
would okay, and then boom Sasgardner was. Roberts was very
first pick, fourth overall, and then Bristol they traded up
for at thirty fifth overall, took him in the second round.
So you never know. Long story short, so we don't know.
But hey, if they take Tyler warn't, obviously, I wo'd
be a very hot man. If they don't, okay, like
(55:25):
they'll go in some other direction. Hopefully I believe whatever
they do. But appreciate the super chat pal. Thank you.
All Right, more phone calls nyjetsfl Ted here on the program.
It's up Ted.
Speaker 12 (55:36):
Oh hey, good morning, thanks for getting thanks, thanks for
getting back to me. Sure, I would say I would
say at seven, and I go back to what Iroon
Glenn said at this press conference with being more explosive
and what rich Demani said about m the fact that
Kelvin Bangs can be a good right tackle. You don't
(55:59):
take a good pential right tackle at seven. I'd say,
if Will Campbell is there, you take him somehow, and
if not, I would uh and and I would seriously
consider Ashton Gent if he was there. I know no
one loves you know, yeah not. I would trade down
(56:19):
possibly a few spots and take an explosive player like
a Mecca Buca. That's the ride I would go.
Speaker 7 (56:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (56:25):
If Will Campbell happens to slide a little because of
his so called short arms, that's I mean, it's incredible.
I'm gonna say value. But I think it's kind of
a no brainer. If he slips to seven that you
you have to absolutely grab him. And and he is
such a I don't care what long his arms are.
He's so productive, and he's an incredible run blocker, and
(56:48):
he's got a nasty streak to him. So i'd say, So,
those are my scenarios. I know it's not one, but
I would say, Will Campbell at seven if he's there,
be incredibly difficult. If he is not there to figure
out where to go if we have to pick, I
don't know. I couldn't say, but that would be.
Speaker 1 (57:07):
Much so one more time, just run through. So Will
Campbell got you there? Gent you'd love Mecha Buka? Trade back?
What else was on your list?
Speaker 12 (57:15):
That's it?
Speaker 1 (57:17):
I think that's it.
Speaker 12 (57:17):
I mean, I have in love with Kenneth Graham, but
I don't know how they value him. I don't think
they could take him as I don't think they could
take him at seven. I think that they could take
him at twelve. I don't hear a lot of buzz
about him, but you know, there are a lot of
shocks in the first round. There are quite a few
players you would think, Hey, you know, no one really
said much about this guy, but yet he's a top
(57:39):
twelve or fifteen pick. Right, he didn't get the buzz, right, Hey,
I'd go for pizs and wings if I were you
on that one, and just can just you're enjoying your party.
I'll be listening to Paul, but I'll be at a
private party.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
Let's just say that, oh baby, Okay, Well, we'll appreciate
the silent watching.
Speaker 12 (57:59):
Thanks tediate you unlike Alan though he's got like the
super hook up, not quite that that much of a hookup.
Speaker 1 (58:06):
But I'll be tuning in. Awesome, thanks, Ted, appreciate it,
appreciated all the calls leading up to the draft. Man,
that's awesome. Right, didn't get the Jerry Jones invite, but
hey now and j Boy concurs the pizza and wings
all day and draft day again, We'll have to see.
I'll have to have like I'll have to be prepared,
like cleaning is sandy wipes or whatever, because obviously doing
a lot of highlighting your comments and taking calls and
(58:28):
things that nature, obviously I won't be a challenge down
wings on Jerko contrees on the show. But you know,
uh yeah, okay, so pizza wings, all right, a lot
of votes for that. All right, we'll work on that. Uh,
let's get we got more phone calls plus a super
chat coming in from a boy, easy baby, alrighty by
the way, easy with that, uh super chat. With your
(58:52):
prior combinations, you just picked up yourself a couple more
raffle tickets. Uh, you were always one injury away from
a luxury pick turning into a necessity pick. I know
a lot of people Joe Douglas's guts and fair enough,
but I loved that quote from Joe Douglas because people
would question, like, hey man, why a pass rusher here?
Why are this? And he just says exactly what you
(59:12):
just said, easy, You're one injury away from a luxury
pick turning into a necessity pick. And that is true.
That is true. And I think, and I say this
all the time. I've said this for months, I'll repeat it.
One of the biggest misconceptions about the draft is what
are they drafting at seven Now? In our particular case,
they have like a thousand needs. But normally it's not
(59:33):
the need of today, it's the need of tomorrow. Which again,
if they're thinking that way right, think about players that
are set to be free agents off ball. Linebacker again,
Maybe they go Jaylen Walker. They'd be crazy. Maybe they
go tackle that could play guard again because your two
guards are free agents. The point is is that teams
don't always say, oh, man, I need to right tackle.
I draft best right tackle. Sometimes they go BPA and say, hey,
(59:57):
this is gonna happen with this domino, with this Domino
this time. I just think that's the misconception of people
forget about all the time when we're talking draft. I
think sometimes that's the that's the part that slips through.
But easy. Thanks for the super chat, brother. All right,
a lot of phone calls here. Up next, We've got
a dirty here.
Speaker 7 (01:00:14):
On the show. It's up out boy Agreen with up baby.
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
Sweet the feather earrings back? Nice? Hey, all right, bringing
it back. What's what's going on? Dirty what's popping baby
draftingg Yeah, not.
Speaker 7 (01:00:27):
Too much, but just you know, as you can see
in the mail room doing what I do best.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Sure, had a had a nice show yesterday.
Speaker 15 (01:00:36):
And I want to be uh, I want to ask
before I do this, Can I can I give a
shout out to my podcast?
Speaker 11 (01:00:41):
Is that?
Speaker 12 (01:00:41):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
Give you a shout out to a body and you
don't have to ask. Of course, promote shameless self promotion.
Let me just say this, if you're not willing to
promote yourself, who the hell is going to be? You
got to be your own biggest advocate baby, So yes,
scream it. So so it's called top dog coverage.
Speaker 11 (01:00:57):
Uh.
Speaker 15 (01:00:58):
Where Instagram toick, YouTube, everything is top dog coverage at DAWG.
And yesterday we had our episode, our last mock draft.
And during the mock draft, people that were doing the
mock draft with me were getting a lot of a
lot of emails, a lot of tips of what may
or may not happen, a lot of people that have
been twenty five years in the league.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
So but I will say this, Hey, by the way,
I just followed you on top dog coverage on Instagram
and you're followed by Phil Savage. Whoa nice Okay, yeah,
let me tell you is he's a great man. That
is a great man, right there.
Speaker 7 (01:01:38):
That's cool?
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
Okay, Yeah, sorry to interrupt, And I just wanted to
jump in on the follow train on top dog coverage
A top dog coverage, guys, make sure you hit that
up on Instagram. I just hit the follow button there. Yeah, baby, Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:01:51):
He's a gentleman and a scholar.
Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
That guy Phil said's cool. He seems like a good man.
I'm glad he's sticking around. So I'm glad they were
able to work that out. That doesn't always happen when
new regimes over. So I'm happy for Phil.
Speaker 7 (01:02:02):
Yeah, yeah, so am I.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
So this is the thing. I can lean on both
sides of it.
Speaker 14 (01:02:07):
And I don't want to.
Speaker 15 (01:02:07):
Play Devil's advocate because everybody, everybody wants the answer.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Everybody wants the chaos, the drama, right And that's okay,
it's just on the half.
Speaker 15 (01:02:17):
But on the other end, is Tyler Warren a great prospect,
probably a blue chip tight end?
Speaker 11 (01:02:22):
Yeah he is?
Speaker 7 (01:02:23):
You know what I mean, I'm not knocking out if
we get him, I'll be happy as hell, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 12 (01:02:26):
I'm not gonna do that.
Speaker 15 (01:02:28):
I like this little fire all line too.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Yeah cool.
Speaker 15 (01:02:30):
You know, it just so happens that we need a
right tackle and that right tackle is right there, you
know what I mean, No pun intended. It would be
cool to have five great blockers for once, even though
you only need three four Okay, But also I mean
logically thinking you know, where was Kelsey drafted?
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Where was Kittle drafted?
Speaker 7 (01:02:49):
Where was Mark Andrews drafted?
Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
Rounds? Yeah, yeah, I mean, and it goes.
Speaker 7 (01:02:54):
Into depth here, you know what I mean.
Speaker 15 (01:02:55):
If we have a great coach and we know what
we're doing, you know what I mean, and the culture
is sort of changing, and the stars are kind of aligning. Like,
let's not forget our offensive line line coach was the
tight ends coach for the Lions, you know what I mean.
So I think whatever tight end we bring in is
going to learn how to block from the offensive line
coach as well, you know what I mean. So I
(01:03:15):
really do believe whoever we get at the tight end spot,
I think they're going to be solidified. But I won't
be mad either way. But I will say this, Yes,
if Mason Graham falls, that's a blue chip guy. You
can't pass on him.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Okay, there you go, dirty love it brother, and a
good shout out to the show to feel free to
do that every time I get. I am very intrigued
by Mason Graham falling into our laps, and maybe that
happens if Jacksonville gets froggy and I get what people
are saying on the tight end thing. It's true. Travis
Kelce third round pick, Mark Andrews fourth round pick. I
(01:03:49):
loved him that year coming out of Oklahoma. Who else
am I missing? George Kittle was a fourth fifth round pick,
whatever he was. But like you could find guys, it's
one hundred percent possible. So hey know, just real quick.
I saw this from NC Greeny says the gentle pick
around eight fifty to nine PM. I think that's a
little rich. I think it's gonna be a little bit
(01:04:11):
later if I'm being honest, because there's ten minutes per pick.
The draft starts, and I'm putting that in quotations for
our audio only listeners at AID, there's a lot of hoopla.
Roger Goodell comes out, he gets booed vehemently, and then
he's gonna bring on some packers. Legends to try to
get cheers, and then the draft officially started, so I
think there's gonna be some hoopla, and then there's ten
(01:04:32):
minutes per pick, and the NFL does not want the Titans,
despite the fact they already know they're taking care more.
They want them to juice the ten minutes. They don't
want them to rush through it. So, long story short,
I think it's closer to nine twenty nine to thirty
if I was to guess and see green based on
the television, I think we'll be nine to twenty nine thirty.
But we'll see what happens. Like I said, we'll have
a lot of guests between all of those things, which
(01:04:54):
will be good too. Yeah, Lucas says, probably draft starts
at eight twenty eight three. I don't know if it's
that late, but again it's it's won't be right at
eight o'clock, so I think that's gonna factor it as well.
All right, let's go back to the phone lunch twenty
people waiting a Johnny boy next on the show. What's up?
Speaker 7 (01:05:08):
Johnny?
Speaker 11 (01:05:08):
Hey?
Speaker 13 (01:05:09):
What up?
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Be?
Speaker 5 (01:05:09):
How you holding up?
Speaker 4 (01:05:10):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
Hey? It's flipping Draft day? Baby?
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
Yeah, no, man, it's Joe Hendry or buzz bro. If
I'm being honest with.
Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
You, Oh my gosh, wait, let's get that up. I knew,
I knew, I forgot something earlier. There is Johnny Boy.
Let's go uh Johnny Boy member for eight months. Let's
draft Joe Hendry, you know, because I believe I was
gonna do the whole turnaround thing and go boom. That
was so cool on WrestleMania. You know, shitty things happen
(01:05:40):
and Kevin Owens gets hurt and you're like a geez,
what do you do? And obviously they had Russev floating
around as an option. I think Joe Hendry is the
right pluck for that moment. Wrestleming is a really cool moment,
and I don't even know what they would have done
with Rusev and Randy Orton. Anyway, Joe Hendrick gets his
cool moment in the sun, Randy Orton gets WrestleMania number twenty,
and I think it works out for everybody, and it's
lighthearted moment in the craziness of WrestleMania. I dug Joe Hendry.
Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
Yeah, I think it was.
Speaker 16 (01:06:07):
That damn song is catchy as anything, and the Chad
don't know what we're talking about.
Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
Yeah, google it, YouTube it, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
It's a must. But hey, this draft ded today.
Speaker 16 (01:06:21):
If I'm being very honest, man, I really believe that
we're going to trade back. I think one of the
pieces that's not really being talked about a lot is Spielman.
Speaker 5 (01:06:31):
Spielman's in that.
Speaker 16 (01:06:33):
Building with him and he's to be able to go
ahead and have double digit picks.
Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
And I think we're only like two away from that.
But I'm not on the Tyler Warren train. I think
you've known that.
Speaker 16 (01:06:53):
Just up the simple fact, like you couldn't even out
beat Del Johnson. You know, you have one year of
work from them. But and there's other guys that are
out there, so I don't know. At the end of
the day, man, I have to say that it's draft day.
I'm excited whoever is gonna put on that green and
white today, I'm gonna root for them no matter what.
Speaker 5 (01:07:14):
And it is what it is because I'm a Jet
fan at the end of the day, and that's what
we're here for.
Speaker 12 (01:07:19):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
So it's j Ets, just Jess Jets.
Speaker 16 (01:07:23):
Make sure you guys catch BG tonight on his draft spectacular.
Speaker 13 (01:07:29):
Yes and whatnot.
Speaker 5 (01:07:30):
You know what I mean so, but I appreciate you.
Speaker 7 (01:07:33):
I love that hat.
Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
I think I ordered my hat too late because it's
still not in the mail.
Speaker 16 (01:07:38):
Ah that that hat needs to get some love because
a lot of people do not like that Draft hat,
and I think the cooler ones so.
Speaker 1 (01:07:47):
But thanks Johnny, Yeah, shout out, yeah, appreciate Yeah. This
is the official Draft head folks, just to show the
people on YouTube, get this nice little floral. I don't
know quite what it is. I'm not that fancy. Whatever's
floral design is to get the jets. I like it
with this logo on it. To me again, I'm an
old man now. I used to be cool back in
the day with the flat brims and all that. I'm
(01:08:08):
too old for all that. I don't be liking any
of that. I like the flex fit personally, that's my favorite.
Had a choice. Nice hug on the hat backfit. Very nice.
And shout out to J Boy who won our Draft contest.
He got the hat and Draft d a DVD yesterday.
Thank god it got in, Jboy, I'm so happy glad
it got in in time. So hopefully you get to
(01:08:29):
check out the movie Draft Day. I'll be watching it.
Like I said, I got Boy Green Dilly right now,
I got radio show. Immediately after the show run back Home.
It's like an hour back home fit in draft day
and then Boy Green beats Woody. So hopefully I'll be
able to squeeze.
Speaker 3 (01:08:42):
All that in.
Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
That'd be great. But thank you very much. One last
just message I saw earlier. I just wanted to get to.
Phil says earlier. Could you imagine we traded up for
Travis Hunter? Oh boy? Now, normally you don't see these
kind of trade ups, especially if you have a need
or perceive weakness at quarterback. That would be what you're
moving up for, so that it's it's not typical. But
Travis Hunter is a show heyo Tani prospect. If that
(01:09:04):
was possible that I would lose my bleep. If they
did that, that'd be so cool. He could be the
guy next to Garrett Wilson and we wouldn't really need
him at corner initially, but maybe situationally you could. Oh,
that'd be awesome. I don't know how realistic that is,
but Phil, I like the cut of your jip bell
for sure. Back to the phone line, you get the
legend himself Southern jet Richer on the show what's up, pal?
Speaker 7 (01:09:26):
Hey, Yeah, it's amazing how age muddles out, isn't.
Speaker 13 (01:09:30):
It, Paul?
Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
It isn't that funny? Huh?
Speaker 7 (01:09:35):
Especially those two am cries in the morning.
Speaker 1 (01:09:39):
Yeah, that's it. Yep, I've done a few of those.
Speaker 7 (01:09:41):
Yeah, and then the mortgage bill.
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:09:43):
But I think by the way, those floorretts on the
front are they have a chip in him on the hat.
And so after the draft, you're gonna get a knock
on the door and you're gonna be in a militia.
Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
That'd be amazing. That's cool. You had to read that
on the fine print.
Speaker 7 (01:10:02):
Yeah, you're halfway there with the beard, right, remember that,
Woody Allen?
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 7 (01:10:14):
The draft is in my belief, and I've been sitting
here at a fifty thousand foot view for now for
a month and a half. I think it is all
centered the smoke, you know, the membo, the you know,
the guy from Dubas. I think it's all centered around Genty.
I think he's the lynch pin that's making you hear
(01:10:36):
all these stories because if you you know, I've always
believed that what you hear early I'm talking a couple
of months ago is usually what ends up happening. What
you hear in between is the smoke. And because early
it's the Scouts, it's you know, you know, you're hearing
some real stuff. And genty has always been linked to
(01:10:58):
the Cowboy, the Raiders and the Broncos. And you know,
he was originally Broncos and he moved up the board
and he started getting the hype and all that, and
that's when Hampton came in as being, Oh, Hampton's going
to go to the Broncos. So I think the running
backs is where we're getting a lot of this. We're
gonna see some shuffling and maybe the Jets will be
(01:11:20):
involved in it. Also with because now's the time to
move Breese and and you you made a statement a
minute ago about you know, the draft is about looking
to the future sometimes too, it's not just about you know,
right now. And if we're looking to the future, we're
looking at breests Hall probably leaving.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
Richard on the Hampton train, aren't you two three thousand
rushing yards over the last two years.
Speaker 7 (01:11:45):
Well I would like that, but I'm I'm I don't
you know, I don't know this new regime. Remember you know,
they had Gibbs and Montgomery in Detroit. They might want
to do genty you know, I don't know. Uh, it
looks like GENTI has a chance to fall into us
if what you just said is true about the Raiders. Yeah,
(01:12:08):
and if you got gent falling to you. And you
know that Breese Hall is you know, not mister jet.
He's made a lot of you know, you know, I'm
not saying he's a bad guy, but he's just not
raw rah, you know, And he's gonna he's definitely gonna
test free agency. Let's let's be clear about Yeah. And
(01:12:29):
I think he's the type of guy if we tagged
them he'd hold out. So I'm wondering, you know, if
if if, if it all revolves around that. But the
other thing I was going to say about as far
as best athlete, and I mean, uh yeah, best athlete
(01:12:50):
member Bill Parcells with the Giants, heydays sure raft and
he had four they played a three four and you know,
he kept drafting linebackers even though they already had two
Wall Pros. Then he had three All pros and he
drafted another linebacker and people are going, what are you doing?
(01:13:11):
He goes, You never know what's gonna happen. You know,
you never know injuries, he goes. The strength of our
team on the three flour is that that section of
the field. And they won Super Bowl, isn't they? I mean,
you know, you know. And although I'll go to my
grave arguing that Lawrence Taylor doesn't belong in the Hall
of Fame as a linebacker, Lawrence Taylor played a stand
(01:13:36):
up defensive end. He virtually every play was on the
line of scrimmage on the off side of where the
tight end was. The tight end was on the other side,
Taylor moved to the weak side, and he stood up
on the line of scrimmage virtually every play. You know,
he was you know, in my opinion, you know, and
(01:13:57):
that was a smart way to use him, you know, sure,
but but he was. I mean, how many times do
you remember Lawrence Taylor dropping way back and coverage and
coverage not often? Right, exactly. And And so I just
think my point to you was, I liked a lot
of your takes, and I think it's the running backs
that's causing the smoke. It's not the offensive lineman. And
(01:14:20):
and based on what you and your dad with your
mock the other day, and what I had said, I
had also been a m accord fan. I'd like you
to to go and watch uh Gruden's.
Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Oh yeah, his QB Camp on the board. Oh yeah, yeah,
great show.
Speaker 7 (01:14:38):
Wasn't that when you looked at McCord's show with Gruden
and you said, this is this is No one's going
to be the next Tom Brady, but this is as
close as you're going to get to another Brady.
Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
Yeah again, watch. I highly recommend it. It's his new
version of doing it by himself. He used to do
the QB Grinders, and this is his own QB Camp
version with Barstool Sports and on his YouTube channel and
stuff like that. One hundred I love it. So yeah,
I've always met a common Cord fan anyway, but that
come on that took me to another level.
Speaker 7 (01:15:08):
Are you upstate?
Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
Yes? Yeah, I'm a forty five minutes outside of Syracuse.
I do my radio show in Syracuse. So I got
to cover Comma Cord this past year.
Speaker 7 (01:15:16):
So you know the you know the Chick fil A
that's outside Syracuse. I do, I do, Yes, that's owned
by the guy in the wheelchair.
Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Yes, Jimer correct, Yeah, I worked for Jimmer.
Speaker 7 (01:15:28):
What Jimmer was my boss? And IBM and Raleigh.
Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
What the hell I knew about Well, I knew about
his IBM background because when Jimmer first came up here
and was thinking about taking over and being the guy,
we met up. But we met up and he just
poured his guts out about his background, and I did
as well. What a small world, rich that's great.
Speaker 7 (01:15:48):
Yeah, if you see him, say hello, you know we'll
do rich Berger, you know, Okay? And uh, you know, yeah,
I worked for Jimmer for years. He was my boss
and met him every you know, every week we had
a staff meeting, and uh he was We used to
bust each other's chops because he was Bill's fan. I
was a Jets fan and and I was the Bill's
(01:16:10):
original ball boy, so you know, he like he liked
me for that when I was a little kid. And
by the way, I grew up in I grew up
in Hamburg outside of Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (01:16:20):
Is your how do you spell your last name? B
E R G E R Yeah, okay, because obviously with
what unfortunately Jimmer has been battling with, it's I never
miss if I could catch him live in person, but
I'll definitely text him because I'd be awesome. I bet
that's going to get a good smile out of him.
Speaker 7 (01:16:36):
So he's a wonderful man. And when I went through
some really bad things with my daughters, husband died a
year into their marriage, Arch and she was they had
just found out a month before she was pregnant and
all that stuff. So yeah, and so jim Er you know,
(01:16:59):
would take aside, you know, you know, every couple of
days and bring me in his office and we would talk.
And he's a wonderful man. He's a wonderful man.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
So uh yeah, I'll definitely be reaching out man. Small World.
That's so crazy that this we just had this connection.
Rich That's uh, that's amazing. Why. I hope you enjoyed
draft day, buddy. Thanks for calling in as.
Speaker 7 (01:17:19):
Always you do, and say hello to your dad for me.
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
All right, we'll do. Yeah, he'll be on the show tonight.
There you go, Small World, Baby, Let's get one more
call in. We got six hundred people in the room
like the video. Hit subscribe, baby, I gotta desperately run
off to the radio station. Let's get MJ here on
the show.
Speaker 13 (01:17:34):
What's up, m J Hey, Happy Draft Day? Speaking of
being I worked for Abby in Phoenix for about six
years flying.
Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
Dude, we're gonna have to have like a We're gonna
have to have like a meeting or something. Get everyone
back for God's sake. That's hilarious.
Speaker 13 (01:17:53):
But this is the point I had about Aaron gwn
And and people need to think about this, is that
when he was the coordinator for Detroit, when when Aiden
Hutchinson went down, his defense completely changed. So he really
sees the benefit of a pass rusher and how it
affects the defense. And that's why people are thinking that
(01:18:14):
he might go for an elite pass rusher like Michael
Williams or Jalen Walker, Shamar Stewart because he's and then
you also look at what happened with the Cowboys when
they when Michael Parsons came back, they were completely different defense.
They were they were atrocious when he was gone, and
(01:18:35):
when he comes back, they were complete. I mean, just
the pass rush makes a whole new dimension, completely changes
the defense. And you got to remember this in the
draft that like the quarterbackack position, the receiver position, and
the tackle does not even compare to last year. If
(01:18:55):
you take the qb from for this year compared to
last year, the qbs would be four or five. Last
year backles it would be about the same. And then
but there's a plethora of running backs and pass rushers,
so and also there's an abundance of really good players.
Now there's not the out the outstanding blue Chippers like
(01:19:17):
last year, but all teams should be feel really good
because the first three four rounds there's going to be
some some really good starters because there's a lot of
the there's a really good abundance of players. And really
it's obviously what you think is best for your team
and how it's it's it suits your you know your need.
I mean, sometimes you don't want to draft or need.
(01:19:39):
Sometimes you want to draft the best player. But then
in the case of the Jets, you know, taking a
corner a cornerback just doesn't seem to be right when
you've got who they signed a free agency and you've
got Gardner for if they take Jade Barron, that's going
to be like, oh that that that might be the
the nightmare. If if they take that, if they take
(01:20:00):
anyone else, if they take a pass rusher, I think
it'll be okay. If they take Mason Graham, I think
that'd be outstanding. If he falls to them and they
take them. So there's so many and they could trade
down too, as long as they and as long as
they know they're getting in players. So yes, I think
that it's hopefully they don't do the They just don't
(01:20:23):
need to do the one thing that's really gonna f them.
And I think that could. I mean, I mean, he
could be a great player, sure, but it's just you
have you have to look at your current situation and
what the Jets need right now.
Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
I think that's the key. I think that's the key.
Speaker 7 (01:20:38):
MJ.
Speaker 1 (01:20:38):
Thanks for the call, brother, and thanks for everyone for
tuning into the show. I'll highlight this last comment here.
It's not from Filium. Uh, let's show it up. Fl
Field ninety eight Brisaws playing for a contract here or elsewhere.
If he's ever going to be great, it's this year
and we can't get value for him in to trade
a trade. Run haul ragged. In other words, pre saws
(01:20:59):
in the contract. If you go to trade him and
getting like a third or fourth round pick, what do
you do with that? Come on, man, that's not good enough.
So he's dirt cheap for this year. Run the run
and receive the receiving bleep out of him. Make him this,
you know, give him as many touches as humanly possible,
and either let him go at the end of the
year and let him hit free and c. Or if
(01:21:20):
he's really good, then you can consider franchise tagging him
for a reasonable amount and go. Okay, not too shabby,
so a lot of possibilities there, not too shabby, not
too bad there. From fl film ninety eight. That certainly
makes a lot of sense. Hey, now we got a
YouTube super chat coming in here at the Buzzer. Appreciate it.
Let's roll. Thank you to John here. He says, I'd
(01:21:44):
rather draft leveland over ward. If you're going to draft
a tight in the first round, let alone top ten.
He's gonna have to be a dynamic playmaker, which makes
a lot of sense. Hey, I wrote about this at
some point this week. I don't know. Everything's sort of
blurring together here, John that the gap between Warren and Love,
according to some people, is not as big I believe.
On the last Daniel Jeremiah big board that came out
(01:22:06):
this week, Tyler Warren's number six overall of any position
on his big board, six best players in this class
Loveland's number seven. So I've asked a few draft people
this question of the Hey, who's a player that could
surprise at his position that is pick first? Right? So like,
for instance, everyone thinks Ashton Jensy's gonna be the first
(01:22:26):
running back off the board. What if a Maren Hampton
is the first running back of the board. We're all like,
whoa right tight end? Everyone thinks it's gonna be Tyler Warren.
What if it's Colston Loveland? What if someone just goes
Colson Loveland kind of stuns the draft world. Johnny might
be on to something that could be. Here's my want.
I'm a Warren Warrior and Tyler Warren no matter what
and all that that's true, I want a tight end,
(01:22:46):
bad man, because there's a chance they don't do what
I say. Obviously, there's endless possibilities. Give me a bleep
a tight end, for God's sakes, Loveland Warren somebody forgot.
I probably even doubled it the tight end quite frankly
in this class. So John Goodwards on Loveland here, he
is a dynamic player, six foot six two, He's a
big boy, and I think the thing for Loveland that's
been incredibly unfair. Johnf We're just going to talk about
(01:23:08):
Loveland real quick. He's been trash as this shitty blocker,
and like Tyler, WARN's great blocker, and I think people
are totally underrating the blocking of Loveland. He's not some schmo.
I'm not saying move over. He's basically an offensive lineman.
I'm not saying that. But he can hold his own
in blocking. And if he can hold his own in blocking,
and you, John and others believe that his receiving is
(01:23:29):
so much to a different dynamic level that what are
we talking about here? Maybe that should be more of
a conversation, so part of it as well. I can't wait.
All right, everybody, John, thank you for the super chat
coming in. I'll put that up on our board here
for our contest running this month. Thank you very much,
appreciate it. Thank you kindly. All right, everybody, we've got
