Speaker 1 (00:04):
Folks, it's officially Jets Steelers Week, our final Boy Green
Daily in Vermont before I head back to New York
and preparations begin for the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
We've got season predictions. Nick Ferrier, Jets Peat reporter, joins us.
Boy Green Daily starts now.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm gonna lose my gast guard bananas.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Boy Green Daily start snap joints.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Boy Buggy Day, Buggy Day, Buggy, Let's go.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Put your seatbelts on.

Speaker 5 (00:42):
Get ready for the ride.

Speaker 6 (00:43):
We're the freaking New York Jets.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
We're built for the ship.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Hey, what's going on? Everybody?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
I'm paulishing you. I'm your aka Boy Green. I'm the
New York Jets digital reporter for heavy dot Com. Welcome
to Boy Green Daily, a daily New York Jets video show,
also talking all things excuse me New York Jets football.
Streaming live on my Facebook page at Boy Green two five,
YouTube at Boy Green two five, and Twitter at Boy
Green two five, as well as you can see. My
special guest is here for the final time this week anyway,

(01:23):
well physically in person. He'll be here a little bit
later this week as we talk more Jets dealers. It's
hop On Pop Pop. What's up?

Speaker 5 (01:31):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Now, what's going on? So last night, you see, we're
wearing the shirts from Notre Dame the shirt. Every year
the student body creates and designs the shirt to help
raise money for charity. So we're both wearing the shirts
as we always do. Unfortunately, tough loss last.

Speaker 7 (01:49):
Night for the Irish, very close, very tough new quarterback
get a little sack of whack a little sack exchange
old school style at the end of the game.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
So unfortunately that's what happened. However, the bright spot at
the end of the rainbow is I'll quickly announced that
the Hop On Pop Boy Green Extravaganza travel trip sporting
event this year for the first time ever, both of
us have never been there. We are going to the
holy of holies of college football. We are going to

(02:22):
South Bend watch Notre Dame Syracuse live in November, the
weekend before Thanksgiving. That's the hop On Pop trip for
this year. And for those who.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Don't know, I'll quickly explain and then we'll get into
our season predictions. I know we got a lot going on,
but every year, as a Father's Day give tradition, of
some kind. I know it's not Father's Day, but we
pick normally a sporting event to go to and we
make a weekend out of it and do a whole thing.
Because my father's living all over the world traveling as
this businessman, and I'm doing my stuff in New York,

(02:54):
so we don't get to hang out as much. So
we dedicated that time that we're just going to figure
it out every year to go and do something pretty cool.
So that's gonna be awesome. Can't wait for it. It's
gonna be spectacular. I got to return the favor for
the whole Brett Michael's concert. So hopefully my dad has
root us meeting Rudy's set up or something to try
to equate to the Brett Michaels thing will allow the

(03:15):
gods to play that one out in the near future.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
The random luck that you had that we got to
see Brett Michaels, it wasn't planned out. We are going,
as Rudy's dad says in the Moody movie, Rudy, although
this is not true for me, my eyes have never
seen anything so beautiful. When he watched put his eyes
on the field for the first time on game day.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Well, that's beautiful. So it's gonna be awesome in all
SARTs just for a couple of months, so I can't
wait for that. Plus, obviously, we have our tailgate coming
up in a month and four days, but officially this
is Jet Stealers Week. We'll get into that with Nick
Ferry at eight o'clock he joined us. But we must
move and groove for your Pop because we've got to
finish off our season predictions. I'll recap where we are. Also,

(03:58):
it's September one. We will announce right before Nick Feria
our winner for this month's Raffle, and I'll give you
guys a sneak peek here real quick at the Wheel
of names picker that will determine all of this. So
I'm gonna throw this up on the big screen here
one moment.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
This is the Wheel of Name. We'll return to this,
but this is everyone represented. You see a big, large
slice of that. I would number one ostre and Jet fan.
But as we've determined that just because you spend the
most is not always guarantee it, so we'll come back
to that later. But let's get to football. So Pop,
let's recap real quick. Both of us have been going
week by week through the Jet schedule, predicting where we

(04:39):
think they win or lose, and a couple of statistical
nuggets to go along with it. Here they are real
quick for.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
You, pop.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Week one, you have them beating the Steelers. Week two,
you have them losing to the Bills. Week three, you
have them losing to Tampa Bay. Week four, you have
them beating the Miami Dolphins. Week five, you have them
losing to the Cowboys. Week six, you have them beating
the Broncos in London. Week seven, you have them beating
the Panther we you have them losing to the Bengals.
Week ten, you have them beating the Browns. Week eleven,
you have them winning. Week twelve, you have them losing

(05:08):
to the Ravens. Long story short, you have them at
six and five heading into week thirteen. We'll finish off
that six pack all three you guys. Here for mine,
real quick. Week one, I have the Jets beating the Steelers,
Week two, beating the Bills, week three, losing to Tampa Bay,
week four, beating the Dolphins, Week five, beating the Cowboys obviously,
Week six losing to Denver in London, Week seven winning

(05:29):
wee Gate loss to the Bengals, Week ten win against
the Browns, week eleven beating the Patriots, and week twelve
lose to the Ravens. I have them at seven and four,
so I have them just a game ahead of you
Gear as we headed to the final six pack. So
with that all being said, make sure you guys like
the video and hit subscribe. Let's go to week thirteen.
It's a home game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, I'd just like to share really quick. We're making
this pick on what we view the Jets will be
as we progress. We'll always do our predictions this Saturday
before the game as it's appropriate. Yes, So that being said,
this is the Jets as we know them now. I
have them at six and five up next to the
Atlanta Falcons Nomber first today. Yes, as we're doing this

(06:08):
Atlanta Falcons. This is another example another game again the
Jets only favored to win two right now with Vegas.
I think Michael pennockx Junior Jon Robinson. You know, yeah,
it's French all right, Drake London, and I am telling
you this is the comeback year boy Green gave me
a lot of crap for Kyle Pitts Junior. It is

(06:29):
gonna be good. It is not gonna be good for
the Jets. This is a loss of the Jets. Wow.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
This is one of the strangest teams on the Jets
schedule because you just don't know what they are. We
only saw very small slices of the buy for Michael Pennick.
Drake London is a really good receiver. Kyle Pitts every
year is supposed to be his year. Maybe eventually it
will be. But Jean Robinson is among the best running
backs in all football. So the offense has a lot
of firepower that could be really explosive. And the defense,

(06:56):
they just haven't had a pass rush in a long time,
so that's the part where the sort of a weakness there.
I totally see this as a win for the Jets.
Bringing them to eight and four, you have them as
a lost pop dropping them back to five hundred at
six and six. We're creating some separation here. It appears.
The Jets continue their home stand Week fourteen against Miami Dolphins,

(07:17):
who they played earlier in the season Week four and
Monday Night Football.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeah, Yeah, it's a tough division. This year is going
to be very similar. I think the teams are going
to be closer together. I think Buffalo will still be
a little bit of heavier, but I think it's all
in the mix. I think the Patriots and not as
good as they say they are. I think the Lady
Dath protests too much. The Dolphins are as bad as

(07:41):
they think they are. And I think the Jets fit
nicely right there in the middle. Like Goldie Locks. This
bed is just right. I don't see him sweeping the Dolphins.
I do see this as a loss for the Jets.
They do have one of the best wide receiving corps
that will put the Jets strength to the test.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
I have this as a lost the Jets.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
All right. So now you have them at six and
seven for those counting at home. Again, it's a home
game against the Dolphins. The Jets already played in Miami
in this season. Prediction form Monday Night Football. Yeah, I
think the Jets bought the brooms and beat the Dolphins
with it. Because to his health is in question, which
means Week fourteen might be Zach Wilson time as he
returns to MetLife Stadium as a member of the fish

(08:22):
go back is good, We'll wear that shirt. Who knows
what can happen. I don't predict my wardrobe. I allow
my fashion east O works greatly behind the scenes to
put these outfits together on a day to day basis
to work on that. But no, I think there'll be
some Zach Willson nextion in one of these games. It's
just foretold by the football gods. And when that's the case,

(08:45):
the Jets are going to take full advantage here. So
I imagine that's going to be happening here at week fourteen.
The deeper in the season, I think the Dolphins have
some underrated pieces on defenses, but not in the secondary,
as we talked about a couple of days ago. So
for me, this is a win for the Jets. Take
them to nine and four with the sweep scheme. All right,
let's go to week fifteen, pop. The Jets now have

(09:08):
a road game, and quite frankly, the road game in
three of their final four games a challenge in itself
from that perspective. But week fifteen, they head down to
Jacksonville to play the Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence, a new head coach,
Gleam Cowen yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, So the Jaguars are an interesting team. They have
been for a long time. They got their medium size
on the talent and lighting the loafers on the coaching right,
they are terrible, and so they did add the most
interesting player in the draft, if you will, most interesting
man in the world was added. I think that makes

(09:44):
Travis Hunter. I think Trevor Lawrence is going to show
up and show out, like when he was knocked out
of the game October seventeenth, right against the Syracuse Orange
twenty seventeen, twenty seventeen, October thirteenth, excuse me, October thirteen,
twenty seventeen, knocked out of the game against Syracuse. Trevor
Lawrence is not Goldie Locks from remember the Titans. This

(10:06):
is a win for the Jets.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Wow, Okay, there we go. So back to what would
that be? Six and six, six and seven, back to
five hundred and seven and seven for my pop year
at week fifteen. Yeah, I've think Goldie Locks is overrated.
Everyone talks about the sheenness of that quarterback draft class
where Zach Wilson has been terrible, Trey Lance has bounced around.
Mac Jones is awful. Justin Fields who did not work

(10:30):
out in Chicago, and one goes, Wow, Trevor Lawrence clearly
the best of the group, and I'm like, sure, but
what what's the line?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
So I think Trevor Lunch has.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Been among the most overrated players in the National Football League,
But I think he's been benefited because the rest of
the class sucked. There hasn't been a Lamar Jackson in
his class that said, oh, look at what some of
this will happen, so I appreciate it. I would also
say this Travis Hunter is fascinating. I can't wait to
see it offense defense? Can he do both? At this

(11:00):
point the season, pop, I wonder if it still happens,
because obviously, when you give up the pass as they did,
which is multiple first round picks to move up for
Travis Hunter, they're pushing their tips in the middle of
the table saying they're willing to try this two way
player thing out. Will that still be the case in
week fifteen? I'll be curious. You also have Brian Thomas Junior,
who was terrific last year a Pro Bowl wide receiver.

(11:21):
The running back thing is sort of a mess. Bashall
tooton Travis etn You know, Tank, big Spy. They've got
a couple of interesting names there in the backfield as well.
But this is gonna be a big awa in for
the New York Kits, and that's going to take them
to ten and fourth this point here in week fifteen,
you know, ten and four.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
All right, let's.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Continue the road trip. Let's head down to I don't
think they call this the Superdome anymore. But Week sixteen
at New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, new Week sixteen at New Orleans. Not a good
place to be a quarterback down there, and the Big
easy if you will. I'm not sure they want them anymore,
but I think the Saints are leading the pack in
the Manning Bowl to get Old Arch again. I'm not
sure they want him, but it's maybe it's all in

(12:09):
the family down there, you know what I'm talking about.
Family tree does not fork. But anyways, the Saints are
gonna be the ones that Luckily they spent a little
too much time on Bourbon Street drinking hand grenades. This
is another win for the New York Jets. All right,
you have him at eight and seven. You're on a roll.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yeah, I think New Orleans is destined for the number
one overall pick. Kellen Moore, your former quarterback and coach
there as well here on the front with the New
Orleans Saints. But who's playing quarterback at this point? Spencer
Ratler's starting the season will be Tyler Shuck at this point,
the Louisville product. That to me will be fascinating to

(12:47):
sort of see how that ends up playing out from
that perspective. But yeah, obviously this is another dub for
the New York Jets. So eleven and four for the
New York Jets. We headed to the final two game
of the season for the Jets, and this is the
division rivalry here pop Patriots Bills. First off Week seventeen,
a home game for the Patriots or Jets against the Matriots.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
When are they playing? Previously?

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Where's that that was? Back?

Speaker 1 (13:16):
There was only a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Let me pull it up for the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yeah, I have the Jets schedule pulled up here, so
let's say, just so clear we don't have to guess
what it is. Yeah, there'll be Week eleven at New England.
That's a Thursday night football. Yeah, so thank you for that.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
So, uh, I think there's only gonna be one sweep
It's not gonna be the Dolphins, the Jets sweeping the Dolphins.
The Jets will not sweep Mike Rabel uh and the Patriots.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
That will not happen. This will be a loss for
the Jets.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Okay, So you have them at eight and eight heading
into the final game of the regular season. Very nice.
Uh yeah, this is gonna be another sweep ski for
the New York Jets obviously, So let's put another dub
up there again. Patriots completely overrated Drake May everyone's overreacting
to a very small sample sized saying he's supposed to
be the guy. They have no wide receiver Stefan Diggs

(14:08):
as a is coming off a torn acl Their other
wide receiver suck Hunter Henry's getting old. Ramondre Stevenson is
a fumbling problem. Maybe Trevion Henderson eventually steals the rock
from New England. I have serious questions about their offensive line.
Absolute sweep skate for the New York Gets. It's another dub.
So twelve and four heading into the week e t G.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Fuck, Yeah, where's your mom?

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Where's your mom?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
She dropped you on your head multiple times in one night.
They didn't have the technology that they do today to
put you back together again, like humpty dumpty.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
So wow, I'm just calling it how I see it.
That's my blessing in my curse, that I can only
tell the truth. Blessed be he boy scout honor, And
I'm just going on how I see you here? So
any who at Buffalo Week eighteen.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Yeah, round it out. This puts them about right where
I thought they would be, above what Vegas predicted. But
the reality is set in they will not match up,
show up, show up against the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen
would be on a roll with the caveat that this
game is meaningless for the Bills, which it may be.

(15:22):
Then the Jets might eat out a win, but I don't.
I'm predicting straight up, if all players are on the field,
that this will be a Buffalo bit will win all right,
eight to nine for the season. Yes, you do well, Pop.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
We haven't agreed a lot on this show, but I
agree with you here. I think this is a loss
for the Jets because they're resting their starters because they
won the AC so you know that's a loss. But
because we're looking for the playoffs getting here on the show,
you got to get some postseason love for here, and
I think the New York Jets, after a long time away,

(15:58):
are going back to the play playoffs. Are you talking
about the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Oh yeah, I have Grandpa. This team's back.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
They're due and that's what happens. So when I said
twelve and five record, very fair, a little slightly above
vegaas obviously, but it's double Oh right, we're here at
twelve and five. That's the most that would tie the
most wins in New York Jets have ever had in
a singular season back in nineteen ninety eight.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
So it's time.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Again once again.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yeah, do so twelve and.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Five baby, and playoffs AFC's division title for the first time.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
It's two thousand teams. Is that hot? Too tight?

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Nope, it feels quite appropriately sized. To be honest with you, again,
my fashionista does not make those sorts of mistakes.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
I don't know what. I'm speechless.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Okay, let me go to this.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
We have Danny in real life, who's been commenting on Twitter,
says hop on pop as the Jets at their ceiling,
and Boygreen has the Jets and fantasy Land they're more
likely to be five and twelve than twelve and five. Oh,
Danny our buffalo Bill's Finn.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
It's all right.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
It's a little weird to be drinking at seven forty
seven in the morning, but I don't judge. That's for
the guy that the Pearly gates, not me. But there
you go. Hey, maybe twelve and five see and he
loves it. And Devin aka d Andy for Life that
you're gonna see at the Jets cowboy him it is
floors twelve and five for the Jets of season, so
I just barely meant his floor quite frankly.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Now, my brother in arms there is maybe maybe he's
drink a little too much of the firewater.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Well that I can't speak to, but we have two
hundred people in the room. Like the video, its subscribed again.
It's Boy Green. It's Boy Green's dad. Hop on pop
over here. We just gave our official Jets season predictions
for the twenty twenty five season. But obviously, as my
father said, I'm not going to be like when we
get to Falcon smooking week thirteen, I'm gonna be like, guys,

(17:57):
watch the episode in September first. That was our prediction. Obviously,
as injuries and other things happened. We will continue to
give her predictions, including this week's Saturday edition Pop Jets Dealers.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
That's right, by the way. Yeah, I've been very clear
and forthright. That's a big word. You want know it
the fourth right on what my prediction was for last year?
What was your prediction last year? Because I remember the
Arizona Cardinals the Jets played him in like week eight.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I don't remember zactly because we ate last year, and
I realized, what's that. I believe it was week ten.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Week ten, and I remember this.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
You didn't have the Jets losing until against the Arizona Cardinals,
and so what was I was twelve and five? What
were you last year? Your pregame predictation?

Speaker 5 (18:38):
I was not right?

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah, to be clear, it definitely wasn't, which I'm glad
you're pointing out. I know it's very difficult for you.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Uh yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
I called it to the rich Ison Show and I
gave my prediction. It's still deepinned comment on my Instagram
and we were on a roll there undefeated, and then
I was just like, hey, Arizona's gotta be realistic. That's
a loss. And that sent the rich Icon crew laughing
a bit on that plot twist they didn't see. But
you know what, I keep my opponent on the heels.
They don't really know what's coming. So no, I was

(19:05):
just a slightly askew on the I believe the prediction
was fifteen and two the Cardinals loss and then Week
eighteen loss because I thought the Jets would have already
had the division wrapped.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Up fifteen and two.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Okay, So I don't want to realistic you only ten
wins off, if that's how you would like to look
at it.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Last year, I'm just saying, yeah, yeah, I want to
happen off you were tens. That's not how I look
at it, but you know.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
All right anyways, AnyWho, So with that being said, folks,
that is our prediction here. We need to quickly though,
go to our raffle tickets because we have Nick Ferry
adjoining us in about ten minutes here on the program.
So again, for everyone that contributed to the entire month
in Austria, I saw that you gave a super chat.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Don't worry.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
That's for a new context that I'm going to do
in a second. But I don't want to confuse anybody
what it is pertinent, but it is super chat okay,
and let's let's get right to it then and again, this,
this contribution you just made is not for today's Raffle.
It is for our new Raffle contest, which to be
announced later. So yes, let's get right to it.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
There in the readil you can show it all.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Sure, Okay, a wow here, let's get that real quick. Wow.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, Austrian jets Fan, I will forfeit if I win
to the second draft we have to spin again, okay,
if he wins.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Or several times as we saw in last month's raft.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yes, it is important to say that I would like
to do an amazing shout out to the number one
Austrian jets fan. We got the gear. You're amazing. Thank
you so much. You will see, you will see, we
will send a picture. We will put it on discord
here very soon. But thank you so much for the gear.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yes, and I'm glad that you brought that up pod
because I wanted to bring it up so excellent and
it is that so Austrian as you see. Beware all
the time now as part of my wardrobe is Austrian Jetfan,
make maybe a bunch of custom cool Jets gear shirts
and you see the Jet banner behind me at my
house from the Jets draft room. He is as apparently

(21:12):
a very creative you know process to him, and he
made a lot of cool shirts. He made a lot
for my pop and made some for my mom and
I presented those gifts over this Vermont trip weekend Austrian
Jet Fan and they were wow. So thank you for
that number one and thank you for your generosity. That's
super cool. So number one Austria Jet Fan is most

(21:33):
represented in this raffle we're about to bring up. But
as he has already said, I will forfeit it if
I win to the second draw. He could be spending
a few times, so people, let's allow the drama to
build here. So Austrian jet Fan, thank you so much.
And your two dollars eurosuper chat which counts for three dollars,
will be another raffle ticket for September contest more than
coming up in just a little bit. So good luck

(21:55):
to everyone out there in the universe. And let's see
who is going to win. So Pop, with out further ado,
we must spin the engine. Okay, here we go. Hey,
it looks like a second.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Spin, right on the edge. Dre Correa.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Dre Correa, congratulations, buddy. This is first time ever winning
one of our contests here on Boy Green Day. We've
started this since December, so congratulations Drake Correa.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Dre.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
If you can please reach out to me or I
know you're a big Boy Green Coffee Club supporter, if
you can please reach out to me on any form
of social media at Boy Green two five or as
I also have here my email. I'll pop that up
on the screen. If anyone knows Drake Correa, please let
him know that he's won the contest.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I don't know if I.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Saw him here in the jet, but here's my email
as well. Paul A the letter E S D E
ed j R gmail dot com. Again, it's my first name,
middle initial, last name in the letters j r at
gmail dot com. Dre, just reach out. I need obviously
your shipping addressed, and I can get your prize pack
out to you very quickly. I'll also present that on
the screen so you guys can see what the prize

(23:08):
pack was for this past month, and then we will
once I get back to New York, because we're about
to leave Vermont here. Once I get back to New York,
I will display and reveal the new prize pack coming
up for next staffle, so we'll be doing that on
the show as well. So congratulations Drake Correa, thank you

(23:30):
so much, buddy, appreciate you and Pop.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Dra Correa ends up winning our contest here, and I
love it when we get first time winners. That's pretty cool.
But again, I think we got to give another shout
out here to our number one Austrian jet fan. He
did not win, so no second draw was necessary. And
that's what I told you guys. Just because someone has
the most Raffle tickets, it's not guarantee that they'll win
every contest. So this should be a healthy reminder to
all of you out there. That's why you should always

(23:56):
spend at least once a month three dollars on the
channel that gives you an opportune unity to win some
of these fabulous prizes. Let's just switch it over here
to this Pop. This is the prize pack. I want
to give another shout out to Badshaw. He gave a
or donated this kickoff kitchen cookbook. So as soon as
Drake Correa gives the shipping information, Badshow will send this
kickoff kitchen cookbook straight to Drake area. We have the

(24:17):
Super Bowl three mint coin, the New York Jets Prime
Athletic houldie and a random vintage Jets player t shirt
a blast from the past.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
All of this is going to.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Drake Correa and again we will announce our next month's
contest coming up as well. So again Dre if you
if you see this on the screen, congratulations you want
our contest. Paul P A U. L A the letter
e sd N Jr at gmail dot com. Go ahead,
pop yep And that just goes to show.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
And as I'm sure Scottie Mayhem knows, all you need
is a chip in the chair, So one entry makes
you have the opportunity to do so. If you don't
have a chip, no chair. So make sure when the
ravel comes out here in the next coming week you
get get your chip in a chair and plug in.

(25:02):
Ready in for the September boy Green raffles.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Yeah again the thing I just as we're just doing
this real quick before Nick comes on. That's the thing
I hear all the time. They will see on a
scrolling ticker normally shows the current you know, raffle ticket
standings and they'll see Austrian have this amazing amount, which,
by the way, Austrian, thank you so much for your
generosity that you were willing to give that up this month,

(25:28):
that you were willing to give it to somebody else,
but you had a large, sizeable amount and he still
didn't win. You never know what's gonna happen. Wheeld names
obviously is at random. So again it is another one
for that and for Lily says he likes that a
chip and a chair. Dad, that's really cool that you
came up with that. Who was the origin for that?

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Yeah, I obviously did not come up with that. I'm
not sure if it was Phil Ivy.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Or no Ivy or doesn't sound right, but I don't
remembers this yellman.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Actually I just saw SOMETHINGO. He just turned eighty. His
name is Dan something or other. He always wore a
green Boston Red Sox at I cannot remember his moniker.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
But yes, I definitely did not come up with that.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
It's going to give you a bunch of props for that.
For a chip in a chair. Let's see if I
can get quickly quote. Okay, let's see.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yep, but it.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Looks like it was Jack Strauss. I didn't remember that
being the name. He was the origin of that that
phrase chip in a chair and he made this apparently
amazing comeback in a poker tournament when he was down
on his luck and was able to turn it around.
So okay, Jack Strauss, who I did not know. I
would have credit that to someone else more modern.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
But there you go, there you go.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
I think we have one of the things to throw
up on the screen while we're waiting for Nick Ferry
to come on.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Go ahead, the fifty fifty.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Hop on pop.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, thank you so much. So yes,
I was thrown off my game there. But again another
congratulations to uh Drake Correa. So if any of you
guys see Drake Correa running to him on the Jacasmin
Show or anywhere else, please make sure you let him
know that he won this contest. All right, yes, good.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
While you're at it, please take that like button to Poundtown.
We're getting the chase for eight thousand is on. If
you're not a subscriber, subscribe. By the way we say subscribe,
we're not talking about to the boy Green Coffee Club.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
We're talking to.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
The YouTube the YouTube what the YouTube which we call it,

is three o'clock. I just booked our Stealer's guests for
this week, the brilliant Alex Kazora of Steelers depot dot com.
He is one of the premier Stealers guys to help
us preview the game. So a big guy shout out
to Alex Kazori. He'll be joining us later this week.

(28:11):
I want more information on this jet stealer stuff before
we bring him on the show, in terms of injury report,
which is something I'm going to get into with Nick Ferry.
But let's show this up on the board for those
that are unaware. Pop before I've ben explain any of this,
can you give us the update on how much money
we're at right now?

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Yeah, so we are just very short of eight hundred dollars.
Thank you for everyone that's donated. We don't want to
take too much time on this, We've get Nick Ferry
coming on. However, take the opportunity. A dollar helps the raffle.
One dollar gets you one spin in the wheel, one
slot on the wheel right to win fifty percent of

(28:48):
the money raise, So right now you'd win four hundred dollars.
We're running this through the day the night before the
game on October fourth, correct, our meet up at midnight
October fourth to midnight. Please donate if you can to
help support those who protect us and keep us free.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
So yes, again, this is for the hop On Pop
Wounded Warrior Project fifty to fifty raffle, which we've been
running for a little bit of time now, but it
will continue to run. This is not a raffle that's
month to month. This is a raffle specifically built to
run all the way through midnight Saturday, October fourth, that is,
the night before it juts Cowboys game. So, folks, fifty
percent of the proceeds go to the Wooded Warrior Project.
Fifty percent of the proceeds go to whoever wins it

(29:26):
again to enter and have a chance to win the
prize pack of money is you just need to bid
one dollar now.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
It's all for.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Charity, so I hope you can dig deeper into your
pockets if that's possible and you have the financial means
to do so. It's a wonderful cause for the Wounded
Warrior Project. And every raffle Ticke it is a doll
If you donate fifty dollars, you get fifty raffle tickets
and the process goes on from there. If you're like
to donate again, it is. And I want to make
sure this is clear because I don't want anyone donating
one thing and thinking they were tricked. The Boygreen Daily

(29:58):
YouTube membership st all that kind of stuff is a
separate raffle which you just saw was won by Drake Area.
This raffle is specifically through my father's venmo and PayPal.
He's keeping it separate. It's better to keep it separate
so nothing gets confused. It's his venmo at Paul Paul
hyphen Es did E SDN or his PayPal which is

(30:20):
at hop on Pop twenty two, all connected, no spaces.
And that image in the top right corner of your screen,
which is a beard, spiky hair in shades.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
That is a.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Profile picture you will see so you will know that
you are in the right place. Again, that is the
way to do so please make sure if you guys,
you know you have the means to do it. It's
an amazing cause as a charity be and my father
of champion for many years and we're championing it once again.
I would love to get over one thousand.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Again.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
We're about two hundred dollars and change short of that,
so we have another month ish to get to that total.
So that would be amazing. And I love an NC
Green giving some kind words here saying Warriors the best
cause on the planet. I absolutely believe so. So it
should be a great time continuing to raise money for
this beautiful charity. Again, if you guys want to do that,

(31:09):
that is exclusively on my father's venmo or PayPal at
Paul hyphen Esden on venmo or on PayPal at hop
on pop twenty two. Anything else you want to show
about the wunded worried about it?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Yeah, not about the project. The reason it's going into
a separate account. No cut will be taken from YouTube. Correct,
That's why it's kept separate from Boy Green's ravels the
things that natures is no confusion. We have the entire
leader board updated for next set for not next upcoming
Saturday show. Well the leaderboard. We are just under eight
hundred dollars, so please donate if you can. If not,

(31:42):
we understand. But let's go jets.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
All right, And just one last quick thing here for
people that don't understand the thing my pop just said.
YouTube whenever you guys send in and stuff, and by
the way, I don't care because I know that's most
convenient for you guys, and we can put it on
the screen and do a lot of fun stuff. Is
when you guys send in a super chat or a
membership or any amount of money on the channel, YouTube
takes thirty percent of that off the top and they

(32:06):
keep it. So that's how it works. So I know
some of you sometimes get frustrated as and all go
to wherever you intended it to go. But just for that,
but again, I love doing this on YouTube, and if
YouTube helps us make it easier, I'm all about it.
But specifically, especially when we're doing money for charity, it
seems wrong to give thirty percent of that and then
we're splitting up the other percentage between things. So let's

(32:27):
try to make it as straight even as possible. Again,
if PayPal or Venmo does not work for any of
you out there in the universe, reach out to me
and we'll try to find a creative other way to
do it. For instance, if you guys reach out and say, hey,
I'd love to give you cash on Jet's Cowboys game,
and you tell me that in advance, that can still
count toward the raffle. Potentially you guys could do that
at the tailgate if that was another way you want

(32:47):
to do it, Although we're drawing that winner on that Sunday,
October fifth. All right, Popper, are you hanging around for
some Nick Ferria Jets Beet reporter action.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
No, I'm going to let you and Nick have at
it coffee club. I will see you on Saturday game
day day before game day.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Let's go, all.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Right, so I'll play this quick time out. We'll see
what happens. We may go to the phone calls, we
may go to Nick Ferry, we may do a little
bit of both.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
That's coming up.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Next right here on Boy Green Daily Ball of.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
Green Budgy Day, Pluggy Day, Plugging Da Hope, Jets, Football
Man Bag, Budging Day, Buggy da Pluggy Day.

Speaker 1 (33:32):

So it's Jet Steelers week, baby, all right, let's answer
some questions or comments here and Nick Ferrio should be
joining us here in a little bit. All right, appreciate
Fox Sports Talk, Baby, j E. T. S Jet Jet Jet.
I love Aaron the Jet Chant.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
There, you go, baby, and look at that just like
a run, you know, rubbing the side of a lamp
to call out at Jeanie.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
The j E. T.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
S Jet Chant has summoned the one and only Jets
Beat reporter for X Factor Jets x factor dot Com.
And also he is the head home show for the
Rivedale Press, that is Nick Feria Baby for Jet Steelers Week.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (35:24):
Nick?

Speaker 1 (35:25):
How's the thing going?

Speaker 5 (35:25):
Paul?

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Great, you're back on. I can't believe it's Jet Steelers week.
Has it hit you that now?

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Like you know?

Speaker 1 (35:31):
And obviously for the Cowboys Eagles actually we're going to
see in a couple of days, so that's going to
kick off things on Thursday. But wow, after all this time,
we're finally here.

Speaker 8 (35:41):
One of the faster off seasons I've ever experienced. But yeah,
it's great to uh, football is back. It's great to
finally be able to watch some of these games. It
should be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Now it's this maybe obvious, but maybe not obvious to
the fans. So we're still early in the week here.
There's a bit of a holiday break here for the Jets,
and they're returning tomorrow, and then we'll have a sort
of an uneven I guess work week coming up here
because they'll have that Wednesday off, which is normally like
install day and all that stuff coming up. So, Nick,
the thing I'm sort of concerned about, I'm just curious

(36:13):
if you're concerned about it, or if you have any updates,
feel free to share some of the injuries for the Jets.
The Tyrod Taylor thing. We could start there, because apparently
the Jets had a lot of interest in Tommy DeVito.
That interest, to me at least indicates that maybe Tyrod
won't fully be ready to go. Is that a fair
We'll start with that injury and go to others. Is
that a fair assumption to make?

Speaker 8 (36:33):
No, And I'll say, their interest in Tommy DeVito to
me told me that this organization understood who Tyrod Taylor
was and the fact of the matter is if something
were to happen to justin fields, Tyrod Taylor has gotten
hurt before as well. He is someone that isn't exactly
a player that is durable. To say the leads at

(36:56):
least in the older he gets, the less durable he becomes.
This is in a knock on him.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
He's one of the best backups in football.

Speaker 8 (37:02):
But uh, you want to make sure that you have
a quality QB three If that's the case, that at
least can run the offense. It's It's also why I
brought up a dtr is such an interesting figure at
this point, because he is a scrambler who could sort
of run that that zone R type of offense. I
don't think it's a reflection on Tyrod Taylor at this point.

(37:23):
The fact that they were interested in to Vito. I
just think that they knew or they expect that they'll
have to go to QB three at one point. Uh,
and they want to have a quarterback who can run
the run the football and run the offense like it's
designed to be run. I think de Vito is one
of those players I can do.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
That totally fair enough that that's a totally, totally reasonable
response to that, sometimes I got a little crazy, Nick Barry,
so I got to rate it in a little bit.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Okay, what about this one?

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Right? So Aaron Glenn has a named a starting center
that has like sent a lot of people into a dizzy.
My first thought of why he has it is one,
he doesn't have the sure information, he doesn't want you
for whatever is. But number two, does that mean that
John simpson injury with the back is more serious? Because
as we Shan Preese is in a week Numero Uno
against Green Bay. Simpson couldn't go, so Tipman played guard

(38:14):
Myers at center. Is that another legitimate possibility with the
Simpson back issue heading into the season.

Speaker 8 (38:21):
Over at the TVD. But Simpson has been playing, he
has been practicing. I think that the big question is
going to be what's it going to look like to
start practices. We can speculate right now, but until they
hit the practice field Tuesday, Thursday, all these kinds of places,
we're just not gonna know. Uh So I would I
would have everyone err on the side of caution at

(38:42):
this point, Let things happen, let things unravel.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
At this point, we're.

Speaker 8 (38:47):
Gonna find the decision. We're gonna understand what that decision
is within the next few days, most likely on game day.
So it's just a matter of waiting and seeing.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
All right, I'm giving you a big piece of pine
are you, Nick Ferry?

Speaker 8 (39:00):
Do you like I'm more of a chocolate cake, chocolate
chip cookies type of guy.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
I'm more of the old classic. Give me some chocolate
and I'm good to go. Okay, well, we'll go with
the chocolate cake for you. I'm willing to adapt, so
I'll give you a piece of chocolate cake.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
It's right here.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
It's imaginarily it's sitting here. It's a big fat circle.
I want you to tell me the percentage of the
cake that it could be Josh Myer's running out week one.
It's the starting center for the New York Jets versus
the rest of the cake that is dedicated to Joe Chibbit.
If you had to sort of spitball that at us,
not knowing the decision and the cake's right there, who's

(39:35):
getting what percentage of the cake? In terms of what
you think is going to happen? I mean, that's such
a tough question because we just they've been rotating these
guys all of camp.

Speaker 8 (39:45):
Every single day of camp, And personally, I have disagreed
with that to say, with that option, because you want
to have your starting five work together as much as
they possibly can.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Any rep you don't give them is a rep.

Speaker 8 (39:58):
Wasted in my opinion, particularly with the centers now calling
out lines, the line of scrimmages, lines of adjustments, all
those different things. If we're judging the player based on
how he can block, it really is no contest. Joe
Tipman is a much better blocker. He gets to the
second level a lot faster. He's just a better, in

(40:19):
my opinion, center than Josh Myers. But Myers has been
playing the position a little bit longer. And Joe Tipman's
high snaps are something that you know has been talked
about in recent years. Do I think it's as big
as many people are expecting, and as and and as
bringing up and as concerned about.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
No.

Speaker 8 (40:38):
You look at every great center in the National Football
League and they've gone through this in their early careers.
They've they've gone through the high snaps. Where was that
snap going? What are you trying to do here? And
when I talked to Joe Tipman about it, I would say,
like a couple of weeks ago, right before the final
preseason game, he talked about it.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
It's it's assist.

Speaker 8 (40:57):
What happens is when you're a center, you're trying to
get the ball out as quickly as possible so you
can get up to the second level. Do the Jets
prefer a center who can snap the ball you know,
pretty well every single time, but struggles to block, or
do they want someone who, Okay, there may be a
bad snapy or two, but he's going to be one
of the better blocking centers in the National Football League.

(41:19):
To me, it's no context. Joe Tipman has been the
better center throughout camp. But there may be something else
that Aaron Glenn and this coaching staff are looking at,
and that may change the conversation, if you will, about
the center position. But I will say if they go
to Josh Myers, they are going to have to answer
for every bad game he has, and they're going to

(41:41):
have to answer for signing a guy at three million dollars,
putting him in the starting lineup and saying, Okay, yeah,
well we're going to start him over our young center. Now,
who's going into who could be eligible for a contract
extension next year. I mean that changes the whole complexion
of what the offensive line is going to look like.
So there are major questions that have to be asked,

(42:01):
particularly if Josh Myers wins the job. I'm a firm
believer that it's still tipman. I just you look at
the tape. You look at the tape through all the
preseason games, and he has just been better. He's been
flat out better.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
Okay, Well, so, because you know, it's interesting that you
brought up, you know, the snaps, you know.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
Versus the actual blocking.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
Because I don't know if you saw Jet's final drive
the new s and wivestow O'Connor Hughes and Zach Rosenblatt.
But Zach is exactly in your camp. So apparently your
team Zach, if we're doing that thing again, tag team
Zach versus hash tag team Connor. But Zack says, hey,
I don't think the snapping issues have been as bad
as people are saying. He's just been a better blocker.
And Connor Hughes went, well, we can't snap and snapping

(42:45):
the football SiPort for a center. So they've been sort
of debating and going at each other about who should
be starting Week one in that competition. In general, Zack
is a team tipman. He's the better offensive lineman. Connor
Hughes of S and Y say, hey man, Josh Myers
has been a more consistent snapper of the football, and
he says he's been seeing some of the tipm and
snapping issues throughout trending camp. Is that something you've seen

(43:07):
because people were talking about that in years past, But
Connor was really the first one that I've heard consistently,
Like of all the Beat reporters, I've heard people talk
about tipm and snapping issues from past years, Like, WHOA,
that's a concern. But in terms of this training camp
and being around I had the Connor is the first
person I've heard from that the snapping issues have been
erratic according to his observations, because it would have been

(43:30):
your observation. It is on the Joe tipman snapping throughout
this camp, specifically this year.

Speaker 8 (43:37):
No, I just it hasn't and it hasn't been nearly
as bad as it was, Like let's be fair, really,
we want to talk. If he has a high snap
in a practice, it's one snap and then they move
on and maybe it happens every other practice. Last year
it was happening three or four times a day, and
you're just kind of like, Okay, where's this going?

Speaker 1 (43:58):
What is he doing?

Speaker 8 (44:00):
But it's I agree with Zach, it hasn't been nearly
as bad as people make it out to be. There are, yes,
there are going to be some high snaps. But the
big question mark to me on how to judge a center. Okay,
if I'm judging the center based on it, if he
can snap a ball correctly every single time, well then
Jason Kelsey is not going into the Hall of Fame

(44:22):
because a big problem for him in the first seven
eight years of his career, a problem that he had
even into his later years when he was in all
pro is the fact that he had some really bad snaps.
Sometimes it would be low, sometimes he'd be high, sometimes
he'd be a completely aborted snap, whatever it ends up being.
Kelsey had a big problem with that and it happened
pretty much his entire career. So we can say that

(44:45):
it's a very important thing, the basic form of the job.
But if the one of the greatest centers of all
time had that issue, and he's still one of the
greatest centers of all time, clearly it's not as big
of a deal as we want to make it out
to be. I think Tipman the snap question is nowhere
near as bad as it was, and I think that's
where we have to understand. If we're going to Josh Myers,

(45:08):
then this was a preconceived thought by the coaching staff
where Tipman was going to be replaced regardless.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
Yeah, I think I saw this comment in the YouTube pool.
To apologies that I couldn't see it immediately, but you know,
if Simpson's out for let's say Week one, and the
Jets trot out the same lineup that they did for
week one of the preseason, Tipman's playing guard, Myers playing center,
and they're just doing fine. There's there. I don't want
to say surviving, They're they're fine, They're whatever that it works.

(45:36):
I'm curious if Simpson's ready for we two, what happens.
Do the Jets say, all right, let's keep continuity, Tipman out,
Simpson in, or do they reshuffle it and Tipman's back
at center, because that's what happened in other pre games.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
The next week.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
It wasn't Meyers back up there at center, it was
Tipman back out there at center. So that'll be sort
of curious another injury situation. Then we'll get to some
phone calls here as well. Jermaine Johnson, how much this
chocolate cake? I'm gonna no, no, we will put the check,
I said, Jermaine Johnson. How many snaps is this guy
gonna play? Realistically, he's coming off a torn Achilles, for
God's sakes.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
But the reports I'm.

Speaker 1 (46:12):
Hearing from some of your Beat reporters when he came back,
it is like he looked like the sake coming to
Lord Taylor for Pete's sake.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
So it's hard for.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
Me to balance, you know, doctor Esden and football fan Sden.
I'm not sure what to do here, Nick help.

Speaker 8 (46:25):
So I again, and I've been I've been a very
big proponent of people need to be patient with Jaraine Johnson. Uh,
just because he looks good in practice, does I mean
he's gonna look good in the game. Just because he
looks healthy in practice does not mean that's gonna be
the case in the game. The Jets, when we talked
to Aaron Glenn last week, he kind of said what
we were all expecting. We're not gonna rush him and

(46:45):
we're going to sort of hold him back from himself,
because we want to make sure he's one hundred percent
not just for Week one, but for the entire season.
So I do expect him to be on a pitch count.
I don't know how much how many games, you know,
plays he's gonna be in on rough estimate, maybe fifteen
twenty and that's a completely rough guess that kind of thing.

(47:06):
Maybe a third of the snaps, and you try to
rotate people in.

Speaker 1 (47:10):
But if you're continuing to play well, then you'd want
to give them more and a little bit more and
a little bit more.

Speaker 8 (47:14):
But the way that I see it, why would you
Week one is the biggest outlier of the NFL season.
We want, we want our teams to start one to
oh But at the end of the day, if they
start oh and one, plenty of on one teams make
it to the super Bowl, Plenty of on one teams
make it to the playoffs, they have successful years. So
I just this idea that they need to start out

(47:38):
fast is just not what the NFL season is about anymore.
And I don't know how many coaches have said, listen,
you know, if we're two and two, and we'll be
fine if we're you know, if we're three and two,
we'll be fine because the early part of the season
is an extension now of the preseason in a lot
of organization's minds, and I just I can't imagine Jermaine

(48:01):
Johnson playing sixty five seventy five one hundred percent of
the defensive snaps when this guy is just coming off
in achilles injury.

Speaker 2 (48:09):
Neither could I.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
Again, that would just be stunning, which means, say, hey,
Jet fans, learn some Michael Kleiman's action, baby, because you
may be seeing a lot of that in Week one.
Before we get to the phone lines, I just want
to start off here. It's Monday, so again, this line
could change. But the Steelers Jets. When that game was
first announced, the line opened at two and a half.
To start this week, the line remains two and a half.

(48:30):
The Steeers being a two and a half point favorite
in Mettlife Stadium against the Jets. Is that an appropriate
line in your opinion? Nick Fariot, absolutely absolutely, Pittsburgh should
be favorite.

Speaker 8 (48:39):
They have the better quarterback, they have the better coach,
they have the better defensive line, all of this, of
course being on paper. I came out with my hot
takes yesterday. I don't think Pittsburgh is going to do
well at all. I think they're actually going to miss
the playoffs. They'll finish under five hundred for the first
time since two thousand and three, and Al will be
well no longer be coach after this year. That's one

(49:03):
of my five hot takes on the upcoming season.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
Good morning, I'm looking forward to what the other four are.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
I'd come and swing, let's just put it that way.
But the big thing, I think.

Speaker 8 (49:16):
It comes down the quarterback play, and do you trust
Aaron Rodgers or you trust Justin Fields. Aaron Rodgers where
he is now still better quarterback than Justin Fields, at
least on paper. So you have to give Pittsburgh the
benefit of the doubt in that retrospect. But that does
not mean the Jets cannot win this game. Two and
a half is nothing, and it really could change if

(49:37):
they can force a turnover, if they could run the
ball effectively, that obviously changes the spread as well.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Hey, by the way, I don't want you to spoil
the rest, because that was incredibly pantlyzing. But if someone
wants to read the other four of those sizzling hop takes,
is that Jets.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
X factor dot Com.

Speaker 9 (49:55):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, okay if you are, if you
are a Cardinals, Patriots, Titans, or Giants fan, you'll be
very happy.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Let's just put it that way. Okay, what a tease?
All right, fascinating? All right, everybody, we got over three
hundred people in the room, like the video, hit subscribe,
shot your support. We're about seventy some odd people away
from eight thousand subscribers. We're gonna go to your phone calls.
Let's go first, Pepster, what's up, Hey, Paul?

Speaker 2 (50:22):
Hey, nick A Bellas he don't.

Speaker 6 (50:24):
I want to talk about Connor Hughes suggesting that g
dub is going to be our primary slot receiver. And
at first I was a little confused about that, but
then it made sense to me because then the sidelines
don't come into play with him. He also he also
excelled at that in college. I want your thoughts on that.

Speaker 8 (50:44):
That's been his natural role for a very long time now,
he was, he was there last year with Rogers. It's
that's that's essentially the role he's been playing now for
a few years. That's that shouldn't affect anything, that shouldn't
update anyone or change anyone's mind on Garret Wilson.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
Ceede Lamb operates almost exclusively from the slot. It's just
Garret Wilson's another one of those players.

Speaker 6 (51:05):
Got you, got you, because they were mentioning that it
brings them closer to the ball and that way the
ball will come out quicker. I'm assuming they're going to
be running these quick They're gonna run.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
Yeah, they're gonna run.

Speaker 8 (51:15):
This passing offense is going to be get the ball
at Garrett Wilson, get out of his way, and that's
essentially what it's going to be about. They'll try to
have a deep shot to Aaron Smith maybe once or
twice a game, but this is predominantly about ten or
angstrands scheming Garrett Wilson open and Justin Field's getting him
the ball.

Speaker 5 (51:31):
Thanks.

Speaker 2 (51:31):
Bellis all right, beautiful.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
I have that's a good question because I think that's
you know, for fans that think of Garrett Wilson's and
some of these other big retrievers in the world, a
lot of us just assume, because I don't think a
lot of us look at some of those snap percentages. Oh,
he's obviously a boundary receiver, but as you say, Nick, Yeah, cool,
that's the news. But the news there's no news because
that's been happening since basically day one.

Speaker 5 (51:54):
It sounds like, yeah exactly.

Speaker 8 (51:55):
And when you have a receiver like Garrett Wilson who's
not six or five, why are you going to put
him out wide against some very tall athletic corners. You
want to put him in a place where he is
going to succeed long term. And this offensive coaching staff
is aware of his skill set, and to me, his
skill set is beating these slot slot corners to death

(52:18):
and finding ways to match up against the weaker opponent
on the defensive side. That's what you want to see
from Garrett. That's what you want to see from this
Jets coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
All right, let's go to another call. We got Oh
good morning, No, good morning. So I got some big news. Okay,
do you do you have the access to turn on
your camera?

Speaker 4 (52:41):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, yeah, give me a second.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
Yeah, okay, all right, can you see me now?

Speaker 1 (52:54):
Sheets are awesome? All right, mister famous Fulton, you have
big news to share. Me and Nick are anxiously waiting please.
All right, Well, I got the cast list and I'm
one of the policemen for singing in the rain this year.

Speaker 2 (53:07):
Congratulations.

Speaker 1 (53:08):
Wow, okay, terrific news man, terrific news. Yeah, thank you, yep,
so we so are you gonna when you're on stage,
you're gonna channel Nick Faria when you're sort of delivering
this or who are you channeling? Where's your mental space
right now, mister famous Fulton?

Speaker 2 (53:26):
My mentor space? Yeah, let's see.

Speaker 4 (53:33):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
How you feeling short of heading into this process?

Speaker 1 (53:38):
I feel pretty good about it.

Speaker 6 (53:41):
The last time I had.

Speaker 9 (53:44):
Was in on so my head, but this time I'm
doing the speaking part.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
Okay, good, well, congratulations that said, that's awesome. I don't
know if I'm supposed to be calling you officer, mister
famous Fulton. Now, yeah, terminology. I haven't been on the forest.
And I respect everyone that's in our blue for sure.

Speaker 7 (54:04):
Yep, I sure, and we have all well us is
in two weeks on September fourteen.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
Okay, well, officer, mister famous Fulton. Congratulations, thank you for
your service. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (54:20):
Wow, okay, big news.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
A lot of the congratulations coming in the chat, baby wow, Okay,
any advice.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
Nick Faria as he plays a police officer.

Speaker 8 (54:29):
And singing in the rain I'll talk to my brother.
He's currently on Broadway and everything, so I gotta.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
Okay, runs in the Fia family should not surprise me. Wow, Okay,
all right, this is going to be a shorter show
than normal, so Nick, our interviews will be a little
bit shorter.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
Here. I think we have time for maybe one more
call here. Let's go to it.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
We've got Neil joining us here on the show with
a jokey. What's up, Neil?

Speaker 5 (54:58):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (54:58):
Guys?

Speaker 5 (54:59):
Happy Labor Day to everybody.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yeah, Happy game week, babe? What's going on?

Speaker 1 (55:03):
Game week? Labor Day.

Speaker 4 (55:06):
I'm listening as we speak to Bill Cower give his
twenty twenty five Steeler prediction. Okay, and you know, he
says that it's a great roster, and he says they're
going to get better throughout the year. So that gives
you know, Look, we're you know, we're gonna catch them early,

(55:27):
and that's the best time to catch, you know.

Speaker 5 (55:29):
I think the greeam I think if we're.

Speaker 4 (55:32):
Gonna you know, bottom line is this, we have to
run for four yards of carry. If we can average
four yards of carry, keep the penalties down. Justin runs
for eighty yards, we you know, get some good success
in the red zone and take time and possession. We
could win any game with those numbers. Not really that difficult.

(55:54):
It's just a matter of mistakes and turnovers. The one
thing I'm looking forward to morning anything this year is
turning the goddamn ball over. We have not done that
in so many years. We haven't turned the ball over.
I mean, last year we got our first interception of
what game ten? What's his name? Is the interception by

(56:18):
the guy that left us?

Speaker 5 (56:19):
What's his name?

Speaker 2 (56:20):
Are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (56:21):
Brandon Echles eccles. That was like the first interception we got.
I think it took us ten games.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
Yeah, I mean, that's.

Speaker 5 (56:28):
Not gonna We can't have that happen this year.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
We have to do something much different this year.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
So I'm expecting.

Speaker 4 (56:33):
Good things, turnovers, field goals. We'll do what we can
and let's take it one game at a time. Guys,
let's see what happens. Let the chips fall. I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
All right, there we go, Neil I joined us here
on the show. A quick question before we sign off here, Nick,
this is always interesting. I've always been fascinated by this,
and I don't know if I've ever found the answer. So,
when you're on the beat and you're like covering practices
and you're there, is there a dress code that you
have to follow?

Speaker 8 (57:01):
Well, you can't walk in and uh beachwear and sandals,
but there's no necessarily no no dress code. Per se
can obviously wear imposing teams, hat apparel or anything like that.
Other sports are perfectly safe and whatnot. College is perfectly safe.
But yeah, it's it's it's kind of relaxed in that

(57:23):
way where you can sort of wear what you want,
but you just can't obviously wear the actual teams and
supporting other teams around the league.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
But so, because I see this from Dave Brigna, is
Nicholau to wear Jets gears?

Speaker 2 (57:35):
So could you support if you wanted to?

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Not, I don't think I've ever seen you in it,
but if you wanted to, could you wear team gear
like Jets at job?

Speaker 8 (57:43):
Yeah, you can't really do that because then that would
be a confident of interest. Then that's essentially saying I
actually root for the team and I want the team
to succeed, instead of just telling people what's actually going
on as part of a p reporter's job, I will
say Yeah, there's only one team.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
Gear that I wear. It's not going to be Jets.
It's just I don't I don't really do that sort
of thing. Yeah, but so that's but that's a personal
thing though that you could do it if you wanted
to potentially.

Speaker 8 (58:07):
Well, if you wanted to like go outside and like
go golfing and you had I don't know, just Jets
socks or something. Sure, but the big thing is it's
a conflict of interest. You want to make sure that
you are as impartial as you possibly can be, and
you can't really do that if you're sporting the team,
you're covering's gear all over the place.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
That's totally fair. I just had that question. I'm like, huh,
I don't know, never asked.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
That's interesting because I see ant once daily. It's quite
a connoisewer of hat combinations and and uh uh, you know,
a chair combination, shoe combination. To excuse me, I have
a super check coming in here for you, Nick. Every
time we get a super chat, we hear from my
daughter's a right, Luna, very nice and psy Okay, sorry

(01:03:47):
about that. Folks had some technical difficulties here, all right, Nick,
are you Nicky to hear me, Yes, I can. Okay,
sorry about that. Yeah, let's end the show this. Sorry
about the technical difficulties. Earn Vermont Louby. Superjetsman asks Nick,
why have they not traded for a wide reciver at
you go, Jens, This may be the question that you've
answered more than any other question on our show in

(01:04:09):
our show's history.

Speaker 4 (01:04:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
No, they don't need one. That's the problem.

Speaker 8 (01:04:13):
Their offense is going to be predicated on running the
football effectively. They're not going to be passing the ball
a lot. I think the overall target share for justin fields,
I would say is around one hundred to one hundred
and fifty targets for wide receivers and backup tight ends
opposite the big three of Mason Taylor, Garret Wilson, and
Breeze Hall.

Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
One hundred and fifty targets is not enough for a
number two wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
It's just not so.

Speaker 8 (01:04:39):
The way that I look at it, it's there's no
need to overpay. There's no need to pay anything for
a receiver who's not going to have the kind of
production fans are going to want in a number two
wide out.

Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
Which makes a lot of sense, so, Louby, and it's
not controversial. I know you're like your reaction to my
reaction to your question. It's just that's just been a
very popular conversation about why haven't they done it? Will
they do it? How could it happen? I will just
say we'll end here on this one. Nick as rich
Simini yesterday, I don't know if you saw it, but

(01:05:12):
he named the basically said Jacoby Myers a name to
watch for the New York Jets. It seems speculative, but
I don't know if he had any additional sourcing on
it that maybe that's a name to watch, is something
that could happen.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Anything to share.

Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
On that, No, And I just so Myers has obviously
been a really good receiver throughout his career.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
But he's not an X, all right. He's not a Z.

Speaker 8 (01:05:34):
He's not outside corners. He's a slot guy. You already
have Garret Wilson working out of the slot. What would
you be doing there? Would you honestly believe Myers could
step into an EX or Z role? Would you want
to just move Garrett Wilson outside to where he's probably
not in his natural position? That seems like an unnecessary
gamble to me, and it's just one of those things.

(01:05:56):
So you know what, I want fifteen only in a
year for Josh Mohford Kobe Myers. Do I want him
at ten million for a number two wide receiver?

Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
I just don't.

Speaker 8 (01:06:06):
It's just not a position that's going to be a value.
If they ad a different quarterback, you know, maybe absolutely
it's more worth it. But this isn't the type of
quarterback that's going to be throwing the ball and reading
defenses into their second, third, and fourth reads. It's read
the first read, read the second read, and then take
off and make a play. That's essentially what Justin Field
is going to be doing.

Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
I want to ask, did you give a final season
prediction anywhere?

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
If so, when is it happening or is it happening?

Speaker 8 (01:06:37):
That is in the Hot Takes article that came out yesterday,
I have the Jets finishing nine to eight but missing
the playoffs. So they take a very similar stride to
Bill Parcells, where he went nine and seven his first
year but missed the playoffs. I think they do pretty
much exactly the same thing, but they end up missing
it regardless. I think by a half game based on
the matchups between New England and the other team that

(01:07:01):
is surprisingly in the postseason for me, So it'll be fun,
it'll be exciting. I think Jet fans will will look
back on this season as a pillar for greatness further growth.
But I don't see them making the playoffs this year.
I think at the end of the year that final
game when they're eight and eight, they beat Buffalo, who
rest their starters, who squacked up the one or two seed,

(01:07:24):
and then they use that win to catapult themselves moving forward.

Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
Hey, the second winning season the last fourteen years sounds
good to me, Nick Faria, that's certainly a lot of progress. Well, Nick,
and thank you so much for joining us of the show.
We're gonna love to get your insights throughout the season.
Enjoy game week and we'll check in with you next week. Absolutely.
Thanks Paul there is Nick for our beat reporter from
Jets x factor dot com. I want to thank everybody

(01:07:49):
for joining us. Sorry for the technical difficulties there, appreciate
thank you for the few.

Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Calls we got in.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
Things will return back to normal on the show tomorrow,

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
