season on most of these game days. That is Matt Lombardo.
What's up, Matt?
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Well, what's up, Paul? I guess my camera here decided
to go sideways. Let's try to get that going here. Okay,
it's one week off, a little sick, little little under
the weather, and the camera decides it's its term to
get sick.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
No, that's all right, you know, we got to work
out the kinks. That's what the preseason is all about here, Matt,
and we're figuring it out, ups and downs, lefts and rights,
there's no question about it. But I appreciate you powering
through whatever horizontal or vertical difficulties we may encounter. That's
good to know that we can put you in the
lineup and if things go a little sideways, perhaps that
we're going to work our way out of it.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Matt Labar just got audible with the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
You get it figured out. That's it, baby. So let's
just announce this right off the top road Man number one.

going to be more to this let's short up on
the screen. All of these items are going to one
lucky winner on September first, which is tomorrow. We'll draw
that winner with my old man on the Boy Green Daily. Tomorrow.
(03:24):
There's a random vintage Jets player T shirt, New York
Jets Highland Mint, super Bowl three flip point New York
Jets Logo Athletic Prime Hoody T shirt. I'll kick off
kitchen cookbook from Super Bowl chef Tim Lopez. You guys
can stuff the ballots and try to have as many
opportunities to win these prizes as possible, which is great.
Which if you want to be eligible to buy raffle
to good to only cost three bucks, so you can
(03:46):
spend that with Super Jets superstickers or gifted memberships or
joining the Boy Green Coffee Club yourself, which is a
pin common on YouTube. But however, Matt is willing to
grease the wheels a little bit more, and I'm not
sure how he can even afford to do this, but
that's for Matt's accout to figure out. We're just gonna
get it for the benefit of the fans here, and
it's this I've talked about, you know, obviously, Matt, when's
(04:08):
on the show every week, gives us all kinds of
great information. But I said, if you want to hear
more from that, you can do so via that direct
link to a substack down below. There are free subscribers
and there are paid subscribers. What Matt is willing to
do for anyone that purchases a Raffle ticket today for
a normal contest, so you still will have a chance
to win all those prizes if you do that. But
on top of that, Matt is willing to give out
(04:30):
a free month of Between the hash Marks. Let you
come into the house, look around, check out, and browse.
And he's so confident by letting you in the house
for free for a month, by the end of the month,
you're gonna want to jump on the train and be
a new subscriber to Between the hash Marks. And that's
a bet I'm worth willing to take as well. So Matt,
(04:52):
talk a little bit more about why you're deciding to
do this ahead of the season.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
This is incredible, Yeah, Paul, I was really excited, and
you know, I'm really appreciative of the audience and then
what you're building here and you welcome me into your
house every week to break down the biggest storylines around
the NFL. What I'm hearing about the Jets and all
of those things. And I was just sitting there watching
college football last night, and I was thinking, Oh, Paul
runs these great raffle contests every month. The regular season
is kicking off this week, so you know, I figured
(05:18):
I would invite the people to if they purchase a
Raffle ticket into the Paul Boygreen Daily Contest today. During

credit card necessary. You get it onto the list, You

those questions to executives and scouts and coaches around the
league to get their answers to your questions. All of
that for one month, and if you decide the end
of that month that you enjoy it as part of
(06:02):
your NFL content regimen, stay around, stick around, become a
paid subscriber join the family moving forward. But I thought
this would be a great chance to give your listeners
and your viewers and your readers a peek behind the
curtain of everything we have to offer and give them
a chance to see if it's something that they want
to sign up for long.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Term, which is awesome. It gives them a free trial.
And I was going to say essentially, it's not. Essentially,
it's really a free trial to check it out from
NFL insider Matt Lombardo. And apparently that's having immediate results
as memberships are coming in here. Let's give a shout
out to our number one Oustrian jet fan. You've sent
Matt Lombardo sideways. For God's sakes, with your.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Members this might be an ongoing issue today for some
re apologize to everybody.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, that's all right. Maybe if I throw another membership
and it'll flip it back. Oh sweet, it's working. There
we go.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Hopefully it stays that way for now moving forward.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, let's give two shadows here. So number one, ashero jetman,
just gifted a membership and see Green just gives you
the membership. So both of you are now eligible or

(07:38):
at gmail dot com, or like I said, you can
also reach out via Discord. If you have some other
way to reach me on social media, feel free to
do it that way. Again, take advantage of what Matches offered,
which I imagine is what inspired that boo, and more
of them possibly coming up here. So again, you guys
can reach out to me, please do so, and a
big shout out here. Here are the two members by
the way to the Boy Green Coffee Club. Shadow to
(08:00):
you guys. Let's see NC Green gave that to Howie
K very nice, and Austrian's went to Modane three three
four to two. You guys are new members of the
Boy Green Coffee Club and both of you just earned
some premium access to between the hashmarks. I think man
has lost his mind personally, but you know what, if
this is what he wants to do, I must honor
his wishes. That's just the kind of guy. I am,
(08:22):
just a kind of guy, and I will keep track
of this throughout the show to make sure that you
guys are taken care of at the end of the show.
So appreciate it, Austrian and NC Green, all right, we'll
continue to monitor that. So everybody continued to send in
your raffle tickets to that. But let's get into a
variety of bits and kaboodles here. First off, I'll go
to the most recent thing that came out this morning.
(08:43):
Rich Samini, a ESPN puts out a Sunday morning column
every week basically what he's hearing around the team, and
the thing that intrigued me the most this morning is
I was getting ready for the show. I'm like, ah,
let me just take a peek. If there's anything in
there worth possibly bringing up on the show, I'm like, oh,
Jacoby Meyers quote a name to watch for the New
York Jets and a potential trade. Jacoby Myers quested a
(09:05):
trade earlier this offseason. We did a Boy Green Daily
episode earlier this month about the possibility and what some
insiders are saying. Let me throw that over to you,
Matt Lombardo. Jet fans are desperately seeking a wide receiver
two to Garrett Wilson, and they've been floating every name
under the sun, under the universe of Ooh, maybe it'll
be Terry McLaurin. Oh it'll be Jameson Willams. Oh there's
a lobby this is Maybe it's the least sexy name
(09:29):
of the bunch, perhaps one of the more effective Jacoby
Myers named to watch for the Jets. What more can
he talks about, Jacoby, Yeah, Paul.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
If we've seen anything over the past week, it is
that Daryn Mougley is now not afraid to be aggressive.
And there was a switch that was flicked after this
preseason in terms of where they think they are in
the evolution of becoming a contender, and one of the
big pieces that they're going to have to pull off
and find over the next couple of days here is
that number two wide receiver. I might be higher than
(09:57):
most people on Jacoby Myers. I've really liked him over
the last two years. I think he's an ascending talent.
And you just look at the numbers last year, over
one thousand receiving yards for the first time, over eight
hundred receiving yards each of the past four season, and
I think that even more important than that, the metric
that I really look to one of them evaluating wide
receivers is the Pro Football Focus quarterback rating when targeted
(10:21):
right and Myers Jets quarterbacks had a ninety point nine
passer rating when throwing Jacoby Myers's direction. To me, that
just shows a guy who's consistently getting open, consistently getting
the football, has the confidence of his starting quarterback. And
you just look at the Jets situation. We've talked every
Sunday over the last month and a half about the
desperate need for that number two wide receiver opposite Garrett Wilson.
(10:46):
It's a glaring hole on the offense. It's a glaring
hole if you're trying to evaluate whether Justin Fields is
your quarterback in the future or not. Myers is probably
relatively affordable for Mogli and the Jets from a trade
draft capital perspective, And if I were the Jets, this
is a name that I'd be pretty excited about.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
All right, let me let you something. I haven't had
a chance to sweet out the clip or really cover
it much, but maybe I could combine all these notes
at some point today to write a column about this
Jacoby Myers thing. Connor Hughes, NFL Insider for s Andy,
speculated that it's going to cost around a second round
pick to acquire Jacoby Myers, and obviously you have to
compensate him. The whole reason he requests the trade from
(11:25):
the Raiders is because he wants his contract updated and
him and the Raiders cannot come to an agreement on
whatever that's going to look like. He's currently has a
ten and a half million dollar base salary in the
final year of his contract for the twenty twenty five season.
What do you make of that speculation, for lack of
a better word, from Connor Hughes that it could be
around that draft rank. Is that right? Is it going
(11:45):
to be less than that? What would it cost to
do it? From that perspective, And also, the wide receiver market,
Matt is a wild while west. We're seeing receivers as
high as forty something million a year. Garrett Wilson just
got thirty two and a half. Jacoby's making ten right now,
so really anything would be a massive upgrade for him.
But what's the right contract price to you? Because I
think that's another thing for Jet fans at least that
(12:06):
would determine do we really want this guy? We have
to pay an insert amount?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, I think that when you look at this from
a draft capitol standpoint, you're probably in that range of
that second to third round type of compensation. And if
we're just looking at contracts, I think that the Michael
Pittman Junior Deebo Samuel range is probably about where you're
looking at a Jacobi Meyers contract. I mean, you're talking
about twenty three to twenty five million dollars per year
(12:34):
as your number two wide receiver. It's a twenty eight
year old who is clearly on the uptick and on
the ascent in his career. Trajectory. And if you're the Jets,
if you're serious about building an offense that can contend,
that can be a complimentary force to the defense that
you've built, you need competent NFL caliber wide receivers, which
(12:56):
right now the Jets have about one of. Right, So
I think that when you look at bringing Jacob Myers in,
if you could fit that twenty four million dollar salary,
if you can pry them away for a third round pick,
I think that's the deal that Daryl Muughlin the Jet
should probably jump on.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Yeah, there's no question about Again. We have our NFL
insider extraordinary Matt Lombardo here on the show, and let's
get into that general manager you were just talking about, baby,
Darren Mouji. He has been working on some interesting trades
the last couple of weeks and one of the things
that's in the headline of this video Wait a second,
Jets beat out Chiefs for Brown's trade. I wrote a
(13:30):
piece about it, and there's a full article on the
YouTube description down below. And we also have more Raffle
tickets coming in. I'll get to that, I promise in
just a second here. But the thing that was very
interesting that came out from the chief side of things
is so all right, let's try to rewind and set
all this up. So Juwan Briggs was the first defensive
tackle to be moved that the Jets acquired. So they
(13:51):
acquired this guy and really just a late round pick swab.
The Jets moved back a little from the sixth to seventh,
and then the Jets get the young defensive tackle Jawan
Briggs from the Cleveland Browns. Well, apparently the Chiefs were
second in line on that trade to also acquire Juwan Briggs,
but the Browns took the Jets offer instead of the Chiefs. Now,
(14:12):
the reason why they took it doesn't seem incredibly surprising.
The Jets have won a lot of Super Bowls. The
Jets have stunk, so the Browns are like, the Jets
pick's probably going to be higher, which, by the way, hey,
no disrespect, totally understand, but whatever, for whatever reason they
picked it. The Jets win that trade against the Chiefs.
Chiefs are now looking for a defensive tackle of their game,
damn it. The Jets beat us to Juwan Briggs, all right,
(14:32):
and then the Jets end up being the team that
the Chiefs turned to. So the Jets win twice because
of Darrenmugi won. They get Jawan Briggs, the player they wanted,
and they got to flip Derek Noddy two back to
the Chiefs, which wouldn't have happened if the Chiefs acquired Briggs,
they wouldn't have needed Noddy anymore. So the Jets got
a nice little double dip win here from Darren Mugi,
which benefited very nicely because Richman and his Flight Deck
(14:54):
podcast this week said scouts told him that Derek Noughty
looked washed with the Jets during training camps. You could
get anything for Derek Natty, a washed guy, which the
Jets you were able to benefit from that trade. That's
a next level GMing there from the first time general
manager Darren Mouji. Matt Lombardo, Oh, no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
And I think that what you're seeing here is that
franchises across the league saw what the Philadelphia Eagles have
done in terms of building dominance along both lines of scrimmage,
particularly along the interior. When you look at guys like
at Jalen Carter and like a Jordan Davis, two dominant
presences along the interior defensive line, and the Mouji went
(15:33):
out and he got a really young, intriguing talent to
drop along that defensive line. And Paul, I think Jowan
Briggs is going to contribute immediate, meaningful snaps for that
Jets defense. Had a seventy one point two Pro Football
Focus overall grade last year. He's a top thirty run defender.
And when you look around the landscape just in the
(15:54):
AFC East, you're gonna have to contend with guys like
James Cook, You're gonna have to contend with guys Trevion
Henderson and Ramande Stevenson in New England. You need to
stop the run if you're the Jets. And if you
look at what the Detroit Lions did really well, it
was winning up run along the defensive line when Aaron
Glenn was there. So this is just borrowing another page
(16:15):
of the Detroit Lions playbook. And here's the big thing, Paul.
He's only twenty three years old, and there's a lot
of depth along that Cleveland Brown's defensive line. They're happy,
they're confident in what they have. So Briggs becomes a
bit of a luxury piece for them. But if you're
the Jets, can Jewan Briggs be that player who becomes
the complimentary force alongside at Quinnon Williams. You know, he's
(16:38):
a young, ascending player on a team that wants to
get young, wants to build once to win while building.
This could be one of those trades that if the
Jets do surprise to the upside, you might look back
in January and say that the acquisition of Juwan Briggs
was a big reason.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Why.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Oh baby, that's what I love to hear. That's what
I love to hear. NFL insider Matt Lombardo, you, handsome master,
this is the kind of intel we need. And here
is what else we need. It's these raffle tickets, Matt,
because we are giving away some premium access to between
the hash marks. Matt has opened his pantry to us animals.
He may regret it in the future, but it's too
(17:14):
late now. Mother f and ch just gifted a boy
Green Coffee Club membership. Here we go. You're sending Matt
Lombardo on his washing machine through this spin cycle with
godsakes for all these memberships coming in, which is terrific.
Let's get one more membership shout out in here that
I see it's from our boy Stocky five two eight.
(17:35):
Let's get another membership in right, both of you got
your normal raffle tickets to contest or Stocky you know
have one in MFC twenty one raffle tickets so far
this month, so thank you very much. By the way,
these two new memberships went to Kicking Pickles for six
three two that's creative, and MFC's went to Lawrence Yance
(17:59):
MFC Stocky for that matter. You guys also just got
a one month free trial of Between the hash Marks,
the premium edition for our NFL insider Extraordinary Matt Lombardo.
So all you guys will have to do. I'll throw
it back here on the screen and also reiterate it
for the people that may just be joining us in
the room. The special that we're running today is just
reach out to me via email with your email I
(18:20):
guess basically that will just do it or on any
form of social media at boy Green two five on
the discord. If you guys are a member of the
Boy Green Coffee Club already, just let me know whatever
your email is for every raffle to get spent today.
So we have number one Oustrion Jets Fan, NC Green,
MFC Stocky. You guys each have received one month free

(18:41):

paying the premium price for Matt Lombardo's insights or if not,
it'll be up to you guys to determine it. And
I feel confident enough and obviously Matt does two that
(19:02):
when you look around the house and my are like, yeah,
I think I'm going to move in, and you will
have the opportunity to do so. Baby. So guys, just
all I'll need from you to make this dream a
reality is for you to give me your email whatever
that is that will be associated here with your account.
No credit card needed. As Matt Lombardo already said again,
he's giving away for every Raffle ticket spent today, and
(19:23):
today's the last day to submit Raffle tickets for this
month's contest, which again every item right here will go
to one lucky person. All these items, one person vintage
Jets player T shirt, mins Super Bowl three flip Cooin
Loco Athletic Primeity T shirt, and a kickoff kitchen cookbooks.
All of that available, baby, So thank you everyone that's
submitted so far.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
By the way, Paul, by the way, insider knowledge for you.
The cookbook that you're giving away. When I was on
the Eagles beat when I worked for NJ dot com,
that was during a really magical era because the Eagles
allowed the beat reporters to eat in the Eagles cafeteria.
So I have eaten and I didn't realize this, so
I saw a promoted on TV the book. The food
(20:08):
that is in that cookbook, I can tell you is spectacular.
Just the turkeys alone that they serve around Thanksgiving time.
I wanted to hire them to cater my Thanksgiving dinner.
So if the turkey recipe is in there, you're in
for a real treat. Some of the pastas that are
in there, As a man whose name ends in a vowel, spectacular,
So you're going to want to order? Are you going
(20:30):
to want to buy those raffle tickets just to win
the cookbook? I can personally attest to the quality of
the dishes that are in that cookbook because I have
eaten many of them in the Eagles cafeteria back in
the day.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
There you go a first hand experience on the Chim
Lopez many. We did an interview with Jim Lopez a
couple of weeks ago. Very nice man. I've not tried
is food yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I
do have a copy of that cookbook over at the house,
and see Green asking, boy Green, how close are you
eight thousand subscribers? Where seventy six subscribers away from eight
thousand and were closing in on three million views, which
(21:03):
is unbelievable success. So thank you to everybody out there
in the universe. That's the only reason it's possible. So
a big salute to you guys. So we talked to
kobbe Myers. We talked about Darren Moujie and getting that
and here was another one that I found fascinating. Now,
of course I have personal ties to this man, so
you know, I had my own selfish biased interest. But
(21:24):
the New York Jets, it has been confirmed by multiple
reporters the Jets had interest in quarterback Tommy DeVito. He
started the offseason as the fourth quarter on the Giants
roster they were always unlikely to keep, for he was
the one that was or well after the draft any way,
they got that fourth. Obviously, with Jackson Dark it always
seemed like he was the most likely guy to shake
free based on the contractual situations. Thinks that nature he
(21:47):
was waived by the Giants, he was subject to waivers.
Apparently the Jets were very interested. I was confirmed by
Zach Rosenblatt of the athletic and connec use of SNY
and I also heard a few whispers. But now that
all that those pieces are together, the Jets wanted him.
They never had a chance. Waiver wire claim is based
on the twenty twenty five NFL draft order. Through the
first month of the season, Patriots had the fourth overall
(22:09):
waiver wire. Jets only had seven, so it never got
a chance. Tommy DeVito ends up in New England. Now
there's nothing to talk about because Tommy DeVito is on
the Patriots fifty three man roster, so the quarterback is
already stolen. But what it says to mean that is,
wait a second here, if they were willing to look
at a quarterback like Tommy DeVito, that must mean that
they don't feel great about Tyrod Taylor, who has been
(22:30):
injured and he has not practiced since late July. We're
closing up on the season here a week from today,
as a matter of fact, so if they're doing their
homework on other quarterbacks, that could give us a hint
about the current health status when Tyrod Taylor. The Jets
say their cove is going to be ready, but the
action speaks sometimes louder than words. So matter there any
quarterbacks out there in the Grand Universe, it can't be
(22:52):
Tommy DeVito anymore that the Jets could sort of circle
the wagons for and see if someone is worth bringing in.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Yeah, Paul, you and I talked about the Tommy DeVito
possibility a few weeks ago when you were just looking
down the depth chart of the Jets quarterback room looking
at what the Giants had in that building. So I'm
not the least bit surprised that they tried to make
that waiver claim there. But you're at the time of
year now where you know you're looking at practice squad quarterbacks,
so that is what you're looking for. And I agree
(23:21):
with you that if the Jets put in a waiver
claim on Tommy DeVito that telegraphs some real worry and
some real concern about Tyrod Taylor and his ability to
be the backup quarterback. Win Week one kicks off on
Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think there's two names
that are kind of interesting just looking around the practice
squads of other teams. Bailey Zappy would be a name
(23:42):
that I would keep an eye on. He's currently on
the Cleveland Browns practice squad, and you know, Zappi is
still a guy that you know you're not going to
get someone you're going to feel great about starting twelve
games a year if necessary. But he's still a young
guy with some upside. But more importantly, he gives you
some intel about Josh McDaniels and the Patriots offense from
(24:04):
their time together, which you find might find useful in
those games coming up this year. He's appeared in fifteen games,
so he's not somebody who's going to wilt under the
pressure of, you know, being forced into action. Sixty percent passer,
He's only twenty six years old. Zappi would be a
name that I would keep an eye on, and you know,
Jets fans might not enjoy this one. But Trevor Simeon
(24:25):
a reunion with him. It was in the building in
twenty twenty three. Again, you're talking about a backup quarterback,
a journeyman, someone with NFL experience. This isn't a developmental prospect,
but it's a break the glass type of player that
if something happens to justin fields, you feel comfortable putting
him in there for a series or two, a game
(24:46):
or two that he's going to be able to hand
the ball off to Brilan Allen, Breese Hall and not
you know, shrink to the moment, so to speak.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Hey, there's nothing I could say after that face that
just gave when you mentioned the name Trevor Shimian. You
braced us. You started off with, hey man, this is
going to be Patrick Mahomes. It sort of is what
it is. You have to accept the names that are
available at this stage to the opt seas and so,
hey man, it is what it is. This is where
the Jets are. But the conversation I can't remember at
(25:16):
some point this week for sure about if the Jets
were looking at Tommy DeVito and it had been confirmed
they are, What are you looking for in the QB three.
Is it a guy who can step up in a
pinch and just help you if somehow injuries befall the
position or is it developmental Because the answer to that question,
I think provides you a lot of the times with
different quarterback options depending on where the Jets are trying
(25:38):
to swim in the waters. Right, Like a Coyle mccorder
was waived by the Eagles, they were able to successfully
bring back to the practice squad versus as you mentioned
at Trevor Simon, who has played a lot of NFL
football before and has won games, so he's not your
future Free Chise quarterback. Sorry Trevor Simien and the Simeon
family for catching a few strays here on the shovel,
but that's just not going to happen. So it's but
(25:59):
it is that conversation.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Yeah, I think right now, Paul, I mean you're almost
looking at a break the glass back up at least
for the next couple of weeks. I mean, if Tyrod
Taylor can't go, I mean you're pretty thin, right, You're
pretty thin quarterback behind Justin Field, So you won somebody
at this stage of the season to just get by.
If Justin Fields gets hurt. Somebody that you can put
(26:23):
in there and feel confident that they're not going to
be the reason why you lose the football game long term. Ideally,
if you're looking at this from a quarterback three standpoint,
I don't know that you feel great about practice squad
options from other teams as your developmental potential quarterback in
the future, potential future trade chip, somebody who you feel
(26:44):
young good about being a young guy in your building
that can eventually be the QB too. But I think
that right now your goal is we need somebody healthy
to step on the field because they're a chin strap
hit away from justin fields being down. So that's why
I look at names like Zappi and sameon who have
passed NFL experience that you can put in there and
(27:05):
feel okay about getting you through a game or two.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
No question. Again, we're as Steven Fox Fox Sports Talk
on our YouTube channel pointed out, we're a week away
from the season opener for the Jets and Steers. There's
going to be a lot of coverage, including Matt of
course you joining us for a game day. Those are
going to be so special. So I really appreciate how
generous you've been with your time throughout the summer and
what it will be of course for the fall and
getting ready for that. So, Matt, do you have any
(27:30):
notes and quotes, anything to share as we sort of
start officially. I know it's like when the team is
a number one pick, they're on the clock for months.
So we've all been thinking about this Jets Stealers game
for months. But now that it's officially quote unquote game week,
what anything can you share about this Jet Steers Week
one game.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Yeah, I'm really fascinated by this game, actually, Paul, and
there are two reasons why. One, I love the matchups
strength on strength Sauce Gardner against DK Metcalf. I'm really
excited for to get your Pope ready type of a
game within the game between those two star players.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
And I think that we're going to.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Find out a lot about where this Jets defensive line
is because not only are you going to get a
look at Harrison Phillips, not only going to get a
look at Jawan Briggs, but you're going to see some
of the different blitz concepts and pressure plays we didn't
see out of Aaron Glenn during the preseason when they
were running a very vanilla defense. You're going to get
to see that against a bottom third offensive line in
(28:26):
the Pittsburgh Steelers. They're young, they've invested a lot of
draft capital up front over the last couple of years,
but those pieces still need to come together, and they're
blocking for a quarterback who is a shell of a
shell of his former self in Aaron Rodgers, not necessarily
as mobile even as he was last season or three
years ago before the injury, just from what I saw
(28:47):
during that training camp practice when I was in Latrobe
a couple of weeks ago. So I'm excited to see
what the Jets defensive line is able to do from
a pressure perspective. And I just kind of sneakily really
like this match for the Jets to kick off the
Aaron Glenn era in New York.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Hey. By the way, Rich Simini dropped this at the
bottom of his column. Did you know Aaron Rodgers, who
is set to face the Jets and the season opener,
has lost three straight Week one starts. If you take
out twenty twenty three, and we have the baseball thing,
if you started the game, technically, you get the win.
So if we removed that weird role from the rule book.
As Rich Samiti has pointed out here, Aaron Rodgers lost
(29:25):
three straight Week one starts and he didn't play it
well in any of them. All of those games were
sub twittered yard passing games, one touchdown, four picks. So
Aaron Rodgers has struggle consistently if you look over this
modern stretch of time heading into these Week one. So
maybe maybe a great opportunity for the NYJ. Matt again,
(29:47):
it was so cool you did this, And again let's
give another shout out to the number one auction jet fan,
NC Green, MFC, and Stockey. You guys all benefited from
submitting Raffle tickets for our final day of Raffle tickets

Cowboys Eagles game will have already happened, more college football
games will have already happened, and we're going to kick off,
of course, the start of the twenty twenty five Jets season. Matt,
thank you for taking the time. Brother can't wait. All

(32:19):
the best, baby, one of our favorites. He's going to
join us every Sunday moving forward, and more times than not.
If you look at the Jet schedule, that means that
will most likely be game day episodes. There's a few
occasions where that will be the case. Monday night football,
Thursday football, and thinks of that nature. But I'm very
much looking forward to it. I see this comment from
DJ Dirty Couch, He's like, where's Pops. I need to
(32:40):
fleece him on a trade. Oh more fantasy trades. Yes,
let's give two shoutouts here, one to the fantasy football
draft last night for the Double Espresso Shot League and
Boy Green Coffee club Land. We have our other one today.

warm shout out to Matt Lombardo who joins us every Sunday.

raffle tickets. That's terrific. And speaking of those raffle tickets,
let's get right into that pop as you were on
your team Zden zone gear there, let's do this. Someone
(34:25):
asked about this earlier and I do want to bring
this up. This is from my boy Eric Orango. Yes,
this was it. He had a special shout I wanted
to save it for my pop. So hang on tight.
He's been a member for eleven months on the channel.
Thank you so much, he said, good morning, boy Green.
Let's remind everyone to donate four our veterans and we
will do that right now. Eric, thank you so much
(34:47):
for that shadow and looking forward to I don't know
if you remember, but Eric Rango and his dad were
the Jets Cowboys fans who were sitting with last year.
They're back again and they're coming to the meet and
greet the night before. So Eric Junior and Senior, we
look forward to seeing you guys again this year. That'll
be great. But let's do that to kick off our conversation.

some reason, you guys can reach out. We can try
to work out something else as well, because ultimately this
is for charity and that's what's most important. But Pop,
first off, how you doing. And secondly, if you can
also talk about here the special quality and why it
(35:56):
means so much to you for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
Hey now, oh, good morning from Vermont, the Green Mountain State,
Green Jets Green.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
I appreciate you planning our trip here solely for that reason.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Yeah, yeah, that's right. So, yeah, we take an opportunity.
We try to do something annually, and this is our
annual trip to annual hop on Pop Wounded Warrior. It's
going to be We've had raffles in the past, but
other things this way kept strictly the opportunities not to

top donator will get a special prize pack. So we
(36:56):
want to come on that soon, all.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Right, beautiful, So guys think, thank you so much for
all the support thus far. Pop. I know we don't
have it over here on this it's on a different computer.
But what we'll sort of round up here. Where are
we at numbers wise for the contributions to this hop
on Pop Wounded Warrior Project?
Speaker 4 (37:13):
Yeah, we're right. We're sitting right under seven hundred dollars
so far. So thank you very much to the Coffee Club.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
And specifically just to explain that that Wounded Warrior Project
raffle that I'm throwing back up here on the screen
real quick. This goes through all the way through Saturday,
October fourth, through midnight that is the night before the
Jets Cowboys game. So this raffle is going on for
a while, so we have some time to hopefully continue
to build up those fun So iful, we get over
one thousand dollars ultimately, that would be a really cool
(37:41):
number for me if we could get there. The more
the merrier quite frankly, that'd be great. Specifically for this
raffle which we talked about earlier. This raffle ends today,
So today's your last data submit raffle to get you
if you want all these awesome prizes on the screen
or to have a chance at them, and me and
Pop will draw that winner tomorrow to kick off the show,
which will be a lot of fun. So, guys, if
(38:02):
you want to get in on this Super Bowl three
mint coin flashed and twenty four car gold, the special
edition coin, the Cookoff Kitchen cookbook donated by Bad Show,
really appreciate that, Jets Prime Athletic Houddie and a vintage
Jets player T shirt will draw that winner. And then
when I get back from Vermont back to New York,
I'll immediately hit you guys up for address information on
whoever ends up winning that prize to talk about it
(38:25):
Pop before we get into our continued Jets season predictions here,
I see we have a couple other things popping up
here on the channel, And salute to Darren Mouji and
all the work he's been doing. I see we have
a super chat which I will highlight here on the
screen real quick. Appreciate that. Thank you A Mitch one
(38:51):
eight four one a ten dollars super chat coming in.
Thank you. My question is in the chat go jets
also a Mitch. We'll also grant you access to the
one month free premium of between the hash marks. So
if you can just reach out, I will make sure
that we get your email and you will get that
for a month. You won't have to give your credit
(39:11):
card information, so that'll just be good for you to grab.
I'll grab. I see that your question is above this
super chat, so thank you for sending that along. So
let me get that up here on the channel right.
I saw it was about Aaron Glenn here, so I
will highlight that here in just a moment. All right,
(39:34):
it's right here here it is. Okay, BG, do you
think Aaron Glenn is a bias against a wide receiver
position because he played cornerback? Thanks? You know it is. Well,
here's the thing I would say, and Phillium has said
this a lot, so I'll give Phillium the shout out here.
You can't solve every position in a single off season.
(39:55):
This is Aaron Glenn's first whack at the pinata. And yes,
there was a lot of needs. Defense, attack, quarterback, wide receiver,
for offensive line, I mean, linebacker, death, defensive end, I
mean we keep there's a million needs. The Jets couldn't
have possibly solved them all in a single off season.
So no, I don't believe it's some bias for a
g he wants the best team possible. And and as
(40:19):
Aaron Glenn has said often when he was back in
Detroit at the very end, and now that he's been
here with the Jets, he doesn't just want to be
labeled a cornerback or a defensive guy or offensive guy.
He's a head coach and that's what his label said.
So I don't think there's any bias there. I know
Jet fans are upset that the wide receiver position beyond
Garret Wilson isn't more improved. Hell, I would love it too.
Rich Simini this morning said Jacobe Myers the name to watch.
(40:40):
So maybe the Jets will get froggy before the season.
But no, I don't think it's some sort of bias
based on his previous position.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Yeah, I would offer to anyone and you can answer
this question, because I think I have answered. But off
the top of my head, who did we have last
year going into the season that was on the team
that was a wisbang wide receiver? Well that is not
so who was it last year that were missing this year?
(41:10):
So that's a good question and multi layered. I would
say the first part of what you said that you know,
what they thought was going to be a better guy
was of course Alan Lazard, and he wasn't. So he's
still here for now, I guess. So that's one guy
that they thought was going to be competent. DeVante didn't
trade for until Week seven, so he wasn't a part
(41:31):
of the equation at that point. But I think the thing,
and I will reiterate this, that I was wrong about.
So I was an advocate for getting Devonte Adams to
the Jets. What I wrongly assessed was that DeVante would
come in here and be the robin to Garrett Wilson's batman.
They'd be a very really talented receiver that would obviously
(41:51):
draw coverage and all kinds of things away from Garrett.
But what I miscalculated was is that the pre existing
relationship between DeVante and and forced a lot of targets
DeVante's way that took away from Gettt literally and you know,
put him in a position, excuse me, where he suffered
(42:13):
because of the DeVante Thingcuse then he was getting ignored
in different positions. So it all just turned bad.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Bringing the ex girlfriend into the relationship just made things
a lot worse. Now, Davante personally individually had a lot
of statistical success. But I think what really the Jets
are looking for after the last year of failure of
the DeVante thing is the Jets I think at some
point need a competent wide receiver too. It doesn't have
to be a Terry McLaurin, it doesn't have to be
(42:39):
a superstar wide receiver, but just someone who is good
enough to draw attention away from your number one receiver.
I don't believe the Jets currently have that on the team.
Maybe Ariot Smith is inct role, maybe someone steps up
to the plate, but that would be I would say
my miscalculation from last year.
Speaker 4 (42:54):
Yeah, I would just share that I think we are
in a comparable or better position than we were last year. Right,
we have essentially the same wide receivers. Instead of Malachi Corley,
we have Arion Smith. Right. The difference is at the
tight end position, you have someone that has the ability
to catch.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
The ball more.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
So, I don't we're up in arms about the wide
receiver thing. I don't think it's as bad as you know.
It's not like asking missus Lincoln how you like to play.
I don't think it's as bad as that. So I
just throw that out there that you know, we get
a lot of passion around the wide receivers. I think
we may have somebody in the cupboard and Wizard still
(43:35):
has a heartbeat. So I don't think it's as bad
as we make it out.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Add that on.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
So we were looking to throw the ball around the
yard last year, right with one of the highest yardage
totals by a quarterback in Jet's history last year in
the top five, I think, maybe top three. And we're
not going to do that this year. So if we're
able to do that with who we had in the room,
even in the first half a dozen games before Devonte game,
and I don't think where as bad off as you think,
(44:02):
because that's.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
Not the game we're to be playing this year. By
the way, AMH with your ten dollars super check, you
got yourself three raffle tickets if you spend two hours
before the end of the show, you'll get a fourth
Raffle ticket that is up to you. Also, like I said,
you will be granted one month premium access to between
the hashmark. All I will need at some point is
your email. So thank you very much. And for DJs
asking what part of Vermont we're in, we're in Westover.
(44:25):
West Over is where we're at, right, Pop.
Speaker 4 (44:27):
Yeah, right outside right nearby brown Leborough where the Esgen.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
Zone was founded. There you go. There's a statue or
a signed somewhere when you drive into the city to
see it, which is pretty pretty neat all right, everybody, Well,
thank you so much for the questions of comments. So far,
we have four hundred plus people in the room. Like
the video hit subscribe. Pop, let's continue with our season prediction.
If you guys missed it yesterday, what we're doing is
(44:52):
and we will do this both today and tomorrow to
finish it up. Here. Pop is going through the Jet schedule,
analyzing it with some notes nugg it's information whatever, and
then picking wins and losses, and by the end of
the show tomorrow our record will be blee blab blue.
We thought the Jets are gonna go eight to nine,
and here's the reasons why, and let's go. Then. Of
(45:12):
course we're going to officially turn the page of Jets
Steelers week. So we did the first four games yesterday
to recap. Pop, you had them going two and two.
I had them going three and one. We won't have
to recap every layer of it going through, but yes,
you had them two and two, I had them three
and one. And now we will head to the week
five game, both literally and figuratively for the Jets Cowboys game.
(45:33):
So let's start there, Pop, We'll let you start this
one off Jets Cowboys. This's at MetLife Stadium for the
New York Jets. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:42):
So I think this is the game on the Cowboys
schedule that they benefit the mode from the Micah Parsons
trade because the Jets are going to look to run
the ball. They now have a Pro Bowl run stuffer
in the middle.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
Right.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
I think this is the game, one of the top
games that's gonna stretch the secondary of the Jets, which
is the strength of the defense with the weapons that
the Cowboys have with pickins, ceed Lamb and Ferguson. I
think it's the run game. We don't know what it
(46:21):
looks like for the Cowboys this year.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
That's a fact.
Speaker 4 (46:23):
But they're going to throw that ball over the yard,
and I think this is a loss for the Jets.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
All right, Well, you know that's going to happen. You know,
Pop has wrong takes all the time, so I see
that already in the chat. That's obviously absolutely correct. But
I will tell you for this first part is we
put another loss for the Jets for you on your schedule.
Is that some of what you say makes sense Jet predominantly,
(46:50):
at least from everything we hear. We heard this last year.
They want to be a run team and then they
were a past team all over the place. So hopefully
they are what they say. They're going to beat Dennis
Green slap the table is that Kenny Clark Jets running football.
That will be more focused on him. However, the disruptive
nature of the two players, when we're talking about that
put aside. That's where I don't know whether it's this Jet,
(47:13):
this Cowboys game, or any of these games, the impact
is just gonna be felt differently. And boy, you just
got to hope that you know, there's other defensive tackles
beyond Kenny Clark. For the Dallas Cowboys that are going
to be able to make an impact for you in
terms of run stuff, And I would say this, it's
going to be the strength on strength for me, is
a Cowboys passing game. They have Cedee Lamb, they have
George Pickens, they have Jalen Tolbert, Jake Ferguson. You're predicting
(47:36):
a bounce back season from in the middle of that offense.
And the Jets pride themselves in their secondary Sauce Gardner,
Brandon Stevens, who's had a wonderful camp by all accounts,
Michael Carter's second, if he's healthy. That's the passing game.
Because if we go back to that last time the
Jets of Cowboys played not at Metli's David, because they've
won the last several of those. I mean, the last
time they played at at and T Stadium, Dak Prescott
(47:59):
had one of his greatest games of all time. He
was able to pick apart the Jets defense and he
was incredibly efficient. So the Jets, if they have any
hopes of winning this game, they need to prevent that
from happening. And that's going to start with the secondary.
To me, So I think it's Jets' secondary against Cowboys
passing offense, and George Pickens gave the Jets a few
problems last year with some of his crazy catches in
(48:21):
that Jet Steelers game last year. I think that's going
to be the key. But no, I totally have the
Jets winning this game. So let's give that a big
fat up there and born one baby. And by the way,
I see we got more super chat action happening here
on the show. Shout out to A Mitch one eight
four to one for some more love. Thanks, Jen's great inside.
(48:42):
Thank you so much, pout appreciate you beautiful. You picked
yourself up. A couple more Raffle tickets are as well,
five in total, baby, So A Mitch, thank you so
much for that, and you will have that for the
Raffle that will be drawing tomorrow. So thank you so
much much for sending those along, my friend, and good
(49:03):
luck with the Raffle tomorrow. It will be all by random,
the random wheel of name Picker. Thank you so much
for contributing to the show with a couple of questions. Buddy,
we really appreciated. So all right, let's keep our schedule.
Prediction conversations going, Bob and what an interesting pack of
stuff here that now the Jets are going to be
headed to London excuse me to play the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 4 (49:26):
Yeah, so this was really this game last year, and
you know, I think most Jet fans will agree with
me that this was this was the turning point of
the season, and not in the good way for the Jets.
This was the one that caught everybody by surprise. They
were able to really play smash mouth football, which we
(49:47):
didn't really see the Shot and Payton coach team. So
it was it was very interesting. They later on the
season they kind of evolved a little bit with a
rookie quarterback, they made it to the playoffs. I mean,
nobody saw that coming for the Denver Broncos. With all
that being said, I don't think the Denver is going
(50:08):
to sneak up on Aaron Glenn. I don't think the
rookie he's not rookie anymore, but their quarterback is going
to have success against his Saron Glenn defense. I had
this as a win for the Jets.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
There you go, getting a win across the pond. I
would say this. Yeah, last year, of course, the ten
nine loss, Greg Zerlin continued to implode the terrible weather
as the Lubie superjetsman told me out in the crowd
for those who were at this game, and that's when
Woody Johnson started talking about the benching of Aaron Rodgers
potentially after this game. And then they interestingly enough, also
(50:45):
headed to London that was for the Vikings games. That's
sort of weird how that ended up working out. From
that perspective, I would say this, I think this is
going to be a loss for the Jets unfortunately, and
while the Bonicks Jet fans saw, we're like, oh the hell.
It made me feel really good because I thought about
it sucked pre draft and then he showed up him
through like twenty passing yards. He couldn't complete a pass.
(51:07):
It was awful, But then he exploded throughout the rest
of the season. This Broncos defense is awesome. They've earned
the nickname the No Name defense because no one knows
who they are. John Gruden tabed them that, yep, see
put all those pieces together name that's it. And they've
got a lot of really talented players on the defense
(51:28):
side of football. They have the reigning Defensive Player of
the Year in PS two. That could give Garrett Wilson
some problems because they may be one of the unique
teams that won't have to double Garrett. They can just
throw PS two over there and then focus the other
guys on the rest of the Jets offense, which I
think could give the Jets and problems because if Garrett
doesn't consistently create separation, especially in a game like this
against the Broncos where you have PS two out there
(51:51):
and no one else is creating separation, Justin Fields is
going to hold on to the ball too long, which
has been a long criticism of Justin Fields in his game,
which will allow the Ronker's pass rusher to get off
after him. So that scares me a lot. So yeah,
unfortunately I have an l in London for the New
York Jets.
Speaker 4 (52:07):
Yeah, so I'm three and three at this point, you're
four and two.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
Sure, yeah, if you want to do it that way, yeah,
but just.
Speaker 4 (52:13):
A quick update, I don't want to do it that way.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
That's what it is. Okay. I was going to wait
every four games, all right, let's go. Okay, the next
game up is the Jets return home. They're playing the
Carolina Panthers. One o'clock Week seven.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
Yeah, and so interestingly enough, this is you know, who
knows what?
Speaker 1 (52:32):
Does Vegas know?
Speaker 4 (52:33):
They build bright, shiny buildings there all the time. There
are only two games in the seventeen games that the
Jets are currently favored to win. Two out of seventeen.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Does I think the odds makers are wrong, but I
thought they were wrong before and lots of much money.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
But anyways, one of them is the Carolina Panthers, which
they are and have been a prime example. The Jets
have not been the worst franchise in recent history. We
have not made bad decisions right. These people make bad
decisions left in right. Carolina Panthers not a good football team.
Speaker 1 (53:11):
They're just bad.
Speaker 4 (53:13):
And I would say the Jets are gonna come back
from London, clean up, take care of business, and this
is definitely a win for the Jets.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Yeah, I'm going to go a little bit of the
opposite of you. I still think the Jets win this game.
But I think Carolina sneaky, man. I think they're going
to be one of those sneaky, feisty teams this year
that's going to be somewhere in the you know, seven
and ten to eight to nine range. Bryce Young ended
the season very strong, and talk about a twist of fate.
He gets benched and it looks like he's going to
(53:42):
be traded. Andy Dalton takes over. Andy Dalton, his family
gets in a car accident, so he can't compete in
the game, so they're forced to go back to Bryce Young.
They have no choice, Alison. Bryce Young flips the switch
and turns it around. So it's crazy the things that happen.
And thankfully Andy Dalton's family was safe, by the way,
as far as that's concerned, minimal injuries out side of
to Andy Dalton as he was doing it. So I
(54:02):
think the Panthers might give the Jets a couple of problems,
but I still think it's a feisty win for the
New York Jets.
Speaker 4 (54:09):
M Yeah, yeah, yeah, you get some Carolina colored classes.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
I don't know what's the matter with you. All Right, Well,
let's go to a different animal that maybe you'll prefer.
What about the Bengals. This will be in Cincinnati for
the New York Jets, and we gate this is right
before their bye week as they attack the state of Ohio.
They'll take on the Browns after the bye week, so
in Cincinnati one o'clock CBS game. Pop, let's go to you.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
Yeah, this has been a game that you know when
you want to play the Cincinnati Bengals early in the
season because they normally spot the league five games, We're
go on five and then you know it might work.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
Out for it. It could happen, but unfortunately it's not.
Speaker 4 (54:49):
This is what we ate, ye, this is wek gate
in strength on strength, and I think their strength is
greater the passing off. So the Cincinnati Bengals, really nobody
is better in the league, and they are going to
challenge put the Jets to the test, and I really
(55:12):
that and the the second highest paid non quarterback in
the NFL is going to introduce himself to justin fields
and justin fields.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
To the ground.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
So I think this is a loss for the New
York Football Jets.
Speaker 1 (55:28):
Unfortunately, don't worry, Trey Hendrickson is not that category. Just
spoke of if he ended up only signing a one
year deal for yeah, for a thirty one million, I
thought you're talking about Jamar Chase because that would have
been a non quarterback player that could have been causing
some issues there. Yeah, this is going to be incredibly difficult. Now,
the Jets offense should be going through this Bengals defense
(55:50):
like a hot knife through butt. But the other side
of it, that Bengals offense is pretty explosive. They pay
t Higgins, they paid Jamar Chase. Chase Brown is a
super underrated running back. Brows coming off an insane season.
And the Bengals strategy last year, which to score more
points than their opponents easier said the none because their
defense was terrible and so they did not win most
(56:10):
of those games. But unfortunately, I think the Bengals score
more than the Jets can keep up with unfortunately, so
I find that is another loss for the New York Jets,
this one against the Bengals. At this point the season,
we're eight weeks through, which is a perfect stopping point.
We're gonna keep going, but I just want a stopping
point of the season. It's perfectly in the middle. You
have the Jets at four and four pop here heading
(56:31):
into their week nine by while I have them a
little bit better at five and three.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
It's pretty close, pretty close. It's a good time for
a bye week for them. You know, there's you know,
advocates late early whatever. I think middle is a good
spot to be. You definitely don't want that week five
week bye. That's the week five by. That's no bueno.
Speaker 1 (56:52):
And as we talked about Blake Jones, he's the NFL
Senior Director of Broadcasting, I do an interview with someone
from the NFL talk about the schedule year that the
Jets obviously had a London game in here in week six,
and I said, is it guaranteed if a team wants
to buy after their London game? Does that still exist?
He said, no, They can make a strong suggestion and
we could try to work with them, but that doesn't
(57:14):
always happen. All right, let's keep moving this along. Pob
He said, you want to go to the Patriots game?
Speaker 4 (57:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (57:19):
How many were that would be two games?
Speaker 4 (57:21):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (57:22):
Okay, so let's go to This is week ten again
because Week nine is to buy. So Week ten it
is a home game against the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 4 (57:30):
This is the second game the Jets are favored to win.
Nice again, another team that puts the D in dysfunctional?
He and pathetic.
Speaker 1 (57:42):
You know who knows who's gonna be the quarterback? Right?
Speaker 4 (57:45):
Are they gonna wheel out one of the Jets old favorites.
You know, Joe Flacco is gonna get you know, he's
gonna do his walker out to the field or By
the way, I watched my first NFL game was the
Bears and the Patriots, not the Super Bowl, just to
be yeah, this was this was well before that, and
both of them were peyton pathetic. But I did watch
(58:09):
John Grogan pick his walker out to the field to
the huddle, and I didn't know who won the game.
It was old Foxboro Stadium. I just remembered that both
teams sucked and the stadium wasn't very impressive.
Speaker 1 (58:23):
But anyways, I digress. So this game, yeah, is.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
Going to be interesting. We don't know who the quarterback
is going to be. It's middle of the season. I
think this is definite win for the New York Jets.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
Definite win.
Speaker 4 (58:43):
There is a tough defense on Cleveland. That's that's where
their strength is their defense. But I think the Jets
defense will overcome whatever quarterbacks with the Jets out of
the Brown excuse me, I think this is definite win
for the New York Jets.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
By the way, did you mean Steve Grogan? Stay see,
I should have given you immediate crap because I'm pretty
I was like, doesn't it in my head? Doesn't Steve Grogan,
I'm like, well, give me a quick discount, double check.
Speaker 4 (59:07):
All right, come on, you're you're very smart with all
the answers to your hands.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
Well, I show it beforehand. But any who, that's that's
neither here nor there. All right. Yeah, it's a win
for the Jets. Come on, Cleveland stinks. Uh, they're gonna
if it's Joe Flacco or one of the two inexperienced rookies.
Dylan Gabriel can't ride the highest ride at the local
state fair. He's too short, and did you make finding
(59:31):
somebody for being short vertically challenged? Hey man? And then
obviously on the other Shedur Sanders. Who knows if, if
and when he's going to get his opportunity as the
current QB three on that team. So that's a win.
You also had him for a win there, pop, Yes,
I went first, Yes, yep, we just making sure you
were just that Anders is going to be on the
(59:51):
fifty three man roster that weekd what what what would
change about that? He's on the fifty three man roster
right now?
Speaker 4 (59:58):
Yeah, everybody's on the fifty three mans at only a right, But.
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
That's neither here nor there. All right, let's go to
week eleven. Here, this is gonna be a short week
for the Jets, a Thursday night football game, their second
primetime game of the season, only other primetime game of
the season. This is the short week against New England
Patriots in New England. Week eleven.
Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
Pop, it's in New England.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
It is?
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
Yeah, that was wasn't last year where we go to
the game?
Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
Was that a primetime game? That was Thursday night football?
And hey, I want to pat myself on the back.
I love doing that. We did the schedule predictions with
me and Moody and I thought my two predictions for
primetime games was I thought they would do the opposite
they gave Jets the home thursdaynight football game. I predicted
that they'd flip it the other way, and they did
so boo.
Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
I won nothing from that, but I just wanted to
point that out that I did it. So yeah in
New England, so THURSDA night football game. So I just
they did just flip.
Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
At the year to the master of taking a random
guess and being right, well.
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
I got I got like five of the seventeen games raw.
That's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
Congratulations, Thank good, Jege. Yeah, so the last game we
went to Thursday night, that was the one where we
could literally touch the sky. Right behind us was the
wall of the stadium and there was no one sitting
behind us.
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
You know, it was very nice. There's none behind us
because no one could be behind us. Well again this year,
I will be sitting in section two twenty eight A.
So thank you so much to New York Jets. By
the way, for everyone that's going to that game, we'll
be sending out transferring tickets said this is a coming
week to just stay tuned to whatever your email you
provided it was, and you should be getting ticket transfers
which you will have to accept and you can add
(01:01:38):
your wallet. More on that later, but yes to twenty
eight in this will be the first game. This is
gonna be.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
I believe this is a John Madden. Is it Steve Madden?
Oh that's a purse guy, John Madden. This is gonna
be a slaughter knocker. This is gonna be You've got
Mike Vrabel right, there's gonna be some so my gouging
in the trenches on this one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
This is gonna be a tough game.
Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
By this time, we'll know really what each team identity is.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
You know, we we think we know now.
Speaker 4 (01:02:11):
But two rookie head coaches right coming in, two defensive minded.
You know, one's a linebacker, one's a cornerback. It's gonna
be interesting how how they're at in mid season. But
I think it's gonna be close knowing, not knowing what
everything is exactly gonna look like. I do believe I'll
(01:02:32):
give the nod to the Jets.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
Okay, yeah, another win there you go. Beautiful. Yeah to me.
I think the New ENGL Patriots Tournament was overrated teams
in football this year. I just don't understand. Last year
it was consensus they're a bottom five team of football,
a bottom five roster football. One offseason. Boo yah, this
team's gonna be winning ten eleven games. I don't know
how he got from point A to point B. Mike
(01:02:55):
rob was a great coach. A lot of Jet fans
wanted it, myself included. I thought that would have been
cool to stick it to the Patriots and take their
guy from them, and he's a multi time Coach of
the Year. Thought that would have been great. But while
he's a good coach, he cannot turn water into wine.
It's going to take time for the Patriots to turn
it around. They made a lot of investments, free agency,
trade all over the place. But I think it's going
(01:03:17):
to be a process. I think the Jets are gonna
win this game, and we'll talk about tomorrow's episode about
the second matchup. I think New England is completely overrated.
I just don't understand all the hubbub and hype. It
just feels a little aggressive at this point. Is this
is where we're gonna park this key strip? Op, Let's
see one more. Okay, Let's okay, Let's go to Week twelve.
(01:03:38):
This is perhaps the most difficult game on the entire
New York Jets schedule. It's Week twelve in Baltimore against
the Ravens, who, as Anthony Prohaskets old Us are Buffalo
Bill's analyst on the MC show digital channel, he thinks
tore the best team in football, and it's hard to disagree.
They have Lamar Jackson, a multi time MVP, and an
awesome roster and a great coaching staff. So tough challenge
(01:03:59):
here for the jam Yeah, it is tough.
Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
I just this the reason I wanted to go ahead
and do this one because it's going to be a
short prediction. I don't see the Jets. You know, they
will have had some runtime. You know, it takes time
to build a team. I don't think the Jets are
gonna be ready for the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
This is a loss. Yeah, this is just again, as
we've just pointed out, a very difficult challenge on the
road against one of these primo teams. Now, the Jets
have had a nice history of winning games that they
shouldn't have and you know, losing games that they shouldn't either,
so they've done both ways. So maybe the Jets can pull,
(01:04:43):
you know, wrap it out of the hat. I just
don't see it from that perspective. This team is just
too good in every possible situation. So unless catastrophic injuries befall,
this will just going to be a difficult one. As
we're predicting this out on August thirty first, unfortunately, I
believe that's going to be a loss for the Jets too.
Of the Baltimore Ravens. Here, we're going to have a
(01:05:04):
handful of games left from weeks thirteen through weeks eighteen, respectively.
We're going to do that chamorrow to kick off the
show after picking that raffle winner. Pop, we have six
hundred people in the room, so if you'd like, you
could give another quick shout out here to the Wounded
Warrior Project fifty to fifty raffle.
Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
Yeah, thanks for that, and then we're going to recap
where where you project at right, Yeah, So the wounded
Warriors please if you can great, you know, even anybody
a dollar is fine. Anything we could do to help
the wounded warriors. One hundred percent of the fifty percent.
There's a little anchorman for you. One hundred percent of
the time. It works all the time anyways, fifty percent
(01:05:41):
of the money will go directly the winded warriors. The
rest will go to you fifty three raffle. That happens
all the time at Football Stats. Will probably have one
at the Jets game as a matter of fact, and
realize that the fifty percent is not going to Jets
or the NFL or somebody that doesn't need it. It's
going to the veterans who put themselves on the line
for us.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
Yes, and thank you so much for saying that. So that,
by the way, that Raffle will be going all the
way through Saturday, October fourth couple of Shotster and we'll
recap where we are so far again. Number one Austin
jet Fan, NC Green, MFC Stocky and a Mitch one
eight four to one. You guys each received one month
free access to between the hashmarks. All I need to
give you that access is your email, so you can
(01:06:24):
give me that in a variety of ways. Feel free
to reach out again any social media at boy Green
two five you can email me. If you have access
to the discord, you can do that as well, so
please send that along. I'd love to make sure I
give that to you by giving those emails over to
Matt Lombardo. And of course all the Raffle tickets you
submitted are eligible for this contest as well. Again, we'll
(01:06:45):
drop this winner on the show tomorrow morning to kick
it off. I'm thinking to batchall, by the way, who
donated that kickoff kitchen. Yeah, very nice of him to
do that. That was kind. He didn't have to do that,
so he donated that item along with the other items
that we already have on there. So pop to recap. Basically,
I was going to say the first half. But it's
(01:07:05):
much more than that. Obviously, we've went through the first
twelve weeks of the season. For the last two days,
you have them at six and five. I have them
at seven and four. Yep, that's pretty close.
Speaker 4 (01:07:15):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
Let's just hope.
Speaker 4 (01:07:17):
Unlike last year when I predicted the Jets will go
twelve and five. For those that think I have Jets hatred,
I don't know, twelve and five, six and five. This year,
I'm already over what the biggest betting lines are. I believe.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
I think you're right on the line. It's six and
a half.
Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
Oh I thought it's five and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
Yeah, no, it just bumped up. People have been throwing
money on the Jets apparently, So yeah, we'll just six
and a half now.
Speaker 4 (01:07:38):
So we got six six back left the games ago tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
It's gonna be good.
Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
It's gonna be fun, and let's go Jets.
Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
There you go, folks. Once again, we will not be
opening up the phone lunch today, so my apologies with
have the schedule sort of working here in Vermont. Don't worry.
We'll get back to that. I promise. We've got another
show tomorrow. We'll see if we open up the phone lines.
Nick farre will be joining us at eight o'clock. We'll
do our schedule prediction and in verse. Matt Lemaro joined
us for the first thirty minutes today, then we went
schedule prediction. It'll be vice versa tomorrow. We'll start off
(01:08:09):
with jet scheduled prediction, news nuggets and any notes or
any updates that are coming along and reveal that winner
to our raffle and then we'll get to Nick Faria
to answer any of your questions. You guys can submit
those in the chat tomorrow for Nick Feria. Any final
thoughts pop.
Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
Listen, now take that like button to pound down.
Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
There you go again. We have five hundred and sixty
five people in the room and that is across all
of our social media platform Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Thank
you guys for the support. Also again another reminder for
our fantasy draft and I see a Mitch is going
to be reaching out awesome. Thank you so much, and
again you have your raffle ticket submitted for tomorrow. We
do have the Other Boy Green Coffee Club Fantasy Draft
(01:08:48):
that is live today at three o'clock of the Yahoo
Fantasy Football app. So everyone in the discord I'll send
in another reminder once the show is officially over, So
good luck in your drafting, and yeah, baby, it's going
to be a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
It is. You know what, how'd the draft go last night?
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Phenomenal. They predict me to hav an eleven to three
record and to win the league. So that's only half, right.
Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
Uh. They predicted someone else to go twelve and two,
and that's this guy.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Oh yeah, I forgot. What did they give to the
person as the most regular season wins? Oh right, nothing,
it's wins. If they did, you got an A grade,
I got an a plus grade. Well hey, now okay,
well ne'd alert all right to anybody. But thank you
so much everybody for tuning in. We'll be back on
(01:09:38):
tomorrow morning. Thank you again for the raffle. Took a
shout out to Matt Lombardo for gifting that premium access.
Super cool. He didn't have to do that, as my
dance choking me to death. Sounds like I got to
get off the show here, but thanks everybody for tuning in,
and we'll see you soon again. You can check out
the full article on the YouTube description down below. Take care, everybody,
We'll see you tomorrow on Labor Day. Later
