Speaker 1 (00:04):
Well, a lot transpired yesterday, blockbuster trade involving my dad's team.
The Jets made a few roster moves. We'll talk about that.
And we're now six days away from the start of
the twenty twenty five NFL season. Let's go, Baby, Boy
Green Daily starts now. I'm gonna lose my gash guarded bananas.

(00:25):
Boy Green Daily starts now.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Joints Boy Buggy Day, Buggy Day, Buggy Day.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Do me.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
Put your seatbelts on, getting ready for the ride.

Speaker 6 (00:45):
We're the freaking New York Jets. We're built for the ship.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
What's going on, everybody? I'm paulishen and Junior aka Boy Green.
I'm the New York Jets digital reporter for heavy dot Com.
Welcome to Boy Green Daily, a daily New York Jets
video show, also available wherever you get your podcasts. I'm
wearing the gear. You may say, is a game day.
What's going on here? Well, it's my fantasy football draft
live at a bar. I'll be hosting an event later
tonight and my team Doctor Fields Good. So I have

(01:23):
to make sure I get into uniform immediately, getting ready
for that fantasy draft, getting the right mindset, for this thing.
It should be a lot of fun. Plus we have
our boy Green fantasy football drafts coming up this weekend,
so a lot of hooplah will be happening, There's no
question about it. But good Lord, have mercy. The last
twenty four hours have been interesting. And to help dive

(01:44):
more into it and learn more about it and everything
else in between, we bring on the wonderful author of
that well placebook, Beyond Broadway, Joe, the team that changed football.
Let's bring them in our it in gents, historian Bob Letterer.
You're on a Friday in his normal spot.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
Good morning Bob, Good morning boy Green world.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yes, e Ob, what is.

Speaker 7 (02:10):
Did you talk? Did you talk to your dad last night?

Speaker 1 (02:13):
So a lot of people have asked me about that,
of course, for those who were sleeping under a rock.
The Dallas Cowboys traded superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons to
the Green Bay Packers in exchange for two first round
draft choices and All Pro defensive tackle Kenny Clark. And
I will be honest, I have not spoken to my

(02:33):
father in terms of a call. I was doing a
hard knocks thing for my old high school football team.
We're doing player interviews and talking to the coaches, and
I was watching practice and I was just heading into practice. Bob,
I got the update on K I got the updates
say Parsons was trained. I was like, what the hell?

(02:59):
And then the coach pulled up right by me and said, hey,
you ready for PREX Bo. I'm like, okay, I guess so,
and put the phone back in my pocket. And I
had no idea what he restrained for anything. And I
spent the next three four or five hours doing football activities.
And I got off doing that job and I look
back at my phone. I'm like, what in the world.
And then I got so many texts that said, hey,

(03:20):
is your dad okay? Like, I got texts, I got
Twitter dms, I got Instagram dms, I got Facebook messages.
I have not gotten that many messages about my father
since I've been on this planet. So that was very kind.
To thank you obviously everyone who reached out. Eventually I
did con chat with him over text and he is

(03:43):
looking forward to it because tonight, after that Fantasy Draft
event that I'm doing, Bob, I'm gonna go see my
father in Vermont. I am I am driving immediately after there.
So the next couple of boy, Green dailies will include
my father and oh boy, can't wait for that one.
That one.

Speaker 7 (04:00):
How long is the drive from Syracuse to Vermont?

Speaker 1 (04:03):
About three and a half hours?

Speaker 7 (04:05):
Okay, okay, good. Now, Secondly, there's there's something going on here. Okay, sure,
you have to go to the doctor with your son,
all right, and and Fields gets his toe stepped on
and everything explodes.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yep, yep, that's right.

Speaker 7 (04:22):
And then you had to go out last night, leave
your fiance and your kids yep, and Green Bay gets
Michael Parsons and your phone explodes again. Yeah, ye oh,
there is there's something going on that they call it
karma or what do they call it?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Okay, yeah, there has to be something going on that
when I when I am for long extended periods of
time away from my phone, terrible or good? I mean,
I guess it depends on your perspective. Because a shout
out to rich Semini here last night, and to think
that Jets got two first rounders for Jamal Adams of
strong safety Joe Douglas's finest moment. So salute to Joe

(04:57):
Douglas wherever you are out there, I know you're actually
working for the Eagles now in some roles. So hey,
jelous that Jamal Adams basically had a very similar return.
Obviously we didn't get an all pro defensive lineman in
that deal on Kenny Clark, but we did get Garrett

(05:18):
Wilson has been pretty good and Elijah Tucker. So without
the Jamal Adams trade, that does not happen. So thanks
Jamal Adams. Now on the Raiders, I think, and up Jamal.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
Jamal Adams trade. Those picks in the first round were
way higher than I think. Also true, and the picks
are going to be for Dallas when they get around
the taking Green Bay Green Bay.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yeah, they're a really good organization. That's a good point.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
And and well you know I'm in Chicago, everybody, if
you didn't know that already, Yeah, and taking my shower
this morning. Wow, are the Bear fans upset? Because? Oh right, Actually,
I will tell you there is no there is no competition.
There is no rivalry in any of sports, at least

(06:06):
I don't know anything about soccer, but in American sports
like the Packards and the Bears, nothing comes close to
it that the hate and the rivalry, and you know,
there's nothing like it. So the Bear fans are crying
this morning because green Bay just got a game record. Yeah,

(06:30):
and they really put themselves in a position to challenge Detroit,
you know in the NFC Central and green Bay assued
me that the Bears were thinking that if they could
get Caleb Williams right, that they would be challenging Detroit. Well,
it's kind of a different look.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
This morning, that is for sure. And I would say
for Jet fans, you know, Jet fans maybe out there
in the universe, going, how in the hell should I
feel about this trade? Well, it should be absolutely great news.
Why you play the Dallas Cowboys in the game. We're
all attending Week five Jets.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
That's why.

Speaker 7 (07:04):
And that's why I wanted to know if you talk
to your dad yet, because I figured you would certainly
bring up that.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I have not brought it up to him yet, but Bob,
if he's watched it, yeah, maybe that's what I'm talking about. Oh,
thank God, Because again, if we go back to the
last Jets Cowboys game, me and my father were also
at that one. It was in Dallas, Week two, Zach
Wilson's first start.

Speaker 7 (07:28):
Yippie destroyed the Jets that day.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
God damn Parsons did, and oh my god. And after
that game, Nathaniel Hackett was the offensive Cordner came out
and he walked up to the podium and he talks
once a week, so it's you would think it's very
difficult for a coach that everyone's supposed to be tight lipped,
that they would say anything stupid, But Nathano Hackett always

(07:52):
found a way. So he strolls up to the podium
after the Jets Cowboys game, looks at the media, says,
who have Michael partners yet a little faster than I thought?
And I'm like, what.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
That?

Speaker 1 (08:06):
And of course several times during that game, speaking of
former Boys legend Tyron Smith, they you know, ah god,
it was just a Dwayne Brown. Excuse me, And either way,
they allowed a lot of one on one ops between
Micah Parsons the offense tackle. But if they know, Haga
did that because he didn't think Michael Parsions was fast enough.
And what an idiot. So long story, shirt, I don't

(08:28):
have to worry about Tanna Angstra and having anything stupid.
This safter the Jets Cobbas game. No Michael Parsons to
deal with, so thank god, so jet fanciers should be elated,
especially the ones that are going to the game.

Speaker 8 (08:39):
Michael Parsons is a game wrecker, perhaps the best pass
rusher in all football. He's had at least twelve sacks
in every season he's been in the league, and that's
four years running at least, and it's been more than sax.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Oh, my goodness, gracious, Jetman should be elated. And oh
boyd that my pop's going to be at that game.

Speaker 7 (08:57):
And he talked the other day about just trading for
two and somebody, Oh, Kenny Clark is defensive one.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Oh yes, yeah, but he's not.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
A game rerecord.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah, he's not. Definitely not in the way that Mike is.
They're going to help their run defense, which Jerry Jones
talked about a lot. I was just at that press
conference last night, and so that will help, but that's
sort of a you know, it's again just not the
same impact obviously as Michael Parsons. So we'll see. Jerry
said they got a lot better last night, and I'm like, okay,
I guess we'll see when it comes to week five.

(09:32):
So I see, like Alon says, I have two questions.
Did Boy Green console his daddy yesterday or did he
laugh at his dad after Mike had got thrown out
the door again. Neither, because I did not talk to
him over the phone. It was just simple text messages.
I just said, hey, when do you want to talk
about this? He said, oh, well, we'll hit it over
the weekend. I'm like, all right, and so that will

(09:53):
be coming. So appreciate it. And our number one Austrian
jet fan maybe sending in a super sticker in three
euro which translates good enough for me, and that is
two more raffle tickets for our contest based on your
previous combinations of support. So two hundred eighteen raffle tickets

(10:14):
for our guy number one Oscar and jet fan. Appreciate
you very much and thank you guys for all the
support so far. We have nearly three hundred people in
the room. My pop is headed to CrossFit, so he says,
he popped in here just quick to say I'm okay,
we'll discuss in detail tomorrow. All right, there you go.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
There, Wait a minute, though, you're a remember of the press,
you're a member of the media.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
Yeah, and you.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
Can't wait because somebody else might get to him first.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
That's a good point.

Speaker 7 (10:40):
So you've got to get to him, and you've got
to get him on fast.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
That's true. So we'll see if after his crossfity.

Speaker 7 (10:46):
Jump out and son in law into CrossFit. But yeah,
no excuse.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
By the way its CrossFit any good. I've never never
tried that.

Speaker 7 (10:53):
You should. Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
My daughter who is thirty nine, okay, she's thirty eight,
she can lift her husband over her head.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (11:07):
And she's not as big as me, she's but I
mean physically, yeah, she and her and her husband, Wow,
they go crazy and they can lift weights. And I
heard somebody criticize CrossFit the other day as being silly
that you're doing other things while you're you know, building
your muscles or whatever. But sure, my my, my daughter

(11:28):
and son in law, they swear by it, and they
do it every week and and then some and boy
they they've really grown in that certain way.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
Good for that way.

Speaker 7 (11:40):
So back to your dad, he's got you've got a responsibility, yes,
to get him on, to get him on first before
somebody else does.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yes, that that's that's true. So we will work on
the number.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
Of the media. And I was in business media to
the real media jets media.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Yeah, that's that's true. It's it's been a beautiful journey,
there's no question about it. And real quick, I'll answer
your guys' questions about the Jets' recent roster moves because
I know how much you guys are on the edge
of your seat about it. First off, they brought back
Marquise Hayes to their practice squad, a nice young offensive lineman.
So six five, three hundred and eighteen pounds, did very

(12:19):
well in the preseason by all the analytics. So shout
out to Marquise as who returned to the practice squad.
But there was another interesting note because everyone was freaking
out over Brandon Smith, this talented wide receiver for the Jets.
They wanted him to make the team. He got waved.
He didn't make the team or cut. Rather, he's an
older player, not too old, but older than the young

(12:42):
players just skipping around the league. He's like twenty seven
years of age, and so he got cut, waved, and
then went to the practice squad. And then the Jets
made another roster move very quietly. No one reported it,
but I was double checking the Jets roster sheet. Brandon
Smith is on the fifty three man roster and I
thought at first it could be a mistake, but thank

(13:02):
you to a Jets fan sending me this along. Here
Brandon Smith posted on his Instagram yesterday a stock up
emoji seemingly confirming the move. So Jet fans were all
freaking out about Brandon Smith and appears he's right back
on the fifty three man roster. So there you go.
Is that someone you liked about?

Speaker 7 (13:19):
And who did they move from the fifty three to
the practice squad or get rid of someone?

Speaker 1 (13:24):
That is a great question because right now they have
thirteen or excuse me, yes, thirteen because of the German
offensive lineman. The Jets have three spots still available on
their practice squad. Here it is because Leonda Vegan. He's
part of the NFL's International Pathway program, so he has

(13:47):
a roster exemption. The Jets do to have three spots
available on their practice squad as a matter of fact.
So we'll see Tyler Johnson someone who got moved down
to the practice squad, But that was supposed to be
in concert with one of the other waiver wire moves.
So I'm gonna have to because eastep ten is asking
about where a skinner. Let me double check. I'm pretty
sure I had him on the practice squad. He is,

(14:07):
so he is still on the practice squad, so don't worry.
Astep ten, he is still there. He went nowhere. I'll
cross check the entire roster to see who is the
spot that went to him. Because it wasn't announced as
a transactional move by the Jets. I combed the Jets
transaction wire. They didn't announce it, so I don't know
who got shoved off the island here, Bob Will. We'll

(14:28):
have to see that with a transaction report coming out
at about four o'clock today.

Speaker 7 (14:33):
Speaking of which, was one other thing since you mentioned
number one Austreet Jets fan, Yeah, sure, I wanted to
come out of hiding. I want to meet him.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Oh sure.

Speaker 7 (14:44):
And you know, if you're a little shy, number one
Austreet Jets fan, just turn off the camera.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
And just talk to this, okay.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
I mean a guy who supports the show this much.
And by the way, all of you out there, the
moulah that he is throwing at me, boy Green is
to be on every week.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
He's got to pay those bills, so yeah, please, the
best way to pay.

Speaker 7 (15:06):
Those bills is for you to chip in and say, hey,
I'll give to ninety nine in honor of Bob's presence.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yes, please, Yeah, I've got a family, for God's sake.
So if you get two.

Speaker 7 (15:17):
Dollars ninety nine cents, not two hundred ninety nine dollars.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I would take that too, though, So you know anything, Yeah,
so super chat, superstickers, membership gifting, feel free to make
it rain from the high heavens. We're almost on top
of the season, folks, so I'd really appreciate it if
we could start working some of that in. So, folks,
please let's uh, let's put this all together. Bob. But
let me ask you about this real quick. I don't

(15:42):
have it in the show notes, but I just came
across the article because I was reading it NFL Media
Group that's like NFL dot com and if on that
work and those folks they gave all their picks for
the awards MVP, this, that the other, and showed who
voted for who on all of the awards off player
or defense play. There the Jets really didn't make any

(16:02):
of those awards except for one Coach of the Year
Aaron Glenn earned two votes from the panel. Now that
wasn't enough to win this made up award in the
NFL media landscape. But I'm curious, if Aaron Glenn is
to win Coach of the Year, what does he have
to do.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
To win it?

Speaker 1 (16:20):
In your mind?

Speaker 7 (16:21):
Nine wins?

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Nine wins, that's it? Yeah, and what just making the
playoffs or something.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Well, well, winning the playoffs would be the cherry on top,
because I mean, I'm sure next week you're gonna want
me to make my prediction everybody else as to how
many wins, and that's Nine's way more than I'm expected.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Actually, let's just do it right now, Bob, if you
are prepared to do it, because next week, I imagine
we'll be heavy on Jet Steelers and I'll probably be
poking your brain for that prediction on a week to
week basis. So, yeah, week out from the season, basically,
what do you believe? Give me your give your thoughts
on the Jets heading into the twenty Well, if you.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
Recall, in my first conversation with Indy, he was desperately
trying to make get me to make an actual bet,
yeah move on several things, and I said, I'm not
a betting man. I don't bet on anything. If I'm Vegas.
Now I'm I'm over under six and a half. And
yet I think they're going to be vastly improved. But

(17:26):
you know, I still have my doubts at quarterback, and
I still have from my first conversation with Indy. I'm
still asking where's the number two wide receiver? What are
they going to get out of him? Although Nick Ferrier
on Monday morning I thought made a great point, and
he was statistically trying to go, well, if Wilson gets

(17:48):
these many catches and the tight ends, all two of
them he got done, now you got four of them,
two of which will be playing on a lot of downs. Anyway,
his point was there isn't going to be a lot
of room statistically for that second wide receiver. I mean,

(18:08):
interesting way to look at it, but a lot of
those catches would obviously go to wide receiver two instead
of such a reliance on everybody else if Fields can
deliver the ball. And I did some statistical checking this
week about Fields, and the interesting thing is that his

(18:33):
percentage completion rate when he throws it between one and
ten yards is like ten percent higher. It's like in
the seventy five percent area. And that's what I think
the Jets wanted to do, so that's a plus. But
Willie Cologne, who you'll remember played for the Jets and
one to ring Deealers, has been sitting in for Boomer

(18:56):
and Geo this week. I usually watched that in the
morning as I'm doing some of my exercises, and they
asked him about fields this weekend. He made the point,
you know, his problem, if there is a problem, is
that at Ohio State, they didn't really rely on him
or train him very much to make the short distance throws.

(19:18):
They wanted him to throw the ball along because he
had so much talent out there between a Lavee and
Garrett Wilson, and they had such a good running attack,
so they didn't need to have short passes. He was
supposed to open up the game and after everybody was
trying to stop the run, he would beat them along.
And that's why he got into, according to Willie Cologne,

(19:41):
into the bad habits that he's got because he really
wasn't well trained at Ohio State. So anyway, six and
a half, you know, if I'm a betting man, would be.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
The line right now.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
Yeah, yeah, And I wouldn't you know, And I wouldn't
put it beyond fields because we've seen the last two
three years that these young quarterbacks get to a third
team and they blossom. Sure, you know, and and too
many of them have been with the Jets originally. But no,
I think I think six to seven games is about

(20:16):
what they can win. I think the games will be
much more competitive, except maybe against the Buffalos, and they're
really you know, good teams that are out there. And
yet I think they're going to be much better than
they have been. I expect their defense to be pretty tough.
It really would have been great if they could get

(20:36):
another pass rusher, both to slow down how quickly they
have to bring, you know, Jermaine Johnson back, and also
for the rotation, because you know, you can't keep these
guys on the field for fifteen or twenty plays, especially
early in the season when the weather's going to be
really warm. So anyway, that's what I'm thinking, And we

(20:57):
can get into fields in some of the numbers a
little later if you like.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
By the way, thank you to MJ from Jacks. He's
a Jets fan on social media. Responded to my roster
counting currently there's fifty four players in the fifty three
man roster, Bob so inevitably, so no corresponding move was
made yet, at least publicly to the fans. I'm sure
they would have had to.

Speaker 7 (21:23):
Yeah, you think they would have had to, almost snows.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
It just must not be yeah, exactly, just must not
be public yet. So we don't know what it's going
to be. But we'll all find out when the league's
transaction wire comes out about three or four o'clock. So
shout out to that fan again, Jab.

Speaker 7 (21:37):
I think the cut could be a tight end.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
I think it could be because technically you mentioned that
there's four on the roster. If you count Andrew Beck,
there's five. Because if you go to Mason Taylor, Stone, Smart,
Jeremy Rucker, Jelani Woodsh's the new addition, and Andrew Beck,
you go through those five. Maybe Jeremy.

Speaker 7 (22:02):
By the way, I've told you earlier, one of my
sons is a big Colts fan, and when I told
him about Jelani Cobb going to the Jets, he usually
will will write a very sarcastic remark about who the
Jets have gotten, like he's no good, blah blah blah.

(22:22):
He said to me, I got to admit, it's going
to be interesting to me to see how well he performs,
because when he's healthy dot dot Yeah, So you know
that if he can stay healthy and if he can
quickly learn the system, because he's only going to have
a week, this guy could be I mean, that really

(22:43):
would be the second real threat and that could really
take again a lot of the pressure off a need
for a second wide receiver. The other question, though, I
have about him is how well does he block.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Apparently from what people say, he's a decent block Now
I can't really speak to it because I haven't been
watching Colts tape, so I don't really know, but again,
everything is intriguing on the surface. Six foot seven, two
hundred and fifty pounds, apparently a very decent blocker. You've
seen the receiving prowess of the young man in his
rookie season. He showed a lot of pop. But to
your point, he has been out for the last two

(23:18):
years with injuries. He had hamstring injuries in his sophomore
season that rolled him out basically for the entire year,
and then last year he had toe surgery that rolled
him out for the entire year. So he has been Mia,
but there was some pop this preseason. I think it had
seven catches for seventy five yards, which was among the
preseason leaders at the tight end position. So they showed
he obviously showed enough health in that moment where the

(23:40):
JITs are like, hey, we'll take a shot of this
young man.

Speaker 7 (23:43):
Oh yeah, he's definitely worth worth the show. By the way,
I don't know this, Paul.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, what's the cost of.

Speaker 7 (23:49):
A waiver pickup? I know what it is in baseball?
What is it in football?

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah? All of it is just it is a blood
for blood trade. If you claim a player off waivers,
you must immediately cut someone from the fifty three man roster.
Beyond that, there is no price to pay.

Speaker 7 (24:04):
Okay, if he has a contract, you obviously.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Have to of course. Yeah, you sort of inherit the
contract when you claim someone from waivers.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
So whatever.

Speaker 7 (24:10):
I see him as a as being in his third
year now or it would be his fourth year. Yeah
that he probably he may have a contract because.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
He probably got that would be the last year of
his deal. So yes, any for those who don't know,
any non first round pick draft choice gets a four
year standard contract. So to your point, well said even
though it doesn't look like it from statistics. He had
his rookie year and he lost the last two seasons
due to season ending injuries, so he would only have
one year left on his deal, which is this year
that is to come. So it's a sort of a

(24:39):
perfect situation for him to prove himself and then if
he does that, Jets can keep him or whatever happens
there with the future.

Speaker 7 (24:45):
He must have been a hell of a prospect because
I thought I read this week that he had some
of those same injuries to the bottom part of his
body while he was in college.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Oh, I had not heard that, So that's that's good information.

Speaker 7 (24:57):
I should really double check that before I put it
out to Indy and other people who want to bet
on how while he does. That's also I think he
did have some injuries, but he was a third round pick.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
He was a top hundred pick in the NFL draft,
so that's very high placement. So certainly, again the potentials there.
The Jets talked about it, Darren Mujie and Robbie Peyton,
Darren Moogie's right hand man, talked about how intrigued they
are by it. Hey, if all it costs was a
waiver wire spot which you had the benefit of of
being one of the worst teams in football last year,

(25:29):
so you can utilize the seventh overall pick. That's what
I'm wearing right now. This is an adjustin fields jersey.
This is a waiver wire priority jersey. Number seven is
what the Jets had. So I'm just trying to represent
that here on the program.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
It.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Yeah, one hundred percent, that's exactly what There was a
certain quarterback, not that I'm aware of. No, absolutely not.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
We might demand that you turn around. Ye.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, you could definitely take my word for it that
the name plate says waiver wire. It definitely says that
on the back which a custom jersey.

Speaker 7 (25:57):
You've always been honest with me, so I will take
you at your word.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
See that's what I'm talking about. See, that's what this
relationship is all about, Bob. It's trust. There's obviously a
kinship that exists between us, which is beautiful and I
think it's palpable for the fans before we get to
those crazy animals. Those fans, we have four hundred of
them in the room. Thank you very much. Like the video,
hit subscribe if you guys are watching on YouTube. Bob,

(26:21):
anything else about this season you want to get off
your chest? Is there a player?

Speaker 7 (26:24):
You also did a lot of I started to look
at the Steelers and I listened in to probably the
most well listened to podcasts. Maybe I should hold it
till next week, but they were more concerned with putting
a bird dog on fields next week than they were
about running our running attack. In fact, they didn't really

(26:46):
even talk about a running attack. So I did a
little bit of looking at the Steelers running defense. You
want to hear about their running defense?

Speaker 1 (26:56):
Sure?

Speaker 7 (26:56):
Yeah, okay, glad you asked.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
All right, let's.

Speaker 7 (27:02):
See where is it here? Oh? You know what, Let's
wait until we get into the phone calls, and then
I'll pull it up because I don't have for some reason,
I don't have it right here, but I do have it.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Well, all right, that's okay, okay. I would just say
the one thing on the Steelers is their first round
draft choice, said Derek Harmon. Looks like he's going to
be out for a significant period of time. So he
was a big boy defensive tackle, so he will not
be available it appears for this week one Jets Steelers game,
So that can only be a benefit for the Jets.
But let's do that again. We have four hundred people
in the room. Guys, if you want to call in,

(27:34):
now is the time to do so. We're gonna play
a quick hap time out and then, as if you
are watching on YouTube, there'll be a pinned comment at
the top that you can click and call in if
you feel the pleasure to do so. Get your participation trophy,
and folks, it's time to call it.

Speaker 7 (27:52):
Plug Plugging Hoky Jets football Man.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Morgy, Buddy Daby, Buzzy Day Buggy held Just Football Club
on the special Geeze Watch Chess Footboom with by Green
Jay Gee.

Speaker 7 (28:17):
Gee pes Chess chest Chess.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Hey, welcome back everybody again. Paul Aston Junior here aka
Boy Green. I'm the New York Jet's digital reporter for
evy dot com. Welcome back to boy Green Daily. Baby.
We're here with four hundred people in the room. On Friday,
August twenty ninth. Again, I've got a big Fantasy draft
event I'm gonna be hosting at a local bar restaurant,
Smoky Bones. I'll give him a shadow, Sure, why not

(28:46):
the Smoky Bones restaurant. I'll be em seeing that event
and also participating in the draft, doing some you know,
sign an autographs, kissing babies. But then hey, get down
to the brass text, which is me trying to win
this fantasy league. Did I don't know? This trophy is
very interesting. This trophy is very interesting. The Manchesterhire champs

(29:06):
Ley Who is this?

Speaker 7 (29:07):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Oh, here's some of my team names in the past.
Winters is coming, Brian Winters good times twenty eighteen, yep,
won that championship. Oh oh twenty twenty three. Oh is
that Paul again? Wow? What keeps out of there? Discount?
Double jet, a second championship and our champs league. So
we've only been around for so long, but just collecting rings,
boom championship, championship, championship. It's just sort of what I

(29:30):
do people. So I'm looking for the three breat baby.
Let's go.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
That'll be very nice.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Up there for now. Oh yeah, that'll be quite nice.
Let's bring them back in here, Bob Letter, Sorry, I
had to go full scrach.

Speaker 7 (29:44):
Okay, so I found on the numbers on the Steelers.
I'll make it right to the calls. Last year, the
Steelers were number twenty in total defense in the NFL.
They were number They were number six against the run.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Oh, all right, that's pretty decent.

Speaker 7 (29:59):
They were number three in third down defense.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Hey, it's pretty good.

Speaker 7 (30:04):
And they were number thirteen in red zone defense.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
All right.

Speaker 7 (30:09):
So that number three in third down defense and number
six against the run. When we're gonna be a lot
of running on third and three, third and four, you know,
could be quite telling.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Well, that's when the boys become men, bab When the
Jets are running the football, the steers know the run
of the football, and we see who wins the battle
and the trenches. So I will be fascinated to see that.
Another thing I'm fascinating to see is when memberships are
coming in. Thank you J Boy, appreciate you. That membership

(30:45):
went to be all sixty six. Thank you J Boy
for that. Again, Guys, get your raffles that gets in.
You're running out of time. Today is August twenty ninth.
There are only thirty one days in August for those
counting at home, which means Sundays. You're final data. Submit

on and keep Bob on the show. Do you like Bob.
Do you like the money I pay Bob? And for
God's sakes, come on, man, sending that money.

Speaker 7 (32:02):
If you like and don't like, even if you like
Bob and you don't like the money that he's making.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Sure, yeah, either way that works for me.

Speaker 7 (32:09):
God bless all right for a raise any week now,
you never know.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
It could be he could be. And I'm gonna need
the proper shekels to get that as well. So we'll
see real quick. I see Rob Polinski. There's a lot
of people that come in and out of the show.
Brandon Smith apparently was promoted Rob. But we a Jet fan.
Thank you to MJ from Jack's on my Twitter account.

(32:32):
He counted it up. The Jets have fifty four players
on the fifty three man roster, which obviously that math
doesn't mass, so they're gonna have to make a corresponding
roster move at some point later today officially to the fans.
So we'll keep an eye out for that one. But
it was Brandon Smith who got that call. Shout out
to Brandon Smith, one of our favorites. Let's go to
the phone lines. Lots of people calling in and let's

(32:53):
go first. It's a Friday. So Philly Noodles special here
on the phone.

Speaker 7 (32:57):
Wait a minute, fully, nothing against you, it's.

Speaker 9 (33:00):
Half Oh yeah, sometimes we get We always usually get him,
so I've seen them.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Sorry about that. Okay, let's got to have.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
You got muscle Bob Banks.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Wow, that was that was impressive.

Speaker 7 (33:15):
It's like, here, now you got me in trouble with
Philly Noodles. You get past that.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
I'm pretty quick.

Speaker 6 (33:25):
I'm not going to hang on for Longe.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
But so anyway, uh, Jake had uh was Jake Asmond
was interviewing Rich Eisen.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Oh that's so cool. I haven't heard the interview yet,
but it seemed really cool.

Speaker 7 (33:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
It was a taped interview, so I wasn't able to
it was something on this radio program, but I was
trying to get Jake to mention the Matt Snow. Oh yes,
but now we know that Jake has it in on on.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
That's the second time interviewing Rich. He interviewed him in person.
I think it was at the combine and then that
for the radio show. So that's awesome. Yeah, clearly does.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Yeah, so we know Jake has Rich's ear. So let's
ask where we got to apply the pressure to get
into that.

Speaker 7 (34:04):
I just have to get we just have to get
this this Esden character to when he's on once a week,
find a way to squeeze it in. I was watching
the other day just to see how he was going
to squeeze it in. Yeah, there's each other activity. Unfortunately,
I know.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
The thing is, Yeah, the other thing is Steelers aren't
so thrilled with the way Rogers are performing. They're a
little bit like they they're having buyers remorse here.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
They're not so exciting. Think how much you'll feel about
that after week one maybe? Yeah.

Speaker 7 (34:38):
Well, and and and he was quoted this week, our
former quarterback about how wonderful it is to work with
the steel with Arthur White iroll Rich exactly. I looked
at that and I said, wow, now that's and you know,
the press in Pittsburgh is like New York like, only

(34:58):
for the Steelers. That's yeah, because Pittsburgh is a Steelers town.
And so he he went out of his way to really,
you know, put put a lot of plaudits on about
the offensive coach and how innovative he is. M Yeah,
I'm sorry, I said, author wife, but it's Arthur Smith. Yeah,

(35:20):
White Smith. You know it's all the same.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Yeah, yeah, I get it.

Speaker 7 (35:23):
You know, when you get to be my age, you know,
the names don't matter. It's just the ideas.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
But look, you remembered, you remembered.

Speaker 7 (35:31):
Yeah, a couple. You'll be there in a couple of
decades and you'll know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
There you go.

Speaker 7 (35:36):
It's like yesterday. I think I yesterday I thought I
heard Paul like you were having trouble remembering a name,
and I went, oh God, what a moment this is.

Speaker 6 (35:47):
Now.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Yeah, I like Brandon Smith too, as the third as
as the third, I wouldn't mind him actually as often
as this, you know, the second white I was going
to get the ball.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
I don't see.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Brandon Smith was catching everything he seemed like this year.
And he's a tall, lanky guy, big target.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
It might be a good fit.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
I mean, good for him. I can't believe again all
the again. That's why we call it an initial fifty three.
We're like Jet fans. Yeah, Brandon Smith, I hope he
makes it. Oh he didn't make it. Oh he's on
the practice squad. Oh he's on the practice squad. Wait,
he's on the fifty three. What a roller coaster for god?
Six it's only been a couple of days. Let's see
what happens. But again, who is the Corsemonding roster move? Okay,

(36:27):
we're all gonna make a prediction right here. We're gonna
go around the horn. Okay, so brand Smith is on
this roster. Imagine the Corsemunding movie is not cutting him
and sending him back. So someone else is getting cut.
We'll start with you, hab, who do you believe he's
getting cut for Brandon Smith? Later today?

Speaker 7 (36:42):
Rutcker?

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Jeremy RUCKERD.

Speaker 7 (36:44):
Okay, Bob, I'll make it a duo on that.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Okay, another Jeremy RUCKERD. And yep, see it, Jeremy rucgard
you off the island. There you go.

Speaker 7 (36:55):
They can put him on the practice sure.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
If he wants to go after they can't him off
and he waves his ass back.

Speaker 6 (37:03):
There is a.

Speaker 7 (37:06):
Veteran status or whatever that kicks in where you can't
go on the practice squad. Remember you've been in the
league for five years or whatever is. You can't just
stash really veteran players.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
You actually can, as a matter of fact. So rule
changes happened in the COVID world. So okay, let's just
break all this down. This is good for the fans
to know. So on a NFL practice squad, you're allowed
to have sixteen players as of right now.

Speaker 6 (37:28):
Now.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
You could sometimes have seventeen if you have an international
Pathway pro graand player like Leon de Vegan from Germany.
So the Jets are allowed to have seventeen, but most
of the time you're only allowed to have sixteen. Six
of those ten spots can go to players of any designation.
They can be Bob, they can be You, doesn't matter.
They can be maybe, they can be Tim Tebow, it

(37:50):
doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if they're in the league
for a year, twenty years, thirty years, forty years, doesn't matter.
Six of the ten spots can do that. The other
ten have to be players of two years or fewer,
so rookies, first year player, second year players, those who
are allowed so. Yes, as a matter of fact, there
are six exemptions if you even want to call it that,
but six spots on the roster on a practice squad
that could go to any length of time. There's zero

(38:13):
restrictions or limitations whatsoever. So Jeremy Ruckert is a heading
into his fourth year, so he is subject to waivers.
If the Jets cut him right now, the other thirty
one teams have a chance to claim him. Good freaking
lunckboal if you want to, God bless. But if he
does not get claim, the Jets would have an opportunity
to bring him back on the ps heep.

Speaker 7 (38:33):
I hate to say goodbye, but I understand Philly's already
looking up my address and I don't like what he's
got in mind.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
I was just gonna say, bring Philly back on.

Speaker 7 (38:42):
Love you guys, that's a great weekend, all.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Right, there we go Philly Noodle's take two. Wow, that
was That was incredibly rude by Bob. He pressed that Pie.

Speaker 7 (38:51):
I apologize, not enough good apologize.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
It's a good man cool.

Speaker 9 (38:57):
I gotta say. I don't think Rutgers getting cut, man,
it's not.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Record And who is it? Okay, you give your prediction.
I'll have everyone on the show do it. Who's getting
Who's getting the cut?

Speaker 9 (39:08):
Maybe Weston? I know it sounds dirty, but there's no
way they cut.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Well, can't be Weston. So he's on the short term
I r so he doesn't even count towards the roster
right now, so it can't be him. Give me give
me another name, another name.

Speaker 9 (39:20):
I would, I would it's not gonna be yeah, I
mean it really it really could be him then, I
mean I just I would say, it's not gonna be
more more, more than this thing. He's a special teamer.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
I mean, who are you talking about on more time more?

Speaker 6 (39:37):
Well?

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Yeah, he was a high drafts he's not.

Speaker 5 (39:39):
He's he's not going to get cut, Okay.

Speaker 6 (39:41):
I mean it really could be him. I just don't.
I mean, I'm looking at the roster online.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Some people are saying Xavier Gibson were but with him
winning the job, I don't see that either, ego, I.

Speaker 7 (39:53):
Know not after the explanation that Glenn gave the other day,
I don't think every practice puns.

Speaker 6 (40:00):
It could be him.

Speaker 9 (40:01):
I mean, why didn't they bring back one of the
tackles that they thought they weren't going too.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Marques? But he's in the practice squad, he's not on
the fifty three.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
So what are our tackles right now?

Speaker 10 (40:13):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (40:14):
So we've got Chuck Wuma Okorra four, we have Arba Membu,
we have Olu Fashnu and I guess Max Mitchell is
a left tackle backup right now?

Speaker 7 (40:20):
Yeah, they're not going to cut them and the kid
and the kid we got from pool, the kid we
got from Kansas City.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
Oh s pol that is correct, right, So he came
from Kansas City. That's a great, great call, Bob. So
he's also in that.

Speaker 9 (40:31):
Group, and they let him. He went into the first
fifty three. I feel like they had cut him.

Speaker 6 (40:39):
But damn, okay, I would be surprised if they cut
Stone Smart.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Right, it could be one of They have five tight ends.
So if we're going to throw a javelin in somebody going,
probably one of the smart So you're stoning Stone Smart
Stone him to death on the fifty Sorry, okay, it's because.

Speaker 7 (41:00):
It might be one of the tight ends. But then
it might not be record because going into the first game, uh,
and with their new tight end having to learn the
system from school, he's probably only he's probably only going
to learn ten or twelve plays going into next week.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
He might not even be active on game day. To
be honest with you, it's such a short amount of time.

Speaker 9 (41:19):
Maybe, but it sounds ugly, but he is a proven
veteran in the system with the Jets as a he's.

Speaker 6 (41:26):
Approved a record.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Ye, yes, I agree.

Speaker 9 (41:29):
I mean that It's almost like cutting back. You wouldn't
cut back because you know, right, he knows football right now.
So I mean, yeah, I think it could be Stone Smart,
And I mean stone Smart will get picked up if
he hits Waivers.

Speaker 6 (41:41):
That's for sure. I think he gets picked up.

Speaker 9 (41:43):
Yeah, but I mean it could be Stone Smart. If
it's record, it's Rucker. But I just don't do man.
I really find I have a hard time seeing it
be him. Now let's get into the brass tacks. Why Yeah,
I try to tell everybody they had to get off
of that pret thing making the first fifty three. It
was not gonna happen. AJ Martinez was not gonna happen.

(42:06):
You just knew there were certain players. It feels good
at the moment, Donovan Edwards gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (42:12):
These are all people that we should have realized. It's
it just happens.

Speaker 9 (42:15):
You have these hot summers and everyone thinks or something
like Brandon Smith, Eh, oh good.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
Oh you just Stone Stone Smart. People may be stone
in you in the streets for the Brandon Smith name.

Speaker 9 (42:31):
Well, he looks sharp, but he's twenty six, so he
has to have one of these like breakout years.

Speaker 6 (42:35):
And here twenty seven years old. Dude, you're you're three.

Speaker 9 (42:38):
You are stones throw away from thirty, bro, like you
should have already been probably something about three years ago.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Yes, yeah, I want to apologize. You're right, he's twenty six,
not twenty seven. I aged him by year. He does
turn twenty seven at the end of the season.

Speaker 6 (42:51):
But yeah, that's know what I'm saying, you know, Like,
I mean, listen, hey, you never know.

Speaker 9 (42:55):
He might have one of those weird, freakish like back
half of your good looking career.

Speaker 7 (43:01):
But he's had more practice time because the other two
guys have been injured.

Speaker 9 (43:06):
Yeah, so what I'm That's what I'm trying to say,
Like it looks like it feels good. But dude, he's
been going against practice squad, and he's been going against
second stringers. Wait until he's like butt up against Jalen Ramsey.
I don't want the kid out there. I don't even
think he has If he's releases too slow, what's the
point of him.

Speaker 7 (43:22):
Yeah, but Ramsey's gonna play Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 6 (43:24):
Oh yeah, of course. Well I'm just.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
Saying, you know, he's gonna try.

Speaker 9 (43:28):
Yeah, better hope his ass can cover him.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
I mean, you see that viral club from I think
it had to have been no with Jalen, Yeah cause
he me the trailer. So the where Garrett gives Jalen
the old stop and go, oh my god because the
quarterback plays sucks. Nothing came of it, but he gave
Jaylen that and jay went fell to the ground and
Garrett went right by Mark. Oh my oh, I can't wait.

Speaker 9 (43:58):
So, Bob, I did want to bring up what you
were talking about with the run game against the Steelers,
like this is this is big. So this first game
is more than just you know, first off, they know fields.
They just had him last year. Ye, so they know
what he looks like, they know what he moves like.

Speaker 7 (44:11):
They have a lot of practice time against him, exactly.

Speaker 9 (44:15):
We're talking about what like months on end for how
many I mean, he was there the whole season, so
the he most.

Speaker 7 (44:23):
Likely he ran the what are the team the scout team?

Speaker 6 (44:27):
Yeah that's right.

Speaker 9 (44:28):
So what what bothers us is the book ends. So
I think that people don't realize that first signing that
move made when he went and got back was for
a reason.

Speaker 6 (44:38):
They knew they were going to run and he's going
to be chipping the life out of them.

Speaker 9 (44:43):
Week one, he's gonna have to chip every time he
runs out there at a full back whoever it is,
has to chip high Smith and has to chip what's
his face, Watts. It's just going to have to happen.
And I think we're going to see a lot of
counter that play action. Better move right and Justin Feels
is gonna have to throw the ball. I don't care
what anyone thinks. That blitz is coming. Tomlin's gonna smell,

(45:06):
you know, the blood in the water.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
They're gonna dare him to pass. They're gonna load the
ship out of the box. They're gonna this is and
by the way, yeah, well what a genius defensive game
player you just came up with. They're gonna double Garrett
Wilson and they're gonna load the box with the other
nine and they're gonna say beat us. And right now, okay,
who Bob's been asking for it every week, Poor Bob

(45:29):
on the side of the street. Wide receiver two, please please,
Wide receiver two in my cup. Who's gonna be the
guy that is a man beater, because that's what's gonna be.
It's gonna be straight up to have an opportunity to
do something that's gonna be everyone's game plan until proven otherwise.

Speaker 9 (45:43):
If you heard Moves sidekicked the interview yesterday, Oh yeah
he was.

Speaker 6 (45:51):
He was lost. He mentioned Arian Smith.

Speaker 9 (45:54):
We see contributing like immediately because he's gonna have to
like we wanted to have to burn the barnyard and
get there.

Speaker 7 (46:00):
Yeah, they're gonna they're gonna have to like it. I
hate talk about the Super Bowl game again, but they
threw one long to Maynard to basically show the cults
that they could beat their zone, and they're gonna have
to throw along to Arian Smith, I'm guessing certainly by
the end of the first quarter, if not earlier, just
to show that that he can he can throw it
out there and he can hit the hit it out there.

(46:23):
That's what he does particularly well from all the reports
that we have.

Speaker 6 (46:28):
Mm hmm, yeah, I think so.

Speaker 9 (46:29):
And uh, before I get off, Uh, Bob, how do
you feel about those new jerseys. I know you hate
the jerseys and the hats and everything that we could
buy off the Jets, but supposedly their name it inspired
with you know, with the sixties cuffs.

Speaker 7 (46:48):
I said this before. I don't care about the uniforms.
This this is this is football, you know, uh, not
a fashion show. I don't. Yeah, well listen, if you
guys want to spend your money on that, that go
right again. That's why but you know, that's why they

(47:10):
do it. They do it to sell jerseys.

Speaker 6 (47:13):
Of course.

Speaker 7 (47:14):
Was when I was in Yeah, when I was in
New York two weeks ago, and we were coming back
to LaGuardia Airport and they passed the store and they
had Jets paraphernalia and they picked up one Jets cap
because I don't really have a good Jets cap.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
Oh we got a new one.

Speaker 7 (47:31):
No, I didn't get a new one because it was
thirty five dollars.

Speaker 1 (47:34):
And I said, oh, that's a steal. I was just
played last week their brand new Jets sideline hats are
fifty dollars.

Speaker 7 (47:42):
And I was at j I'll go back, I'll go
back and I'll get that thirty five Hold.

Speaker 9 (47:47):
On chat Discord and b BG, I haven't I have
something here, Bob, you would, if you would, if we
all chipped in.

Speaker 6 (47:56):
This it's a soldment. This four hundred was watching Life
is subscribed? Could we not.

Speaker 9 (48:00):
Pull enough money to get you a Gotham City jersey
you have to wear on the show.

Speaker 6 (48:05):
You wear that jersey.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
This is a brand new jersey. This is the rivalry
jersey on the greens. Yeah, it's not.

Speaker 7 (48:10):
That one you want me to You don't want me
to wear black.

Speaker 6 (48:14):
We want you to wear that. That's a green in
black jersey.

Speaker 7 (48:17):
It is.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
It's very light, but it's sort of Yeah.

Speaker 7 (48:22):
Yes, I would. I guess I would wear it.

Speaker 6 (48:29):
We'll pull on money to b g BG. We'll talk
on the side.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Everybody a dollar there, Yeah, that's true. We'll get it
very quickly for the brand new jersey. That's it for
the rivalry.

Speaker 6 (48:39):
So okay, and buy the book of course, by the book.

Speaker 1 (48:41):
Of course, of course by the book.

Speaker 7 (48:44):
Like hey, listen, everybody, the book is a keeper.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
That's what I hear. That's what I hear.

Speaker 7 (48:49):
I mean, it's something you can you'll be able to
pass it on to your the next in line. You
know that little three year old boy you have or
a four year old girl you have. Yes, yeah, they're
going to want to know about that. You mean, I
have grandkids, okay, Like one is oldest thirteen, sure, and
my youngest is turning four tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (49:11):
Oh, I've got it.

Speaker 7 (49:14):
No, my youngest is one, is not even one yet,
and yeah, the next oldest is it will turn four tomorrow.
And I'm telling them they don't understand what I'm saying.
You know that book that you know your daddy has
upstairs that has my name on it, Yeah, you know,
when you're old enough to read it, you should read it.

(49:35):
You know, you shouldn't read it now because there's some
stuff in there that little kids shouldn't be shouldn't be consuming.
But when you get old enough to read it. But
like I told you, when I went to the book
for in Georgia years ago, they told me this is
a book that people are going to be looking at
in digital form, of course, fifty years from now, because
it is the only book of its kind.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
Yes, I agree.

Speaker 7 (49:57):
Anyway, Yes, I'm you. You can if you guys really
want to get me a jersey and wear that thing, Okay,
but I make no promises. I made the next week
revert back to my name with the uniform. But I see,
we can, we can see, you know, I'm My heart's
in the right place.

Speaker 1 (50:15):
Obviously, obviously, and that's great to see.

Speaker 7 (50:18):
You give your money to Woody Johnson.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
Or give your money to me. Baby Florally said, here's
a few shekels morning, Yes, look at that. Poor Lily says,
here's a few shekels for you five bucks plus with
his previous super Chat combinations. Uh fl Loly, you've added
a pile.

Speaker 7 (50:39):
I'll tell you what we should do, Paul. We should.
We should, if you guys really are serious, we should
set a goal. We should set a goal maybe for
this week and next week as to how many new
uh subscribe not subscribers, but new contributions are made for whatever. Okay,
And if you that number, then then maybe we talk

(51:03):
about you know, and this is entirely up to you, Paul,
because the money's going into your wallet and I'm insured.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
Yeah, you know, so anyway, I like that.

Speaker 7 (51:11):
By the way, by the way, sheckles is is s
h e c k E ls.

Speaker 1 (51:15):
Just any I wasn't going to point that out, but Bob,
I'm glad you did. So there you go for for Lily,
you know, but I appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (51:22):
We want to teach kids the right way.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Sure. And there's thirteen Raffle tickets in your pile for Lily,
Thank you very much. We have more phone calls to
get to you, but I want to get to another
super chet here. This is from Troy Sturgis. Baby wraw
are you're a dollar away from a raffle ticket. Again,
doesn't have to come to day. I hed come over
the weekend, but he asked BJ you could sharn about

(51:45):
John Simpson in his back. He did not practice in
the most recent practice I was aware of. So if
they practiced yesterday, I did not see anything because I
was doing busy stuff with the Aswego High school football team.
So if there was a follow up practice, I did
not see it. But the most recent practice I heard,
which would have been a Wednesday, he did not practice.
I am very concerned about John Simpson and if he

(52:06):
does not go. I imagine the offensive line the Jets
wood trot out week one is from left to right.
We have Olu Muiywa Fashionu at left tackle. You have
Joe Tipman at left guard, you have Josh Myers at center,
av t Elijah Chucker at right guard, and then Arman
Membu at right tackle. I believe that's a five they
trot out, and I am very concerned. Bob, are you.

Speaker 7 (52:27):
Well the other day you'll recall the sk Glenn who's
starting at center, And he was noncommittal, and I think
that's why he was noncommittal.

Speaker 1 (52:34):
Well, here's committal.

Speaker 7 (52:35):
Yes, two centers and Tipman can play left guard, you know,
better than Myers can play left guard. So that may
be the reason why he said what he said. There
was no follow up.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
Well, Bob, he was definitely committal. You know. They they said, hey, uh,
what are your thoughts on the center competition? And he
says a center will play and they confirm that. Now
who the center is? A he left that part out,
but he confirmed that a center will in fact play, which,
by the way, Bob, So, I don't know how much

(53:07):
have you been seeing a lot of these ag press
conference moments on Twitter or anything.

Speaker 7 (53:11):
Like I'm in fact I watched you watch Mouji yesterday.

Speaker 1 (53:15):
Okay, see there you go. Well, now, what do you.

Speaker 7 (53:20):
Think your offensive line? I think they're pretty good. What
do you think of the defensive line? I think they're
pretty good.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (53:27):
No, of course, spill his guts and tell us everything,
and well, you know, you know, so who knows?

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Yeah, I want to.

Speaker 7 (53:35):
Know who the other quarterback is going to be that
they need.

Speaker 1 (53:38):
To get, don't we all, but I would just say
that with Ag, there's been a running bit and I've
been tweeting it out. Is Ag versus the Jets media?
Anytime there's been something testing between Aaron Glenn and a reporter,
and that once again happened on the center thing. They
went back and forth. It was first with Aaron Glenn
and Ritzamini about Hey, the center competition. Do you have

(53:58):
an answer? Yeah, yeah, it's going on. The competition's going on. Okay,
who is it a center? So a center will play?
A center replay? Who is it a center? Will play?
And then and then another reporter gets in on the
action goes, so when will the decision be made? Well,
that's my decision. Could you wait all the way till

(54:18):
the end of the week, Well, that's my decision.

Speaker 7 (54:20):
So it sounds like Eron Glenn learned something from Belichick too.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
And maybe a little parcels action, so that sounds more
like Belichick. Well, I'll try to pretend that Belichick doesn't exist,
although I do. Here it is.

Speaker 6 (54:36):
You guys will love this.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
I've not read this yet. Brady versus Belichick. My boy,
Gary Myers, this is probably a sacrilege to show this
Patriots book on the screen here, but the dynasty debate
who's more responsible for their success? Bill Belichick, Tom Brady,
I mentioned a lot of you guys.

Speaker 7 (54:50):
Don't let's even it out.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
Yeah see there you go, Well you win, you win
this one. I've not cracked that book open yet. Gary
Myers sent me a copy. Thank you, Gary for that.
I'll have to get into that later. I love Gary
and we'll have to.

Speaker 7 (55:03):
Belichick is quoted in my book too pretty excessive.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
Oh, okay, Belichick versus Belichick off. I love that. Bob,
thanks for let's uh you win that contest. By the way,
I yield, I ben the knee. Uh for sure. All right,
we've got a bunch of people waiting to call in
here on the show. Let's go next. We have blabblah
blub blah. Badshaw, you're next. What's up? Bad Shaw?

Speaker 10 (55:24):
What's going on? BG? And Bob this morning?

Speaker 7 (55:27):
We're good Bradshaw?

Speaker 1 (55:28):
How are you doing good?

Speaker 10 (55:31):
Doing good?

Speaker 4 (55:32):
I wanted to.

Speaker 10 (55:35):
First Sam punk footballs you know back it's I think
it kicked off last night, right, I know ma Zoo played.
I don't know what other teams you're going at it.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
There was other players yep. On other team's college football action.

Speaker 5 (55:48):
Yep.

Speaker 10 (55:49):
Yeah, So I mean it's officially it's officially back and whatnot.
So I pumped about that. Now regarding the MACA.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Parsons, Yes, way sure.

Speaker 10 (56:00):
So you know we're going to the tailgate, going to
the game, Cowboys game, all that good stuff. So I
was I was pumped to hear, Well, Michael Parsons, he's
not on the team anymore.

Speaker 1 (56:14):
All right, Kenny Clark, he's.

Speaker 10 (56:18):
Good, he's pretty, he's really good. And I just wonder, what,
what what are you all thoughts on our run game
now that he's a factor and all that. That's That's
something I was thinking about the other nine. I'm curious
to know the response.

Speaker 1 (56:36):
Yeah, I would say this right off the top, I
would much rather have and this might sound weird, but
I'd much rather have the interior pocket penetration versus the
outside bend Mi Coah Parsons can line up left, right, up,
down center. He scares the crap out of me. And
so to know that that chess piece has been removing
the game again, all due respect, Kenny Clark is a

(56:58):
multi time Pro Bowl All Pro. He's one of the
best defensive tackles in football that no one talks about.
He's really good. He's twenty nine, so he still has
plenty of meat on the bone in his prime. But
if I have the choice, like they said, Paul, you
can face off against Kenny Clark and Michael Parsons, I'm
picking Kenny Clark and I'm not. And it's out of
disrespect that Kenny Clark, my Comparsons is just really good.
So if I'm the Jets, I trust our interior offensive

(57:21):
line of We'll see if the Simpson thinks more tier
is Simpson titman avt. Let's go to work and maybe
battles will be more even like Kenny will win some,
our offensive line will win some, and our quarterback is mobile.
Like again, Mike had just scares me. So while that's
still he's still a high impact player Kenny Clark right now,
in this moment in time, I think it is a

(57:42):
pro Jet argument about that Parsons conversation, at least from
the pass rush, because Michael Parsons wasn't really good at
run defense.

Speaker 7 (57:51):
Go ahead, and Justin Fields takes too many sacks, so
there's there's another factor.

Speaker 10 (57:58):
Well, and I just want to say I'm not wanting
to compare which ones, which one's better, because Michael Parsons,
I mean he's been I mean he's playing Edge, he's
playing you know, he's dropping back. I mean, he can
play anywhere. But I just was like, well, I mean
maybe you know, yeah, that's great, but they do also
have Kenny Clark, now, which is nobody to screw around

(58:21):
with and whatnot. But also, you know, I just wanted
to say, Bob, I'm glad you've been on the shows here.
I really pushed for it. I really enjoyed the book.
And I don't I don't get to call in a
lot on Fridays. I commute usually with my cousin, and
so I don't get to call in a lot and
talk to you. But I really enjoy having you on man.

(58:45):
And I did want to just leave y' all with this. So, Bob,
when when you were making your book, and you can
kind of take this question and run with it how
you want to, But what what was a player or
something you found out about a player? Uh, you really
didn't didn't see coming, like maybe somebody that you didn't

(59:05):
really think contributed, You didn't know they contributed as much
as they did to our super Bowl win or something
like that. Could you answer that? You can take it? However,
you can take that.

Speaker 7 (59:17):
Stay on for a second and I'll tell you Curly
Johnson the Jets part. Curly Johnson was the uh, the
jokester on the team. And you gotta have this on
any winning team. A guy who just raises the level
and keeps everybody in the good mood and and anybody
is susceptible to him and his practical jokes. And in

(59:40):
his case, he even pulled practical jokes on Joe he uh,
because Joe was such a womanizer. He called Joe up
and went into falsetto and he convinced Joe that that
they should go out for a date that night, and
Joe got dressed to the nines got ready to come out,
and the whole team knew about it, and they were

(01:00:01):
all hiding behind the curtain as Joke came out of
the elevator and up came Curly and said, you know, idea,
how you doing? And Joe was that? So, I mean, yeah,
it's his chapter if you should read it again. Because
he was a great team motivator. He even pulled his
jokes on Web. He would imitate web to Weep's face.

Speaker 10 (01:00:25):
Yeah, and that's kind of what I gathered from the book.
I remember when I read the book, I was like,
this is the god I want to hang out with,
Like yeah, out of the group, Like this is the
guy you'd want to hang out with and have a
good time go out on the town with, you know.

Speaker 7 (01:00:39):
Yeah, Unfortunately he went out on the town too many times,
even for his wife's you know appreciation.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Hey, hey, by the way, Bob, quick question, because I
know Badshaw listened to the audio version, so he may
be a good person for this too. Was that voice
included in the audio version of the book that?

Speaker 7 (01:00:55):
That's a don good question. I didn't get that far
in the audio version. I wanted to do the audio version,
and they wouldn't let me.

Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
Batshot and you confirm her deny. Was that was that voice?

Speaker 10 (01:01:08):
I never I never got the voice. I never heard
the voice on there, but I will bad and I
think I told you this, Bob. But what was funny
was you know you've got like the whole roster on
a page. There's like a page of the.

Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
Yeah, yes, how and it was like how tall they were?

Speaker 10 (01:01:26):
Well, it literally read all that to me. So it
like started with the number one and went all the
way to nine.

Speaker 7 (01:01:35):
This week, you had you had time to go to
the you had time to go to the men's room
and come back.

Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:01:39):
I guess well, And I enjoyed it because I liked
I honestly liked. You know, they'd be like offensive lineman
six foot two, two hundred.

Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
And right the stark differences to now right, yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:01:52):
From from U temp yact. I will tell you that
the proofreaders at at the book at the publisher, they
went through it with a fight, fine tooth comb to
make sure that I had the numbers and the sizes
and the weights correct. And they appreciate that level of
the tael Yeah. Yeah, they didn't want to take any chances,

(01:02:16):
so they did. Don't called me out and said, hey,
you got this here, you got that there? Which one
is correct? And I had to go back and find
the source and find out myself which one was the
most correct one. I like that.

Speaker 10 (01:02:27):
Yeah, that was definitely you know, I was I was
sitting there and I was listening to it while I
was at work, and it was just cracking me up
because I mean it went I would say it went
on for about thirty minutes, just like this person at
you know, Joe Names number twelve, two hundred and nineteen pounds.
That that was just like college, you know, Alabama. And

(01:02:51):
I was just like, oh my gosh, I'm getting I'm
getting the full you know, I'm getting the full experience,
like I was sitting there reading the program at the game.

Speaker 7 (01:02:59):
You know, I tell you what that that part of
the book I'm proud of. And the other part of
the book is all the way in the back where
I gave you a blow by blow, a play by
play from the super Bowl. And not just and not
just you know, uh, Matt Snell runs runs ahead for
three yards. I gave you detail about you know, which

(01:03:20):
off tackle you know around the end whatever, who who
made the tackle, who made the blocks for him, and
that sort of thing, because again, I wanted everybody to
get the credit that they deserved. One more thing about
Curly Johnson, Web's given name with Wilbur. Nobody nobody called
him Wilbur with one exception, and it was Curly. And

(01:03:43):
when when Curley Junior, who now is about as old
as me, met him the first time outside the the
locker room, he was introduced by you know, his mother
to web and the little he was about fourth a time,
put his hand out and said, Hi, Wilbur, how are you,

(01:04:04):
and nobody called wee Wilbur.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
That's cute.

Speaker 10 (01:04:08):
Yeah, that's awesome. Well, Bob, I got you definitely need
to come to that Cowboys game if you can. I know, Uh,
there's gonna be some good food if you're going to
be in the area. I know I've heard you say
in the past. Uh, you've got some family in New York.
At the least you could either you could come eat
with us at the Clover at the Clover.

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
Least the night before, right Saturday, October fourth, that's correct.

Speaker 7 (01:04:29):
Well, I will make I won't probably be there for that.
There are some other reasons, but but I I at
some point I'm gonna have to, uh, you know, man
up and you know, be up close and personal with
you guys, and it would be it would be my
pleasure and hopefully would be your pleasure too.

Speaker 10 (01:04:47):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, I'd love to meet you, Bob.
But I'm looking forward to meeting BG here in what
thirty seven days, thirty six days.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
That my dad has the counter he's got like a
tracker somewhere and he's been doing thirty six days twelve
that four minutes in two secads and I'm like, wow, okay, Bob,
all right he said.

Speaker 7 (01:05:04):
He's you gave you gave the cookbook.

Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
Yes, that's right here.

Speaker 7 (01:05:10):
Yeah, so kudos to you.

Speaker 10 (01:05:13):
Hey, and I did that's I'm glad you brought that
up off because that was the whole reason I called
in was about that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Oh okay, so see sometimes we call in, right, we
forget the reason we called that. So there you go. Yep,
go ahead, Batcha.

Speaker 10 (01:05:24):
Well, I just want I know you're doing the revealed Monday.

Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
Right, we're doing the correct September first, yep.

Speaker 10 (01:05:29):
Okay, I don't I don't know if I'll be like
I've got some people staying with me that that day.
Oh no, just holler at me, yeah, with whoever wins,
and we'll get all that arranged. But I didn't want.
I didn't want that day of the show. And it
get revealed and you're like, all right, bat y'all and
it's like crickets, like, oh, let's beat y'all backing out
on the book or something. So okay, discord, Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:05:54):
Brett brad show, what what do you think of me
being forced to wear a jersey that I don't really appreciate.

Speaker 10 (01:06:01):
Oh, you gotta do it, Bob, you got you just
gotta make those sacrifices you've got. You gotta give the
people what they want.

Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
Bob, It's true. You have to feed the animals, spop.

Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
You gotta.

Speaker 7 (01:06:14):
You have a great weekend, bro O.

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
Yeah, thank you, b Badshaw, Baby appreciate you. Thank you
so much for tuning in. Yes, apparently there's a movement
that will be happening on the side on the discord
private app about rallying the funds to get Bob a
jersey doesn't want. You know, as a matter of fact,
that Batchaw was just on. We had a caller that
called into this program during the Packers era. I'm not

(01:06:39):
sure or not Packers, Well, I guess it basically, yes, no,
not when we played the package when Aaron Rodgers was
traded here, we adopted a Packers fan who wanted to
follow Aaron Rodgers on the journey. So called into the
show all the time. And uh so it's sort of weird,
but I mean he called it the show all the time.
We welcome in, he welcomed him.

Speaker 7 (01:06:58):
It's a story. Tope, people when I moved to Chicago,
now you can become a Cups fan now.

Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
So we welcomed this person.

Speaker 7 (01:07:06):
We welcomed I'm not gonna come a cub fan, some
up Slo Met fan.

Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
Yeah, and his name was b MAC and but he
was a package fan but supporting the Jets while Aaron
Rodgers was there. So several callers, including Badshaw, rallied the
funds to purchase him a brand spanking new Jets hat,
and they rallied it, and then they worked it through me,
and then I was able to send it to b MC,
Andnee wore the hat regrudgingly for a little while, and

(01:07:32):
all kinds of things happening.

Speaker 7 (01:07:33):
To take it off after he tour his achilles.

Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
He did not, he did not, but he did all
kinds of weird things. But AnyWho, he's gone now. So
I think the Boy Green Coffee Club is ready to
get hurt again and to do something else. So Bob
you're their next target. We'll see what happens there and
we'll see what's next. By the way, we've got a
super check coming in. Shout out to Devin A K

(01:07:58):
d Andy for life. He's been a member for over
a year thirteen months maybe to the boy Green Coffee Club.
Thanks Devin, I can't wait to meet you and your family.
By the way, speaking of meeting people the Jets Cowboys game,
he says, HI, beg Bob, Bob, hope to hear bet
next week. I don't know if he's talking about some
sort of a Jet Steelers better, a season better what.
I guess. We'll see what happens. But yes, Bob will
join us every Friday, and those will be previews. Will

(01:08:22):
allow Bob to make his prediction for the games if
he would like anything he'd like to share on a
week two week basis about the opponent, because we'll either
be mostly on the precipice, although we'll have one postgame
show with you, Bob, because the Jets do play a
thursdayight football game this year. I believe that's against the
New England Patriots later the season, so that one will
be recapping the game for the night before, but most
of the time it'll be a preview of the upcoming games.

(01:08:44):
There should be a lot of really cool moments there.
I'm looking forward to that. So thank you DNY for life.

Speaker 5 (01:08:48):
Appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
Oh look at this and Jets eighty two memberships are

Five raffle tickets for our contest. Baby, Thank you sir,

(01:10:04):
and welcome to the party. There you go, baby, that's
what I'm talking about. Five raffle tickets. Let's go back
to the phone lines. Man with the jet tattoo one
of your favorites.

Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
Bab Hey, Bob, how are you doing?

Speaker 7 (01:10:16):
Good morning, Carl? How are you you see?

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
I put my name there just so you, just for you.

Speaker 7 (01:10:21):
Hey, I'm not that old. I can remember your name
from week to week.

Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
No, I gave you credit because I didn't read that
at first. I just was looking at Man with the
jets in the eyes and I looked up, but I
didn't even see it on the headline. Then when you
said Carl, I'm like, whoa Bob? I would you ever
remembered it? Bob? You remembered it.

Speaker 7 (01:10:40):
Yes. I have to admit I've been walking around the
house all week going Carl Carl.

Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
I can appreciate that, Like, why are you chanting?

Speaker 7 (01:10:49):
Carl?

Speaker 4 (01:10:50):
I was thinking of shortening my jet tattoo name down
to Carl.

Speaker 7 (01:10:56):
You should stay with man with the jet stand tu
isn't that great?

Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Like?

Speaker 1 (01:11:00):
Hey, uh yeah, Man with the jet satoo? What's your name? Carl?

Speaker 6 (01:11:04):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Should I change it to Carl? Absolutely not Man with
the jet tattoo?

Speaker 4 (01:11:07):
Stay with what you got, Okay, we got it? Yeah. Anyway,
what I was gonna say was the new tight end
that we just picked up. Yes, I watched some highlights
on YouTube with this kid. If we can get that
out of him, what he did in his rookie season,
I'm gonna tell you, this kid may be the best

(01:11:27):
tight end we've ever had. Wow, he's he looks good.
And I know highlights are highlights, but man, this kid
can catch anything. We'll take a look at it later
if you get a chance, I will.

Speaker 1 (01:11:41):
Wow, you have that kind of takeaway off of some
I was.

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
I was very excited when I when I watched his highlights. Anyway,
and I'm glad they brought Smith up to the roster.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Yes, yes, very nice.

Speaker 9 (01:11:57):
And I.

Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
Don't think we're going out and getting the wide receiver too.
And I don't think we need one.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
Okay, there you go. Tell come on, man with I
like we need You're like, no, we don't come on?
Tell them why?

Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
Well that's my that's my because I think we got
enough wide receivers on a team.

Speaker 7 (01:12:16):
I think, like you like volume, you don't like quality.

Speaker 4 (01:12:21):
Well that's not the point. The point is what Nick
Farrier said. I don't think there's enough to go around,
even if we did bring in a number two. The
only the only reason you would bring in a number
two is in case Garrett Wilson went down correct that
that's you know, I'm just hoping he doesn't. But uh,

(01:12:42):
And talking about jerseys, the last jersey I bought was
a Mo Lewis and I and I still wear it.

Speaker 9 (01:12:53):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
The numbers are kind of coming off and things like that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
And uh, just came back up because speaking of that
book I just wrote, I believe mo Lewis has a
spot in the book about the whole Brady thing and
that poor bastard, what a player in Jet's history. And
he's over Bledsoe hit. He was aastized for that.

Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
That's the only thing I hold against them, Yeah, is
he put Brady. He put Brady on the map. You know,
thanks mo Yeah, thanks Mob.

Speaker 7 (01:13:26):
Well, fifty years from now people will remember that he's
the guy that put Brady on the field.

Speaker 4 (01:13:31):
I'm going to remember that forever.

Speaker 6 (01:13:34):
Yes, it's like.

Speaker 7 (01:13:35):
Who threw the who threw the home run ball to
Bobby Thompson somebody.

Speaker 1 (01:13:39):
Not only not only did he put Tom Brady in
the game, he almost killed Drew Bledsoe for concepts.

Speaker 4 (01:13:44):
Had we rushed to the hospital because of.

Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
Internal bleeding, people don't realize how serious that was for
bloodsoe go back people, that was he was in the
hospital for a hot second.

Speaker 4 (01:13:53):
I think his spleen fell out.

Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Yeah, I mean, and yeah, they had to rush to
get it. It was an emergency said situation. I'm not
kidding people, really look that story up if you don't
remember it back from the time. But yeah, Drew.

Speaker 4 (01:14:05):
Bloods I can remember the hit. I mean that thinking
is something that never left, never left my mind. That
hit was classic to me anyway.

Speaker 7 (01:14:15):
Uh well, then you probably remember the hit on Gifford too,
and in the in the fifties and left him on
the on the ground. They didn't know if he was
alive or not.

Speaker 4 (01:14:24):
I'm sorry, Bob. I was a little in the fifties
I was born.

Speaker 7 (01:14:28):
Probably have seen it.

Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
Oh yeah, I've seen it.

Speaker 7 (01:14:31):
Yeah, I've seen it. I wasn't I wasn't paying attention either,
but yeah, the hit that was felt around the world.

Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
Yeh, Hey, I don't know if you're interested, but I
can send you my I have a brand new Brett
Farm Jersey.

Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Oh yeah, there, do you go?

Speaker 4 (01:14:48):
That's what I does. Anybody does anybody want a Brett
Farm Jersey?

Speaker 1 (01:14:53):
I do have some multiple Brett Farve jerseys. By the way,
here's that drew bledsoe moo Lewis hit let's get this in.

Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
Oh oh my, this is more critical than the first.

Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
Now, oh man NATO's Jesus lou, Oh my god, that
is oh god Lewis that day.

Speaker 4 (01:15:18):
But you know, I wonder what maul Lewis is doing
these days.

Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
That's a good question. I don't outside of it. I
didn't read the interview he did because he has some
excerpt in that book that I just had in front
of my hand. So that's a good question. I don't know.
The Jets do a really good job. I can't remember
the reporter contributor that works for the Jets. He does
these articles. Where are they now? Like, what have they
been doing? What's up?

Speaker 4 (01:15:43):
Yeah, yeah, I am not I.

Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
Don't remember reading a recent one on mo Lewis. I'd
be good to sort of catch up with the with
the man.

Speaker 4 (01:15:50):
Yeah, and I'll tell you something. I got a little
disrespected on the Asmin show. Oh yeah, oh yeah, I
have I have what I think one of my favorite
collectibles is a box of Quebec crunt cereal, I think right,
So I called up Jake's show, because you know, Robbie

(01:16:11):
Sabo is on once in a while, once a week,
and he does a podcast with Wayne. He does he
does yep, yep, so I said, I said, listen, I
missed Robbie Sabo. I couldn't get a conversation with him.
He had left, and I wanted to get I want
to find some way to get my box of cereals
signed by Wayne Forrebet.

Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
That seems reasonable.

Speaker 4 (01:16:33):
Okay, it's got a it's got a fake signature on it,
you know one that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Right they superimposed?

Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:16:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:16:40):
So so as soon as I said that, people started, right,
you know, commenting, Oh, this guy just wants free autographs.
And you know, so Jake said to me, I said, hey,
I don't need any free autographs. I got autographs all
over the place, So let me see the auto. So

(01:17:00):
I start showing him the autographs and anyway, I said, listen,
you gotta tell Robbie Sabo next time he's on. I
want it. Anyway I can get in touch with Wayne Crebett.
I would send him the box. If he liked it enough,
he could keep it. Yeah, but I don't know if
anybody still has one of those.

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
I would imagine not. I don't think I would have
offered that. I mean, if he wanted, like, because I
know Wayne has done some of these events in the
past where he goes to like an autograph show. If
he wants fifty bucks or whatever, fine, so be it.
But I think that'd be a cool idam to actually
get autographed, because I would not be so willy nilly
if I were you to give it away, because I
don't think there's a lot of them still left intact
out there.

Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
I don't think there is either. But you know I would,
you know I would. I'd go to his house if
he wants me to come to his house and he
could sign it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
Sure, yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
You know, I don't know. Well, we'll have to see.
I'll wait and see if anybody has any ends with
Wayne Crevett. Tell him to give me a give a
shout out there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
I would love that.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
So anyway, listen, guys, we got a week to go.
I'm getting real excited. Uh I'm real excited about this
tight end. I don't want to talk about justin fields
and uh I I just want to wait for the game.

Speaker 7 (01:18:19):
You're you're right about that. The talk the talk, you know,
needs to kind of stop right now. Let's first of all,
what let him do it on the field.

Speaker 4 (01:18:28):
That's right. We can we can talk all we want,
we can make predictions. We just don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:18:35):
And he's going to be their guy. They're gonna give
him every operation long as an injury, he's gonna play.
He's gonna play every down because go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
I hate to say this, but I'm getting really nervous
now I have. I'm very optimistic about this season. But
what what would I think? What I think kill me
is if we went into this first game and played
like we played against the Giants, I would just I'd

(01:19:09):
die right there on the couch.

Speaker 7 (01:19:11):
Except that you have to look at who was playing
on the field.

Speaker 6 (01:19:14):
And in the words of I agree, in the words.

Speaker 7 (01:19:17):
Of the famous Papa Boy Green, they were playing against
guys who are now parking cars.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
That's true. But you know, being a Jet fan for
as long as I have, you just have to you
have to always have that little doubt in the back
of your mind that what if this happens.

Speaker 7 (01:19:35):
Well, injuries obviously can play a role, but I I
have gret a lot of faith in their defense.

Speaker 4 (01:19:41):
I do too, and their running game. I have a
lot of faith in them, but you can't. You can't
get that little bit of doubt. I can't anyway. I
have to see it to believe it. Let's put it
that way.

Speaker 7 (01:19:54):
I agree, I agree.

Speaker 1 (01:19:56):
I thank you man with the jet tattoo A ka
weekend to you. Yeah very much. So Hey, we've got
another super chat coming in from our buddy d n
Y for Live. So I appreciate the shekels that have
been being dropped in. I don't you very much, Dy
for Live super chet. Let's get a while for my daughter. Bob,

(01:20:19):
you may not remember me. This is from DNY for
Life aka Devon. I'm mister twelve and five floor. That
was his prediction. I love it. G I'm a Justin
Fields Truther enjoying the show. Thank you and all the
coffee club members j e ts Jets Jets jets. So
let's give him one of those shows, Bob. Do you

(01:20:42):
remember Devin, Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:20:44):
Absolutely, I remember. He was. He did not sleep well
that night.

Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
He did not.

Speaker 7 (01:20:49):
He didn't like the bed. It was very uncomfortable for him,
all right, And he told me that I was he
was he was not going to buy my book.

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
Yeah, I'm pessimistic.

Speaker 7 (01:21:00):
I was too negative. And when I was done that day,
my wife said, are you being too negative? Because that
guy certainly thinks you are, and I went, I'm just
telling it like it is used to say. I just
don't you know, I wish I could be very positive.
And again, I'm going to watch the games. I'm I'm hopeful.

(01:21:24):
I'm optimistic, but you know, this is professional football, and
I I really, I believe very strongly in coaching up
you know, young players, and that's what I think that
you know, Glenn will bring to the party more than
anything else because he's gonna be serious and he's going
to hold guys accountable. And uh so, I think we're

(01:21:49):
going to see you know, some very very capable, you
know efforts. Again, I don't know what they're going to
be able to do against the Buffalo. I don't know
how some of the other teams they have to play,
how well they're going to do week in and week out.
But I think as the season goes on, they will
get better. And you know, hey, anything can happen. A

(01:22:10):
tip pass here, a fumble there.

Speaker 1 (01:22:13):
Hey, Bob, the last time I checked, it's an oblong
shaped football. You know, and that bounces in all kinds
of interesting ways during a football season.

Speaker 7 (01:22:22):
I do remember you. I do remember you, all right,
and call in Dove because we get a lot to
talk about.

Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
Yeah apparently, so let me ask you, Bob. But any so,
you say that you're more you keep it real, you
you know, you call it how you see it. People
are asking you if you would be more optimistic at
any point in your life. Were you an optimistic guy?

Speaker 7 (01:22:45):
Wow? You know I have to tell you. When it
comes to the Jets, I was always a and I'm
still I still found myself this way. I'm a perfectionist.
When when they finished eleven and three the Super Bowl season,
during the regular season, I was ticked off that they
lost to Buffalo to Denver. Yeah, he should have been

(01:23:07):
thirteen and one. Sure, when they would win twenty three
to twenty one, I would say, should have won this
game thirty three to twenty one.

Speaker 1 (01:23:17):
You know, I not satisfied.

Speaker 7 (01:23:20):
I was never satisfied, you know, with the end result
unless it was dominant. I wanted them to be dominant.
Well they've never been except for the season they started
ten to one. They've never really been a dominant team.
So you know, and I'm the same way in all
the sports teams that I watch, I like I was.

(01:23:41):
I know, we don't like to talk about baseball here,
but watching Nolan McLain a couple of nights ago, extremely impressive,
quite extremely and three great you know starts three and
ow it's three starts. And I remember the guys whose
records he broke like they took last night. They mentioned

(01:24:02):
Dick Rustick. Wow, who won his who won his first
game as a shutout, and I think he was pitching well,
having a shutout second game and he started and then
he got hurt or whatever, and Dick Rustick was never
heard from again. Wow. And so tonight and you've seen
this because you're at all the Syracuse met home games. Yes,

(01:24:23):
Jonah Toong is starting tonight. Yes I'm very anxious. But
I woke up this morning and I said, wait a minute.
The Marlins don't strike out. The Marlins always get the
bat on the ball, and this guy's a strikeout specialist.
So what's going to happen in.

Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
On Rubbers meeting road, Bob Rubber meeting.

Speaker 7 (01:24:40):
Back the football. But anyway, yeah, I'm a perfectionist. I'm
I'm not fair that way to the teams I love
fair enough.

Speaker 1 (01:24:49):
By the way, to your wife for life. You have
thirty two raffles took to our contest. That is reflected
on our scrolling tickers. So thank you so much for
the support. Appreciate it. Thank you guys that allows me
to do so much more with the show. So appreciate
it every time you guys dip in to share in
on all the love. So there's a couple of comments
here we can highlight here. Bob. First off, I had
this one earlier, so I want to get back to

(01:25:09):
Ricky New York Live, who threw this up. BG. Let's
be honest. We were able to run on the ed
Olivers of the world. Jeffrey Simmons Canny Clark does not
scare me. However, Micah Parsons destroyed us when we played,
so he believes to that question from Badshaw earlier, that
that's a net positive ultimately for the Jets. So two
first round picks obviously don't affect the Jets this year,

(01:25:30):
and we only play the Cowboys basically once every four
years outside of rare circumstances, which this would be a
rare circumstance where they finished in the same place, and
thus they played each other only two years later, because
we did play during the twenty twenty three season. So
hey baby, we'll see what happens again.

Speaker 7 (01:25:46):
Mike Parson is even more dangerous when you have a
young quarterback, That's true, especially having a real veteran quarterback.
Who can you know, you know, you see these quarterbacks
point over here and point over there. Yeah, and it's
not just too you know, not just to gesticulate in
some directions to say, hey, he's over here now or
he's over there now. You make sure you're blocked.

Speaker 1 (01:26:06):
So anyway, let's go to another comment Troy Sturgis, who
sent in a super gener earlier Thank you. Troy read
an article saying our offensive line is at fifteenth overall.
Agree or disagree, Bob, We'll start with you.

Speaker 7 (01:26:18):
I would think it's a fair characterization. We're still looking
at a left tackle it was only in the second
year and didn't really play the entire season last year,
and a right tackle that has shown some vulnerability against
the past during the preseason. And the middle of the
line is pretty strong and pretty reliable because you got
veterans and you got Tippin who's played really well his

(01:26:39):
two years in the league. So I think beginning of
season at one to fifteen. Yeah, and hopefully they get
into the top ten or even better as the season
goes on.

Speaker 1 (01:26:49):
Well articulated. I couldn't have said it any better myself, Bob.
We're in terms of starting the season at fifteenth at
a thirty two teams. Basically, they're saying your average. All right,
that's fine, because here's the thing. Even if they called
the Jets number one last time I check, you don't
win an award for being a preseason number one in anything.
So fine, they want to put us fifteenth and make
the Jets prove themselves phenomenal and hopefully at some point

(01:27:11):
that they progress from this middle of the pack to
being a top ten unit, because I believe they do
have that kind of upside. It's a nice combination. But yes,
Olu Fashnu or Olumuiwa fashion his full name. He is
a guy that played a lot of different positions last year,
only got left tackle the end then had the foot
entry which compromised the last couple of games of the season.
So you know, he hasn't had a lot of run.

(01:27:32):
But I'm excited for his future. And arma member has
been slapped around a little bit, which I'm not concerned
with at all. That's what's going to happen offensive lineman.
But let's see sort of how they progress throughout the season.
Another comment here, this is from Yohomes. I may be
in the minority, but I really like our chances week one.
I really like. I really think we match up well
against Steers, as do why. There's a lot of things

(01:27:53):
that I think match up well with the Steers. Now,
Bob gave some some Stark analytics, some numbers they would
say some of the things they just want to do,
and what the Steelers' best shrinks are. Maybe a head
on head collision of two cars going sixty miles per
hour against each other and that might be ugly, and
a couple of those results. But there's a lot that
I like. Aaron Rodgers as rusty as hell. He didn't

(01:28:16):
play in the preseason. He showed up late to these programs. Anyway,
there's going to be a lot of those chemistry issues
that we saw with even the Jets last year, where
he wasn't always on the same page with his receivers,
which I think is good news for the Jets. So yeah,
if I'm a Jets fan, I'm feeling pretty good going
to that Week one game. Some people have written it
off like that's an automatical loss. I don't see that
at all. About don't see that.

Speaker 7 (01:28:37):
No, I don't either, and I but I said last week,
and I still rebelieve this. It comes down to our defense,
not theirs. It's our defense giving Fields chances because he
is sporadic in his in his abilities, and he may
look terrible on one series and the next series he
may come out there and just take him downfield. So

(01:29:00):
that's what I'm expecting, you know, like you're dealing with
a fifty to fifty situation when you have to rely
on Fields now late in the game. Fields has never
shown an ability when they're down ten points or fourteen
points in the fourth quarter to bring a team down.
But even then I think they're going to try to
run the ball, because if you can run the ball effectively,

(01:29:20):
you can still go down the field fairly quickly, not
obviously as quickly as the pass, but run three or
four times straight down, you know, straight up the gut
and get you know, twenty five thirty yards stack the defense,
and that's when you can hit Garrett or whoever wide
receiver number two or the tight end you know, and

(01:29:42):
you can get a big gainer. And that's the way
they're going to have to play. I have a lot
of confidence in Allen. I really think Alan is going
to be Jet fans.

Speaker 6 (01:29:51):
No. He can be a.

Speaker 7 (01:29:54):
Not a game breaker, but a real difference maker. And
I don't think the rest of the league is looking
at him that way quite yet. But let's see after
a game of three or four or five, you know,
when he's second or third in the league in attempts
and averaging five yards of carrier or something like that.
So we'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:30:13):
We have six hundred people in the room. Like the
video hit subscribe at the start of business, we're about
seventy people away from eight thousand subscribers. So people jump
on the train. If you're not there already, baby, we'd
appreciate it. As you have a super check coming in.
Let's squeeze this one in real quick. Before we get
back to the phone line's ear, Johnny Boy has a
very pressing question. Woh A member for thirteen months? Are

(01:30:38):
we going to Wayne's house as well? You noticed there
that our boy Carl aka man with the jet tattoo said, Hey,
if anyone's got a connection to Wayne Corbette, if you
can hook him up, that'd be great. He says. He
even volunteered he'd be willing to go to his house
to get this autograph. Should we be going to Bob?

Speaker 7 (01:30:58):
I think it might be a little bit over whelming
from Wayne?

Speaker 1 (01:31:01):
What open do.

Speaker 7 (01:31:05):
Your best chance? You know? With Wayne would obviously be
one on one and uh and warned ahead of time that.

Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
He's right now bum rushing him out.

Speaker 7 (01:31:15):
Carl is coming et a ten fifty five you know
this morning?

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
That's true? Oh my god, that's funny. All right, So
you guys have been having a good time. Let's go
to the phone lines here. Ah, your mama's favorite scholar.
Andy Jets joins us, what's up?

Speaker 7 (01:31:33):
Are you just gonna say? Where or where is Indy?

Speaker 4 (01:31:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:31:37):
I'm here, I'm here. Yeah, you know, I haven't gone.

Speaker 7 (01:31:41):
I saw Indy. I saw last week because my wife
showed me. You said something derogatory like why what is
this guy talking about? Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:31:51):
What was it this time? How boy?

Speaker 7 (01:31:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
That doesn't really narrow it down because about anybody to be.

Speaker 7 (01:31:58):
No, it doesn't. I could. I could probably go back
and find it, but it's not that important.

Speaker 11 (01:32:02):
Yeah, I want to know your guys' opinion. The Jets
released the six captains, right, yes.

Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
Yes, yeah, I think I have that image, So one second,
I'll get that up on the screen.

Speaker 11 (01:32:14):
Yeah, you got Fields and Garrett I agree with and
Sherwood okay, but I'm not real high on the other three.

Speaker 5 (01:32:24):
As being captains.

Speaker 6 (01:32:25):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
Yeah, did you let me ask you first, Bob? Did
you see who the new captains are for them?

Speaker 7 (01:32:31):
I was too busy on some other stuff yesterday. I
know they named the captains, and I think Garrett is
one of them and Fields is one of them.

Speaker 1 (01:32:40):
Yeah, here it is. I'll pop up this image here
on the screen so you guys can all see it
if you did not see it. The Jets elected six captains.
Last year, they only had three captains, one for each
of the respective positions, which was offense, defense, special teams.
But now they have six captains this year. They've doubled
their captainship. And here it is. Sorry for the delay, folks,

(01:33:01):
We'll pop this up right here. And yeah, we got
some representation from all over the place, so real quick,
Indy you said, who do you have a problem with
or who do you like out of this group? Did
you say, well, you know Avt is on there, and yeah,
there you go here it is everybody.

Speaker 5 (01:33:18):
Yeah, so you got you know, of course, of course
Quinnon is on there.

Speaker 1 (01:33:23):
Yeah, so let's reveal it for the people that because
we have audio on the listener, so I'll read it
out to everyone again. The Jets elected or nominated six captains.
This was voted on by the team. Here they are
quarterback Justin Fields, wide receiver Garrett Wilson, linebacker Jamie and Sherwood,
defensive tackle Quinn Williams, offensive lineman Elijahiah Tucker, and special
teamer and also linebacker Marcelino McCrary Ball. That was the

(01:33:46):
six that were voted on by the team. Go ahead, Indy.

Speaker 11 (01:33:49):
I think Avt and Ball are the ones that I
haven't the biggest question. The other four are you know,
are probably non issues. But I'm just not a big
fan of a v T.

Speaker 6 (01:34:01):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (01:34:02):
You know, you've got to be on the field, and uh,
you know, he's the injuries that he's had and he's missed.
You know, now he's going to be up for a contract,
and I don't know, and maybe again, the coaching staff
knows more than we do. We've agreed, you know, we've
talked about that. So if av T isn't, is that

(01:34:22):
kind of later I get it. But then again, it
was the people.

Speaker 1 (01:34:26):
It was his teammates who voted on him. So the
coaches did not pick this. The teammates apparently, according to
the Jets' website, they voted on this privately behind the teams.

Speaker 11 (01:34:35):
Yeah, so I guess if if a b T is
has now been voted by the players, you know, that
probably is uh is the indication that between Simpson and
a v T, who's going to get the contract?

Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
Maybe? Yeah, I mean they don't. It's not player voted
for who gets contracts, but maybe I mean.

Speaker 11 (01:34:55):
He's if he makes that much of an impact to
on the team voters. Yeah maybe sure then then and
it's nothing against Simpson.

Speaker 7 (01:35:04):
But if a v T.

Speaker 11 (01:35:06):
I didn't I really didn't expect a v T to
be on there, but I didn't either. You know, again,
they know more, you know, the players and the coaches
and the people than inside the building. No more than
we do as far as the daily that probably is
more of an indicator that a v T out of
the two guards. If we're going to sign one, AVT

(01:35:27):
is the captain here, he's probably going to be the
one to get signed.

Speaker 5 (01:35:32):
I don't know, that's just my well.

Speaker 7 (01:35:33):
I don't want to be a wise guy about it.
But av T is always on the field, except when
they have to play in Denver.

Speaker 5 (01:35:40):
There's that, that's true.

Speaker 7 (01:35:42):
Thankfully they played Denver. But' and they played Denver. But
it's at home this year?

Speaker 1 (01:35:46):
No, No, it's in London, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (01:35:50):
Overseas?

Speaker 1 (01:35:51):
Yeah, let me see, let me confirm that. Yes, the
Week six game is the London game, so thank god
to the Overlords. Although it would have been a Jets
home game anyway, so it wouldn't have been in Denver
no matter what the circumstance was. But thank god overseas.
Hopefully that's a safer place for ABC and his family
to go.

Speaker 7 (01:36:07):
And I don't really know, but the all the soccer
fields over there, are they pure grass or they do
what the NFL does and are using the artificial.

Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
That's a good question. I believe they're grass fields. But
let me see, I can't remember which ones the Jets
are playing after this London game. They got a couple
of different London locations over there show. I'm not sure
if it's hot and spur or where it is. Okay,
there you go. It's all grass. You heard there from Indy, So.

Speaker 7 (01:36:33):
Yeah, So I don't know if that helps her or
hurts you know, in the old day, is grass fields terrible?
People tearing up their their knees and all that sort
of stuff now terrible.

Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:36:46):
Let's go to artificial.

Speaker 11 (01:36:47):
Turf because that will solve the problem. I didn't solve them,
but you know, aren't you? Are you a little disappointed
at Sauce didn't make a captain?

Speaker 7 (01:36:55):
Yes, I would. I would have thought that him and
his leadership ability there and the fact that you know,
let's when you get past the line, the defensive line,
he is the leader back there. I don't know who
is actually calling the signals for the defense?

Speaker 9 (01:37:11):
Is it?

Speaker 6 (01:37:11):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (01:37:11):
What is?

Speaker 7 (01:37:14):
And that's and that's why he's a captain for sure.

Speaker 6 (01:37:18):
You know.

Speaker 7 (01:37:18):
I think I think they gave it to Garrett because
they wanted to kind of keep him on an even keel,
because I think it's gonna be a tough season in
sports for him this year. Not getting the ball as
often as he'd like.

Speaker 1 (01:37:31):
But and he's more demonstrative. Uh, and I don't mean
that in a bad way, but like he's just passionate winning.
He's very like Saw seems more reserved from everything I see.
Body again, I'm not inside the building, but body language wise,
in game stuff, there doesn't seem to be a lot
of activity with Soft whether good or bad. You guys
take that which you will. But Garrett is very demonstrative,

(01:37:52):
and I think that resonates with the teammates. I think
it's another reason that he capture their interest.

Speaker 7 (01:37:57):
And if you and if you believe what you've read
about how the team has really coalesced around Fields, then
you see why Fields is Fields. Yeah, it's an extra
vote of confidence in him for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:38:10):
So what makes you what makes you think that Garrett's
not going to get his targets?

Speaker 7 (01:38:14):
You said he's going to have it because I think
Field's going to have trouble getting him the ball?

Speaker 5 (01:38:18):
Well, did he have trouble getting DJ Moore the ball?

Speaker 6 (01:38:22):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (01:38:23):
Well, let me just pull up. I mean it's a
don good question.

Speaker 11 (01:38:32):
I mean, if he I mean, let's go by what
he what he's done, And I mean, do you have
trouble getting Dj Moore the ball on a much worse
team than what he's got.

Speaker 7 (01:38:43):
Justin Fields was run out of Chicago.

Speaker 1 (01:38:46):
They your you live in Chicago, right, yes, yeah, and
you're the numbers real quick. There's a lot of people
that really like fields there. Okay, so justin Fields gets
a lot of crap. But let's go to Dj Moore here.
During the twenty twenty three season, his quarterback for the
majority of that season was justin Fields. He set a

(01:39:06):
new career high in receiving yards and touchdowns. I mean,
look at all the numbers that are on your screen
of like new career highs, and ninety six catches at
the time was a new career high. He was able
to top that in the next season with a different quarterback,
But so catches, yards, and touchdowns all at the time,
yards and touchdowns those records still whole, but catches no

(01:39:26):
longer does.

Speaker 7 (01:39:27):
That was a season one here, and I just happened
to have this because I Okay, Bears accuracy the last
year he was with the Bears. Yeah, on on target
percentage seventy one point five, sixth worst in the league.
Not that's and it said here this was not a

(01:39:47):
number influenced by wide receivers. But if the pressure is
high and he didn't have the offensive line there, that
he should have had bad throw percentage nineteen percent six.
First they said this is near the bottom in the NFL.

Speaker 6 (01:40:04):
But it is.

Speaker 7 (01:40:05):
But like the previous said, that is influenced by pressure.

Speaker 12 (01:40:08):
Sore though, well that's where I'm getting But the netfl
But but hold on, I'm not disagreeing with you, indeed,
but the net effect is was he an effective quarterback?

Speaker 7 (01:40:23):
You can't just look at was he able to get
the ball to DJ Moore? Was he able to do
this or do that? You have to look at his
his net impact, you know, at the quarterback position. And
again Young quarterback in Tampa.

Speaker 11 (01:40:37):
Young was not an effective quarterback in Tampa because Tampa,
the rest of.

Speaker 5 (01:40:41):
The team around him was terrible.

Speaker 7 (01:40:43):
You couldn't. You can't.

Speaker 11 (01:40:44):
If you put you put Patrick Mahomes on that Chicago team,
He's not Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 7 (01:40:49):
You're right, you're right. If he had been drafted, if
he had been drafted by the Bears, they would have
ruined him. He would never have become the player he is.
And so.

Speaker 1 (01:41:00):
To End's point, though he's not saying that Justin Field
should have went to the Hall of Fame based on
what he did in Chicago Bears twenty twenty three. But
he's saying is, despite whatever flaws people perceive Justin Fields
to have, and he pointed out some of those numbers.
DJ Moore had a superstar wide receiver one season where
nearly one hundred reception, thirteen hundred yards and eight touchdowns.
And if he was able to do it, then why

(01:41:22):
can't he get Garrett Wilson his stuff now? And I
don't think he's saying anything of else, whatever else you
want to say about Justin Fields in this upcoming season,
but specifically on getting Garrett Wilson the ball, which seemed
to be his point of contention with you, Bob, is
that he says, look, he got it to DJ Moore,
he could get him his numbers. Again. Who knows what
that's going to mean for wins and everything else, but
just specifically to that point, that's what Garrett can do.

Speaker 6 (01:41:42):
It's not if.

Speaker 5 (01:41:44):
Fields can do that on a bad team.

Speaker 11 (01:41:46):
And one thing about Fields, when he was at Ohio
State and he showed it there when he showed it,
and he showed it in Chicago. When he likes a receiver,
whether it's you know it was when it was Ohio State,
it was actually a lava that he liked.

Speaker 5 (01:42:00):
He threw more too than he did Garrett.

Speaker 11 (01:42:02):
But and then in Chicago, he trusts him, He's going
to throw it up there and say, okay, you know,
I believe you're going to exceed the fifty to fifty ball,
so and giving them and give them more of a chance.
And with Garrett, I think Garrett's a better receiver than
DJ Moore.

Speaker 7 (01:42:21):
I do too, but I I, you know, I keep
repeating things, and I feel bad about that. But I
remember his first game. His first game with DJ Moore
was preseason, and it was on a Saturday, and so
I didn't see it live, but I watched it Saturday night,
and I'd seen the statistics that that Fields had gone

(01:42:43):
two for three in the first quarter. You know, then
he took him out of the game for one hundred
and thirty two yards. And I watched the first quarter
and his first pass to DJ Moore was a swing
pass that DJ Moore took ninety seven yards for. So
you know, that wasn't exactly hitting a guy when he

(01:43:04):
was wide open. But he Nick Ferrier reported, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
Real quick, guys, we have breaking news for the New
York Jets. Baby, let's go, let's go to it. Here
we go. Here's your new addition to the practice squad.
Say hello to cornerback Cory Black. Baby, he has joined
us on the practice squad. There you see him on
your screen. Here is some details on the Jets newest edition.

(01:43:34):
This just broke a few minutes ago.

Speaker 6 (01:43:37):
Here you go.

Speaker 1 (01:43:38):
Corey Black. He's six foot flat, one hundred ninety two pounds.
He was the seventh round pick of the New York
Giants in the twenty twenty four NFL Draft. Who played
sixty two games at Oklahoma State, recording one hundred tackles,
twenty five pass deflections for interceptions, three fumble recovers, and
two horse fumbles, and as a super senior, he had
twelve pds and three picks. In the preseason play, Black,

(01:43:58):
at Kansas City native had two and one, a couple
of defensive stops and special team spots. He did make
the initial Giants fifty three man roster, but was waived
after additional moves were made. So there you go, a
new addition for the Jets practice squad.

Speaker 7 (01:44:17):
Indeed, who do you think they're going to cut from
the fifty three?

Speaker 1 (01:44:20):
It's your prediction for that. So Brandon Smith's on the
roster right now, Indy, But they have fifty four players
on that roster right now. Obviously that can't hold. Someone
has to get booted off the island. Who's getting voted
off the island for Brandon Smith?

Speaker 11 (01:44:32):
Who's that sixth interior offensive lightman? I don't have the
list in front.

Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
Of Oh, like on the Jets fifty three, it would.

Speaker 7 (01:44:39):
Be technically be Pole. He'd be the last guy they
put on.

Speaker 1 (01:44:42):
Yeah, well, I believe he plays tackle. So if you're
talking about interior, let me pile that up.

Speaker 11 (01:44:47):
It may not even Yeah, I would say it's it's
that one probably that one offensive line. Okay, So I'm
not I don't have it in front of me. I
can't remember what his name that I davior Newman. It
could be Newman. I don't, Yeah, you know, I don't,
but you know, I don't see. I don't see that

(01:45:09):
that we're going to carry that. What do we got
ten offensive linemen?

Speaker 6 (01:45:13):
We do?

Speaker 13 (01:45:13):
We do have ten right now, I believe, yeah, And
I think they've set themselves up because with with Tipman
being able to move over, with Myers coming in a center,
they don't need that many you know, uh, that many.

Speaker 11 (01:45:30):
They don't need to carry that many offensive line. So
I think it's going to be an offensive lineman.

Speaker 1 (01:45:34):
But yep, they do have ten. They do have ten
as it currently stands right now, at this moment time,
they have ten on the fifty three man roster.

Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:45:42):
Indeed, injury including injuries. What are your expectations of the
new tight end they got from Indianapolis?

Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
And before you answer that, Eddie, real quick, just for
people asking about Mark, he says he's on the practice squad,
so we can't be cut. Well, I mean, he guess
he could be cut, but that's not a roster thing.
Just to answer that real quick, I.

Speaker 5 (01:45:58):
Don't, I don't.

Speaker 11 (01:45:58):
I don't think he makes I don't think he makes
that much of an impact. You know, I don't think
he'll make a noticeable impact. You know, he's not going
to be a game changer.

Speaker 6 (01:46:09):
He's not.

Speaker 5 (01:46:09):
I don't.

Speaker 11 (01:46:10):
I don't see him going to you know, uh, being
when in a in a hurry up offense in the
last two minutes of the game.

Speaker 5 (01:46:17):
He's not gonna be on the field.

Speaker 7 (01:46:21):
Because how new, because of how new he is to
the team.

Speaker 11 (01:46:25):
Well, no, I I think that if you're gonna as
the tight end, you're gonna you're gonna have Taylor on there,
and you're probably gonna have the fullback in there, and uh,
and if you need another pass catching tight end, you're
gonna put probably Smart out there first. And so you know,

(01:46:46):
I don't see him making a huge impact. You know,
maybe he maybe he blocks better than record, I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:46:54):
I don't they say, you know, his his blocking is
not one of his strengths. He's adequate.

Speaker 11 (01:47:00):
So yeah, and that's but it's still even adequate, it's
probably still better than a rocker, you know.

Speaker 7 (01:47:08):
Of the three of the three guys, of the three
waiver pickups they made, I think the one that's going
to make the greatest impressions the linebacker who will play
special teams because they lost some very key special teams guys.

Speaker 11 (01:47:19):
Yeah, that's about the and I agree with there there
we agree, Bob. I think that's about the one that
that that could make a noticeable impact. You know, but
as far as the tight end, and uh, they got
an offensive linement too, right.

Speaker 7 (01:47:36):
Yeah, pool or Pole. Yes, yes, but they said he's
a device, a huge guy, but he's the development.

Speaker 1 (01:47:44):
Guy seven you know.

Speaker 5 (01:47:49):
The key things to meet impact.

Speaker 7 (01:47:51):
Yeah. The key thing to me that I read was again,
even against guys who are now parking cars, nobody nobody
got a sack and nobody even got a pressure against
him in preseason. So there's there's something to work with there.

Speaker 11 (01:48:04):
Come upside, Yeah, sure, sure, yeah, but no, I I
think you're you're going to see you know, you're going
to see the fullback in there as that second tight end.
You know, we're going to be more of a running team. Uh,
the game plan is, and so he's gonna fit more
uh into that role of a swing tight end full

(01:48:27):
back where if they need to you know, uh, they're
going to need that extra blocking on especially on the
right side, on the right side of the line, They're
gonna they're gonna need a little bit of that extra
Philly said it earlier, chipping you know, they're going to
need that, probably more so than anything that other tight
end could bring.

Speaker 7 (01:48:48):
So do you what's your level of concern if Pittsburgh
or anybody else stacks the box and Dar's fields.

Speaker 11 (01:48:54):
To throw I hope they do that. I mean, you know,
BG said it earlier. They're going if they double, if
they double gett and bring nine to the box, well,
you know then you you know, you can't do that
with with a with a good tight end. And uh
and and we've got you know, two good running backs
that can catch the ball out of the field, out

(01:49:16):
of the backfield, you know. And that one play last
year when when Brice Hall came to UH Rogers and said,
if they run their linebacker out when they remember when
when Hall went.

Speaker 5 (01:49:30):
Out split out wide.

Speaker 11 (01:49:33):
Game, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, and he said, if just
throw me the ball, if they run the linebacker out there,
just throw me the ball. And you know that's some
backyard play. They could have continued to do stuff like that.
And I think that was the last time they ever
did anything like that. Uh, you know. And and and
with Pittsburgh, when how you beat an aggressive offense is
quick screens, tight ends and and and a lot of movement.

(01:49:55):
And yeah, they're gonna they bring nine to the box.
Well you bring brace out the side. Who's going to
catch him?

Speaker 1 (01:50:02):
Good luck?

Speaker 5 (01:50:04):
I mean, as great as good as t. J.

Speaker 11 (01:50:07):
Watt is, you know, he's not going to catch him
if Bres is already on the move eight ten yards
away from him and he's you know, so my point,
you know, they'll they'll figure out how to slow that defense,
how to slow that pressure down with some screens and
some tight end movement and some running backs passing or

(01:50:27):
passing out out to the running backs, and that'll slow
that passionate. And if they double Garrett, you know, and
I'm still really big on Aaron Smith. You know, he's
worked on his one negative that everybody talked about was
his drops. Nobody talked about all the good things that
the kid could do. And what the what somebody what
a burner does is hold your safeties deep. Dylan and I,

(01:50:51):
Dylan Tarriman and I were talking about this. A good
burner on the outside with a good wide receiver like
Garrett on the other side. Even if you're not throwing
the ball to Smith, you're you're holding them safety. You're
holding that safety deep because if you put Arian Smith
one on one and pull a safety in, he's going
and Fields will just continue to throw it until they
stop it. And and if his drop issues are fixed,

(01:51:16):
you know, we no Fields has got a really nice
deep ball. So it's just a matter of throwing it
up there. Uh So they're not going to be able
to stack the box if they put somebody, you know,
uh Arian out here on the opposite side of getting.

Speaker 1 (01:51:30):
Right, they're gonna have to make business decisions, right.

Speaker 11 (01:51:33):
And so now you're holding a safety deep and if
you're double and Garrett, So now you've got four players,
four defensive players covering two offensive players. That's what you
want as you know, as a as a coach, as
an offensive coach, you know. And and with the two
running backs that we have, I think that that's that's

(01:51:53):
that's how you slow that that Pittsburgh, even Buffalo. I
think Buffalo is going to have a you know, one
of the best defensive lines in the league.

Speaker 7 (01:52:05):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 11 (01:52:07):
You know you're gonna have to you know, you're gonna
go from Pittsburgh and right right straight into Buffalo. And
so the same game plan better work if it. If
it doesn't work in Pittsburgh, it's not working in Buffalo either.

Speaker 7 (01:52:20):
That's probably you're sure, yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:52:22):
But yeah, So that's that's all.

Speaker 11 (01:52:24):
I that's I was going to ask you about the
those ugly ass uniforms that they Jets released, but Philly
brought it up.

Speaker 5 (01:52:31):
Those are those are terrible? Yeah, yeah, those are just
absolutely terrible.

Speaker 1 (01:52:38):
So I guess it'd be great to see Bob potentially
wearing that jersey, which, by the way, real quick, I
know we have Philly noodles here. You had something to say,
I don't know if it's jersey related. Sorry, no much.

Speaker 6 (01:52:51):
Yeah, I want to. I wanted to first of all,
those jerseys, all right, man, come on, come on.

Speaker 1 (01:52:55):
I thought they look really good personally.

Speaker 6 (01:52:57):
But I hope when we meet at the bar at
one point, brom.

Speaker 7 (01:53:03):
And see for yourself.

Speaker 11 (01:53:04):
Well, I was got you know, we were talking about this,
you know, on Discord and all that, about the draft.
We've got our draft on Sunday, you know, and we're
trying to figure out how to get all twelve people
whatever on here. And I said, I'll just I'll just
drive up to Charlotte and uh, you know, we'll just
use one live stream we had all.

Speaker 6 (01:53:24):
Honestly. Oh yeah, so real quick, real quick.

Speaker 9 (01:53:27):
Uh So to everyone's point, like with the second receiver thing, Bob,
let's just put it to rest for everybody thinks we
don't need it. Uh, let's just review all the good
teams in the NFL with two receivers that are pretty good.

Speaker 6 (01:53:38):
Okay, I don't know. Let's go Washington they just traded
for one Deebo and McLaurin. I don't know. Let's go
Cowboys receiving cork Pickens and Lamb. I don't know. Let's
just say the Eagles. They just won the Super Bowl.
I don't know. They got some guy named Brown and
some guy named Smith. Oh, I don't know. Let's just
keep going down the list. That's this Higgins. I don't

(01:54:01):
know what he's talking about.

Speaker 7 (01:54:06):
Yeah, what are we talking about?

Speaker 4 (01:54:09):
Brown?

Speaker 7 (01:54:09):
What are we talking about in Pittsburgh?

Speaker 6 (01:54:12):
Well, yeah, yeah, I feel bad for them.

Speaker 9 (01:54:14):
So well, they got Aaron Rodgers, so with one Achilles,
he'll get it done. I'll figure it out. But uh yeah, man, yeah,
I listen, everybody's gotta stop. You need a second receiver.
They know it.

Speaker 6 (01:54:27):
They're they're not dumb.

Speaker 9 (01:54:28):
The Jets are playing her hand with what they had,
and they'll figure it out if it's not this season. Listen,
we're not predicting a Super Bowl. But everybody's undefeated starting.

Speaker 6 (01:54:37):
Week one, so you never know.

Speaker 1 (01:54:39):
So we're in first place, is what you're saying.

Speaker 6 (01:54:41):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 9 (01:54:42):
Rest my case, Well, we're not last, exactly, We're not last,
and we're all in Super Bowl contentions.

Speaker 5 (01:54:48):
Yeah yeah, Philly, tell me you don't like Area Smith, No, no,
I do.

Speaker 9 (01:54:53):
I just my problem is, just imagine, like you were mentioning,
I hope he, you know, takes the top off, but
that first dru up, they're coming for him, Bro, They're
coming and we'll see what he's made out of off
that first drop, because then the defense don't need to
worry about him if he drops the ball. So as
long as he hits that first catch, that first bomb
that gets thrown to him, then it'll yes like that

(01:55:15):
whole that sideline will probably lose their mind. They're ever living.
Gosh damn gerd bananas is like Bega said, they will.
But if he drops that ball, Garrett better used to
that captain, see captain and just be like listen, quo here.

Speaker 6 (01:55:28):
Bro, I got you.

Speaker 7 (01:55:29):
I don't worry about topping the ball. I worry about
fields getting him, getting him the ball, even though that's
his strength he's throwing.

Speaker 6 (01:55:37):
I think he'll throw a cannon ball out there. I
just I don't know if the kid's going to bring
it in and on top of it that one on
one matchup.

Speaker 9 (01:55:44):
If he does get like let's say, if the ball
does come up a little bit of rye out his hand,
can he come out and get a sideline cash?

Speaker 6 (01:55:52):
Can he come across the middle and die behind behind
himself and grab it?

Speaker 9 (01:55:56):
Wilson could do that that the top wide receivers can
their agilities top ten.

Speaker 6 (01:56:01):
I don't know if his agility to his speed is there.
We know his speed's there. Agility and speed are two
different things.

Speaker 7 (01:56:07):
Indeed, you have a lot of confidence in Allen the
way I do.

Speaker 5 (01:56:13):
To be a number two, Yes, well, to.

Speaker 7 (01:56:16):
Be to be the difference maker on third and short
in particular, A.

Speaker 11 (01:56:21):
Big bruising is a big bruising He's a big bruising
running back. So you know, if you're gonna if you're
gonna hand the ball off and you need that solid
one yard uh, Alan's probably the choice.

Speaker 6 (01:56:35):
Mh. It has to be the choice.

Speaker 11 (01:56:37):
Yeah, I mean over Breeze. I mean that's the guy
you want. I mean he's what two hundred and forty yeah, yeah,
he's fifty yeah yeaheah.

Speaker 5 (01:56:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:56:50):
And I don't know if they've actually come out with
the new weights bg of they have, But you know
he was two thirty Allen was two thirty five last.

Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
Year when he was drapped. Correct.

Speaker 11 (01:57:02):
Yeah, So if he's pushing two fifty now and and
and when and when Breece was on here, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
Maybe not to the roster sheets, it still says two
thirty five, that's not accurate.

Speaker 11 (01:57:13):
He looks buff too, I mean, he looks brief, looks
like he put on a little bit. And if Alan
put on another ten ten plus pounds and not slowed
down any that's a that's a that's a bruising combination. Absolutely,
you're gonna give that two hundred and fifty pounds running back,
Go get me one yard? Allen's is a one?

Speaker 4 (01:57:32):
Could he be?

Speaker 11 (01:57:35):
I don't think he's capable of being an every down back?

Speaker 7 (01:57:38):
Okay? And who you're gonna who's he gonna run behind
most of the time, he or or a breeze.

Speaker 5 (01:57:46):
What do you mean as far as what what part
of the.

Speaker 7 (01:57:49):
Line is he gonna come off guard of one of
the tackles And if.

Speaker 11 (01:57:53):
You're you're gonna see Alan in the in the in
between the tackles, that that's that's that's his you know,
but I don't think you're gonna see Breee. You know,
I think you're I think you're gonna see bree running
off tackle and you're gonna see you're gonna see Alan
running between the tackles.

Speaker 7 (01:58:11):
He's gonna pick his whole.

Speaker 9 (01:58:13):
Tis his top ten play last year, people forget Tipman
was that guy.

Speaker 6 (01:58:17):
He's gonna do it again this season. I'm telling right, yeah,
for sure.

Speaker 11 (01:58:24):
Okay, beautiful, I'll catch up with you and maybe we
can if we're gonna get we can get together Sunday.

Speaker 6 (01:58:31):
And do this draft. Yeah, I started up a team's group.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:58:36):
Yeah, we'll have to test that out. Yes, yes, yes, and.

Speaker 7 (01:58:39):
You're up to it. Some gentleman's bets next week, you
know what.

Speaker 11 (01:58:44):
Yeah, I was gonna make the bet of whatever, whatever
the bet is, Bob. If I lose, I'll just buy
the book so that way, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:58:53):
There you go, that's a that's a beautiful And if.

Speaker 7 (01:58:54):
You will let you be on on every every Friday,
then I'm on.

Speaker 5 (01:58:58):
Wow, you know that's a that's an honor in itself,
right there.

Speaker 1 (01:59:02):
Wow, beautiful, Well, Indy, thank you so much better.

Speaker 5 (01:59:05):
Good to see you guys.

Speaker 11 (01:59:06):
Have a great, have a great holiday. You know, if
you know, Bob, you know you you've you've celebrated more
of these holidays than than beg.

Speaker 7 (01:59:17):
And I have, but got my flag ready for Monday morning.

Speaker 11 (01:59:24):
Absolutely, let's let's uh, let's also not forget why we celebrate.

Speaker 5 (01:59:28):
This holiday, of course.

Speaker 1 (01:59:29):
Absolutely, thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:59:30):
All right, guys, have a great weekend. We'll talk to
you later.

Speaker 1 (01:59:33):
There is Indye Jets joining us uh here on the show.
That is important to remember. We have over six hundred
people in the room. Like the video hit subscribe. We
have a super check coming in, Bob, and I don't
think you're gonna like this at all, but nonetheless, people
pay money. I will put most things on the screen
as long as they're not incredibly offensive. I believe in freedom.

(01:59:54):
Sending a five dollars super chat. Thank you, Paul. Please
bring people who are more positive. It's annoying to hear
all this negativity. Why is jet fans we have to
be so effing negative? Let's bleep and go jets. Bob
your response.

Speaker 7 (02:00:11):
Calling it like it is? Hey, really, I mean if
certain weaknesses and vulnerabilities are pretty apparent to everybody, and
it's not just me, I mean I listen to the
reporters and the guys who are watching practices and seeing
what's going on and hearing, you know, what's going on

(02:00:32):
in the locker room and that sort of thing. Look,
everybody is not an all pro. Everybody is not healthy
every week, and every team has its strengths and its weaknesses.
The best teams, you know, are the ones that can
get through the season with the least amount of injuries
and still be very effective at what they do best.

(02:00:54):
This is a complete, well not a complete rebuild, but
it's a very heavy rebuild with a new concept on offense,
and there'll be a new concept or an adjusted con
concept on defense. I don't consider it negative. I consider
it being trying to be, you know, honest about the thing.
And I hope I'm wrong. I hope that they go

(02:01:16):
seventeen to er. But reality is what reality is. And
Glenn wasn't walked in here and hired to take over
a team that's going to dominate. He's got to build.
And they asked him, and they asked Mouji, and they
both said the same thing. We're very comfortable with the
you know, the new people we've brought in and what
their capabilities are. So I hope you'll, you know, not

(02:01:40):
take what I say as being negative, but trying to
be honest about the whole thing. Justin fields is you know,
is not the greatest quarterback in the league or even
in the truck technic league.

Speaker 1 (02:01:53):
You know, Mike, he's the greatest quarterback of the legaty.

Speaker 7 (02:01:56):
He might be at the end of the year, but
you know, show me. I got a new phrase for you.
I'm not from Missouri, but show me anyway.

Speaker 6 (02:02:08):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (02:02:09):
We're gonna see if we can pick up some steed
with that. So Bob, So, what you're saying is these people,
despite your wife showing you some of these comments and
things that this, these comments like this are not going
to change your the way you are. You're going to
continue to be who you are.

Speaker 7 (02:02:24):
About hasn't happened in seventy three years. I doubt it's
gonna happen now. But I believe in freedom.

Speaker 1 (02:02:30):
Call in, call me out, tell me, tell me how
I'm wrong.

Speaker 7 (02:02:34):
About some of these guys that I'm you know, not
that thrilled about. Look at me, three waiver pickups. So
you think that these three guys that they brought in
are gonna be game changers. I mean, that's not realistic.
You've picked up guys that weren't good enough to make
other teams. I mean, that's that's really what it's about.

(02:02:54):
And one of them I really except for the linebacker
from Kansas City, who I think will help on special teams.

Speaker 1 (02:03:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:03:01):
My greatest hope is that the tackle that they got
develops into something special, because they said he really looked
outstanding and infecting. At Washington State, where he played, he
was considered one of the very best offensive tackles in
the whole country. Yeah, he didn't get drafted, so there's
something there that that the pro Scotts thought needed a

(02:03:22):
lot of work on. Kansas City was very happy with
how he played in pre season, and they've admitted they
tried to sneak him through.

Speaker 1 (02:03:31):
Yeah, they and they thought they got him, which was
again a funny. I don't know if it's funny to
cheat people, what it was funny to us. They thought
they successfully, you know, once a player in theory clears waivers,
that they could get it back to the practice squad.
So sf Pol was packing his bags because he thought
he was going back to Kansas City and all of
a sudden, they were like, uh, actually you've been claimed
by the Jets, and then he had to change around
and media members are going, what's going on here. There's

(02:03:53):
a lot of hoopla that happened there for sf pol.

Speaker 7 (02:03:55):
So he's going to look better in green than he
would have been read one.

Speaker 1 (02:03:58):
Hundred percent screw of the Chiefs. But I believe in freedom.
You got yourself a raffle ticket, your dollarway from another one.
So thank you for your freedom and your super chat.

Speaker 7 (02:04:06):
Bob next week and get me hell give me hell.

Speaker 1 (02:04:10):

Speaker 1 (02:04:54):
I appreciate that, Bob. Thank you very much.

Speaker 7 (02:04:57):
Me as a viewer during the week, most of the time.

Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
I know you were you were just citing things from
the Nick Ferry conversation on Monday, so I know, and.

Speaker 7 (02:05:05):
You know, guys guys like that, you know, you got
to pay attention to. There are other guys that I
see on Jake all the time, but there are guys
that you can rely on to give you the scoop
and to really be honest with you. And the guy
like Nick is you know, he said, Hey, you know,
I've seen this, I've seen this, I've seen this.

Speaker 1 (02:05:24):
Practice, right, Yeah, So it's great. Well, Bob, I want
to thank you so much for joining us again. When
you join us next week, we will be talking about
the Jet Steelers game being two and a half days away,
and that's going to be incredible. So, Bob, regardless of
what some people say about the optimism or pessimism that

(02:05:46):
you bring, I just love that you bring it that
intangible quality that is Bob Leederer baby here on the program.
So thank you, as always for being so generous with
your time.

Speaker 7 (02:05:56):
Well, I appreciate the opportunity to appear. You know, even
even my wife says to me, you know, you have
a little extra perk in your step after you've been
on Old Okay with Boy Green. I said, Hey, it's
nice to feel like you've got something to say that
people respect and care to listen about. And I'm learning
a lot from watching and hearing from guys like Philly

(02:06:19):
and Indy and Carl and some of the other regulars.
And I'd like to interact more with a lot of
the other regulars so I see during the week.

Speaker 1 (02:06:29):
So I'd like to give two thank you so one
to you, Bob and apparently one to your wife for
your engine being revved immediately after this. You're welcome and
thank you, so thank you everybody for tuning in. I
will actually have an interview coming up in a little
bit with Randy Lang, the senior contributor for the New
York Jets. Randy's one of my favorites. He's been around
the team forever, covering this team for a very long time,

(02:06:51):
so we'll have some stuff out on that heading into
your Labor Day weekend, and I'll be doing my live
Fantasy Draft tonight and then hop on Pop you guys
can hear all about the Mic and Parson stuff from
the Horse's Mouth that'll be coming up this weekend with
a couple of shows. Bob, Thanks, Paul, appreciate you, and.

Speaker 7 (02:07:06):
We're right back at you.

Speaker 1 (02:07:08):
There we go. Thanks everybody, We'll see you
