Thank you everybody for all your support. Boom Shaka lacka,
It's gonna be it's gonna be a great month. We've
got some awesome prizes up for grabs. Now let's get
into it, baby. We got a full article on the

(06:36):
YouTube description down below. I've heard your please, I've heard
your calls. This is not the first time we've heard it,
but it's a first time we're talking about it for
a full show. Jet fans want the return of fully
Fatu Kasi. This is a man that began his career
with the New York Jets as a sixth round draft

(06:57):
choice at a Yukon fully fath Tu Kasi. The Jets
needed defensive tackle. We have beaten a dead horse talking
about it for the last week, week and a half.
This was one of the best defensive tackle drafts in
the last twenty five years. The Jets did not dip
their toes in those waters. Thirty defensive tackles were drafted

(07:18):
across rounds one through round seven. Thirty defensive tackles went
and it was pretty universal that one of the biggest
needs for the Jets heading into this draft was well
defensive tackle, and the Jets left that stone unturned. So
now we're here now with a massive void and no

(07:41):
more draft to assess. The only option for the New
York Jets well is to sign a free agent now fully.
Fatukasi is thirty years of age. This past season was
on the Houston Texans on a one year deal for
five point one million. He remains a free agent at
this point after the draft. Six foot four, three hundred
and eighteen pounds and one of the Jets' biggest issues

(08:07):
last season was that he couldn't defend the run. That
was one of the biggest issues for the New York
Jets last season. They couldn't stop a nosebleed. Here's some
numbers to back that up. Last season, NFL teams ran
against the Jets at the fifth highest rate. There was
five hundred and four rushing attempts. They gave up twenty

(08:28):
two rushing touchdowns. That was time for the third most
in football. And there's many more stats that sort of
paint the same exact thing that the Jets were an
absolute sieve in the run game, an absolute sieve, and
so they need some help. Now. The schematic change could
certainly have an impact, there's no doubt about it. There's

(08:52):
no doubt about it. That also could have an impact
as things are progressing here, but is that going to
be it? Maybe maybe the discomatic change and whatever coaching
changes from Salad to Aaron Glenn will automatically fix this issue.
But there's a chance that it won't. There's a chance
at it won't. So why not bring back a man

(09:18):
who dominated when he was here? Fully Fought Tukosi spent
his entire rookie contract here as a former sixth round pick.
He appeared in forty five games maybe twenty three starts.
During that time, he racked up three sacks, fourteen quarterback hits,
eighteen tackles for loss, and told lit one hundred and
fifteen tackles. When fully fat Tukasi was here, he was
one of the best run defenders in the NFL. And no,

(09:41):
that is not hyperbole, That is not Here are the numbers.
Pro Football Focus issued in eighty seven point six run
defense grade to fat Tukosi in twenty nineteen, which ranked
fifth best among defensive tackles. Then in twenty twenty, you're
in an eighty six point two run defense grade that
was second best of all defensive tackles in the National

(10:01):
Football League. He's good at stopping the run. That's an
issue for the Jets. Why not make this happen now?
Stens Fully fought Tukasi left in the New York Jets.
His stats and analytics really haven't been that good at all.
To be blind, you know, he hasn't had much success.

(10:24):
But perhaps perhaps a return home could spark what we
saw here with the New York Jets. And I will
also say this, what is more plausible? Consider what is
more plausible? Fully fought Tukasi immediately fell off a cliff
and he just sucks at football, or you know, he
got away from the Jets scheme and all of a

(10:44):
sudden he wasn't as good in other places. So perhaps
coming back to the Jets will bring him back to
that homeostasis where he dominated. Okay, I don't need and
again you could see it with the production right, three
sacks and four years with the Jets. Okay, fully about
to more times than not. Is not going to be
scaring the quarterback and getting sacks. That's probably that's not

(11:06):
his game. But that's okay. This is why we talked
about yesterday on the show. Leonard Taylor the third LT
three LT three Okay, and a lot of the criticisms
I saw in the chat were well Leonard Taylor, the
Third's more pass rusher. I'm not sure I trust him
in the run game, is what it's on the comments
section the way, why not do a discount double dip.

(11:30):
You get LT three for pass rushing situations if you
don't believe he could be that run stuff or maybe
he evolves in that area, and then you bring in
fully Fatukosi for the early downs, fully flat Toukasi, Leonard
Taylor the third have a healthy rotation, one guy dedicated
to run defense, one guy dedicated to pastor could totally
make sense. Why not if you have questions about LT three,

(11:53):
maybe that's the answer to the question. Perhaps now, Fully
flaut tou Kosi is coming off the worst over his career.
According to the numbers. He set new career loads and
overall grade at PFF thirty three point seven, pass rush
grade fifty seven point five, and run defense grade thirty
two point four, which which would partly explain why he

(12:13):
still a free agent. Here's the other reason. Well, he
had shoulder surgery. You got injured last year. He had
shoulder surgery, so that might slow up the market a
little bit. He started thirteen games for the Texans and
had to correct a shoulder issue, but he is expected
to be ready for the twenty twenty five season. So,
like I said, the Jets can bring some back home.

(12:35):
Shout out to Aaron Wilson, NFL Insider and Yahoo Sports
for that report on the shoulder injury. He's gonna be
ready for the twenty twenty five season. He's probably gonna
be had on the dirt cheap. Now, if you look
at spot track, they project his market value. Okay, his
market value is they expect him to sign a one

(12:55):
year deal for three point nine million. That annual salary
would place Fatukasi number fifty three among the highest paid
defensive tackles in football, so not much money at all.
So maybe the Jets could just sign him for that,
or perhaps they could sign him for even cheaper. Right,
A lot of these Byron Cowards, Derek Noddi's and jqu
falays were one year veteran minimum with very minimal money guaranteed.

(13:15):
Maybe they could sort of get fully to do the
same thing coming off an injury. Possible. Maybe, but even
if it's a three point nine million, I'm not worried
about that, so I'd be four it. And so Allen says,
too old thirty. I don't think that's too old and injured. Okay,
he's coming off a shoulder injury, which again might explain
the lack of great play that we saw this past

(13:37):
season as well. He was hurt. So to me, I
think this would be a great move for the New
York Jets. You bring somebody back home where he had
his best football with the New York Jets, and do
you give him an opportunity? Allen says, no chance. I'm
giving him four million, and who knows how much is
guaranteed and how much is incentive? Leyden that was not

(13:59):
described in spot track, jered by saying FA to costly,
FA too costly? Ah, funny, but no, to me, so
I'd bring him in. I'd give him a roundhouse kick
on the tires. Options are limited, of course for free
agents because.

Speaker 7 (14:15):
We're in May.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
But he would be a guy. That would be you know,
so Jet fans love to bring back former players. That's
a very popular thing to do, like, oh, bring back
this guy, bring back this guy. But this is one
that actually makes sense. This is one that actually makes
sense to me. If the money's right, why the hell not?
Fully Batu Cossi team leader run defense. Still young enough

(14:43):
thirty he's up thirty seven, right, you know, so I'd
be intrigued by a Fatu Kasi reunion. And like I said,
the Jets options are sort of limited here to fill
any defensive tackle holes that may exist here as well.
Let's answer some comments here, NC Green. Let's saw this
one up on YouTube. We got snaked by Buffalo for

(15:06):
Dion Walker in round four. That would have been a
nice pick. That would have been a nice pick. That's
someone me and my dad both targeted in mock drafts
before the Kentucky product had previously been considered a first
round draft choice. There's been no confirmation that the Jets
of Buffalo sniped the Jets twice. And when I say
sniped the Jets, they moved in front of the Jets twice,

(15:31):
supposedly for the players they were going for. That has
not been confirmed anywhere yet. But I'll tell you this
on Dian Walker, he had a very serious back issue
that is pars defect, which is a spinal cord issue.
So I don't know how the Jets saw that. So
take that for what you will. Because after the draft,

(15:52):
when Darren Muji was attempt to explain why they didn't
take an efensive tackle. He said, sure, there was a
lot of them, but with this and this character concerns
and injuries, that'll limited a lot of defensive tackles off
the board for so he could have been a medical
red flag. I don't know that. I'm just I just
know he dealt with a serious injury and the Jets

(16:14):
did not draft him, so that could be something as well.
But no, on on paper, Hell yeah, he fits exactly
what you're talking about, six foot seven, big boy. I mean,
that would have made a lot of sense, would have
made a lot of sense. But it's a good comment.

(16:41):
Jerby says, how was Jefferson off of Buffalo? I'm assuming
you're talking about Quentin Jefferson and Quentin Jefferson I believe
see a free agent still. I remember talking about him somewhere,
but I just can't remember where we were where we
discussed him. So let me do a discount, double check
real quick. If he is still a free agent here. Yeah,
it looks like he is. Looks like he is still

(17:02):
a free agent. Yeah, we talked about this for pop.
He's been bouncing around the league for a lot of
different teams. Over the last How about this over the
last what would that be? So since twenty nineteen he
has played for one, two, three, well, I guess he
went to Seattle twice, so one, two, three, four, five six.

(17:22):
In the last six years he's played for you know,
six seven teams, So he's sort of been bouncing around
as a hired hitman. But again, it's sort of the
same thing I said about Fully. He brings a Liam
Nees in special set of skills. He's more pass rushed
that we've seen with some of those pops. He would
be a fun player. He was in Buffalo last year
and Cleveland last year obviously because initially he went to

(17:44):
Cleveland and he wanted to return to the Jets, but
the Jets texted him back too late. What a story,
What a bleeping story. So that did happen vern Vern,
Remember when Fully did the gun celebration? Was still okay, Hey,
we're in a different world than we were in thirty
seconds ago. Apparently in so Islan Jets fans delusion with

(18:11):
ex players is mind boggling. But this is where I'm
not saying, and I don't know how other Jet fans feel,
so I can't speak for them. But I'm not saying
he's going to the Hall of Fame. I'm not saying
he's going to the Ring of Honor. I'm not saying
we should give him a seventy five million dollar contract
and he he should start over Quentin Williams. I'm not
saying any of that. But as a role player at

(18:31):
thirty years of age, where he played his best football
and you get him on the dirt cheap, I don't
understand how this is mind boggling. I'm sure I go
to that level here. I do not. Yeah, because and
everyone's talking about all these other guys they signed Byron

(18:52):
Coward and Derek Naddy and j tw Faalay. When you
look at their careers, obviously, Derek Knati is the most
name brand of any of them as a multiple times
Super Bowl champion, so he's the most well known. And
again six of his seven years in Kansas City, he

(19:13):
was a forty percent rotational guy, pretty important piece of
the puzzle. Last year, only twenty percent of the snaps. So,
by the way, we have over three hundred people in
the room. Make sure you guys like the video. Hit subscribe, baby.
Let's see Ricky New York says, so the only system
Folly has been productor in is in the one we

(19:34):
no longer run. Yeah, I'm good. Well we don't know
what they're going to run. Ag is not revealed what
schematic or scheme or system we're going to run, so
I wouldn't quite put that there. Shout out from a
pop joining the chat. Hey now here in the comment section,
hop on Pop International waters jumping on here on the program,

(19:55):
very nice. Dave Brigger giving a special shout out to
Kalais came out. I love Khalais, would have loved him
on the jets in any iteration over the last bunch
of years, and it makes sense for old Betsy to
call him back home. He was drafted in by the
Cardinals seventeen years ago. Something sort of poetic going back
there as well. So shout out to Kalais. I love
him a lot and well thought he would have been great.

(20:17):
He has the leadership, he's mammoth of a man who's
like six foot eight. He would have been great. He
would have been great. Vern vern A Beg, I know
you're a karate expert. Do you watch the boxing? First off,
it's taekwondo specifically for me, taekwondo is the art of

(20:39):
the leg I do. I am a taekwondo martial arts practitioner.
And in terms of boxing, I used to watch it
all the time my dad. That's what we used to
watch in the nineties, Roy Jones, you know, go through
all of them, all the guys that we used to
watch back in the day. So I used to really
enjoy it. Now it's very selective. I'm not as plugged

(21:00):
in and boxing. I watch some of the big fights.
I get to see all the shameful ones for boxing fans,
the you know, the Jake Paul's, the Connomer Griggers, the
all that kind of stuff. So no, I wish it
was you know, I wish I watched it more. So, No,

(21:23):
I'm sorry, Burnbird, uh, Hugin's gene. What are Quintinkoppels and
Mohammed Wilkerson doing these days? I was gonna say, I
spend way too much time thinking about it. So I
really don't spend that much time thinking about it. But like,
because I look at Jets draft history a lot. When
I'm doing stories and nuggets and things, you come across

(21:45):
those names. You just go like it just transports you
back in time, like Mohammed Wilkerson, specifically a guy that
grew up five minutes from the Jets facilities. You draft
him late in the first round. He becomes this superstar
and then I remember ahead of the franchise tag deadline
one of those years, I was in North Conway and

(22:06):
the deadline was four o'clock and I'm waiting by my phone,
waiting by my phone where there's no great signals in
the mountains, and I'm like, man, please just pay this man.
This is the perfect story homecoming, you know, homecoming guy,
a homegrown guy, Like, why wouldn't you pay him? They
pay him, and it's this big celebration, awesome, and immediately
he packs it in immediately from where we got reports

(22:27):
about being late to meetings, we go report that he
just got lethargic, and I'm like, damn, as soon as
you got the bag, he just went yeah, f y'all.
That just I'm just stunned. I'm still stunned to this day.
He got another chance with the Green Bay Packers, but
got heard, and then his career ended. And then I've
been seeing him in the headline sometimes for bad reasons.
So I haven't heard bubb gets from Quinton Copples. Though

(22:50):
I've heard some bad stuff about Mohammed Wickerson, but I've
heard like nothing from Quentin Coples, good, bad, or indifferent.
And boy, I remember Rex Ryan talking about what Quinton
Coples was to bring to the table. This monster coming
out of North Carolina could play all over the line,
and I was excited. And he had those branded tattoos
on the top of his arms, which are disgusting. But
I just went like, man, that is a badass, and

(23:12):
that didn't work. So uh oh, yeah, I wonder what
those bastards are doing nowadays. That's a good question. I
would love. I don't think they would want to circle back.
But like Vernon Golston, what the hell is he doing
right now? Maybe some Jet fans don't want to know,
and maybe he doesn't want to share, but like, what
the hell is going on there?

Speaker 7 (23:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:33):
DJ Dirty Coach at Paul, good morning, Sir Nixon for
come on, man, you don't even believe that. You don't
even believe that. I really don't even want to designate
this with the response, DJ Dirty Coach, come on, man,
Nixon for my ass. I hope the Knicks win a game.
I'm just kidding. I don't hope that at all. We'll

(23:54):
see what happens. Yeah, shout out to Quentin Copples h
Taylor Strung says, one DT is not going to stop
the run. It takes eleven everyone run to the ball.
One thousand percent even it doesn't matter who individually just
got one man cannot completely stop the run by himself.

(24:17):
That is one hundred percent true. That is a thousand
percent true. Yes, and that again could be a mentality
thing and this schematic thing with Aaron Glenn which could
change some things. So that's possible. Emanuel Holcomb says, every
year lately seems like we foind a gym or two
that went undrafted. DT was so deep you dfa can

(24:40):
play like a fifth rounder. That's another great point. I
didn't think about it that way, that the draft was
so deep and thirty guys got drafted, and it was
so deep that some of the guys who went undrafted
could have went drafted in a different year. That's a
that's a good way to put it. I didn't, like
I said, I hadn't thought about it like that. Yeah,
I mean, just go through the list of undrafted free
agents that the new York have just uncovered. I mean,

(25:04):
there's something to be said for what happened. Yeah, here's
some of the names. Zach Rosblat recently wrote about an NSPS,
Bryce Huff, Tony Adams, Xavier Gibson, Leonard Taylor of the third.
Who else am I missing here? Obviously? You have Jason Brownlee,
who I think he's on the Chiefs right now, so

(25:24):
you have him. I mean, they did a really good job.
But think about these guys. Bryce Huff became a key
piece and then got big time money. The highest paid
undrafted free former undrafted free agent that got a free
agent contract in history that wasn't a quarterback in Bryce
have He got fifty million from the Eagles. You have
Tony Adams who became a starter. You have Xavier Gibson
who had the overtime winner, you had Elt, You have

(25:45):
LT three, who's hopefully his story is yet to be
fully written here. Jason Brownley had some of those crazy
plays in training camp. Yeah, we've had some goodies. Let's
see if they can continue it. Let's see if they
could continue it for sure. Alan, Yeah, that one's painful.
Quentin Copples over Chandler Jones OMG, and I'm a Syracuse

(26:06):
guy now. Chandler Jones is a little bit of a
basket case of there's stuff beyond football that you have
to sort of make sure all is good to go.
But yeah, Chandler was awesome at Syracuse and then great
in the National Football League. Very productive player, there's no question. Yeah,

(26:36):
Oh there you go. Golst is now the founder and
co owner of a new wellness in Summerset, New Jersey.
I didn't know that. Okay, great, beautiful. Why don't we
do this? We got four hundred people in the room.

boy Green two five, you'd like to call on to
today's program if you're watching on Facebook or Twitter, salute
to you. We appreciate it. But YouTube is placed where
you can interact the most. Here on the show. We're
here a little short of eight o'clock on me the Wars.
May the fourth also be with you, and speaking of

(29:01):
half Happy birthday, help, Happy birthday pal, and we celebrate
you and cheers you here on the program. There's no
doubt about it. All right, let's go to the phone lines.
My father hop on Pop with a hop on Pop
take over a weekend here on the program. What's up? Pop?

Speaker 5 (29:18):
They know? Just move locations. I see they were on
to me. So I had to move? I mean yes,
we had to move locations. Sure, certainly back here at
the plant by the by the golf here.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
So good times, good time, okay, nice, Well, I'm glad
that you were able to carve out some time for
us this morning here locally this afternoon for you.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
Yeah, it's almost four o'clock here. It's very yeah, very interesting.
I went in for a walk this morning on the
street to Dubai.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Nice.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
I was a street walker, not in that sense, although
I did see several hundred of those.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
But I don't want to be interrupting anything here. I
don't want to be interrupting anything here on the show, Pop,
you know what's up?

Speaker 5 (30:11):
Never mind, go ahead, But yes, I thought I was
walking the streets of any city in the United States.
I passed a Duncan, a Starbucks, a KFC, a McDonald's,
a Burger King, a Pizza Hut, a hartyse Caribou coffee,
a Texas Chicken restaurant. I was like, yes, shy of

(30:33):
a few people wearing different type clothing that I'm used to.
It could have been walking down main street in the Sweego.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Well, Dave Briga asked, Pop, bet it's nice and warm there.
What's the weather like in Dubai.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
Yeah, so it is. There's a technical term for it.
Let me see. Yeah, it's hot as balls.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Okay, there you go.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
And so, as a matter of fact, I started walking
this morning before about five thirty to try to avoid
the heat, to get some exercise in. We just were
pulling into the facility today and every so often they

(31:16):
stopped the car and empty all the contents of the cars.
They searched the car, and as luck would have it,
because it's you know, three o'clock in the afternoon, the
peak of the heat one hundred and nine degrees Fahrenheits,
they stopped our car and we had to take all
the suitcases out of the car as we stood there
and watched them.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
Jesus, all right, well, I see another follow up question.
You're Jared b. The real question is what are the
snacks in this new hotel room? What's going on in there?

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Yeah, so it's not a hotel, but it's kind of
like a facility. But I will tell you, on a
daily basis a funny story. On a daily basis, they
leave out a pile of candy bars. Right now, there's
a bounty a kick Cat of Mars, Nature Valley granola bar.
And then this one, which I never saw before, is

(32:09):
a Tobolo rone or something candy bar.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
I've never heard of that before.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
But so I was here, as you know, back in
February and a twist bar, so but I would care. February,
the guy was with every day, scooped up all those
candy bars. They put him in suitcase, but every day
they replaced him with a new rent of the same
same candy bars. Eight candy bars a day. And so

(32:36):
the funny part was when he went to the airport,
he was his suitcase was overweight because he had like
seventy two candy bars in his two k and I A.
I think it's very nice that they put those candy
bars there. I'm here like three or four days. I
might have one, but he literally took everyone every day.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
I respect that. Take advantage of it, you know, except
that you.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Mentioned the heat, I don't know what that. The inside
of the suitcase looked like, Uh, there's probably some crime
scene I see. It probably was like the inside of
the toilet from Dumb and Dumber after the colon blow.
If you're getting a good picture there hopefully.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Yeah, that's quite vivid. So I appreciate that. So thank
you for that.

Speaker 5 (33:23):
And they give you a bunch of water, and they
give you a bunch of uh give like a coke,
cocoa diet coke, maybe like four sodas, a day in
your thing, and a six pack of water. Any rooms
are very accommodating.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
What's that any room service?

Speaker 5 (33:40):
Uh, they do take your laundry, wash it, fold it,
and bring it back.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
But no, there you have to go down down the
hallway to the cafeteria where they have about five or
six different ethnicities of food available every night.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
Bacon. Jerby asked about bacon.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
No, nope, I did have a say it was not
very good bacon because I imagine if it's against your
religion to have it cooking, it is probably not your specialty.
So it wasn't very good.

Speaker 7 (34:10):
But I did have some.

Speaker 8 (34:11):
But here, no, they.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
Don't have any no bacon.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Okay, Well, I appreciate that. Apparently mc green says he
knows what that is. The Toble Roan is a really
good Swiss chocolate. So there you have it. There you go.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
Yeah, yeah, I have eaten that one for it is
very good. It's somehow shaped like a triangle and it's good.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
All right, very nice. Well, I appreciate you checking in, pop.
What else is on your mind?

Speaker 5 (34:34):
No, I wanted to just call a shout out give
you the update on the change the location, check in
with a coffee club and make sure you're gring your
Boy Green gear. Make sure that you're asking Mama ahead
of time that ten days from now when the schedules released,
that you have permission for those that you need it
and you know who you are to get to good

(34:56):
at the game and you save up your money so
you can go to the game. So ten days from
now the schedule be released and by a boom, but
a bang right after that, that's a little rode player
is in there for you. Right after that, we're we
picking the game and setting up the go to for
the game, releasing the menu. It's going to be exciting.
There's going to be special gear and everything else. While

(35:19):
you're waiting for that, well, antenday anticipation is upon you
by your raffle ticket for the commemorative Jets coin established
in nineteen sixty along with an autographed commendative football. So
make sure you get raffle tickets in now and go
hit the Boy Green stores so you can get some

(35:39):
hop on pop baconator or in honor of Boy Green,
more on gear.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
So anything you would like folks to do with the
like button.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
Today, I'm sorry you skipped over blacked out for a second.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
That's okay. I'm just one more question. Is there anything
you would suggest that the four hundred thirty six listeners
to this show should do with the like button?

Speaker 5 (36:04):
Is to take that damn like button just like prom night.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
To pound out. Good Lord, have mercy, well father, thank
you for checking in. We appreciate it and looking forward
to the next time you call in. Slash. The next
Top on Pop episode should be a doozy.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
All right, have a great day of coffee club, all.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Right, appreciate it Pop and yes, another reminder for folks
that are Boy Green Coffee Club members. You guys already
know this, or if you're new to the channel. In
ten days the NFL schedule comes out. We're gonna have
a ton of content people coming here on the program.
In less than a week. A matter of days, Jets'
rookie Mini caamp is underway. It starts on Friday, goes
through the weekend. So we have that days later, we

(36:47):
have the NFL schedule coming out days later after that,
ota start for the New York Jets. So a ton
is about to happen here for the New York Jets.
But specifically on the schedule being released in ten days,
we are going to be doing a boy Green tailgate,
which means we're picking a Jets home game on the schedule.
And again we'll find out the full schedule in ten
days and we'll pluck a game, whatever random game that

(37:09):
is Jets Bills, let's just say for random sake, we'll
pick out their game. We'll have a group ticket discount rates.
So if you guys want to watch the game with me,
we're gonna all sit together. We're gonna tailgate together. Chef
Kevin Gilbert has already agreed to cater this event. His
food is awesome, so he will set us all up,
get us right before the game that'll be happening in

(37:30):
the parking lot. We'll have games, gizmo's, gadgets, all that jazz,
and have a wonderful time. A historic day for the
really first annual, hopefully first of many where we do
this Boy Green tailgate spectacular. So, like I said, we'll
have discounted rates for tickets, We'll have tailgate tickets for food.
If you guys would like to purchase that, I would

(37:51):
highly recommend it. With Chef Kevin Gilbert on the menu.
I've seen the menu. It looks awesome. So guys, just
stay tuned. We can't really do I'm doing a lot
of stuff behind the scenes, but we can't do anything
with the game until we know which game is going
to be, which will be in ten days. And again,
if you are a Boy Green Coffee Club member in
the discord, we will as soon as the schedule comes out.

(38:11):
I'll be picking three or four games for us all
to vote on to find the right game that fits
everyone's schedule appropriately. It'll probably be a September October game,
but we'll see what happens. You never know, so folks
very much looking forward to that. All right, let's go
back to the phone lunch. You got plenty of people
waiting here on the program. We'll start off here. Why
not easy here on the show.

Speaker 8 (38:32):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Easy?

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Call me?

Speaker 6 (38:34):
Just about making my coffee?

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Oh okay, nice?

Speaker 6 (38:38):
Yeah, see, I've got these little uh these a little
reusable cured cups.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
Sure, okay, all right, you know so well, I'll wait,
I'll wait.

Speaker 6 (38:47):
I'll talk to you before I have my coffee.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
You can do it at the same time if you'd like,
I feel free to multitask. I don't mind. Fine, sure,
all right, So what do we got cooking?

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Easy?

Speaker 1 (38:55):
What's on your mind?

Speaker 6 (38:56):
Not yet?

Speaker 9 (38:57):
Oh So then when you were talking earlier about these
d linemen that we've had in the past, Yeah, and
we were, you were talking about it. I think with
your dad just the other day that that guy that's
still available, I wouldn't mind getting him back.

Speaker 6 (39:13):
He wasn't too bad. I mean, he's a journeyman, but
he's a good journeyman.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Who's that fully yeah?

Speaker 10 (39:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, good character that we didn't email him
quick enough and he's like, well, fuck, I'm not going
to be unemployed this year, you know.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
Oh yeah that was Quentin Jefferson. Oh yeah, that's Jefferson. Yeah.
He was waiting. Yeah, he was waiting for the Jets
to get back to him. The Jets were apparently busy.
Cleveland gave him an offer and he's like, Jets, do
you want to match this? They don't respond. He's like, fuck,
I guess I gotta take the Browns deal. He takes
a Browns deal and the Jets re job oh we
would have and then you're like, ah, geez, so they

(39:53):
sort of blew that one. Yeah, but I take him
both back yep, yep, yep, went and Jeffers and fully
go get.

Speaker 9 (40:02):
Them, man, I mean should why not? First off, anybody
that wants to play for the Jets, if you want
to be here, I want you here. That's really number one.

Speaker 7 (40:12):
You want to be here?

Speaker 6 (40:13):
I want you here. I want players that want to
be here.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
That goes.

Speaker 6 (40:16):
I don't care if the coach is Sola or if
it's uh, you know, Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 9 (40:23):
If you want to be a Jet and you've got
some skills that you can bring to the table, welcome aboard.

Speaker 5 (40:29):
That's that's the.

Speaker 6 (40:29):
Way I look at it.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Want to is a great part of the equation. You
want people who want to be here. That's great.

Speaker 9 (40:35):
And plus there's also with both of those guys this familiarity.
That's the you know, you know, but you know, I'm
sure they've had friendships, going out to dinner with their friends,
they know some of the wives and kids.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
It's just a nice thing to come back, you know,
instead of like I.

Speaker 9 (40:51):
Could imagine if both these guys all of a sudden,
like let's just say one guy winds up on Tampa Bay,
you might not know anybody on Tampa Bay or anybody
who's have a play for Tampa Bay.

Speaker 6 (41:01):
I'm just going Tampa Bay.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
I don't as a rate of example, I got you
Yea or.

Speaker 6 (41:08):
Or the Raiders.

Speaker 9 (41:09):
You know, you might not know anybody out in Vegas,
you know, so you know, it's always good to come back.
He knows the stadium, he knows the staff, he knows
the locker room, he knows the climate. I think it's
a lot easier if you have familiarity and you know
the people. He knows the trainers, he knows the people
in the office building. You know all that stuff. And

(41:30):
this way all you have to do they come back,
concentrate on football. Yeah, you don't have to worry about
what was that guy's name was the equipment? You just
play football, you know, and have a good time, and
it's great.

Speaker 6 (41:43):
I love it. I'd love to get those two guys back.
I saw that there was an art I think I
read an article on.

Speaker 9 (41:51):
YouTube about they were talking about the kid the speed
burner who doesn't catch that good or had a bunch of.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
You know, I'm fucked up with names, so just just
bear with me. The fourth round pick.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
This year, yeah, Arian Smith, Yeah, Yeah, yeah, that's it.

Speaker 11 (42:11):
Okay, Yeah, but uh, there have been a lot of
reports that he's actually pretty good, and he's and they
say he's actually faster on the field than you would
even imagine in his forty.

Speaker 9 (42:26):
It's just he's got the quickness and stuff. So I
don't just work him and saw us go and work
on the drugs machine.

Speaker 6 (42:34):
Hell, Britt lose Haard along too. He's just stuck with
him up. You just imagine they got three drugs machines
set up boom boom boom, and and just firing balls
at them.

Speaker 5 (42:43):
Man.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
I hope, so I hope they have cameras on them
and it should just be and then just run him
through over and over and over again and hopefully improved.

Speaker 6 (42:52):
Yeah, I'm not as pessimistic on this team as some
people are. I mean, I come into this like two
years ago.

Speaker 9 (43:00):
We had uh when we got Aaron Rodgers, everybody was
all like, yeah, we're gonna do it.

Speaker 12 (43:05):
It's this, this is our super Bowl running and and
it got so hyped up. And I was and I
I was not in the Aaron Rodgers camp. I I
was we got him, and I was happy that we
got a guy that could play, But I was really
not an Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Guy.

Speaker 9 (43:24):
I know, I know it sounds bad in hindsight to say,
but I wanted the But I wanted the the kid from.

Speaker 8 (43:32):
That that went to New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Derek Carr.

Speaker 6 (43:36):
Yeah, I wanted Derek Carr. I thought he would have
done pretty good here.

Speaker 9 (43:41):
He's he's a he's a he's an above average journeyman quarterback.

Speaker 6 (43:46):
I think he could with the talent we had around him,
I think he could have done well. Obviously, he got
injured down there too, so that hurt a lot of things.

Speaker 7 (43:55):
But I don't know.

Speaker 6 (43:56):
I just I just had a film that it would
have been, first of all, cap friendly, second to off
a lot less drama.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
It's probably true, but they're dealing with drama right now.
But you're probably right.

Speaker 9 (44:07):
Yeah, But I like what Aaron Glenn is going to
bring to this team. He's going to bring that Bill
Parcells no nonsense attitude. There will be accountability, I mean
there will be accountability. He will put people on the
bench that are not performing and everybody else is going
to have to raise their game because he changed Detroit,

(44:32):
I mean he changed the jets of the NFC.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
Yeah, that's a good way to put it. Yeah, the
lines have sucked forever.

Speaker 6 (44:38):
Yeah, and his formula seems to have worked.

Speaker 9 (44:43):
Look last year he did the ultimate job of making
chicken salad out of chicken.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Shit, no doubt. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (44:50):
They ten eleven guys at.

Speaker 13 (44:52):
Eleven appearance at different on IR. Yeah correct, which is
what happened with the Jets. Only when we had our
IR issues, we sucked. He had his IR issues, and
they made it to a chance to a playoff, second
playoff game, right, Yeah, what's the what's the first one?

Speaker 5 (45:10):
Wild card?

Speaker 1 (45:11):
Then wild divisional? Yeah, divisional? Well, because they had to
buy so they didn't play in the first game, so
they just hosted Washington for the chance to go to
the NSC championship game.

Speaker 7 (45:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (45:20):
So I mean, you know, yeah, that guy, that guy
knows how to bring. The only way you do that
is if you can take the talent you have and
make it rise. And now I'm gonna let you guys
go to some people. It's this Sunday. Everyone wants to
talk a little bit. You have a little more time.
You don't got to run to work today, do you Yeah?

Speaker 1 (45:37):
I do not, No, I do not.

Speaker 9 (45:39):
All right, Well, let's uh, let's some other people talk
and love you guys out there support the Jets.

Speaker 7 (45:45):
I was thinking of.

Speaker 9 (45:46):
I think I'm gonna buy a number nineteen jersey and
put the Should I put Gordon on the back or
should I put Flash.

Speaker 7 (45:52):
On the back.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
That's a that's a good question. I thought. This is
sort of the same question with Sas Gardner, Right do
you put sauce? You put Gardner Like that's a good point.
And that's and that's what I thought. You have to
put sauce sauce like sand Gardener, Like, I mean, that's
a fine name, that's his name, I guess, but people,
that's a good point.

Speaker 9 (46:13):
Should I put Gordon on the back or should I
put sauce in the bag? I want to see it
when I when I get off the when I get out.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
I would assume Flash because like, if they see Gordon,
I don't think people are immediately gonna get it because
Gordon's I would assume a pretty common name. Like I
don't think people would think they see Flash that makes
people go flash oh, flash Gordon prompt savor of the universe.

Speaker 6 (46:37):
You know, I almost wanted to say flash.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Oh. That would be hilarious. There should be plenty of
room on there. I would love that.

Speaker 5 (46:46):
Do that.

Speaker 14 (46:48):
Going to do that?

Speaker 1 (46:49):
Okay? Please do? I love it easy here on the show.
Enjoy your coffee. That's awesome, Flash the Savior of the Universe,
New York Jets quartero back Flash Gordon. Yeah, there you go.
Let's get a YouTube super chat and here every time.
I got a YouTube super chat. Here for my daughter's

(48:01):

rigging birthday. HEP.

Speaker 4 (48:05):
Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. You know what I
noticed as you get older, the birthdays are really for
other people, the loved ones around you, you know. Like
for example, they wanted to take me to dinner today
and they said, where do you want to go? You
want to go to the Japanese restaurant?

Speaker 7 (48:21):
You want to go here?

Speaker 6 (48:22):
I said, no, I want to go.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
To Dave and Busters nice because my grands and then
we can go play there.

Speaker 7 (48:30):
It'll be a gas you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Look at you. You're a man of the people, right
They say, well, what is HEP wanting? You're like, you
know what, I think, all the kiddos and everything. We
get a better run from Damn Busters. We can all
play games together, food and enjoy and hang out. HEP.
You're always a man of the people, man.

Speaker 4 (48:47):
Yeah, yeah, I think so. I'm looking forward to the
to the tailgate as well.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
That's gonna be so cool. I can't, I literally can't.
I keep trying to do every day doing a little
bit more forward again, behind the scenes stuff, and I'm
just like, man, this is gonna be so awesome. So
I can't wait. It's going to be pretty cool. Great.

Speaker 6 (49:04):
Oh yeah, hop off, get this well.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
Before you do, have what what else is on the
docket today? What is on the birthday hep docket? I
think all of us want to know.

Speaker 4 (49:12):
Well, it's you know, when you get older, you don't
you don't do the party. And as I said, my
highlight will probably be the day and busters nice, just
a little quiet. We have a thing we have in
my house called a lifeboat day.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Okay day.

Speaker 4 (49:25):
That's a day when you try to stay in bed
as long as you can and you only get out
to go to the bathroom and to eat food, then
you jump back into bed.

Speaker 1 (49:33):
I love the life boat Yeah.

Speaker 7 (49:34):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
That's hilarious. Well, help enjoyed the heck out of the
day man, and we love your power. We can't wait
that tail gaid. It's going to be pretty special.

Speaker 6 (49:42):
I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
There is HEP. And thank you for Lily and all
the other birthday messages that are coming in for Hep.
I see my mama's in here with a happy birthday.
Help Dave Briga with that birthday boy. All the birthday
messages raining in and for good reason. A salute and
pour one out for he baby, and yeah again, salute
to easy. Get that flash, Gordon Jersey. That'd be friggin sweet.

(50:09):
Look at that creativity. You come to the tailgate with
a flash, Gordon Jersey. It's gonna go pretty gash darn well,
I imagine for you easy, So good luck, enjoy all right,
let's go back to the phone lines. We've got Neil
Senior with a surprising outside shot. Nice. Okay, we've moved locale.

(50:30):
What's up here?

Speaker 7 (50:30):
Yeah? No, this is my outside time. Nice, this is
golf time.

Speaker 14 (50:35):
I got my President's Cup qualifier eleven fifteen t off.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
So okay, good luck.

Speaker 7 (50:41):
Used on golf right now. Yeah, trying to get my
golf game sub eighty okay.

Speaker 1 (50:49):
So what's your handicap?

Speaker 7 (50:51):
I'm a fifteen to two okay, you know, trying to
get it down to a ten man.

Speaker 5 (50:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (50:56):
I haven't played enough golf in the last four years
to really get it down, but recently joined the club
out here out easton a lot better starting to get
my game down. YouTube is amazing.

Speaker 7 (51:12):
You know.

Speaker 14 (51:12):
You go to these YouTube channels and you see all
these like easy Swing Golf, my big weakness is my
putting game.

Speaker 7 (51:19):
You know, my putting I yip on a lot of
three footers and it's a real frustrating thing. I get over.

Speaker 14 (51:24):
I mark down on my scorecard every time I miss
a three footer and it's usually about.

Speaker 7 (51:31):
Four to five misses a bround, which is really bad.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
You know.

Speaker 7 (51:36):
If I could correct that, you know that that would
get my game down significantly.

Speaker 14 (51:41):
And that's not really a hard thing to do. Most
of those short putts are in your head.

Speaker 1 (51:46):
But read and how often do you golf, Neil.

Speaker 7 (51:51):
I'm doing like right now, three to four days a week.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Okay, you know, you don't know what average for people.

Speaker 14 (51:59):
But that's you know, if you could play the game
three to four days a week, you could get your
scores down.

Speaker 7 (52:06):
That's three days a week. It's really hard, you know,
it's it's a really really hard.

Speaker 14 (52:12):
Game to get into that you know, ten or below handicap,
especially a fe're in your sixties, you know, because you
lose the distance.

Speaker 1 (52:22):
My father's suggestion is to channel you're any inner happy gilmore,
perhaps bring a hockey stick. Maybe that'll increase you know,
your distance, if that's what you're going for. So there's
a suggestion. Other suggestions from the chat.

Speaker 7 (52:35):
There you go, you use a hockey puck. Happy birthday
to Halp.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 7 (52:40):
Today, we don't want to talk about age.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
I didn't bring that up. You notice that I did
not know.

Speaker 14 (52:44):
Once you get above a certain age, you know, birthdays
are you know, something you don't look as forward to
as you used to. It's just a reminder on how
fast time goes. When you get up in the inn,
that upper stratosphere, it just becomes like a blur. As
Jack Nicholson once said, it's like air through a keyhole.
You know, it's like smoke through a keyhole, the way

(53:06):
the years go by. But uh yeah, you know, as
far as the Jets are concerned, just to you know,
you know, Fatakasi, I heard see some comments on the chat.
You know, look, anybody we could add in here. There's
some free agent bargains that are out there now. I
mean keen I've been pushing Keenan Allen for months. Sure, yeah,

(53:27):
I think he's a great He would be a great
number two receiver. He adds a lot of he's really
really good in the red zone, scores a lot of touchdown.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Good locker room guy, yeah, you know, you need a
little veteran.

Speaker 14 (53:39):
You know, we have really no veterans on the team,
and you really think about it. In the wide receiver room,
we don't have a single guy. I mean, everybody's on
a rookie contract or young right.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
Yeah, outside of Lazard and Reynolds, I guess those are
the quote unquote old men in the room. But I
don't even know if those count to the level of
your time.

Speaker 14 (53:58):
Yeah, I don't see much leadership up there, you know
from Lazard. You know, he's busy looking at going to
New York City and.

Speaker 7 (54:04):
Hanging out and play shit.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
Okay, you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (54:07):
Yeah, Reynolds, how old is Reynolds? Is he even thirty?

Speaker 8 (54:11):
Maybe?

Speaker 14 (54:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (54:12):
We only have three or four guys on the team
that are thirty year older, and most of them are
special teamers like Thomas Morstead and Zerlin. Hey, he's thirty
right on the button? Is Josh Renolds thirty?

Speaker 5 (54:22):
Right now?

Speaker 7 (54:22):
So you really got it. You have to add a
couple of wiley veterans.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
And I'm fine with that, you know what I mean.

Speaker 14 (54:28):
Fatakasi, he was a good player for us. You know, Look,
the guy performed. He's still playing at a high level.
I don't think you're gonna have to burn a major
amount of money.

Speaker 7 (54:38):
I want to see it. I want to see you know, uh,
I want to see us.

Speaker 14 (54:42):
Spend a little money here, you know, I mean, we
don't pay for these guys, and the check book is
really low right now. We didn't sign any major free agents,
you know, big contracts, so you know, bargain basement hunting here.
There's going to be a lot of good guys released
and you're going to be able to pick.

Speaker 7 (55:00):
But you know, we don't.

Speaker 14 (55:01):
We have pretty good I mean, look, if we get
a run stopper, we get a big fatty in there
on the defensive line, and we had a guy like
Keenan Allen or who's the other receiver. Yeah, either of
those two guys, I'd be real, real happy with. I
think certainly would give a little bit of a you know,

(55:22):
add some some breath to the offense.

Speaker 1 (55:25):
They definitely gives some credibility to the wide receiver room.
Not named Garrett Wilson, you know exactly.

Speaker 14 (55:30):
Let's get a guy like that in there, Let's get
a Fota Casi, maybe one other guy, and let's roll.
I think the team we have now we could roll with.
I think our defense is going to be significantly better.
We're gonna have a lot of blitzing, we're gonna do.
You know, it's gonna be a lot of hit or
miss on the defense. But you know, that's the one
thing we lacked in the last three years. It's been

(55:51):
extremely frustrating about Sala's defense is the fact they don't blitz.

Speaker 7 (55:56):
They don't you know, they don't press cover. They do
a lot of zone.

Speaker 14 (56:00):
They give up a lot of easy third and fourth
for first downs, where other teams have you know, had
won the ball control game against US so and we
haven't had any turnovers. I mean, to win games, you
have to turn the ball over. I mean, let's face it,
you're not gonna you know, rely on your offense all
the time to win games. And I think we're going

(56:22):
to see a lot of that this year, which I'm
more excited about the defense and what we could do there. Uh,
the offensive line looks really really good and you know,
fields is going to be We're going to see what
we have. You know, I was a little frustrated that
we didn't pick up a Will Howard or the kid
from Syracuse.

Speaker 1 (56:42):
Yeah, comic cord.

Speaker 7 (56:44):
You should have taken a shot there.

Speaker 14 (56:45):
I mean, you only have to pay the guy's four
million dollars at that point, at that late round, right,
four or five million dollars, and get it. You got
to take your stabs when you have a chance, because
one of those guys could end up being you know,
they certainly look really good and and and we don't
know what these guys are going to be like at
the frost of right, we didn't know brock Party was

(57:06):
going to be a great quarterback and definitely not look
where he was picked. So that's the that's the if
I want to say one thing about the draft, you know,
I give the first day, second day, you know, an
A B plus, and but the third, the last two
days definitely you could say a C or a D
or even an F. You know, as far as the

(57:28):
last part of the draft. Now, the only thing I
saw with this receiver. Everybody's talking about the kid we got.

Speaker 7 (57:34):
Yeah, you know, whenever they pick.

Speaker 14 (57:35):
A guy, they show some tape of him his best
plays in the year. Yeah, the one thing I noticed
is he didn't really have any separation on any of
those big plays that looked like the corners were on.

Speaker 7 (57:47):
I'm pretty tight, you know, and they're talking.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
About surprising because he is the fourth fastest forty yard dash.

Speaker 8 (57:52):
Of the camera.

Speaker 14 (57:53):
Look, you want to tell me, you know you if
you show me Tapa Tarik kill one on one against
any corner, the other guy goes out of the screen
about halfway very quickly, you know what I'm saying. So
let's see how fast fast is you know, tree kill
is fast? Okay, that's what if you're going to use
that as a judge. As a judge, done, there's that

(58:16):
this guy is nowhere near that, you know, But again
time will tell. Yes, hopefully we used Coraley this year
and you know, and hopefully Fields you know, continues to
have winning games as opposed to losing games. You know,
his record in the last what is his last twelve games,

(58:37):
he's eight.

Speaker 7 (58:37):
And four or something.

Speaker 1 (58:38):
That's right, Yeah, he has a good record. And then
if you sort of stack the statistics in that way
of the last sixteen seventeen games as numbers look really
good too. So yeah, yeah, we'll see if he can
continue to progress.

Speaker 14 (58:49):
And as far as the game goes, you know your tailgate, yeah,
you know, Chef Kevin, you know, I whenever he gets
on my mouth kind of waters. I feel like a
Pavlovian dog. You know, when he starts book about his menu.

Speaker 1 (59:01):
If you see the menu again, I've seen it.

Speaker 7 (59:03):
If you find you ever sample any of his wares,
I have not.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
I've only seen pictures and heard stories. And then, like
I said, he finalized the menu for our tailgate that's
going to be coming up, and he showed it and
I just went, oh my god, I can't wait. I
want the food right now.

Speaker 14 (59:20):
It's making you know, that's you know, look that that's
you know, look, it certainly will be a highlight. Yeah,
food and drink and you know I, you know, I
the tailgates that I've been to over the years of
ben Epic, and it's the best.

Speaker 7 (59:35):
Part of the game for the most part. Unfortunately, it's
been the best part of anything we do.

Speaker 14 (59:40):
My brother, who's been an aviad jet fan with me,
he does a tailgate with me more times than not.

Speaker 7 (59:46):
He doesn't even attend the game.

Speaker 14 (59:48):
He gets the tailgate, cleans up and watches a little
in the parking lot, and goes home.

Speaker 7 (59:52):
He getting up and he's getting up in age.

Speaker 14 (59:54):
It could be sixty nine and so He's like, Neil,
you know, I got to tell you, man, it's really
a tug on the chest.

Speaker 7 (01:00:01):
You know, it's a little test for the heart.

Speaker 14 (01:00:03):
You know.

Speaker 7 (01:00:04):
My dad was like that too. You know.

Speaker 14 (01:00:05):
He used to get up in the third quarter if
it was a tight game. He said, all right, guys,
see you later, and I'd be like, where you going?

Speaker 7 (01:00:12):
What are you doing? You know, hey, look, you know
it gets it really tends to play on you.

Speaker 14 (01:00:21):
That one thing I want to ask the chat. Yeah,
I heard a thing come up. We were talking about
clutch players in New York.

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
Oh, yeah, I've heard of this, yes.

Speaker 14 (01:00:31):
Right, Yeah, And you know, obviously everybody's real excited about
this Brunson.

Speaker 7 (01:00:36):
I'm a nick fan.

Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
Yeah, getting a lot of streets.

Speaker 7 (01:00:40):
Yeah, it's really a nice story.

Speaker 14 (01:00:43):
The kid is just an amazing kid, and he really
looks he's Jeff definitely a type of there's certain guys
that just in the clutch. I mean when he silenced
those Detroit fans and put that free up, Oh that
was amazing.

Speaker 7 (01:00:57):
And you know there's not many guys like that.

Speaker 14 (01:00:59):
You know, that's a that's a rarity that you get
a guy like that on your teams that could really
feast under things.

Speaker 7 (01:01:07):
So we were everybody was talking about who they think.

Speaker 14 (01:01:10):
Is the clutches guy ever in the New York uniform.
Who's your clutch guy.

Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
Clutch guy all time any sport in New York? Oh wow, okay,
now you got lun quist.

Speaker 7 (01:01:21):
That's sure that everybody could say.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Right, obviously, Joe Willie Name is how more?

Speaker 14 (01:01:28):
I don't know if you could put him in there.
I mean, he obviously is, you know, mister clutch. Yeah, well,
let's take him out of the equation that you know
we're looking at. That's fifty five years ago.

Speaker 7 (01:01:37):
Let's look in the last twenty twenty five years, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 14 (01:01:42):
I don't want to, you know, because most of the
people here never saw with Joe name throw a ball.

Speaker 7 (01:01:46):
So that's that's an unfair comparison. You know, I hate
the Yankees, but I guess, look, I'm a met fan.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
I'm you know, I guess you could go down. I
guess if you want to pull a Yankee out of
the hat, I guess you can put him on the list.
Let me see who else would I'm trying to.

Speaker 7 (01:02:07):
Give it a lot of the clutch guys are Yankee guys.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
You know, I'm not which sucks.

Speaker 14 (01:02:12):
It sucks, but you know you gotta you know, look,
I give credit where credits due. I mean, Andy Pettitt
was a clutch guy.

Speaker 7 (01:02:20):
You know, whenever they needed a big win, they put
him on the mound.

Speaker 14 (01:02:23):
But I would have to say, and I hate saying it, okay,
but the clutches guy in New York, without a.

Speaker 7 (01:02:30):
Doubt, you have to say Mariano Rivera.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Oh yes, of course, I sort of overlook.

Speaker 7 (01:02:36):
Think about It's not a name that comes up often,
definitely not.

Speaker 14 (01:02:40):
But without think about this, and any Yankee fan would
never argue this. Without Marianna Rivera, you're not looking at
all those rings.

Speaker 7 (01:02:49):
There's the's no way, you know, I mean he is.
He was just lights out when he went on the mound.
It was the ninth inning or whatever, it was, the
tight game. He just shut it down without even a
you know what I mean, didn't even pound his chest.
He just came out there and just destroyed people. So
that's a good one that I would put a poll

(01:03:11):
up there.

Speaker 14 (01:03:11):
Maybe, Yeah, four or five guys that I'm interested to
see what the chat would say, who's the clutchest athlete?

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
And yeah, jee wise putting Mark Messier up there, he's a.

Speaker 7 (01:03:24):
Was definitely one. Yeah, but you know what it is.

Speaker 14 (01:03:26):
Messier did it one year, you know, with the with
the with the cup year, and he did have some
clutch moments.

Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
You know, you have to look at you know, when
you look at it over a time frame, right, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Because you can pluck Yankees from yesteryear of Lou Garrick
and all those kinds.

Speaker 14 (01:03:43):
But again, people that we've all seen, yes, you know,
we've all seen married. I mean I say, oh, I
mean there's people in this chat that are twenty years old.
But you know, guys that have seen most of these people.

Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
Hey, poor, what out? What about your boy? Will? Let's
read eh willis read?

Speaker 7 (01:04:00):
Was clutch, no doubt. Yeah, but again we're going back.

Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Yeah, yeah, I guess right. You know I was going
to the seventy you know, eighty in and being okay,
here's okay, Eli manning the two Super Bowls the New
England Patriots. Come on, how is he not Captain Clutch?
He prevented and God bless his soul. I wish it
would have been for a jet thing, but he prevented
Tom Brady from winning two superbuls. That bastard to have

(01:04:25):
nine super Bowl rings right now, if that Eli Manning
brother wasn't born, so blessed be he. I've got it
right here. Maybe the David Tyree book over here. I'm
the biggest Jet fan of the world and also the
biggest Patriot hater, so every time the Patriots go down,
I get great pleasure out of that. So Eli Manning
obviously would have to be on that list.

Speaker 14 (01:04:42):
So I would say, you know, Manning was definitely okay,
clutch when it counted, you know, no good ways about it.

Speaker 7 (01:04:51):
The Tyree catch kind of helped them a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
I mean, there's no question about it.

Speaker 14 (01:04:56):
Kind of whipped a fling in a prayer. But he
did get away from a pressure on that play. I mean,
when you look at that play, he was dead to
rights he had for and he just walked away from that.

Speaker 7 (01:05:10):
Yeah, he was just.

Speaker 14 (01:05:13):
With the hat trick though, you have to give it
that was that was you know, messy a you know,
really as an individual changed the Giants. You know, he's
definitely responsible for you.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
Know, DJ Dirty hugelynsanity, Oh Jeremy Land. That lasted for
a very brief period of time, but hey, Hemp on
the Lawrence Taylor. Again, we're going a little bit back,
but at least we're more recent than our Willis Reed
Nameth Comps. I guess so there you go.

Speaker 7 (01:05:47):
That, there you go, guys.

Speaker 14 (01:05:48):
So we have something that to chat about here outside
the jets. I'm really looking. I would love to see
a poll out there with you know, five names on it.
You certainly put Let's see what names would be on
that pole. You got Messy a Eli Manning, Jeter?

Speaker 1 (01:06:05):
Yeah, what about your boy? What about Captain? America? Said
David Right? Would you put your met boy on there?
Don't you?

Speaker 7 (01:06:12):
David Right?

Speaker 14 (01:06:12):
David Right had a lot of clutch hits. I like
David Right, but yeah, I would. I would say, you know, uh,
if it was a met you know, I would have
to Yeah, I would have to say. She's I'm losing
my I'm like, I'm like easy, you know, I'm losing names.

(01:06:33):
Our catcher?

Speaker 7 (01:06:35):
Yeah, okay, you know who I'm talking about?

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Maybe?

Speaker 7 (01:06:41):
Who is it?

Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
Who's your catcher?

Speaker 7 (01:06:44):
The Italian? I'm losing my mind here?

Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
Hello talking about that Piazza? Yes, sure, yeah, put game
when he hit that emotion as all.

Speaker 7 (01:06:56):
Hell, Pta was really a clutch player.

Speaker 14 (01:06:59):
Also Gary Carter, you know, but again that's back back back,
Keith Hernandez.

Speaker 7 (01:07:07):
You know, Uh, you could say.

Speaker 14 (01:07:11):
On the Mets, I'd have to say our second baseman,
Jesus Christ. What am I thinking about now that had
the amazing playoff run? Why am I losing my mind
thinking about golf? You know who I'm talking about?

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Okay, yeah, there you go. There's a there's a ya.
I see jsfl going Bill Buckner, he's throwing that.

Speaker 7 (01:07:33):
Yeah, Bill Butner, you go. I was Bill Buckner. I
was at that game. I was at all the World
Series games.

Speaker 14 (01:07:39):
My father a wide season tickets right behind first base,
and I want to tell you when that ball went
through Buckner's legs, the stadium shook. I've never seen a
stadium shape. I thought the place was going to come down. Yeah,
and uh, there was a Boston fan there. We were
all season ticket holders at that game, and and he no,

(01:08:01):
he was up and down. He was busting all our shops.
This young kid was drunk off his ass from Bosting.
So he says to everybody he's walking.

Speaker 7 (01:08:08):
Up and say, this is the best day of my life.
He goes, does anybody I snuck into the stadium. Does
anybody give me a ticket? Stub?

Speaker 14 (01:08:16):
You know, I'm so excited this. I shut the hell up.
We're all telling this guy, shut up, shut up. We
all go to the bathroom. Shiraldi's coming in. We're all
cursing about Davy Johnson.

Speaker 7 (01:08:26):
What a mess. I can't believe this is happening.

Speaker 14 (01:08:28):
We come back, I sit in my seat, I look
up and it's said to congratulations Red.

Speaker 7 (01:08:34):
Sox on the screen.

Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
Premature.

Speaker 14 (01:08:40):
Think about that, and then all of a sudden, all
that happened and we were just hugging each other.

Speaker 7 (01:08:46):
I can't wait for that happen for our jets. It's
gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
It's gonna happen, and I'm.

Speaker 14 (01:08:53):
Gonna be down Broadway. I'm gonna be leading the charge,
me and Joey b Ira. Tell the guys that have
suffered the most. Yeah, we're going to have our sprinter
hanging out, our sprinter with the champagne bottles.

Speaker 7 (01:09:07):
You'll be there, Paul.

Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
I can't wait. I have my tickets book to deal.
So it's going to be a wonderful thing. And good
luck with your golf too, pal, good luck with your
golf too. All Right, let's go to the phone lines,
Indie Jets here on the show. What's up Indy?

Speaker 8 (01:09:25):
How do I follow Neil all the time? Especially real quick?

Speaker 15 (01:09:32):
You know we brought wait to you and I talked
about this yesterday, the big fatty that everybody keeps talking about,
right yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:09:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:09:39):
If you go look at Detroit's defensive line right now,
and who they you'd last year? They have one guy
that's over three hundred and twenty pounds. Oh, he's a
journeyman defensive lineman. I mean their best defensive lineman, Aiden
Hutchison is two sixty five.

Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
Yeah, the only big boy season. I'm on the rush
right now. So they got DJ Reider. He's three thirty five.

Speaker 15 (01:10:07):
He's the yeah, DJ reader, and he's kind of he's
kind of a floater. He's been on this his third team.
It was his first year there, only played you know,
only started I think ten games, played fifteen, So he's
kind of a floater.

Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
And they just drafted this guy. Obviously, Tyler Williams, the
one ever won the Jets wanted. So he's a rookie.
But he's three hundred twenty seven pounds on here.

Speaker 8 (01:10:26):
Let me see, I'm just going by what what Aaron
Glenn used last year?

Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
Right, yeah, right, these are good. Some of these guys
are new, right, like Ray Lowez he's new. I mentioned
Tyler he's new. So there's a couple of new guys.
But yeah, right to your point, though, there's not that
space heating three hundred and forty, three hundred and fifty
pounder on the roster, not on this year or I
imagined last year either.

Speaker 15 (01:10:48):
So right, and if you look, there's a lot of
his starters that are that are under three hundred pounds.
I mean, you know, two eighty five to ninety five.
Hutchison's too s six you know, and averages you know,
and now he was hurt last year, but his first
two years he was averaging you know, thirty plus tackles
the year. That's pretty good for a two undred and

(01:11:10):
sixty five defensive tackle.

Speaker 1 (01:11:12):
Mark is Davinport two hundred eighty five pounds, but high Wingo,
the former LSU kid, he's only to eighty eight. So yeah, yeah,
eight huts eight.

Speaker 15 (01:11:20):
So right, and so we keep saying, well, hey we
need this big guy up front. Well yeah, we did
under Solas wide nine, you know, but I don't. I
just don't see that that a big fat he's going
to be a big guy in the middle works under age.

Speaker 8 (01:11:36):
I just don't see it.

Speaker 15 (01:11:38):
And you know, and so I think that you know,
the guys that he's drafted or that you know, not
necessarily drafted, but brought in under the UDFA, they're they're
fitting the scheme that he wants.

Speaker 8 (01:11:50):
And you know, I I I.

Speaker 15 (01:11:56):
Think he's building that that same kind of mentality that
he did in Detroit to say, Hey, it's a team effort.
We're gonna we're gonna be a quick, fast defense. Uh
a fat they you know, the the reaction of these guys,
it was a it was a if you watch the
defense in Detroit a little bit, Yeah, watched the gang tackling.

(01:12:16):
You know, they didn't they didn't they didn't work on
you know, it just wasn't one guy that there was
a swarming defense. It reminds you it has a whole
lot of uh similarities to that uh rex Ryan defense.

Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
It looks like they do. Now here, let's hit us
with this trivia music. All right, who is the fattest
Jets defensive lineman they currently have on the roster?

Speaker 4 (01:12:40):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Who's the biggest fatty on the Jets defensive line, according
to their basing the weight off their official roster sheet.

Speaker 8 (01:12:48):
Uh nady, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
It sure is Bengo Bongo. It is Derek Nadi baby.

Speaker 8 (01:12:55):
So yeah, and he's what three eighteen.

Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
Yeah, let's see three seven team. That's the and that's
the Yeah, you're right on it. That's the heaviest defensive
line and they have on the roster.

Speaker 7 (01:13:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:13:07):
And and so you know, uh, and I think that
he's gonna it's just gonna be a fast moving defensive line.
You know, I'm I'm kind of I'm I'm more excited
than than guys like Alan who say we're gonna win
six games.

Speaker 8 (01:13:24):
You know, we know he's a Patriots fan.

Speaker 15 (01:13:26):
Uh he he is just he is just you know,
knob slobbing all over the Patriots saying they're gonna win
eleven games this year. You know, come on, you just
have to take it with a grain of salt. But yeah,
that's that's.

Speaker 14 (01:13:42):
Uh.

Speaker 15 (01:13:42):
If if we're going, as Pop says, if we're going
to use the word moron, that's where it needs to go.

Speaker 8 (01:13:50):
Alan, eleven games come on.

Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Like the worst roster in football, like last year and
now they jump into eleven games, but some Rabel wizard magic.

Speaker 15 (01:14:01):
Come on, man, right, the Jets will win more games
than the Patriots this year.

Speaker 7 (01:14:07):
I like it.

Speaker 15 (01:14:08):
Yes, now we have it on tape so that way, Alan,
can you know whenever it's you know, sabbatical of being
on video. You know, Alan, the Jets will win more
games than the Patriots this year.

Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
You hear that, Alan? Okay, there you go. Let's go
love it and d fuck the Patriots. Let's go. That's
how we can all rally around it. That's it right there,
just f the Patriots. Yeah, beautiful. Indeed, thanks those always
