Speaker 1 (00:04):
New rumors say Detroit Lions wide receivers Jamison Williams could
be on the move. The New York Jets should make
the call, and I got a trade for both for him.
Let's go. Boy Green Daily starts right. I'm gonna lose
my gash guarded bananas. Boy Green Daily start snare suets.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Boy Buggy D Buggy D Buggy Da.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Put your seatbelts on, getting ready for the ride.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
We're the freaking New York Jets. We're built for the ship.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Hey, what's going on? Everybody? I'm Paulston Junior aka Boy Green.
I'm the New York Jets digital reporter for a Welcome
to Boy Green Daily Daily New York Jets video show
also available wherever you get your podcast. Make sure you
like the video. Hit subscribe as you're heading in, Baby,
that's a freeway to contribute to the show. We have
a full article on the YouTube description down below on
this very topic matter of Jamison Williams potentially being available
(01:19):
and that revs my engine. Baby. Here it is. Here
was the note from NFL insider Albert Bruer, who said
on Monday yesterday that some people in NFL circles believe
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jamison Williams could be traded. He
could be on the move, is what old Albert Brier said.
(01:41):
And if that's true, I'm the New York Jets. I'm
calling the Detroit Lions right friggin now, and I'm offering
the forty second overall pick for Jamison Williams. Take our
second rounder, boop trade offer, cent baby, take it and
give me Jamison Williams. Now. The reason why a parent
currently the Lions could be interested in moving Jamison Williams
(02:03):
is because of his contract. Jamison Williams has one year
left on his rookie contract seventeen point four one year.
Let me rephrase that, he has one year left on
his overall seventeen point four million dollar rookie contract. There's
also a fifth year option. I'll explain that in a minute,
but if we're just talking about money for the twenty
(02:23):
twenty five season, he's due to count five point four
million against the cap, so we got no nothing money here.
His base salary is two point six million dollars, so
it would be dirt cheap for this year. And then
we get into the fifth year option. That the Jets
or Lions or any team that would hold Jamison Williams
rights will have to make that decision by May first.
(02:44):
The fifth year option on Jamison Williams contract is projected
to be fifteen point four to nine million fully guaranteed.
So again, let's settle this. Jamison Williams has a five
point four million dollars cap hit for this year of
twenty twenty five and next year. If you accepted that
fifthyear option, which I would, it would be another deal
(03:07):
another year. Excuse me, fifteen point four to nine million
fully guaranteed, so you'd have him under contract for under
twenty two million for the next two seasons. That's an
absolute steal. And so bring it up, baby, and see
Green says, why not a third rounder? I imagine there's
going to be competition for the young man, and I'm
(03:28):
fine giving up the second rounder. I'm totally cool, because
who would you rather have? Jamison Williams or any receiver
that could be on the board of forty two. It's easy.
It's Jamison Williams all friggin day, baby, all bleeping day.
I'm taking Jamison Williams because I'm gonna play a clip.
This is from the NFL Combine and head coach Aaron
(03:50):
Glenn talked about how important speed is to the team
and he brings up Jmo aka Jamison Williams to as
an example. Go back. This is Aaron Glenn at the
NFL Combine speaking with Ethan Greenberg and Eric Ount about
how important speed is on offense. Roll the footage.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Can't you speak about the importance of speed, the speed
that you brought to the game yourself, and also the
speed that you guys were killing people with in Detroit.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
Yeah, yeah, listen. And there are a number of guys
that we actually scouted to play certain roles when it
comes to that. Obviously Jamo Or as the receiver position
because he was able to clear everything out, and then
we had one of the best slot receivers in the
Amaran Saint Brown right to be able to work underneath,
so that was a huge help. And then the one
two punch with the running backs that we had man
(04:36):
we had to hammer right, and then we had the
guy that could just take it to the house.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
Anytime he gets the ball.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
So I think speed puts fear in the defense, especially
at the certain positions, but allows everybody else underneath to
be to work and be to make plays.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
If Aaron Glenn is looking for somebody with Jamison Williams speed,
why not just get groundbreaking idea here? Jamison Blapan Williams.
This guy is an elite speedster. He never ran a
forty yard dash, but he's previously claimed that he believes
he could run a four to one forty, which would,
of course shatter the record set by Xavier Worthy, who
(05:13):
set the four to two to one forty yard dash
record at the twenty twenty four Combine. I'm telling you, man,
Jamison Williams is exactly what the doctor order for the
New York Jets. Here's here's the scouting report on James
Williams coming out of Alabama. Quote a linear route runner
with electric long speed to impact the game as a
home run hitter or decoy, drawing defenders away from other
(05:34):
elements of the offense. He has all the juice to
find consistent separation on vertical, over and post corner routes
and could see monstrous production if paired with a high
end talent at quarterback. Lanczer Line said before the draft, folks,
Jamison Williams is still believe it or not only twenty
four years of age. He would be twenty four for
the entirety of this upcoming season. In three seasons with
(05:57):
the Detroit Lions, he's appeared in thirty two games, has
made twenty one one starts. Is any three catches for
one thousand, three h ninety six receiving yards and twelve
total touchdowns. What the Jets need is explosiveness, and that's
exactly what Jamison Williams is. Go. Go back to his
college TAM twenty twenty one. Okay, he pushed it an
FBS best eleven touchdowns of thirty plus yards. That's exactly
(06:18):
what the doctor ordered. He's coming off the best year
of his NFL career. He set new career highs and catches,
receiving yards, touchdowns, and average yards per catch. That's fifty
eight catches, one thousand and one receiving yards, eight total touchdowns,
and he averaged seventeen point three yards per clip. So
he is explosive. He is young. Now here's the issue.
Here's the issue. I don't give a shit about the contract.
(06:40):
That's totally fine. That's dandy. Uh, I'll take it for
this year. I'll accept the fifth year option. No problem.
There The problem is with Jamison Williams is my man
likes getting suspended. Unfortunately, he's on a suspension streak right now.
He's been suspended twice in the National Football League. In
twenty twenty three, was suspended for violating the NFL's gambling policy.
(07:02):
He had to miss six games. This past season, who
is suspended for violating the NFL's pers performance enhancing substance policy.
He missed another two games there. So my boy gets
in trouble. However, Aaron Glenn knows who this guy is.
He was with the Detroit Lions in the pre draft
process when they identified and selected Jameson Williams, and he's
(07:26):
been with him his entire career until he just took
the Jets job this offseason. When you take a potential
problem child, the one thing you want to know is
who is this guy. Aaron Glenn would know that better
than anybody who this guy is. He'd be a perfect
compliment to Garrett Wilson. It would open up things underneath.
Exactly what Aaron Glenn just explained to the combine is
(07:47):
what do we do for this Jets offense? So again
I'm calling Detroit. I'm saying, hey, is this Albert Breer
stuff real? Is he available? Okay, here's a forty second
overall pick. You have to pay him. You got a
bunch of people gotta pay Aiden Hutchinson and all these
people left and right gotta pay you. Run ou out
of money. We'll help you out, help me help you.
(08:08):
Here's the forty second overall pick. Get a brand new
receiver and will take Jamison Williams twenty four years of age.
Pair of him with Garrett Wilson and have a dynamic
one two punch. Have a dynamic one two punch. So
I feel really good about it, man, I feel real
good about it. Love it, Give it to me. I
(08:29):
will take Jamison Williams all bleeping day. He'd be a
perfect compliment to Garrett Wilson. Aaron Glenn knows the player
knows the player pre draft as a scout knows the
player in the NFL was with him as n C says,
he knew him for both of his suspension, so he
was around him for that. Yes, yes, sir.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
Elite, speed, elite, elite, elite, an absolute that you always
have to account for. If you're an opposing defense, you're like,
where the hell is that? James and Williams.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Guy, Baby, where is Jamison Gash? Darren Williams? Tony Alexio says,
let's find our own f that when you could get
a Jameson Williams a twenty four years of age, twenty four?
Oh yes, oh yes, he's available. I'm not giving up
seventh overall. That's crazy, his contract situation, everything. I'd give
(09:26):
up forty two, and I think forty two is going
to beat almost any other offer on the table, to
be honest with you, So give it to me, baby.
Michael James says, speed, just draft Golden. It's not just speed.
There's plenty of fast guys. John Ross do you remember
who that is? Michael James? Do you remember who John
Ross is? Who was threatening to break Comby records when
(09:48):
he came out of school. He's the tenth overall pick
to the Cincinnati Bengals. It's worth a Doug, It's worth
a Google search. Long story short, he didn't work out
in the NFL. It's not just speed. James has the speed,
but it has to proven production. He's coming off a
wonderful season, the best season he's ever had at the
NFL level. So it's it's the speed, but the rest
(10:08):
of his game and he could do reversus. I mean
you saw that in the playoff game where at the
crazy like sixty yard touchdown. I mean, he's a freak.
It's a freak. And Tanner Angstrand, our Jets new offensive quarter,
obviously he knows him pretty well. There's just a lot
of connective tissue. Would know the offense. Oooh boy, woo wait, yes,
(10:30):
sign me the hell up. Phil asks this, why are
they giving up on a talent like that? In Williams Again,
two things. One contractually they have to pay people. They
have to pay it. In Hutchinson, he's gonna get crazy
Buco bucks and the number for EDG dressers keeps going
higher higher higher, And uh well, quite frankly, it's really,
(10:52):
to me, plainly about the money. I don't think it's
really about the suspensions. Who cares? You know? You know again,
you want him on the field, obviously, so who cares?
Obviously that's important you want him on the field. But
I don't think they think anything like that based on it.
But it's contractually. Eventually you gotta make big boy decisions.
(11:13):
Can we find another receiver? Jameson Willing like Okay, let's
this is a crazy com but right, why did the
Chiefs give up on Tyreek Keal? Tyrek Kill had awesome
has had awesome seasons for the Dolphins, but they didn't
want to pay the money, So like, let someone else
pay the money. We'll try to do it a different way.
And they won two straight Super Bowls after Tyrek Kill
got traded, So why would they give up on the talent?
(11:35):
Like that?
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Money?
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Who go Bucks is why you have to make big
boy decisions and roster construction. You can't pay everybody. So again,
he is twenty four right now, will be twenty four
for the entirety of the upcoming twenty twenty five season. Yeah,
the age, the talent, the Aaron Glenn knowledge, it really
(11:58):
is quite intriguing, quite frankly. Yeah, have most sixty three says,
hey giving up the pick, but look at the player, baby,
look at the player. Yes, Jamison Williams was the first
round pick, so he has a fifth year option of
his contract. Yeah, the lines traded up there at the
(12:19):
back end of the first round. That traded up with
the Vikings. He was like a top twelve pick, Jamison Williams. Yeah,
Jimmy Jets is not forty two. I'd maybe give up
seventy three. Sure, when I give up seventy three, yes,
but I think there's going to be a competitive market
for Jamison Williams. People are going to be looking at him,
and if we could get him for third, awesome. But
(12:39):
to me, I don't want to play around. I'm willing
to give up forty two. That's just how highly I
think about Jamison Williams. Michael James says, Draft Golden have
him cheap for five years. I'm not going to spoil things, Michael,
but I've got another plan with that first round pick,
and me and Woody's mock draft comes out at three
o'clock live on the show, So i don't want to
(13:01):
spoil anything, but I've got a different plan in the
first round.
Speaker 8 (13:06):
Wink.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
All right, I'm back at three o'clock. You'll see what
I'm talking about. Baby Lucas says was he from Garrett Draft?
You're correct? Yes, yes, he was twenty twenty two. That
was the Drake London Draft, Garrett Wilson, Jamo. Who else
was in that? Let me get all the other receivers
from that class. Let me see else that was a
(13:31):
big receiver draft. Who did we have here at wide
receiver in the twenty twenty two draft? Okay, uh right,
so we had Drake London, we had Garrett Wilson, Chris o'lave.
How could I forget Jmo? It went wide receiver, wide
receiver Rogers here at ten eleven twelve Boom, boom boom,
(13:52):
Garrett Wilson, Chris o'lave, Detroit and the Saints moved up
for Olave. The lines moved up for Jmo. One of
the receivers, Johan Dotson.
Speaker 9 (14:02):
Yikes.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Trailing Burk's bully, We got our receiver. There's a lot
of trailing Burke's wide receiver hype that year. Yikes. Christian
Watson was in this draft, uh Wandale Robinson yikes. John
Metsi the third yikes, Taekwon Thornton, yikes. George Pickens, he's
He's a crazy bastard, but pretty damn good. Alec Pierce
(14:24):
sky Moore, you get the point on that wide receiver
glass get it while the getting's good quite frankly, but yes,
that was his class. Yes, Dad, County mcwiss's golden as
elite speed. Again, it's more than just elite speed. Speed helps.
Certainly we need the rest of the package. Jamo has
the rest of the package. Lucas says, how will we
(14:46):
pay everyone? Those decisions will come in due time, Luca,
those decisions come in due time. We can't pay everybody.
The fact of the amount of no NFLT could pay everybody.
The Eagles are doing hell with job always paying everybody.
But yeah, we'll see Dade County mcwie's pops draft in
Golden First. Yeah, there was the trade down dropping down
from seven to twenty. I like the move personally, I
(15:09):
like the move. Yeah, if you could do it, that's
a great move. Yeah, shout out to my pops. He
got a raving review from our draft analyst yesterday, Drew Batty,
I was a spect to called Drew McIntyre. Whoops, it's funny.
This is why I love doing this right, So I say,
I want to give up forty two overall for Jamie
(15:31):
said Waiam's bill like, ah, that's too expensive, maybe a third,
fourth or fifth, And then Matthias Simon's like, I think
it's gonna take more than forty two. Well what some
people say, Oh, forty two is just right. Paul other
people say ah way more, someone says ah way less.
I don't know. I guess we're all doing this together.
(15:52):
John says Jets aren't gonna be able to afford him
in GW They're already committing fifty million next year. Sauce
Garrett Wilson or Jermain Johnson. We'll get into that on
a different show. That could have been today's show. But
this JMO thing was too tasty, too tasty, and I disagree.
I think they'll totally be able to pay both. Yeah, again, Jmo,
you have if you trade it for him, you have
(16:14):
him for the next two years of twenty two million
dollars total. It's pretty good. You don't have to pay
everybody early. You could wait, get him for two years
and twenty two million, and then we'll figure it out.
That's what I say. Yeah, I love when this question
comes through. It's one of my favorite questions. Jo Homes says,
(16:36):
if this guy is so good, why would Detroit trade
him so? Jo Holmes, has any good player been traded
in NFL history? Has any good player been traded? If
he's so good, why would someone do it? Organizations make
dumb decisions all the time. Why do people do this
or this or this. There's busts, there's six that work out,
(16:57):
this thing that don't work out. Why would Detroit t
him because they don't have all the answers they don't
you know, again, we go back to contract. That's why
sometimes you have to trade good players contractor like god, geez,
we can't get Tyreek kell I just mentioned him earlier.
Did the Chiefs think he was good? He like nearly
broke the all time Calvin Johnson receiving record after leaving
(17:18):
the Chiefs. Good players get traded all the time, Yo
Holmes all the time. Alan Bingo didn't Jameson play with
Garrett Ohio was day before he transferred to Obama. That's true.
So another one maybe? Sure, yes, sir, Yeah, let's keep
(17:46):
going through your questions. Jimmy Jets, who knows if Glenn
Wantson well, based on that answer at the combat, it
sounds like he wants He says he's trying to find
the speed like Jamo. That's that's straight from the horse's mouth.
That's what I would say is why he would like him.
He's talked him up a lot, exactly. Moondo Taylor Star,
(18:07):
there's not a talent like Jamison Williams available pick forty two,
which is exactly why I take forty two. I think
forty two is an incredibly valuable pick. But Jamison Williams, Jamo,
come on, now, come on now. Dade count McFly says
we need to be thinking realistically, not these fake stories
before the draft. I disagree. What should we be talking about?
(18:31):
Dade count McFly thinking realistic? What is realistic? Players fall
in the draft all the time, Tyreek Hill getting traded
out of nowhere, he's thinking realistically. A prominent NFL insider
who Albert Brew I trust among the most respected him
Jay Glazer. There's a few NFL insiders that I hold
in very high regard, and their information seemingly is always right.
(18:54):
So I push back on what you say. Date is
what is realistic? At what is not? I don't all
this a fake story. When a Albert Breer comes out
and says this, that means something. And to me, now
I hear him say that, I say, Okay, he could
be available. Here's what I would do. Don't I don't
call this a fake story. This is what I would do.
(19:14):
Oh he might be available? Why I'd offer this? And
then you wave the pros and cons of contractual reasons
and all this other stuff. So I push back on
that aggressively. Yeah, and I see Heisman's all about it
would be cool, would be nice if we could pull
off this trade. It for sure would And so everyone's
been talking about. Ah the former Ohio State guys like,
(19:37):
give me Chris olav Chris olave he's captain concussion right
now and that sucks and I wish he didn't, but
he's captain concussion. One more concussion, his career could be over.
So Chris o'lavey had no thank you unless it's like
a fifth round pick or something. Man give me JMO though, Okay,
give me some JM. The Jets do have players, just
(20:00):
but they'll figure it out. I can't wait for the draft.
The draft will be awesome, hennessee Heisman. I won't bring
your comment on the screen, but we might be aligned.
Okay again, my mock draft coming out later. I got
some big ideas. Alan says, I'm sad to think that
(20:23):
my boy, Ashton Genty would be gone by pick seventies.
My draft crush. I love Ashtroon Genty, absolutely love Ashton Genty.
So I mean, that would be a crazy reaction if
that happens. Yeah, Marca Sashetti here, why would we saddle
ourselves with this salary after this year saddle? I guess
(20:45):
we just have different opinions on saddle. Twenty two million
dollars is the combined total for Jamison Williams over the
next two years. Combined, that would be if you want
to split up the average, that's eleven million per year.
Highest paid wide receiver in football is making forty plus
million dollars. We're paying twenty five percent of that, and
(21:06):
that's saddling with salary that we have different opinions of
saddling with salary. Marky Marky, Mark Marky and the Funky Bunch. Okay,
we have different opinions of saddling. Then I think the
next two years is an insane steel to have Jmo
at twenty two million dollars in the next two seasons.
But hey, different strokes, different folks, all right, different books, Molan.
(21:38):
The Jets aren't winning Super Bowl in two years, though?
Why trade for this guy? Why is every move about
winning a Super Bowl? Why is every move about winning
a Super Bowl? Jamo opens things up for Garrett Wilson,
Jamo helps Justin Fields, Jamo helps Breeze Hall. I don't
get that the Jets aren't winning a Super Bowl two
(22:00):
or so, so why trade for this guy? Then? Why
draft anyone? Why add anyone to the team If we're
not gonna win the sup Bowl next year's I guess
we should just take our lunch pail and go home.
Come on, Molan, come on man, what are we talking about?
You make no sense. Every move is not just about
winning the Super Bowl or not winning the Super Bowl.
You're improving your team Jets. Here, Jets with Jameson Williams. Here,
(22:22):
they're better with Jameson Williams. Come on, man, come on now,
what are we talking about? All right, let's see, let's

harder for me to see the Jake Asmin's and some
of the other shows because I'm catching up on all
the insider content. So oh, okay, there you go. I
was just about to say, so, I have no idea
he could be on there all the time. I've got
no clue. So no, yeah, June's been a hot second.
(29:15):
And he must be preparing for that basketball game, I guess.
And I just hadma I don't know.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
Yeah, I just hope he wasn't.
Speaker 11 (29:22):
You know, that whole thing didn't spook him about coming
on the show and stuff, you know.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Yeah, And I want to say, I'm glad that you
brought that part of it up. Pep. I hope and
Manuel says, June had a live on a show last night,
so whenever June. So that's good to hear. But I
would just say in general, I hope we all can
just sort of like when I enter a movie theater,
I suspend my disbelief. So in the middle of a
(29:47):
Mission impossible movie, I'm like, oh, a nice jump top cruise.
You can't do that in real life. I don't think
like that. I'm just enjoying the movie. So to bring
that in a weird way to boy Green Dally, I
hope that we can all sort of bust each other's
balls and have a good time and talk on the
show and like that. Nothing is taken to personally. Again,
there's always lines, but I just hope in general that
(30:07):
we can all sort of have a good time. And
so I hope that no one has taken great offense
either way to anything. So I hope, like I said,
we could sort of enter the show and accept that
at the beginning there's gonna be some ball busting going on,
but it's all in good fun.
Speaker 11 (30:20):
Yeah, I mean, that's I mean, I'm from that generation
of ball busting. That's that's almost how you showed affection
because men don't show affection.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Like right way not no, Yeah, you're buck each.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Other's balls, you know, right, that's what it is.
Speaker 13 (30:32):
But anyway, I.
Speaker 11 (30:33):
Just if you're out there listening, June, come on back,
it's no big deal.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
We love you there, you go have appreciate it kind
words and that's how I. I don't say it all
the time. And I hope that's like my father, right
do you guys tune into the show every week? He's
busted my ball since I've come out of the womb,
for God's sakes. So yeah, man, it's it's part of it.
Jimmy Jet says, can we just leave balls alone? In general?
(30:57):
That's probably for the best, quite frankly, a lot of
ball busting, smacking balls, blue balls, balls, this a lot
of ball talk. Let's put the ball ball talk on
the back burner. Actually that sounds incredibly painful. Let's just
put the balls aside. Any who, let's get to the
phone lines. We've got Ny jetsfl here on the show.
What's up? Ted?
Speaker 3 (31:16):
Hey, Paul in solidarity with your last name? And I
took off my moniker.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Oh no, I think that's good ball. But to me,
I think that's good ball. Busting to remind you know,
like because like to me, so here and Ted you
could speak to this because you were on the receiving
end of what a lot of people believe was a
line crossing, and that so you giving it back to
him on a consistent basis. I sort of chuckle because
(31:47):
it seems like you've with everything just sort of spilled
out there, you've taken it in as good of fun
as you could take something like that. So yeah, but
that's where a lot of people believe lines have been
crossed in yesteryear, which then could lead to other things.
But no, I thought it was funny.
Speaker 13 (32:02):
Thank you. Yeah, me too.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
I And and if anyone noticed that it was misspelled,
so just it was purposely done. So like the stereotype,
the fact that I am evidently from the Deep South,
and I never lived in New York, and I have
no sophistication and I have a bachelor's degree. But that's
all irrelevant, So let's get onto the football, Paul. So
(32:25):
I don't think I want Jameson Williams.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
I I.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
I'd rather draft Abuka or somebody else and take my chance. Yeah,
I mean, I I loved it. I love it in theory.
But and it's great when you think about it on paper.
But you know, I consider Jared goffin elite quarterback. A
lot of people baby down a little bit. But when
(32:53):
you when you put a receiver, if you put Jameson
Williams on the Jets with Justin Field thrown to him,
is he really going to be an elite receiver? I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
You know, golf Lander, what the hell.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Go You know, golf? Golf is ridiculous when he's on,
when he's on point, I mean, he really is a
really really good quarterback. So I mean, you know, it's
like taking Jamar Chase, you know, and taking him away
from Joe Burrow. I mean, what are you really going
to get Chase? You are going to get a really
good player.
Speaker 13 (33:27):
But will he be e LEI? I don't know.
Speaker 8 (33:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
I think on the rookie deal, I'd rather take one
of these.
Speaker 8 (33:36):
If you're gonna go wide.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Receiver, I'd rather draft one and not spend half the
impact of the two contracts such as Jameson Williams and
Garrett go ahead.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
This was uh, this is gonna be an aggressive way
to put it, but it goes to show us right.
A couple of years ago, we were all, I don't know,
I don't want to say we all. I don't know
how many people were on it or off it, but
I imagine a lot of Jet fans were Tyreek Ca out
of nowhere. Who the Jets are in this thing? They
could get tyreyk Kouroll, Holy freaking crap, Tyreek Hill. Good Lord,
have mercy, terrific, let's go. And the Jets just missed
out on Tyreek Hill. And we hear all the reasons
(34:07):
why and everything later. And then a month later, the
Jets take some kid name and I want to make
sure I pronounce this right. Garrott Wilson, Garrett, It's always
it's always tough. But we take this Garrett Wilson guy,
and you break down the numbers. Tyreek Hill made thirty
million per year. That's more than the entirety of Garrett
Wilson's rookie contract at the time. And now you're throwing
in the fifth year options more. But when you looked
(34:28):
at the four year contract that Garrettilson had as a
rookie as a tenth overall pick versus what Tyreek Hill
made per year, Garrett Wilson got less, so ultimately right,
they say, sometimes this blessing in disguise. The best movie
you can make is a move you don't And the
move the Jets did not make on the Tyreek Hill
thing was getting Garrett Wilson, and now we have hopefully
this young superstar rivers you were forever. And so that again,
(34:52):
when you hit it right, that story sounds pretty good.
When you draft Steven Hill with a tenth overall pick,
you're like, a shit, we should have trained the Tyreek
Hill guy. So I guess it's all trusting your own scouting.
Speaker 8 (35:03):
Ultimately exactly Movies.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
I think Movie's press conference was really solid, and not
for the Rogers comments or about his draft philosophy, where
he basically stated, you know everyone, all these people in
the organization have a say, and they you know, the
medical and the scouts and and that you know, people
that watch the film and then they can look at
(35:32):
variables like they mentioned. One reporter asked a good question,
you know, what do you consider like body type and
that was referring to the offensive tackle from LSU. You know,
having shorter arms, that it's a factor that you know
at the end decision, it's like a it's a variable.
It's not like a huge deal, but it's something. It's
(35:52):
something to consider. If they don't want Will Campbell and
he slides to seven I and they want offensive Lineman
and Membo's gone. I think they gotta take him. I
don't care. He's so productive anybody watching the LSU tape.
And he's got a mean streak too, So that's the
kind of And and Glenn talks about his kind of players,
(36:15):
and you talk about and you know, people talk about
Tyler Warren, who's another you know, kind of a nasty
not I say nasty player, but you know he's got
a physical attitude, you know, physical presence and attitude about
the way he plays.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
That's I think those are Glenn's kind of guys.
Speaker 8 (36:32):
So that's all I got.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
It's gonna Paul. It's a fascination.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
It's the most fascinating thing is the draft, the smoke screens,
the psychology, the different you know, the games that they play,
and the reporters reporting. It's it's really ridiculous wild, you know,
so nothing would shock me. Different thing, nothing would shock me.
You can take you know, they can take gent or
(36:56):
they can take you know, I don't care who you
you know, whoever at Buka at seven, anything goes.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Really that's about it, Ted. Thanks Ted, I appreciate it.
I would just say this a lot. If you guys
do not see that they're in Mooji press conference, it's
it's a real hoot. It was seventeen minutes in length.
I love how he started off the press conference explaining
what the hell they've been doing the last couple of weeks.
He described it as pulling up and bringing us behind
(37:24):
the curtain and super cool hearing about their process and
what Ted was referencing is most NFL teams have benchmarks
at certain positions. Right, remember we talked about with Bill Parcells, right,
Aaron Glenn shorter corner. He normally wants his corners at
least this tall whatever it was, six foot, six foot one,
six foot two, whatever it was. It says, hey, when
(37:44):
I'm picking a corner, these are the rules. They have
to be at least this tall, this way, this offensive
tackles at least this arm length, at least this There
are shorten thresholds for a lot of teams and say
you have to meet this, this and this. If you
don't you're off the board. I'm not even thinking about you.
I'm going to this. It was interesting Moogi's answer because
(38:05):
the question would be will Campbell, if he's still available,
is he just going at four to the Patriots. I've
heard a lot of buzz about that we all have properly,
maybe that's just the answer. But I'm curious on the thresholds,
because again, we don't really have a sense on thresholds.
Darren Mouji and he described it this way too. He
went from the guy suggesting picks and now he's the
guy making the picks. Big difference. Aaron Glenn was a
(38:29):
guy who maybe suggested picks. Now he's helping make picks.
It'll be curious to see that process. But I love
the Darren Mougi presser yesterday. A lot of takeaways, and
again we'll cover some of that on the show tomorrow.
We have a very special guest joining us, a former
NFL network host. There's a little hint we'll be talking
some New York jets tomorrow and some of that Darren
(38:50):
Muji presser, we'll save that for tomorrow. Good things come
to those who wait. We got five hundred people in
the room, like the video hit subscribe, baby. I appreciate
the support. Let's keep rolling on the phone lines. We
have the legendary. Here are the program. It's up easy,
good morning, it's good to see you, pal am I
centered in the screen. Yes you are okay.
Speaker 13 (39:10):
First off, yesterday you were laughing at me. I was
not advocating for the Jets to do a wishbone offense. Okay,
First and foremost, that would never work. Yeah, that would
because I think you'd think guys were thinking I was
talking about that. No, I was mentioning it. I saw
a documentary on it, and it was a really interesting documentary.
It showed how when it first came in to college,
(39:34):
the teams that ran it were kicking the crap out
of people. It would never work in today's NFL because
the players are too fast and they would string it
out and everyone every play would go for a four
yard loss.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Okay, because when I was laughing yesterday, it had absolutely
nothing to do for your wishbone offense. It was simply
on a lot of these calls recently, it looks like
you're entering the atmosphere, there's a lot shaking, and then
you must have hit a pothole or something, because then
he had had a great vertical jump. I wish I
had the combine measurements out. Oh I'm sorry, so no
(40:09):
so that I just I couldn't control myself. And then
I see crew he's laughing because I know.
Speaker 13 (40:14):
Yeah, I saw you guys thought. No, I wasn't advocating
for that. That was I was just saying. It was
a If you get a chance to watch it, it's
a really good documentary.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
I love it. Easy. You bring a lot to the table,
so to me, I love that you we're throwing things
talking about him.
Speaker 13 (40:30):
Well, the point I was actually making yesterday was, uh,
I think brace Hall's going to test free agency, so
we may as well trade him while we have an opportunity.
That was the main point I was making about yesterday.
Now the point now here's what I'm going to talk
about today. I agree with you. I agree we take
a flyer on Jamison Williams and I'll tell you why.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (40:50):
Okay, So like everything that you said, that that Aaron
Glenn knows the kid, he knows his heart, he knows
his work ethic, he knows everything about him. Straight up.
Now he's cheap for two years so you take him
for the two years if you can get him, because
it's always an if you can get him for the
right price. Uh. And then if he works out, then
(41:10):
you worry about the money. If he doesn't work out,
slam walk. But at least for two years we got
something good and it gives us an opportunity to still
draft somebody and groom them and bring them up. Sure,
but he's an he's an instant fix. And the only
reason the Jets didn't take him in the draft was
because of his leg injury. I said, didn't he didn't
(41:31):
he have an a c L or something.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Yeah, I think he blew out an a c L
and the and the you know, like a championship game
or something. Yeah, yeah, that sounds right because I knew
he was not struggling whatever the word is. To the
hes the number one.
Speaker 13 (41:50):
He was the number one guy on like everybody's board.
And to Detroit's credit, they were like, look, when this
guy hels up, he's gonna be amazing. Just just get him.
I don't care if it's first, I just just get him.
He's going to be great. And they did, and he
is great.
Speaker 9 (42:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
It was before the season. It looks like he tours
a c O in the during the summer of twenty
twenty two if I have this correct, and then he
ended up coming back eventually ended up making play. So
there you go. That makes sense.
Speaker 13 (42:18):
He would he would have been a top ten pick.
I think he almost was. When did Detroit pick him?
Speaker 1 (42:24):
They traded up let me see, I thought he was twelve,
but let me double check. Yeah, twelve, So they were
at like twenty seven to twenty eight and they called
up the Vikings and made this massive trade up to
twelve to get him.
Speaker 13 (42:35):
Yeah, he might have made it down to like fifteen,
but he was never going to make it up to
where they were never.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
Right.
Speaker 13 (42:41):
Yeah, but if he wasn't injured, he'd he'd probably been
the top five.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
I believe that, Yeah, sure, yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah.
The injury probably scared a few teams off.
Speaker 13 (42:50):
Yeah, and I understand why. But putting him on the
field with Gatt Wilson would be uh, I'd be great
because we got three We got the three headed monster
in the backfield. If we get Tyler Warren, that could
be good or another really good. There's a couple of
good tight ends, aren't there, Like three or four like
(43:13):
really good tight ends this year's.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Draft, for sure, Colston Lovelin, Terrence Ferguson, Aronde Gadson, Mason, Taylor, Gunner, Helm,
I mean, Harrold Vann and Junior my dad's boy. Yeah,
there's a lot of really good tight ends in this class.
Speaker 13 (43:26):
See this, This is how I do draft. In my head,
I look at the positions that we need and the
quality of the players out there, and then I say
to myself, Okay, which players if we don't take him,
will we not be able to get this kind of
a quality player later on? And this is where my
head was at because I was all about taking Sauce,
(43:47):
Gardner and and my theory was there's two good cornerbacks
and then it drops like a rock, whereas they were
about five to seven really good, you know, edge rushers
in that draft. So that's why I was all about,
you gotta take Sauce. You gotta take Sauce. You gotta
take Sauce, because if you don't get him, you're not
(44:09):
gonna get anybody even half as good as him. Whereas
if you if you if you take a edge rusher,
there are about three or four more really stupid good
edge rushers that you can grab later on. So you
got to get the guy that you can get when
you can get him, if he's like one of the
few available. So that's where I am with this draft.
(44:30):
I'm going between like, like we said, Tyler Warren and
the and Mason Graham and I heard there's like this
other big, like six foot eight stud like monster. Who's
that guy that everybody's been talking about?
Speaker 1 (44:46):
Uh? What position does you play?
Speaker 13 (44:48):
Oh, he's a defensive lineman. I think he's an interior
defensive He's like, yeah, six foot eight.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Yeah. Dion Walker out of Kentucky is a big boy
that you used to be. Hey, before this year he
was mocked u to the Jets in the first round
and he didn't have a great year, so he's fallen
into the mid rounds. Yeah, I love they all Walker.
I'd love they all Walker.
Speaker 13 (45:08):
The thing the thing I'm trying to figure out with
our first round pick, where is it that it's a
rarer commodity in this year's draft. Is it tight end,
is it ed drusher or is it old line? Because
whichever the leanest position is in the draft, that's what
you want to attack. That's what I want to attack
first because there's more opportunities to get good players in
(45:32):
a late round. I want to I want to get
that blue chip guy while I have the opportunity to
get him. And that's where I was in that draft
where we got Sauce because it was like it was
Sauce and Stingley, yeah, and then everything yeah, and then
everything was like, I mean, I'm not saying the other
players are trash. I would never say that another college
(45:52):
player is trash because these kids they work their asses off.
But I'm saying as far as the highest, highest possible ceilings,
it was Stingley and Sauce and then there was a
big drop off. So that's why I was like, all
about getting him, just you gotta grab him, get him now.
It's a premium position also, so you gotta get.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Him and say GM easy, Hey, that's us. Guy's been
pretty good. They listen to you, easy, right.
Speaker 13 (46:18):
So rare is your feeling on this? Who do you
think is the rarest commodity? And why would you pick
that guy at number seven if he's available, And I'll
hand it back to you.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
I appreciate it, easy, Thanks for the question. The rarest
position basically, the position I don't think has a lot
of depth and is a need for the Jets, and
I would attack it to make sure I get somebody
so I don't get screwed. Well, I mean, ultimately depends
on how your group in scouting staff feels about the
offensive tackles, because if you believe an Ossie Trapilla, which
(46:57):
has been a very popular right tackle pick in the
second or third round for the Jets, or Ariante Ursery
at a Minnesota or I don't know if Josh Connelly
Junior is going to be available there, but you know, like,
if you feel good about that second third level of tackles,
you're good passing at seven. The same thing at tight end.
(47:20):
Are you a Tyler Warner Colston Loveland guy. If you are,
do you just hit while the iron's hot? Or do
you wait for whoever that guy is. I'm trying to
think of anything else, Ashton Genty at the top or
you take a running back later? Who else am I
think of a defensive tackle? Again? It seems like there's
(47:42):
a lot of guys from my peanut brain of Tyler Williams,
Kenneth Grant. We mentioned Dion Walker earlier. He'll be more
in the third, fourth, fifth round probably, but you know
that's another position. But the one I guess I would say,
for the sake of your question, it's it would probably
(48:04):
be mmmm, I'd probably say offensive linemen. I would say
offensive tackle. That's probably where I would lean as the
one that's richest. And then, like, you don't know what
the next level is. I have hopes for the next level,
but I don't feel as confident, So that would probably
be it if I used that strategy. We've got a
(48:25):
ton more callers here, let's go. This guy hasn't been
on the show in a long time. Drake Correa has
graced us with his presence. He's back, baby, what's up?
Speaker 2 (48:34):
How you doing, big pool listen. I wanted to stay
before anything else. I visited Syracuse last week.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Oh hey, now now the.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
First time I had never been there before.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
And what were your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (48:49):
It's set. So I attended Rutgers out of my freshman year.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
I went to I'm sorry to hear that was that
was my.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
First expression into like going to like a big college
that I got that same vibe from Syracuse. You know
that the university is kind of like the big thing
in this in the City.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Oh absolutely it is.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Yeah, went for that Metallic Account concert.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
Oh yeah, there was on Oh my god, WrestleMania and
there was what Saturday, right, Yeah, it was amazing.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
I had a great time Tracker live before. You know,
I didn't have out on my Bingo card that I
was going to turn into a metal head in my fifties.
But that works. Hey, yeah, I had a great time,
great energy. Those guys are old rocking like that was crazy.
But that's a show, good show though, great show, fantastic.
(49:46):
I'll tell you right now. The only reason why you
know that they're old is because like they have wrinkles
and gray hair. But the energy level.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
Okay, that's what I was going to be worried about,
like because you get it on the billboard, right, Metallica
and who are these all guys? Where's the energy? Where's
the whatever's here?
Speaker 2 (50:04):
I don't I don't know what they're doing. I don't
know if you remember the movie Cocoon, but they are
literally old people with the energy of the young people
would like that. You wouldn't know, just the way they
perform and everything like that.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Fantastic.
Speaker 13 (50:18):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
Aside from all that, I gotta say your your suggestion
Jamison Williams. That's really intriguing to me. I really liked
that idea of Parry and Garrett and Jamo because as
you as you may know, they did a there was
a pre draft show where they were kind of followed
(50:40):
Garrett and Jamison, and Jamison was already hurt. He had
already had the surgery and he was in the process
of rehabbing. So it'd be interesting to be a dynamic.
I think that they would. I think they would work
off of each other very well. I think that I
think it could be really really interesting. My concern would
be what we would have to give up.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Yes, yeah, there's been debate about that in the comments
sexually what people believe, whether my forty two overall in
the second round is too high, too low, all over
the place.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
Yeah, Like yeah, but I don't I don't like, if
you're holding Jamison Williams, are you giving him up for
anything less than your forty the number forty two, I mean,
like he was a first round pick, like so like
he well, I should get a first round for it.
So I don't know how that would work, sure, but
it's a very interesting idea behind it. And then kind
(51:32):
of saves us from having to get a wide receiver
in the draft and everything like that. But you know,
I'm sure we'll see what they come out. I haven't
done enough of the research yet to kind of have
a pick. Oh we have to have this guy. That guy.
I've never been good at evaluating talent. I just no
talent when I see it. Like, that's why I'm such
(51:52):
a huge Garrett Wilson fan. Like Garrett Wilson was it
for me? Like, I don't know if you remember last year.
I got a lot of shave, especially I'm being on
Jake's show for twenty eight Touchdown Island.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
Which I remember that. Yeah, I love it because Terrence
on our show, what was he What did he say? Oh,
he had some Terrence on our program had something like
he thought he so you had touchdowns, he had catches.
He thought he was going to have something like and
I'm gonna forget the number now, but like one hundred
and fifty kitch And I'm like, what in the world.
He's like, yeah, man, it's just going to be getting
(52:25):
like ten catches a game. I'm like, I'm doing the math.
I'm like, okay, I guess so and yeah, so Terrence
was tooting the horn really hard. He'll remind us. I'm
sure he's in the chat. He'll remind us of whatever
that prediction was on Garrett. But yeah, a lot of hype,
and and for good reason. I love Garrett.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, so, like I mean, I think that Garrett. Hopefully
Garrett can get to that level one day. You know,
I'll keep my biggest cross. And at this point, I
can't even say anything like, oh, any guarantees or anything
like that for this year, Like last year broke me,
it really did.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
I can't blame you. Yeah, so I'm.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
Just best play available. Please let this leadership have some
sense of idea. No, let them know what they're doing.
Please just give them the foresight and hopefully it all
comes to. But as far as like talk or you know,
trash talk or anything like that, I'm gonna be quiet
all year. I'm just silent because I want to believe.
But they're gonna have to show me something because I've
(53:23):
been I've had the wool pulled over my eyes too
many times, and as a Jet fan to be oh,
you know what, this this is the year. No, you
know what, I don't even know. I'm just watching. I
hope to see something great. That's it. I'm leaving it
at that. That's as positive as I can be.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Which fair enough, Drey, and great to have you back
on the show. Glad that you were back here in
the Salt City for the first time here in Syracuse.
It's a it's a it's a beautiful, little quaint town.
It's very nice. I love it a sweek which like
forty five minutes out for Syracuse. I drive Syracuse every
day for my radio job. And yeah, it's a nice play,
but very well said that Syracuse University on the Hill
(53:59):
sort of runs operation Terrence Hill says he's here the chat,
no doubt. One hundred catches by week ten, that was
the take. I knew he had something. I knew he
had something. One hundred catches by week ten unfortunately did
not happen, but hey, he had this. He ended up
with the second most receptions of any Jets receiver all time,
right behind Brandon Marshall. So not too shabby there, Garrett Wilson,
(54:19):
and only the second receiver tied at anything to have
one hundred plus catches in a season. It's Brandon Marshall
at one o nine and now Garrett Wilson. That's the list.
So Garrett a very very special player. Let's keep rolling
on the phone lines. Up next, we have Rickey New York.
Bay's up.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
Ricky, Hey, what's happened, Paul? You know what, I'm pretty
much done talking about the draft until it happens. Sure,
I'm gonna probably not be calling in a lot of
shows between now and then. Mckach I almost feel that
(54:55):
it's a moot point, you know, after a while, like,
what's gonna happen is gonna happen.
Speaker 8 (55:02):
Uh, you know, it's out of our control no matter
who we like.
Speaker 4 (55:05):
And if anything, the Jets have taught me over the
years that if there's a guy I really really like,
that's who they're not going to take.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (55:13):
You know, most of the time, what I did want
to say.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
Is uh.
Speaker 8 (55:22):
Oh, gotcha like, but part of part of my point
is escaping me.
Speaker 4 (55:27):
Uh yeah, you know what.
Speaker 8 (55:33):
Actually, I'm not gonna talk about that. I'm gonna switch gear.
I'm gonna switch gears really.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
Sure, yeah, call it audible. That's fine, all right, coach,
let's go.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
You know, the thing with the Jamison Williams thing, it
is interesting and you know he could be you know,
our Jamison Williams too. You know here it would be
our I'm n raw Brown, right. That kind of combination
has has worked together. However, the money, you know, then
(56:02):
you're going to have two receivers on expiring deals. I mean,
we're already talking about you know, Brice and this and that,
and we're not going to be able to keep. Everybody says,
so you want to bring in yet another guy that
we're not going to.
Speaker 8 (56:14):
Be able to keep.
Speaker 4 (56:17):
That's that's where I differ, and I would rather take
somebody in the draft. And speaking of taking people in
the draft, oh my goodness, I think if I hear
one more person say we need to trade Breece, my
head is going to friggin explode. Do people not understand
what the deepest running back class in a decade means.
(56:40):
It means there are so many good running backs in
this class that literally a third of the league could
come away with a starter who is on a rookie deal.
We're going to take our second round pick running back
that we think we can do better than, and we're
(57:01):
going to trade him for what a third?
Speaker 6 (57:03):
A fourth?
Speaker 4 (57:04):
I mean, I don't It just doesn't make sense that
is just completely ludicrous.
Speaker 8 (57:11):
It does not make sense at all. The other thing
I want to say is, you.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
Know, I had a thought last night and you're talking
about this, and so many people.
Speaker 8 (57:21):
Get hung up on the positional value.
Speaker 4 (57:24):
You know, whether it be Tyler Warren, Oh, you don't
take a tight end d But I get flack for
my Matthew Golden take. Oh, I wouldn't mind Matthew Golden,
but not at seven. Let me ask you something. If
not at seven when okay, yes, I understand like he's
not justin Jefferson, Okay, that he's the best receiver in
(57:47):
this class. He'll probably be the first receiver taken, you know,
unless three siblings is making the pick for somebody. But
the thing is, is you say not at seven, Well,
guess what if you're going to talk about positional value
and stuff. Tight end at seven is a is you know,
(58:09):
not normal?
Speaker 1 (58:10):
Right right tackle at seven all these other things.
Speaker 4 (58:12):
Sure, right tackle is a complete reach at seven, but
those are all, you know, fair points. But if I
say something about a receiver, you know, I catch flack
for it.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
And I think, and Ricky, you've said this before to me.
If there's a player you like, you take the player.
You don't get cute. Well, it's like, technically trade to fourteen,
that'd be more value.
Speaker 6 (58:38):
I pick up a fourth, I pickup a pickup.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
Come on, man, if you love the player, you're like
Matthew Golden is unequivocally right. You have this take and
you think he's the number one wide receivering this class,
you'd be a perfect houp of it Forgarrett. That what
are we talking about? Stop talking to me and submit
the pick. Baby, Like, let's let's not get too cute.
You get cute, you can lose your guy, unless, like
I said, it's a seven to nine drop to New
Orleans and you have great short saying that Caroline's taking
(59:01):
a pass rusher. Let's say you know what, the Saints
are moving up for probably a quarterback. That okay, I'm
more than willing for you to go from seven to
nine because my all my players I wanted seven are
gonna be there a nine. I just picked up an
extra pig. But you start dropping beyond that, that's where
it gets a little freaky.
Speaker 4 (59:14):
Yeah, exactly, And and I've had that happen to me
in several moncks, where like say I traded back to
nine with New Orleans or you know, eleven with San
Francisco or whatever, and I'm like, oh, look, there's still
two or three guys I like that are still on
the board. And then I end up moving back to
like nineteen and those three guys go boom boom boom.
(59:35):
And then I'm sitting there and I'm like, damn it,
you know, because I've had I had a mock like
that recently where not only the top guys that we
always talk about, but you know, Golden Kenneth Grant, you know,
Nick Emon worried like went, you know, inside the top twenty,
and like then I'm sitting there like damn it, you know,
(59:58):
and not sound.
Speaker 8 (01:00:00):
Like a hypocrite for what I just said.
Speaker 4 (01:00:02):
But then I'm like, Okay, well, now I'm sitting here
in the twenties and I don't see anybody with the
value that I want that's still here. And I outsmarted
myself by by trying to trade one too many times,
which I'm not worried about that happening in real life,
because it's hard enough to trade down once. Doing it
(01:00:24):
twice in the first round not going to happen. But
and don't get me wrong, I love it. You know,
you get one of those crazy you know, I feel
like an eighth grader fucking mocks where you trade back
several times and it's like I've got nineteen picks. Now
i can build a whole team. You know, that kind
of stuff doesn't happen in the real world. But you
(01:00:47):
know what, at the same time, you know, I think
we could make him a slight move back and still
come away with a very good player. I'm not opposed
to that at all if the opportunity presents itself. And
one thing I got to say, you know, it's, uh,
we did a mock on on green Beans channel last night.
(01:01:09):
It turned out really really well, by the way, like
like we came away with a haul. But crap, I like,
I'm not fully awake today, so I'm kind of losing
my train of thought.
Speaker 1 (01:01:26):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
But yeah, like you know, it's it's it's oh, that's
what I was going to say. These mock simulators. God,
they friggin annoy me because I will like I'll say, Okay,
I want to trade back, so I offer a trade
and it's like, okay, I'll give you you know, our
number seven, uh, you know, our fourth rounder and a
(01:01:52):
sixth rounder and like, no, not enough. And I'm like, oh, geez, okay,
I'll give you seven and a third rounder and a
fifth rounder.
Speaker 13 (01:02:02):
No not enough.
Speaker 6 (01:02:04):
And I'm like.
Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
And so I just don't do the trade because they're
trying to, you know, hold me over a barrel. And
then my next pick they'll send me a trade. And
it's like, okay, for number two or I mean number
forty two, Cleveland is offering you seventh this year and
a sixth next year. And it's like, you know, like
some scrap pick and a bunch of future picks, and
(01:02:28):
it's like, what the hell they I wasn't offering enough,
but they think this is good enough to send me.
Speaker 8 (01:02:35):
But like it's it's very strange the way they do that.
Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
Like you make good offers and the thing just tells
you not enough, not enough, not enough, And then every
time you're up to pick, they send you some complete
garbage offer that that somehow is okay, Like why are
they allowed to send me crap?
Speaker 8 (01:02:55):
That's wasting my time? But I can't do it to them,
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Good point. It's a good point on these mock draft
simulators now.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
And the other thing is too is when you look
at the mock draft simulators. Like it took me a
while to figure this out. It's like, okay, well I
took this guy, they've got him ranked, Like, say, I
took this guy at forty two overall, he's ranked twenty
second on their rankings.
Speaker 8 (01:03:19):
But then they give me a B minus for the pick.
What's up with that?
Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
But it's not where they have that guy ranked or
where he's ranked amongst his position. It's where he's ranked
as far as overall players that are left. So if
they've got guys that are ranked higher at you know,
defensive tackle or tight end or whatever. You know, if
(01:03:45):
you take Nicki min Warre, who would be a good pick,
you know, it doesn't matter because their number nineteen, number twenty,
number twenty five player are still on the board and
you took you know, the number.
Speaker 1 (01:03:59):
Twenty judge harshly for it. That's right, that's right.
Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
Yeah, So it's it's you know what, if I got
to be honest, I think the mock drafting system could
use a little bit of tweaking, uh in that regard.
I mean, it's good, it's good, and it's gotten better,
and as time goes on, it has gotten better. But
I still think, you know, the grades that they give out,
(01:04:26):
I think should have to do with more with positional value,
team needs, etceter as opposed to just overall who's on
the board, because you know what, if there's a bunch
of really highly rated guys on the board that you
don't take because they're not in a position that you need,
like like, you shouldn't be penalized for that.
Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
You shouldn't be And I appreciate the call. Ricky the
same thing.
Speaker 13 (01:04:49):
N C.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
Green says that the PFF mock simulator is Trevor Sikima's ratings.
That's true if you do fantasy football drafts. I do
that of course every fall, right. I use Yahoo fish Football.
That's always been my favorite app of choice to use.
But if I take a player they don't like at
a certain round, they're like, ah, what an idiot? And
then I'm like, ah, geez. But it's really based off
(01:05:10):
their rankings. So take that with a grain of salt
if you can. All right, let's go back to the
phone lines. Here. We got mister legendary famous Fulton Moras
here on the show.
Speaker 13 (01:05:21):
Hello this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Who's this dog here?
Speaker 9 (01:05:24):
Who is this?
Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
This is Luna o Luna.
Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
My daughter's name is Rya Luna. Okay, great day, Hey Luna.
Speaker 9 (01:05:32):
Yeah, so I'm getting away from my coach hall of
fend this Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Oh congratulations, And I love the shade. You get a
lot of swag going on.
Speaker 9 (01:05:40):
Yeah. Yeah, that's why I'm famous, Paul, And that's why
I'm famous.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
It makes sense. Well, thank you for not forgetting about
us little people. I appreciate that as you're getting big,
legendary and famous and whatnot. Mister Fulton, I'm glad you'sed
to have time to call onto the show.
Speaker 9 (01:05:55):
Yeah. So, do we have any So I was thinking.
Speaker 8 (01:06:04):
That we have the coaches.
Speaker 9 (01:06:07):
Draft picks coming up pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
Fourteenth overall.
Speaker 9 (01:06:10):
Yeah, right, So do you think we might get another quarterback,
another running back or something like that?
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Yeah? I would say. I was a big fan of
Anthony richardson the talent, but I between me, you and
the four Walls, I think he's getting beat out by
Daniel Jones for the quarterback competition there and at fourteen,
I think the Colts are taking the best tight end
on the board. They're doing a rain dance open Tyler Warner,
Colston Lovelin is there at fourteen. If they are great.
If they're not, maybe it's an offensive lineman pick for Indy.
Speaker 8 (01:06:47):
Okay, well, thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
Well, thank you, mister legendary famous, mister Fulton, thank you
for gracing us with your presence. Let's go to a
guy equally as famous as far as I know, Johnny
Boy here on the Program's up, Johnny.
Speaker 6 (01:07:00):
J Good morning, brother, holding up, man.
Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Hey god bless man, first and foremost like the glasses
good good black frame there, very bold, very pronounced, quite nice.
Speaker 12 (01:07:09):
You gotta I gotta use it for my my computer.
Man look at it for so much and mess it up.
But yeah, the jamis the Jamison Williams.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
Yeah, JMO, baby, huh you want it to too.
Speaker 12 (01:07:25):
If we were in a position for me to be
like we're a wide receiver away, yeah, I would be
all about.
Speaker 6 (01:07:34):
It, you know, but I can't.
Speaker 12 (01:07:37):
I mean kind of like what Ricky was talking about
in regards of the contracts and all that.
Speaker 6 (01:07:41):
What's his contract right now?
Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
Like he has yeah, so for this year he's doe
like five million base hour for this year. So this
year's nothing, no money, and then the fifth year option
the Jets, Lions or any team that controls his rights
before May first can exercise a fifth year option. That's
another fifteen million. So basically over the next next two
years he's owed twenty one million in change and that
(01:08:03):
so it's chump change relatively speaking in my eyes for
who Jabo is. And then obviously he's after it, so
what would it be twenty twenty seven, he'd be a
free agent, so you have to make a decision then.
But yeah, he's got two years of relatively cheap control,
definitely cheap this year, and then it's a little bit
more expensive next year.
Speaker 12 (01:08:23):
Well, I was bugged out, so I didn't know that
piece of it. I mean, then that's a conversation to
be talked about.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Oh here we get it.
Speaker 6 (01:08:31):
Pairing them up with Garrett Wilson. I mean I could
see the upside in regards to that. Aaron Glenn knows
him very well.
Speaker 12 (01:08:38):
Yeah, right, so there you go with that, and then
the Justin Field's relationship it's already been held there as well. Sure,
and giving more weapons to him, yeah, I mean a
forty second, I think I would do it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
There you go, Johnny, Welcome to the club baby.
Speaker 12 (01:08:56):
That contract and that's crazy though, man, if that was
to happen.
Speaker 6 (01:09:01):
I don't think it's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
It's weird. I this came out of nowhere. Like I said,
it all came from Albert Brewer Ripster, who said people
in league circles believe that James and Williams could be moved.
And it's basically the contract thing. Lions have to pay
everybody eventually, so it's not the money that's remaining now,
it's that, oh boy, we're eventually going to have to
pay him, and they're like, oh, we got a lot
of other guys to pay, and maybe that will result
in them trading him. I'm like, sign me up, I'd taken. Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:09:24):
So, how excited are you for all the mock drafts
that be finally finished, the draft talks coming to an end?
Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
Yeah yeah. I mean like Ricky said, like he's done
with he's done with mock drafts and drafts, and then
talks more mock drafts and drafts. So I don't think
he's really as done as he says he is. But
now I love I know some people say Jesus, we're
waiting forever for the draft and all this other stuff.
To me, I don't mind the weight. I like that
we get to have all these great conversations because there's
(01:09:54):
always in May the middle of a second week of May,
after we get through draft, draft grade and stuff, boom,
this schedule release and we're talking about that. So there's
enough tent pole events and I'm totally fine with the
draft having as much time as possible. I dropped my
final bock with Woody at three o'clock, so that's gonna
be fun. So it will be good though, to eventually
get to the draft and picks are being maybe, were like,
(01:10:14):
holy shit, this isn't a simulation anymore. We're out of
the robot machine. There are real picks happening here. There
will be something pretty cool about that for sure.
Speaker 12 (01:10:23):
Oh hell, I can't wait. Man, Hey, did you see
the video that's my won't put out? I know what
so on Jets Worldwide YouTube channel. Yeah, YouTube challenge. You
put a video out all right of Memble one plate
with a dog Street, Tyler Warren, dog Street. Yeah, and
(01:10:44):
who's the third one man Memble, Tyler, Warren and McMillan.
Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
It was oh, Ted McMillan, okay.
Speaker 12 (01:10:51):
And then it ended up the dog his dog Bruce
picks which one and he's smelling all three of them.
Speaker 6 (01:10:57):
He ends up going memble. So with that being said,
up remember is going to be the official Okay, hey,
what easy? He said?
Speaker 12 (01:11:04):
The one position of need that hasn't been talked about
that nobody's be talking dude, it's kicker, bro, kicker, It's
it's a must.
Speaker 6 (01:11:13):
I mean, at seven, what do you just.
Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
Get it out of the way one hundred percent, let's
just uh, let's punt on other positions, wink, and let's
get kicker. I like it, Okay.
Speaker 12 (01:11:23):
I don't think there's anybody out there saying that. I
honestly not ye. At this point, I would probably suggest
as even trading up and getting a kicker. I mean,
it's that important of a need, you know. But for Green,
I wanted to get your thoughts in regards to that,
you know, kicker from FSU.
Speaker 6 (01:11:41):
Maybe I don't know, question Mark.
Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
Okay, there you get what. Johnny appreciate the call. I'm
sure Ricky New York would advocate for that. As a
Florida state guy, that's one to stop that getting enough
love kicker. Heps Helps talked about it. So heps are
resident kicker expert on the show. He's been saying, hey, man,
gotta lock in that kicker kick gicker, good, come into play.
(01:12:03):
We have over five hundred people in the room. Like
the video, hit subscribe, Let's take one last call before
we sign off and again we'll be back live again
at three o'clock here on the program. Let's go to
MJ on the show. What's up, MJ? Welcome back, dope,
I guess not welcome back? And then goodbye?
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Ah?
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
You know hey, the hellos and goodbyes they come and
go so quickly. Well there you go. Any who, Well,
I guess that ends the show. Sorry, MJ, or whatever
