My only one of my ears is working. Danny You

Speaker 6 (00:33):
All right, yeah, we're under control. Good to have you
all here with us on a Thursday night. Hopefully everybody
is enjoying their week and looking forward to the return
of the Biggie this Saturday, which is very, very exciting.
It almost feels like a group one weekend with the
return of the Biggie. There's so many good horses coming
out and we're ready to get stuck into it. So
thank you very much for joining us. We want to
(00:56):
get your comments in as well as usual. Let us
know what your best better is for this weekend. We
will be getting to them at one point and the
show we're four from four with the best bet from
the punters out there, not not us, but the whoever
win's one hundred dollars. Bet we're four from four with
Luke and it was yeah, first one and eight weeks
for you, mate, wouldn't it?
Speaker 7 (01:15):
Aaron volves? Yeah, it goes all right. Yeah, he talks
a big game, but good to get one home for
the big guy. Av Well done.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Absolutely. It's quite hard to get used to this new
city on this new set up, isn't it.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
We're looking at ourselves on TV here.
Speaker 6 (01:28):
Yeah, Luke your pestmate, so you must be feeling in
a big after Yeah, yeah, I'll bounce back.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
I'll be right, Yeah you do. You're doing bloody well,
thanks mate? Good man, Dan, how are you you, mate?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
I'm good, ready to rip into it?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Good, good, good.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
It's good to have you back though, Luke, you've been
away for the last podcast that we had. You're over
in America the conference.
Speaker 7 (01:45):
I was at mary Lago and I leave the joint.
A week later they're trying to kill the fucking former president.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah true story. Yeah, this was just this week, wasn't it.
Speaker 7 (01:54):
Yeah, So we went to Marra Lago I think is
the pronunciation in a cab and the cab driver is like, well,
there's his secret service here, all the stuff you can
tell the president will form A president is not here
because the Secret Service aren't here. Drops us at this
bar and we have a few beers there. Some American
guy turns up starts telling us about how he's trying
to go and see the president because he's got some
(02:16):
information that's going to help him win the election. The
Chinese frequencies are going to help him, oh sorry, stopping
him from winning the election, all the sort of shit.
A week later, someone tries to shoot him again. And
look up on the screen and basically where they are
filming from is the bar that we were at, sitting
there listening to old mate, and I didn't have to wonder,
(02:37):
holy shit, I wonder if it's that same guy, But you.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Got to just say that was the old mate I
was talking to.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
I hope I did. I looked at the photo.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
I was like, I wonder, but it wasn't. Yeah, but
crazy like the country is just yeah. But you get
over there and it's not the only thing that they're
all talking about, but there's definitely a tension amongst that
country of what's going to happen next.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
You have a good time, though, you managed to think
some beers and and enjoy yourself.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Yeah, yeah, really good. Yeah, it was good to get
over there.
Speaker 7 (03:03):
I had to get up late in the night to
be able to watch the racing back here.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
Shout out the spark thirty bucks for every.
Speaker 7 (03:10):
Two gigs of data to be able to then roam
so that you could watch the racing at the.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Hawks Bay Carnival. Is that good value? Not really that
city bucks or two gigs.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
You know, that's three hundred bucks to watch one race.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
We saw what's in?
Speaker 7 (03:26):
What's in when I set my alarm to get up
and watch the races, but I sit for like an am,
not a PM or something and absolutely cooked it. And
then basically woke up and I'm like, how am I
not a week? I feel like the group one's been
And so I'm on the Love Racing site trying to
find without looking at the replay, and I could see
it wasn't for Chitty.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
I'm like, holy shit, who's been CRASHITTI?
Speaker 7 (03:47):
And yeah, managed to get the replay up and then
grail so he get the job done, which I'm sure
we'll get to.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
Absolutely, that was That was very very good. And mate,
you've settled yourself back and you did well. You made
it to the Best of BGP last Friday morning. You've
had a little a Thursday morning, you've had a little
bit of a break, You've now had a long lunch
at Oyster and Shop, which is a fantastic establishment. You're
ready to go for the podcast, and we are all
very excited about the big e being back.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Dan.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
We were there this morning obviously filming the Best of
BGP and the harness the Friday night fill up and yeah,
it's really starting to happen this weekend, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah, mate, Yeah, I'm very excited. The gear and report.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
They went in depth about the track and you know,
I mean, I know nothing about agriculture, but it sounds
like the horses are getting their toe in a little
bit more and the matting is now gone. So I'm
really excited to see the track back a little bit softer.
The horses are maybe not going to spring off the
front as much as they did last season, so hopefully
maybe we'll see a little bit of a fairer racetrack.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
I think, yeah, we'll find out this weekend days. It's yeah,
we'll be interesting to see. And it's been a tough
road back.
Speaker 7 (04:47):
Luke, Yeah, I hope that it all goes to plan
for the big Ee and p Dub and everyone involved there.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
It's Elsie because I've.
Speaker 7 (04:55):
Put a lot of work into getting that track to
what they wanted to be and I'm sure that they will.
They will make it happen and they can shake off
a couple of the issues that they've had and then
we can get back to racing it.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
The premiere track that is Elleslie in New Zealand.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
Absolutely, it's what everybody wants to see. Can't wait for
it on Saturday. We're going to be there in a
few weeks time as well. With the Evers. We've got
the King of the Punt tickets alive. I think we're
get We've got the promotions out there going, We've we've
got some people involved already, but we do need to
find the King of.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
The Punt out there, whoever it may be.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
Make sure if you do want to get involved, you
get you get your tickets down. We can people find
information for this.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yeah, with the events on Facebook. The tickets are all
over social media as well. So maybe we'll do it
in a few parts. I'll talk about the tickets and
then maybe Kimmis you can talk about the competition. So
the tickets to get in a fifty five dollars that
includes a meal and a bear on the day as well,
and I think we're going up into maybe the second
floor of.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Whatever the main standards there.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, yep, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's prime viewing. And then
so you've got access right to the grandstand outside so
you can see we're like right the track, really good viewing. Yeah,
but fifty five bucks I think is super value. I
think the whole idea of it is trying to make
the access in those tickets as cheap as we can,
to get as many people to come along as possible.
And then of course the entry into the King of
(06:20):
the Pump is separate.
Speaker 7 (06:22):
Yeah, so you did a good job throughout the week
of telling people how to enter, and I think there's
been a little bit of confusion as to the fact
that you have to enter on your own, but you
can actually into as a team, but you have to
have a ticket to get into the room. So that's
your fifty five dollars, and then once you're in the room,
you can actually be part of a team, so there
could be four of you splitting your one hundred dollars
(06:44):
starting entry, so you could put in twenty five dollars
each or thirty.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
Three dollars each if it was US three.
Speaker 7 (06:49):
But as long as you've got a ticket, then basically
you start with your team, so you start of one
hundred dollars and you've got to turn it into the most.
So the person who turns it or the group that
turns it into the most will be the king of
the part.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
We did this back in twenty nineteen.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
And it worked really well, and the winner will get
two thousand dollars cash from BGP, two thousand dollars bonus
cash from the TB, a charter to Wayhiki, the Chathams
to Shewart Island wherever you would like to go in
a boat Curtesy of the Wish for Fish Foundation, and
a BEG paid number plate for your car, but you
(07:24):
won't be driving home.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
And that's just the start of the prizes.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
But basically you can also go bust earlier in the
day and lose your one hundred dollars, but you can
buy back in so it's not just like a one
and done. Once you're in the room, you're in the room,
but once you leave the room, you can't come back in,
so once you leave, you're basically out of the comp
but you can lose your hundred bucks and start again.
(07:48):
There are some rules around minimum turnover by the time
we get to certain amounts of time and whatnot.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
But the final and penultimate.
Speaker 7 (07:54):
Race will be you've got to make yourself to base
camp with some rules before we then try and scale
the Everest towards the end, and the person who has
the most money at the end of it will be
the King of the punt.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
Yeah, and the punting's going from Race one Ellerslie all
the way through to the Everest Stay where it closes off,
and you can bid on any race throughout that whole
period of time from Race one Ellerslie to the Everest.
Speaker 7 (08:15):
Yeah on and of course, so you can watch the racing, Elsie,
but you can also you know, bit off of course
as well if you're having a crack in Australian.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Okay, sounds bloody good. Who's your King of the punt, Dan,
who's the best punter? You know?
Speaker 2 (08:30):
I don't huh, actually probably did ted?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yeah, the most consistent tips or I know, so if
he punts the way that he tips in and he's
probably he's probably yet.
Speaker 7 (08:41):
Yeah, what about you, Lo, I'm hoping that the butcher
turns up double meat, all the meat.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Yeah, Zack Butcher, Zack Butcher.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
Yeah, good punter apparently really Yeah, Peter Leach, the mad Butcher.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Great, he might be involved.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
Yeah, I love big sausage. What about you come.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Out of a timent?
Speaker 6 (09:01):
Well, actually, my stats show that you're my You're the
best punter that I know actually, from the stats that
I followed last year, Luke, so oh really yeah yeah, yeah,
I'm not trying to.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Kiss your us or anything, but that's true. Yeah, yeah,
it's the spreadsheet.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Spreadsheet this week this year is on top of the
game this year.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
So do you come take me on? Are you entering
fucking Earth?
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Are you going to wear a crown or any hitters?
You cruise?
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Certainly? Certainly not.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
I'll bring the smoke machine and some music and you
can walk in with a cave.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Yeah, the crowd.
Speaker 7 (09:27):
I think last time in twenty nineteen, I was gone
by about four pm.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Fuck. Yeah, you get carried away with that topic.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Good.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
Yeah, and Cup Week is also live. We've got tickets
selling for Cup. We we're going to be down there
for the dogs on the Thursday and the trucks absolutely
can't wait for PEPs.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Puppies are going to be outstands.
Speaker 7 (09:45):
Dan.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Where do we get tickets from?
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Well so, yeah, the pup's on Thursday. It's one hundred
and seventy dollars. It's all inclusive. You get all your
drinks and all your food.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Do you tease that? On Jesus, you'll put me off here?
Speaker 7 (10:02):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Well?
Speaker 5 (10:03):
A cups and pups? Yeah, it's in the app mate,
if you will get along to the pumps.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
What about the.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Tickets for the for the dogs you have to email
Sarah at christ Shach.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Dot coated in z.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Our area is called the kennel If you want to
come be a l Yes.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
One hundred and seventy bucks is all you have, all
your food and all your drinks included. Emails Sarah at
christ each Greyhounds, dot coated and z We're gonna have
a private BGP area but also by one hundred and
seventy bucks.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
All you can drink, all you.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Can eat as well. It's going to be a good
time Friday. The harness really exciting. We've got a little
grass patch right in front of the winning post that
is one hundred and fifteen dollars that include your meal
and four beers.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Common guys, be professional.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
For four bears, four bears and your meal at the
Harness on Friday, one hundred and fifteen dollars.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
You can get the tickets.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I think the ticket link is available on Facebook, It's
on all of our social media.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
It's in the Appeah, in the app, it's everywhere.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Yeah, well done.
Speaker 7 (11:05):
You can find it in the app. You can find
the dog event or the harness event. We will be
running a punter's club as well, but if you would
like to come to both, then help yourself or just
one of the nights and we'd love to see you
there the kennel, yeah, the kettle or the cage.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I think we're also going to be given away maybe
some tickets and stuff over the coming weeks as well
with HR and Z two a couple of different things,
so watch out for that. So if you buy tickets,
I think to to the Friday between now and you
know a certain day will determine that. But we're giving
away two tickets to the Tuesday as well for free.
Speaker 7 (11:39):
And apparently on the Thursday night there's going to be
a slot race at the Dogs, which hasn't been a year.
It's going to be Tim Vogel versus Blake ut. Blake's
going to be in the one box and Tim Mogan
is going to be in the eight box, going to
be rugged up, and it's going to be a hid
to head from three five meters.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Three, going to ask the distance and they are they
promotional bits because then might not be able to get on.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
We'll about to find out and leading we've soft launched
the Kardaka Millions.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
It's all happening. Gee whiz, I can't believe it's five
months away, but we still don't it.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
We're ready to go.
Speaker 7 (12:10):
One hundred tickets gone already, one hundred yeah, out of
eight fifty.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Yes, unreally.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
So we sent out an email to all of those
people who came to the twenty twenty four Kadaka Millions
on Saturday, right smack bang in the middle of the
days as New Plymouth has been canceled for the thirty
eighth time and it's thirty ninth year, and we had
one hundred people buy a ticket within basically twenty four hours,
so that event will sell out. But those people have
(12:38):
had first access to those tickets. If you came last
year and didn't get that email, let us know and
we can fire it over to you because we will
start to launch that a little bit wider and invite
people wider than those that came last year well this year.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
So I'm sure with Alsie returning this Saturday as well,
people will start getting pretty excited about it, especially if
you're on course. It'll be yeah, you'll start ford to
having a big crowd back there and things, So no
doubt those tickets are going to go quickly.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
You will hear more about that. Those are the events
coming up.
Speaker 6 (13:06):
Let's get into some racing, not for this weekend, but
since we have been here two weeks ago, we've had
Day one of the Hawk's Bay Carnival, and gee, what
a day that was. The sun was shining, the track
was fast. Luke was up in the middle of the
night watching it. It was outstanding racing for everyone involved,
and there were some amazing performances.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Actually the Colin Meads.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Stakes Poetic Champion took it out.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
Everyone was on move to strike super Photon and the like,
but Poetic Champion jumped from box not box whistle talking
about the Grayhouds there box jumps from barrier one and
just cleans them up.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
What a performance.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Yeah, it was really good and Savagely was really good
as well. From the back. Yes, yeah, it looked like
they look like a.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Couple of really nice sprinters moving forward. It's gonna be
interesting to see how they go stepping up to the
forteen hundred, up to the sixteen hundred. But Poetic champions
a beautiful looking horse, Like he's just something about his
color and you know the different spots and different colors
that he has on him. He just looks like a
nice horse. He's got a really good action. I think
he's going to be a good sprinter moving forward.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:10):
Some of the feedback I heard afterwards was that sixteen
hundred meters is going to be a real stretch. But gee,
if it runs like that over twelve hundred meters, yeah,
you just keep it going there. I moved to strike disappointing.
I think we've all got a futures bit on it.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Yeah, what have you done? What it drifted out? We
put more on multi man.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
No, no, no, no, I'm I'm pot committed at the
moment on move to strike, But I don't know. I
just on the face of it was quite disappointing. I
think they said they were a little bit disappointed and
they came away from it. But when I went back
and looked, he just looked like a horse maybe that
needed a little bit more distant.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
So I'm not riding him off yet. I think we'll
see in the Hawks Bay.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Oh what's yeah, the Hawks Bay Guineas is the next one, right,
fourteen hundred, so I think we'll know a little bit
more when they get up to fourteen hundred.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
How he's going.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I'm hoping that, like he's been known to throw, and
the odd terrible race and then he can come out
and do what he did.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Was it at Wellington? It blew over the top of them.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Was it the manter or two size produce or whatever?
Speaker 6 (15:10):
Yeah, yeah, I think that was it at the end
of the campaign. It could be the same for super
Photon as well. You probably wouldn't want to throw that
one away. But yeah, that was a hell of a race.
And then Dan, when we were talking on the podcast,
we were talking about Alabama Last being far too short
and wondering what was going on. Vilocius was paying six fifty.
There were some other horses there paying good money, and
we were wondering where we were missing something, and we
(15:31):
were definitely missing something.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Because Sleepy here put them to bed. Yeah, she just
smashed them at Yeah, she's good. Like obviously Felocious is
having issues. She's gone away for an operation. She's gone
out in the paddock and get to come back and
hopefully we see her come back to her best, because
that'd be good for the Marsch table to see her back.
She was such a great two year old. But yeah,
(15:53):
sometimes it just happens. So I thought Captured by Love
was really good. And I think that's another one where
we go that's interesting. Let's see how they go up
to sixteen hundred. Sometimes the three year olds can get
away with it up to sixteen hundred just on rurability
and just because they're better than the other ones. But
Captured by Love is a big, strong horse and looks
like she's gonna eat up the sixteen hundred.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
Absolutely, those two fields at Ricoton are definitely taking shape,
and the odds are definitely taking shape as well. I
see Damask Roses coming in and some of those two.
That horse has been bloody good and the Tarzino on
day one look, you were talking about that right at
the start. None of us tipped down grail Seeker, No.
Speaker 7 (16:34):
No, no, I think we're both just looking at each other.
Damask Rose is now out?
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Is that right?
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Oh? Really I missed that.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
Futures bit's gone.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Geez, you still get your.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
Fifty bucks back there, don't It doesn't mean fifty divided
by yeah, yeah, right yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:50):
I think just before we get into the Tarzino, those
horses like Move to Strike and super Photon, I think
it's easy to get caught into the hype of odd
good horse they should win every race and then just
sort of assume that, oh shit, you know what's going
on there. But I definitely wouldn't be dropping either of those.
Definitely keen to see how they go in the Hawks
(17:11):
Bay Guineas. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them,
you know, knock.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
It out and do win it.
Speaker 7 (17:17):
I hope for your sake that it's Moved to Strike
and then goes on to those two thousand guineas. But
when Opie says to you, like this is the horse
stick with and it puts in a run like that,
you just as a pun to have to go.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
Okay, you know what, like write it off, can't.
Speaker 7 (17:30):
Get that cash back, but I must stick with Yeah anyway,
Tarzino grail Seek a huge win. There's been like a
little bit of spruit from the stable around how good
this horse is. I think we talked about it last
season and yeah, really really really good win actually like
really put them away. CRASHITTI crashitty tough, like very tough
(17:52):
for the punt as. It was all that anyone wanted
to talk about two bucks. I think what did it start.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
At about that two ten?
Speaker 7 (17:58):
I think, yeah, so I think punters have had a
bit of a blood nose, you know, going into the
spring carnival, and it's gonna be interesting to see, you
know what what happens for that horse. And I don't know,
have you guys read like was there an issue or
something or no?
Speaker 1 (18:14):
I think they just put him put them away now, Yeah,
he's gonna he's gonna have a spell and and came back,
came back in the new year here.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
I think they just said, look, he's obviously done. He
did he'd like he he ran that first sort of
like six hundred really quick, like really aggressive. He actually
looked like he was going to kick on the corner
and I thought, oh wow, he's just gonna beat them
up here, and that would have been something. But yeah,
just maybe like he maybe just needs a little bit
more time, you know, like lots lots happens when these
(18:43):
horses go from three to four. Look, we've seen you know,
sharp and smart, one of the best go that were
you know, they were sitting as a three year old
more recently go from that to four year old to
having a bit of an average season. I think they're
doing the best thing by it by just saying, let's
put it aside, give it time and bring it, bring
it back. And that first run at ryal carkra on
a heavy track, although in that trial at Taalpa didn't
(19:05):
look like it maybe had done a lot to it
may have you know, found the bottom of them too soon,
and so they're probably making a smart decision by just
putting them out.
Speaker 7 (19:14):
I think that's one of those races where if you're
a punter of Crasheti, for instance, and you do your
ass and you look at this horse grail Seeker, like
how did grail Seeker win? That you have to let
the ego go and go, you know what, this horse
is probably a serious animal, and I think we've seen
it with horses like Keep the Peace, for instance, going
back a number of years at Hawks Bay. To win
(19:35):
this race, they normally go like that, you have to
be a very good horse to win, especially beating a
horse that the whole market is basically like fifty percent
of the market's like, right, let's ever go here.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
So I think grail Seeker could be above ordinary.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
I thought I read somewhere, and I might be mistaken here,
but I thought I read somewhere that maybe considering the
Golden Eagle for grail Seeker, oh we can get behind that, I.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Would have thought.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
So, I mean it's yeah, really impress It makes sense
when you bowling around at the All BLACKX Game or
something and someone told you to back this one for Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
I did see a little couple of people from the
O'Sullivan stable. I was like, hey, who were back in
the season? Why we back?
Speaker 7 (20:12):
And I woke up the next morning I was like, shit,
was it dragon Ly? I think I could just hear
Dan in my back year. Surely not dragon Leave. I
was like, well, they're saying Grayil. So I actually had
a little something on I had, Yeah, a little each way.
So I woke up over there in two Yeah, I
made I had twenty ones. I paid twenty six on
the day. The future is twenty ones.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
Yeah, good work mate. That is sharp punting. It is
putty interesting. It turned out to me it is buddy tough.
At this time of the year, the spring we always
talk about like by the time you get to the
liver Mole, the fields of completely changed complexion.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
There's all these superstar.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
Three year olds that by the time they've come around
to the spring, there they they've they've done so much
as a three year old, they're sort of not up
to it for a certain period of time. And we're
kind of seeing that again unfortunately. So hopefully all those
horses are okay, and hopefully they do come because we
do love watching them, we do love punting on them.
So yeah, good luck to all the trainers and connections
of those horses that are having to have a little
(21:06):
spell mate Luke last on that day as well, the
blessed bet. We've been going absolutely great guns with the
blease sped up until last weekend unfortunately, but we were
three in a row off the back of your form
and which the end got the job done again to
round out Hawk's Bay on day one.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
Yeah again.
Speaker 7 (21:23):
I slipped through that whilst in the United States from America.
So I was on the Love Racing site trying to
click through to the last race, and I could see
there was like four messages on Messenger, and I'm like, oh,
here we go. Maybe that's a sign that it's one
or what's happened in the group one And I was
trying not to look at anything, and yeah, basically I
hit play on the race and then I was like, oh,
(21:45):
fuck this, I'm going to speed it up and watch
it and like hit fast fifteen. But I hit the
middle of the screen and the Tony Pike colors were
around the bout. I'm like, ah, yeah, yeah, surely it's
wits end. And see you paid like three dollars, but
we got five dollars fifty.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Unbelievable, great odds, great eyes.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
That was outrageous.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Overs a five dollars fifty Tam.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
We're going to get to it as well tonight with
the best bit. But the tab are giving us some
good odds on these blessed bits and harness halos, aren't they.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
They they're really dishing out.
Speaker 7 (22:13):
It's a long season. Mat it's a long, long season.
I think they know that it's a marathon.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Apparently.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah, they're letting everyone on now as well, on to
the Blessed Bet and the Harness Halo.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
Everyone.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Everyone's all, Oh.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
We can get to that, can't we. Jeezs had some
fan mail.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
There's been some good tips over the last few weeks
as well.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Promised Land for Ted got home that day, the Harness
Halo Princess Sadie last weekend for the Scamman Gaso's been
on as well. New Plymouth unfortunately was abandoned last Saturday afternoon,
so Ted and the goats didn't go around. But Ted's
is going around on Sunday, and the Road to Jerige,
Irrigae and Yours two.
Speaker 7 (22:44):
Dead Yes, irrogate Le's go around and Harmonious, which is
actually half the JBG, which I'm sure we'll touch on
later on. But Harmonious was a blessed bet. A couple
of weeks ago. We went top three to play it
safe because we thought all this was could get beat,
and it actually looked like it was gonna win it
then held on for second. But it's a half to
(23:05):
a good horse called JBG. So Yeah, we've been. We're
in and around and I think you might have mentioned
on the Monday wrap up where sometimes when we're tipping them, yep,
we might get beat, but put them in the black
Book because the next week the week after, So yeah,
unfortunate we didn't get to see Harmonious go around on
the weekend on that bottleless track at ah New Plymouth,
(23:26):
but we get to see Irrigate go round.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
On Sunday Waverley.
Speaker 6 (23:29):
I don't know if the odds were out yet today,
but yeah, Ted's really still keen on it.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
There was a perfect example of that.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
I thought it was.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
I think it's called Brandoh, I think it the Harvest. Yeah,
I think Markham or someone tipped it a few weeks
ago and it didn't win, but it won last Friday
and one quite impressively and for a good price as well.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Yeah, we'll get to Joel, but he's he's producing tonight
and he's putting some of these in the Black Book
that we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I think.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
So that's good stuff.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Talking about black Book. Sorry, mate, Joshua Brown. That won
the You Tap last weekly. That was a that was
a very impressive want to finish shovel down and Joshua
Brown hell of a finish.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
A Yeah, I didn't think it was going to win
at the corner.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
But I didn't see it. I was at church, like
I said on the Best of BGP.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Yeah you did, you did.
Speaker 6 (24:10):
And you've got to give credit to the Goat and
and Ted there as well, because I think the Goat
two weeks ago put it out as his black book runner.
He just didn't quite get in quick enough. I think
he was out for dinner last Wednesday, out or something,
so I thought, fuck it, I'm on Joshua Brown.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
It's the best bet.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
I think the Goat's off the mark this season.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
Is he neither of My battle last year around Ricketton
though was yeah, yeah, it's going to happen.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
So you've got to stick with the Goat.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
You absolutely know he is going to win you plenty
when he does when he does find them, so stick
with him.
Speaker 7 (24:40):
They call him guy folks because the November when he
goes off, you can't fuck you stop him.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Absolutely fantastic, Lucas. Good to have you back right.
Speaker 6 (24:49):
Hopefully you're still with us out there people get your
best bet comments coming and we want to know who
you are betting on this weekend.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
We've got one hundred dollars to give out.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
Like we said at the top of the show, we
are four from four this season so far for those
people that we've given one hundred dollars out to, So
make sure you get your best bets in.
Speaker 5 (25:05):
We can suck it up.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Absolutely, don't fuck it up.
Speaker 6 (25:08):
We're going to run through some of the races at
Allesley this weekend because gee wiz, there are some good
horses going around at Allesley, so there's plenty to get
stuck into there, and then we will come to the
best bets from the community. Straight after that, Joel's going
to step in and let us know what's going on.
So let's get cracking with Allesley Race two. We've only
got some open handicaps and rating seventy fives there at Allesley,
(25:29):
but that doesn't matter because the quality of the horses
is very, very good. Ellesi Race two is an open
handicap over twenty one one hundred meters and old mate
Nearaeus is paying two dollars and five cents. We might
have a boosted out to two fifty, which is fantastic.
But there's some classics and they're like, oh, carn hunters
running around, nest eggs running around. So it's a good
race loop.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
It is certainly is.
Speaker 7 (25:51):
And you've you've had your best bet, right, Yeah, we'll
be yeah, sorry, we're supposed to blessed bet anyway, Yeah,
blessed bet yep. Two dollars fifty yep. There's no money
for this horse yet, which I'm surprised about it. I
thought the punters might be going shopping early.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
Well, it opened it, but two weeks ago I'd opened
at four fifty and closed at like one sixty or something.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
It was not disgusting. Yeah, yeah, the punters got hurt.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
It would have been so good if it won. What
would it be paying in this if it won like
a dollar sixty?
Speaker 6 (26:22):
Yeah, you'd think it will come into under two dollars,
wouldn't you. I mean, it's it's the horse that sort
of looks like looks ready to win in this race,
doesn't it.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Yeah? Mate, I like this.
Speaker 7 (26:31):
I you know, I think we're going to end up
racing on some sort of good ish track, depending on
what ends it. You know what excuse me how they're
bouncing off this track? But you know, we just have
to forgive last art maybe a little bit undone, but
Matt cart right Burier number one.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
I know that you like it.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
But Good Track goes right and at the distance three
from three in the top two. So two dollars fifty
just seems like great money outside of a a it's
an okay ish field, but this is the standout horse
of this race. So you're trying to look at who
could beat it and maybe fly my way at five bucks,
(27:13):
and that's about it. Like, I can't really pick anything
else to get past us, So I'm probably gonna be
playing the Quinelli comes Saturday, but I'm definitely on the please.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
Bit nice Well Nesting is a good horse, but might
not be said for this race. Dan, what do you
think that?
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I pretty much come to the same conclusion, Like I
looked through all these other horses and tried to find
an excuse and a reason why the Rays can be beat.
I think stepping up to the twenty one hundred, here
Good Track Allelee, it's had three starts for two wins
and a second.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
I just I don't know. I can't see it be beat,
but say it.
Speaker 6 (27:47):
My dad will kill me if I don't mention this horse.
And it's one that you like to Can't Hunter. He
loves Can't Hunter and I know you do too, Dan,
but I had to look through it and it's been
it's been running basically every race since February twenty twenty two.
Is please amazing and just six and on a good track.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
Yeah, that's the issue.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
And it's also carrying sixty kg's and it's generally been
sitting around that fifty four to fifty five kg mark,
so it might be a little bit tough on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Yeah, it's got a claim so it's fifty eight, but yeah,
I just allesley, it's two and zero good tracks at
six and oh.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
The only other one I saw was Dodgy one.
Speaker 6 (28:22):
This horse has been over in Australia and I'm not
sure if you saw it on Day one or hawks Bath.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
I think it was in the Promised land Race. It's
a big gray.
Speaker 6 (28:30):
It was just running into horse ars the whole way
down the straight and couldn't get anywhere. Looked like it
really really wanted to So paying twelve dollars, you know,
perhaps it's a top four ben in this race. I
don't know, but if you check the replay out you
might see what I'm talking about it was very very
very unlucky. So yeah, who knows what this horse is
all about, but it could could run a top four.
(28:51):
Let's see, hopefully in a raise can get the job
done right Allesley Race five. I know this is a
race that everybody is very very keen on here sitting
in the big export gold bag art and studio because Jesus,
there's some good horses leap.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
Yeah, this is a hell of a race. Now Luberon
has drawn out in Barrier ten. This is a horse
that was favorite on Kadaka Millions night. Now I believe
that it had a bit of an issue on that night,
but it was backed into four dollars on that night
in the Westbury and basically ended up running last. Now
it's come back, it's had two trials. This is that
horse that last season we were looking at going fuck,
(29:26):
if it can just run straight, it can just beat
anything up and then it just seems to find issue
after issue. But first up it's two from two, so
we know that it can run fresh. The good track
is going to be the interesting part of this. Like
it's it's one.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
It's races on a soft track, but it's one one
on a good track.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
On with it.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
I think that Noble will know what he's doing with
a horse like this, He'll want it to be winning.
So I've put it on top.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
I nearly made it my best bet, but it's just
hard with these sprinting time horses, and especially ones that
have things that have got knocks against them as such,
do you make them a best bet? But I'm going
a pretty tidy field here, marsh. He's got Merchant Queen
in there as well, six bucks into four dollars eighty.
We've seen that perform pretty well at Alley already. You've
(30:15):
got the likes of Bela Luche as well, paying twenty bucks.
And then Twain, which is a little bit of the unknown,
our very well bred pour and Canto out of Fleur
de Luone. And this horse has drawn out in barrier
eleven but it is seven bucks into six dollars. It
has two wins from two starts. I'm going to take
(30:36):
trust around the combo Warren Kennedy Lance Noble luberon the
money was on Kadaka Million's Night. Yes they had an issue.
There's no money on yet, but I'm going to stick
with the ship and hopefully the class will prevail when
we can get a five dollars winter home and look
back and go, fuck, how they give us five bucks?
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Lebron really hurt me. I think it was boxing. Wasn't
boxing day had Puka koey.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
It's like you've just come from your counselor.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Was that was that boxing day.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
At Puka koe where it was leading by five links
and it ran out to the outside rail come.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
To see you in the grand stare mate?
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (31:13):
But yeah, but I I.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Remember because I had a like a decent multi finishing
on it. I think it was like, yeah, it was
had a multi. It was the first time I ever
had one, and I was about to win it. Lubron
was five links ahead and then decided to go fucking
say to the crowd.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
That was quite bad.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Yeah, so and then and then and then then a
little bit after that, I was like, oh, chase my cash.
So I had a decent punch on it for the
thousand guineasse Molly.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Bloom ran Yeah, I think so something someone ran quite well.
It did run quite well.
Speaker 7 (31:45):
Yeah, it was beat at pukakoe It was beat by
pin Dragon in Quintessa.
Speaker 5 (31:54):
Doesn't stack up. And then like then it's got it.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
Then it's had its issue on Clark and Million's Night,
and yeah, I think we just have to write that off.
And now it's then God and had two trials, which
is run second and first. I think this horse could
be back and I think that, yeah, we could get paid.
Sorry mate, yeah, no, no, I agree with you. What
what I was trying to say is I'm chasing my
chasing my cash. Yeah, but I think it's a really
good horse. I think it's the best horse in the
(32:17):
race and I'm going to be taking it at five dollars.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Nice two bucks a place as well.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
Yeah, that's good money for the place Epiricles has done.
Okay as well, Merchant Queen, you were real keen on
it its first run at Allesleie. I think it was
on Benny Stagdoo Luke and you got paid plenty that day.
No danger of it doing exactly the same thing and
just kicking out from barrier one and just leading.
Speaker 7 (32:39):
And picking it off the front, bring it off the
front of the Bigie. The horse will be in for sure,
I mean barrier one as well. Craig Grills, he'll pay
the bills six into four point eight. You'd have to
say that there's a fair bit of confidence around this
horse getting the job done again.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
Now it wasn't like Topoor.
Speaker 7 (32:56):
You've always got to look at those races and go,
oh shit, it's just such a neglie track. Now this
horse was favorite. It was two point seven. I got
beat up by a horse called tro Brand and that
was a huge win. But yeah, look, oh sorry, that
was on the first start back right. But then it
off to Hastings that the money is always on this
horse and been by Navigator as well, So yeah, I
(33:19):
wouldn't be surprised, like they're definitely going to be chasing
something down. I'm just hoping that Lubron is too good
for them. However, I'll probably end up with a savor,
some sort of qunella player as well.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (33:28):
Nice, I think I'll follow you into Luberon, just because
you've got so much confidence around it. Like I said,
you're the king of the punt mates, so you've got
to follow Luke into that. I do like merchant Queint
two dollars a place that could be a good little
savor too, because if it does get ahead, it may
be difficult to chase. So right, let's move on to
RaSE seven, another open handicap, and shit, there's some good
(33:51):
horses coming back in this lads, Habana, Harlck, Shamous, they're
all in there, and of course or Keeshel and Campidessa,
which is pretty blood exciting to be honest. Or Kestral
was possibly outside of Imperature's New Zealand's Best Horse last year.
Putting it out there, I think everyone would agree with that.
What an outstanding horse. It sounds like Orchestral is going
to have a reasonably quiet season. As we talked about
(34:12):
three year old. Four year old can be pretty difficult,
but shit, this horse is something pretty special. So you
know it's good to see it back at the very
least on Saturday.
Speaker 7 (34:21):
Yes, such a good race this and you know it's
awesome to see this horse back. A real performer, this horse,
and we draw barrier one paying ten dollars. The only
knock on this horse is the fact the fourteen hundred
it's had seven goes at it and hasn't won. So Rudyard,
(34:42):
I don't know if we can be on first up,
but of course you're talking about Orchestral. Gee Whiz tried
up massively. This horse hasn't one first up that's my
only knock. That's as a punter. Do you do, don't you?
But that trial was pretty bloody impressive and I don't
you know the good tracks or worry it? Second up
this horses two from two. Maybe it's FOURD enough, like
(35:03):
they've been playing this sort of chess game of this
horse by the seams of kinda. We don't care what
the best fucking races are. We'll tell you what race
we're going to put this horse into and we'll just
win that. So maybe Grills just you know, gets it
out at the right time, goes be saying, yeah, this
horse is fit, we'll put this one away, and then
they're off to you know, whatever race they want to
(35:24):
go to next. So Bookie's obviously running Scared two point two.
It's already two point twenty five into two point two.
I'd say there's been a lot of Australian interest watching
this one as well, which is good to see. We're
going to have Australian viewers watching back at the Big
Ee and Orchestra, which they'll be familiar with from the
kadar Ka millions. So it'd be cool to keep the
story going. I'm sure j Max will be keeping in
the eye on this. But yeah, there's some serious horse
(35:46):
flesh in him. We've got Habana, Campionessa, Rudyard to name
a few, even down the bottom of the book Sabina.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Now that James Well would run in. Yeah, big opinion
of it, apparently, So you would have.
Speaker 7 (35:58):
To think on pure class, you've got to put Orchestral
on top, right, got to be too good for them.
But we're punters, we're sick for it. Sometimes we like
to think, or can these horses get beat? Habana can
go pretty good first up. I think I'm probably too
much with my heart on that, and I'm going to
lean towards being smart with Orchestral. The best horse should
win this race. But I think we'll see Habana flashing home.
(36:22):
It's just gonna be interesting to see how Ellesly's playing
in terms of how much these horses can actually flash
home on this track.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
But I guess we'll find out on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Absolutely, Danny, you on Campinesa or what's going on?
Speaker 2 (36:34):
No, no, not over not over that distance.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
That I'm going to be on her at some point
this season, that's for sure. I can tell you that
right now I'll be punting her at some point she's
a tough mayre and something like this. I just I
always ask a question about this fresh up like, you know,
a sixty five thousand dollars, Ray said, Allesley, Do they
want to win that?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Not really?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
I mean, of course they want to win it, and
they want the horse to win it, but you know,
it's not it's not something they want to win them.
There's gonna be bigger targets than this. I think if
they seen her take, you know, take a set quite
far back and just run on nicely, I think they'd
be really happy with that. And then so what that
means is then it's tempo related and so like it
(37:17):
has to be a really good tempo early for her
to be able to get over the top. I think
I think Sabina is a bit in this. She's one
from one second up and she's run two second placings
over the distance as well.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
I just think, yeah, I think that that's a bit
for me at.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Twenty three dollars and then yeah, is something your place
or three dollars fifty top four? Sorry, I just think
I'll have a little each way on that. I won't
have a big bed in this because camping well, sorry,
Orchestral could just come out and smash him. Habarna could
just come out and smash him. But I think just
value wise, like if I'm looking, those horses are all
(37:59):
fresh up, They've got way bigger targets ahead. They're not
really keen to win this race. Of course they want to,
but it's not like their ultimate goal. There's a horse
like Sabina with Carrien fifty four twenty three dollars and
three dollars fifty top four.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
I'll just have a have a little each way play
on that and.
Speaker 7 (38:15):
Enjoy what I see same race, multi top four into
Orchestral top two, seven dollars twenty five.
Speaker 5 (38:22):
Would you that tempt you?
Speaker 4 (38:23):
Yes? Please?
Speaker 2 (38:24):
What was that so?
Speaker 4 (38:24):
I said? beIN a top four?
Speaker 7 (38:26):
Yeah, Orchestral top two, seven dollars twenty five, it's far out.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
That's really good money.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
I'll put fifty bucks.
Speaker 7 (38:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
Can we get the Wi Fi cot here hot girls? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (38:36):
Yeah, yeah, come on.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
I kind of feel the same as you, Like we've
seen so much over the last few weeks that it's
like it's a bit of a worry. Like you know,
we've seen Coroachetti trial really well and then come out
and it ran well first up, but second up was
just nowhere. You know, Vilocious has come nowhere. You couldn't
have a bit of an orchestral at two dollars twenty.
I hope it does come out and absolutely smash them
because I want it to be that good horse. Roger
(38:59):
J said that he reckons as a five or six
year old it could be one of the best wait
for age race horses in Australia. He will probably wouldn't
just go around saying that kind of thing, would he.
So that's that's pretty impressive. So I'm just regardless looking
forward to seeing that horse. I know this is bloody weird,
but Arby has run, Arby has run, Arby has run
top four and two fresher performances. Army is not a
(39:23):
bad horse over a long distance, and I just wondered
whether at the odds it might be worth a little
top four crack. So I'm gonna have a crack at
Arby top four and just enjoy the race and see
what happens.
Speaker 5 (39:33):
There's always something for you, a like you're always just
well hiding some Yeah, but it.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
Doesn't mean they win. It's sort of they more often
not they don't. But yeah, Arby, no interest in Abby Geez,
come on, guys, I don't know. Let's see what's going
out on out there in the community. Joel, mate, welcome,
Thank you very much for for helping us out tonight.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
Brother. It's good to be with us. Yeah, thanks for
thanks for having me. It's good to be here.
Speaker 6 (39:56):
You got any best bets out there, mate, from me
or from the yeah, Joel, So Joel's gone on ready,
there's listening. Joel got into horse racing because of Ted's
best bets. You're a big fan of Ted.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, A few of my mates and I
just were kind of degenerates all around and just enjoyed
winning from Ted's tips. So it just kind of became
a habit. But yeah, this week I really like in
race nine at Randwick, I am me j mackerboard fifty
five kgs paying twotles sixty at the tab at the
moment as well. So yeah, I bet Ball and Nipotina
(40:28):
last Star and I reckon it can do it again?
And Group two racing.
Speaker 5 (40:32):
Have you just worked that out in the last half
an hour or was this we you pre planned?
Speaker 3 (40:37):
I saw a few people talking about it and like
we were raced two weeks ago, and I really like
Beller and Nipatina as well, and last time it just
shot out in front of her, So I think this
could be could be a great bet.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
For the weekend.
Speaker 6 (40:49):
Absolutely, legend, Joel, there you go, I am me. Race
nine Randwick was there right.
Speaker 5 (40:54):
Yeah, Joel Moon, Yeah you can come back again.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
Maybe you have a blessed be next week.
Speaker 5 (41:01):
Mate. Oh no, I don't know about that.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I don't think they'll be too good.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
What about from the community, mate, what do we got?
Speaker 3 (41:06):
Scott Murray loves all Kisher Race seven, Allslie Dally, mikel
John Randwick Race three, Snowman, Brad Aeger, he likes cool Field,
Race six, number eleven, Commemorative Jack Walker, first race, Biggie
perfect Man's Oh yeah, coming through quite a few tomorrow
Topaul Race two, Sweet and Sassy at five dollars fifty.
(41:29):
That's zaying he's a big fan of that. And then yeah,
Charles Giller, he says, Arby just needs to get out early,
could do anything.
Speaker 6 (41:36):
Arby Yeah, oh yes, oh that's good. See told you fellas.
You know who's the trainer there, Darren and Bryan Weatherley
of Arby as well.
Speaker 7 (41:45):
You know.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
Brian Weatherley's an absolutely legend good trainer.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Yeah, few more coming through. Steve Lister, he likes fangirl
at the at Randwick. That's about Twoler's twenty I think
as well. Joel Biddy he likes just asked me Race
six Wang and Ui Habada Race seven Eli?
Speaker 5 (42:02):
Who sted that? Mark Maynard he likes that one. Anyone
tipping Tim Vogel from the one box?
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Yeah, there was Andrew Fitzgerald.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
I'll have fifty on Tim Vogel.
Speaker 7 (42:11):
He knows.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
Ah, there we go outstanding, right who over that's going
to win the one hundred dollars best bit?
Speaker 4 (42:19):
Who knows? We'll find out on today.
Speaker 7 (42:20):
There's still time to get involved because we'll leave it
open for another twenty four hours.
Speaker 5 (42:24):
The right rackman, you usually pick them out. You've been
doing well'll picking them out?
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Yeah mate, Yeah, I'll pick one probably at about ten
am on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Maybe next week we'll do one for Friday.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
We'll do one for the harness okay for the harness
lads next week drink so this week we'll yeah, well, well,
if we pick it up, we'll keep going until we
get a loser.
Speaker 5 (42:40):
Dae anything else over there mate, the red light still on.
Speaker 7 (42:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Caleb Larson, who likes customized Race four at the big Ee. Yeah,
someone said alsie Race eight Cast of Diamonds. That's Tim Griffin.
He thinks Maddy Cartwright's making New Zealand racing his bitch
at the moment, So yeah.
Speaker 5 (42:58):
I got that right.
Speaker 7 (43:00):
Hey, Joel, what's your What are you most looking forward
to seeing in the season this coming season.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
I'm a big, big fan of Orchestral so I would
love to see Orchestral over in Australia again. But yeah,
I've heard big raps by the Everest. I missed it
last year, so very keen to see hopefully. I wish
I wouldn't tack o the Everest.
Speaker 5 (43:20):
Nice you're going to come along to the King of
the Punt, bring the leads.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
A little, but I know I'll be there.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
I think, yeah, we'll enter a team.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
I don't know. I don't think we'll be We'll be
pushing too hard for King of the Punt. But it
can be your lucky day I get involved. Joel is
one big multi that's what you do.
Speaker 6 (43:38):
How many times can you buy back in Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, brilliant,
Thank you very much. Joel and thank you very much
everyone for your best bit. So we'ven't got that hundred dollars.
I think will be announced on Saturday on social media,
so good luck if that is you lads. Anything else
this week in that you like. I know we've got
(43:58):
a few from Ted and he's keen to announce there's
anything else in any other races before we get to
the best bits that you guys like Luke come back
to me mate.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
After you Dan.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
Strata is going to run again tomorrow night Friday, the
Newcastle Cup Newcastle Gold Cup right seven dollars eight dollars
at the mo eight dollars and two dollars forty over
twenty three hundred. He was a little bit flat last start,
but I'm hoping he's going to win this race and
then he's going to go and win the Bart Cummings
and he's going to make his way unto the Melvine Cup.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Fucking unlikely, but that's what I'm hoping for.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
So Stratha's back again. Love this horse the other one.
I actually do have one another one tomorrow as well.
I'm just trying to look through my black book. How
do I find that?
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Where is that? And here?
Speaker 7 (44:50):
In the meantime, I'll go to Wanganui Race number four.
Hopefully no one's got a best bit in this race.
I don't think so. Horse called Spencer now it's in
bury it which is a little bit niggli. We're going
to get four dollars on the odds surge. Now this
horse was second behind high Yo sas bomb and beat up.
This horse doesn't mind a wet track. I thought four
(45:11):
dollars was pretty good in a field where yeah, there's
nothing too much sticking out. I thought we might have
got five or five and a half, but anyway, happy
to take four dollars. It has drifted a bit which
is a little bit ugly, but yeah, that's where I'm
going to have a little play and doesn't mind the
distance and the course and get through the mud, which
I think it'll be pretty duty there.
Speaker 5 (45:33):
So Spencer to get us done. And race number four
at Wana DEI nice.
Speaker 6 (45:37):
May I see your old mate Durham lands in there
and ladies man returning to that's interesting race.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
I had one at Talpo tomorrow race too sweet and sassy.
I thought it ran really well last start. My comments
were flew home last start follow up to sixteen hundred.
It's not stepping up to sixteen hundred, sticking to the
fourteen hundred, but I think it's maybe worth an each
way go as well. Five fifty two dollars and five
cents Sweet and Sassy Race number two at Talpo the
(46:06):
only other one that I want to throw out as
a bit of an odds one for Saturday. Yes, superov
Luther in an angle he's going around. No, No, I
think it's where we race six. It's a bit of
a hot field. But this horse loves Alleslie and I
almost made it my best bet, but I thought I
need to pull my head because I've not hit one
(46:27):
all year yet.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
But Son of Sun, I remember, funny enough you'll.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
Make Daniel Narclay tipped it out to me about five
minutes before it started to paying ten dollars at Elsie
on Derby Day.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
He picked it out from the yard, didn't he that
day as well? It just shows what a great.
Speaker 5 (46:42):
Man and so I got a bit of cash on
it that day.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
But it won really impressively and those two wins that
it had back to back were really good.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
It second up now.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
Warren Kennedy on board Warren Kennedy's got to be on
for some reason. Twenty three dollars and six dollars fifty
a plays. I just think that's a really good field.
There's a lot of very good horses in that race,
so but it's got a good barrier, maybe one of
those sort of ping off the front jobbies. Twenty three
dollars and six dollars fifty. I just I can't let
that go. I need to have a little each way
go on that.
Speaker 7 (47:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (47:12):
I see it's nominated for race eight as well, but
no jockey. So yeah, they've obviously chosen that race, so
that could be a good bet at the odds. Mane
you found a few at odds hopefully on Saturday. I
thought cast of Diamonds. Somebody called it out. I was
tossing up making that my best bet, but I just
wasn't sure about second up, not never entirely sure. So yeah,
that's last race at Allesley any house rack Man.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
No, No, that's up for maybe there.
Speaker 6 (47:34):
Well, Ted's got a few that he is loving, some
of his old favorites back from back over in Australia.
I know at Corfield another will in race five, not back.
I think this is second up, but it resumed with
a strong win on the track three weeks ago, making
it six wins from nine starts and can repeat. Dan,
you better get a big multi running into another well
at some point again this season because we followed that
(47:56):
with great interest.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Yeah yeah, hey, yep, yep, do it.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
To yourself, mate.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
But Race six cor Field Jimmy Starr as well. He
resumes over eleven hundred meters, which may be a little
short for him, but he does go well fresh and
he will be closing strongly ten starts for five wins,
and of course Gringotts as well. Randwick Race six is
Ted's old favorite fresh up three from three last campaign,
So why don't have a crack at those three because
(48:21):
or chuck them in your black book Ted Rikins as
the horses to follow.
Speaker 5 (48:24):
There's a few Kiwis out there as well. Lad's trust
in you.
Speaker 6 (48:27):
I know it's not like a big horse in New
Zealand circles, but it won the oh the Dunston. Yeah yeah, yeah,
that's on Ossie debut Raandwick Race five. Not sure if
we should get involved with that. You guys got Balatrick
Star on the weekend just because it's a Kiwi.
Speaker 4 (48:41):
So it's trusting you.
Speaker 5 (48:42):
Basically because we knew it was going to win. What
do you mean?
Speaker 7 (48:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (48:45):
Sorry, what's it?
Speaker 5 (48:46):
What's trusting you? Paying? On Saturday?
Speaker 2 (48:50):
He is all far sixty seven dollars?
Speaker 5 (48:53):
She has reapers.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
Are we having a crack at that? Absolutely?
Speaker 5 (48:59):
First up over fort in.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
No, No, he stirred up. Yeah, he stirred up over
two thousand.
Speaker 4 (49:03):
Set a couple of runs in New Zealand day than ja.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
Okay, hang on leading this, let me the other one.
Speaker 6 (49:09):
While you're looking at that rack Man Corefield Race seven,
Penniwicker and Positivity ran really well first up in Australia
as well, and I know that that's yeah, racing against
each other Race seven at Corfield.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
So you're damn whatever to trusting you there, mate?
Speaker 7 (49:26):
Oh no, I'm just puta he's actually getting a bet
on a lover.
Speaker 4 (49:32):
You're a distractor, right.
Speaker 6 (49:34):
Let's let's move on to the best bets from the
lads for this weekend.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
We've got Topoor, we've.
Speaker 6 (49:40):
Got Addington tomorrow night, we've got Alexander Park, we've got
the Big Ee, we've got fun Anwy and there might
be a couple of harness bets on Sunday as well,
so let's get cracking with the harness bets. I can
kick things off perhaps with the scan Man on Friday
night Addington Race too. He's going for the Mantis, paying
two dollars seventy when a super race against some no
three year olds last week and was unlucky over the
(50:02):
last three undred meters when looking for gaps the start
prior around a slashing second when doing plenty of work
with any luck, looks tough to beat on Friday night,
so that can kick your night off well at Addington, Dan,
you found something at at Alexander Park as well, mate.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Yeah, I did, and I've gone to Ray seven the
Group one Cadusius Club Phillies Classic. I'm Sandra d now
fresh up. This horse went huge. It had the last,
the fastest last mile eight hundred, six hundred, four hundred
and two hundred, came from last and flew home, came
home quite nicely.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
Two starts ago.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
This horse like galloped twice, still went around race really fiercely,
sat parked and then still stuck on really gamely for fourth.
This is a really big, strong, shrapping Philly. I think
she's really progressive. They're gonna go really hard in this race.
The big money's up. I think she's going to get
a nice drag through. Hopefully she's in a better sit,
a little bit closer than she did last week. Eight
(50:58):
dollars and two dollars forty. I'm big on this one.
Speaker 7 (51:02):
Very big, love it and he's gonna Macha Karata is
it on Sunday Sunday on Sunday Sunday session.
Speaker 5 (51:08):
He'll be at chut so he won't be able to
watch it.
Speaker 7 (51:09):
But take after him, take after me and race number
five Grand Campaigner has great manners. Expect him on speed,
in the fast lane, in the fight late, in the
fight lane, fucking fight late.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Where am I?
Speaker 5 (51:23):
That's about all?
Speaker 6 (51:24):
Matead to see him in the fuck yeah? Oh fantastic.
I don't think Guess, I guess I was on a
race ten, but he's been scratched in. So do you
have old Maddy Markham's harness halo and bess bit for
this weekend?
Speaker 2 (51:38):
Mate?
Speaker 6 (51:38):
You guess Guess has given us another one good late mail,
so we should tell the other one that he liked too,
that old twenty six dollars shot of buckskin.
Speaker 4 (51:49):
Oh no, it wasn't one of these races.
Speaker 5 (51:50):
It was diesels Diesel.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Yeah, throw that in a little bit, was it guesses Diesel?
So guess he's got a Modercura. On Sunday Race A
Zia bro Man to see what you've done that. The
odds are not out yet, but we might get eight
dollars racing well of late. Usually an on pace runner,
but from the draw will settle midfield, big long, straight,
will suit grass, no issue, loves a stand start. So
(52:13):
that's Sunday Motorcarrara Race eight Zia Bromac. Okay, there we
go and the Harness Halo rack men the Harness. Hello,
Maddie Markham. Markham has gone to Race seven and Addington
Charlie Brown two brilliant seconds and the two lead up
races to the New Zealand Trotting Cup behind Dalton Shard
to start the campaign.
Speaker 2 (52:34):
Unlucky to have not won both of them.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
Great form from the stand will eat up the twenty
meter handicap and it runs anywhere up to his last
two efforts.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
He'll win this.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Open standing star Grass, it's Addington, it's Addington standing start.
This thing goes alright, and then we've got to boost
it out to three dollars fifty two to seventy out
to three fifty.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
It's crazy gamble responsible yeah yeah, maximum bit job man.
Speaker 5 (53:05):
Anyone can bet on it, anyone, even Charlie Brown himself.
Speaker 6 (53:11):
That's the hardest salo on Friday night, Charlie Brown Race seven.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
Have a crack at that. On the futures page. What
is it the futures page of the.
Speaker 5 (53:20):
Racing se It's the racing section on the futures. Yeah,
just find it there on the left hand side, the
section of the racing futures. Yeah, it was.
Speaker 7 (53:29):
It so hard, it's a real tongue to They will
put the link into the app for those of you
who can't find it, you'll be able to click on
the link and you will take yourself to the futures
section of the racing page.
Speaker 5 (53:39):
See it's a bloody good idea, Luke, that's outstanding, mate.
Speaker 2 (53:42):
Easy put it. We'll put it in the email tomorrow
as well.
Speaker 4 (53:44):
Yeah good.
Speaker 6 (53:45):
And there you can also find the blessed bit this weekend,
which yeah, like I said, for some reason, it's been
given to me, but I think no one else put
their hand up, and everyone was very keen on the race.
And I've made it my best bit for this weekend.
The tab have boosted it out from two dollars and
five cents to two dollars fifty, which at this point
in time looks pretty silly.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
Money.
Speaker 6 (54:06):
Was the best bet for me a couple of weeks
ago when it got crunched into a dollar eighty. Couldn't
quite get the job done that day over sixteen hundred meters.
Many Cartwright was running racing on Wolfgang, who beat it
that day. Mandy Cartwright jumps on the Arraus this Saturday
up to twenty one hundred meters. Loves that distance, two
from three over that, and I think all of those
punters that lost their money on it two weeks ago
(54:28):
can hopefully get their money back on it this week.
That's the blessed bet in Arraus two dollars five out
of two dollars fifty. Race too, Elleslie Ragman.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Yeah man, I'm going to Allesleie Meeting to race three
Jack Crab, and I think this one was actually one
of Ted's best bets. Hopefully it doesn't run like a crab.
Hopefully he goes straight and fast.
Speaker 4 (54:45):
Run well.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
Last start at rua Kaka still looked to do a
few things wrong. It was a little bit green down
the straight. It's drawn well again. Matt Cartwright riding out
of his skin. Four dollars eighty two dollars oh five
looks good enough for me. I'm going to do fung
going to race number six. JB Jesus, I hope this
horse wins. The Dream team combined.
Speaker 7 (55:06):
We get Adriaanbull times Kelly Meyers like mattca Right riding
out of her skin. This horse loves the wet track,
loves the mile and loves the track as well. Time
to get our Cup week cash back. Get it done,
JBG will put the yellow caps up? Is there a
first pass the posts market on this race too? Loop?
This is the.
Speaker 3 (55:29):
Right?
Speaker 5 (55:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (55:29):
Yeah, good race, isn't it right?
Speaker 3 (55:32):
There?
Speaker 7 (55:32):
You go?
Speaker 6 (55:33):
Ted's best is actually tomorrow at TOPEPAW TOPO Race seven
my Ani Bell paying four dollars forty nice man resuming
following a trial win at Tarappa last month, and the
half sister to Melody Bell did well on debut, so
she does go well fresh. I know Ted's like this
horse all last season. Say he's taken the opportunity to
(55:54):
make it his best bet. Top A Race seven my
any bell who's got the goats? Lads who's in.
Speaker 7 (56:00):
The goat, You'd be laughing all the way to third
Taylor's house with this one. If I'm going to erase
number seven, comedy trialed nicely on a wet track before
it's the last run at Hawk's Bay, so should handle
the wet. If I'm going to be track on Saturday,
looks a winnable race for it gets stuck in outstanding.
Speaker 6 (56:15):
Like we said, when Goat is on, he is going
to be on. I think it's paying some good money
there too, so you might as well have a crack
at it. We those shoot listeners out there may have
realized that we don't have many punt Iques bets with
us this year. Unfortunately, it's just a little bit short
timing for him to get them in. But he is
posting them online, isn't he. So if you do want that,
you can't find it.
Speaker 7 (56:37):
Yeah, at his Instagram, at punt iq you'll be able
to find that.
Speaker 4 (56:43):
Yeah, have a crack. I think why is he young?
Speaker 2 (56:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
I haven't been following. I did see that he had
a Wednesday fillip because I've watched a story. I seen
his story. He got a winner and then a quanella
as well. Doesn't many always have a fill up? You
always say you're at the races with him and you
and you're struggling and he's like, well, fuck mate, what
are you talking about? It loves that they call him
mobile over there. Yeah, someone you can find his best bit.
Speaker 7 (57:09):
I'm pretty sure he's posting it and a little bit
of a preview of the odd race on Instagram each
week end, but probably on a Thursday off Friday, I think,
or even a Saturday morning.
Speaker 5 (57:18):
So look up puntike you on Instagram. You'll be able
to find it.
Speaker 6 (57:20):
Absolutely outstanding. Good luck Maddie. Right, Oh lads, that's that
wraps it up. Make sure everybody over out there gets
your King of the Punt and Cup day tickets. They
are live and on sale now.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
We can't wait.
Speaker 6 (57:32):
We can't wait for the big either Saturday. We're actually
hitting along, aren't we. We're going to be hanging around
the Ascot stand at some point Joel will be will
be there too.
Speaker 4 (57:41):
It should be a bloody good day out day.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
Yeah, absolutely looking forward to it.
Speaker 7 (57:45):
Yeah. Saving a look at this poll earlier. Who's coming
on Saturday? Eighty six percent of people said they're going
to stay on the couch. What seems lazy, is that?
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Right?
Speaker 7 (57:53):
Yeah, anyway, if you are there, we'll see you there.
Let's have a bit, an easy bit and let's get
on hibara.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (58:01):
Absolutely, hopefully we will see everybody there. Hopefully it's a
good day out for allersie. Good luck to the Auckland
Thoroughbred Racing Club as well for the return to the Biggie.
Everybody is really really looking forward to it. Can't wait
to see everybody there as always. Thank you very much
for joining us on your Thursday evening. Good luck if
you're having a crack at some of those best bits.
Good luck to you lads on the weekend. We will
see you on Saturday, right nearly. Let's go and we'll
(58:23):
look forward to seeing you guys next Thursday again for
day two of the Hawks Bay Carnival rac Man.
Speaker 2 (58:27):
Let's go.
