Julie, I'm very excited to behere and with this interview, we
were talking about how wonderful the humanbody is because you can count on certain
things and comparing it to AI andis as great as a tool as AI
is. It certainly does not replacethe best, and that is the human

(01:11):
brain and the human body. SoHeather, I am so happy to have
you on here. Thank you somuch for your patients through our technical difficulties
prior to starting the program. Welcometo the Brain Lady Speak Show. Thank
you so much for having me.I'm really excited to be here. Yeah,
this is going to be a wonderfulconversation. I mean, what a
topic. So our topic is howto unlock the healing power within your body's

(01:34):
drainage pathways. This is very interesting. I'll get into it a little bit,
a little bit of my background afterwe get started, but I do
want to let anyone who's watching knowwho we are. Of course, I
am Julie Anderson aka Brain Lady Julie, and we are excited to talk all
things brain and body and things thatwe can do to improve our health from

(01:57):
the inside out mental health as wellas physical health, emotional health, relationship
health, all of the above.I like to tell people it all starts
with the brain and of course whatit does and how it controls the body.
So let me give you a littlebit of background on our guests.
I'm going to give you read herprofessional bio and then we'll get into the

(02:19):
real Heather. So. Heather Crasinis a cellular optimization specialist who helps people
recover from debilitating health concerns, regaintheir vitality, and re engage in life.
Her goal is to help people breakfree from the conventional medicine model of
chasing symptoms and instead get to theroot of the cause of chronic health issues

(02:43):
people are experiencing. With nearly twodecades of experience and health and wellness industry,
her passion is equipping people with practical, easy to implement wellness strategies so
they can approach their healing process withclarity and confidence. So once again,
Heather, we come to the brain. Lady speaks, Thank you absolutely,

(03:04):
this is it's such an interesting Istarted to I'll take my glasses off now
so I can see my eyes.Uh. My background started like three almost
three decades ago in natural health. And so one of the things that I'm
not one hundred percent sure about thewisdom you're going to share, so it
might be might be connected or notconnected. But one of the things that
you learn when you're dealing with healthis that lymphatic system and the drainage system

(03:29):
and getting the toxins out of yourbody and detoxifying all the different parts of
your body through the different drainage systems, and how important that is and how
much chronic health issues come from thatsystem being blocked in one way or another.
So I am looking forward to hearingyou your story. So give us

(03:49):
a little bit of background. WhatI mean, this is such an interesting
field, very specific about that intalking about health and wellness and the the
way that the body works. Whatdrew you into the health and wellness because
you've been doing this for about twentyyears? You said, yeah, Well,
personally, when I was about twentyyears old, I was diagnosed with

(04:13):
low thyroid and they said, ofcourse, you're gonna have to be on
the medication called synthroid for the restof your life. And I was twenty.
I don't want to be on apill forever. So I was talking
to an acquaintance who's also a physician, and I told him. I was
like, well, I got diagnosedwith this thyroid problem. I'm going to
figure out some natural ways to healthis. And this guy looked at me
and he said, you will neverbe able to heal your thyroid. You

(04:35):
are always going to be on medicationand there's nothing you can do to change
it. My business is named DefiantWellness, and I have a contrarian personality,
so I was like, oh,okay, is that so? So
I started researching all of these differentthings. Yeah, exactly. I started
reaching researching all the different ways tostart healing your thyroid, and I found

(04:59):
some good ones. I also Ifound the Master cleansed as well. Are
you familiar with that one? No, I'm not. It's if you mix
cayenne pepper, lemon juice, andmaple syrup, all all of your problems
will go away. So I didthat one. I think I made it
about ten days before I passed out. Like there were sometimes I was so
hungry during this quote unquote detox thatI drank maple syrup straight from the bottle.

(05:25):
And it was a super low pointin life, and I was like,
okay, I did not do verywell on that one. But as
I made mistakes and as I learned, then I started diving into how the
body actually works. And in asimilar timeframe, I got into this field
as well. And in massage.I get a little bit frustrated because when

(05:45):
I first started out, people comein with neck pain and you work on
their neck and they feel better forlike two hours, and then the pain
comes back. So you have tostart. I had to start that whole
process of learning how to dig deeper. And it's like, Okay, why
why is this pain occurring instead ofjust where? And if you look at
symptoms in the body, that's thesame thing. Why is this symptom happening

(06:06):
versus what is happening? So it'sbeen a constant process of digging into all
of this stuff. Yeah, andthat's so important. Like, really,
over the decades of modern medicine,if you want to call it that,
there's such a take to aspirin andcall me in the morning kind of mentality.

(06:26):
You know, it's like, I'mexperiencing these problems. What can you
give it? Give to me tomake it better. I have high blood
pressure, you know, give mea pill for high blood pressure, as
opposed to making diet and exercise changesto get rid of it in the first
place. So it's very it hasthat mentality, and I think over the
last you know, probably a coupleof decades, it started to really shift

(06:49):
and there's a lot of talk outthere about ways to address the cause as
opposed to just treat the symptoms. So when people come to you and they
give you this list of symptoms thatthey're experiencing, whether it's you know,
headaches or joint aches or you know, skin irritations or whatever that is,

(07:10):
how do you determine what to startwith? Like, how do you how
do you know? Because there's sucha wide variety of ailments out there and
ways that lymphatic issues can can presentin the system and the body. Well,
I love making it simple. Allof these symptoms out there make it
seem so complicated. But if welook at everybody's symptoms, part of the

(07:33):
reason those are occurring is because thebody is not draining or detoxifying properly.
So the very first thing I lookat with people like are you having regular
bowel movements? Are you are youhaving a bowel movement one to two times
a day because you can't flush yourclog toilet, if that, if your
colon is backed up, if it'snot working, nothing else your body's doing

(07:54):
is really working to get those toxinsout. So you've got to have good
bowel movements and then getting the liverhealthy, getting your biole flowing better bile.
We just kind of bypass it.We think, oh, the gallbladder,
we can operate without that organ. But biole is really important. It
helps us digest fats, it's acrucial part of the entire digestive process.

(08:16):
But it also binds to toxins,so the things we're trying to get out
of our body. And the liveris the main organ that detoxifies stuff,
so then the biole takes what theliver detoxifies, takes it into the colon
to be flushed out, so makingsure those are healthy, and then you
get to the lymphatic system. Andthe lymphatic system this is my favorite.

(08:37):
I love this. It's been socool. That's what cleans the waste and
toxins from within and around the cells. So it's like that power washed down
in there. And if you havetoo much lymphatic congestion, too much waste
and toxins around the cells, you'renot going to be able to get the
nutrients and oxygen into your cells youneed to heal. So that's one of

(09:01):
the first steps to healing is gettingthe waste in toxins out and so a
lot of people when they look atthe lymphatic system. Number one. They
only hear about it in relation tocancer, like you get lymphoma or if
you get an infection and your lymphnodes are swollen. But I mean,
the lymphatic system is involved in everysingle process in our body and cleans everything

(09:22):
down to that cellular level. Soit's involved in our organ health and our
tissue health, just everything, andthat connects up into the brain. And
the brain has its own lymphatic systemcalled the glymphatic system, its own waste
removal system, and they all haveto work together. But if you're not
pooping, you can't do brain stuff. Exactly, exactly. That's one of

(09:43):
the I remember years and years ago, and I was just a teenager at
the time, and I was sufferingfrom a headache from headaches. And the
first thing the chiropractor. We wentto the chiropractor, and the first thing
the chiropractor asked me, or oneof the first things. I don't know
that was literally the first, butone of the first things he asked me
was how regular are you? Youknow, do you get constipated? Like
people don't realize. I mean, this is kind of a sorry audience.

(10:05):
This is a little bit of agross part. But literally that's one of
the first repercussions of not having regularmovement. And I like to tell people,
you put things in your mouth, you should have things leaving your body,
right, You put things in yourbody that should be leaving your body
because you have to make room forwhat you just put in. And if
you don't, then you get thatthat ick feeling, and that can leave

(10:28):
that toxins in your body, forit can just recirculate toxins in your body
if you're not eliminating that way,and cause all kinds of brain problems,
brain fog, and the digestive systemis so closely connected to the brain.
Right there's you know, millions ofneurons in your gut and if you're upset

(10:52):
down there, so very important forbrain function that all of this is functioning
right. So when you talk aboutthat lymphatic system, because as I mentioned,
you know a few minutes ago,it's something that is so important,
a lot of people don't fully understandhow it works because if you're not moving,

(11:16):
right, if you leave us livea sedentary lifestyle, because the way
the lymphatic system works is you haveto work your muscles, you have to
move in order to help that thatwork at its peak. Isn't that correct?
M Yeah, so is that something? Is that? Another like factor

(11:37):
If you talk to one of yourclients and they say you ask them,
do you ask them what their exerciseroutine is, like, what their physical
fitness routine is, like I do? It really depends on a person.
So if there's somebody who's very ill, chronically ill, and they're just completely
debilitated, they're not going to beable to have a consistent exercise routine.
So we have to figure out otherthings. And typically they're not. They're

(12:00):
messed up a little further along thedrainage pathways, so we get those working
and also fueling the mitochondria that givesthem the energy to exercise. But if
there's somebody who's feeling good who mightbe a tiny bit low on energy,
of course get exercising in there. And another huge one is deep breathing.
Just like the like you said, the lymphatic system doesn't have a pump like

(12:24):
our heart does for this circulatory system, but our diaphragm can act as that
pump, and so when we're takingthose deep breaths, it's a huge part
of the of the detoxification process atthat cellular level, and it's pushing limph
through, it's pushing it through yourorgans and getting that cleared out. I

(12:46):
was just talking to somebody. Oneof the things that can limit our ability
to breathe deeply. I mean, there are many things if we're sitting too
much in all of this, buteven like c section scars, if people
of those that can really impede adeep breath in that downward movement of the
diaphragm, and a lot of peopleforget about those, women just kind of

(13:07):
don't want to look at them oranything. They just forget because you had
the baby and you move on.But c section scars really can affect how
you breathe. So I have thinkingabout scar tissue in that reference and things
that can prevent a deep breath.Yeah, I hadn't noticed that, that's
one of the things. So Ihave an entire program around stress management and

(13:28):
building resilience and all of that, and one of the key key steps is
practicing deep breathing several times a daybecause we don't realize how tense our body
gets, Like pretty much every timeI take a deep breath, even if
I'm not feeling tense. If Itake that really deep breath on the excel,

(13:48):
my shoulders drop right, And sowe don't realize how much like this
we are. And when we're likethis, we're normally inward as well.
And if you're inwards, restricting yourlung capacity, and if you're restricting your
lung capacity or not breathing deep enough, so being able to do that on
it just every hour, just takingyou know, it takes seconds. Really,

(14:11):
you know, it doesn't even takea full minute. I mean it's
good if you can take more time, but literally just taking those few few
deep breaths. But I hadn't thoughtabout it from the perspective of the diaphragm
activating that lymphatic system to help withwith the lymphatic drainage. Oh, I
love it. It's so cool. And then you hit on another really important

(14:31):
point like the reducing the stress andall of that. If your body is
physiologically stressed, it's not going tobe able to heal. We need to
be able to access that healing state, that calm restorative state in order for
our cells to heal. And asour cells heal, we heal. Yeah,
And so breathing is an easy,or I should say it's a simple

(14:52):
way to do that. It's notalways easy. We have to remember to
do it. But just anything wecan do to access that healing state and
give our body margin. And onceyou have that physiological component in place,
it helps you process mental and emotionalstressors in a better way. So true,
so true, And people don't alwaysrealize this, right, Even just

(15:15):
the breathing, just breathing alone, you're restricting. If you're restricting the oxygen
to your body, you're restricting theoxygen to your brain. And when you
restrict the oxygen to your brain,it reduces your cognitive ability, right,
It reduces the ability to just simplythink right, just think about how to
solve a problem, or balance acheckbook, or or you know what to
cook for dinner. Like it can. It can have profound effects across the

(15:39):
board that you don't think about asbeing big. And it's all boils down
to just simply not getting enough oxygenand nutrition up into that muscle, the
brain, you know, that piece, that wonderful piece of machinery that needs
to be fed, because if youdon't fuel it, then it stops working
effectively. Now, there are alot of people. I'm curious how there

(16:00):
how you because I have found especiallyyou know, the more people, uh,
there's so many more, so manyindividuals out there who are dealing with
autoimmune dysfunctions, different things, lotsof inflammatory disorders, things that you just
didn't really hear that much about fiftyyears ago. How does this And I

(16:26):
think between the diets and the stressorsphysical and emotional and trauma and all of
that, that all compounds. Buthow does the how does all of this
drainage and getting the toxins out ofthe body, How does that affect that
managing inflammation? Because in almost inso many diseases and dysfunctions, chronic inflammation

(16:49):
is a piece of that. Well, the immune system is going to create
that inflammation, but though in factsystem is what clears it away. And
so if you can do lymphatic workregularly, and I don't mean going to
a lymphatic therapist or a lymphidema therapist, there's so much stuff you can do

(17:12):
on your own at home. Alot of people would say, like do
rebounding or dry brushing. I doit a little bit differently, Like I'm
sorry, dry brushing goes from theextremities inward, I kind of work closest.
I start working closest to where thelymph pours back into the heart,
so that's in the subclavian veins, which are just behind the collarbones. So

(17:34):
I work that area first and thenwork my way through the rest of the
body. And for me and inmy practice, that has seemed to work
best. But as long as we'regetting that lymph moving, like I'll work
on little kids, and especially ifyou see them like they're on video games
a lot, they're watching TV alot, and they have that head forward
posture. Their lymph nodes are extremelycongested underneath their chin. It just feels

(17:56):
like marble's under there. And there'ssomething about human touch and contacting that and
getting it to move. You're notgoing to get that through rebounding. You've
got to really put your hands onthat area and start clearing it. And
I know the lymphatic system is higherup the drainage pathways, but as I
work on people, I start workingthat from the beginning because I've seen so

(18:21):
many great results. And if peoplehave a lot of muscle and joint pain,
or I should say joint pain, our lymphodes are in the joints,
so you can really make great progress. Sacral pain, lower back pain.
There are lymph nodes around that, and maybe it's not quite a nerve issue.
Maybe it's a fluid management issue.After I had my C section,

(18:41):
what with my first son, Ihad trouble with a lot of pain around
my sacrum in those areas and Idid lymphatic drainage and it cleared it right
up. It was amazing that.Oh go ahead. We have a question
that was asked, is what isrebounding. So rebounding is those little trampolines
basically more or less like it's it'sthe it's the jumping. I mean,

(19:03):
you don't it's it doesn't have tobe on a little trampoline, right because
it is jump it's that like thejumping stacks. And yeah, just jumping
right that up and down, thatup and down motion, because that activates
that lymphatic system and gets it getsit moving. Even just doing extremity shaking,
it can work to some extent.Am I am I correct with that?

(19:25):
Oh yeah, just gets stuff movingdoing and all of that, Yeah,
gets it gets it moving. Sowhat is when you talk about when
you because you talked about the drybrushing. Do you when you work with
your clients, do you work withmassaging those areas? Is that kind of
what you just were mentioning. Isthat what you were saying. Yeah,

(19:47):
I'll do hands on work. Soa very basic thing. I just put
my hand on somebody's neck, likeright above the collarbone, and you do
gentle circles and lymphatic work is notat all like a deep tissue massage.
Lymphatic if you would imagine squeezing anavocado or a peach just enough to see
if it's ripe, that's that's theamount of pressure. Uh. And as

(20:08):
you get to know your body, you can adjust, but this is not
like a deep tissue massage. Soyou can do circles, you can tap,
and you'll activate different nerve receptors andjust see which way your body responds
best. And so that's what Ido over all the lymphanodes. Obviously I
can add more massage techniques to itor make it flow a little better,

(20:30):
but it's been it's been really coolto integrate into practice and into my own
life. Yeah. Yeah, it'sso wonderful when we can Every now and
then, when I get stressed outor something's not flowing mentally, and I'm
I have to stop and I dothe deep breathing and I'm like, okay,
Julie, listen to your own advice. What's off in your life?

(20:53):
What do you need to what doyou need to do? So anyways,
go back to the brain, becauseyou know that's what I'm I'm passionate about.
You mentioned that that the brain hasits own, you know, its
own lymphatic system, and it's oneof the this is why one of the
reasons why sleep is so important,so vitally important, because this is when

(21:17):
that system really takes activity or hasa lot of activity, is during those
sleep hours. But what how doesthat lymphatic system tie into detoxing the brain
and what are some ways that Soyou talked about, you know, activating
the lymphatic system and the lymphatic nodesthrough movement and light pressure or body dry

(21:41):
scrubbing or whatever. What about thebrain? What do you suggest for the
brain? The brain, it's verycrucial that you have the rest of the
lymphatic system flowing first, because ifif lymphatic congestion is high in the rest
of the body, it will preventthe stuff in your head from draining.
So getting into a good lymphatic drainageroutine for everything is going to help with

(22:03):
the brain drainage. But one ofthe very first things, and people can
do it right now as they're sittinghere, you sit up straight and align
your head over your shoulders, becauseif you're if you have that head forward
posture, you're kind of cutting offsome of that lymph flow in the pathways
that do drain it from the brain. I think it comes out the internal

(22:25):
jugular vein, and so we've gotto have good posture and maintain that.
As I like in my background,I can do some hands on techniques that
are a little more advanced that peoplecan't do on their own. But there's
a head and neck routine that Iteach. Have you ever seen those wash
us stones, like those little green, oddly shaped heart things. Yes,

(22:48):
they're kind of popular in the faceand all of that world, but I
actually love that for encouraging fluid toflow from the the neck and head.
Another area that has worked well forme personally and in practice is clearing under
the chin because it starts helping youaccess those deep cervical lymph nodes that are

(23:11):
way back here. In your throat. You can also are saying just with
the one of those stones doing thistype of thing, yeah, Or you
can do it with your fingers too, I just like the feel of the
stone better. Yeah, but justworking underneath your chin pulling back. Then
if you if you stick your tongueout and then like stick it out as

(23:33):
far as you can and then bendit back over, you're gonna start getting
your tongue moving. And that's ahuge way to get lymph moving. You
can know that. Okay, sorry, if anybody sees me stick my tongue
out at you, I am justsimply trying to move my lymph system.
It's pretty cool. If you doa couple of little resets, you'll notice
a pretty immediate difference in how like, if you have a nagging throat clear

(24:00):
or nagging cough that's high up inyour throat, you can feel a difference
just moving your tongue around a lot, like stretch it to the extreme or
like push your tongue into your cheek. But you'll start to feel it after
a few repetitions. That kind oflights your face on fire. That is
so interesting. I did not knowthat hear all this stuff about the brain.

(24:21):
I didn't know how to how toactivate that that detoxing system of the
brain. Well, the other partyou love about it is that it's all
connected to the vegas nerve. Yeah, and you know all about that and
how it's connected to the brain andthe gut and everything else. So yeah,
and then diaformatic breathing, if you'rebreathing properly, you massage the vegas
nerve well. So, and that'sone of the things I there's there's some

(24:45):
interesting It's it's interesting because I startedtalking about doing deep breathing exercises, and
whenever I start my when I talkabout deep breathing in my presentations and I
walk people through a deep breathing exercise, I always tell them this isn't for
real lifexation and the relaxation is theex health through the mouth, but I
have them ex health through their nose. So actually keep it through the entire

(25:06):
process. You're keeping your mouth shutbecause that affects the brain differently than the
exhaling. And you can also donostril breathing right where you're just breathing out
of one nostril versus the other anddoing that back and forth. In order
to activate different regions of the brain. But it is, it's so interesting
how they're finding the benefits of doingthose practices with your mouth closed, those

(25:33):
deep breathing practices, because that helpsto reset the nervous system as well.
If you know, if it's onfire and your parasympathetic and sympathetic are does
like crazy against each other, right, it helps to kind of calm that
and reset that nervous system. Solots of fascinating information that we're learning more
and more and more about the humanbody. And I swear every single new

(25:57):
study just amazing, is me evenmore about how how truly incredible it is
from head to toe, you know, from the from the very top to
the very bottom. So fascinating stuff. So what are some simple steps.
So somebody's thinking right now and they'relistening to this and they're they're hearing this
discussion, and they're saying, Okay, wait a minute, I do have

(26:19):
joint pain, I do have headaches, I do have you know, chronic
inflammation. I have these health issuesor maybe even worse. I can barely
get up and move, so Ican't go exercise thirty minutes on the you
know, cardiovascular like Julie's always tellingme to do. So I'm not going
to listen to Julie anymore. I'mgonna go listen to Heather, because Heather's

(26:41):
going to tell me. You know, what are some simple steps that people
can take right now that can helpthem whatever stage they're at, And maybe
you could give, you know,a couple from or a few a few
few examples from basic. If you'rereally stuck and you really don't have much

(27:03):
movement up to well, I'm prettyhealthy, but I really want to be
healthier, what are some of thosesimple steps that people can do to start
improving that lymphatic flow and improving theirbrain health because of that, Well,
if I would look at an overallpicture that is a bird's eye of you

(27:25):
looking into the lymphatic system, thevery first thing, if somebody's really struggling
with their health and they don't havea lot of energy to do stuff,
just start eliminating the toxins that arecoming into your body in the first place.
Toxins intoxicants, So just eating betterthings or skipping processed foods, like
all we have to do is avoidit. We can do that relatively easily.

(27:48):
Sometimes that's a little bit harder forme to skip some of those things,
but just gently changing out the cleaningproducts in your home, because if
you reduce the toxic load coming intoyour body, that's us that your body
has to process in the end.So if you don't have a lot of
energetic resources to do that, thatcould be a really good place to start.
One thing I talk about with peoplewho are on a time crunch and

(28:11):
an energy crunch is just what wewere mentioning before. So sit up straight,
lift your sternum just an inch ortwo, bring your head into alignment,
and then start taking those deep breathsinto your abdomen, those deep diaframatic
breaths. And you've been coaching peoplethrough that. So what I have people
do is inhale for account of fourthrough their nose, and then exhale through

(28:33):
their nose for account of eight, and just start doing that, and it
only takes a couple of seconds.I've been really busy raising kids, and
I get very distracted, but Iknow that I can do these three things,
and if I just focus on itfor a few seconds, it really
makes a difference. I agree wholeheartedly. I often tell people, you know,

(28:53):
if you can eat less of thebad and more of the good.
That's a start, always is start. One of my one of the things
that I or certificates that I thatI have, which is just it's was
a fairly deep dive into brain health, and it's as a brain health professional.

(29:15):
And the instructor is brilliant, beyondbrilliant, Like he has he has
scanned to so many brains and hereads all of these very technical brain scans
and he's he's amazing. His However, his philosophy of lifestyle and eating and

(29:37):
all of that is so extreme.I'm like, sometimes if we ask our
if we tell our brain no allthe time, our brain will rebel.
And that's all you're going to crave. So if you can just simply start
eliminating the really bad things and replacingit with the good things, Like if

(29:57):
you're a soda drinker, sodas arelike they're on a hit list, right,
they're just if you can there's somuch sugar and artificial colors, and
we could just go on and onand on. If you could eliminate sodas
and replace it with carbonated water, you know, with the it's not necessarily
the best thing. Really just pureclean water with maybe a slice of fruit

(30:18):
in it is going to be yourbest. But if you like the carbonation,
you know, you're like, canyou can you get rid of the
really bad and kind of bring insomething that's not so bad if you can
start taking those those positive steps. And I love that you hit on the
cleaning we don't realize and personal careproducts as well, shampoos. When you

(30:40):
think about it, your skin, your body washes. You know, your
skin is the largest organ in yourbody. And when you talk about detoxification,
sweating is one of is an amazingway that your body detox is right,
So being able to have if you'reclogging that up with something that's highly

(31:00):
perfumed or has a lot of chemicalsin it, or you're rubbing right into
your brain something that's got carsonogenets init, Yeah, might want to think
twice. And you know that bringsup a good point, like if you're
struggling, if you don't feel well, if you don't have a lot of
energy to work up a sweat inthe gym, you can do that sitting
in a hot bath. Yes,that is a very good point. That

(31:23):
is a very good point. Yeah, very good point. Just don't,
you know, put chemicals in yourbathroom exactly. Yeah, I like that.
I like that talk. Starting totake those those simple, those simple
steps, and then you can startmoving and yes, you don't have to
get up, and ultimately, expertssay for peak brain health, what they've

(31:45):
shown for reduction of Alzheimer's and dementia, brain degenerative diseases. You know,
they're talking forty minutes of cardiovascular everyday, not hit exercises. It's not
like I'm dying kind of stuff.Just getting that heart rate at However,
meet yourself where you're at right,So your point is very good. If

(32:05):
you can't get the sweat on throughexercise than asauna or a hot bath.
If you can't do a full youknow, twenty thirty forty minutes, then
just get up and walk out toyour mailbox and back a couple of times
a day. Right, Just dothat a few times a day until you
can start building on it. Andthen you go down to the corner of

(32:28):
your block and then you make itall the way around your little steps.
I think that's so much more importantto do that, because if you overwhelm
again, if you overwhelm your brain, then your brain is actually going to
work against you. So doing thosedifferent things, and of course keeping that
internal gut healthy and clear it outas well is super super important for good

(32:51):
health. What are some of thewhen you Since that's kind of where we
started, we're getting to that pointwhere we need to wrap it up.
Let's kind of wrap at full circle. So we talked about lymphatic system.
How do we get the lower gutfor individuals, because it really is a
chronic issue for many people. Howdo we get the digestive system to flow

(33:15):
without having to make huge like arethere things you can add into your diet
more? I mean for years itwas more brand I mean, I know
what I personally do, But whatdo you suggest on the being able to
keep your system moving and keep youon the regular if you know what I
mean? You know it sounds likeit can be such an easy question,

(33:39):
but sometimes that's one of the hardestquestions I'm asked because everybody is so different
and it's I mean, some detoxgurus out there would say, oh,
drink your green smoothies and load itwith spinach and beets and all of that,
and then switch out your baking flourfor almond flour. But if you're
sensitive to histamines or oxalates, that'sgonna be one of the worst things you

(34:02):
could do, and that's gonna irritateyour symptoms. So this is why,
like the very first thing I tellpeople is quit eating crap, so the
carbonated refined carbonated drinks, and thenrefined sugars, flowers and oils, artificial
sweeteners, colors and flavors, andthen processed foods. That is a journey

(34:22):
in and of itself to do that, but like you were saying, if
you just break it down, switchyour sodas to carbonated water and then you
know what. I even tell people, like give up the artificial sugar,
but just eat real sugar instead.Like it's not the best advice, but
at least get rid of the artificialstuff and have calm your sweet tooth a

(34:44):
little bit. But yeah, thatnutrition question is really hard. But if
you can get cleaner foods in there, get good fats, that's so key
because your fats are gonna make upor the fats you eat are gonna make
up your cell walls, and youneed resilient cell walls to get waste and
toxins out and nutrients in and ifwe're eating those rancid seed oils, and

(35:08):
I know some of them sound pretty, but if you look at their process
and how they're made, they're notpretty. It's disgusting. And they use
bleach and deodorizers and all that stuffto make it look acceptable on the shelf,
but it's not. It's gunking upeverything in your body. And so
if you can get good, healthyfats, and again that's going to be
different for everybody, but like agee or grass fed grass finished tallow or

(35:35):
butter, those types of things don'tI know everybody has different philosophies on that
as well, but just getting healingfats into your body, that's going to
be huge. And some people aren'table to tolerate a lot of fat based
on like a gall bladder removal orjust sluggish bile, but little bits at
a time, because we really needgood fats in our diets. I think

(35:58):
that would be the one I hiton the most because it's pretty consistent,
like get rid of the canola, get rid of the margarine, get rid
of all the stuff in the processedfoods, and just eat real fat.
I love that. So one ofthe soap boxes I have to tell you
this story because it's just a funnylittle story. So I when I started
on my health cook many many yearsago, I was like, margarine partially

(36:22):
hydrogened oils like out of our dietused to drive my kids crazy when I
would read the ingredients list, right, so partially hydrogen eed oil, which
is basically all artificial butters, right, you know, and I say artificial
better like they have done so manystudies that people who have a high butter
intake have lower rates of heart diseasethan those who use replacements with margins.

(36:45):
Anyways, and my nieces one timewhen they came over and they watched the
house, they hid little tabs, you know, the little individual packets of
margin all over my house, allover my house because just to get back
at me for constantly being on myeye horse about don't eat it. So

(37:08):
yes, I fully fully agree withyou. Those are that is just you
know, getting rid of that.I would rather, I tell people,
if you have to have sweets,if you have to have sweets, I
would rather see you eat a tablespoin of sugar then put you know,
put a table spooner sugar in yourcoffee or whatever. Then I would see
you put an artificial sweetener. Peopledo not understand that those are straight chemicals.

(37:30):
Those are straight chemicals, and thoseare so so, so bad for
the brain. Some of the worstthings you can do for your brain is
artificial sweeteners. So, okay,I'll get off on my soapbox. Now,
Can I get back on the soapbox? Absolutely? Absolutely, let's just
share the soapbox here, George,Oh, perfect, read the labels on

(37:51):
your avocado oil and you're olive oiltoo, because they're they're cutting it like
they're being really cheap in their production. And if you do not read the
label carefully and you think, oh, I'm getting olive oil, no,
it's still dyed. They put canolaoil in it. So make sure you're
getting good kinds of those and sourcedfrom good places. Yeah, reading labels
is such a I think it's soimportant to educate ourselves that way. You

(38:16):
know, if you can't really pronounceit, you might want to. But
yeah, like I said, mykids used to every time they'd bring me
a box of cereals, somebody canwait buy this as I mean, you
could just see the look on theirfaces. As soon as I would turn
the box around, they'd be like, oh, Mom's not gonna buy it.
But even in like the healthy granolacereals, if you get a chocolate

(38:37):
coating, it still has splendent init. Yeah yeah, and of them.
Yeah, and you have to watchthat with even just like like your
protein bars. So many protein barsand quote unquote healthy snack bars are loaded
loaded with sugars, you know,So if you're trying to cut back on
your sugars or a lot of yourdiet bars, you know, oh you

(39:00):
need to lose weight, so you'reeating a diet protein bar that it has
has artificial sweeteners in it. Soyeah, lots of things that you have
to be aware of and not tooverwhelm the listeners. But the bigger picture
is if you you have to Theseare all parts of being healthy and taking
steps towards better health, better bodyhealth, better physical brain or better brain

(39:23):
health, and take it one stepat a time, right, And if
you don't know where to start, that's when it's wonderful to reach out to
a health professional like Heather or ifyou want to talk brain stuff, you
know, give me a call whateverthat is. But that's where this WEE
can help you. Make this youknow, make those little adjustments so that

(39:44):
your brain's not overwhelmed, but youcan start making forward progress into a healthier
lifestyle. And I know for myself, I have to reset all the time,
all the time. You know,I just got off of two weeks
of heavy travel for speaking and youknow, talking brain stuff to people,
and I was exhausted, and it'slike I'm a reset this week, Like

(40:06):
this is a week that is justI'm trying to listen to my body and
just let it kind of go backto eating healthy because when you're in and
out of airports and all, youknow how it goes. So even even
those of us in these positions, you know, we have to reset,
reset often. So it has beenso as you can tell, as the
listeners can tell, we have hada wonderful time here talking. Thank you

all at. It's it's a greatway to hit to feeling better. And
when you feel better, everything Ialways tell that's why our four Pillars starts
