(00:23):
mcgigan and Ran mclarchlin. The letterto be joined by the one and only
ball boxing stakeholder match Rooms for aman Eddie hearn eddie heist things fantastic boys.
I was just you were saying,I'm fair. You know, I'll
drop you a little message. You'vebeen hounding me for about three months.
Drop you, I'll drop you alittle message at that, you know,

(00:44):
on the afternoon. Oh when canwe do it now? Thinking they will
never say yes? Twenty minutes later, Yeah, here's a zoom details So
welcome boys. You gotta stay onyour toes, can we? We were
good at the ends of there areforum it You know us, you're one
of You're one of a very few. Do you notice anything but in Calum's
background? Um? Oh yeah, little design, very great, great bit

(01:10):
of product placement. All we've gotto do is get rid of the tash
and we'll be fine. You've onlygot what uh two days left? You're
going to see this all weekend?A tier to stay, is it?
Ok? I get the Phoenix onWadenstein. When do you get that same?

(01:34):
Okay, what's he been lag around, Jaddie, when he's been he's
left, he's left. Yeah,this week's a big show. I mean,
like he was in Cleveland, whichis quite a small show in comparison
to what we've been doing over There'sstill good, but this week's a bigger
about ten thousand in you know,I mean, he's a he's a real

(01:55):
legendary fight. Those boys in thecards unbelievable as well. So Phoenix is
one thing about America is every stake'slike a different country, you know.
Come Like we're using Cleveland, soquite a weird place. Like nice if
there's any people from Cleveland listening tobroad boxing. But yeah, but I
just like Phoenix. Phoenix has beena great market for us. When we

(02:15):
did Daniel Jacobs against Chavez there,we did like ten thousand don't have a
big shows, and again like we'dhave ten thousand in there on Saturdays.
It's going to be a great night. I have to say, Addie,
like there's a there's a couple offunny stories come out of this. For
the first ones obviously that the daaBackham show because you're not well known in
America. Well, I know thatmade her. I know I know that

(02:45):
made her dree go a little bit. But this woman, so Addie setting
them front of me, it waslike the early on their card fates.
He's setting them front of me.I'm obviously behind the red rubtis in front
of them as usual, and thatI was. I was in the row
and she kept like talking to herfriends. I asked him who Addie was,
and then one of them has toldher that's David Beckham. And she
turned to me and she said, you're from Europe, like, is that
David Beckham? And I just lookedat her. I'm like, yeah,

(03:07):
get full of him. He's sittingBut I'm probably not as Beckham to be
fair. But I'll tell you,you know the funniest one out of You're
not even going to clock that Iclocked this story, but a Canalo triple
g. You've came out to talkto Freddy Cunningham from behind at the way
and so you were all ready forthe way and just before and you've jumped

(03:29):
over like almost like a like trees. I don't know if you remember this,
but you've jumped over and you've gottalking to him and you've went to
go back and the woman said no, no, no, no, you
can't get in there, and yousaid you're you're looking at her like what
she's going, no, no,I can't get in there. So she
went crazy. I've I've watched youhave like player cams you yeah, right,

(03:50):
yeah, yeah? He went rightaround the back, right, you
had to walk away. There wasthere was a lynch right to go to
get down the things. She's like, no, no's and I hate saying
it right because it's really greeting you. But I'm like, right, she
goes, I don't care, andI was like, sorry, she goes,

(04:12):
I don't care. You've got towalk around. I went listen,
not being funny. I just gotto put my leg on there and I'm
there, no no, Then shewear do you want me to get you
arrested? And Jesus Christ, youknow it's funny because you know, you
know those laminates here, I hateto wear them, but not meaning to
bear agam, but I just findthem so annoyed, especially when you've got

(04:34):
a lovely suit. Do you doknow what mean? You got to wear
this laminate ring? Getting so allthe all the boys now who work out
security in the UK, and no, I know I don't wear it,
but every now and again you geta new beion right who genuinely doesn't know
who I am. So I walkedthrough and it's actually pretty good because at
the end of the day you shouldn'tget there. I shouldn't wear a laminate.
So I just walked through as somany ye doing. It's my show,

(05:01):
it's my show, and just getout of the way. No,
no, no. And then bynow it's seen, you know what I
mean, everyone's looking over it,and then one of the like there's the
more seniors stewards just runs over. But it's all right, so they're doing
their job, really arrogant barstards. There's Frank Warrent fans everywhere at it.
You need to bed they still existed, joke, We get on, well

(05:28):
now you enjoyed. Warman comes obviouslyeasily after us and Coogan got the check
but good and went there obviously gothim in the AFL like on the zoone
on your your likes, aren't youlike? You're right? Like sort of
disbanding slowly, and then every nowand again you get back together for an
Eddy Earn just dropped this for noteaser and just be like here, brow

(05:49):
Buckson's back. We've still done it, you know what I mean exactly?
Yeah, sometimes you get bigger whenyou get you sort of you know,
come back and reinvent the will youboys? I mean if you look at
some of them, like Blue andthose Bends, you know they've actually got
a bigger now. Their tours aremuch bigger than they used to be.
So let's hope for you boys. We're celebrities in Ireland. Legadier don't know

(06:10):
if you know we are. Andobviously you've Ben Card coming up puffly in
Crug Park or you know, we'reobviously going to be rings heead, media
passes and up you that would betalking about that today to someone. And
like, I feel like, notthe the fun goes out of the business,
but when you like I live itevery day, like not every day,

(06:32):
every second, you know, andit's become so serious. I did
an interview with Coogan the other dayand I talked about days like Darren Barker
and the world title in Atlantic Cityand Kelbrook Peach Sean Poor and like I
didn't have clue what I was doingreally and that I was just I was
just a boxing fan who's been aroundboxing all my life, and it was

(06:54):
so carefulle Like we'd do the showand then we'd go out after and we'd
get pissed and like we just likewe couldn't believe that we're in We couldn't
believe we're in Atlantic see, letalone being part of the team that just
won the world middleweight title. Andnow it's so serious, there's so much
criticism, there's so much anger. There's like and it can just take you

(07:16):
know, not the wind out youa little bit sometimes, So stuff like
Croke Park That's something that at thisstage in my career really motivates me,
you know, because I feel like, and I've been thinking to myself lately
about just almost like m envisaging beingthere, you know, on that night,
with like five or six big Irishfights on the undercard, and just
to look on everyone's face and andthe sort of memories that would leave in

(07:42):
the country for Katie, for IrishSchool. I don't want to say I'm
cringe, but like that that reallyis something that motivates me, you know,
and I think if we could pullthat off, I think that would
be a night that people would rememberfor the rest of their life, because
that's really what it's about. It'sabout creating memories and experiences for people where
they just go I'll never forget that, and I think that's the kind of

(08:03):
night that we'll go down as oneof the great sporting events, not just
in Ireland, you know, butaround the world because the scenes and for
Katie as well, you know,it would be an amazing experience. Oh
close is it to being done thingsagain? Well, I mean there's there's
a couple of hurdles to overcome.Well these two really. One is the
deal with Croke Park. It isvery expensive, it's more expensive than Wembley.

(08:28):
Um, but they're helping, youknow, they are they want this
fight, so does the government,so does everybody involved. So we're getting
to a point in that deal wherewe are getting to a decent position.
Then we've got to do the dealwith Mandasarana and that deal is probably going

(08:48):
to include include the undisputed fight umat the beginning of February with Eryka Cruz
and then go into the Crop Parkfight in may So which is dangerous because
they're cruises non mug as well. But at the end of the day,
it's quite important for Serrano to getthat undisputed at once twenty six. She
really wants to do it, soshe would fight for the undisputed featherweight and

(09:09):
then move up and fight for theundisputed lightweight or within like five months.
So I'm confident I am, andlike everyone would being mad if we didn't
get it done. Mad, LikeI'd almost lose a little bit of hot
with what be doing, because sometimesyou see big fights fall through, but
he is one where it's like, you know, and because we've come from

(09:31):
a background with women's boxing where youknow, probably like five or six years
ago, one hundred grandmould have donethe tricky you know, now you're talking
about millions and it's brilliant. It'sour fault because we've pushed it so hard.
But you know, Katie deserves it. And I've never seen her so
passionate about what she wants. Youknow. Normally she's quite chill and she's

(09:54):
like, yeah, whatever you think, you know, like England or America
or but it's like you, thishas to be done now, you know.
And for years she's talked about Ireland, but she's always wanting to do
it. But she's never been thekind to kind of put her foot down
and say no, this is whatwe do. But she's almost doing them
now, and I think that's good. You know, I think everybody's got

(10:16):
to put pressure on to make ithappen. Tell me this, when you
when you're a dealing with Serrano,is it actually are you taking the Jake
file literally or is there it willbe generally it's it's Sean Barmer or Frank
talking to Nikisa, who is Jake'sbusiness department, and Jake doesn't I mean,
Jake would be involved in the dealand the numbers, and so we're

(10:37):
like, but negotiations is always aboutrelationships, you know, like me and
Jake at this point would probably notbe able to get a deal done between
us. So therefore, Sean, who's our CEO, who's very sensible and
very intelligent, and the kiser whois you know, has an accounting background
and look, you know he's verybright as well. Let them have calm

(11:00):
heads and sensible heads and get itdone. The minute the ego gets involved
and we can break a deal.We can kill a deal in a minute.
It's not difficult. It could justsay to it now We're going to
go and do everything you do,saying, but we'd all be idiots if
we didn't do the deal and stillgotta be the right deal like it.

(11:20):
That's the thing we're boxing is peoplejust presume that a deal should get made.
But at the end of the day, everyone's running a business and the
numbers have to work out. Wecan't just do it because everybody says do
it and then do a million quidon the niles or a business. Is
that so? But at the sametime, you know, the the the

(11:41):
need to make money if you likeit in an event night. This is
less because of what it means tous personally and what the look it would
give globally to the business as well. Yeah, we didn't be sorry.
I just said in terms of theUndercardaddia, if you had any thoughts of
what you think you're going to puton, yeah, loads. I mean

(12:03):
firstly, our stable will always takespriority, you know, so when you
look at that, you look atGary Club is obviously an absolute must for
the card. Keeping a jacka amust for the card. Although we don't
strictly promote Thomas Carty, you know, we work with him and he's a

(12:26):
must and I gave him my wordon that one Saturday night. I mean,
you've got the guys that aren't withus that would make sense, and
it maybe against some of the peoplewe just talked about, you know,
people like Spike O Sulliman, peoplelike Luke Keeler, people like Jason Quigley,
people like Hogan, you know, and just matching those fights up.

(12:48):
Like, if people want to geton this card, they've got to be
willing to be in fights that peoplewill remember. I'm not interested in making
ship fights on this card, andI want to make as many all Irish
fights on this card as I canas well. It's got an Irish granny,
doesn't he who Lee would? Everyone'sgonna have an Irish granny to try

(13:11):
and get on this card, youknow. But look, I want I
want Kilan to fight Spike quickly Keilerlike one of those guys, you know,
and obviously Spike wants to fight Hogan, right, But if you're not
with us, then you're not reallygoing to get your pick of who you

(13:35):
can fire. You're going to getan opportunity to be part of one of
the biggest sporting events in the historyof Irish sport and so obviously the biggest
boxing event of all time in Ireland. So um, we want to make
great fights for the card because literallyI want I just want to watch that
at nine and just see everybody outthe greatest nine. And you know,

(13:56):
to do that, you've got toget the er card right as well.
Would and Josh Madison, Leewood andMechler is that would that be feasible as
that'd fade too big? Sort of? It would be, But it's not.
You know, I think there's alwaysthe perception of, oh, you
know, Lee Woods dodging the MichaelConon remitch when he signed to fight Richio
Lara. With all due respect toMichael Connon and Colin's a great fighter,

(14:20):
but right now Lee Wood has beenall good to fight the A Santa Cruz
now renegotiations for that fight. Ifhe doesn't fight him, he's going to
fight Marichio Lara most likely, andthen if Josh Warrington wins next week,
he's going to fight Josh Warrington insummer in a big unification fight. So
it's not I think the Condon wouldremitch. He's always yeah, he's big.
Fives is one of the best fightsI've ever seen, but it's not

(14:43):
like quite honestly, it's not reallyon the agenda or the radar. Right
then, doesn't mean he wouldn't workwith Mick and he could be an option
for that card as well, butit's not one or two fights away in
out plans for Lee Woods. That'sjust something added you touched on just before
we were talking about Cruel Park. You said, like in the old days,

(15:05):
you know, it was, itwas very fun, it was new
and neither there's a lot of sortof hip and stuff. Obviously octob it
was a very tough one for youwith We're not going to get into the
kind brand stuff because you've talked aboutit a million times, but that level
of sort of federal and hip onsocial media run that sort of week or
two. Is it hard not tobring that home with you. Yeah,
I mean it was definitely. Ithink one thing you learned out of is

(15:31):
that nothing really lasts. I meanthat I still put tweets out and like
you get one in twenty games becausehe failed a drugstas is he did,
like but that's just social media. But it was it was brutal, brutal,
like and I've never really even withmy experience experience that before, Like
we've had some bad times, butthat was really bad, really bad,

(15:56):
and it just, you know,I think when you're so passionate about something,
you love something so much, likeif people genuinely knew how I feel
about a sport, and I'll giveeverything to the school and to the business.
But really, like the last thirteenyears of my life, I'm not
saying I've wasted my life because I'vehad an unbelievable time, but it's only

(16:18):
been boxing, you know, reallylike it's and I'm like that, you
know, it's all or nothing. So when you get criticized for having their
integrity or not respecting a school oryou know, then all of a sudden,
you know, we do so muchwork in a community with grass groups,
boxing clubs, and then you godown and you visit one and samples
of video, Oh this is aclear pr move to try and cover up

(16:38):
the cards. Like fuck, youknow, like so but it does it
does? You know, it goesaway, you know, not completely,
But that's just life in general.Like you know, however bad things are,
they just don't last, you know, and you just got to ride
amount. And unfortunately we're a victimof our own success. And that's what

(17:00):
it's like in this country as well, is that when you do get to
the top and you do become thatbig, it comes with this unbelievable amount
of like it's like a hate, but it's like ads hate in boxing.
I've never quite seen anything like it, you know. I talked to my
dad about it. Sometimes in here, I talk to the other sports department.

(17:21):
It's like there's nothing like it,like boxing fans. If you go,
you know, you could darts, which is just as successful as boxing
within our business. You don't likeand read and read a post a tweet
from one of the darts players. You don't get any abuse or stick.
But boxing is unreal like and Idon't know why. I can't really nail

(17:42):
why people are so unhappy, youknow, Like the boxing fans, they're
like they're so violent, like notviolent in a physical way, but just
violent in a social media way whereit's just and it's just like sometimes every
now and again, I'll get apost from something I think I know that
that handle, like I've seen thathandle a lot, and I'll go on

(18:06):
and I'll just read, like I'llread and it's like relentless every tweet that
you put out like five or sixand have you seen this? And is
doing that and like all the names, like the user names like Mattrom's dead
kill hern Like that's fine, Wow, it's amazing. Really, So yeah,
that was that was a really shittytime, really shitty time. I

(18:29):
feel like as well, we getthe blames for everything. Really, I
mean there were there were a lotof people involved in that situation. Ultimately,
our decision was led by the Britishboxing Bader Control and they took three
or four weeks to make a decision. One it ended up costing us a
million quid because of how long theywaited. And two, no one really
said to them White like, wehave a contract where we can't cancel the

(18:52):
contract, Chris, you bank Juniorcan and the board can or the board
could not sanction it. So we'rein a situation where we're waiting on the
ball, they're looking at all theinformation and then they cancel it on the
Wednesday and it's just our fault, you know. So but again that comes
with size, and that comes withyou. I wanted it, you know.

(19:12):
I didn't get in this business totry and just have fun. And
just be like part you know, just all anything to take parts nice.
I wanted to be the best andthe biggest, and unfortunately that's that's what
comes with it, so you can'tmoan, and you know, like there
will be a couple of times whereI'd've gone to the old man during that
process and gone fucking out like thattoo. It was good. I've watched

(19:33):
a interview with kell Brook actually andwith Boxing King Media and he was like,
I'm finding it really hard, youknow, since I quit boxing.
I don't I've seen it. Andhe was like saying, it's like I've
died, you know, like apiece of me dieed, and like its
very honest and quite you know,And I thought to myself, but I

(19:57):
sent him a message after I justsaid look, let's catch up, and
I couldn't believe how many people messagedme and said you're right, but I'm
just checking in, you know, which was really nice. And thankfully I
wasn't ever at a point where Iwas low enough that I really needed to
speak to people to get through thatthat dark time, but I could have

(20:19):
been, and I wouldn't have toldyou, but I'm still like, I'll
tell you now. It was horrible. But I wasn't, you know,
suicidal. I wasn't, but Icould have easily been. And I would
never have shown you like I wouldhave gone to all the meetings, all
the YouTube interviews. Yeah yeah,we're gonna do this, we're gonna do
this, and and I did,by the way, and I did go

(20:40):
back, and I was very unhappyduring that period. Like I won't lie,
but it was. It was. It's really good that that conversation has
opened up to people reaching out andsaying, like, just checking in on
him, mate. You know,it's actually quite nice when you're feeling shit
and someone says that. I think, actually people do care, because if
you look at it from the outset, no one could the fuck really like

(21:00):
that's how it makes you feel. You just think, fucking no one could
give a fuck about me, becauseyou're out there on your own, and
when you're in, when you're atthat level and the responsibilities on your shoulders,
like it is for men, you'rejust on your own. It doesn't
matter whether you've got a team orfive people or fifty people. It's on
me, Like, no one's botheredabout what anyone's doing. It's just me
phoning me on for interviews. Dothis do that? You know, you

(21:22):
get to impressed. Comes it's fortyof them, you know, oh yeah
yeah, and then all of asudden, you know, the lawyers saying
to you, you can't talk aboutthis because Connor Ben's got his case coming
up. And then you've got theseYouTubers going to, oh, well that's
out of order, you know, and I'm thinking, fucking I'll give you
my time all you know, andyou're telling me that you know. So,
yeah, it was pretty shit.Really, how do you pick yourself

(21:44):
up from up? I think hereally just have to take every day as
it comes, you know. I'veI've got to a period, probably a
couple of years ago, well,no, probably a year ago. I
just talk to myself, the workthat you're putting in, the travel that
you're doing, the stress that you'reunder. You know, you really have

(22:07):
to live better, right because otherwiseyou're going to be fucking dead in five
or ten years. You're gonna havea heart set, you're gonna lose your
mind wherever it could be. Soabout a year ago I stopped drinking.
Really, I was, what's neverlike a massive drinker anyway, but I
would always go out after a show, and if a show didn't go well,
then some day I would wake up, I'd feel shit, I'd be

(22:30):
a bit pissed off. I wouldn'tgo to the gym, and then Monday
would come around and like you know, and I just just started looking after
myself more, started trying to sleepbetter, start training a lot more,
stop drinking really, And that's helpeda lot, really, because I think
if you're not living right, allthese things can build up. That it's
tough enough anyway, but if youdon't look after your body and mind,

(22:53):
like if you do, you're you'reyou're a lot more resilient, basically to
the ship times. And I thinkwhen you are having a bad time,
you just got to take it dayby day. You've got to keep it
as simple as possible, and you'vegot to you've got to stay consistent the
way that I just tell myself, just keep doing the right things, keep
working as hard as you can, keep doing the right things. And that's

(23:15):
in any form of life. Ifyou just keep doing that, things will
be okay. And also be treatyourself to be honest. You be able
to look yourself in the mirror. But through that whole process. We kind
of been. I know that atevery junction I can look myself in the
mirror of what we did and knowthat at that point I did everything right,

(23:37):
do you know what I mean?So you're never going to please everybody,
but I do. I looked. So I've spend much too much time
on social media because I care,you know what I mean, I don't.
I don't worry about what people sayabout me, but I care about
I guess I do worry about whatpeople say that. But yeah, but
not really in a way of like, oh, it's just more like I

(23:59):
want it's for It's for what we'redoing for the sport, not me personally.
Like you can think that I'm anasshole like that. That really doesn't
bother me. But I want peopleto enjoy what we're delivering. I actually
want people to look around when I'mgone and gone. Fucking hell, he
was great for boxing, like whathe did for the sport and that,
like because my dad's got that, you know, with arts and snooker.

(24:21):
But you know, yeah, Ithink that how you just you should keep
going, don't you? Like youjust and then before you know it,
it's a week later. Everyone actuallyit's calmed down a little bit, and
then someone else breaks the story andthen it's like and then Simon Jordan says
something and I sell him to fuckoff, and then next thing, it's
like everywhere again. But you know, I think I was sort of talking

(24:44):
about a lot of people said, you know about aj when he had that
sort of implosion in a ring. It's a mad world, really, Like
there's no escape, really, likeyou imagine for me, there's no escape.
Imagine being Anson Joshua. Like he'sa thousand times better known than me,
more famous than me, you know, but even for me, there

(25:07):
isn't really any escape, you know. So you just there's people everywhere,
you know, and I remember seeingyou at the airport, you know,
recently and like bump into you andthat was all right, by the way,
he didn't bother me. But it'sjust like every every turn there's someone
in your like talking about boxing orwhat it will do, you know,
And it's like, I think whenyou live that life like Anson Joshua,

(25:30):
it's such a normal guy. Thereis absolutely no escape. It's not it
really isn't the greatest life, youknow. I mean, people talk about,
oh yeah, but he's you knowhe's got all that money. I
think he'd give it all away justsometimes just to be a normal guy.
Go to the part with your mates, play a bit of football, boys
around play FIFA. Just got upcosta for a coffee like without because and

(25:52):
he gives everybody at their time,so and like like say even for me,
you know that that was a heerodwhere got for a sandwich? And
it's like next thing, you're inthe cafe and there's thirty people want to
talk about fry Aj and and thenyou know you've just come out of the
press conference and there's you've just donefall to YouTube interviews and then you get
back on a train and it's like, yeah, what do you think about?

(26:15):
What's you picture? Mate? Butlisten, they're there the customs and
I'm never not given my time. But it's you know, when things are
going bad, listen if you're smashingthe shoves and everything's unbelievable and people are
asking you questions. But when it'slike when you do fury Aj where you
get out on the fore call fillingyour card Petre you next thing you know,

(26:37):
truck pulls out, Oh there youwang when fucking cho fury is going
to smash aga. I've always doinglovely put it in going a shot and
what's that? Have a corner bend? Fucking he can we have a photo?
Yeah, well last one? Andit's like getting the cars go because
deally, mistress and pressure is allabout like your resistant letters, your resistance

(27:00):
levels and how high they can be. Like some people just can't deal with
it. And the air resistance levelsare here and someone's are up here,
but obviously the more stressing here andwhen you and when you're right there,
those little things driving fucking man.All of a sudden, you might go
out and make a cup of teaand there's no tea beans, and it's
the fucking biggest disaster in the world, you know. I remember speaking to

(27:22):
Mark Cavendish, you know, thecyclist on my podcast, and he suffered
badly with depression and he said thesmallest things were driving me overall, just
like that. You know, he'dgo out there'd be no spoons in the
drum and it's like, oh fuckingthere's no spoons, And that's because we
keep you know you're there, whenyou're down here, you know you're there's
no spoon whatever else. I cando it my finger if you want to.
Don't get it. But next thing, it can be the biggest problem.

(27:45):
So, you know, I thinkit's good that people are talking about
it. You know, I thinkwe also got or established that the difference
between mental health and a bad dador a bad time. You know,
like my old man, if youspoke to him about mental health, I
mean, he's getting a bit better. But a fix is just allo,
it's complete, Like what what isit? What is getting under the world?

(28:07):
You know, I'm like no,no, like people no I said,
I said to him, you know, through that kind of ben thing
that was tough then shout out mantough. You know, I'm like no,
I was pretty low love some matterof you. You know. That's
that's that's it's always moving with mydad. You know, well dad,
you know it's got pressure. Pressure. Did you know about pressure? You

(28:29):
you know, but that's to him, it just don't exist. You're just
having a bad day. You know, you have a bad day. Tomorrows
all right, So you know, but we do have to establish a difference
between it because I think too manypeople talk about you know, we have
not every day's a great day.You can have ship days. Ship at
times doesn't mean that you're mentally weakor you've you've got depression, but obviously

(28:52):
it's it's a real thing and itexists somebody him as well. You can
you can never win because you touchedon with it j though. People were
saying, Oh, you're too mediatryand you're not showing your humans said,
and then after the sick feet wherehe breaks down because of years and years
of extreme pressure, like you said, the fancies flattered and then he breaks
down, and then other whole wordsagainst them nice and you shouldn't have blah

(29:15):
blah blah, but he's just shouldthat, he's just legos. I couldn't
believe what I saw. It wasn'treally the stuff in the room. It
was more at the press comments liketo see him cry in public, But
if you knew, like now himbehind line, this is the guy who's
got the bravest face like you wouldn'the would never want to do that in
public, like he always wants toinspire people, keep it positive, like

(29:40):
you know, And I couldn't.I was sitting next to him, and
I just I felt so sorry forhim because I just I knew for a
few years now that he'd been strugglingwith that said, the pressure, but
the expectations, and you can havesuch pure intentions, but honestly, he
ain't got a bad bone in hisbody. And see, Joshua, he's

(30:03):
got the purest intentions to inspire people, to make people feel good, like
his energy and his positivity when hewalks in the room. And to see
him like open up like that,I think it was. I think it's
good for him to be honest withyou, because the worst thing you can
do is hold it all in,you know. And just like I said
earlier, you can give that impression, and I can give that impression,

(30:26):
and you could go home at nineand cry so to sleep, no one
ever know. And I think itwas really good for him and for the
world to see that. And Iactually think that, you know, weirdly,
the more success you have, themore money you have, the more
fame you have, I can actuallybring you even more problems. Like people,

(30:48):
there's a lot to be said aboutan easy life, you know,
like and I usually think the otherone I would have said, no,
no, no. The more moneyyou got, like, the more you're
smashing it, the more it getseasy. Then he actually, I think
it goes the other way, andpeople who might might not be in a
position might be listening to this gameshouts up. But life becomes almost like

(31:11):
sometimes more complicated. You know, you're putting these barriers up. Life just
becomes a little bit unrealistic. You'renot really you know, you've got these
people working for you all the time. You're not really allowed to do anything.
You can't go out and you can'tdo that, so you get him
shoved into cars like backdoor entrances, and like people are following you in other
cars and not many, but ajyou know, and like that obviously that's

(31:37):
I don't think that's much of alife really even and people don't realize that
even for you out either because likeyour you're feem would be fair to say
not even just through nor contact turnbut there's probably a point ground, Like
twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen, it'sstarted changing there, like a different level
of fem altogether. Like one ofour favorite videos in our group chat as
you get the Starbucks can run yea, and it was a pad to see

(32:00):
if the dragon asia and they deadand Ragnizer, like I've all thought,
if you're done that night it wouldbe a different result. But does that
change? Like you you're speaking thereabout you're at the when you're in the
padal steers and stuff, would younot I avoid go on? Like would
you just go in the sound ralLondon for the day? Yeah? Cool,
I'm at the time. I can't. I can't again not not sunding

(32:21):
like getting because I'd rather it wasn'tthe case. I can't believe how many
people recognize me, like and noteveryone bothers me or anything, but like
you just see it. And theremarkable thing is that people almost act like
you're not there. That's that's that'sthat easy there, like literally like quite
enough of you, you know, like what's his name? Sometimes or the

(32:42):
other times it's like straight away andI'm a big lamp as well, and
everyone says the same thing. Ididn't know news a big as the first
thing. But like like I wasin the I was in the gym,
so I just joined this gym downthe road and I got this but conditioned
trains and literally I was on thebench list. I was like this and

(33:05):
some gas has just come over andgone Eddie and he chis with photo.
Like literally I'm like and I'm like, uh, yeah, man, yeah,
and he's been like over and he'sjust got the h and I just
thought to myself, Wow, there'sonly one person I regret. Actually,

(33:28):
I've only ever said no to aphoto once, and I remember it.
I was injured by it, andI was with my daughters and I was
in a terrible mood, so Ican't remember what happened. They were the
playing them or whatever, and likeliterally, I'm walking to a restaurant room
and this bloke's just come over andhe's gone, Eddie, Eddie, get
a photo. We'll get a photo. And I just went, oh,
they not now I'm with my kids, do you know what I mean?
And I thought, but I actuallyfelt bad after. But that is one

(33:52):
thing, like people don't care whoyou with, like they just know.
But you know, I suppose it'smy thought because I wanted to get into
a position where almost like we wereor I was the face of boxing outside

(34:12):
of the real boxing. But Ijust looked at Dane and White, and
I looked at Vince McMahon. Ilooked at all those successful organizations and felt
like there is there's always a figurehead, you know, there's a spokesman for
the sport. And to do that, I have to raise my profile to
a point where I can't just doCoogan, you know, I have to
go on the terrestaurant TV shows andleave their own like fucking talk shows channel

(34:37):
for ITV and TQ and like allthese different things. And it worked,
it worked, but you know,it's it has changed things a lot for
me. But I still don't ordo you have a lay foots in a
boxing like the god of my life? Boxing is my life. You know.
People always say to me, whatdo you do to relax or on

(35:00):
mind? I really couldn't tell youbecause I've done, Like I don't play
play golf twice a year. Iused to play once a week. You
know obviously you know family and stufflike that, but you don't really even
have time for that. And it'swe've got to show a week really,

(35:24):
so even today, the whole daytoday and just planning January, February,
March April, and it's UK,US, Mexico, Italy, Spain,
Australia, Middle East like, andit's just plotting all these like what we've
done the Actually, that's one thingthat pieces me off a little bit is

(35:47):
I don't think. I look atwhat we do right and the level of
what of where we're operating, andeven people don't really realize what we're doing,
or they just don't really want togive us the credit because you know,

(36:07):
we were in Brisbane a couple ofweeks ago, then the next week
we're in Mexico. Then we're inamber Davia and we're just coming off the
back of Canelo Triple G. Thenwe've done Dillion White last week. Then
we're doing a Strata Trumper Tito, then we're back for Leeds like Cleveland in
the middle of it all. Butit's never been done before, Evan,
And sometimes I'm like, and Idon't mean to be disrespectful to other shows,

(36:32):
but I'm watching other shows, particularlyin the UK, and I'm looking
at the undercots and the standard andlevel of fights, and I'm thinking,
fuck me, if I put thaton, I will get absolutely destroyed.
I mean, look again, Ihave no problem with Sky Unboxing that I

(36:52):
watched the show of Estiday on Sundayon scott and I don't slag off O,
but I'm watching it thinking if thatwas my show, I would be
absolutely abused. For two weeks runon social media. I'm sorry I would,
but even on Yeah, we everyDillion White fight at the last four

(37:16):
years, five years has been onpay per view. Right last Saturday,
we put him in with Jermaine Frank. There's a really good fight already on
the undercard, a really good cardlost Craig Riches, but still like he's
off pay per view. It's likeand it's it's like, oh, this
is shit. It's like, whatthe fuck? Even the stratotopol to go

(37:37):
for you looking two husbands, whattwo fucking pound for pound legends and sports
anyway, I like, I likepeople to patting me on them back and
say the fucking world like, don'tget me wrong, as much the bad
you know, the bad times gettingcriticized, there's nothing like people patting on
the back saying world done. ButI look at what we do and I've

(37:57):
just never seen him done before andI don't think it'll be done again,
to be honest with you. Sobut I'm a I'm a bit of a
sick fucker, Like I just can'tstop, really, and I just I'm
so driven to win and I won't. I definitely won't do it forever.
Definitely like, and I won't bedoing it for a long how long do

(38:19):
you think, I mean, it'scertainly beyond five years, you know,
But I don't. I just don't. This business makes you a bad person,
like and not you know, ina in a in an illegal way,
but in a way of just yourmood, like I think physically as

(38:45):
well, like and I look atall these guys, like, you know,
you have to remember, I'm inright now, I'm in the office.
This was my lounge growing up.When I was growing up in this
house, my dad was a boxthe moment right he had now Bruno as

(39:06):
I'm like, he was massive. He was so fucking miserable when he was
doing boxing. He's tempo was horrendous. He's attitude like, he's every like,
I can't tell you what a differentperson he was then when he left
boxing. He's like, right now, you never meet a happier bloke,

(39:29):
right And every now and again hecomes in here and he would say as
he came in and I'll go fuckAnd he would look at me as if
to go, mate, I've beenthere, and where we're at is ten
times a level that he was atwhen he was doing it. And I
look at Warren, and I lookat Aaron, and I just seeking fuck
that, because I'm going to havea much better time when I'm out of

(39:53):
boxing in my life, you know, I know I might not have the
side then, right, but mylife, my quality of life will be
much better. You've seen me smilinga little more inside because you've seen me
smiling on the outside or side anyway. But so therefore you can't just do

(40:14):
it because you can't let me,you know, because at the moment sometimes
I'm doing it because I ain't justgonna fucking let them in. But I'm
forty three, so I make thesacrifices, do you know what I mean?
So, but at the end ofthe day, I know that when

(40:34):
I'm done, I'm have a greattime coming off Instagram, coming off Twitter.
Yeah that's true. Yeah that's true. Yeah, or maybe for a
couple of months. But but youknow, you're just it's just you just
don't do the normal things, youknow, and but you make sacrifices,
like you gotta ask yourself, ifyou want to be at the top level

(40:55):
of what you do, you haveto make sacrifices. And sacrifices that I
have to make are knock my bulletsout every single day. Physically, I'm
fucked a lot of the time, mentally, emotionally all of that. Sometimes
I'm dan had dump, sometimes i'mnot. Sometimes I'm arguing, sometimes I'm
not. Sometimes I'll sleep ten hoursa week. But that's the sacrifice.

(41:17):
You can't be at the top levelwithout it. So you're either going to
do that, or you're going tobe mediocre, or you're not going to
do it at all. So Ichoose it. I'm not asking anyone to
feel sorry for me, but itjust comes with it, and I know
that ultimately when it's all gone, yeah, I'll miss it because I'm miss
winning and I watch other people growingfights and I think fun if I was
still doing it, I'll just smissionto pieces. But once once that goes

(41:42):
like that, you have to enjoyyour life. And if I did this
like Warren and Aaron and got toseventy ninety on my deathbed, I would
look back and go, fuck, you should have got out of me,
you know so, so I definitelywould. And he has three, you
know fans from the Sounds, andwe are thankful for you. Obviously,
it changed the landscape of the sportscertainly I'm not going yet at least I

(42:12):
was got a bet or beautiful andthen do a very young When I do
my retirement speech, people will comeout like you and go just say,
I know we're never going into credit, but well, I, oh BlimE
me, you actually do like me? No, stay, got see before
we're liked goal as well, daddie. It's got to like potential fate for
twenty twenty three. We've seen Shelleythink Will commented about Deante Wayler want the

(42:35):
fed ag next? Do you think, because obviously you were saying, aj
wait Feton, is that going tostill be the keys or I mean he's
publicly all of a sudden, they'vejust come out and know that with that,
so I don't know whether that's serious, whether that's they're trying to push
the rees by or they're just tryingto guess him. I think you know,
if Anthy Joshua was at a stagein his career where he was just

(43:00):
like, well, let's have afew big fights and you know then I
mean when he accepted the Tyson Furyfight. And I don't say this because
people think, oh, then youmust have killed the fight, but I
was thinking to myself. You know, you've just come off the USI fight.
We saw what happened after that fire. Physically you've got some niggles.

(43:22):
But he just took the bait, you know, and he was just like,
fuck it. I'm you know, this is my chance to fight Fury.
I'll do it. So now we'renot like I always thought, off
the USICK fight, have one, maybe two, get back in the rhythm.
Now we know that it's quite likelyyou may have a new training team
in place again for January. Sofor me, I see him having a

(43:43):
fight before Deontae World, you know, and that could well be Dillion White,
you know. Or I may speakto show your thinking and say that
you want to do Deontay Wild wereagainst Dillion White, and then to fight
the order to win a fight's agent, you know, because I'd still love
to see Deonta World against Dillion. Why I starts to be a part of
the build up, you know. But AJ's got like he's still got time,

(44:07):
He's got improvements to me, youknow, and sometimes you just gotta
believe in yourself. Like Saturday Nightwas a good fight. But I did
say to AJ when I was sittingthere, look you realize the level that
you box at, Like, youknow, you have to say that you've
been fighting at a higher level thanthese two guys, right that there's in
my opinion, you know, Iput Dillian White right up in the top

(44:28):
sort of five or six in theheavyweight provision. But I do feel like
aj Ousick and Fury they are youknow, And sometimes you can get down
and disappointed to lose to Alexander Us, but you know, it ain't the
greatest shame in the world to loserelatively close fight. Then the second fight,

(44:50):
you know, after nine rounds,I thought we're going to win the
fight. M So he's an elite, heaveryone, he really is, and
I think that he's got time andhe's so in That was bet. I
know every fight fan would like tosee his twenty twenty three look like White,
Wilder Fury, and it may do, but I'm not, you know,
I just want to see him happy, enjoying boxing and and love him

(45:12):
what he does. And he loveshe loves boxing, Like that's something we've
all got income you guys, me, aj we love boxing because I wouldn't
do it if I didn't. Reallylike nothing makes me feel like boxing.
You know, my daughter started atthe amateur boxing club. She's ten.
That is like that that makes mefeel better than doing a stranga chocolic deta
when I'm in there. Honestly,I swear to God, I'm in there.

(45:37):
I'm watching it. I'm watching theother kids. I went to the
gym show the other week because itmakes you realize this why you fall in
love with the sport. You don'tfall in love with the sport because you're
trying to negotiating, sucking a fightthat falls through, and you know you're
having this interview and that interview andhe's slagging him, like, that's not

(45:57):
what you're fall in love. Thatyou fall in love with sport because the
enjoyment you get when you when youplay it, you're watching, you're anticipating.
It's got nothing to do with money. It's got nothing to do with
opinion, it's got nothing to dowith politics. It's got to do with
the love of the sport. Andthat you always have to keep that.
I'm just being around. That's whatyou've always seen me. Sit down the
first fight at the night, notbecause I think it's my fight, A

(46:20):
better go out and watching. Ijust love it four round, six rounds,
twelve round And also people forget I'vebeen in this sport for thirty five
years, sitting in changing room, watching head work, watching fights, seeing
people cry, celebrate, get injuredevery I've seen everything in this sport,
you know, and and I loveit. And that's also why it's hard

(46:40):
when you get in criticism, becausepeople genuinely think you don't care about the
sport, you know. So,yeah, I don't remember where we were
getting, but I sort of agreewere in the sense that they're looking at
agin, looking at them as vulnerable. At the man because of obviously after
the second new sick fed and hewill make criticize me for senness. But
I feel like, if you're inlimbo of you're treeining team, you've obviously

(47:05):
had two really hard fight against way, aren't you load to rebuild yourself and
learn new think one hundred percent.I think that that's a classic example of
just a public opinion that they don'tlook out for you, so you have
to look out for the fire. But I never went to a j when
he accepted the fury fight went ohmate, I don't think that because he

(47:28):
was by then he was just committedand I don't want to put any negativity
in his mind or make him second. I just say to him one hundred
percent, let's do it. Yeah, if you already mate with your answer,
But let's be honest. In asensibly world, why wouldn't you have
a fight facet But you can fillout any arena ever on be any stadium.
And by the way, the fightis not going to be like some

(47:51):
bloat you've never heard of. It'sgoing to be could be Dillian White,
could be Otto Wilding, you know, it could be like there's proper like
there's still proper fights. But Ijust want to see him enjoying it.
Again. You don't need the money, you know. It doesn't mean that
he's going to fight for nothing. But it's not really about that. It's
just about I want him to enjoyboxing, because I don't think he's been
enjoying his boxing. It's come withtoo much pressure too. But that's why

(48:15):
with the belts everything. When hehad the belts, it's like boh,
let's STI commandagerm right, So ohyou've got to fight Pevekin. That was
the first one, or even beforethen. Next thing, he's getting twenty
five percent and talk about game, purse speeds, blah blah blah, and
then he fights Peveki knocked him out, love boom, you gotta fight poulap
right. Oh here, this timehe gets thirty five percent and it's like

(48:37):
you never have the freedom. Andthat's why you only see him box twice
a year because there's negotiations and thishappened was that balls through then it goes
to purse beards and so he justwith the belt. It was more like
a frustration and gone fight, likeshe want to fight. I don't want
the belt, I don't want tobe on disputed, but I just I
just want to That's what the keyto get him active. So he must

(48:58):
fight three times year and literally thefirst day I think we'll be announced probably
next week, so looking forward toeinghim back in the ring. And make
no mistake, he's a serious fire, serious fighter in a heavyweight division and
everybody's dangerous. Why at that time, Eddy, before we let you go,
can you just ram off some ofthe cities next year that we're going

(49:20):
to see much from d shows, because then all you're not going to get
there. So Nottingham, Newcastle,New York. This is like the early
stages of the year. UM Melbourne, Guadalajara, Belfast. No, but
Dublin, obviously you know that'd beenmade Abu Dhabi, UM Sheffield, London,

(49:50):
UM San Antonio, Las Vegas.I mean, you know, I'll
I mean I think one day we'lllook back and going fucking this was nuts,
you know, and I don't knowwhy I am. It's quite funny.
Someone tweeted, he goes the onlyone, the only person who cares

(50:12):
about this fucking global plan of EddieEarns. He's Eddie Earned. You know,
it's like what's where's my UK shows? You know it's bigger than it.
You know, there's a world outthere. When we go to recently
in Brisbane and recently Mexico City,I'll get a lot more fucking loved there.
Jesus Christ, you're sure about makingme feel good. They're all over

(50:36):
me, Eddie. We can't believeyou've bought box in here. Thank you,
thank you, you know. AndI'll get in Phoenix. You're seeing
Phoenix. They'll go mad for meand I'll turn on the fucking memory of
England. They're all France. There'smadness. Has all started from a booker
tip of Audley Harrison never met him. Well, Addie as always, thank

(51:00):
you so much for time. Youknow you're trying to make the Canalo MESSI
faith so yeah, I've had I'vehad reporters out today and it's like,
what do you think about that?I'm like, do you think that MESSI
was genuinely wiping the floor with themere bang in trouble, you know,
I was like, no idea,I have no idea. What do you

(51:22):
think? What's the next step?Appreciate your time Eddie and the boys on
like these other two unfortune this week. Thank you well guys, that's up

(51:43):
far episode with Eddie Hearn. Thanksa millim for listening. We had a
little brick for a couple of weeks. Well turned in a couple of months,
but but we're back and we'll beback with Lisa. Thank you for
listening and tuning again for another veryspecial guests. It's time, but I
