(00:00):
Oh oh my goodness, Hello folks, and welcome back to the Brawl Barks
and Podcast. I'm Karen McCord andI'm joined by co host Colin mcgwigan and

(00:23):
Rand McLoughlin. Well, guys,we're delighted to have this next guest on.
I don't about chasing to get himactually message this culture a few weeks
ago and I think he's miss ourname and didn't reply. So have you
been in to Sam Jones, dredSo thanks for melling, Sam Jones for
linking us up. So please welcomeonto the show. Jack Carroll, Jack,
how you doing it? Very well? Thank you? Yeah, nice
one for loving me on and yeah, all is well, just cracking on.

(00:47):
You said you said you've got threescreens set up there. Yeah,
so missus his settled her office athome, so I've not been in a
computer, say at school, whichhe's got three screens here to work at
all. You've got a lot tolive up to because Sam Jones says that
he's the best guest we've ever hadon. I was at actually a propel
him at Liverpool at the event.Sam's always gonna say that. But we'll

(01:10):
love Ago, We'll love about beatinghim as always, you're not working them
brutal bones that he was. We'reall many views as Sam's video got over
a thousand. Easy, Yeah, you can do it, Jack and any
guests. We'll have one for thefirst time just for the viewers. Were
always like to sort of go backto the start. Obviously you grew up

(01:30):
just like Man's Yester, isn't it. Yes. I live in Chola,
about thirty minute drive from Manchester, born and raised in Chola, so like
uprounder obviously, well certainly Man's Yes, they're Liverpool in northwest there there is
a huge, huge boxing scene.Um was it something you wanted to do
from a young age, like didyou like football? Did you like other

(01:51):
sports or was it always boxing foryou? So I was never interested in
football, No, not from amassive football family. Will I live there
wasn't There wasn't many other activities apartfrom the boxing gym. Before boxing used
to travel out to Wigan and variousplaces to do other combat sports. So
I've done a bit of wrestling, bit of judo and you had to be

(02:14):
ten years old to start boxing atCharlie Boxing Club, so it was it
was up until I turned ten.I had been down there nine and a
half and he said, come backwhen you're ten, because it was just
a lot of pressure being from abig family and having brothers and sisters and
having to have your parents to takeyou out of time for these these classes.
I realized it was a bit ofpressure, but no. As soon

(02:36):
as it turned ten, I wasdown to the amateur boxing gym and that
was it. Then everything else gotknocked on ahead and it was it was
boxing all the way, jo andwrestling. You're staying away to listen to
this. He'll try and get intothe UFC because with that boxing ability mixed
for them two and you're probably cleanup. Yeah. I don't know if
you can find me a YouTuber maybe, but yeah. I enjoyed the wrestling
and the judo. But after abit of time, guess it maybe because

(03:00):
it was quite young, it wasn'tphysical enough. I understand, we're boxing,
you practice drills day and day out, but it just felt like too
repetitive for me. As soon asI went down to the boxing do I
think on the first day I puta head guard on and he said right
with spiring, So I was like, wow, this is for me.
Judo was actually hard, you know, like whenever I was in school.
So I was like, probably likenine ten, your seminary is to what

(03:23):
you were. And I started boxingat the time. My uncle said,
I mean, I'll come to thejudo gym. I want you to learn
judo. And I went and theyput me in a fight with a girl,
honestly, in front of this isno word of a light, in
front of so many people. Iwas freaking out right. The first ever
judo fight, she beat me,put me on my horse, she was
in my Classone just slammed me forever, the worst thing every Yeah. So

(03:50):
Jack, obviously, like a lotof people, we have spoke to you.
I remember we had front then onand he actually he said you were
the one of the most naturally caldedboxers he'd ever seen. He says like
like you would stay behind and I'msure he said there's a few times,
but you would stay behind and whatcho spar and stuff, and he would
never really do that for other fighters. When you first started boxing, were
you just a natural talent or wasit like was a rocky start? You

(04:12):
know, I wouldn't say I wasnaturally talented, and I don't believe I
guess you get some fighters that andactually talented, but I think for me
it was more of the consistency andthe hard work over the years. I
always had a passion for boxing, but there were times in the amateur career
and burning mind and never boxer Gbingnever boxed for England. But I did
love boxing, but I also lovedother physical activities to enjoy running, swimming,

(04:36):
biking, being outdoors. But itwasn't until the term professional that I
really dedicated myself, not that itwasn't dedicated, but really put all my
eggs in the boxing basket. Andand he said, you know what,
I'm gonna have to study fighters.I'm gonna have to watch videos and really
knuckle down and practice the stuff thatthat you need to become a good fighter.

(04:58):
The amateur record wasn't brilliant, butnonetheless I enjoyed the experience fighting through
them, which is but I alwaysbelieved my style was more suited to the
professional ranks. Was it was ittough as well? Obviously you get to
the age fifteen sixteen, everyone's startingto drink, like all your mates are
going out their partying. Like whatI respect a lot about boxers is like

(05:19):
Obviously getting in the ring and fightingis one thing, like that's incredible,
but the dedication, like you missout on a lot, especially growing up
in your in your twenties and evenyounger than that, was that tough for
you to sort of stay away fromthem, Timpa, Since you know what,
I can't say it was tough.I've got a good group of friends
and I've got a good family. And don't get me wrong, there has

(05:39):
been times over the years were especiallythese last couple of years in Lockdown,
but you constantly go into the gym. But I love being in the gym.
If I'm not training for something ordoing an event or running our boxing,
I feel a bit lost. SoI need that that goal, that
purpose to do that. But outsideof fighting, I enjoy being in the
gym, being fit, staying active. But again, yeah, there is

(06:00):
times where you think you met soall out meet girls and I've got a
Friday night, you've got to goto the gym. And being from a
big family, a couple of myyounger brothers fight now, so he's trying
to explain to them. Look, you're like they're going on lads all day.
As the seventeen eighteen to go outdrinking. The weather's being nice,
to be a garden's open. It'slike you have to make that decision.

(06:24):
Now you're gonna because unless you've comefrom the Olympics, there's not a lot
of money in the start off withboxing, So it's are you gonna go
and get a nine to five andthen somebody you're going to be brought for
a couple of years and sacrificed topotentially hopefully have a good career in boxing.
Yeah. I suppose for them though, like they've got you to look

(06:45):
up to, like you've you've madeit, like you're not at the top
top level of boxing, you knowwhat I mean. Whereas I suppose for
you it was almost like a pipedream in a sense. You know,
you're like, is this dedication worthit? Like like all these sort of
not wasting your teenage years missing outon all these things, and you're thinking,
can I actually make a career outof this? So it's maybe you
would be inspirational for them to seethe things that you're doing. Of course

(07:08):
it is, I hope. Soso I got down to the to the
local amateur gyms and chain with thekids and see the kids and hopefully.
I mean, I don't know ifit does, but gives them some type
of inspiration to follow the dreams andstay dedicating and stay in the gym and
keep practicing. I've made a lifenow from boxing, and we come from
a small town. But there's anumber of boxers doing it and that I've

(07:30):
done it in the past, sohopefully can keep trending. And who was
it for you to give you thatinspiration then? As you were growing up,
was there was there certain boxers thatyou like the water or watched obviously
maybe even just in family, interms of your own family, you know,
I always had a passion for boxing. I can't say there's a particular
fighter that I thought, right,I want to be like him. I

(07:50):
want to I want to achieve whathe's achieved. But I just enjoyed the
boxing. But for me, itwas always making a plan. So initially
to college, got a college isit a degree? And then as soon
as I left college, A turnedprofessional in the September twenty and twelve.
But at a plan in ahead,I'm going to give boxing five years.

(08:13):
It fails, I'm still young enoughto get an apprenticeship learner trade and the
five years have passed, I pickedup some good wins again. I made
another three year plan right go forthis, and it was always about being
smart, thinking ahead and knowing thatyou know what. It is a tough
spot and I'd hate to be inthe position where I've exhausted everything in boxing

(08:33):
and I've got nothing to fall backon. Was there any moments during that
spab where you're you're setting them goalsthat you sort of had a bit of
adversity where your releg you know what, I'm done with us, and then
that support network around just sort ofrelegional I know, brought your back into
it because I know obviously a lotof high level athletes it's not like playing
sailing. There's going to be likea lot of leg a lot of ruggy

(08:54):
moments. And did you have themyourself when you were coming through. Yeah.
And it's strange because Devin Rocky momentshave been in the last fifteen months
before me last fight. I'm numberone mandator for the WO but I've been
manager for that long. Wasn't gettinga fight, the form, wasn't ringing,
was in lockdown, going to thegyman. You're thinking how much longer

(09:16):
can I physically do this for therewere no certainty fights were getting pulled.
I mean before that were fighting quiteregular, so I was happy he was
in the gym training the phone rings, got a fight, never turned down
a fight before. But I'm nowon the phone to the managers promoters ringing
what's going on, and I wasn'tgetting a clear answer. We had a
baby girl just over a year ago, so now that's got a family to

(09:39):
provide for you just think. So, yeah, last year was difficult,
but again, like you said,it was the people Jamie and Nigel,
other family members and the team thatI keep around me that that kept the
motivation in me. I'm highly motivatedanyway, but you surround yourself with good
people, it makes it that biteasier. See that's a bit of an

(10:00):
inspiration that that gives to people, because you could have quit her and then
look what's happened in the last twelvemonths, like, well, obviously get
to it the obviously what it's allabout. The decision that everyone's been speaking
about in boxing. It's probably themost talk about thing in boxing over the
past twelve months. But before that, like you, you didn't know that
was literally just around the corner, like you show how good you showcased how
good you were, and now obviouslyeveryone in the world knows who you are.

(10:22):
And if you just gave up,like literally with a few months before
that, that never would have happened. Yeah. I was meant to fight
for the WBL title, got itbe in twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
and there was that many road blocksof hurdles and the situations where I got
fucked to the side. It waslike, is it ever going to happen?
Yeah, but again, great coaches, great family, great friends,

(10:46):
stared in the gym not knowing what'swhat's going to happen, and then get
the phone call and I know thatI've been working for that fifteen months.
I can't think of a time whereI was out the gym for longer than
a couple of days. So forme, it was like, Wow,
thank for that. Talk to meabout that, Jim, because to me
from the outside looking in, itjust seems like it's so good to be

(11:07):
a part of that gym. LikeI see obviously we see everything on social
media with Joel and Jamie and itlooks like it's old batter all the time.
But you do really go hard onthere. It looks as if you've
got a really good setup. Howis it for you? It's brilliant.
So I'm quite fortunate that the gym'sonly sixteen miles from where I live.
A lot of fighters over the lastcouple of years, Tommy Kyle, Frampton

(11:31):
Chantel fighters traveling over from abroad,So I think that speaks volume how fat
people are traveling and making living arrangementsto come and train, and for me,
it's on my doorstep. But likeyou said, we all know social
media is not to be all theend, all of everything. We do
have a laugh in the gym.Everyone's got a great relationship and everyone bounces

(11:54):
off each other. But I thinkif you look at the success the gym's
had over the last five or tenyears and the fighters that have been involved
in big fights, that speaks foritself. And obviously we're going to get
onto the fight. But I thinkI was at the ring for fifteen months,
but I had Jamie Nigel and otherteam members and we was working every

(12:16):
day towards that fight, and Ithink I approved again that I've chose the
right team to train us for thesenights. Yeah, I'm sure I'm sure
everyone listening is like, when thefuck he is going to bring up the
fight? So when may as well? We has no more time. Like
leading up to that fight, Jack, there was a lot of people who
thought that, Like everyone who heardHonel did you were you hadn't been in

(12:39):
at that maybe at that level, certainly not against a pound for a pound,
you know, top five pound fora pound. A lot of people
didn't give you a chance. Likeone of the ones who did, like
we as I said, we hadCarlon and he spoke about it and he
was like, if there's anyone cando it, it is Jack Hadderall.
But like most people the boxing werelet to be honest, who weren't giving
you a shot? What was itlike in the lead up that you Was

(13:00):
there a part of you being like, you know what, I'm going to
fucking prove everyone wrong here? Orwas it? Did it put any doubt
in your head? Obviously it doesn'tseem like that from how you performed.
What was there any doubt in yourhead? I think there were times when
I doubt, But like you justsaid, I appreciate everyone's got an opinion
and the writing having that opinion.I guess only I know how I fight

(13:22):
or I perform and the stuff Ido day in doubt. But to the
wider audience, Josh's being world championhas cleaned up the division. He's collected
all about I've not had a worldtitled fight of yet to have been in
with an elite fighter, so allthe comments that people making were full in
my perspective, but it kind ofI've got thick skin, so kind of

(13:43):
like can push all that to oneside. I had a job to do,
and the more the people were writingus off, and I think that
just fueled the fire to give meextra motivation. In that period waiting for
the fight. Head and daughter wejust spoke about once the form and I'm
going I've been waiting that long.It was like I just couldn't wait to
get in the ring. And Ialways looked at it as I'm going up

(14:07):
to Scotland. The pressure was onJosh, and I think he's probably said
that after the fight, right, write me off far enough, But I
knew. I knew deep down thework that I had done, how hard
to work for the fight, andthe level that had been performing at in
the gym. I know it's adifferent scenario when you're on Fight Nite.
But I was always confident going intothat fight wouldn't see in the in the

(14:31):
league. Obviously, before like fightwas sort of announced, there was a
lot of respect between you two.You stepped aside to let the on the
speted fight happened, like Jaws seemedvery respectful of that, but it seemed
like as a fight are closure, there was like a lot of needle.
It was like some of it likethey seem like it was coming from Josh's
side, Like I don't know ifhe felt that you weren't done his level

(14:52):
or whatever it was, or thepressure was just getting to him of a
big domestic bossed up. But doyou know why that was? That they're
starting to form a needle, justas in the months leading up. Yeah,
So, like you said, Iwent to watch Taylor Ramirez. I
was the first person to congratulate Joshafter the fight, and I always said

(15:13):
I was kind of put in aposition where I had to step aside.
That wasn't ideal for me, buthe'd happened, and Josh was a man
of his word and said, look, once the fight's happened, I'd give
you a fight, so and ithappened. And I think leading up to
the fight, we went on apress tour where the press conferences a lot
of zoom interviews, etc. AndI was always respectful, but that's the

(15:37):
way I've always carried myself. Joshwas a is a great fight, so
I had nothing bad to say abouthim. I was comfortable beating him.
And I think that's what kind ofover the months leading up to the fight
kind of got under his skin becausehe couldn't get a reaction at me.
He couldn't get a bite at me. We see with Ramirez and the previous
fights, he's always firing and hotheaded, and maybe that works for him.

(15:58):
But he said to me, missusand my family got a big fight.
I don't need to change nothing.I've kind of proved her to the
younger generation, the kids, Look, you don't have to be a big
talker. If you work hard, you're going to get to where you need
to be without acting daff and beinga social media clown. The fight gets

(16:19):
close, so he's not got areaction at me at all, and I
think people said, well, itswitched at the way and they kind of
seen that as as I had lostmy temper. But the way I looked
at him was we'd had the fightweek, everything had been fine. Again,
he's no reaction, He's getting woundup. Wound up. As he
comes off the stage for the way, there was no security. Three,

(16:41):
he marches straight over and kind oflike puts his head on me. So
that was kind of like the finalCALUMERA have pushed him back, and but
like that's fine, but you don'tcome over and put your head on me.
And that was the only point whereI wouldn't say I'd given to him.
I just let him know. Look, you say what you want,
but you don't come of him andput your head on me. I remember

(17:02):
watching the gloves are off, andyou were scurely calm, as in Josh,
you could tell kind of maybe thatwas his personalities, a bit hot
headed. I think he would sayat himself, he's very erratic in his
behavior, whereas you just sat still, looked at him, talk to him
like you're talking the us now.And I think probably at that point that's

(17:22):
when it Kenneth switch for me.Anyways, I've seen the different side to
him again, because he was tryingto rail you up at that point.
Do you feel like that added intohis decision making on the night, definitely.
I think I spent a full daythough with Josh in different rooms at
the building, and again he couldn'tget a rise out of us. We've
done the gloves are Off, which, by the way, it is fucking

(17:45):
dead awkward. Just sat in theroom waiting for the cameras to start for
laughing at the side of each other. He's just fucking weird. And then
normally, though, do you talknormally? At that point, it wasn't
really much talking about. Nothing tosay to him. We're going to fight
in a couple of weeks. BenDavis was in the room, Jamie was
in a couple of other people inthe room. He sat there on a

(18:07):
cup of tea and just sat therelike just waiting to talk to each other.
It's fuck. It is awkward, but very forced, very forced.
Again, it was my first experience. Josh has obviously done the gloves off.
I think it did a smaller onewith a horror a couple of years
back, kind of a different setupwith BT, but took it in his
stride, went there. I didn'treally have much to say to him.

(18:27):
I think everyone's trying to everyone wantsthe views. They're trying to nudge you
to to get a reaction. Ithink he probably imprepped up to try and
draw things out of me, butkept it cool. I liked to think
I kept it cool anywhere, andyou've seen it. He was. He
was getting carried away, carried awaywith hisself. And that's Josh. He's
hot headed, So just let himbe hot headed. Tell me this,

(18:51):
Like in the lead up to thefight, like we've spoke a lot of
putras about this, especially debate fight. You know, you've everything and through
your head, like, um,you're thinking about winning, You're thinking about
losing, You're thinking about getting knockedout, getting embarrassed in front of millions,
in front of your friends or family. Was there any part of you,
I'm sure all them things went throughyour head at some point. Was

(19:11):
there any part of you thought aboutrobbery? Not one single thought about robbery,
and not like you said, everyevery scenario. So I've been training
for fifteen months of the fight, the fight gets announced, I'm spending time
away from the family, living atJemie's house for the fight, going to
bed thinking about the fight, havingme breakfast, thinking about the fight,

(19:33):
you've literally pictured every scenario by gettingwrong. That is to what it is
as well, though, like weall love boxing, so like we're obviously
die our boxing fans as well, but it's the casuals that that would put
off more. Like the people thatwe would you'd be speaking to after that
weekend, they're all like, that'swhy boxing shit, that's why the UFC's
back. So because the leg youdon't get them right and the things that

(19:55):
things like I put the casuals awayand I can't stop the sport from growing
eve more and get more eyes onit. Yeah, so many people have
reached out after the fight and stillto this day say, won't much boxing
again unless you're fighting. Not interested. But seeing these decisions like that,
And I've been to the amateur gymsince with my little brother, with young

(20:18):
fighters from the time, and they'regetting ready for the first skills fight and
now they thinking, well, Iwant to get to a world title.
It might take me ten fifteen years, but for what if it's still happening.
And it did discourage a lot ofpeople. And that's the feeling,
like they said, the casual fans, it's not good, is it.

(20:38):
I was sitting next to your yourmissus at the fight. I think your
brother was with her. Your brotherI actually thought was George Taylor's brother.
Is he is the double of JoshTaylor? You're a brother? I think.
I think I've got seven brothers, and well he's the one that to
double the George Tiller. You canask your missus whoever the brother was that

(21:00):
was sitting with her. He wasshouting shortly every two seconds, but whenever
he was I actually thought he wasjust Tiller's brothers. I was trying to
work out. I wonder why it'swith Calor's missus. But anyways, I
was sitting there and I felt likeI could feel every shot you were thrown
because your missus was so Indeed, does it get does it spur you on
when cheese there or does that kindof make you more nervous having her?

(21:22):
No, definitely not. It spursme on. All my family for me,
nana's and granddad's, mom and dad, brothers and sisters. It's been
to pretty much every fight, soit's a it's a good feeling. You've
worked so hard. A lot ofthem don't get to come to the gym,
but you know how hard I've beenworking, so having them there on

(21:42):
fight night it's it's a good feeling. How was that feeling going into like
the Lands? Then? I knowyou've went the Belfast and slapped armide throw
mccanna, but but what was thatlike going in the Lands then going in
the Glasgow? Woman loved it.I said, I've said this before,

(22:02):
but literally everything apart from the decisionwas was brilliant. The training camp,
despiring, mid road work, strengthwork, fight week, everything had gone
and I don't go run nothings onehundred percent perfect, but everything went as
well as it could. He enjoyedbeing in Scotland, got a good reception

(22:23):
up their fight week. Walking tothe ring, it was so. I
come to the ring a couple hoursbefore the venue opened to have a little
look round and have a feel ofthe room. But and again I've said
this before, but I would bedisappointed if I didn't get booed that night.
I know it took quite a fewup to Scotland, but if Josh
was fighting in Manchester and Liverpool,he'd have to expect exactly the same.

(22:48):
So I always knew it was gonnabe hostile, you know what, looking
back now, because it wasn't ashostile as imagined. It was that excited.
I knew how hard I'd worked forthe fight, was coming to the
ring spot, a couple of facesthat come up to support us, and
I was just in the zone forit. Then tell me this, at
the moment the final bill went,I was that I wasn't in a bar

(23:10):
in London and with a few goodfew people were Barton fans when the fight
ended, Like everyone even once youwere in Barton fans, they could tell
fairly, you know, you don'tneed to know how to score a fact,
they were very sure that you won. I was very sure that you
wont. Like we were talking aboutit in the group chat at the time,
we were saying fuck me, likehe actually done adds medal. Was

(23:32):
there any doubt in your head withour final bailment? Not one that You've
seen the reaction and I've kind ofalways kept me calm. Really, I'm
not quite a lat back person, and I've won the British title and other
titles before and I've been like, but I've just done what absolutely ninety nine
point percent of people that writ usoff and for that like what felt like

(23:53):
half an hour, but probably fouror five minutes, I was on cloud
nine. I got an idg thoseshoulders. I turned to Josh, come
on, He's looked at me andput his hand up straight away saying my
thought, oh like but honest togod, it was like one of the
best feelings I've ever experienced up untilthat first of all card was read hurt
and I was like, what unbelievable? Do you ever get a sense?

(24:18):
I see sometimes when I'm watching boxers, You'll especially you'll see it the armiscers
a lot to you, but likethey're in the pros, it seems like
there's sort of whispers get out thatthere might be best might not go the
way you think it's going to go. Um it was with that fight,
as you say, you literally hadno idea until the first scorecard got read.
There was no there was no I'dlooked around at the reaction even before

(24:41):
the decision was read. The fanswere flooding out the arena. Frampton was
inside, Tasha Jonas, this person, that person, all the mcs,
all the sky team with my callthat it was like it was it was
walking away. He was he hadhis arms and they are walking away.
Tommy Coyle because he thought you'd wantedHe wasn't even watching the reacting. He
was, Yeah, I knew atone I felt I'd won in previous fights.

(25:07):
I'd gone back to the corner maybeafter a close round and been like
giving the coaches. But I feltlike every time I come back to just
another round in the bank, anotherround in the bank, that there was
no doubt in my mind. Andthen then and then I started to why
is it taking so long this?Did you say? I'm looking at everybody
and everyone's celebrating for me, Andthen the first squok I got read?

(25:30):
And then it's run. Was therea point now where you're sort of like,
I just want to put this behindme because I'm sure everybody is literally
talking in the street every time youwalk past, and I can't believe you
got rob blah blah. But thenit's like you shouldn't really let it go
that easily as well, because itis a real bad thing to happen.
And then there's still that needle onsocial media. Obviously, Josh Taylor's still

(25:52):
not nibbling away. I don't eventhough I think it was your last post,
I don't even think you mentioned themout. I didn't even mentioned him.
But so it's so my online sayingyeah it's happening, I forget about
it, and you know what, far enough I drew a line under it.
Probably a week later. I spentthree or four days at home.
It happened. I always knew therewas never going to be an overturning off

(26:15):
the decision. We said, youknow what, it's done. It's happened.
But again, you just said eventoday, yesterday people, and that
comes through the territory. You fighton TV, people are gonna know,
and yeah, it's a difficult one. It's I've had a lot of support
since the fights that that's been likethe silver lining, so to speak.

(26:37):
And I think I've proved to alot of people that I can perform at
world level and still only twenty eight. I'm going to get better and back
in the gym. But yeah, there's still that little bit of needle between
Joshua. I see his post andI guess he sees my post, will
following each other and he's getting hounded. Is there part of it though,

(26:59):
comes from a lot of people thinkyou've got to step aside money, which
you didn't. So is there apart of that where like this could have
really changed your life. Your lifewill changed regardless, but it could have
changed your life instantly and it didn't. So you're fighting to provide for your
family, as you've said, sothere's actually a personal element to forget about
the business said there's a personal elementtoo. Does that kind of hurt even

(27:21):
more than of course it does?Yeah, I think that's that was one
of the biggest frustrations I've done itfor. I love boxing, but I
understand it's a business and you've gotto provide for your family, and it's
not a long career. So thefact that one just just just gets demoted
and it can be swept under thecarpet and you get five or ten jobs
on Instagram dry your eyes fall inthe place, and like it's all like

(27:44):
them saying that, but like youjust said, Esseni, that they robbed
my family and the future earnings. The guy from Post of Comments or a
rung the police didn't. He justkeep saying, ring the police. But
I'm never a police in my life. Shout out to lindsay, what a
good guy. He's the speak ofthe Price of Comments and lives two miles
up the road and he's always supportedthe fights, and again not probably a

(28:07):
boxing person, but that many peopletook notice of the fight and from all
around the world, and everybody apartfrom like the no point one percent of
people seeing it, I seeing it. It had changed judging. What would
you change about judging m It's adifficult one. I think Jamie touched on

(28:30):
it. But it's it's two opinionbased. So you score a goal that
goes over the line, you scoreda goal putting boxing, it's all I
thought. So I know I wason the back foot in the fight,
but I was having success on theback foot. You see a lot of
fighters. It was me whether heis slow, it would be the perfect
example on the back foot later inhis career. But I felt like I

(28:55):
was drawing Josh and he was fallingshort. I was getting my punches off,
moving off well. But then heand John Lewis said, well he
was on the front foot. Hewas, he was the aggressive But all
right, you look at the statistics. I landed him in eleven rounds,
at twelve landed the more power punches. So and like I just said,
it's it's the opinion base for methat you would have to change, and

(29:17):
it would have to be more statistical. Katy Taylor, Sharrano fed on.
Sorry the first four rounds, KittyTaylor was sort of backing on the back
food just hitting her of all theclean shots by Sharano was just throwing volume
or like just putting the pressure oneven and missing a lot of the time.
And Katy Taylor got all four roundsand most I was it all the
judges, I'm there, sure giveit the first four rounds. So it

(29:37):
needs to be that consistency and everyscorecard. That's the problem. It is.
It is weird that it's so fuckingweird that like judges can't get it
right because like we've spoke about thisbefore, Like I don't I don't think
there's any bran envelopes going on,you know, sort of payments. I
mean there might be, like Idon't see it that way, Like I
don't know if it's craped envelope. But I do believe there's been come stations

(30:00):
pre fight with top ranked w thegoverning bodies, the boxing Board. All
they talked about before my fight wasLopez coming up to one forty and Taylor
moving up to one four seven. So I'm thinking and then we'll look back
and pitchure thing. So we gotthe tickets for the fight. They just
said Josh Taylor and there's that manysmall little things. Now we'll look back

(30:22):
and I think it really did fuckme. Yeah, it's like people like
looking at this weekend for Canelo Bivill, like Bivill has to knock Canello,
would or even shouldn't do that.We spoke about that before, like I
knew that and I said it goingup to Stotland. They have to beat
him and convincingly. And people aresaying, well, why so because there's
a boxer. I as a boxingfan, we know that if you're going

(30:45):
to somebody's back garden you have todo a number one. But it shouldn't
be like that. But how doyou change it? Yeah? Yeah,
anyway I need like I do think, oh like this could this? Will
they end up working out the bestfor you, like you spoke are like
about Lindsay Oil and the House ofCommon speaking about it. The whole nation,
The whole nation was speaking about thatfight after like people who weren't interested
in boxing. It was tremmed ineverywhere, like number of people give the

(31:08):
money back for the fight, likethat's happened before, and it's sort of
like obviously we're the friends with McConnonmic with the Olympics. At the time,
it's the worst thing that could everhappen to you. It turned out,
in a way the best thing thephoto of you is. Yeah,
so it raised saying after the fight, because but it raises your que fact

(31:32):
because you came out of that sowell. And I'm not saying, look,
look, it wasn't Josh Salt. We're big fans is Jos as well,
but like it wasn't it wasn't hisfault what happened, But you came
out of that so well because likeyou sort of won the hearts of the
nation. You know, I thinkthat that straight after the fight, it
wasn't just his fault. Is afight. I'm a fight to But I
don't I do think he's not carriedherself well after the fight. I think,

(31:52):
you know what they talked about fuckit up. So also I'm under
the impression but a couple of callsof the last couple of weeks, but
I am told these he struggles tosleep at night and he can't go and
buy a pint of milk without theshop on asking him Wednesday fighting me again.

(32:13):
So yeah, I think he's beenpushed into a bit of a difficult
position. I'm sure he's getting messagesevery day on social media and people say,
oh, forget about social media, but like, if you're getting them
every day calling it out about youtoo fighting each other again, it's kind
of either way. Yeah, everytime. And if I was Josh,
I would want to put things right, so to speak, if I want

(32:35):
to fight that I knew I didn'twant. I know we're still saying different,
but did want to get in thereand do it again. I certainly
I got back up to Scotland. But yeah, Manchester in in London,
it don't matter, yea, yeah, especially with a fight of that magnitude,
Like, look, it's not howit happen, Like the first fight

(32:55):
in the car that night and newswere two unknown names, it would be
forgot about, like whatever you knowwith this, this is you know behinds
He's gonna haunt USh. He isone of the greatest. You know,
he's proved himself as one of thegreatest bartiest fighters ever and for him,
like I can't see why he wouldn'twant to just if he thinks he can
beat you, then settle that scorebecause it will just stick with him.
It's gonna be it's gonna say,I think, what options have you really

(33:17):
got? Who else you're gonna fightat one forty. You've already got and
collected all the titles. Nobody wantsto fight him at well to wait,
So it's like, do you thinkone forty though, because he has said
he wouldn't fight yet one forty didn'tHe yes said that, but again he
said a lot of things before thefight. He was gonna drop down in

(33:38):
fact to your female one thirty fivebecause he doesn't weight that well. So
you tell me, well, ifif for instance, in touch where you
do get the remats to automatic remots, if you didn't, would you be
looking at suspectable straight in? Theyweren't title shot if he vacates the belts.
So you're listening all the especially witha w be all the rankings and

(34:00):
the letters that have gone back andforth on my behalf. But I probably
won't get a world title shot straightaway. I don't know if he's vacate
the w BA yet, but I'vemade it clear to the team that if
I ever fight this summer, itneeds to be the correct fight to put
me straight in line to fight fora title by the end of the year.

(34:22):
Right. I don't want to tuneup fight a walm up fights,
stay busy fight. I need it. I need a good live fight to
that will put me in the rankingsin position to challenge for a world title.
If Josh decides that he doesn't wantto fight me again, it just
baffles me that you wouldn't be Imean, haven't even got me in the

(34:44):
top fifteen. Who are running thesegoverning bodies are complete clowns like US three
could fucking run them. Government bodiesjust run by dinosaurs. I think w
BA number four to be beyond withthree twenty seven. And I don't believe

(35:12):
it, know what, It's likewe're laughing, but it's a fucking disgrace.
It really is a disgrace. Andpeople keep saying when you can get
a world title fight this someone likeprobably not, probably have to fight first
and get a final eliminator or somethingto get a shot later this year.
It's like I've accepted it. Iknow that more than likely I don't fight

(35:36):
Josh, I might get a shotat one world title in the back end.
Of the year. But and that'sthe reality of it. I mean
I couldn't believe as well. Wewere sort of looking up before you came
on that you're only twenty year Likewhat the fuck? It feels like you've
been around forever. Yeah, somany years left, Like you're only common
in deer prime, Like most partsersaren't hitting their prime these days till twenty
nine thirty. So like you're onlycommon in deer prime and you're gonna you're

(36:00):
gonna get these opportunities, and there'szeroed out about it. Maybe not but
the ibs well, but yeah,I look after my body, stay in
the gymistiff. I think my styleof fighting I've managed to and I love
Tyrone, but you see some ofthe wars he has every time he's in
the ring, I'm like, whybut involved in one? So we were

(36:22):
actually we were at that fight inthe Odyssey two was even nineteen Unbelievabie fight
was fucking epic. Had him inferspiringfor the for the Taylor fight. Gas
tell me, but yeah, goodpeople. Yeah, I think those style

(36:43):
and the way the fights that haveadded, the way I've controlled the fights,
and one of the fights I thinkI do believe I've got still quite
a few years left in the ring, and I'm twenty nine this year,
coming into me prime. So afterthat last fight, hopefully I'll get some
some big fight nuts. Well beforeor that, you go would need a
funny story from that gym, becausewe feel like Nigel and Jimmie are bout

(37:06):
running absolutely madness the time. Sowhen he did give us some sort of
funny story from Nigel or Jimmie, this one's from He's from from the gym.
So I wasn't absolutely there on thisday, but Frankton's come to the
gym start training for his fights.Never met Tommy before, I believe it.
With a BBC Northern Ireland, theyset the cameras up and going a

(37:30):
man, these cameras are expensive thatthey bring in. Tommy Coyles just rann
in the gym with a fire extinguisher. The guy from from the TV said,
like, that's fifty grands worth ofcameras and he just blasted the whole
gym with the fire exting. Nevermet him before, and like what the
fuck that? Tommy Thomas kean absolutelymental that you can't get in the show

(37:57):
about Tommy Cole putting your whole gymbag in the shower and tying your train
in its together. I'm like, what, what's your thoughts on Frampton's new
teeth. I'm not. I'm notseeing frompthing for a while, but I've
seen you post today with quick sohe's had a good, good career and
copied Mick he jumped on the bandwagon. You that when you start making when

(38:22):
you start making bank next years hopefully, well here lad, we were such
a big fanal be like before youcome on, you carried yourself so so
well on the lead up that you'vecarried yourself so well after and there is
massive things ahead for you. Sowell company. I appreciate you have me.
Thank you for giving me a timecoming on. Hopefully get you on

(38:42):
