In this episode of Bring the Pain, I reviewed last night's UFC Nashville, which featured Lewis vs. Teixeira at the main event. After a pretty good card, the zany ending to that match took a little out of our pockets, but in the end, we had an amazing week of content for the Fight ClubofPain. Of course, the Five-tastic Picks smashed it again, and DFS wise, I have out a lineup that would have put you on the top five percent of most slates this weekend. Partly because I went 11-1 for my picks and the fight theory Dan discussed with me on the Fight Club. Well, that's enough talk for now, so let's get to it. Oh yeah, man, that was a killer card. I'll just
say this right now.

I went eleven and one literally went into the main
event Lewis and to Shriff with only zero losses, with
zero losses, like zero, And I'm like looking at this
cash out option right now, and I'm like, eh, you know,
the cash out option.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Was like.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Fifty five percent of what was supposed to be paid out.
But because of all the DFS information we did and
everything just going really right for us this week, we
were able. We were already stepping into a lot of money.
So I just kind of played it back and just
played it safe. I had Derek Lewis knocked out anyway
in the first round.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I had the fight going under one and a half rounds.
I had knocked out as part of the round.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
So I was able to get a little bit money
on the parlays before the big money hit, you know.
And it was crazy because I went to bed tied.
It was a three way tie for first place. But
then I wake up and there's somebody's above us all
the now. So it's just really funny how it happens. Again,
that's the life of DFS. So definitely was able to

turn a lot more money and now my bankroll.

Was set for football. That is what I've been preaching
all season long.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Build build build, build, build, build bank double up, double up,
triple up. When it takes it, you know, win lose, win, lose,
and then bam, you get those days like yesterday where you.

Know baseball, I was able to hit a little bit
of that too, a lot of hits.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I got a lot of hits going on right now
with with the asked heat tastic MLB bets of the day.
So that's that's working out really well. But what really
really started so let's do a walk through, all right.
Start off the fight with Fatim M. Klein and Melissa Martinez.
Of course I had Klein winning that one. Didn't really
do too much action. I did kind of play with
the knockout sub and that that was kind of fun too.

Then kind of went to mitchro Mirror's of Mike Davis.
Mike Davis was my captain everywhere everywhere. I just felt
that he was definitely gonna get that finished. He got
the finish. That's exactly what we needed, and so we
got our second win. Now, this is where it got crazy,
going vaulter Walker just because you know Kennedy and Juzu

hold On Nezaku Wu is just like just he just
looked boring and he looked bad. He just looked like scruffy,
like he just crawled out of bed, Like that's not
a he looked last fight. So he definitely didn't take
this fight seriously in my opinion. But going back on it,
balter Walker just went and annihilated him. He just flew
(03:25):
after him like I couldn't even believe. I was like,
what is going on?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
And it was just like it was really.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Like somebody chasing the cake around a room and he
got the cake and he just the minuity guy who
just jumped on his leg. And yeah, that was great.
That was had that submission. You know what was crazy
is I had submission.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I had sick.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I didn't have a first round submission like I always do.
I had a second and third round submission with him.
Ah sometimes.

Then of course, going to Laura Murphy versus Wardo, Maura
Mara took it to the distance there just looked like
she held back a little bit. I felt like she
didn't want to really punish the older Murphy, but Murphy
was really trying to win that fight. It almost could
have won that fight at the end. She literally almost
tapped her out.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
That would have been crazy, but hey, things happened. And
then you got Jake Matthews all over cheaty Nujuwani man,
oh that right from the go, Matthews right in it,
And I think that's why a lot of the people
in the census ended up gravitating towards Matthews.

For DFS wise, it was it was a big, big play.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Having Walter Walker in Matthews on your DFS lineup right
now was just really good And I did so then
you get to the next fight. You got Max Griffin
Chris Curtis. Chris Curtis did pull it out. Almost thought
Max s Griffin was gonna get that, but Curtis just
landed way too many power punches. Kind of go back
to Roy volvers Van a couple of weeks ago. When
you saw that fight go down, you think of how

all the volume that Raval landed.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
But then you go back and said, yeah, but Van
ended up on top of the end of the fight.
He landed the power punches. Let's give it to him.
Then you got the other he got what a lot
of people thought was.

A huge upset, took totos whoa right got that third
got a win right there, and it was that not
we did.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
We did nail that on the show.

Second a third round submission plus thirteen hundred, so that
was great. Another you know, pat on the back for
the fight cup of pain ooh yeah, and that's just.

We we didn't even cover that fight. It was just
literally a free bet that we gave out.

So then we moved a wrong to Patrino versus Austin
Lane really thought Petrino could have got him out of
there a little faster but just.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Didn't work out. Ended up still had the win though,
and then we had Morgan Sherry are just just destroying
Nate Landward. Nate the train.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, it looked like day train kind of control it
first at times, but then it was like once once
that calf, once those calf kicks started really hurting him
and he couldn't really press.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Forward the way it was, Morgan just took him out.
Morgan just ended it.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
And it was like, I really felt if you could
have got the second round decision or knocked out, but
it looked like he held back.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Went back to his corner, said all right, now let
me go off finish this. That's what happened. Another win.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Of course, Steve Garcia distance was able to give us money.
We did play a lot of knockout with Garcia. Garcia
actually ended up breaking the slate if I. They took
points away from Garcia as part of the fix, and
that's what kind of took me out of first place
for that.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
But that's okay. Things happened. Still want a lot of
money and that's all that matters.
Speaker 2 (06:37):

The way that the UFC and the Fight Club of
Pain has been able to do this. And it's not
just me, It's not just Dan, it's a lot of
other people that I fight with. We talked fights just
for five, ten, fifteen minutes before we start training.

It was talking with Blake a lot over the weekend
and Blake, you know, kind of came through in for
one minute and then bam, you know, and then it's
the big one, the under one, and it was the
Jake Matthews.

The Jake Matthews fight. He really needed that that under
action and the under was a plus.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
So that really helped us get back under the positives
and went out and he gets some extra money. So
of course Gabriel bomfam gets his decision. Would have liked
to see it go down, but hey, got some points,
got some things going on.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
But that wonky ending. Look, I get that I went
eleven in.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
One because I took Talis in ter Sarah and Lewis
got another suit. Talison was getting up. That was a
wonky ending. But you know what, you put yourself in it.
You're in yourself with.

That ref and you're gonna end up jump getting jumped
like that and you lost.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
You lost, bro, And you know what, I'd look back
to it, man, and I could have just pulled that
money out, and I was like, you know what, I
kind of just sat on it, and then I thought
it was like, I'll just sit on the money in
the morning and then all the fight stats come through
and all that happened. But you know what, in the end,
it was a positive day. It's why the fight Club
of Pain is a force to be reckoned with. We
are not only just looking at we're trying to break

the fights down. We're not always gonna be right about
the finishes. Again, that was the bump him. I thought
you definitely could have just wrapped up wonder Boy. But
guess what, they kind of just slugged it out and
took it nice and easy.

And that's fine for me if you're gonna play that
game too.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
And I gotta say, man, calvic Dar took so much
punishment from Steve Garcia. I don't know how any get
the knockout. I get the knockout. I'm getting first place.
But it again comes back to it. We put ourselves
in these positions to just be working hard, staying consistent,
and you can do that with the help at Doctor Rodo.

That's why I say it constantly. That's why I say
you always remember to bring the pain. You can't stop.
You have to constantly learn because if you don't, then
you're just gonna fade. So that's why being able to
step into a new sport is that And that's.

So you know, overall, even besides that, the DFS is
scored seven fifty one times two on two different lineups,
and then my other two lineups was like a seven
hundred and twelve and a six ninety or something like that.
And then also on DraftKings, I scored a lot of
money on there too, was able to place.

Really high to win it a lot.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Actually, I really liked the snake drafts that they have
now with the UFC, where you draft I kept I
keep talking about it, where you you draft four fighters,
so I it really you really have to get kind
of dues. So for me, I already knew that my
number one fighter that I wanted was either gonna be
Mike Davis or bomb from I knew that those were
gonna end up being locks for wins, even though Bombfam
(10:14):
went up going thick. But I was able to pull
a lot more like Steve Garcia. Garcia was huge for me,
not only on the DFS lines, but.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Also in those those contests as well too, because.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Nobody was really looking down at the eighty four hundred
area with Steve for the third pick, and that's when
I was able to steal Steve Garcia in a lot
of those third rounds, and I'm talking about because they're
not gonna give you a big contest, so you practically
it's it's either get the dollar, the two dollars, the
five dollars, ten dollars, et cetera, et cetera. You throw down,
and first place wins all the money practically, and you

get a draft. You do a draft between three other people,
and I think it's really great. Gandal does not have
it yet, but Draftings does, and I just think it's
a real fun thing. You know, if you got four fighters,
as you think did try to get him. You're not
always gonna get those fighters, but you have to have
a little backup plan. It's a nice, simple, short, sweet,
small contest between users.

Like me, experts like me. Just doing things like that.

That's kind of what that is for. And I don't
mind it being like that. I'd like to see like
maybe a five. But then it gets kind of when
you get like twelve fights, like this weekend, you got
fourteen fights for three UFC three eighteen, which is nice,
but any of those drop out, you don't really want
to lose, and just kind of shertin that because everything
already is kind of tight when you have a twelve
fight card anyway, So you're getting a lot of the people.

Like one guy that wasn't really owned well was was
Garcia was wasn't too bad.

It was Mike Davis.

I was getting him around twenty twenty five percent. Dad's
God is crazy crazy. But again as I stated, and
as me and Dan were talking about the slate slayers
on the DFS, and these guys were on the five
pastic picks, was Walter Walker, was was Jake Matthews and

two Kotokos. Those were the three guys I said, throw in.
You had Matthew's right in the middle. And then I
was able to work working in you know, Morgan shire
Y are on a couple other lineups, and that's kind
of what it is.

Lineup construction, line of building. And although Up said, it
just shows.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
The hard work and dedication and all that comes down
to again challenging ourselves learning a new sport, finding the numbers,
looking at some of the significant strikes. You know, I
threw in a debt last night, too, significant strikes for Petrino,
Like you knew that Patrino, well not Patrino. Yeah, yeah,
it was Petrino's Petrino gets Austin Lane.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
No matter what.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Even if Austin Lane knocked out Patrino, Patrino was gonna
have more significant strikes, So it was a negative two ninety.
It was worth taking the shot for of course Patrino
took him out. So that again comes back to it
and why the fight theory is so big.

That's what leads to the decisions. That's what leads to
being able to take a chance on some.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Of those plays, the second and third round action where
you're looking at a knockout for the fight only being
a two hundred, but you know that this fight is
only gonna go with the second and first round and
grabbing the plus two ninety instead of the two hundred
just betting smarter, but maybe even grabbing the two hundred
two just kind of make sure you cover yourself all
across the thing.

And you know it was.

Crazy is you know the I debuted the parlaym pain,
which was supposed to be kind of like just crazy
crazy finishes put together. That's what the parlay pain is.
It's pain, It's finished his So I was able to
get the knockout with Lewis. I got the I missed
on the Petrino. Not well, no, I got the Patrino
and then of course bon Fam knockout submission. Did not

get that, but that was okay. I didn't mind that
at all. And then you had Davis, Yeah you had
you had the knockout right there, so I had that,
but I didn't get the sub with Fatima. So whatever,
it's kind of just a fun little thing. It made
a nice little thing plus sixty six fifty four. Can't
hate that, and again, that's what we want to do.
So and last night I actually was right at the

end of the night, I talked to one of the
other shows that there's a show we Want Picks. I
don't know which one of the people were talking to Angelo,
most likely Angelo or River like that, but they said,
David Ay, they would come on, they they would do
an interview. So I was, that's really really cool. So
I don't know, he's really really busy.

That play We Want Picks is nuts, like they just
do so much shows.

But then again, I have so many articles and I'm
doing so many podcasts that it's.

don't even want to talk to you see just the
whole beginning where we got what's our backgrounds and what
we feel is why it makes what makes fighters combat people,
people who are be in combat sports a lot longer, better, better.
I say this all the time because we see things
differently with the fights. And like I said on the

podcast with Dan, sometimes Dan is your company. That's why
Dan picked Derek Lewis. He knew what was gonna happen.
That's why I see yaid with Derek luth I said,
all the money was on Derek Luiz should have went
with Derek Luis is my pick, and then we wouldn't
have had this problem, right, But at the same time,
I did have lose.

In my DFS lineup. He was super cheap seventy two
on DraftKings. And that's what it takes.

It takes to you just gotta pull it. You just
gotta make the movie. You gotta say it with your chest,
you know, I say it all the time. Oh yeah,
but guess but definitely get to it. This week's gonna
be crazy. So we're gonna be going We're doing a
We're doing an exchange, We're gonna be hitting doing the
show so me and Dan are going to be meeting
on Thursday, So I don't know if we're gonna be

doing the Fight Club of Pain later on Wednesday, or
we're just gonna do the Fight Club of Pain on
Thursday after we get back. I think that's what's gonna happen.
We'll see, we'll play it by ear, but I'm gonna
keep it. Even though it's a big, big event being
UFC three eighteen.

Then of course, going to Laura Murphy versus Wardo, Maura
Mara took it to the distance there just looked like
she held back a little bit. I felt like she
didn't want to really punish the older Murphy, but Murphy
was really trying to win that fight. It almost could
have won that fight at the end. She literally almost
tapped her out.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
That would have been crazy, but hey, things happened. And
then you got Jake Matthews all over cheaty Nujuwani man,
oh that right from the go, Matthews right in it,
And I think that's why a lot of the people
in the census ended up gravitating towards Matthews.

For DFS wise, it was it was a big, big play.

Having Walter Walker in Matthews on your DFS lineup right
now was just really good And I did so then
you get to the next fight. You got Max Griffin
Chris Curtis. Chris Curtis did pull it out. Almost thought
Max s Griffin was gonna get that, but Curtis just
landed way too many power punches. Kind of go back
to Roy volvers Van a couple of weeks ago. When
you saw that fight go down, you think of how

all the volume that Raval landed.

But then you go back and said, yeah, but Van
ended up on top of the end of the fight.
He landed the power punches. Let's give it to him.
Then you got the other he got what a lot
of people thought was.

got a win right there, and it was that not

So then we moved a wrong to Patrino versus Austin
Lane really thought Petrino could have got him out of
there a little faster but just.

Didn't work out. Ended up still had the win though,
and then we had Morgan Sherry are just just destroying
Nate Landward. Nate the train.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, it looked like day train kind of control it
first at times, but then it was like once once
that calf, once those calf kicks started really hurting him
and he couldn't really press.

Forward the way it was, Morgan just took him out.
Morgan just ended it.

And it was like, I really felt if you could
have got the second round decision or knocked out, but
it looked like he held back.

Went back to his corner, said all right, now let
me go off finish this. That's what happened. Another win.

Of course, Steve Garcia distance was able to give us money.
We did play a lot of knockout with Garcia. Garcia
actually ended up breaking the slate if I. They took
points away from Garcia as part of the fix, and
that's what kind of took me out of first place
for that.

But that's okay. Things happened. Still want a lot of
money and that's all that matters.

It was talking with Blake a lot over the weekend
and Blake, you know, kind of came through in for
one minute and then bam, you know, and then it's
the big one, the under one, and it was the
Jake Matthews.

The Jake Matthews fight. He really needed that that under
action and the under was a plus.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
So that really helped us get back under the positives
and went out and he gets some extra money. So
of course Gabriel bomfam gets his decision. Would have liked
to see it go down, but hey, got some points,
got some things going on.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
But that wonky ending. Look, I get that I went
eleven in.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
One because I took Talis in ter Sarah and Lewis
got another suit. Talison was getting up. That was a
wonky ending. But you know what, you put yourself in it.
You're in yourself with.

That ref and you're gonna end up jump getting jumped
like that and you lost.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
You lost, bro, And you know what, I'd look back
to it, man, and I could have just pulled that
money out, and I was like, you know what, I
kind of just sat on it, and then I thought
it was like, I'll just sit on the money in
the morning and then all the fight stats come through
and all that happened. But you know what, in the end,
it was a positive day. It's why the fight Club
of Pain is a force to be reckoned with. We
are not only just looking at we're trying to break

the fights down. We're not always gonna be right about
the finishes. Again, that was the bump him. I thought
you definitely could have just wrapped up wonder Boy. But
guess what, they kind of just slugged it out and
took it nice and easy.

And that's fine for me if you're gonna play that
game too.

And I gotta say, man, calvic Dar took so much
punishment from Steve Garcia. I don't know how any get
the knockout. I get the knockout. I'm getting first place.
But it again comes back to it. We put ourselves
in these positions to just be working hard, staying consistent,

You have to constantly learn because if you don't, then

So you know, overall, even besides that, the DFS is
scored seven fifty one times two on two different lineups,
and then my other two lineups was like a seven
hundred and twelve and a six ninety or something like that.
And then also on DraftKings, I scored a lot of
money on there too, was able to place.

Really high to win it a lot.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Actually, I really liked the snake drafts that they have
now with the UFC, where you draft I kept I
keep talking about it, where you you draft four fighters,
so I it really you really have to get kind
of dues. So for me, I already knew that my
number one fighter that I wanted was either gonna be
Mike Davis or bomb from I knew that those were
gonna end up being locks for wins, even though Bombfam
(10:14):
went up going thick. But I was able to pull
a lot more like Steve Garcia. Garcia was huge for me,
not only on the DFS lines, but.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Also in those those contests as well too, because.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Nobody was really looking down at the eighty four hundred
area with Steve for the third pick, and that's when
I was able to steal Steve Garcia in a lot
of those third rounds, and I'm talking about because they're
not gonna give you a big contest, so you practically
it's it's either get the dollar, the two dollars, the
five dollars, ten dollars, et cetera, et cetera. You throw down,
and first place wins all the money practically, and you
(10:48):
get a draft. You do a draft between three other people,
and I think it's really great. Gandal does not have
it yet, but Draftings does, and I just think it's
a real fun thing. You know, if you got four fighters,
as you think did try to get him. You're not
always gonna get those fighters, but you have to have
a little backup plan. It's a nice, simple, short, sweet,
small contest between users.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Like me, experts like me. Just doing things like that.

That's kind of what that is for. And I don't
mind it being like that. I'd like to see like
maybe a five. But then it gets kind of when
you get like twelve fights, like this weekend, you got
fourteen fights for three UFC three eighteen, which is nice,
but any of those drop out, you don't really want
to lose, and just kind of shertin that because everything
already is kind of tight when you have a twelve
fight card anyway, So you're getting a lot of the people.

Like one guy that wasn't really owned well was was
Garcia was wasn't too bad.

It was Mike Davis.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I was getting him around twenty twenty five percent. Dad's
God is crazy crazy. But again as I stated, and
as me and Dan were talking about the slate slayers
on the DFS, and these guys were on the five
pastic picks, was Walter Walker, was was Jake Matthews and

two Kotokos. Those were the three guys I said, throw in.
You had Matthew's right in the middle. And then I
was able to work working in you know, Morgan shire
Y are on a couple other lineups, and that's kind
of what it is.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Lineup construction, line of building. And although Up said, it
just shows.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
The hard work and dedication and all that comes down
to again challenging ourselves learning a new sport, finding the numbers,
looking at some of the significant strikes. You know, I
threw in a debt last night, too, significant strikes for Petrino,
Like you knew that Patrino, well not Patrino. Yeah, yeah,
it was Petrino's Petrino gets Austin Lane.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
No matter what.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Even if Austin Lane knocked out Patrino, Patrino was gonna
have more significant strikes, So it was a negative two ninety.
It was worth taking the shot for of course Patrino
took him out. So that again comes back to it
and why the fight theory is so big.

That's what leads to the decisions. That's what leads to
being able to take a chance on some.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Of those plays, the second and third round action where
you're looking at a knockout for the fight only being
a two hundred, but you know that this fight is
only gonna go with the second and first round and
grabbing the plus two ninety instead of the two hundred
just betting smarter, but maybe even grabbing the two hundred
two just kind of make sure you cover yourself all
across the thing.

And you know it was.

Crazy is you know the I debuted the parlaym pain,
which was supposed to be kind of like just crazy
crazy finishes put together. That's what the parlay pain is.
It's pain, It's finished his So I was able to
get the knockout with Lewis. I got the I missed
on the Petrino. Not well, no, I got the Patrino
and then of course bon Fam knockout submission. Did not

get that, but that was okay. I didn't mind that
at all. And then you had Davis, Yeah you had
you had the knockout right there, so I had that,
but I didn't get the sub with Fatima. So whatever,
it's kind of just a fun little thing. It made
a nice little thing plus sixty six fifty four. Can't
hate that, and again, that's what we want to do.
So and last night I actually was right at the

end of the night, I talked to one of the
other shows that there's a show we Want Picks. I
don't know which one of the people were talking to Angelo,
most likely Angelo or River like that, but they said,
David Ay, they would come on, they they would do
an interview. So I was, that's really really cool. So
I don't know, he's really really busy.

That play We Want Picks is nuts, like they just
do so much shows.

But then again, I have so many articles and I'm
doing so many podcasts that it's.

Gonna be hard to get it in.

But when you get it out, just you know, we
don't even want to talk to you see just the
whole beginning where we got what's our backgrounds and what
we feel is why it makes what makes fighters combat people,
people who are be in combat sports a lot longer, better, better.
I say this all the time because we see things
differently with the fights. And like I said on the

podcast with Dan, sometimes Dan is your company. That's why
Dan picked Derek Lewis. He knew what was gonna happen.
That's why I see yaid with Derek luth I said,
all the money was on Derek Luiz should have went
with Derek Luis is my pick, and then we wouldn't
have had this problem, right, But at the same time,
I did have lose.

In my DFS lineup. He was super cheap seventy two
on DraftKings. And that's what it takes.

It takes to you just gotta pull it. You just
gotta make the movie. You gotta say it with your chest,

be crazy. So we're gonna be going We're doing a

show so me and Dan are going to be meeting
on Thursday, So I don't know if we're gonna be

we're just gonna do the Fight Club of Pain on
Thursday after we get back. I think that's what's gonna happen.
We'll see, we'll play it by ear, but I'm gonna
keep it. Even though it's a big, big event being
UFC three eighteen.
