It's time to get started. This is Christy Kennell of
Brookville House of Worship, and I am here with Scott Parsons.
Scott is a traveling psalmist and evangelist who plays incredible
guitar and sings songs full of revelation and insight from
(01:12):
his heart and about the Lord. God gives him incredible
downloads and the Spirit moves in incredible ways with his songs.
It is a privilege to have you on the podcast today, Scott.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Welcome to be how Well, Thank you so much. It's
such an honor to be here.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
It's like a grand return to be how in their
new facility, their new location. When I was here back
in September and the end of September beginning of October
last year, this was a vision this place. So now
it's come to fruition and it's really incredible to come
back to it remodeled and now ready to I guess
(01:51):
it's been a few months now, yes, and it's exciting
to see what the Lord's doing here.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
It's just such an honor. Thank you for having me.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Oh, you're welcome. So glad to have you here.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Thanks so, Scott.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
As we talked about the subject of this podcast, we
decided to talk about something that is on your heart
right now, and that is crucifying the flesh. As I
prayed about the podcast, I asked the Holy Spirit which
direction we should go, and the Holy Spirit gave me
one word and that word was alignment, which led me
to the question, what does crucifying the flesh have to
(02:26):
do with alignment? So we are going to explore that
a bit as we talk today, and it should be
interesting and then you have a little surprise somewhere within
the broadcast.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, download I do.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
And the Holy Spirit led you to it and brought
it to you and it fits right in.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yeah, it really does. It fits right into the subject.
And the song itself is actually a prayer. And so
there's that aspect of it when we get to that.
But we do you want me to answer that question
that the the how alignment and crucifying the flesh? Sure, Okay,
(03:05):
how they relate?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (03:06):
So I feel like you cannot be in alignment with
the Lord without.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Crucifying the flesh.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
And one of the things that I've learned about people
and myself especially is that when we hear any words,
any phrases, we we we approach it from the filters
and from where we're currently at, either with the Lord
or ourselves. So it can be tainted with with all
kinds of like preconditions, filters, our experiences in life. And
(03:40):
so when we hear crucify the flesh, you know, if
we were to say ask ten people, h you know,
what does that mean to you? We'll probably get ten
different responses, right, you know, And so but but I
feel like, you know, there's there's some scriptures in the
Bible that will point towards what it really means. And
(04:01):
it's like it's like sharing the crucifixion of Christ in
the sense of us being willing to crucify the flesh
right so.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
That we can be in alignment.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Because when we're in alignment, that's when God's will it
will be in his perfect will, not in his permissive will,
but in his perfect will, and that's when his plans
for us will come to full fruition, our destiny that
he hasks for us. So if we don't crucify the flesh,
we're really hindering a lot in our relationship with the Lord,
(04:34):
are our destinies and and really what we were created for.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yes, that contentment that because before purpose, a lot of
us will have that big hole within our psyche and
we're trying to fill that with everything, with relationships and
with the perfect career and having children and even you know,
even getting a pet or something like that, just to
put on a very practical level. But the whole cannot
be filled by the things of this world. The whole
(05:00):
came about when Adam and Eve fell and we fell
with it, and the world fell with that, So trying
to fill that with anything else is going to just
be running after something that is never going to happen.
And you might have it for a very short time.
You might get to that very top of that ladder
and think, this is not even close to what I
(05:22):
thought it was going to be, and I'm not happy.
But in finding alignment with God and crucifying the flesh
and getting into your purpose, contentment comes because we go
through suffering no matter what. And this is what we're
going to talk about all of this stuff. But you know,
suffering with God or suffering aside from God, you're going
to suffer. But through the suffering, when you're with God
(05:45):
and you are on your path, you still have that
level of contentment and it just urges you on because
you're pleasing God and God is blessing you and it
is a beautiful relationship.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
It's what's interesting, too, is alignment flows from your adoration
and love of the Lord, because you know in the
Word it says, if you love me, then you will
you will follow my tenants. You will, you will, you
will you will listen to my word. You will you
(06:20):
will uh uh, keep follow my command keep my commandments.
Exactly and so, but so that flow, that love of
the Lord will be something that will will keep us
in alignment. But there are things that will hinder that.
And generally it's it's because the Bible says that if
(06:40):
you if you sow corruption, you will reap corruption. Yes,
which is not peaceful, it's not content, it's corruption, and
it's peril, and it's all these things that are not
of the Lord. And so what happens is people will
you know, they'll they'll have moments where they fall back
into sin, or they fall back into you know, these
(07:03):
fleshly things that will hinder the Lord's a spirit and
his operating in our lives.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
And so.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Alignment is critical and crucifying the flesh is essential for
alignment because there's a scripture here in John fifteen says
John fifteen four.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Abide in Me and I in you.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it
abides in the vine. Neither can you unless you abide
in me. I am the vine. You are the branches.
He who abides in me and I in him bears
much fruit. For without me you can do nothing.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
So the word of God is truth. So when he
says you can do nothing. That literally means nothing. And
if anybody were if somebody was to come to you
and say would you like to do nothing.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Say sometimes, no, I want to do something. Please anything,
you know, So so.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
You know, you know, nobody really wants to do nothing.
And you know, but apart from being in alignment with
the Lord, because this is just another way of explaining
alignment abiding and so that scripture is so powerful because
it's just full of so many nuggets and truth and
warnings in a sense really because it's saying that you
(08:30):
have to be in Him in order to have fruit.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
You have to be abiding in Him, in alignment.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
And so it's critical that we're able to seek the
Lord in those areas that he wants us to crucify
the flesh.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Because once the fruit becomes apart from the vine and
it's not used correctly or used up, what happens it rots.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Right exactly, that's a good I mean, there's there's a.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Princess when you're looking for fruit in something you.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Know, in the natural like that, that's.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
A great account still living. Is it on the vine
or has been plucked from the vine and is out
there on its own trying to make it by itself
and it just rots.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yeah, it's and then there's that scripture that says, lean
not on your own understanding in all your way, but
trust in Me in all your ways, and so you know, yeah,
so leaning on your own understanding is like uh, linking
up or coming into agreement with the flesh. No, we're to.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Pray against that and actually come out of agreement of
the of the flesh. And then and then doing that,
we're crucifying it. But we need to take inventory and
be real with ourselves because we can't fool God, and
really we can't fool anybody else. People can see through
our stuff. We think they can't, but they can't. They do,
They really do. And so you know, we're not we're not.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
We're not.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Basically, we're not fooling anybody. And so you know what
really on the other side of vulnerability, transparency and and
just being real and raw is freedom.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
But there's some stuff to do to get there, because
once you're aware of these things that you need to crucify,
then there's a process of doing it right. And that's
a difficult process, but it can be done with the
power of the Lord.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Prayer and fasting's helpful friends, trusted friends in your circle.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah, Jesus only had twelve, Yeah, very important, the.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Creator of the entire you know, all creation, you know,
and and the Lord of Lord.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
King of Kings only had twelve a really small circle.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
And then even with those twelve.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
And one can try one was a betrayer.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
I mean of those twelve ers, three that were like
really tight, three.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
That were tight, very tight.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yes, deep, and like.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Just when he was in the garden fighting fight.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
He's like our he's our roadmap, he's our coachmen Jesus.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Amen, you know. And so yeah, so I want to
go to Glacians two twenty because everything we're talking about
in this moment. I have been crucified with Christ. It
is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in
me and the life which I now live in the flesh.
I live by faith in the Son of God who
(11:14):
loved me and gave himself for me. And I'm thinking too,
if somebody has come upon this podcast and they're they're like, oh,
there goes to Christians again, crucified the flesh, what does
that mean? I can't it's being born again, Like like
what I haven't read the Bible, so does that mean
I have to go find across in the life. So
(11:35):
we are going to explain that to as we go.
We're going to give an illustration. I was going to
you know, eventually I'll bring up Matthew nineteen where we
can kind of look at that and say, oh, that's
what it is. It's and what it is is it's
giving up everything to serve God. But ultimately you reap
(11:55):
everything from God that was meant for you to reap
from God.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
So it's an amazing, incredible, awe inspiring principle of.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
The Lord, and our goal is to bring that into
a practical application to where anybody listening can you can say, oh,
I don't have to climb on a real cross, like
somebody nail me there. That sounds extreme, but I just
want to make sure that you know that we explain this.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
So there there's like a like a layman's you know,
kind of you know, street way of like saying it.
So so if you were just like with your friends
at lunch or something, and you'd be like, you know,
you have a really good friend and you're like, hey,
you know that those things that you're doing in your
life that you shared with me are not like helping you.
And you're getting frustrated and you're like, you know, you
(12:46):
know they're not good for you. Just stop doing those right,
that's really what it is. That's good, that's crucifying. If
it's just dining yourself, that's just you know, cutting it
down to the bare bones.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Like that's it.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Just stop doing those things that you know that are
not good for you, right, because you can tell you
know you can. You can fool everybody else maybe, right,
But I'm not saying that you can because I said
earlier that you can't. But but you can try. But
but really yourself, you're the one that's going home with yourself.
You're the one that's sleeping, you know, and and and
(13:18):
you have to be with yourself and and and you know,
those are those things that you just know and with
you know. That's that's for everybody. But people that are
in the Lord, they have the Holy Spirit, yes, guiding them,
the vine and pointing things out.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah, the Word of God Christ, all of it.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
So, yeah, you have an additional helper in that sense.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
If your friend at school is a guitar player, let's say,
and he's in a garage band. Okay, so it's planned, plan,
plan all the lessons or you know, all the kid
togethers and all the practices. It's it's planning. When we
turn it over to God, it becomes his plan and
then he leads us. So we still do the practical things.
You might still take less or the thing you still organize,
(14:02):
but that whole thing of I have to get this right,
and so you're on that spinning wheel of if I
just run faster, I'll get there, whereas God comes in
and says, just do it this way, and then God
lifts the person up.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
That's such a great example.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
I call those associations, and what I mean by that is,
in my mind.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I associate if I do this and that, then this
will happen.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
So it's like projection, it's like and so I create
these these links, these associations that really are rooted in flesh.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
And so the Lord revealed it over the last six months,
He's accelerated this where I'm doing this, and so then
I just take it to him in prayer and fasting. Okay, well,
just you know, I'm going to reveal these things and
then I'm going to rely on you and your strength
and be able to become this and then I won't,
(15:02):
I won't do these things. And so it's you know
it really is.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, crucifying the flesh, Yeah, it's there. You removed yourself
and let God rise up.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Yeah, it's it's all these things we've talked about already
up to this point in this podcast. It's it's leaning
on your own understanding. It's not abiding in the Lord.
It's it's you playing I call it like a mini god,
you know, Like that's one of the things I think
it's more most damaging in the relationship with the Lord
is like when we when we like become like a
(15:38):
mini god, Like we're we're we're playing his role. Only
he can do its role, and so we have to
just surrender and let him lead and guide it and
and uh and direct our steps. You know the words
it says that he directs the steps of the righteous.
That a man can plan his his ways, but in
(15:59):
the in the end, the Lord's ways are what transpires.
I'm paraphrasing, right, I'm famous for paraphrasing.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
It's okay, you have it. We're talking about things that
you gave up to be on the path of God's purpose.
Just within the past six months, this is really recent
had what what had to die in you to be
pruned off or burnt off to move on to this
path of God's purpose.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
I think this very thing that we're talking about, this
tendency to create these associations that are really rooted in flesh,
They're rooted in filters, They're rooted in in pride. Frankly,
I mean if you really just look at it deeply
and you know it was rooted in pride, which which
(16:49):
was like I know better than God. I wasn't being
necessarily rebellious going against him.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
I just wasn't hearing him. Yes, does that make sense?
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Because because I had so much flesh operating and so
much of my own plan that once those things were removed,
then now I'm hearing the voice of the Lord so
much more clearly. And so it wasn't like I was
being rebellious, because rebellion is really hearing from the Lord
and then not doing it being disobedient.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Right, It wasn't really that.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
It's just that I was not doing the things that
I needed to do to really hear from the Lord clearly, definitively,
powerfully and now I am. And it's you know, once
you've tasted and seen that He is good.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
You don't want to go back.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
No, I don't want to go back to those things,
you know.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
I want to like, I want to like pursue this
and keep on this path and even go deeper in this.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
So that's really where I'm at, and it's such a blessing.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
So I had to give up all those those those
you know, associations that was making, leaning on my own
understanding and basically creating my own plan, and since doing that,
it's just been amazing. And here's what I know about God,
that he will do things beyond in.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Ways that we just couldn't even imagine. We're not God.
So it won't look anything like.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
What you thought it might if you were like to
write it out and say, Okay, well I hope it
goes this way.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
And how often do we do that?
Speaker 6 (18:24):
Right?
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Which I mean we have a good heart.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
It's it's you know, when you have a good heart,
you know, it's not like it's not necessarily that you're
you're hoping like you know, a miss or something.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
You know, you have a good heart and you want
good things.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
You want to serve people, but you're still coming at
it from your flesh, and therefore it's spleshly it's going
to reap the flesh, not of the spirit. And so
we want to get to this point where we're everything
we're doing is being led of the spirit, and then
it will have the fruit of the spirit.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
And in Relatians, they got a whole list if you
want to pull that up of the fruitage, so the spirit,
there's nine of them. But don't ask me to rememorize, Like,
I just don't have that gift, and I'm amazed at
people that do. Aren't you just bought away that people
give this like real off scripture.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Someone really good at memorizing. I'm the paraphraser too. Oh
I kind of know, like, Okay, I think it's in
Matthew and here's what it says, and yeah, and God
uses everything.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
I know it's in there somewhere.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
And I think what you were talking about a little
bit ago was just I feel like that's planning backwards,
and it's your heart is in the right place so much,
and then you make this plan and then then that's
when people go to prayer and say, Okay, Lord, n
I need the loan, Lord, Now I need the building, Lord,
nine need. We're talking about flipping that upside down and
crucifying the flesh in aligning with God. Like what you
(19:46):
said just before that, how you came to the place
where you know you were following God in this that
is the perfect description of alignment. So you you are
crucifying your flesh and you are aligning with God when
you align with God and hen Psalms one thirty ninety sixteen,
I am a broken record. If you've listened to any
of these podcasts, you will hear this in every single podcast.
(20:08):
Psalm one thirty nine sixteen talks about how God wrote
down our purpose before the beginning of time. He wrote
out our life before the beginning of time and what
we're destined to do. And so going to God and saying,
unroll the scroll and look at it, Lord, and I
want that now. I want your kingdom to come into
my life. I want your will to be done in
my life. And that is what I'm standing on. And
every time I fall from that, I'm gonna get back up.
(20:30):
I'm gonna put you as God again. I will make
you Lord again. And this is my prayer and my
only prayer. By doing that, in aligning with God, then
we learn. We learn to go to God and say,
what is your plan for today? And he slowly unrolls
that scroll, and as he unrolls that scroll, and that
plan comes into your life and you're taking it step
by step, and you're seeing things fall off and things
(20:53):
people walk away, and things go away. But there's this
thing that builds in your soul and in your spirit
that is now following God. And then instead of begging
God for a building or asking God for a loan,
God supplies that. He says, Oh, by the way, there's
a building over here, and here's how you're going to
acquire it. And here's some boldness, because this is the
(21:16):
grace of God, his strength working in us to achieve
what He needs us to achieve, and us coming along
in enlightenment with God to do that. And so there's
not the begging and pleading and Christmas list anymore. You know,
God is in Santa Claus. He's the Shepherd, he's the Father,
and we're focused on him now rather than money we
can make, or a relationship with somebody. The focus comes
(21:38):
to God and God alone. And then as we focus
on him and his goodness and his love. He reaches
out to us and he begins to unfold things into
our life that he planned, and we calm down and
worry in fear and anxiety start to fall away, and
the support groups come in and the building comes and
the abilities come and he just he'll align with you.
(22:00):
And it's incredible when a god of all creation aligns
with us. Who are we but that he loves us?
Speaker 3 (22:07):
So, you know, I just described the end of this
passage in the Bible, So I'm gonna read the very
end of this passage because I didn't, you know, stopped
at a certain point. But it says, if you abide
in me and my words abide in you, you will
ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
By this, my Father has glorified that you bear much fruit,
(22:29):
so you will be my disciples. Now those desires, you
know what you what you ask. You will ask what
you desire, and it shall be done for you. Those
desires are now coming from God. He's giving you the
desires of your heart. It's not your desires that you're
you're hoping for.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
It's the desires you didn't know you.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Right, exactly. They are all these ones that are like Lord,
I didn't know I had that desire. I didn't realize
that I even had that gift, you know. And and
here you are like birthing something new, and you're bringing
to fruition all these things that.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I didn't even realize existed.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
And so now I'm like, oh, well, let's partner up,
let's link arms in that, let's go that direction.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Yes, that is beautiful, that is beautiful. I'm going to
lead us into Matthew nineteen. I feel like this is
a really good place to do that. For sixteen. Matthew
nineteen will start with for sixteen. Now, behold, one came
and said to him, good teacher, what good thing shall
I do that I may have eternal life? So this
(23:39):
guy knew he could do good, and he knew that
Jesus was a good teacher in his mind or seventeen.
So he said to him, why do you call me good?
No one is good but one, and that is God.
But if you want to enter into life, keep the
commandments Jesus said. You shall not murder, you shall not
commit adultery, shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness,
(24:03):
Honor your father and mother, and you shall love your
neighbor as yourself. The young man said to him, all
these things I have kept from my youth. So you
see that hope building in him, like, oh, I'm doing it,
I'm doing it. I'm gonna get eternal life. Whatever his
picture of eternal life was. This is why he came
to Jesus. But then he asked Jesus, what do I
still lack? Because remember this is the young rich guy
(24:24):
that Jesus was talking to. This guy had wealth, so.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
It sounded pretty good so far.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
And if he had wealth, either inherited it and knew
how to keep it or he build it. You build wealth, right,
So Jesus in verse twenty one said to him, if
you want to be perfect, go sell what you have.
And there's a versions that say sell all you have
and give to the poor, and you will have treasure
in heaven and come follow me. But when the young
(24:51):
man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful or he
had great possessions. I think about this. I'm just gonna
throw this in because I'm I'm sure you have something
too that the Lord has given you. But if you
build wealth, here have you noticed people that build wealth,
have the ability and the skills to build wealth. Meaning
to me, it means in heaven God has in their
(25:14):
scroll written for them that you know, this person, mister
young Ruler, is going to have those gifts that I
put in his dna, that I put in him in
his spirit to build wealth on earth. And of course
God wants the kingdom, built the king his kingdom. And
so this guy was born into earth with these abilities.
(25:35):
So throughout his lifetime he built wealth, or someone in
his line did, and he had the ability to build wealth.
So here he is turning away from Jesus because Jesus
simply said, go sell everything you have to get to
the poor. Well, what happens when he would do that?
It would advance the kingdom of God. It's going to
help poor people. It's going to spread the kingdom, which
(25:55):
is love and goodness and abundance and wealth that comes
from the Father God. Right, So then what happens after that?
He still has his skills and abilities, so he can
go dirt poor, grab a box and start from there
and live in that box and still continue with those
skills and abilities to build wealth again.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
So he just doesn't see that, doesn't know that vision.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
He doesn't see that possibility because he's just so fixated
on what he's already built and not wanting. So that's
that's like a flesh thing where the flesh doesn't want
to have to like, you know, work hard, doesn't want
to go back to what's already been created.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
You know, I've already done all that.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Let me let me, let me uh, what's what it's called, like,
rest on my laurels, Let me enjoy the fruits of
my labor.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Right, you know.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
But the fruits of being in God's perfect will and
being in alignment with his heart and his word and
his presence is beyond precious and it's a treasure that
is more of a blessing and more of a of
(27:05):
anything else that you can possibly imagine in this world,
in this life. And so but really the reason why
people don't just do it right from the beginning is
they just.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
They don't they don't have that vision.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
They just there's a there's something lacking, there's something hindering it,
which is what we're really talking about, you know, the
flesh in the sense, you know, yeah, and the flesh
and the pride, I mean they go hand and so
to speak.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Yeah, they do, they do. So if he would have
crucified his flesh and came and went and followed Jesus
and learned from Jesus and followed through with kingdom stuff,
you know.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
He wouldn't be sorrowful.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
The poor would have taken care of but also the
Lord would have turned to him and said, hey, you know,
mister rich young your lord Dooe Joe Smith or whatever,
We're going to put you in charge of this because
everything you touch builds wealth. And now he is acknowledged
by God himself for the gift God put in him.
He's not only blessed the kingdom once, but now he's
(28:08):
in Jesus circle and now he's building it again.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Does that this is resonating with me?
Speaker 3 (28:14):
This is ministering to me in the moment, because i mean,
I'm not saying that I'm like on equal footing with
this rich ruler, but there there's elements to the story
that applied to me because I've had businesses and I've
had success. So now I'm I'm this is my seventeenth
year with the Lord, and you know, for so many
(28:36):
years I was like still a little baby Christian. You know,
even when it was like ten years I felt like
I'm still new to the Lord. But now I'm like,
you know, I've experienced a lot, you know, in those
seventeen years. And one of the things that I have
a gift for that too. You know, I'm a marketing
director and generally what I do because a lot of
it is because of my work ethic. I work unto
(28:57):
the Lord. I do everything, you know, and actually and
order onto the Lord because he's enough. He's all sufficient,
you know, and he himself, his presidence alone is worthy,
you know, aside from all the other promises that are
yes and amen and all that, and so you know,
it's once once we get to this place, then then
(29:18):
things start to take a different.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Perspective. You know.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
This gift in business that I have now now I'm
really looking at a praying where even as we speak,
you know, like, well, what can I do in the kingdom?
You know that that I can apply these gifts towards
you know, and and you know, I'm using the success
that I'm having with the secular company essentially, and I'm
(29:46):
using it, you know, to to bless ministries to fund things.
So I am it's kingdom related still, yes, but I
think that there's on the horizon, there's going to be
something even more.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
And this is another form of a life.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
It is you know, it's it's it's like now you're
now you're you're aligning your God giving gifts that you've
that you've exemplified and you have fruit to show for it,
and you have success on all that. But now you're
aligning with with God's a purpose and kingdom minded mindset.
(30:20):
You know, the Bible says to be internally kingdom minded.
Don't stop your treasures you're you know, you're earthly treasures,
you know, because they're going to be they'll be stolen
or the moss will eat them. You know, start your
treasures in heaven. Do things that are internal minded. They're
going to lead to, you know, kingdom fruit, internal fruit.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Because Scott, what happens when we pass away and we
go to out of here?
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Yeah, we leave absent present with the Lord.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
When this rich young ruler, Joe Smith, I'm calling him,
when he passed away and his body dropped to the ground, Yeah,
happened to all the wealth that he built and held onto.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
It frittered away into the wind probably, I mean went
into the hands of some of those.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, family or inheritance or.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Something never belonged to him, right, he knew how to
gather it into one place.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Yeah. Well, that principle also is an alignment principle, which
is everything belongs to the God absolutely.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
I mean once we once we understand that that we're
gonna we're going to loosen our grip on certain things
in our lives and in doing so, God's gonna bless us.
But we're gonna feel better about it because we're not
going to have those feelings that we have when we're
holding onto things, because we can feel it tangibly, that's it.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
We can feel it, Like, I don't feel good about this?
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Why am I? Why am I? Why am I hoarding?
Why am I not more generous? I feel really good
when I'm generous. I feel good when i'm giving. I
feel good when when I'm being when I'm not so
when I'm loose with things, I'm not not loose in
an irresponsible way, but but loosening the grip on things. Yes,
I'm not living under this oppression of of like having
(32:03):
to hold on to it. Yeah, you know, it's it's
a it's another way of letting go.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
You're you're out of alignment.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Yeah, essentially, it's like your car. You know, take a car.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Pulls the left, you know what?
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yeah, exactly why does this pull under the left?
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I'm like, can I just let go the steering wheel
and have it still goes straight now because it's out
of alignment?
Speaker 1 (32:24):
And do you get under your car and fix that?
I have no clue to somebody who's professional, who knows
what they're doing.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Yeah, well we should go to the pro that's called
God and Jesus in the Holy Spirit, and he and
he could get us back in alignment.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
We're going to the right, we're going to the left.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
As I was praying over this podcast, the Lord showed
me teeth, teeth, teeth, embraces. You're all honest.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Oh yeah, that's a good that's a good thought.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
I thought, Hey, if it comes to that, Lord, I'll
throw that in.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
So those of you who have had teeth out of alignment,
understand it affects your speech, how you chew, whether you
two on the side of your mouth or bite your tongue,
if you snore at night, if you grind your teeth,
then if you grit your teeth, most a lot of
that most of that according to my Orthodonis says that
that stems from the alignment of your jaw or the
(33:14):
alignment of and or the alignment of your teeth. And
so they put braces on you, and those braces hurt.
I've had them, like they scrape the inside of your mouth.
Then you have to clean you know, all this time
to clean them, and you know, you have to pay
attention to what's going on. You'll you'll just get used
to that and get out of pain, and then you
have to go for the next adjustment and you're you're
(33:35):
suffer a little bit.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Well, I was waiting for that word.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
I was waiting for that word because I was like,
there's there's there's gonna be pain in getting an alignment.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yeah, they'll be pain because it won't feel it won't
feel good at first.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Yeah, you know you're not gonna go to your best
friend and say, hey, throw some braces on me.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
No, you're gonna You're gonna need like the the specialties
the expert to say you really need these.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
And hair is why.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
But even then people might be kicking in screaming before
they actually do it. But they'll they'll be a lot Yeah, well,
it costs a lot.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
To be an alignment.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
That's what we're really talking about. We're talking about the
cost of alignment. But it's so worth it.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
See. The thing is is that how can you know
what you don't know? That's right, you know you can't.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
And so you can have.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
People share their testimonies, which are very powerful because they
can share that they they've gave up these things, they
stopped doing, these things that were in the flesh.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
The Lord called them to to let them go, to
crucify the flesh.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
And now they're experiencing so much peace and joy, and
they don't get triggered like they used to do with
certain things, and they're just much more.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Content. That's I love that word, yes, because it's different
than happiness. Right.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Contentment is like so much deeper, because you can be
content even amidst the greatest of storms. A bad diagnosis,
let's say. And when I say bad, what I really
mean is like something that has yet to be healed
of the Lord. Right, it's like that pre healing stage.
You know, you just found out about it. Yeah, And
(35:14):
I know somebody that was diagnosed with cancer and like
within seconds of that diagnosis in the hospital room, she says,
you know, I rebuked that diagnosis in the name of Jesus.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
I'm not I'm not. I'm not coming in alignment with that.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
And she was reeling off scriptures and right away she
just attacked with the word of God and the presence
of the Lord and and she went through a process,
but she ultimately was healed of that cancer, which was
like stage four breast cancer or something like that. And
she did it immediately because she knew the word of
God and she aligned with the Lord. And right there
(35:49):
in the spot, So like knowing the word of God,
knowing when to use these things. You know his word,
and he'll think he'll bring things to remembrance. And that's
that's like the power powerful. I'll always remember that because
to the extent that I can. If that ever happens
to me in any way, and I do it in
the other ways of life, I just immediately go into
prayer and whatever I can remember the Word, you know,
(36:12):
and he'll bring these things to remember.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
And so it's it's all these things that we're talking about.
It's really so powerful.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
We're just giving it a moment. Let that sink in.
Really the Holy Spirit is moving in this studio. Bless you, Lord,
So the rich young ruler could have accepted this call
to walk with Jesus Christ. And we have that option
(36:41):
to accept following Jesus Christ when Jesus looks at us
and says, follow me, when the Holy Spirit is tapping
on her shoulder, you know, and saying, list aligne with God.
It's time.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
You.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
You may go through something like job. My personal test
money was going through something like job where you have
your plan so in place and solid, your teeth are
so far out of alignment or you know, everything that
I had done personally, I felt like, you know, I
was a Christian, but I had the backwards plan. You know, Lord,
(37:19):
I want this relationship. Please show me a sign. I
want to marry.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
There's the house, Lord, help us get the loved.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
And then then realizing that it wasn't his plan and
he had to disassemble all of that to bring forth,
And because I asked him to and I held on,
I just held on to God. He did it very quickly,
(37:51):
and I am thankful. It was a very tough time,
but I'm very thankful that he did everything the way
that he did in the end and just got it
over with he pretty much put me in surgery and
just straighten all my teeth without braces. I felt like,
but I wouldn't trade it for the world. And now
these gifts that he wrote into my DNA, that he
(38:11):
planeted within me, that the Holy Spirit is bringing out
of me are all God focused. Now everything is a
focus on God. And just walking through every moment of
every day and every assignment. And even when I do
it wrong, I realize the Holy Spirit will say to me, oh,
let's back up. You know you're going to grow in this.
(38:32):
You're going to heal, and then we're going to We're
going to we're going to put this back together correctly.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
This time brought to a remembrance of scripture in Isaiah.
It's Isaiah forty eight ten, and it says, behold, I
have refined you, but not as silver. I have tested
you in the furnace of affliction. So we often like
the last thing that we're asking for, the last thing
(39:01):
that we want, is affliction. But right here it says
that the Lord himself will refine us through the furnace
of affliction. And so you know, affliction comes in you know,
many shapes and sizes, yes, and and and so these
(39:23):
some of these afflictions are actually consequences for being in
the flesh. Making decisions from the flesh. Our pride are
are our plan, our rebellion towards the Lord. If we're
hearing from the Lord and we're like, no, thank you,
I appreciate you sharing, Lord, but I have a plan
(39:44):
over here, and I think I'll go that direction. Well
there's consequences for that, yes, But the Lord is faithful,
and even in that, he will he will refine us
through the afflictions, that through our consequences, because he's always
trying to restore us back to him. Yes, the whole
(40:06):
Bible is a story of coming back to the Lord
and and just you know where where we were in
the garden, where where his his initial uh reason for
creating us, you know, coming back to the beginning of
the garden, you know, the Garden of Eden, coming back.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Yeah, so when when he came down to look for them,
he found them right away until they felt.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Yeah. So I don't know when you want to do
this song, but the song.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
I was just going to segue into that for you, Okay.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
Well, yeah, there's there's a song that the Lord downloaded
and it's it's literally a prayer. It's called all of you,
and it's uh, it's a prayer about what really what
we're talking about. There's a line here that says, we
did desire all of you remove everything that takes your place,
(41:06):
remove it. But we need to know, we have to
be aware of what we're doing that is taking the
place of the Lord. So this is where this is
where biding him will reveal these things. And then well
then we have something to take to prayer. We can
take those things to prayer. We can't take the prayer
when we're not aware of and so it does require awareness,
(41:28):
and awareness.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Comes with being tethered with the Lord, intimate with the Lord.
So the song is called all of You.
Speaker 5 (41:54):
We seek all of you.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
Because nothing else will do. Of all else, we're letting go,
and you're abounding love.
Speaker 5 (42:19):
We shall know who we find all of you. We
bring to your altar.
Speaker 6 (42:46):
A spirit that is humble, fully surrender.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
We lay it all down.
Speaker 5 (43:06):
We desire.
Speaker 6 (43:08):
All of you, remove everything that takes your place. The
allure of the city lights fill us with thresholds as
(43:37):
we experience all of you. There isn't anything we are
(43:59):
whole ding onto, but.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
The head.
Speaker 6 (44:14):
Of your garments, heal us small from the inside out,
(44:38):
deliver us.
Speaker 5 (44:41):
From what keeps us from You.
Speaker 6 (44:49):
Lord, we heard for all of you, with every fabric
I've bobby.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
To see what you are, see to feel less you
feel until we fine all of you.
