Aquesta vegada ens situem a Saint Andrews, a la costa est d'Escòcia. Una població coneguda pel seu pes històric, religiós i universitari. Repassem els orígens medievals del lloc, vinculat a la figura de Sant Andreu, patró d’Escòcia, i també destaquem el paper de la ciutat en la Reforma protestant, amb la catedral —avui en ruïnes— i el castell com a escenaris d’un passat convuls de conquestes i destruccions. Evidentment no hi podia faltar el golf, ja que Saint Andrews és considerat el bressol mundial d’aquest esport. Un altre punt destacat és la Universitat de Saint Andrews, la més antiga d’Escòcia (1413), elitista i de gran prestigi internacional. Finalment, el Santi també ens recomana una visita a les platges East Sands i West Sands, aquesta última famosa per l’escena inicial de la pel·lícula Chariots of Fire, amb música de Vangelis. Tot plegat fa de Saint Andrews un indret petit però ple d’història, paisatge i curiositats.
