Der genereres enorme mængder plastaffald på hospitalerne. Så i 2016 indledte Region Midtjylland "materialestrømsprojektet" (i daglig tale: plastprojektet) på Aarhus Universitetshospital. Målet var, at plastaffald skulle ses som en ressource - noget der kunne skabes gennem værdikæde-samarbejde og nye forretningsmodeller. Men plast er jo ikke bare plast, og projektet skulle tage livtag med industrien ud fra en ny tankegang - og det var altså længe før klima kom på alles læber.
