Ep 22: Podcrastinaton, Religion In Ireland & Twelve Tribes Cult

The first episode of 2022, we talk about religion in Irish schools. Should students be allowed to leave during religion class? We give our opinion and what we would do in this situation. We also talk about surviving Covid 19, how to throw a funeral and Sinead O'Connor. All this and more on this episode of CackTalk!

Jake and Matthew both started of the year by contracting coronavirus, they discuss there experience with the virus. Recently the group, Atheist Ireland, have made an appeal to the UN, asking them to discuss allowing children the option to leave religion class. Atheist Ireland claims there is religious discrimination in Irish schools currently. Ireland's most common schools are primarily catholic even though it is no longer a Catholic country. Should it be mandatory to study this religion if this is the case? The boys give their opinions and possible alternative ideas. Following on from this discussion the boys discuss the story of the controversial Christian sect, Twelve Tribes, in Colorado. The group started a fire on one of their properties which exploded into a wildfire in the surrounding area. It ended up being the worst recorded wildfire in the state's history. Twelve Tribes was already a controversial group due to their extremist views and teachings. After this Jake and Matthew discuss the best ways to throw a funeral, to alleviate the grief caused by death, finally they talk about the alarming recent tweets from famous singer Sinead O'Connor. These tweets came following the recent death of her son.
