Speaker 1 (00:05):
I'm Tom Ray promoting successful business experts connecting people throughout
the world from my podcast studio in Brazil. Joining US
study from Luxembourg. Damien Shres, technology mentor, podcast host, explainer
in chief of easy Tech, providing it training, coaching on
Apple products, Microsoft Office, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. So, Damian,
(00:32):
what is the secret to consistently producing content?
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Well, thank you for the question, Tom. This is something
that I've thought about and not long ago, I had
like an epiphany in the shower that's where they come
yes oftentimes yes. And I'm a big automation person, and
(00:58):
I thought, Okay, this must be the reason why I've
been able to consistently produce content. But then I thought
about it, and because I'm also I'm an engineer. I've
trained as an engineer, I like to think in equations,
and so I came up with what I call the
consistency formula. And so it has different components like in
(01:22):
any formula, and there are things at the top at
the numerator, which means that the higher those things are,
the more consistent we are. But then we have also
something at the denominator, so it's like a fraction something
a bunch of things divided by a bunch of other things, right,
and those things they actually reduce our consistency. So at
(01:48):
the top we have proficiency, systems, automation, and fun. So
the more proficient we are, obviously the more consistent we
will be with something. And I think this is also
why some people they stop too early, because to be
(02:09):
to be proficient, you also need to be consistent. So
there's a there's a kind of a feedback loop here, right,
But being proficient is not enough. We need also systems
and we need automations or systems is having checklists for residents,
having standard operating procedures, but.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Your process, defining your processes.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Exactly exactly, defining a process so that every time you
have to produce content, it's not going from square one anymore.
And the reason why it's important to have systems is
that once you have documented your process, you can start
to look for places where you could start automating, replacing
(02:57):
manual operations by automation, automating stuff and.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Today with the artificial intelligence is more important.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Right, exactly, yes. And then the last component at the
numerator is FUN because I realized you can have all
of that you can you can be proficient, you have
systems and automation. But if you hate yeah, i'm a podcaster, right,
if you hate speaking to a microphone, well, I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
That's not only and I agree with you because one
of the when I say a secret to success, and
I learned that from others, you need to like what
you're going to do and if you don't like it,
and that's part of me. If you're having fun, generally
you're liking it, and then you'll do it not only better,
you'll probably do it more consistently as you're saying, and
(03:50):
it comes out better, it seems more user friendly content
and more you think people get thempression that you like
what you do and you know what you do, and
sometimes those are hard to get across. Yeah, especially from
an engineer. Don't don't take me wrong, but when process
(04:11):
oriented type things are process oriented type things, and they
don't seem to be very friendly or warm.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
No, it's true. That's why I think that this this
fun component is very very important.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
But that's from your personal side. You put a fun
component in from yourself.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Right, yes, exactly. Yeah, you need to have fun producing content, right,
The more fun you have producing content, the more you
will want to do it.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
When I'm saying yourself, but all of your clients, you
help them understand that that's the important content part of content.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yes, yes as well, Yes you're right. I didn't think
about that, but yes, you're right. You need to have
fun while producing content at the same time.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Right, so that it's I think that's more important today
than today because of the advent of artificial intelligence. But
what I'm seeing persons just wanting to plug in something
and letting it run. But I think that takes out
the personal touch.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah, you're right. We need more than ever, we need
the personal touch. We need to when I listen to
podcasts or when I watch videos, I want to feel
that there is there is a human on the other side, right,
and I want to and and and the funnel aspect
also gives the connection, the connection with with the listeners.
(05:39):
So if you are bloggers, it would be the written
words and or we have we as a podcaster or
doing videos on YouTube. Right.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
I think the challenge is, I agree with you, is
use the word authenticity. Is to show authenticity through your
voice if you're going to voice podcast like we're doing,
or through the text, the way you write, the way
you express yourself, because text content is still important, even
(06:11):
though many people I'm a believer of voice searchable content,
so that's one of my drivers, but the text content
is still relevant. So you know, we need to prevy
ourselves our soft side in each one of those modules.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, totally.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
And your your podcast which is called mac Prener podcast
that's specific to Mac users or users in general.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, yeah, so that that would be for entrepreneurs what
I call also solopreneurs, right, who cannot imagine running the
business on anything else other than a Mac computer, an
Apple computer.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Well, and that's pretty typical for many companies, and you're
saying solo. That's basically the way it is again today
here in Brazil specifically many other places, people are starting
out on their own because they can and you know,
having access, let's to a Mac computer, it basically gives
(07:15):
you all the systems, It gives you all the hardware,
an access to things that you really need. So they
don't need people. We always need people, but systems wise,
you set up very quickly, right yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah, And for me, we're back to the fun component.
For me, it's fun to use the market it's more
fun to use a MAG than a PC. I have
both because I'm giving Microsoft Office training, so large corporation,
so obviously I come with. I still have a Windows
PC that I come with a laptop, but I have
(07:54):
more fun using using my Mac. And back to the
systems and automation. It's all so easier to automate stuff
to have systems using a Mac. And season six, which
is the current season of the macon podcast, I interview
a lot of solopreneurs who share their stories how they
(08:17):
ended up having a Mac, and I would say at
least twenty percent of those are like horror story of
things going wrong with the Windows VC and they were
fed up and they say enough is enough, Let's try
this Mac thing. And they didn't look back. They say, Okay,
now now I have found the platform where I like
(08:39):
to work.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Very good. Well, thanks for being How can our listeners
