(00:00):
Hello, Welcome to another Martin Hewlettsession, this one calming in overactive mind.
So as before, find yourself ina nice, comfortable, quiet area,
preferably lying down away from all distractions. Turn your phone off or put
it on silent, and just takehalf an hour out now to enjoy your

(00:24):
time and quieting down that mind.So as you lie there, just let
your eyes gently close, and we'regoing to bring our attention to your breathing.
Every breath out now, I wantyou to imagine a warm wave of
relaxation flow from the top of yourhead every time you breathe out. Just

(00:49):
let that relaxation increase and flow downover your forehead and over your face.
Every time you breathe out, justlet the muscles relax, unwind, all
the tension just disappearing with every outbreath. Every time you breathe in, breathe

(01:14):
and relaxation, and then when youbreathe out, just let all the tension
drift away. As that wave ofrelaxation now flows into your neck, down
into your shoulders, feel them gentlyunwind and release the tension, all the

(01:36):
stress just drifting away with every gentleoutbreath, that sense of relaxation building and
growing and flowing down your arms, through your elbows and into your fingers.
Just feel them now drifting down, feeling heavier but relaxed, no stress,

(02:04):
no tension, Just let them sinkinto the bed again every breath out that
that wave build and flow into yourchest. Feel all the tension unwind release
with every outbreath, and almost imaginethe tension blowing out through your outbreath.

(02:31):
Become aware of the gentle rise andfall of your stomach, and again,
as you breathe out, any tensionjust fades away, softly, endlessly,
going relaxed, giving deeper with everybreath, that wonderful wave of relaxation now

(02:59):
flowing creasing down through your hips.Again, just imagine all the tension drifting
away through every outbreath, relaxing youfurther down, deeper, calmer, more
relaxed, your legs now unwinding, any hint of stress, just leaving your

(03:27):
legs flowing away as that relaxation flowsinto your knees, down your calves,
and into your feet. Every breathout, relaxed, deeper, calma,
quieter, preparing yourself to focus onyour mind, on understanding, calm,

(03:58):
on letting any anxiety you go justfurther down, more relaxed, with every
passing breath, and we're going tocount from ten down to one, and
on every account you'll drift off deeperand deeper, more and more relaxed,

(04:23):
calm at ease, taking time toheal. Ten. Imagine any stress now
just leaving you through your own breath, sinking further down into the bed,
all your muscles unwild, relaxed, calm, deep, nigh deeper, slower,

(04:56):
calmer eight, drifting off further, drifting down, deeper, deeper,
calmer eight, relaxed, peaceful,Notice your breath, the rise and fall

(05:24):
seven, sinking ever further into arelaxed state, gaining access to your subconscious
six gentle deep, relaxed our breath, sending any last into stress or tension

(05:46):
out three lungs, five still deeper, more relands. Let that wave of
relaxation increase surrounding you soft below fall, so calm now, so rested at

(06:14):
peace. Three gentle deep easy breaths, so relaxed and calm. Two deeper
further down, relaxed, still, one deeper, deeper, deeper. Just

(06:49):
let you're breathing be a natural rhythm, that gentle, consistent rise and fall,
and if your mind wanders, justnotice it and then bring your attention
back to my voice. And thenyou're breathing, and be mindful. Every

(07:12):
breath out is another step further tobeing calm, to letting any anxiety go.
This is your time just to relaxand be at peace, deeper down,
calmer, quiet, rested and still. And now that we've relaxed,

(07:38):
I want you to imagine a placeanywhere, be at your favorite hill field,
woodland, room, whatever you choose. This will be a space for
you to anchor your mind whenever youneed to be calm and to study yourself.

(08:00):
So take a minute just to formulatethat place where you know you can
go and within your own mind becalm and safe. And now take your

(08:20):
mind there, picture all the sounds, the senses, the light, the
temperature, and settle yourself in there, relaxed and calm. And again,
as you imagine yourself in this safespace, just relax down further, deeper

(08:46):
and deeper, and if other thoughtscome into your mind, accept them and
note them. It's perfectly normal, and then put them to one side for
later. Bring your attention back towhere you are now, your gentle breathing
the deep relaxation that you get fromthis breathing and relax down deeper and deeper.

(09:20):
Now that you're here, you havetime to reflect on those things that
have caused you stress. You havetime now to assess carefully and with a
clarity never before available to you,the importance and the relevance of so many
different things. You realize that youhave fallen into a habit of reacting in

(09:43):
a manner which has proved stressful foryou. You have reacted to stress in
the same way that a ball respondsto a red rag. You resolve now
to all those red facts and calmlyreflect and decide on the most peaceful and

(10:07):
effective way to live your life, calmly, confidently, in control, knowing
that you are in control of youand your life, outside influences and factors.
Other people's opinions, They are justtheir opinions words. You are in

(10:37):
control of what you do and howyou feel. So when you become anxious,
you now have the tools to becalm, to take stock, to
breathe, knowing that you can soeasily calm that anxious mind that you used

(11:01):
to have. And we're now goingto go and meet the old ye So
I want you to imagine walking alonga path, and in front of you,
in this path is a giant, full length mirror, and in that
mirror is a reflection of the oldU, the anxious you, the overactive

(11:28):
mind. And I want you tomagnify all the negative traits of the old
Yu. Look how nervous you are, Look at your posture, magnify them,
Brighten the color, the sense ofunease, the anxiety. And I

(11:52):
want you to make them come outof that mirror and stand them in front
of you, look down on them, make them small and irrelevant. That's
it. Tower over the old you, and let them walk away and fade
into the past, because that iswhere they belong. And once they've gone,

(12:18):
look back at the mirror and lookat yourself, now taking steps to
change from an anxious, persistently thinkingperson. Look how calm you've become.
Any problems that come your way,you now know you will find solutions.

(12:41):
We all have problems, but younow choose to deal with them in a
mature and effective way. And Iwant you to bring the new Yew out
of that mirror, stand the newYou in front of you, to apply
the confidence, the expectation every positivetrait that you've ever desired. I want

(13:09):
you to imagine that in the newview. Look up at them, Look
how they stand proud, tall, confident, that radiant smile upon their face.
And we'll follow them over the forthcomingdays, weeks, and months,
and look at how purposeful they strideforward, facing anything that life throws at

(13:35):
them with a confidence and a purposefulness. Understanding that we all face situations,
but now you know you will findsolutions. You can wrap any of the
problems that come your way up andput them in their rightful place. You

(14:00):
have the strength within to calm yourself, and now bring your mind back to
your own space where you can becalm. I want you now to breathe
out. Just think of the numberone on every outbreath. Repeat to yourself

(14:28):
one whenever you breathe out. Relax, gentle breaths in calming you, centering
you. You breathe out, Visualizeand number one in your mind. Focus

(14:50):
on one with every outbreath, centeringyou, washing away any anxiety, helping
you remain calm and focused. Everyout breath, Now feel yourself seeking further

(15:15):
and deeper down one. No otherthoughts, just a breathing my voice out
breath, just let yourself float awaydeeper down, so relaxed any problems that

(15:41):
come your way. Now as soonas you feel the anxiousness rise, close
your eyes, breathe and repeat inyour mind one and just let the stress
and the strain flow away, calmingyou, centering you, and preparing yourself

(16:06):
to find the solution. Relaxed andcalm and positive, because you have it
within you now to make these permanentpositive changes that will help you with any
situation that comes your way. Again, relaxing you so deeply down, knowing

(16:33):
that deep within you have the resourceto take care of anything that comes your
way. You are worth it,You are perfect as you are, calm
dependent. Relax again, think ofany situation where the anxiety would come,

(17:03):
and again, breathe out one, feel yourself completely relax further down, calma,
knowing that you will find solutions, more relaxed, more happy, content

(17:25):
with every passing moment. You cannow be aware of the peace, the
calm, the confidence that fills youexpanding within you and you enjoy the stillness,

(17:47):
the warmth of the sun, thesubtle sounds of nature all around.
Just remarks, it's all the troublesand cares into unimportance insignificance. You feel
so much stronger now, aware thatthe strength comes deep. It was there

(18:12):
all the time, you just neededto unlock it and accept it. So
if you ever feel burdened or stressed, you can now choose to calm your
mind, bring yourself to this spacedeep within your mind, relax and breathe,

(18:36):
and understand that you're in control ofyour life. You have taken responsibility
for how you feel. You canchoose now to face any situation rationally and
calmly, without fear, without worry, And should you be overthinking, you

(19:00):
know you can come here again aswell, and just relax, focusing on
your breath, that persistent rhythm oflife, breathing in hand down one,
every breath releasing tension, fear, anxiety, stress or worry, every breath

(19:27):
in bringing new life, hope, calming, happiness, every breath out,
taking away negativity, fear. Justrelax so deeply, knowing that these changes
will take group permanently and positively inyour subconscious, keeping you calm, keeping

(19:55):
you free of anxiety. Relax down, deeper, calmer, and let's just
bring our mind back to your spaceand sent to yourself here, knowing that

(20:17):
you can access this calming area wheneveryou need. Whenever an issue arises,
you can sit down, close youreyes, briefly, breathe out, save
one in your mind, and accessthis area to remain calm, consolidate your

(20:40):
thoughts, find solutions, move onand be content and happy. And every
time you do this, it willjust reinforce the strength that you have found,
changing your subconscious permanently for the better. And you'll notice this creeping into

(21:02):
every aspect of your daily life. And you will go forward from here feeling
stronger and more confident with every passingday, relaxing further down, calm and
quiet. And so the choice nowis yours. You can either drift off

(21:33):
into a happy, contented sleep,or at the end of the music choose
to wake up. But what wehave talked about will take hold permanently and
positively, and you can come backto this taper any time. Relax down
and know that every time you taketime out you will change in a positive

(22:00):
way. Relax down and calm deeperand deeper. And in a moment you'll

(22:27):
hear me snap my fingers like this, And when I snap my fingers,
you can open your eyes fully orientatedto the world around you, to the
sights and sounds, and the wordsthat I have spoken will be there forever
in your subconscious, helping you faceanxiety and calm your mind. So five

(22:52):
nice, full, calm, deepbreath, revitalizing all the muscles and es.
Four imagine cold spring mountain water overyour face, revitalizing the senses over
your eyes, your nose, yourmouth. Three another deep breath, filling

(23:15):
the lungs up, becoming more awareof the outside world. Two starting to
stretch, and one eyes open, nay on anyone meting
