Intro by: Gail Nobles

Song written by: Dick Holler
Song: Abraham, Martin, & John

There is a song written giving tribute to the memory of four assassinated Americans, all icons of social change: Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy. It was written in response to the assassination of King and that of Robert Kennedy in April and June 1968, respectively. The song was written by Dick Holler.

Each of the first three verses features one of the men named in the song's title. It starts with Abraham. It's kind of a sad song to me.

The song has been recorded by many recording artists, but my favorite is Marvin Gaye's version which became a hit in the UK.
