Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to WCAT radio, your home for authentic Catholic programming.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Guy, this is Deacon al Bowilski, and good to be
back with an addition of Catholic Mysticism and the Supernatural,
where we talk about issues of our beautiful Catholic faith
and certainly the supernatural aspects of our faith and speaking
with that. It's a beautiful segue into today's segment because
(00:28):
one of the things that I find, especially since I
became a deacon and I met now a wide variety
across section of people throughout the ministry's plus, I've been
traveling a lot. I had the privilege and I'll touch
on this later, of being in Europe and Mexico for
the Shrines of Fatoma, our Lady of Lords, the shrine
(00:52):
where our Lady appeared to Saint fan Diego and Guadalupe.
I also had an incredible experience at the Eucharistic Congress
that was held this summer in July in Indianapolis. But
like I said, I'll get to that a little bit later.
But in these travels and these processes is an interesting
thing I have found is that one it's like a
(01:17):
parallel here sort of there's one extreme and then another.
I find that many people, including people that are following
our Catholic faith, they love the faith, they love the prayers,
they love the certainly the liturgy and the Mass, they
love receiving the eucharists. But when it comes down to
say something like reading scripture or the supernatural aspects of
(01:41):
our state of our faith, say, the apparitions that I
mentioned at Lords are fatima or bilocutions where they can't
understand how can one person be in one place at
you know, two particular places rather at one time, or
visions or some of the miracles, especially Eucharistic miracles, because
(02:04):
you know, we're so hardened by science. I guess this
is the word I'm looking for, that we have to
now feel for something to be real, for something to
be in our reality and call it reality, it has
to be proven by science. This is clearly a false assumption.
(02:25):
There are many things in this mysterial world that God created,
and certainly in our faith, that we are not getting
any answers to this side of eternity. And that's I know.
In this age of social media and such scientific technology
that has explode in in advance and done so many
(02:46):
good things that's hard for folks, including Catholics to understand.
And that's one extreme that for example, you know, Jesus
really didn't exercise demons. These people might have been ill.
We didn't know what those people of ancient days didn't
know what certain diseases are that we know of now.
(03:08):
The Red Sea really wasn't parted. It was just kind
of like a swamp that they went through. The feeding
of the five thousand, the miracle was more like sharing
than an actual miracle of feeding over five thousand people
with leftovers. And then you have the other extreme that
(03:30):
do believe in the supernatural world and are practicing a
type of faith to them, and that are people that
believe in the occult that practice the occult now. And
I don't know if they're trying to soften the blow
(03:51):
some of the Satanists today and people that are involved
in some of the occult practices by saying, well, we
don't really believe in Satan or the demon saying this
is just another avenue for our us to touch in
to our spirituality, which we think is a natural thing.
I don't know if I buy that. Uh, you know,
(04:12):
anytime you're involved with the demonic. Uh, you're opening the
door to a world of trouble. So I maybe the
people are soft playing this a little bit because they
really know what's going on here and they don't want
to scare people off. I don't know. I can't know that.
But nonetheless, when you open the door for trouble, it's coming.
(04:37):
And these people do believe in supernatural existence and powers.
They cast spells. A matter of fact, one of the
biggest companies I think it's, uh which Witchcraft, witch Talk,
or's TikTok something like that Witchcraft TikTok. It's like two
(04:59):
point three billion dollars that they're raking in. And basically
the sites this isn't the only one they sell spells.
They show you and give you enough how to make
potions and basically anything you want that's involved in the
dark side, they can supply for you. So you have
(05:22):
these extremes where you have good people that believe in
God but don't necessarily believe in many supernatural aspects. It's
more of a reason rather than a heart or spirit
filled face for some of the folks. And then you've
got this other that absolutely knows that there is a
(05:42):
supernatural existence and they try and tap into it to
have power over people and control over their lives and
possibly others. And so, what's really happening here and what
do we have as Catholics to be concerned about here? Well,
you'd be surprised at the amount of Catholics that I
(06:03):
run into have told me they've had their fortune told,
they went to palm readers, They've even had mediums to
contact loved ones. They've dealt with wach aboards, They've gone
to specific sites that have bad history and you know,
some tragedies involved. To visit these things is you know,
(06:26):
some kind of thrill or experience they wish to have
and seek to see what really happened in these these
you know, sometimes horrific events, and they don't realize that
they're putting themselves in danger. They don't realize that they
really need to go to confession. And this is the
danger that we run into because the occult is exploded,
(06:48):
and not just by the youth. I think we can
understand that many people that are young today, you know,
they feel with generation that's before them, that's my let
them down. You know, we didn't do a really good
job of promoting the things that were left to us,
and we kind of dropped the ball, and they're searching,
(07:10):
you know, and they're searching in many times in the
wrong places. So because God has put this desire in
our hearts, because we are spiritual beings, and put the
desire in our heart to do good, to want to
seek Him, even when we don't even realize, or it
could be even atheistic, but that desire is still put
(07:32):
there in our heart to seek this good, to seek something.
And when we run into the problem with the occult,
even if we feel as I mentioned the Catholics that
went and you know, maybe babble and had the palms
or the tarot cards, whatever it is. And reiki yoga,
(07:53):
which I'll just say for a minute on the yoga is.
I know a lot of Catholics participate in it, and
a lot of people do. And what the Church teaches,
according to the Catechism is that if you do the
exercises in yoga without any of the prayers, we're out
tapping into any of the spirituality that would lead you
away from God. It's okay. But the minute you start
(08:14):
doing say the Eastern philosophies or the prayers or some
kind of mantra. Now you're you're in trouble because the church,
you know, they'll say that you should not engage in
that because that now a different realm. It's just not
a physical exercise. Now we're starting to tap into, you know,
more of the spiritual aspect of yoga, which could lead
(08:37):
you away from Christ. So we've got to be very
careful with that. But the others, the reiki, the Ouija boards,
the tarot cards, all at if you've been involved in that,
and even if you didn't think it was harmless, you
know the reality is that the demons don't really care
if you think it was harmless fun or just the prank.
(09:02):
They have a channel or a portal to get through
and direct havoc in your life. And that's why you've
got to be very careful and not engaging these practices.
And if you have just you know, go to confession.
Jesus forgives anything there is, So go to confession, get
(09:23):
clean and start anew and stay away from that kind
of thing. And so with this explosion, you cull with
the youth, as I was saying, they can we can
kind of in a way understand it because they are
searching for stuff, and they've been let down. They've been
let down by sometimes the entertainers that they look up to,
(09:44):
the athletes, the politicians, sometimes their family, sometimes their peers,
their education system. Many things today, many things and many
challenges that my generation didn't have to deal with. But
the rise in your Call isn't just youth. It's middle
aged people, it's well to do people. It's professional people
(10:05):
that are also searching and have enabled this, the business
of the occult, to explode into the billions. And that's
a scary thing because when we look at what's going
on in our world today, it's not really new. As
(10:27):
it's saying goes, nothing much changes under the sun. It's
not really new that when was happening two thousand years ago,
when Christianity started to take hold after Christ's resurrection, and
we know through the acts of Apostles that the early
Church was beginning and they had to battle the predominant
(10:50):
religions at that time of the many paganistic practices that
were involved. Many pagan religions, they had a god for everything,
a god for a frog, a god for the sun,
a god for the moon, a god for a blade
of grass. It was incredible and Christianity had to deal
with this. So you had most of the culture at
(11:12):
that time beginning believing, excuse me, in many multiple gods,
and Christianity said, no, there is one. It was in
line with that monotheism that the Jewish people, the chosen people,
believe one God and not the worship of many. There
was only one, and through Christ's resurrection, Christianity took place
(11:38):
and believed in him. In the resurrected Christ, the Son
of God, part of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit, which was that loggerheads with the pagan religions
and rituals at that time, so there had to be
a conflict, and as we know, Christianity prevailed. It survived
(12:04):
the paganistic culture and flourished and continues to this day. However,
Paganism was really never went away, and some of the
pagan practices we see today are the same ones that
were there in Rome and in the early Jewish history.
(12:25):
They are the same. You have for instance, where like
with gnostics, where there was just an enlightened few and
they were the only ones. They had this knowledge. They
were set aside, they were special, and they were the
ones that could control things that knew better that could
dictate to people's lives, and then they were the ones
(12:46):
that would be in, you know, saved in this spiritual realm.
You had people that certainly believed in the gods of nature,
and you have that today with Mother Earth. You hear
that saying also and Giah and these goddesses that pertain
(13:07):
to creation. So that hasn't gone away. The enlightened people
have not gone away. The arianism that was such a
major major confrontation for the early Church, where Jesus was
you know, we doubt about his natures. What do you
(13:28):
mean too, what do you mean a divine nature? What
do you mean a human nature? What do you mean?
He had both? You know, you see this today where yeah,
you know Jesus, Yeah, I've heard him and then I've
read about him. He's a pretty good guy, good humanitarian,
but you know, good philosopher, great, awesome, had a good message.
But no, no, no, not a god a god. So
(13:50):
you see this still today. And the dangerous part for
us today and not just for the United States of America,
which is what I'm going to focus on, but for
the rest of the world, is that when we pick
up a newspaper and when we turn on the evening
(14:10):
news or your iPhone, your mobile devices, whatever it is,
in this in this info age we live in, you
can see the amount of tragedies, the amount of catastrophes,
the hardship of many people, and just what the heck
is going on in this world of ours. And just
(14:33):
for a quick reference point, not to say two down
on this, You've got two wars Ukraine and Russia. You've
got the war now in the Middle East, they all
and these things to be heating up. You've got the
political spectrum, especially now in this country. And I just
certainly if you're paying attention to news, you know what's
going on there. And you've got these you know, rumors
(14:55):
of wars, and you've got all these these incredible shootings
and just incredible tragedies all around, weather related and then
the ones by our own sins against man's in humanity
to man. And that's the danger for us, brothers and sisters,
(15:16):
is that this country, whether you believe in the rebusiness
history or not, with the founding fathers, and that what
that is now is that they didn't set this country
up under Judaeo Christian principles. But believe me, if you
take the time to read their writings and do the
research they did. This country was set up for Judeo
(15:36):
Christian under Judaeo Christian principles, which we now have gotten
away from. And that's basically what's happening here in the danger.
Do the United States of America, which is so influential world,
do we become pagan? Are we at that point? We're
(16:00):
now paganism and the occult practices and all these so
called harmless practices of Mother Earth and absorbing many philosophies
and relying on a spiritual reality that has nothing to
do with original sin. Therefore, you don't need a savior
(16:24):
that we, meaning man and through our technology, establish a
paradise on earth through a human effort and our scientific
advancement in technology. And you know that, in a way
is a religion for the people that believe. And it's
(16:44):
attractive religion. And that's why I believe it's attracting youth,
all kinds of people. Because I mentioned a little while
ago that God put this desire in our heart to
do good, to have a common good, to seek something
better than ourselves, to seek that spiritual nature in us.
(17:05):
And when we have this is an attractive religion because
if it's packaged that, there's no original sin. So what
that really means is there's no accountability here. We can't
be blamed for any faults. And on a flip side
of that, if there is a God, then you know what,
we can blame him because he didn't do a real
(17:26):
good job creating this world because look at all the
grief and suffering we have. So you have this attractive
part where we're not responsible for anything goes on. What's
responsible is oppression of people. Certain groups of people in
(17:46):
power oppress those underneath them, and that is the cause
of all problems, not original sin, not a fall. So
therefore you don't need Christ, you don't need a savior.
We are the savior. Now. If that's not awful familiar
to you, it should because that's what was going on
(18:07):
in the Garden of Eden. Satan didn't deny the existence
of God. What he told that in an eve was
that he will be like God, and that's what they wanted,
and that pride got famine, everybody else into trouble. So
they were accountable. So we don't have that accountability today
because the new religions, the religion of today, if you will,
(18:30):
doesn't count that we're not responsible. It's others. It's that
oppression that's responsible for the grief. Therefore it has to
be removed, and we can do that through our again
human effort and scientific technology plus the full bills. For
the folks that involve themselves in is that desire to
do good, that the desire to seek and be something
(18:52):
bigger than yourself. So you can see that this is
a very attractive package. And when you start to dabble
the occult with that, then maybe speed up the process,
or gain control or feel self worth. It'll get into
a movement that can change the thing. Even if your
intent is good and you're unsuspecting, you have opened the
(19:16):
Pandora's box. Because one thing we know about the demonic
realm and about Satan is they have one thing in mind,
our complete utter destruction, and not only to destroy us,
but all that God created. Because Satan is a counterfeitter.
He counterfeits everything that God made that is good or
(19:39):
tries to and through our own temptations, in our own
choices to follow that, we can have the most catastrophic
thing happened to us, the loss of our souls and
that is what they want. And that's why I mentioned
that even if you think that this is going, say
(20:00):
you go to Salem, Massachusetts and you participate in some
of their things around Halloween, You've got to be very
careful with that, very careful, because demons don't care. They
don't care that you thought it was fun or was innocent,
because it isn't. And that's a hard fact of the
supernatural world, because it does exist. The supernatural world exists
(20:23):
much more than our soul called reality that we see
here on earth in our lives right now. And there's
no mistake about that. The supernatural realme does exist. And
you can see that by the rise in the occult,
how it attracts people through that supernatural aspect and then
(20:43):
causes a great deal of grief. And that's an understatement.
I'm being kind. When some of the results who the
people that practice feel cult, it's just breaks your heart
to see what happened to them. So anyway, that being said,
so we're at this cross roads again. This is my
(21:03):
opinion that Paganism and Christianity again are at loggerheads. But
now it's the United States which did for all its faults,
for all its problems, has accomplished a great deal of
good in the world and tried and tried to do
the best we can. And because contrary to a lot
(21:25):
of modern belief, there was a fall, and we are
under that darkness of original sin, we continue to send
to our free will and cause a great deal of
havoc for God's creation and certainly for ourselves. And so
when you see paganism in Christianity, they can't coexist. They
(21:49):
didn't in the past when the Early Church began, and
they're not going to now. Something's going to give. Now.
You and I, believers in Jesus Christ, leavers in his Church,
know that Christianity, as it has in the past, will
be victorious. There's no question of that. The question for
(22:10):
us now in this twenty first century and everything going
on in our world right now, is whether we're going
to have very difficult times ahead of us that we've
never known before before Christianity will again triumph, and that
(22:31):
may very well be the case. This is why we
have to stay on guard and be aware of the
new age movements that can be very harmful, even though
many people think it's innocent and harmful. And again they
think they're doing good, and I'm not trying to let
them off the hook here, but you know it does again.
(22:54):
The demons don't care whether people think that's innocent fun.
If they can get a channel or a hook in,
they're coming. And you've got to be very careful because
we don't know what kind of hardships that put entail
here in the United States. It's really has had been
blessed by God for so many years. But just like
the Jewish people of old, just like Anhi and Israel,
(23:16):
we are turning away from him. No longer is that
he created them male and female. It's whatever you want
to believe you are. No longer is marriage such a
sacred thing between man and woman. It's what you wish
to make of it. No longer is there a truth.
(23:38):
There is many truths. It all depends on your life experience,
and what you believe is true doesn't matter what anybody
else thinks. So there's no objective truth, there's no objective citticism.
There's just being subject to your own desires, to your
own free will, to what you want. Everything is open
(24:00):
to that, and that opens the door to all kinds
of different philosophies, to all kinds of new religions. And
that's why I mentioned called the religion today, because we'll
come up with something, because when you go towards a
paganistic culture that leans that way, you're going to come
(24:23):
up with all kinds of new things to justify. But
it's a funny thing that happens because when we believe
that we can be our own God, as Adam and
Eve did, or as the ancient Israelites did, there are
(24:45):
usually will let us have our own way. He'll give
he'll let us go our way. He respects our free will,
he'll never take that away no matter what. And we
don't make the right choices, and it can lead to disasters.
And maybe now with all our the lack of mercy
(25:06):
in our world and without those moral constraints, who knows
what we can do to each other, to God's creatures
and creation. We're seeing glimpses. If you don't, you really
don't want to. You don't want to see it because
it's out there. And if you miss the supernatural aspect
of everything going on, because it's not just here in
(25:28):
the United States, it's everywhere, then you really don't want
to see it. You really do want to cover your
eyes and cup your hands over your ears not to hear,
because it's obvious that there's something much greater than people
in our cultures, our civilization, society going on here. There's
(25:48):
some drastic changes in the beliefs that people have and
the immorality which is out there now there is no
there should be no question about that, no question at all.
You know, just when you look at the amount of
human trafficking, and we look at the open borders and
(26:09):
the people now that have been trafficked, and the amount
of missing children is just the numbers are just staggering.
And you again look in our culture with the sentinel
deaths more than wars combined. And then you look and
you see the team suicides tripling, where even the doctors
(26:29):
have said it's epidemic, and this is over the world.
You know, last week, I don't know if you saw
a well maybe a week and a half ago, a
capsule that they have that the people can go into
the capsule and this automative vote says, are you sure
you want to die? And you press the button and
that's it. Inside this little space looking capsule, that's it.
(26:53):
You commit suicide. You see all these things and their
acknowledge is good things. There's nothing wrong with them, and
in some cases there are laws to promote these things.
So this is the danger when we get away from
God's kingdom and go towards paganism, because if you look
(27:14):
through history at any pagan culture, it's one that shed
a lot of blood, a lot of blood. And even
in our own twentieth century, when we look at World
War Two and Stalin and Mile Pullpot, oh my goodness,
that atheistic philosophy of communism in Marxism led to the
(27:42):
amounts of millions and millions of people being dead and
just incredible tragedies. And this is where this leads. A
godless society is going to turn on itself. And we've
seen this historic and yet it seems right now we're
(28:02):
not learning from these past mistakes, that we're just repeating them.
So we've got to be very careful about that because
we want to hang on to the truth, and that
truth is Jesus Christ, and that in the end is
our hold because these problems I mentioned on the show tonight,
(28:29):
because this is all tied to the supernatural, to a
reality again, I repeat, is more real than what we
experience here and has huge ramifications because one fact of
our supernatural reality is that we will die, but we
will live again. And the key is we will live forever.
(28:52):
But where will we be in the kingdom of light
or the kingdom of darkness? And that is what we've
got to be concerned about. Utmost is where we will
go at the end of this life. Now, with always
this bad news all the time that we seem to hear,
(29:14):
I'd like to share that there are ways that we
can come into the kingdom of life right now and
have hope and not have fear and not be anxious,
because that's the other thing. In my travels over the
last couple of years, I've been running in a lot
of people that are very anxious, and it doesn't matter
(29:36):
if they're ninety years old or if they're eighteen, and
they're concerned. They're losing their hope, they're losing their trust,
they don't know where things are going, and they're very fearful,
very stressed out. Some people tell me they can't sleep,
they have trouble eating this, and that it's because we're
(29:57):
taking our eye off the goal. The goal is eternity.
The goal is eternity with Jesus and his kingdom in Paradise.
We have to fix our eyes on that, brothers and sisters,
because that is our hope. Many of the things I
mentioned on the show tonight are beyond our control, way
(30:19):
beyond our control. We pray, and I'm sure many of
us are praying right now. That the war in the
Middle East, you know, and certainly the war in Ukraine
and Russia, and just three weeks ago they a million
people now officially dead that they know of a million
in two and a half years. So we've got pray,
(30:40):
prayer to do, and that's our first step. We pray
we stay united to Jesus because that's what we need
to do. We need to be united to Jesus or
our house does not fall, that house divided falls. We
(31:00):
don't want that. We want to be united with Jesus.
And we can do that by starting in prayer. Now.
If you're new to the show or never listen, even
if you an old veteran, just take five minutes a
day if you can, just to talk heart to heart,
no road prayers, just hard to heart. Talk to Jesus
(31:22):
about what's going on in your life, your fears, your worry,
your doubts, what you've got coming up, what you need
to do, What does Jesus want you to do? And
then for a bit, and this is hard for us today,
listen fit quietly and listening to what Jesus has to
(31:42):
say to you. Now, sometimes that's going to be in
the form of another person, and that's called the confirmation
something you were praying about or discussing with Jesus. Somebody
will come a phone call, you'll meet somebody later in today,
and the message that you've got from Jesus and you're
in your discussion with Jesus will be confirmed because that
person will tell you something that only you and God
(32:03):
would know. Sometimes it is in scripture reading. You happen
to pick up the Bible and boom, that word hits you,
That something hits you like a bullet between the eyes,
and you know, you know in your heart this is
from God. And the other way is that And most
(32:25):
of the time it's that little quiet interior voice inside
your heart of Jesus speaking in you. And you can
discern this by if what Jesus is telling you is
in line with sacred scripture, sacred tradition and the Catechism
of the Catholic Church, you're good to go. If it's
(32:47):
outside of that, if it's new revelations or something that
wasn't what our church teaches or wasn't given to the apostles,
then you've got to be very careful because the demons
can playing as an offset some good stuff. So you
want to be discerning and those three things, those three
keys will keep you there. So you want to start
(33:09):
by prayer. Now, if you know the Rosary, that's the
big one. The Rosary has the ability to stop warners
and even change nature in its tracks. And you know,
Padre Pio said that the Rosary was the weapon for
our times. Very popular saint and is a modern say.
He just passed away in nineteen sixty eight, so this
(33:32):
isn't our time frame that we're still living in. And
if you can't do the whole Rosary even a decade,
because those powers of prayer are so efficacious, it's incredible.
You know. One of the great things you might remember
this when Bokaharam kidnapped over two hundred kids in Africa
(33:55):
and they just disappeared. It was like they were there
and the village they were gone, and the people were upset.
The police couldn't do anything, seemed to be no resolved.
They went to the bishop and they were begging him,
do please do something, Please do something, Bishop, What can
you've got to help us? Our children missing, there's no rant,
there's nothing, there was gone, and he didn't know what
(34:17):
to do. He didn't know what to do. So that
night he went and prayed in front of the Epurst
and as he was praying, he had a vision of
Jesus and Jesus came to him and Jesus had a
(34:39):
sword in his hand that he extended to the bishop,
and when the bishop reached to grab the sword, it
changed into the Rosary. The bishop gathered the people and
told them, this is what we must do as a community.
We must pray this Rosary. Two weeks of the start
(35:01):
of the community praying at Rosary, almost all the kids
will return sadly, not all two hundred, but most of
them were returned. So we can see the power, you know.
October seventh, Our Lady Rosary Battle Laponto. I'm not going
to get into that on the show. There's other shows
(35:22):
that are archived. We talked about that. That was how
our Lady of Victory Our Lady of Rosary came about
through the victory at Laponto, a miracle. The Christians had
no business went in that war, none impossible odds, but
they did through the prayer. So if you can pray
that Rosarie even a decade, it's very efficacious. Obviously it's
(35:43):
Catholic Christians. The mass receiving Eucharist is the supernatural food
we need to feed our souls. And if you can
attend daily Mass, so much the better. This is the
nourishment we need to go out and be unified with Jesus.
And then there's confession because we want to be clean.
(36:05):
We want to have a clean house. You know, there's
that beautiful scripture verse in Luke chapter eleven where Jesus
casts out a demon. They accuse him the Pharisees, of
being in league with Satan. That's how he's casting out demons.
And then Jesus says something about and how a house
(36:26):
that's clean. The demons go out and they filing, They
travel and they find nowhere. Let us go back. Let
us go back to our original home. And even though
that house has been swept and clean, they come back
with seven worse spirits than the first so we want
to keep our house clean, filled with that sanctifying grace
which only Jesus can give when He absolves us through
(36:49):
the priests of our sins and fills us with sanctifying grace.
And that's a clean house. So we want to keep
that in mind because we can always fall, which this
is a battle that we're in and it is a
supernatural battle until we take the last breath of our life.
And we've got to be on guard because even if
(37:09):
our house is clean, we can over a period of time,
especially dabbling. As I mentioned that Catholics, they've told me
they've gone to mediums, parot cards, they've involved themselves and
wick up all kinds of stuff. You need to make
that right and stay away from that. If you have
not been involved in that, do not go there at all.
(37:34):
And this is the way again, we stay unified to
Christ and keep our house clean and have the faith
and trust in Him because that we can control. Many
of the things in this world are out of our hands.
But with our faith and unity in Christ, our house
won't be divided and will not fear evil moves, as
(37:58):
the sound says, and we will steadfast in our faith,
fearing nothing. And that being said, I want to mention
now to get back as we get close to the
end of the show, the great hope of Jesus Christ,
Because when we went to lords, brothers and sisters, who
(38:21):
ever get an opportunity to go to Fatom and lords
and see the processions at night, thousands and thousands and
thousands of people holding candles, singing to the blessed Virgin Mary,
praying in procession around the beautiful Basilica and Fatima and lords,
(38:45):
and your spirit flies to God and you're caught up
in that, and you know that there is something so
much greater than us, and you know that this is
the hope, that this is what we strive for at
this This great, great God of ours, Jesus Christ, who
(39:09):
loved for us, has an eternal destiny with him for us,
and that supersedes anything here, even our most tremendous suffering,
even the most tremendous suffering. Everything, the million people I
(39:30):
mentioned killed in two and a half years, the death camps,
the millions killed on their commonists regime, the exploitation, the
human trafficking, the suicides, the abortion, you name it. It
over steps everything when you look at it. From the
eye of Eternity. And the other thing when I went
(39:52):
to the Indianapolis conference and sixty thousand flicks, sixty thousand
in procession through the streets of Indianapolis behind the monstrants
with Jesus in that monstrance, people in wheelchairs with down syndrome, amputees,
(40:16):
crutches with little infants, and people little kids three four
years old having to go all through those streets in marching.
The Native Americans dressed in beautiful buckskins, singing songs Jesus.
And then we got to one of the buildings on
top of the hills where there was a fiction and
(40:39):
the divine phrases. And despite all those people, all you
heard when the monstrance was elevated was birds, the sweet
singing of the birds. Other than that you could hear
and the reverence. And I knew we were getting ready
(41:00):
to go. And I find it and you know Satan
was raging in hell today and oh you better believe it,
believe it, said, and knew it. And that elevated my
soul because I knew that Satan wasn't trying. I am
(41:21):
so deep inside no matter what's going on in the world,
there's a lot of trouble going on, and we want
this July in our this lovely world of ours. But
I knew that Christ over me and over the cops. Sorry,
don't say it to Jesus, try it in those ways.
(41:46):
And the final thing I would say for tonight and
tonight show to stay united to Jesus with that U
Christ making frequent confession prayer is I think most of
the failure with the seven deadly sins, but many of
us may not know that there are seven virtue the
(42:09):
offset of an deadly sins. So if we take the sins,
let's start with lust. If we take lust, we replaced
lust with chastity. That's the virtue opposite. We start living
chase lives. We keep our eyes in our ears clean
(42:32):
and not get on that internet and click on something
that maybe strikes the curiosity. We stay away from that.
We want to be pure, and we pray to the
Virgin Mary for that purity. When we take and we
see that, we look and look at the sin of
gluttony for what we need, that is temperance. There are
(42:56):
so many things for us to acquire, so many toys,
if you will, so much food, so much money, so
much there's so much that, so much new phone, so
much new technologies, new smart TVs, temperance, temperance moderation, being
willing to say no, no, I'm not going to do that.
(43:19):
I'm going to give this up. That's a that's a
great thing. How about sloth just being lazy? And is
it lay easy to be lazy today? I know, it's
kind of funny in a way. They get upset if
they're remote, goes on the TV and they actually remember
the old day out and turn the channel to change it.
(43:40):
They're only prey, but they get upset. That is such
an inconvenience. They've got to walk a couple of feet
to turn the channels. That is a major thing. Boy,
talk about a first world problem. So we want to
do diligence, which means there's nothing wrong with being having
a good work that say, or you know, being diligent
(44:03):
in our prayer life or diligent in our faith, walk
in our morality. That's a biggie, that's a biggie. Anger
What that is the cause of so much grief in
not only our world but our personal lives. Right, Anger
always you know, shooting off the cuff, feeling the blood
(44:24):
pressure go up saying things boy, oh boy, in just
seconds later, Oh gosh, don't we wish, don't we wish
we could take that back? But we don't. It's out,
it's gone. So we counter that with patience that will
(44:46):
count to tending. We've heard about, but it really does work.
And that's a virtue and a great one. So patience
will often are and not easy. There's a lot of
work in many of us going to have to work
on that we need un til the end of our lives.
But at least we start and we'll get better at it.
(45:07):
We will get better at it, you know. And then
we look at we look at when we take a
look at avarice or the wealth trying to accumulate so
much or getting more than somebody else. Well, you know
what we can do with that is we can be
charitable and take some of the many blessings that God
(45:30):
gives us aren't as fortunate as we are. And it's
a great virtue and it's one that's going to make
you feel so good, so good that we can continue
to just try and try and help people out. It's
such a good feeling when we do, you know. And
(45:52):
you know, when we look at also when we look
at envy, and envy is a big one, it's not
you know, it's envy is not just wishing we are
in another person's place. Maybe I want to be an athlete,
a star, politician. You know, it's not just wanting what
they have, but it's also trying to wish misfortune on
(46:17):
those that have it. And that's a dangerous place for
us to go when we start to wish misfortune on people.
So when we trade that off, we can be kind.
And that takes some doing today because especially with social media,
we are living in a very merciless time. You're allowed
(46:38):
one mistake and they will destroy you. Especially on social media.
There is no forgiveness and there's no coming back, not
a lot of mercy there. But we can do that.
We can bring that kindness, that compassion in that mercy
like Saint Veronica did wiping Jesus's face on the road
to cavalry. The courage it to for and then the
(47:03):
biggie pride, what do we counter pride, the rock of
all We can after pride by humility, and that is
something we have to pray for a great virtue, but
it isn't easy and you know why, because yeah, and
(47:26):
because now is in my prayer. I don't because it's
it's not comfortable. It's not comfortable to be knocked down,
you know, and come off a little ego trip. It's
a tough prayer. But you grow, you really do, and
(47:52):
you know it's a good prayer to pray for humility.
But you know it's it's hard, and it's nice. We
live in the side it wants pride. Pride is number one.
You are all accounts and it's your world. And it's
very very centered upon ourselves, very ego centric, and it's
(48:17):
hard to pray, and it's hard to be humiliated. It's
not easy. Nobody likes it, but it's a great gift
and it helps us grow closer to God. So if
we do all these things, brothers and sisters, we're on
our way to stay in united with Jesus, and we're
going to have the joy that Pope Francis talks about.
He wrote that when he wrote in his book that
(48:38):
joy the Gospel, and even when things are going hard,
even even if we have to undergo things that we
never had, especially in the United States, we can be
assured that Christianity will prevail as it has throughout history,
and that we to our effort, our perseverance, holding on
(49:02):
to the faith and being united with Jesus, we too
will overcome anything in any cross that is put into
our lives. So be of strong heart, stay strong, be
of good cheer, and remember that Jesus Christ loves you
(49:25):
and he will protect you, and he wants you to
be with him in his kingdom forever. So keep the strong,
keep the faith, and whatever you do, don't give up,
and just keep going on towards Jesus, fixing your face
like flint until you see him face the face. God
(49:49):
bless you, my friend in Christ.
