So on the line right now, we have Derek as always,
and we have as he describes the partner that may
have gotten away from him this season on Bets and
New Threats.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
She was one of the standouts. She was one of
the all stars on this season. Give it up everybody
for miss Adrian Naylor. Everybody, how are you?
Speaker 3 (01:43):
And also this is my fun Oh no it's not.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I did official college podcast, so this is my first
like actual one, like since the show was finished.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
It's your first unofficial podcast.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
That's the show is actually like fully ed now as well.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Love that, Yeah, I would.
Speaker 6 (01:59):
I would say she's almost like one of this season's
unsung heroes, if not the unsung hero, you know, because
there's there are not that many people that come on
the Challenge and do win four eliminations. I think there's
only been about a handful of people that have actually
done it in forty one seasons, and you are now
(02:19):
one of them. So congratulations. I think when I first
mentioned that to you, you were like, I don't even
understand what that means, because unlike many people on the show,
I correct me if I'm wrong, you're one of those
people that never like never saw the show before you
came on, right, Like, you didn't do.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
I did watch like so many episodes, but in the
UK it's really hard to stream and so we only
have it on Paramount over here. And I was like,
my management mentioned it to me and I was like,
that sounds oh my street, Like that is something that
like I would love to do. I always said I'd
love to do like SAS And when people ask me
what the challenge is, I always describe it that it's
(02:59):
a mixer Big Brother combined with S A S mixed.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I don't know if you had.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
This over in the US, but we used to have
a TV show called Total Wipeout.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
We have one of that similar kind of but what's
a Yeah, what is that?
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Oh, you don't know what S A S is? Like
the Special Forces?
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Oh, it's like Special Forces training and there's like a
big show on it over here in the UK and
everybody loves it. I spe like Special Forces training, so
I always describe it as like it's a combination of
all of them.
Speaker 6 (03:32):
I just I just watched the celebrity version of Special Forces.
We we do have that. I think it's only like
and it's only a few seasons. I think this was
maybe like their third season and one of the one
of the housewives uh daughters had won and also one
of one of a big gymnasts from the United States
(03:52):
also one she was on there with her football player
former football player husband what's her name?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
What's her name?
Speaker 6 (03:58):
Scott Got Anyway, it was an awesome show.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
I loved it.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
So I was wondering because, uh, there's another girl that
did the challenge a while backer names Gabby.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Yeah, he's just done Yes, so she's just done it.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
So I just I just saw her promo on Instagram
that she was going to be on that. I didn't
know what s a S stood for sees, but I
was like, Oh, she's dressed in like the Special Forces gere.
I wonder if it's like the UK's version of Special Forces.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yes, but big old he that's like it's on it's
loads of series.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
We probably stole it from you. It's probably what happened.
I think.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
I think D they probably took it, like similar to
what we did with Love Island, right because Love Island
existed over in the UK for years now they've americanized it,
domesticated it, whatever you want to call it, and now
it's going on over here. But I remember the first
few Love Island folks we got on the Challenge, theos,
et cetera. They were all UK Love Island and that's
where that show started. So I'd imagine we probably saw
(04:57):
the Special Forces thing, took it over here and that's
what you're watching now. D is the American Americanized version
of of S A S S E S or S
A S A S A S.
Speaker 6 (05:08):
What does it stand for? S A S. I don't know,
we're gonna I don't know special service.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
It stands for S A S. Who dare wins? Wait?
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Oh wow, But it doesn't say what it stands for? Okay,
what does S A S stand for?
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Special American Services in the UK?
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Just kidding?
Speaker 6 (05:31):
No, So, so this is how I would describe when
people don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Special air service Special air service.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
Like maybe it's because it's the Air Force.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Well, because it says s A.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
S can stand for several things, most commonly the elite
British military unit Special Air Service. So that's probably it's
probably like their version of like the Seals or the
or the uh yeah, Marines. It's like, you know, that's
what it is. It's like a specific to the British
army term.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Okay, cool, you hear that. You know what they're talking?
Speaker 6 (06:03):
Okay, cool. So people in the States don't know what
the challenges I tell them. It's like a mix between Survivor,
Big Brother and Fear Factor. Do you guys have Fear
Factor out there too? Or did you?
Speaker 7 (06:15):
No?
Speaker 6 (06:15):
Okay, anyway, who cares. Let's talk about the show that
you were on. So, because this is another like show
I think that's here in the United States and over there,
and don't I don't know where it started.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
You stole this one, right, yeah? Right?
Speaker 5 (06:30):
I think it was a UK possibly originally, and they
used to be batshit crazy. They actually legally used to
get married, and then they changed it again.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
They reaverapped the whole show. So, and this has actually
a bit of in a side scoop.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
The production actually got the series of my show wrong,
and so technically mine was the third third series of
the new series, but they put down like series like
nine or ten whatever it was because they were including
the old series. So THEO actually had to run up
(07:05):
and down twice because they got it wrong and not him.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Oh wow, So that was a trivia question that they
got wrong, but they told him he got it wrong
because they had the wrong That just goes to show right,
like literally, and that could have it didn't obviously, but
that could have cost you a final That could have
been a four hundred thousand dollars mistake by their their department.
Oh yeah, I see here Who's still together? From Married
(07:30):
at First Site season nineteen. So this thing has been
on a ton, both in the States and over there.
So that's crazy over.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Here in the UK, really popular and.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
So what is it?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
So because we have like a lot of these high
concept dating shows now married at first Sight, love is blind,
you know whatever, So what what specifically is married at
first Sight?
Speaker 3 (07:53):
So basically people who are like themselves are looking.
Speaker 8 (07:56):
In love and we basically go through all these processes
of telling dating experts dating experts aka production obviously, but
at the time you're like, oh, love experts great like
through ferbe like, so you tell them, like you know
what you're looking for, all that jazz, and then they
(08:16):
will match you with somebody that they deem is going
to be good for you, or you know, oh they're
not looking for that, or yeah they've you know, they
both got the gym, they're going to be really compatible,
but that's really not the case, especially like my kiss.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
So yeah, they will then match you, and you go
through a whole process of like filming like your backstory.
You tell them everything about you, and then the first
time you ever meet this person, it's kind of like.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
You do it back to front.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
So you will go to the altar and you meet
them at the altar, and I promise you will be like, oh,
you must know.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Something about them beforehand. I'm like, I didn't even know
this man's initial I figured out everything about him at
the altar. And then what.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
Happens is you then go on a honeymoon, and then
you have to go live in apartments with like the
rest of the cast, and you all have your own
apartment and you have to do like different like things
to like different relationship challenges, and and then every week,
you have like a dinner party with all the other
casts and they give you questions from the from the experts,
from production to cause drama.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
So yeah, there's a lot of drama in it.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
So you know, like the creaming and screaming and crying
and on the challenge. I've seen it all, like, so
it's fine, but yeah, it's.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Are you legally married? That said alter? Or no, you're
saying they fudge that.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I am crazy, but I'm not that crazy.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Like if it was to legally marry, I'd have not
done it.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
To be honest. But yeah, it's it's still like very surreal.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
You go and buy a wedding dress, you invite all
your friends and family down. It's like it's all illegal,
all like the formalities of a wedding, but not the
legal is Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Right, Well that would be terrible if you were like
in court for like three years after deciding who got
twenty percent of whose income just because it's some stupid
reality show you were, it'd.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
Probably be like the story of my life.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
And I'd imagine one out of every twenty or so
end up working out, right. I just saw that like
a couple from Love Is Blind season whichever. This one
season Lindsay and I watched they just had their first kids,
so I guess love was blind for them. That's crazy.
So it did not work out with you and this guy? Now,
(10:33):
that's crazy. So it did not work out with you
and this sky No, it never does.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Want more good dance stories, you need to go and
watch my Hinge Heckling story about my recent day.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
What is Hinge Heckler?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
So have you ever had The Tinder Swindler on?
Speaker 1 (10:50):
It's a Netflix show? Or right, it's a documentary, right.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Yeah, And recently in the summer, I was dating a
guy and he was obviously I thought it was the
best thing in slice bread and I was like, oh
my god, he's amazing. Turns out he was having like
six of our relationships at the same time as me.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
So yeah, Like I was like, how do you have
the time? Like please?
Speaker 5 (11:15):
So I decided to obviously having a little bit of
a platform, to share the story to one of the
people of the UK, because it's sampling the whole of
the UK, and I obviously needed some sort of headline.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
So I said, you've heard of the Tinder Swindler.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
But now it's time for the hinge Heckler.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Oh my god, I just looked it up. It's right here.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
But why go with hinged Heckler instead of unhinged Heckler.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Well, hinges the hinges the inside.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
That's where I was.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Hinges like a Tinder. Yeah, hinges like Tinder. Yeah, I
just think it.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Unhinged Heckler would be Tinders like it's like two thousand
and late. Apparently, like the other day we sat next
to we sat next to somebody on a date.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Now.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I was like, oh, is this a Tinder date? And
he's like, oh, I could tell you've been married for
a long time. He goes, Tinder, don't use that anymore.
I was like, well, what do you use like, you know,
you know, bagel bumble or whatever. He's like, no, hinge.
So I guess hinge is like the new Oh.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Yeah, accepted riot.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yet what about I feel like Heckler, though maybe it
means something different in the UK, because to me, Heckler
means like someone kind of like, you know, yelling at
you at a comedy show or something.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
But I would say hustler like the hinge the hinge.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
I don't I don't know research because obviously you know
what people online can be like Scott.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
So I did my research. I made sure that the
heckler was like the right term. Yeah, and like like the.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
Harasser type vibe like yeah, I made too like it
was the true representation because again it might.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Be blond for it's not real.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Wait, I'm seeing this part nine, part eleven. How many
parts are there to this series that you did? Oh my,
so this Let me guess, did this take off on TikTok?
Because this is I mean, people love this like true
crimey shit, there's nothing better than someone getting uncovered.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yeah, a little bit, like hugely. But enough?
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Is he still out there? Is he still out there
hustling and heckling now? Or did you guys shut him down?
Speaker 3 (13:09):
I wouldn't know.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
I mean I still get messages of women saying this
happened to me from the same guy.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
Yeah, yeah, so it was. So it's basically like you,
uh like going on a date, meeting a guy and
then talking shit about him.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
No, no, no, I was in a full blown relationship with.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Him, Derek, Okay, and he's not one guy.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Children met his children, I met his family, I went
to a family wedding. Well, right, while he got somebody
else pregnant.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah, so basically, so there's a there's a there's a
there's a tender, tender swindler guy whatever like that one
I think was like money based, right, Like there was money.
So so this guy, let me just tell you because Derek,
clearly you haven't heard about this.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
This guy was like next level.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
And that he would like he would like rent like
a private plane to make it look like he was
rich enough to have a private plane, and he would
like take a girl on a date to like brunch
at like the like four Seasons, so she would think,
oh my god, I'm about to meet the millionaire of
my dreams. But really, really he doesn't have money. He
needs money. Then he would like have the woman like
wire him like sixty grand or something. He would say, oh,
(14:14):
I need it to And he was like swindling people
out of money while also you know, dating all these
women and this and that, and then a couple of
them figured it out.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
They do this documentary The Tenders.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Yeah, it sounds like so this guy, yeah, was he
trying to financially swindle You guys are just multi multi day.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
It was just the emotional like.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
And every single one of us have got like the same.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
So this guy was basically treating multiple women like they
were his number one. Meanwhile, he's kind of side piecing
all of you guys and mentally manipulating you guys.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
And once the.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Cat got let out of the bag, you're able to
prove that basically this guy is like, like you said,
taking you on a wedding date when the next day
he's getting another woman pregnant.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I mean, this just sounds like.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
The nineties origin meet him and he's texting a woman
telling telling about yeah you have a women sorry too
to not just.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Want to wow.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
That is well the hinge Heckler you can still find
on Adrian's TikTok. I highly recommend checking that out. So
did that scar you like for instance? So I don't
know if that came before or after merrity at first
sight or whatnot, but it sounds.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
Like reason this is like the past few weeks.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
This is a few weeks.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Oh my god, So this so the hinge Heckler is like,
oh wow, okay, so so this probably.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Has a scarred wouldn't even be the word.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
You're probably just like, today is not the day to
ask you out for drinks? Probably if I had to guess, like,
not me. I'm saying if somebody, if you were out tonight, you're.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Probably out there and watching this podcast that wants to
sweep me off my feet, then I know because Joe,
if anything it teaches me.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Is that I am still a good person.
Speaker 7 (15:47):
I still give him enough chances that even when things
were gone wrong, because a lot obviously went wrong, and
when you watch it all, like I was still really
trying for the relationship, and it shures that my heart
is open to that and I'm a good person for
trying to see past people's bad points.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
So like, to me, it's like, why am I going
to give.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Up on potentially meeting somebody and finding love and hindra
my life when ultimately, like that's not on me, that
him being a bad person.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
Oh So for any fucked up guy out there, Adrian
is the woman for you. After after chance.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
Yeah after I mean no, I don't know what it
was about this guy, because like he wore unbranded white Pimpsuls,
which would really give me the it usually.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
But like he won't wait to say that again he
won he wore one.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Like unbranded white Pimsuls.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
What are plimsols?
Speaker 6 (16:42):
Sounds like, yeah, like unbranded, so.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
He wore like non brand name shoes and that should
have been a red flag. And it was yeah, but
give me the it would give you the And now
it definitely why.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Because on our.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
He Troma you'll see all this in in in the series.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
But he tromadumed on me on day one and I
was like, ah, I can fix you.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Yeah. Wow, Well it's interesting.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
So I don't know if they knew this going into it,
but you get cast for this Challenge season that ends
up kind of being like speed dating in a way, right,
because not every season of the Challenge is like that.
I know you've only seen a few, but a lot
of these seasons you get the same partner the whole way.
Sometimes you don't have a partner at all. This season
kicks This season kicks off, and it's very much like
speed dating. You're switching up with a new partner every
(17:33):
single week or a few times a week. Then later
on you settle in with THEO. But there's always the yeah,
someone want to stake a claim and maybe you know,
date somewhere.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Else for a little bit.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
No, isn't it really so used to it?
Speaker 2 (17:47):
And dare I say your relationship there at the end
got a little bit dicey, like I'll be honest, like
watching that from Afar, I was like, man, I'm I
felt bad that you and THEO were married at first
sight because I was like begging for you to get
a divorce there at the end when he wouldn't even
go swimming for you in the finals.
Speaker 9 (18:01):
So I know, I know it's I think again, it
shows that I, up until a certain point, I'm willing
to compromise a lot, and I'm quite good at communicating
when you know we need.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
To talk, we need to get this done, and you're
not listening to.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Me, And I think this is where and people might
comfort me for this, but this is where men don't realize.
When women like, right, I've had enough, and they're like, well,
you've not told that to me. It's like, no, I have.
You haven't wanted to listen until I've said fuck this,
I'm enough enough. And I think that's that's what I
had to do with THEO towards well for all things
(18:35):
of it. And then you just you know, feels me
and the doesn't listen. And then day two, obviously I
haven't what I disclaim. I actually haven't watched Day two
yet because it's not on here.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
I can't believe it.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I'll just make that easy for you, guys, Like, that's
so ridiculous that they wouldn't just make an exception and
be like, she lives out in the UK, Let's send
her the screener, let's let her watch it. No, instead,
you have to wait for it to hit whatever station
it hits there on a delay.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Come on, guys, come on, get with the times, guys.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
Yeah, so hold on before we get into the challenge. So,
how do you win?
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Uh? Married?
Speaker 6 (19:14):
At first second?
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Like former?
Speaker 6 (19:17):
No win? Okay, So then, so how did you get
picked for that? Did you were you? Were you casting?
Did you did you put in an audition tape for that?
Or did you put an audition tape for like a
different show and then they found you?
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Like no, so I didn't apply at all. I always
kind of knew that I would go down TV route.
I don't know how, but like I used to like
do the whole gear is not the window thinking one day,
you know, like I just knew that I was made
for more than staying in my small town.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
So for those that don't know, I'm from like the
tiniest place in the UK.
Speaker 6 (19:47):
What's it called, Derek, oh ship, hold on, give me,
give me, give me like ten seconds.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Hold on? Uh the Shire.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
Yeah see I would have been just as bad as
with sdo.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
I'm from a little place in the UK called the
Lake District Lakes.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
Yeah, I forgot that would.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
So it's like a tiny little place like it's just
full the mountains.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
It's not commercialized, like no chain restaurants really like, it's
just very like secluded. And I used to weigh two
hundred and like seventy pounds. I used to wear two
(20:37):
hundred and like seventy pounds.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
So I used to be really really big girl.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
And I started to change my life and I went
on a huge weir lost journey and have now lost
fifty kilograms.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
And what is fifty kilograms in pounds in pounds is
let me eat two.
Speaker 6 (20:56):
Point two two point two pounds per equals a kilogram right.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
