Speaker 1 (00:15):
What's up, everybody. This is Scott Jeger here with another
edition of Challenge Mania. This episode brought to you by
Challenge Mania Live Chicago. That's right, our ninth official Challenge
Mania Live show in Chicago. I believe it's a few
more if you include the comedy show. We did some bowling,
other good stuff that we've done in the Windy City.
But you could come down on Sunday, August thirty first,

(00:37):
not just to hang out with me and d and
Ryan Keho, Michelle Fitzgerald, Devin Walker, maybe a surprise guest,
but also our guest on the podcast today. Go to
challenge Mania dot Live to get tickets to BP is
sold out, but you can still come and watch the
show with us that Sunday. You didn't come for me,
you came for d And today you're also getting See
we've got Derek here and we've got ms Carra.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I'm excited for Chicago.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Oh, we are going to have the best time. It's
our first time in the actual city of Chicago. We
typically do this do our show in the suburbs, like
really close to where my parents live, really close to
the airport.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
We're going in the city for this one.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
We have security, it's you know people.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
It's a nice area.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Am I gonna die?

Speaker 4 (01:33):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
This isn't a winery? This is this is not a winery.
Look bad rap.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
It's not just supposed to be more like upscale like
this is supposed to be like the Move?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Scott?

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Is this not like the more like elegant move? That's what.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
You should have led into the nicer venue and not
the city versus the taking. Yeah, that's gonna scare no,
But we have a great turnout so far, but there
are a few tickets left and people do want to
check out the show. Boston, where you're coming and joining us.
A few weeks later, we decided to just run back
the same exact lineup as Chicago. That show is sold out.

(02:15):
That's a hometown show for you, miss Carl, Maria, and Chicago,
oddly enough a hometown show for Derek. So a couple
of hometown shows coming up, and we're excited to talk
to you, not just there on stage, but here today
because you are back on our screens. That's right. Vets
and new Threats, you of course being one of the vets,

(02:38):
but I got to ask your opinion on these new
Threats because I think you did a TikTok or something
like that early on where I think you let it
slip that maybe you weren't as enthused about some of
these new threats as they are about themselves. But having
seen a few episodes play out, now, have you changed
your mind at all? Have you changed your tune? What
do you think about this new crop of characters here?

Speaker 5 (03:00):
I mean, you know, I'm always open to welcome people
in and teach them the ways of the challenge, because
you know, we.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Want the challenge to live on forever.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
But you know, I'm also a little like territorial I like,
you know, I mean, I'm like, I'm like, all right, nobody,
there's not one person here that will replace me, So
we're good with that. Car Maria stays car Maria. But
first off, the bat I was really excited about all
the girls, all the women. They When I tell you
the lineup, I thought I was at like a Miss

(03:30):
USA pageant.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
They were first of all beautiful, and then you know,
I'm the type.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Of girl that I probably would get in trouble at
the gym because anytime a girl walks by, I'm like,
you know what I mean, look, I love butts, and
the house was filled with incredible butts.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
These women Tay tay d.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
I followed that butt up the mountain for a while
and then we were going together.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Phenomenal but great butts.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah, we're happy expert on the show. That's something that
does really show up on the podcast. We got two
married men here. We don't talk butts very often here,
so we're happy to have you to talk about the
best butts, the best butts they've ever seen a butt
for one season see more butts exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
And you know I'm gonna be honest with.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
You when we were doing that whole So let me
just I'm add scirrel something shiny. Let me back up
with all of these episodes, I'm doing little recaps, just
like an under ten minute just quick recap of the show,
plus any behind the scenes stuff and like my little
observations and commentary. So I've been doing that with the
tick with the tiktoks if you want to see those,
and I'm posting on Instagram. But the day that when

(04:41):
we first arrived, like I'm gonna I'm gonna doll you
back when we first arrived, we were brought to a
hotel and with the vets were on one floor.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
The new kids were on another floor.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
But we weren't told you know what I mean that
there's new kids here, Like you're not told what the
theme is, you know all that. So they brought us
from the hotel to this holding area where they made
us way forever. It was like this weird cia, fake
office looking thing that we sat in forever and then
eight and we're.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Like what are we doing? How are we starting this?

Speaker 5 (05:11):
And then they brought us down to this the interrogation room.
So we were standing in the dark. We didn't get
to talk to any of these people, but this was
our first, like what do you call it, the first
impression of these people. So every girl that came in awesome.
They all looked terrifying. To be honest, I was like
hiding behind Leroy. I was like, please don't put me

(05:33):
in a hoble brawl against these brods. But and especially
sid like not Sydney, is it Sydney?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Sydney.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Yeah, she came in totally Like all I could say
is if Laurel and Wes had a baby, that was
what Sidney was giving. Like attitude wise, I was afraid
and then when all the guys were coming in, I
was like so unimpressed, just so unimpressed.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Honestly, Like every guy.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
That came in, I was like, uh whatever, Like I
just didn't care who I was partnering with at all.
The only guy that made sort of I mean, I
thought Cedric was really cute, like he the way that
he did his little interview, giggling, and he was just
a cutie pie, you know. And then obviously Jeremy came in,
and Jurremy's like, you know, he's like young Zach, you

(06:23):
know what I mean, like the presence of like remember
when Zach first hit the scene with the long flowing
hair and the muscles and the oh my god, look
at this guy.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
He comes in like that, but without.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
The personality that Zach like, you know, Zach is just
like a cocky dick, stays that way forever. Jeremy came
in and we were like, Okay, let's see what this
guy's got. And he's very.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Soft, like like he's got like a gentleness to him.
And he didn't come off like cocky or mean.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
He was just very like he just spoke a lot
and kept talking and kept talking and kept talking and
I'm like, we need to play the Grammy music to
wrap it up here because you know.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I I want to get to the house.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
So, I mean, my impression on the men wasn't great,
But the women, I thought, and I'll say time and
time again, phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah, greats.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, I thought the same.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
As far as uh some of the bigger personalities that
stuck out.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
I thought that initially Sydney and and D.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
I thought we're going to be, you know, the biggest
threats and I and they gave like the villain.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
They gave villain vibes like I on the show.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Uh De actually appreciated it for whatever reason, and.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Uh I didn't piss anyone off with that.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
But like I I was just so surprised on how
cocky they they were, you know, more so Sidney than
than than D. But I was just like, I don't know, like,
whoever gets paired up with them is either going to
do really well or they're just gonna become really screwed
because they've already left bad taste and everybody's mouth it seems.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
But honestly, just the fact that I know that, you know,
this is TV, I'm sure they were told to judjh
it up a little bit, you know, get a little fiery.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Everybody was spicy.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Describe something you know that was the most used, Like
describe three words that describe yourself. I'm spicy. Everybody was spicy.
And you know they went in and.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
They put a little show on, so I know that
they were hamming it up.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
You know. When I actually talked to Sydney at the house,
she was nothing like what she put off.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
You know, in the in the interrogation room.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Same with D like D you know, she had this
kind of like little swag to her, and then at
the house she was just and even up the mountain,
she was just the cutest, sweetest.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I think D is beautiful. I love them. I love
the girls.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Let me both of you guys, go ahead, D and
and to you know, piggyback some of what you're saying too.
It is like I walked in the house and one
of the first people I talked to was Sydney and
she had already had the bed that I'm sleeping in currently. Yeah,
it was like and she was like I gave her
this information. I said, she goes, you know how to go,

(09:22):
and I go. I'll be honest, like you should probably
go and make some friends because that interview was.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Not very good.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
And uh and she was like really and I was like,
I was like, yeah, she goes, well, she goes, I know,
you know your need thing.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
You know, we talked about that.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
She goes, you can have my bed if you want it,
and then you don't have to climb up the bed.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I was like, well, the climbing thing is not gonna
be that hard. But I didn't say that. I was
just like, yeah, fuck yeah, I want that bed. That bed.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
It's perfect.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
It's exactly what I want.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
It's the bottom bottom bunk and it's up against the
wall and it's like, we get the master closet.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
We're living in the same living space by the way.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah, we're right next to each other. I look like,
here's d.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
It was double D.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
We had we Derek C and Derek Kay right below me.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
We got a question in challengemaniacs dot com. If you
guys ever want to send in questions for the podcast,
that's the way to do it. Join the pod squad
over at challengemaniac dot com. It's also where you can
watch all of our interviews. In addition to listen to them,
Macjay says, is for both of you, guys. We'll start
with Kara. Obviously, performance can play a part in this.
We're only three episodes into the season, but as you

(10:24):
know Michayla, she loses first first episode in her first season,
she gets brought back. And Manuel he recently won a season,
haven't seen him since, so maybe it's not all that Obviously,
personality can play a part as well. Mac Jay wants
to know three episodes in at least, guys, which new
threat do you think has the potential to do five
to ten seasons more of the show?

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Great question, Great question. Oh, I think Cara is thinking
about it. She's thinking for anyone that's not watching at
challengemaniax dot com thinking.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
But let me say this, I also want you guys,
But I also want you guys to factor in this
because sometimes it is a two way street, right, the
show can want you, but you don't want the show,
or vice versa. So it's got to be someone who's
thirsty for the gram, thirsty for the camera time, who
also they want to reciprocate some people like you know
you mentioned like a Sydney as much as she came

(11:30):
out guns of blazing with the one liners and stuff.
You know, in the limited time I've spoken to her,
she doesn't seem like she needs it, or at least
that's what she puts up as a front. So what
do you think, Kara, give me one guy in one
gal Okay.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
For the guy, I'm just gonna go with Jeremy just
because he gives me like he's like a you know
what I hate to say, but like a Harassio, an athletic,
good looking dude, not a whole lot of personality or politics,
but like he's an easy plug and play because he's
gonna perform really well, Like he is an incredible athlete.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
So and he's pretty you know what I mean. So
that you think, do.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
You think the potential? So Arasio? We got? What do
we get? Three seasons out of Arassio? And man, I mean,
the closest he ever came to getting even a little
bit messy was sort of off camera about the show
when he felt like he had been a little bit
you know, misdeeded in the Derek elimination, but really never
any saucy drama stuff like that. That's three seasons of him.

(12:32):
I think we've gotten a nice enough sample size. Jeremy, though,
I feel like, even hearing him on the podcast, he's like,
as much as he seems humble, he's also a bit cocky.
I don't know where he's at relationship wise and things
like that. Do you think the door maybe is open
a little bit wider for potentially I don't know him
becoming full Zach down the road, but showed a little

(12:53):
bit more of that personality than mister Gutierrez.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
I think Jeremy we could see for for the long haul.
I'm really curious to see where he comes when it
comes to politics, when it comes to more puzzle situations,
I'm just curious to see.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I think right now was he was target number one.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
As soon as he flew up that mountain and down
that mountain, every guy was like, get him out, get
him out immediately. So I think rather than walking in
the house like a cocky dude and getting all the
attention on him and just show voting, I think he
like tried to dial it back, kind of blend in
as best he could, which he did a really good
job doing that considering what a threat he kind of

(13:33):
came off as, and he played really smart and just
trying to assimilate and play background and like oh oh, Johnny, yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Like he like you know what I mean. I think
he did a really good job.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
So I'm curious once he establishes himself on the Challenge,
what he's going to bring in the future, Like he's
really the.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Main one that I'd be looking at for sure?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
What about what about one of the female butts, any
of them the female butts.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Here's the thing, Sydney perform.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
I don't want to say like how she's gonna perform
or how she does, but she's she has got.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
All the fire, all the spice.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
She comes out guns blazing, she don't care she rubs
you the wrong way. She has zero filter, she doesn't
sugarcoat anything. I think that's refreshing and I think that's fun.
But I also think she doesn't care whether she comes
back for another season because she's a lawyer. She actually
has a real life professional job.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
I think she's really really.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Cool, but coming back will totally be up to her.
And then as far as someone who you know, any
of the other girls, I think Adrianne is getting an
exorbit I think that I think the Challenge really likes
adrian just by the amount of screen time she's getting.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I liked her, I was close with her in the house.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
I think we'll definitely see Adrianne again if she wants
to come back. And then the other girl that I
think will probably spoke.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
See d I don't know if she's gonna want to
keep doing these. I don't know if she does. Maybe
she's got.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
She's got Survivor fifty coming down the pike. Uh, that
may play a part in you know that show wanting
her back, or maybe they're winning another million dollars. Who knows.
There's one name that I don't know if it was
about to come out of Derek's mouth, but it hasn't
come out of yours yet. But I will say three
episodes in he leads the men in points and I
think he leads the internet in sort of buzz is

(15:27):
justin and I feel like, yeah, I think he's a guy.
I mean, obviously representing LGBTQ, obviously getting it done on
the field, not scared to get his hands dirty and
tell a vet right off the bat, how he feels
when he feels wrong with thousand He's top of my
list too, But Derek, I want to hear yours.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yeah, I think, uh, I think Klara nailed the Adrian thing.
I think I think Adrian they're they're breeding.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
They want you to know Adrian.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Yeah, I've noticed that too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
She And she's she like you could see with her
facial expressions, she she's not fucking scared at anybody, you know.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
And and and her athlete. Like when she came in
that interrogation.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Room and she was a touch of the glam and
she said that she was from married married, married at
first sight, and we all had no idea what that
show was.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
And you know, she didn't give.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Us this I'm an athlete, uh you know speech, which
is what us as guys were looking for, and which
was what the girls were not looking for. Right, Like
the girl the girls on the vetsite didn't want want
to hear you say, oh, you're former military and you
played four sports growing up cedric like we like we

(16:44):
didn't want to hear that. Neither did the VET girls.
And you didn't get that from her. But what you
don't know is this girl as a super athlete. And
what I heard her say about about the swimming, what
I heard her say about the swimming was, uh, you know,
I did have a few metals growing up from you know,
the swimming side of life.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
And I'm just like, really, I let you with you
for a little bit, didn't mention that whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
And you know, again, the challenges is slowly there.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
She has a sharp tongue. She she's you know, she's
got the UK.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
She's like, you know, she's kind of you know, like
she's constantly coming up with something new that she didn't
know about her popping up on TV. And they're letting
us do that, letting us see that the other ones. Sidney,
I agree with you on Sydney. I think Sydney is
like more of like, uh, I don't like I don't

(17:44):
need this drama in my life. She's like, I don't
need this pressure in my life. I don't need this
game to fuck with my head as much as it does.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
Sidney's like, Sydney's like, I don't need this game. This
game needs me and I'll figure if I want it
or not. Yeah, if I want it, it'll be like
that's Sydney. She nothing bothers Sydney. She's like she'll she'll
take the game, destroy the game, and destroy everybody else
in her path and then be like, do I.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Feel like going back? I don't know, but I know
they want me Like that's Sydney.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
But as far as like a perfect cast member, she's
like one of.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Them, Yeah, oh yeah she is.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Yeah you got a guy in there, D.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Yeah I got yeah, you know the D thing too.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
But with D, like, I think this is going to
be ripe for her taking whenever she wants it. It's
just like she's sitting on that you know, that survivor money.
You don't have to do this stuff. But I do
think she likes it. I don't think that she has
like I mean, if you're gonna go from you know,
season forty one to survive her fifty, like you have

(18:47):
that you know athletic, Yeah, the what is it salivating?

Speaker 4 (18:53):
That that salivating for competition? Uh? She has that, you know?

Speaker 3 (18:59):
And and who else like I think Will or Will
and Gabe are two people going to talk about and
Justin Justin I think is I think he brings it,
you know.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Justin for sure?

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Yeah, I totally forgot about him because you know, I
was concentrated on Jeromy.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
But Jeremy and Justin are my top two for guys.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Absolutely let me get cars. But you just named two guys.
I want to get Card's opinion on Will and Gabe, right, So,
on one hand, obviously they've gotten a good amount of
camera time. On the other hand, though, it feels like
kind of the opposite of that Adrianne camera time, whereas
she's getting it from the Challenge Gods, where she doesn't
even need to be there. Meanwhile Gabe is getting it.
He's sort of the brunt of everybody's you know, sort

(19:39):
of criticisms obviously at the other end of the Naya criticism,
things like that, making bad moves, socially, politically, things like that,
people talking about what he's doing wrong. And then Will
obviously with the big outbursts and things like that. So
what's your read on those two guys and what we've
seen from them so far?

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Will made me so uncomfortable that night, I'm gonna be
so honest with you, Like apparently he got into it
hard on the bus with Gabe, and then he came
back in the house and like the way that he
was like fixated obsessing on d when he literally just

(20:18):
met her, and like she was getting into john like
she was getting with Johnny barely just flirting with him.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
And like his he looked like.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
A scorned ex wife of like a ten year marriage
who just caught his you know, husband cheating.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Or something like he just made me so uncomfortable.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
And then to him like go punch a wall and
now he's got like a boxing glove is a hand
now because his hands all puffy, Like what are you
doing dude?

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Like that?

Speaker 5 (20:45):
I would, I honestly thought things were so bad that night, Derek.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Am I wrong? I told everybody, I'm like, production's gonna
kick him out.

Speaker 5 (20:53):
I'm like, he's done, He's out, Like with the things
that I heard on the side, which I'm not gonna repeat,
but I thought he was Dunzie.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Why do you think so? So it's interesting you said
that because I haven't heard anyone directly say that. But
I definitely heard about the bus fight that we never
actually got to see, which it's rare that they kind
of keep something like that out. You know, Derek and
I were theorizing maybe it was just too much stuff
and they wanted to make it all about d and
that whole love triangle and not even enter the Gabe drama.
But do you think that the challenge is maybe lightning

(21:24):
up because we saw a couple of seasons ago people
get home, get sent home for the most like, I mean,
the FESSI one with with him and Josh seemed like
kind of just a shouting match that ended with maybe
a broken glass and stuff, and they started to get
very very sensitive with even the slightest bit of physical contact.
Does it feel like they're scaling that back or why
do you think he got to stay here with I mean, look,

(21:45):
not even just one, but two physical altercations if you
include the wall.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
I mean, I don't know. I'm not making up the
judgment calls. I don't know what the gods are doing,
but it's their show.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
I was just surprised, Like the next morning, I'll like,
they're taking him away, he's out. I would have put
money on it and I'd be lost. And then as
far as you know, and then I think he you know,
he just I don't think he needs to be drinking
on the show is the thing. I think he has
a switch that flips, and that's not a good He

(22:18):
goes right into the danger zone, you know, red flag central.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
And then and then Gabe, you know, I didn't really
get a read on him.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
I think I'm seeing more from Gabe watching the show
that I did.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Does that make any sense?

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Do you remember? I mean I remember this happening. But
what they haven't shown and I don't know if they'll
show it in the future, is how much like turmoil
he caused with all those other rookie guys. I me
and you were sitting there, Remember me and you were

(23:02):
sitting there and being like, you know, we don't know
what's going on with you and all these people that
hate you right now that you just met, but like
you can come and be on our side if you want,
Like we have an open door.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
You know.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
Yeah, he was just causing trouble less and right I had,
like I had no idea I was.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
I just I don't know.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
There was a bunch of rookie rookie on rookie drama
that I was just not a part of it. When
I tell you that, I spent my days either in
our in our bedroom closet we had that big closet
room where all the girls would hang out, club closet,
or I'd be in the kitchen with CT or in
the gym with Turbo. That was pretty much my three spots.
So I really was not up to date on Anybody's Drama.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
You mentioned the drinking. This is kind of a fun
question we got by a challengemaniac dot com from Matt.
I'm gonna ask Kara first, but d I want to
get your answer to Matt says Carl. What's your drink
of choice when you guys go out to the bar
on the show? It seems like a lot of the
cast either goes with red bull and vodka, I assume,
or wine. So do you have a go to when
you guys are out on the prow?

Speaker 5 (24:06):
I mean, you're in another country, so it's like they're
probably not gonna make me a lemon drop or you know,
the right kind of dirty martini or whatever. So I'm
either gonna go a mohedo because usually they don't. They
all know how to make a good mohino and they
know the word. And then or margarita or.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Just a beer from trying to.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Keep it simple, Yeah, Derek, I gotta know your drink
red stripe? Do you ask them if they have red stripe?
Is that your first thing?

Speaker 3 (24:32):
If I was in Jamaica, I would ask for a
red stripe because I'm I'm I'm I'm a man of
the country. I want to feel the country. I want
to taste the country.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
You asked for.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Red stripe at a steakhouse in Atlanta, you ask it
at a burger king, you ask everywhere for a red stripe.
By the way, Well, I.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Mean, what am I gonna?

Speaker 3 (24:47):
I mean, what am I going to ask for a
Budweiser like to be America? You know, like I like,
I haven't had enough bud lights in my life, Like
I haven't had enough you.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Know any of these normal beers that come from a marria.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
So go ahead, So what do you do? So you
try to go in Chili.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
In Chili they have what's called piasco.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
So I wanted so on the first night we got
piasco and then after that we got the Peasco taken away.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Okay, you're gonna go America. Have a yingling right here?

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Oh wow right? Yeah, look at that.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
And yes the answer it typically is. So for those
of you not watching it. Challengemenix dot com. Uh Kara
just cracked a beer, which is makes me feel I like,
I'm so impressed right now, God bless you.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Somewhere.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
I have a shirt that says morning beer.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Okay at Challengemania dot shop, and I think it's the
most amazing thing. So the fact that you just fucking
cracked a beer, whatever time it is, uh, I think
that's awesome.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
I'm ready, we were, we we got you got me talking,
and I got thirsty, So here we are.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
But the beer, Yeah, the beer thing, it's always a beer.
It always starts with a beer, right, whatever beer they
give us, it starts with the beer, a beer or
a wine, and you only get two of them or
one if you're lucky before we go out to the club.
And then after that you kind of I started migrating
to a gin in Red Bull.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
I don't even bother drinking on the challenge anymore, like
when we're in the house, because you get one beer
and they're gone. You never got to see a bottle
of akka ever, especially if Seeta's in the house, that's gone.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
You know what.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
So what they did actually do this season that I
really loved is they gave us some spiked seltzers. I
have some really good spike seltzers, and so I was
happy about that.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
But they just everything went so fast.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Well, hey, if you guys are looking for a good
seltzer or canned cocktail, shouts to our friends over at
lover Boy. They make some delicious canned cocktails, Seltzers and
Sangria's and even they even make a I think it's
like wine based because there's technically no Vodki in it,
but they can espresso martini and a can. There's a
chef's kiss. So shouts to lover Boy.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
Hey, lover Boy, if you want to send me a
sample and I'll do a review on TikTok ill case out.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
One thousand percent car. There will be a a boatload
of lover Boy pulled up to your brand new pad
down there in Florida very soon. So I'll get your
address and we'll send it over to Dylan and the
friends at Loverboy. Lover Boy, there's a show called uh
it is called Summerhouse, and a lot of the folks
on that show are they own the company lover Boy.

(27:31):
But lover Boy also their challenge fans, challenge maniacs. They
come to our shows. They send us a bunch of stuff.
They send a bunch of swag. We'll have some swag.
I'll like to bring you some swag in in Chicago.
We're also gonna bring some swag for the maniacs too.
But okay, let's talk about your newfound comedy career that
we were all privy to last Wednesday. I remember you
telling me you didn't even think they were gonna run

(27:53):
any of this. You were like, I did a roast,
it's awesome. I bet they don't show it. And I
remember being like, I was like, hey, they showed it.
They showed like three jokes. Were you impressed that they
showed as much as they did? And then were there
any that they didn't show that you want to maybe
dust off and read for us here today? I saw,
you know, after a Comedy Central roast going on Howard
Stern or.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Something they I honestly, I love Carl.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
Carl always comes out for a birthday party and there's
always a birthday party roast, and I'm very happy to
make that a tradition because it makes me happy and
it's always a good time when.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Carl comes out for a birthday party roast.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
And what they didn't show is actually multiple people did roast.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Sydney's was brutal. Didn't you show any of hers?

Speaker 5 (28:38):
Leroys would never make air ever, Leroy just said all
the things that also Johnny wanted him to say, but
would say himself and then I guess mine were technically
the cleanest, so I was, you know.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
We got a few jokes.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
I think there was one that was like, uh, spies
lies what I thought the name of the season with
spies lies and guys who cry because we had so
many dudes crying constantly between will friggin I remember justin
tearing up Gabe, I mean not Gabe Lot. Oh yeah,

(29:18):
because the guys will more email than the women.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Let me ask you, because uh, just let people know
a little peak behind the curtain. When we, for instance,
did the cy Roast in San Diego. Night before the Cyrost,
a few of us got together, me, Tech, Paully and
we kind of start mark start, are you throwing jokes
out there? And like, you know, someone I'd throw a
joke out there and I'd be like, you know what,
Tech wan, don't you take that one a little better

(29:42):
coming out of your mouth? Or or someone would call
DIBs on this joke or that joke, or at least
we'd run jokes by each other. Did anyone help you
with your material that you want a credit or you
know a part of your writing team, if you will,
you know.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Usually I've had usually Derek Derek Chavez.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
I'll run him through because I don't like to tell
everybody my jokes, So Derek Chaves, I'll kind of run
it through them with them, and if I need something
to like, can I this is what the point that
I would make, Can you help me kind of restructure
it so it lands or what do you think about this?
Or so him, He's usually the one that I'll bounce
off of. I think I actually have if I can

(30:22):
go grab it. I think I actually have the original roast.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Oh you go grab it, Derek, you were there for this.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
We've heard not just from Kara just now, but a
lot of people online, Ben Davis, a few other people
have mentioned Sydney's roast. I think justin maybe I forget
I can't keep track down. This cast is very active
on social media, by the way, which I love, a
lot of people have said Sydney's roast was just like,
you know, a little bit cutting and maybe that's why
I ended up on the cutting room floor. Do you

(30:53):
remember anything she said or there?

Speaker 3 (30:56):
I mean, I mean her her stuff was like she
said she had never done a roast before, but like
she wanted to do it right. So it's like it's
I would imagine that it's so hard to like make
like make like crack jokes at people that like you
had don't really know, Like that's what I thought was
like the hardest part about it is like how are

(31:17):
you going to say things about people you barely know?
Because that doesn't work either?

Speaker 1 (31:22):
You know, you remember do you remember anyone in particular
who was uh who was visibly upset with things that
she said about them or to that.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
I don't. I don't think so, I don't. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
I don't know, you know what I mean. It's it's like,
you know again it's a roast. So it's like it's
like you were all sitting down knowing that like if
your name gets called, like you're gonna try to.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Act like it's it's it's a joke, but you always.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Have that that thought of like do other people that
anyone get offended?

Speaker 1 (31:55):
You know? By the way, I think, and let's give
her a plug by the way, maybe I misread this,
but I I think I saw her teasing out that.
I think she has a Patreon, and I think she
did say that, like, oh, if you've heard I did
a roast two and I'm going to tell you all
about it on my patreon. So go check out Sidney's patreon,
which I don't know if it has a name, but
if if it doesn't, it should be called Hello Sidney,
uh for all my Scream fans. Either way, go check

(32:17):
it out and then email me challenge maning a podcast
at gmail dot com and let me know what the
jokes are. Okay, Kara has her book here. Let's let's
see what I got.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
I have a couple, right, I have.

Speaker 5 (32:27):
So they did the CT one and then they did
the Anissa one, which I'm so glad they did the
Anissa one.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
And she was about that one, by the way, like
she got. The reaction out of her was perfect because
you did make a joke that I'm sure a lot
of people on the internet have been making directly to
her on the internet or have been dying to make
the idea of you know, her getting paid to be
at the retirement home. A lot of people say a
niece has been around for a long time. She has,
but the fact that she lights up and laughter I

(32:53):
think validates the whole thing, which is great. She's in
on the joke.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
Which is great, all right, I got I'll tell you
a couple of the jokes was like, they deserve to
be heard somewhere, and I'm glad that I saved it
in my notebook. I wish I had saved the one
from uh from Devon's birthday last year, but you know what,
We're just gonna keep going with these.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
CT still got it. She was America's partner recently.

Speaker 5 (33:23):
I believe she was one of the last ones up
the mountain, all the way at the back of the
pack on the first challenge, and now she's top three,
proving that CT single handedly was able to.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Make America great again.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
That's CT.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
I'm like, uh, because I said something about like the
retirement home after and he said, I was like, speaking
of retirement LeRoy's back.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
I was like, I swear, this man's the Jesus Christ
of the challenge.

Speaker 5 (33:54):
I've literally seen him die, rise, and for the third
time retire again.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
That man's unstoppable. And then I went, I gotta tell
you the other one I liked.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Let's see, I was by the way, by the way,
Lee Ryan cam officially married. By the way. News broken
by People Magazine retweeted and posted by the challenge. They
just went and got married and have made it official.
So shouts to Can and Lea.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yay. Good for them all right, love their beautiful little family.
I said, where are we at right now?

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (34:26):
I was talking about THEO and Olivia's relationship, and I
was like, that Relationship's got more ups and downs in
Ashley's personalities.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Is it millionaire or meltdown? Mitchell, we know she's a
little We all know she's a little unstable. Guys. Speaking
of unstable guys, Will still here. The only thing more
unstable that a Heights over Water challenge is Will on
his third voka red Bull.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
You're saying the person who wrote the question knew the
vaka red bull. They hell, they know.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
I was like, you know, the saying, where there's a will,
there's a way. Well in this house, where there's a will,
get out of the way.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
These are very good, honest with you, man.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
Let me tell you that. Justin one and then I'm done.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Then I'll go okay.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
Hen Also, justin that man went from last one up
the mountain to the top of the pack, even sending
home a champion VET in the first elimination. I guess
you could say he started as a bottom.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Now he's here.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Oh does a good your your Your roast was was
really good.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
It was I'm just gonna get better every every birthday.
I promise.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
No, I'm not gonna lie because I do I I
do want to do another roast, which is trying to
figure out who would be a good subject. And Anisa well,
and well Anissa would be good Derek maybe, I mean
what one day TJ Lavin I think would be hij mark.
We did very early, but it was sort of sort
of a briefer part of another show. He's obviously low

(36:13):
hanging fruit. Uh, you know speaking you want.

Speaker 5 (36:16):
The easiest, you want like well hanging fruit, you want,
you want whoever's the easiest.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
It's got the most shit going on. I mean, you
can definitely tear me apart three way, you know times
well we.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Could all, well that's when, to be honest with you,
if he roasted you, you then at the end get
the big rebuttal where you get to tear down everyone.
That's also a good agree that would.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
Actually be because I feel like I'd be really easy
to roast, Like there's too much material to like tear
me apart.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
That might have to be our Yeah, so we're like
I said, we're coming to Boston end of September, sold out.
If you do want to be added to the wait list.
By the way, because sometimes people's plans change, sometimes we're
able to add tickets if we don't use all the
I have them holding a bunch of tickets for our
for our guests, our friends and family, because as we
know you live there, we want to make sure all
the all the Sorebellos can be there. I know you've
got a good friend celebrating a birthday that weekend. But

(37:02):
let's say the week we have a few ex tickets,
there might be some tickets or anyway, email Challenge Mania
Podcast at gmail dot com of Boston waitlist in the subject.
We'll see if we can fit some more people in there.
But either way, maybe the next time we come to Boston,
maybe it's the roast of car Maria. I don't know,
we'll see. We'll figure out where we do that. Maybe
we do that down in Florida.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Buy you that would be I am totally totally down.
I can take a joke.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
I've been made fun of, like the I got introduced
to getting made fun of ridiculously bad when I first
came on to.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
The Challenge, and now I'm just little brother, Carl, so
have at it.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
I love that. Okay, Well, speaking of Boston, I forget
if we were going to keep this a surprise or not.
But this is a question from Paul. Paul says Carl,
what's going on with cousin Jamie? Will the champ ever return? Now?
I think he means to the show, the Challenge, But
any news on Cousin Jamie when we might see him again,
if not on a screen near us, maybe a stage

(37:53):
near us.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
If we're ever doing a Challenge, Mania or any kind
of gig in Boston, the connections, so I can just
dial up cousin Jamie and he can make an appearance
in Boston. But you know, he's got a baby, he's married,
he has a family, so you know, that's kind of
his life right now. He's a corrections officer. He's hilarious
and irreverent as fuck. So I don't think you could

(38:18):
even have him on the Challenge because he's probably worse
than Sydney. And you know, I mean, if the Challenge calls,
it'll be something to think about.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
But I don't know if he'd be able to leave
his family, to be honest.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
That obviously was a partner's season that we're and by
the way, it looks like we're gonna have cousin Jamie
back in Boston with us. He was actually a part
of our first ever Boston show, all the way back
in September. I think it was our second ever show,
second or third, maybe third ever show in Boston, as
were you. This was September twenty eighteen. So we are
finally coming back with both of you guys in September

(38:54):
this year. Seven years later we've been doing this car.
I think it's pretty insane, but that was a see
a partner season that worked out for you that you know.
Some might say you inspired a whole linguistics pattern on
the show The Bear they call each other cousin every
five seconds. Some might say you guys started that back
on Bloodlines. But then you've also had the other end
of the stick where you show up for fresh Meat

(39:15):
partner season and then you know, thirty minutes later you're
back on the plane. So this season is like partner's adjacent, right,
You get a partner, you get a partner, you think
he's your partner. Okay, now he's not your partner. Now
you get a new partner. How long is it going
to be a partner? Okay? This is kind of in
the middle here. It's a bit of a hodgepodge, like
when this format gets dumped on you, when you first realize, Okay,

(39:36):
this isn't my partner for the long haul. Is that
a pro? Is that a con? How you just started
settling in with your partner. Did you want that to
be the theme for the whole thing? Talk about how
this season is kind of partners adjacent and how that
fits your game these days.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
For me personally, it's a con because I want to
have one person that I can trust that's going to
go make their alliances, it's going to do their thing,
and that no matter what, at the end of the day,
I will always have each other's back.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Like I like the constant stability of one partner.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
But for the show, if you're not confused by the
constant switch up, which I think is can be hard
to follow, I do still think it's good for the
actual show because.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
You know, as a new kid coming in, they're not stuck.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
With the alliances.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
And the politics of one person.

Speaker 5 (40:24):
They get to learn about one vet, learn you know,
the challenge, whatever you want to bestow upon them the
challenge knowledge from their one VET, and then they go
to another one. So I think it's good for the
for the threats, and I think it's good for the
actual game because you know one team isn't going to
run the game. You're constantly being mismatched, and I'm sure

(40:45):
it'll cause drama later on because you think you've made
friends at one and now you get up a tramp
even though you've been front partners with everybody. So it's
just it's an interesting watch. But for me personally, I
prefer I've been waiting, I've been dying for one partner.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Yeah, this this is uh, this is shitty for the players,
or at least at least the vets because like, at
least like the rookies have just kind of established their relationships.
We're like have relationships, and then now we have to
try to like make friends with people we're not like

(41:22):
so friendly with, and like even like it's it's so
hard to manage. Like let's go back to the first pairing, right,
like we do the Mountain, we kinda we we think
that we're gonna get our our forever partners, right. Uh,
you get Jake, which would have been a really nice
forever partner.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
I get Lecca, which would be a good forever partner.
And then the vote happens and me.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
And Leca are on opposite sides of who we want
to save here, right, it was literally the house it was.
It was Carl Maria and her partner, Jake versus versus Justin.
Right was it Justin?

Speaker 5 (42:14):
Yeah? Originally, originally on the table it was Justin or Ben.
And it wasn't until like right before going down into
nomination that I heard Jake's name. And then Jake told
me that he said, yeah, they're coming after me because
you're my partner, because because of you, And I'm like, what, so, like,
that's why I reacted the way I did because I

(42:36):
heard it came from like a viv or something said
you know, it's not you, it's your partner and that's
why they picked him.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
And I was like and.

Speaker 5 (42:44):
So for me, it was a flashback to like the
season directly before when Johnny like you know and Laurel
put me into.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
The first limonade.

Speaker 5 (42:53):
So it was like I was just you know, I
was like, oh, same same story, different seasons, So.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
I kind of got a little my feathers got a
little ruffled.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
Well.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
And and they should have because it was almost like
that side of the house up there was it necessarily
they needed to find a reason to save either Ben
and Nanni.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Right.

Speaker 4 (43:16):
They needed to save Nanni, right, Ben and Nanny right,
because that's who.

Speaker 5 (43:21):
They're I'm sorry, why didn't Johnny care more about fucking
saving if he knew Ben's name was on the table,
why didn't he just save Ben and you know, also
be saving Nanni by saving the wasted.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
That move on trying to take a vote from THEO.

Speaker 5 (43:38):
Yeah, he literally made that up in his head, like,
oh if I save THEO, then do and it is
he can't vote, Like you made that up. You should
have just done a sure thing. And you know Ben's
names on the table, Nanny's attached to it, saved Ben,
he didn't.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
The saving The saving has been kind of a I think,
kind of a stinker, Like so far the times we've
seen it, neither team has really saved the team that
really had a chance of going in. You saw Mikayla
kind of up in arms about at this time, and
so it's just like it is being kind of burned.
It's like kind of being used as almost a burn vote,
which is weird because you know you'd hope that at

(44:13):
least down the stretch maybe it becomes important because that
could be a way you legitimately save a team. It's
almost had no factoring into the votes whatsoever.

Speaker 5 (44:24):
Like I wouldn't tell if I had to, if I
got to save someone, I wouldn't tell anybody because I'd
want to hear the names that were on the table
that people are saying that they're going to vote, and
then I'd sit there and then I'd make the vote
based on like to screw things up or to stir
the pot. I'd wait because there's always like two names
at least that you're hearing back and forth that people
are you know, tied between, and then you could really

(44:46):
like screw it up by pulling one of them off
the table and making sure the other one goes in.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
I mean, but like you don't get to hear the
vote and then save a team, like you have to
save the team right away, right, But you kind I
kind of ask around, you.

Speaker 5 (45:01):
Do know, like we knew it was Ben we knew
it was Ben or Justin.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
So if Johnny saved Justin, then Ben are they gonna
put in?

Speaker 5 (45:12):
Now they're gonna throw him Jake, you know what I mean?
Like he could have like saved one of the names
that were on the.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
Table right right, But I don't think he cared enough
about Justin and Naya right to save them Ben but right, well,
originally we thought he was going to save I thought
he was gonna save Ben and Nanni.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
Then he like overthought it, yeah, and and and and
then and then.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
They threw the Jake name out there, figured that they
could get enough people that didn't care to like piss
you off. Right, So my question is is, like how
many people did piss you off in that vote? Because, like,
to be honest with you, like you're not on the
table right like you would then maybe become a hang now.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
But we didn't know that. We didn't know it was
the first vote. As someone who was voted in first
on the first the last season, I did, do you
know what I mean? And again here we are again,
first episode, first vote.

Speaker 5 (46:12):
We don't know what's gonna happen. We don't know what
happens to the partner. I didn't even know a hangnail
thing was a thing. I just assumed, you know, the
partner's not going down because you're going down.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
I felt that, but I didn't know what they were
going to do to the partner. So either way, it
was like, you don't want to be the first one
voted in.

Speaker 4 (46:31):
Was gonna happen, and it was. It was, but right there.
To me, it felt like the like the lines were
kind of starting to right away but didn't.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
And it was basic. It was kind of like a
Johnny versus Car thing. I mean, they made they made
Leroy be the voice of it, you know.

Speaker 5 (46:51):
Olvia Olivia's taken all the shine off Johnny versus Car.
Like Olivia, I'm like, take it, girl, take it, you
take it, like was long she was around. The only
thing is like for Johnny, I'd be an easy pickins,
like he'd go out. He'd try to get rid of
me before Olivia because Olivia is tied to THEO so
he needs to.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
There's like a two. I'm like more of a disposable.

Speaker 5 (47:12):
I don't I actually I don't know what the hell's
plan is, but usually I'm not a.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Part of it.

Speaker 1 (47:16):
This question is from Brian, And it's interesting how he frames.
He says, who deserves more blame for all Vets, for
an all Vets alliance not working out so far, paranoid
Johnny who openly rooted against Vet, Rogan for and for Justin,
or Olivia who spearheaded the UK crew or someone else.
Now I would ask you, guys, is it even possible

(47:37):
to technically have a VET alliance when one of you
is always tethered to a new threat? I don't know
how tangible it is, but it is true that it
seems like maybe he's using the word VET as far
as like the you know, the real sort of OG
challenge Vets. Maybe maybe he's not necessarily including you know,
Michayla or THEO in there, things like that. So what

(48:00):
do you think is going on here?

Speaker 2 (48:02):
It's it's literally Johnny versus Olivia.

Speaker 5 (48:05):
Like Johnny came in still with you know, a stick
up his butt from last season, you know, with Olivia
and Olivia. If Olivia came in single, it'd be different.
But because Olivia is tied to THEO, and we've seen
Johnny do this before between Michelle and Devin back in
the day, you know, me and Paulie. It's like even
with you know, Casey and Nanny, he didn't. He doesn't

(48:27):
like when someone that he wants to have control over
is partnered with someone else that takes precedence over his
relationship with that person.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
So if Olivia was single, or if THEO was solo,
Johnny'd be fine. There would not be that immediately like
let's go after each other.

Speaker 5 (48:46):
But because they're in a partnership, I think obviously that's
double the threat against him, and he is he knows
that he's not going to.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
Be able to sway THEO or Olivia like because they
have each.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Other first, settle up, settle a little bit of a
I don't want to say dispute it, you know, disagreement
that Derek and I had when watching the last episode. Now,
granted Derek was there, as were you, and I just
watched what we saw on TV, but we've asked a
lot of the Challenge maniacs to weigh in, and it's
it's at least fifty to fifty if not kind of
swaying in my favor. So clearly the edit did make

(49:19):
it seem like what I'm about to say, I thought
as a viewer, they were making it seem like the
Olivia's of the world, and even some interested parties like
CT who chirps in a little bit, were very well
aware that by putting in America against Nanni, I mean
against Naya, one of the benefits of it was that
Johnny would be a hangnail and one step closer to

(49:40):
potentially going in. Derek said that Johnny made it about Johnny,
but it really had nothing to do with Johnny. Was
all about giving Naya a layup of a matchup against America.
We kind of went back and forth.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
It was a double It was a double benefit, it
really was. It really was a double benefit.

Speaker 5 (49:57):
So, yes, our best chances of getting Nya back in
the house, like that's an easy win for her, like
especially if like she's injured or whatever, like.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
Whatever it is, we would hope Nya would come back.

Speaker 5 (50:09):
And then if that made Johnny a hangnail, that just
because there's not a lot of chances in a game
to get Johnny either voted in. You know, we don't
think he's gonna come in last in anything, so getting
the votes to put him in when you already have people.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
Like I didn't know this was going on in the
other room.

Speaker 5 (50:29):
Like Sydney being like team Johnny, you know, and then
obviously all the other girls with a viv like there's
a whole room being like what can.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
We do for Johnny? Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (50:37):
So getting a vote against him would have been pretty
much impossible. So at least taking the chance that he
might become a hangnail and that his name might end
up on the table was worth taking, especially when he
was coming so hard for Olivia and THEO, which you know, I.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Kind of was a new trope.

Speaker 5 (50:54):
I was kind of like a it was kind of
like me ct Turbo Derek kind of on our own
island really.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
You know.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
But but there was definitely a line drawn. So you
have to do you.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
Think Johnny made Do you think Johnny made more of it?
Obviously the quote of the episode, the title of the
episode is I Am the Challenge. Do you think that
because because he really hammered it home, as did the
quotes and the episode name and things like that for
viewers that it was if anything fifty to fifty, but
almost sixty forty of like the Johnny thing is as

(51:26):
important that more important.

Speaker 5 (51:28):
I hate to say, I'm looking in a mirror. But
episode one, everybody voted for Jake, and I was.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
Like, it's about me, do you know what I mean?
So I can't pot call the kettle banana?

Speaker 1 (51:38):
You know what I mean? But very true?

Speaker 2 (51:41):
Who is the challenge? The challenge is TJ. Let's be rude, TJ.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
Very challenge, Derek. You're backtracking a little bit there because
Derek's over here like nodding with you. But like Derek
last week was acting like Johnny pulled this out of
his ass that I had to do with Johnny. It
was all America Nia.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
You know, I never want to give Johnny his flowers.
I don't because we fight like cats and dogs.

Speaker 5 (52:02):
But most even though Johnny in his head the world
revolves around Johnny.

Speaker 2 (52:07):
It is planet Johnny.

Speaker 5 (52:08):
Every move, everything you think, everything you eat revolves around
It's all because of Johnny.

Speaker 2 (52:14):
But realistically, this vote, definitely I wasn't. Yeah, yeah, we
would love to make you a hangnail.

Speaker 5 (52:21):
Yes, it is kind of about you, well as cringe
cringey as it is for him to be like I
am the challenge.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
That's just Johnny Like that what makes it entertaining.

Speaker 4 (52:32):
All right to be to be fair?

Speaker 3 (52:34):
We are all the challenge, Okay, and Uh, without all
of us, this would not you know this, this wranchise
wouldn't exist forty one seasons later?

Speaker 4 (52:44):
Does uh? Does?

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Does?

Speaker 4 (52:46):
Johnny?

Speaker 3 (52:47):
Has he been the flag bearer for many, many, many
many seasons? If it may be the challenge does not
continue going on as long as it has without him,
But there's a lot of us that have I've made
a lot of major moments to continue the franchise going.

Speaker 5 (53:05):
What is it the thing Johnny doesn't want the If
there's one thing I know about Johnny, there's a difference
between like me and you and ct. Where when we
know who we are, we know our place on the challenge,
we know what we've done, we know our legacy, and
when the new kids come in, we're not really thinking
like someone's gonna take our place, because what you're replaceable.
But we do want the challenge to continue and to

(53:27):
be great and to have a million seasons under the
Underarath pocket. We can't be doing challenges when we're sixty
years old. Let's be real, fifty like we're we're going
in the.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
Forties and fifties here.

Speaker 5 (53:38):
You know, you guys have carried the show on your
back until you're back. You know, needs surgery at this point,
do you know what I mean? So there's only so
much we can do physically on a crazy show like
the Challenge. We're getting outshined by twenty year olds. Now
it's just genetics, okay at this point. And Johnny, so
we're happy to as long as we have a place

(53:59):
where we can be, like you know, we know our
place on the Challenge and as long as we can
we can come back, as long as our bodies can
physically do the bare minimum. But Johnny wants the show,
I believe, to burn in hell when he's not a
part of it anymore, when he can no longer be in
the Challenge, whereas I feel like everybody else wants the

(54:26):
Challenge to continue and be great.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
Interesting take, And I'm gonna give you another interesting tidbit
as far as that that vote the episode UH called
titled I Am the Challenge was not about Johnny, but
he made it about himself. Was because Aviv Ashley Nanny

(54:51):
also voted for America and Johnny Wild.

Speaker 5 (54:56):
I was shocked and they did that because if they
didn't then like the fact that his girls that were
in his alliance voted for that really blew me away.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
Especially Nanny. I was like what and she goes, I'm
playing my own game. Fuck that, And I was like, oh.

Speaker 4 (55:12):
Oh y, yes, yes.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
And because because it was about America versus Naya first, okay,
that's what this was all about. First, who can Naya
go in there and be And as far as a
VET alliance goes, we can still hold a VET alliance. Okay,
it's very shaky because of these relationships like Johnny and

(55:36):
Kara where they will throw a shot at each other
and without them even you know, like expecting it, right,
Like the ripple effect was that alliance up there figured,
you know, finding a common common ground as to who
they could vote in and it was Jake and you
would you know, Biproxy maybe go home because we didn't
know that right.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
That was them taking a shot at you.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
And then this Johnny vote was about America going into
was about America going in against against Naya. And then
they can save Johnny later if if they needed to
see I.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Just think it's so, I will say, and this is
a way that Johnny definitely, I mean, and you mentioned
Kara that physically, you guys might start to you know,
be Uh, what's it called?

Speaker 5 (56:23):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (56:24):
You know, you know what's fading into the background physically.
But for for for a lot of viewers, for instance,
who this episode would have been pretty anticlimactic, ending with
no elimination, ending with a Hey, Nya, I know we
didn't let you compete in the Daily. We said we
have to wait on results. We just got the results. Sorry,
you can compete. A lot of people were crediting Johnny
for whether he was right to make this about him

(56:46):
or not. It turned it into an episode that seemed
more disgusting.

Speaker 4 (56:51):
And the same thing with the Kara and Jacobo.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
Had they not came up with this idea, which I
think probably came from him, it would have been a
boring ass vote. And I think that he thinks that way, Like,
you know what, justin versus Ben, that's what we're gonna
do with episode one.

Speaker 4 (57:12):
No, we're not Kara, Kara, I'm coming for you. This
is gonna be more exciting.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
Car Derek was not willing to say this. I'm wondering
if you maybe you have the same opinion as him, naturally,
but so to me, did it never cross anyone's mind
that whoever went against went against Naya was paired against
NYA was just going to get a bye because Nya
was not going to be able to compete, Like, did
all you guys just assume, oh, they're gonna say, am
I mri results of I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
She kept her cards so tight to her chest. We
had no idea.

Speaker 5 (57:44):
We had no idea, and whenever she showed up in
the eliminationary and it was looking kind of sketch for like,
what is this?

Speaker 2 (57:50):
And then when they announced that she couldn't, I.

Speaker 5 (57:52):
Was like, I was like, that was a free could
have voted me in so I could have got some
points on the board.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
Shit, because now I'm starting to I'm trying to do
the Aviv and Nanni math right, And part of it
might be that they see that their votes, wouldn't you know,
when your votes aren't gonna send in Derek and Tay,
you might as well not you know, do it fine?
But I also go, hey, if they think there's a
good chance whatever team goes in here is gonna essentially

(58:18):
get a bye, we don't have to show our cards
and they're still gonna be safe because I mean, Derek
said it when we did our episode breakdown, which you
can listen to or watch a challengemaniax dot com that
the big no no on the challenge is going to
the doctor getting formally evaluated, obviously getting an MRI. Derek
got to play in four or five more dailies and

(58:38):
eliminations on what we then learned was a torn acl
because he just said no, sorry, I don't want to go.
The minute you guys learned she went to the doctor,
I gotta think there's a fifth, nun percent chance she's going.

Speaker 4 (58:49):
Home nice, you know.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
Naya just I don't think she really cared. I don't
even think she cared to even be there. I'll be
honest with you, you know.

Speaker 5 (58:58):
And then I don't know if we're gonna be if
we're gonna see it, or.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
What's gonna happen. But I know that as soon as
Nya was.

Speaker 5 (59:09):
Gone, you know, Olivia found out that Anaya because I
don't think there's been enough to be able to show
you what's going on with the politics or what people
are doing behind the scenes. But Olivia found out that
Nya was Olivia's first priority as far as women above me,
like she was always gonna protect Naya in whatever way,
and she found out as soon as Nya left that

(59:31):
Nya was actively working against her.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
She was like talking shit about Olivia to THEO. She
was talking shit like about Olivia to the rest of
the house.

Speaker 5 (59:41):
Like she wanted to get Olivia out. And that's like
a revelation that comes later that we find out.

Speaker 2 (59:47):
And I don't know if that's gonna even be shown.

Speaker 1 (59:50):
Yeah, And I was, I was, I was looking forward
to yes, maybe and look Nya was, I mean, what
did she last three episodes? Yeah, well, so it's you
do sometimes see that they bring someone back if they
feel like there's something juicy enough to cover. But a
lot of times sometimes they have like a clean cutoff
of like hey, the first sixty or whatever. Right, And

(01:00:11):
what's funny is I had heard rumblings of this. This's like, oh,
it gets really messy, not Naya Olivia. And I asked
Olivia about this, and she said it's because since she
doesn't find out about it until Nia's gone. Yeah, there's
no confrontation on so that they're probably.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
So they might not even knowing the challenge.

Speaker 5 (01:00:29):
They're probably just going to completely cut that out like
Nia's gone, she's gone, moving.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
On to the next thing.

Speaker 5 (01:00:34):
But like I remember that Olivia was just devastated. She's like,
I like, what, Like, Nya is my number one girl?

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
Like how could she be.

Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
Like trying to get rid of me, to get me
out of the house, like what like? And the fact
that she was talking about her it was like it
was really it just blew my mind because I didn't
think Naya was like that.

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
So how much of this, let me ask you just
sort of my weird way of transitioning to your more
of a general Olivia question, because I've thought that for
as far as this season goes, Olivia is really giving
what I call like main character energy here the show
is obviously giving it back to her, But in a
way you mentioned the Naya stuff, how much of that

(01:01:17):
now is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy where if
you come off as sort of a Johnny Bananas ish
someone who feels like you are the lead character of
this story and whatnot, it might attract people to maybe
want to turn on you or at least put a
target on your back, or if you end up getting
credit for too many moves along the way, there's gonna

(01:01:38):
be some disgruntled parties. Have you notice? Great, Yeah, I would.

Speaker 5 (01:01:41):
Love people to take credit on moves, so I don't
get the heat on me and I can keep squeaking
by in the background.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
I think with Olivia, she definitely came in way different
than I've ever seen her on the other seasons. She
came in and she was, you know, she loved THEO,
but THEO was like not her priority. Her prior was her.
She came in Olivia's priority.

Speaker 5 (01:02:02):
Number one, nic as priority number two, like as for women,
and she was gonna make whatever move she had to
do for her.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
You know, well being she's she's a very loyal person.
Like I don't think Olivia.

Speaker 5 (01:02:14):
I mean, I know her her other season with nourice
and stuff, but I think she comes off as like
genuinely wanting to work with you and have your back.
And I know she came into this very confident, very
like every day she'd be giving her her her mantras,
her manifestation. She's like, everything good comes to me, the

(01:02:35):
universe favors me, I always.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Get what I want. I'm gonna win. She came into that.

Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
I had a phone conversation before the season even started,
and she was just so on a different level.

Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
I was like Olivia, I think this is your season, girl,
I really feel this for you. And she's like me too,
and that.

Speaker 5 (01:02:50):
Doesn't intimidate me, that doesn't make me want to be like,
oh fuck Olivia. She's confident I'm gonna go work with
Johnny to get Olivia out, like you know. So it's
so weird to me where you know, Olivia's done so
much for Nya, like on and off the season, like
outside of the season, she's been there for her personally

(01:03:11):
and like taking her on trips and stuff, like as
far as stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
That I know, and for that to be you know
what we heard.

Speaker 5 (01:03:19):
As soon as Nya left. I don't know what if
it's true. I'm sure Nia is always like she'll tell
you what's up.

Speaker 2 (01:03:25):
But you know what we heard was just you know
that Nia was just actively trying to sabotage Olivia's game
and that was really messed up.

Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
How much of it is the sort of cast alignment
of it all, Like, so we've obviously we got what
is really like a fresh meat season here. So right there,
sixteen of the spots boom, those are all newbies. Then
for you guys, you've only got eight veteran women on
the show. There's no Tory deal. There's no Laurel Stuckey,
there's no Michelle Fitzgerald. A lot of the bigger personalities recently,

(01:03:55):
Nourisse Matteo not on the show. And you mentioned the
benefit for you, since Olivia has sort of elevated herself,
whether purposefully or not, into this role that is now
very adversarial to Johnny, You've managed to take a back
seat on a season where if you look at it
a different way, because again, Ashley Mitchell's back, but she's
kind of on her best behavior at least so far.

(01:04:15):
You got a Nissa, you got Mikayla Fine. I feel
like you're able to sort of indirectly shield yourself with
this big main character energy Olivia. Do you feel like
without her there, Johnny might have set his sights on
you a little bit more?

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
I mean, who else is he gonna set his sights on?
If Olivia is not there, then I'm next? You know
what I mean? That's usually, that's just that's just how
it goes.

Speaker 5 (01:04:36):
Why why stop? You know a good thing now, you
know what I mean? If very broke, don't fix it,
stay stay, say how we go. But you know, coming
into it, for me, Olivia was my number one because
I'm not particularly not like I don't anything against them,
but you know, Ashley, you know, I know a viv
is always Johnny's like right hand person, so I knew

(01:04:59):
I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
You know.

Speaker 5 (01:05:00):
I'm cool with her, but that's not going to be
my number one.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
And then Nanni and Nissa, Ashley, like all those girls,
I'm not particularly close.

Speaker 5 (01:05:10):
I don't work with them, you know, So it was
just kind of me and Olivia and Naya. And then
I tried bringing Mikayla in, like right off the bat
when we were in the hotel, I was like, Mikayla,
come come hang out with like Nanny and Olivia. Like
I kept trying to like hang out with her because
I know she's a very like she likes her alone time.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
She's like a little cat. She likes to read and
be alone, and I get that, but I was trying
to like.

Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
Bring her in on the alliance and make sure she
knew that she had friends and stuff because like Mikayla,
I had, you know, hosted her at my house like
when I was in Montana.

Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
And so did that comment. Did that comment? I mean,
because there's a great segue to the comment you're giving
this roast. We're all sitting back back of popcorn, laughing
at you, making jokes, and then cut to this, I
think kind of an off base comment by Mikayla talking
about car Maria has no idea? What was I talking about?

(01:06:09):
Carbaria has no idea what's going on in this game?
Did that hurt your feelings? Did it feel misplaced? I
don't know why they put it there. It didn't really
feel like it made sense there, But what what say
you there?

Speaker 5 (01:06:21):
I'm gonna go with the edit on that. I think
that that was just a weird place to put that. Yeah,
because we were just having fun. It was just a
birthday party in a rose like. It wasn't that, it
wasn't serious, you know, it was a game related.

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
But she's not wrong. I really actually didn't have any
idea what was going on in the game. I was
just you know, going through each day.

Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
I was I was rocking with Olivia and I was
trying to figure out my place.

Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
I didn't know what the alliances were.

Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
It was really hard to figure out because everybody kept
switching and I had I never went upstairs, so I
didn't know what that bedroom of girls was talking about
I didn't know that Sydney, who was, you know, sleeping
with the enemy in our bedroom, was actually working with
the girls upstairs. And you know, I didn't I really
did know what was going on. To be honest, I
never really do. I usually just survive. That's how I
played the challenge. I just do my best and try

(01:07:06):
to survive and then have fun when when we can.

Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
Yeah, again, this is very hard to figure out. And
it definitely felt like me, you and CT were kind
of floating a little bit there. I felt, you know, closer,
and Turbo felt like we were kind of floating in there.
But it's also it's also very it's also very confusing

(01:07:31):
because like we're downstairs and they're upstairs, and we don't
know exactly the conversations that are going upstairs.

Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
That's why I felt very much like upstairs versus downstairs.

Speaker 3 (01:07:41):
Sydney was kind of starting not to like her her
living situation. But going back to uh Naya, So, by
the way, nyare retired from from.

Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
The I mean take that with a grain of salt.

Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
Yeah this will be on your next roast. Yeah, what
will be NYA coming back.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
To anybody ever retire?

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
But but you wonder like, what really happened with that Nie,
what the MRI really said, right, And if she really
knew that she was going home? I think she did,
And if she told anybody like.

Speaker 5 (01:08:17):
Oh oh so you think that, like she could have
gone upstairs and actually probably told the girls, hey, you
can vote because I can't continue to play.

Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
Yeah, and and and and give America the two points
because America not say and and I think that the
the the Olivia Nya drama comes from the UK girls.

Speaker 5 (01:08:38):
Me and Olivia sitting here thinking we actually are you know,
we're gonna get America gone and Johnny's gonna be a
hangnail and we're all like, and meanwhile, you're so I
can't believe my brain didn't even process that she Naya
one thousand percent probably told the girls, hey.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
You can vote in America because.

Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
I can't play anyways, but I don't, but they would
have showed that.

Speaker 4 (01:08:59):
They would have showed.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
That no, because they wouldn't want to give it away. Okay,
they want they want the reveal to be in the arena.

Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
But remember the big Anissa I because I'm with you
on this right, Uh, we actually had you commenting on
h on Anissa saying that Nia wanted to save America
and wanted Tay to be put in.

Speaker 4 (01:09:21):
Is that what it was? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
Yeah, we were so Nya.

Speaker 5 (01:09:24):
So Nia I kept telling me and Olivia she wanted
America to go in. But then according to the girls upstairs,
they were saying Nia didn't want to go against America.

Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
So she was just it was just Anissa that that
said that.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Right, Anissa told me that she wants to go in,
so I'm voting for Tay and.

Speaker 5 (01:09:44):
Yeah, and I was like, Naya, did you tell the
girls upstairs that you wanted to go against Tay?

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
And she goes, no, Yeah, So I really have no idea, right, And.

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
You wonder if she told anyone like I or you know,
I don't know if she did. I don't I think
she maybe, sure we'd have told the Lee Roy or
something like that. But you wonder also, like when you
get an MRI and you have bad news, like you
either go and like get have surgery and get that fixed,

(01:10:15):
or you go, I'm not going to have surgery, and
I'm also not going to do anything competitive for a
long time, and I'm just gonna let this thing heal
on its own. I'm gonna be a real regular person.
I'm gonna go to work because I can work. My
leg can do this much. But I can't go and say,
climb up a mountain. You know, the very first I
climb up a mountain, do the mud mud pit, all

(01:10:37):
this other crazy shit that the water tower like.

Speaker 5 (01:10:40):
Which, by the way, screw up that mountain, screw that
mountain climb because how offensive is it that we have
to show up TJ.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
You know, we're both groups are looking at each other's looks.

Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
Like, oh no, you're gonna run up the mountain and
then like we have a run and like that took hours.
That took an entire day. Meanwhile, the edit it's like
doo do dooo halfway up the mountain, no problem, did
do do doo? Bye, and like not to mention the
time that we were in the bus waiting for the
rest of everybody to finish. It took so freaking long

(01:11:12):
and the fact that we I hate going through like
an immense amount of torture for nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
That's why I even knew.

Speaker 5 (01:11:19):
First of all, I didn't care about any of the
guys like who I was gonna be partnered with.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
I didn't care and I didn't know there was a
rotation at that point. We didn't know, but I really
didn't care.

Speaker 5 (01:11:27):
And then that's why I didn't bust my ass going up,
because I'm like, whoever comes last isn't going home.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
So I literally do not care. I'd rather not get injured.

Speaker 5 (01:11:36):
So the fact that you're fucking racing up the mountain,
you are out of your mind, Derek. They don't make
competitors like you because the fact that you literally do
not care about the safety of your body.

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
You just get surgery on your knee and you're still
running up.

Speaker 5 (01:11:51):
The mountain, like like this is the final You're out
of your tins.

Speaker 4 (01:11:55):
Well, I think I could be fair.

Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
Originally I wasn't go I was I was comfortable with
coming in last, you know, I was comfortable with.

Speaker 5 (01:12:04):
Like until t table of the horn and you went
because you don't know stop.

Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
Well, until I started like pitter pattering my way through,
and then all of a sudden people are just like
slowing down, dropping out.

Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
I was like, oh, I could do a little bit
of this.

Speaker 5 (01:12:20):
Yeah, that's not how I felt too, And then I
and then I hit the group with like D and
I forget who else D and Ben and we just
kind of like stuck together for the For that part,
I passed like a ton of people. And then when
I got all the way to the top of the
mountain and started coming down, and then freaking Adrian, Adrian
and Mikayla flew by me on the way down like
I'm fine all the way up and on the way down,

(01:12:42):
I was like being cautious about the footing and my ankle.
And on the way down, Mikayla literally she must have
returned higher page she like slid on her ass the
whole way down, flew by me.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Adrian. I was like, what the hell, where did you
come from?

Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
How you made me?

Speaker 5 (01:12:55):
On the way down like yeah, I was like, fuck it,
my knees are hurting me.

Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Don't want the impact. I'm gonna relax, have fun, guys.

Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
Yeah, and I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Also, like with the water tower competition, here the did
you who's your partner on the water tower?

Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
Man?

Speaker 5 (01:13:12):
Can I just say one thing about this freaking challenge,
which I'm perturbed. I know Edit's gonna edit and it
is what it is. But for the record and for
whatever random people watch this.

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
I finished.

Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
I got to my platform about the same time as Olivia.
I wasn't like the last one to get to the platform,
Like we got there about the same time. I finished
that puzzle in three moves. I went shift shift, shift,
shift out. I had that piece out when Ben.

Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Was just starting his climb.

Speaker 5 (01:13:40):
I didn't pull the piece out when Cedric and Olivia finished.
I finished that puzzle in two seconds. That's why I
was blown away that Anissa took so long and couldn't
figure it out. I was blown away that anybody took
any time on it. It was the easiest puzzle I'd ever done.
It was a shift shift, shift out, three freaking moves.
It was out, and so I was like, Ben, I
got it, We're good. You take your time, buddy, get
up there. And then Ben ended up climbing that thing

(01:14:03):
like twenty times. There was a time limit on it,
so it wasn't just you fall once in you DQ.
I'm sure that's how they had to make it in
the edit, but I feel bad because the amount of
work that people did to climb that shit, and like
Ben literally climbed that thing.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
His body was not working, you.

Speaker 5 (01:14:18):
Know, he had like five minutes, two minutes, thirty seconds
and he was still climbing with every bit of heart
that he had, like as many times as he would
until TJ blew the horn. So like it is kind
of sad, Like I'm glad that it wasn't me climbing
it a hundred times and then them just showing one
time and then DQ and me because I'd be furious.
But like there was people that just kept they kept trying.

(01:14:41):
You had to keep trying until the horn blew. And Ben,
bless his heart, he never quit, you know. So he
didn't make it, but he didn't quit. And I did
solve that puzzle in two seconds.

Speaker 4 (01:14:51):
I will take that, yeah, and others.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
They solved it before Lvia.

Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
The other thing that I don't think they people realize
that they don't really show is once you jump in
the water, you have to swim.

Speaker 4 (01:15:03):
Eight feet underwater, yes, eight feet, And you didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
Discover that until people started drowning in there, like and
of Ev and they had to get rescued, and they
pulled the tower up and guys like Jerymie and Cedric
and Will could see how far down they had to swim,
so they could you know, I mean it helps to go.

Speaker 5 (01:15:30):
I literally thought that when you drop down in that
hole that you could like you can like stick your
feet over by the wall and like see and you know,
be under it and you just go loop. But no,
so not only are you drop it into that hole
of despair, and the whole thing's rock and the walls
are smooth, so there's nothing for you to hold onto
you when you come up for air, the waves are
crashing in this tiny little thing, so you're like being

(01:15:52):
drowned with the waves in it from you're jumped down
because it's all contained in a tiny little square. But
then you have to try to like come up get
air and then go the the how deep that.

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
Thing actually was in the water. That was another thing
that like blew my mind.

Speaker 5 (01:16:05):
It's like you couldn't you could just couldn't make this
any worse for the people that had to climb and
then jump.

Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
And and you have water boots on.

Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
Oh gosh, yeah, and and and the.

Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
Water the water is inside the boots.

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
If this isn't like you have like your regular feet,
it's like you know, trying to tread water. And this
leads to me to like you like you have like
what feels like buckets on your feet and you have
to you have to move that around, which leads to
me to my question about that elimination between you and
Toy on Season forty, which I thought was extremely hard. Obviously,

(01:16:37):
you guys were treading water for three hours or something
like that.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
You guys didn't have the water boots on, right, you
guys just had your free feet.

Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
And then at the end they said, all right, put
your hands out, yeah, and tread right. And then eventually
they say, get your elbows out of the water.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
They get, get your elbows to your ears, and.

Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
Please tell me how quickly it was over. Because I
can't do I have I can't do it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:12):
I mean I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
I tried to like train it because I think it's
gonna come up at some point in my life.

Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
But I can't. I really don't can't do it.

Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
I mean I after the fact in a swimming pool,
I did this, and I could like kick for a
little bit, but I honestly, you know, it's it's really hard.

Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
I know. That's how they train the like the Navy
and stuff for the Marines.

Speaker 5 (01:17:35):
They stick them in the water and they have them
like hold their hands up as long as they can.
I remember talking to Booth about it, but Torri was
telling me she was she was sinking too. But I'll
be honest, I'm glad that I sunk first, because fuck
that final. That is like, I am so fine with
not being in that final. That was the worst final
that you could have. Me and Kyland would have just
set up shop on one of the islands and said

(01:17:55):
fuck it because that final was horrible for somebody that
us doesn't enjoy swimming exorbitant distances for.

Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
Two days straight.

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
Exorbitant, yes, exorbitant, Carra.

Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
We uh, we gotta let you go. But we have
on our stage in a week and a half, so
we'll we'll have more time to catch up with you
after another two episodes of this season live in Chicago.
I'm sure that'll be its own podcast as well. Derek,
give her, give her one more question here, but we
got we gotta run.

Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
Uh I you know, I I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
Know, I've got one. I got I got one here
real quick. Okay, So this is a fun one, nice
one from Marcy, says Carra. I love seeing you with
what seems like genuine connections and allies these past few seasons.
Do you feel it makes your game easier or do
you feel your game is better when you are a
one woman army.

Speaker 5 (01:18:50):
I for my for my own well being psychologically, I
love the alliances and the connections like this season, I mean,
like rolled with Olivia, but for the men, you know,
having CT, Derek and Turbo and.

Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
Honestly even THEO because we were partners.

Speaker 5 (01:19:10):
And you know, I felt really close to the male
Vets this season, and I was really disappointed that I
couldn't be their partners. Like I was so jealous every
time one of the threats got to pick one of
our VET men, I was like.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
I hate you.

Speaker 5 (01:19:24):
I want the VET men. I'll take a broken Derek
and an overweight CT. I don't care because I still
believe in them over anybody else. But it makes my psychologically,
my psychological well being better. But if you want to
talk about the best, most fiery, you know, unstoppable car Maria,

(01:19:48):
it's the car Maria that doesn't have it easy. It's
the one that, like everybody's coming after me. It's the
one that, like you an't want to vote me in,
you just keep voting me.

Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
In Like that car Maria will never die. She will
make it to the idol and probably win.

Speaker 5 (01:20:01):
Like I, I thrive in adversity, but mentally, I'd rather
be doing birthday roast this Carl and having fun.

Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
Well how about this? Hey, what why don't you write
a few more jokes for Chicago. Maybe a Devin and
Michelle joke, Maybe a Ryan key O joke, a godfather joke,
low hanging fruit, low hanging fruit which resembles some other
parts of Mark's body. But I know you probably want
to take it easy on your moving company. Mark long
down there.

Speaker 5 (01:20:29):
Oh my god, can we please do like a mini
a mini roast in Chicago?

Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
Is there time for that?

Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
Oh? Yeah, there's more than enough time, And there's more
than enough tickets for you guys to join us and
be a part of the roast. John's Mania Doll live
for tickets. Kara tell people where to find you on TikTok.

Speaker 5 (01:20:45):
Oh if it's just the same as Instagram, it's miss
Kara Maria m I ss Carara Maria on TikTok.

Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
And on Instagram, and I'm actually on Snapchat at Carl
Maria MTV. I think it's fine.

Speaker 5 (01:20:58):
Yeah, I think it's Carl Maria m TV or its
empty d It's one of those, but you'll know it's.

Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
Mine, and speaking of adversity, in case anyone's keeping score
at home, I only have two points after three challenges
and Carlo Mario only has zero points after three challenges.

Speaker 4 (01:21:16):
So you want to watch us. You want to watch
us dig through the dirt and get to the top.
This is the season. You want to watch us.

Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
Points four anyways, we don't.

Speaker 4 (01:21:25):
Even know what it got four, yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:21:28):
It could just be for like a this. I don't know,
you know, sometimes the points mean crap. So we'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
