All Right, you didn't come for me, you came for
the He's the Governor at Texas characters and set.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
The Governor of Texas. What is this the Walking Dead?
But I was kind of like the Walking Dead?

Speaker 5 (04:35):
It felt like the Walking Dead this episode me Today's
fourteenth place finisher, Me and an Izzy Team Dizzy. Uh yeah, uh,
tough day at the office, but survived.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
We lost Kara unfortunately.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
We can get into that at some point, you know,
rest in peace to Mom. I know they didn't touch
on it too much, but we had the pleasure of
meeting Ronda in uh at uh Where was it Boston?

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Challenge Me at Live Boston? I don't know. Three four
years ago.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
Yeah, really really, really really hard hard that that was.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
The first That was that was the first time we
did boss. Actually you're you're undershooting it. That is That
was Challenge Mania Live three, the first the third ever
Challenge Mania Live show in September twenty eighteen. That's that
was seven years ago. Seven years ago, and uh that
one I remember, you guys went off and went to
I think her house, right, and uh got to meet

(05:35):
uh Rohnda in the family.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Right.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Yeah, we had a little house party there at her
mom's and uh, she was a pleasure to be around.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Her family was a pleasure to be around.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
And uh, you know, you just you never hope to,
you know, go through this with anyone. But uh, I
don't know, I was at the very least just uh
happy or I don't know, just uh, I don't know
how to say it, but like you know, I'm glad

(06:06):
she had some people there for her when she had
to leave. It was it was definitely an emergency, and
you know, she we were trying to shower her with
as much love as possible and give her the best
advice that.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
We could give her.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
And you know, I think, and I mean this is
not this is not for me to say, but I
think she she knows she probably left at the right
time because soon thereafter it happened and she was there.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
You know, well we should we should say, because so,
I mean I was interested, obviously, you know, uh, we
we got word and win that that this had happened.
Obviously you know that she had left early and that
and that, Yeah, she went to go be with her
mom up in Boston, and then within a few weeks
after that, her mom did pass away. This episode, they

(06:56):
handled it with a little bit of care, obviously, because
knows when they actually cut this episode together, obviously they
want to be a level of respectful as well. And
and this is happening in real time, so you know,
what we're seeing is we're actually we're seeing Kara packing
up and leaving.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Uh. When it with this is probably February, early March something.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Like that, when she ends up leaving you guys, and
then and then a few weeks later she ends up
passing away.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
I believe because I was actually just talking to her
about this.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
She was asking me how much they you know, before
she's obviously seen it now, but you know, how much
do they show?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
What do they say?

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Blah blah blah, And so I'm pretty sure at first
it's kind of just said some family stuff at home,
I gotta go. You know, you see her in CT
uh c t very graciously offering to leave himself. Uh
you know, whether whether he really would or not, who knows.
It came off as very sweet and supportive. Everyone else
obviously as well.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
And then I think through a couple other people, uh, leo,
maybe a couple other people.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
You mentioned her mom is meant it says her mom.
You know, they don't get into too much detail. You know,
they don't get into too much detail about how serious
it was. You know, she does mention getting a call
from I believe her aunt saying that she should she
should come home and everything. And so now, of course,
as you said, we can confirm that that that is
why she left, and uh, and that it was obviously

(08:18):
a good call to do so because she she didn't
have that much time left. So yeah, I mean that's
a that's a good place to start because that's where
this episode starts. But also it's obviously, you know, not
the most graceful transition into you know, people missing field
goal kicks and hall brawls and uh, you know, movie
plugs and things like that.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
But you know, obviously, lots of love to Kara.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
It's been a few months now, but you know a
lot of you guys are going to be seeing her
this Sunday in Chicago. We just mentioned, you know, Boston
will be up in Boston. Uh, that one's sold out,
but a lot of you guys will be there, a
lot of you guys will be in Texas. If you
see her, uh, you know, feel free to to, you know,
show some love or send some love her way, even
if you know you shoot her a DM or a comment.

(09:01):
But uh, it's never easy for someone like her to
to to walk out the door, i'd imagine in general.
But when it's this kind of decision, you know, and
this isn't the first time we've seen someone on the
show have to make this decision. Jimmy had to make
a similar decision, uh a few a few years ago
on All Stars.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
You get these calls and you never know.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
And in this case, she she thought she had a
good idea and she was obviously right to right to leave.
So as you said, you know, it's a it's a
terrible thing to, uh to have to talk about.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
So yeah, rest in peace, Rhonda and Carl.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
We all feel feel for you. Okay, let's probably move
on here.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah yeah, yeah, well okay, so on this episode, look,
let's let I mean we we we lose Kara for
a reason that you know, was outside of her control,
outside of the show's control.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
This isn't the first person who's left this season.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
We'd lose Naya a few week ago, but they handled
it a lot differently, you know, a lot more differently, right,
I guess, because we get a replacement here, we get
we get Champ.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Champ.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
John A walks in there. You guys are out there
about to start the daily. You guys are wondering what
are they gonna do? I'd love to start there. Yeah,
we've seen every scenario under the sun, and we've seen
them handle completely differently every time we've seen someone lose,
like an Ashley Mitchell got eliminated on Double Agents and
then they brought her back to replace the woman who

(10:32):
eliminated her, Natalie, So you never know what they're gonna do.
Do they have someone who just got eliminated still there?
Do they have an alternate? I can confirm Johnny was
not there with you guys that they called her on
like a day's notice and said, hey, can you be
here in Chile tomorrow. We can't tell you why, but
we love to have you. She was the alternate for

(10:52):
this season and had been released a few days earlier.
I think that you know, this is obviously something they
choose to handle one way or another based on the
alignment of the season. I wonder, had Naya not gone
home earlier, would they have brought in John A? You know,
I wonder, So you tell me, you guys are out there,

(11:18):
do you think can you smell another og walking in
to replace her? Do you think, hey, we just lost
another one? What say you when you when Johnny turns
that corner? How surprised are you to see anybody? And
to see John A?

Speaker 5 (11:31):
Well, first of all, you know, as all this is happening,
and we know that that Kara is leaving, and we
see her leave, all the speculation starts is are we
going to get a replacement?

Speaker 4 (11:45):
What are they gonna do?

Speaker 5 (11:46):
And I'm thinking they're not going to do what they
did with Nia in America and just not have a
challenge on a female day and let someone leave and
not bring a replacement.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
It's just too repetitive, it's too boring. Right.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
So the.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
To make a you know, not so such a feel
good moment better is let's make a feel good moment.
And what better way to bring who to bring in
than John A, who's so bubbly and so nice and
so sweet and so kind and the two times All
Star Champion, the person who's like literally dug herself out

(12:23):
of the Challenge Dirt from being like a one in
seven elimination record to the two time Challenge champ like
years later. So you know, so what we're seeing there
on the ground is everyone's lined up and we see
a helicopter like just just just coming around us multiple times,

(12:44):
and we're thinking, damn, they're gonna bring in somebody in
a helicopter and just drop them off into this field.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Come to find out that was far from the truth.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
No one was coming from a helicopter, but we do
see John A coming from.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Was the helicopter? It is quincident.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
We don't know, I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
I mean, it definitely looked like there was some sort
of like surveillance happening.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Well could have been, I'll be honest, it could have been.
I mean, look, it could have been. It's funny sometimes
like here in New York or like this actually happened
when were in La too. When you see a helicopter.
I started looking at my phone, like, oh, what's going on?
Is there like a chase? Is there a fire or
something like that? Like it's a local news crew. It's
possible that. I mean, you guys have a pretty huge
setup outside whatever. It's possible. They get when hey, someone's

(13:29):
filming something cool in the middle of the desert. Let's
see what it is, yea, and they send a local,
like you said, surveillance to go see that. Meanwhile, they go,
it's just a bunch of Jabronis kicking field goals.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Never mind, we thought it was avengers or something.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Well, well, it does kind of look like avengers, like right.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
They actually when we went there, we were blindfolded, like
they had us blindfolded on the bus for the first
time and we didn't understand why, but it was obviously
because they didn't want us to see some stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Right.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
But once we get there, there is this huge elaborate
setup and like.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
You got these colorful posts fifteen of you know, fifteen
times three, you know, sticking out of the ground.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
You know.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
I mean, it's they're they're they're tall, they're high, you know,
I mean, it looks like something is happening. So uh
so yeah, I mean but again, so anyway, we get
john A coming up, you know, Leo, you know, finds
out who this is. It doesn't sound like he's very
excited because he doesn't you know, Leo's like one of
those guys who like is obviously doesn't give a shit
about the Vets. Is very like abrasive about talking about us.

(14:30):
I mean, he's saying, they got to slaughter. We gotta
slaughter them before they slaughter us. I mean, this guy
is the mouthpiece for the rookies as far as like,
you know, let's take the Vets heads off. You know,
like this episode was very much like they're making it
seem like it's a rookies versus Vets type of thing.
And yes, we're trying to the Vets are trying to

(14:53):
keep our numbers. But as you can see during this episode,
you kind of have you know, Anissa versus Olivia versus Ashley,
and like this thing is just not it's it's falling apart.
It's crumbling, you know, like right here, right in front
of us. And you know, Anissa catches a lot of
heat because she does the ultimate sin, which is say hey,

(15:19):
I'm riding with you guys and on. You know, when
when the rubber met the road, as MICHAELA would have
said or did say, she decided to go and save Olivia.
Instead of Ashley. Olivia ends up being the hangnail, and
so does.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
You're you're jumping ahead, Let's stick let's let's stick with
because I think Leo you said Leo's not that excited.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
I think Leo is excited.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
He would have been excited to see a bag of
beans in a in a dress walk out, because it
means he's not a hangnail, or he's not automatically going in,
or he's not just screwed for having been car Marie's
partner the day she has to leave, right, I just
the specifics of it being John A.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
The guy doesn't trust me. Yes, the guy doesn't subscribe
to Challenge Mania for sure.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
But let me ask you this, among the vets, who's
excited Obviously? You know Derek Shava is excited to see
John A. U doesn't sound Mikayla is very excited to
see her. Who's excited to see John A?

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Are you?

Speaker 5 (16:17):
Well, well, I'm definitely excited to see John Ah. The
people that are excited to see John A are the
people in the UK Alliance, Because you know, with with
with with John A comes, Derek Chavez comes, Olivia comes,
Theo comes, Adrian comes, easy in some ways, right, Like
that's kind of like it just kind of you take

(16:40):
the the you replace Kara with another, you know, alliance
member for for them, but even a stronger one because
Carara was still very.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
Much tied to like ct and whatever he was doing.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
Right, But now you have John A who's very connected
to Derek, who's connected very much to Olivia, even though
maybe John Ay and Olivia aren't like besties by proxy.
You kind of got yourself a pretty strong squad there.
And as you can hear, michaela not so excited about it,
and the and the girls upstairs, I'm about to start

(17:15):
calling him Leroy and the Leroy And we got to
figure out a name for for Leroy and the women upstairs,
because that's kind of what the next alliance is and
you're not really seeing it.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
We're not really see what about what about Lee? And
what about Lee and the ladies?

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Leroy and the ladies?

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Leroy and the ladies. That's not going to get him
into any trouble at all. Let's let's coin that here,
Leroy and the ladies. Who are those ladies by the
way up there?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
All right, we're gonna say it's it's Ashley Nanni.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, those are.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
These I feel like approved ladies.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
I feel like and I feel like I'm missing one
more up there.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
The American Alliance versus the Olivia's UK Alliance, which kind
of doesn't make sense because Olivia is not in the UK,
but that's kind of what it's becoming.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
They're starting to call it like Olivia.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
And her Squad or something like that, Olivia's I have
no camp cam'p Olivia. I don't know what they're calling it,
but that's what it is. It's basically Camp Olivia versus
Leroy and his ladies.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
What about the Olivia Garden like Olive Garden but olivia.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
Garden, Olive's Garden, unlimited.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Breadsticks in Olivia's Garden. Okay, let me ask you this
because so this comes down to.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
And it's starting to sound like Mikayla's becoming the mouthpiece
over there with.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Those Mikayla's becoming.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Look, let me just say this about Mikayla. First of all,
she wins her second in a row. Okay, so she's
backing she's backing it up. What's the difference between you know,
Here's what I'll say. This show is loaded with really
good commentators who know how to throw a zinger in there.
You know Amanda whomever, right, what separates the Amanda's from

(19:07):
in this case, the Mikayla's and you know Ashley Mitchell.
She's someone who mileage varies. She can win a season,
she could be second out, doesn't matter. You know, you
don't know Mikayla is backing it up, but you got
a taste it at this episode as well.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
She threw one of those at John A.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
She was throwing a car a couple of weeks back,
which is like, man, this woman has no idea what's
going on?

Speaker 1 (19:26):
You know?

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Cut to John A walking around the house, first of
all being a little bit I think judgmental, her not
knowing where everything in the house is.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
She just moved in. But okay, but so again.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
But when you're backing it up, when you're running it
back again, when you're winning with whoever your partner is
week after week, honestly, it a makes your your commentary
stick a little bit harder and you're backing it up,
so it doesn't even matter if what you're saying does
or doesn't have merit, because you know clearly you're backing
it up. So Mikayla is really, I think becoming one
of the standout bets of this season. Clearly you have

(19:58):
Olivia who's becoming a standout at this season, but Mikayla,
I don't think people are talking about as much, which
is a good thing. You don't really have people who
have their sights set on Mikayla yet, which is obviously
a good thing in this game, which is we see
the flip side of it. People clearly have their sights
set on Olivia in some capacity. Already, John A comes
in another number for that side of the house. As

(20:18):
you said, Derek Chavez's his best friend. Couldn't be on
a higher high cut to end of this challenge. Obviously
he's on a low of a low because this comes
down to a field goal kicking battle between yourself and
we have Olivia and Ben in there who are struggling.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Ben really not getting a good look either. Olivia finally kicks.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
It for him, and then d and Chavez who made
that crucial mistake that you almost think if you take
that out of it, would you guys have lost here?

Speaker 1 (20:44):
So walk us through this. What was the issue here?

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Obviously the building that you guys had issues with early on.
You know, talk us through this, because look, this is
a season that you're going to be probably asked about
for a long time. This is probably your worst showing
five episodes into it so far.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
Let me think, Yeah, I have had I have had
one Last Place finish where my partner Blue went home
with that, and then uh, and then and then this one.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
We finished, uh fourteen out of out of fifteen. Yeah,
this was This was about four hours long.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
It was so hot.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
By the end of this thing, I'm like, I'm like
rethinking what the fuck I got myself into because my
body is just like what the fuck was that? One
thing you guys don't see is how bad the ground was. Uh.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
It was the It was like.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
A field but with like hey on top of like
like a soft dirt that had holes in it. So
it was like the most like uneven hard to run
through walk through without like spraining your ankle. And I'm

(22:11):
worried about this, like this acl that I you know
what i mean, I'm like seven and a half months
postop and like I'm you know, when you get fatigued,
that's when you start making mistakes. That's when you start
you know, people get injured is when you're like super fatigued,
and we were, so this is like this is one
of those challenges where when people are finishing fast and

(22:34):
you look back at it, you're like, how the fuck
did they do that so fast? You know, even though
I'm comparing body types, right, yeah, I mean, is he
maybe like one of the smaller teams.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
But like, you know, are we that far off?

Speaker 1 (22:47):
You know?

Speaker 5 (22:48):
I mean granted, like a bigger guy like CT maybe
he can rip through the ground just as fast or
a lot faster. But like you see, like Leroy in America,
you know, knock this out. You know, so you're like,
how the fuck did America get through this? And me
and Izzy not not get through this? You know, but
you know, I'll due respect to a guy like Leroy

(23:09):
and whatever America was however, America was putting in work there.
But like you know, I'm thinking, definitely, you know, we
should be you know, middle of the pack here at
the very least. But uh, you know, the first thing
is like it's a five foot hole, so you're digging out,
like you're digging five feet to pull posts out, and
then you have to bring it all the way.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Down and then do that three times and then you
have to bury it. Then you got to bury.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
This thing and like it's it's just not covering as
much as you would think.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
And I mean, I'm giving it like every.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
Single inch of of a tryhard that I have in me,
and it's it's still not working.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
So how many let me ask?

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Just because look, it gets edited in a way where
it gets edited for suspense. We've get it comes down
to you and Chavez, right, it almost there was a
little bit of I trickery were I I thought you
missed the kick. It was like it was weird because
they're showing you about to kick and maybe tell me
if you have this experience, obviously you know what happens.
But I did not know what happened. I'm watching, They're

(24:12):
showing you about the kick. Then they show the missed kick,
and I thought it was yours. Then they show the
kick go in, which was yours, and then they cut
back to Chavez and show that obviously it's them who
had missed the kick.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Did you notice that little bit of camera trickery there too? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Yeah, I went back and uh and and and did
the whole you know, pause, you know, check pause, check, pause, check,
you know, because what had happened in real.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Time was I was gonna ask, hey.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
They forget they forgot their ball all the way down there,
so they actually get their posts up before we do. Yeah,
but they have to run all the way down I mean,
if that's five hundred meters, like that's that's still a
good distance to jog down there in the heat and
jog back. So I got one kick off and I miss,

(25:01):
And then when I came back, I got settled. I
knew I had one more shot at it, and they
were literally like walking in setting up, getting ready to kick,
and then we kicked at the almost the same exact time,
and mine went in and his didn't. So in the end,
like mine just went in and his didn't. Like it's

(25:23):
possible the way they showed it, like had he made it,
like maybe he he may he may.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Have won, but well also I may he didn't.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
And you're clarifying this.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
So we're gonna say goodbye to the to the main
feed in the second just do exclusively over at Patreon.
But if they don't, if they bring their ball over
right now, we don't know because they never kick one through,
so you never actually get to see how good he
would have been a kick. Yeah, if he ends up
taking as long as Ben did, then you would have
won anyway. But but but how long was the needing

(25:56):
to get the ball and come back?

Speaker 1 (25:57):
If you had to guess, well, how much time did
that buy you? Guys?

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Guys probably lease two minutes?
