podcast and not just a snippet about a twenty minute
previews what we normally put up on the main feed.
But you're in luck because, in the spirit of justice
(00:56):
for Leca, we couldn't have Leca out there not being
able to hear this podcast for free. We couldn't have
all the Leka fans out there not being able to
hear this podcast for free. So that's why, in the
spirit of justice for Leka, d and I think you
were one of the people out there saying justice for
Leka right before you made your vote. We're gonna talk
to you about that. This is free on the main feed,
in addition to a gorgeous video exclusive over at challengemaniac
(01:17):
dot com. But you didn't come for me, You came
for the man. This guy almost went into elimination last night,
but he uh traded sponsor with another Derek. Mister Derek,
it's up for yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
And I am wearing that shirt that I wore at
the Bari yesterday with or last night where I had
the conversation with Sydney and I was like, listen, you
know what you tell me now, sid is gonna depend
on whether I drink this drink or not. So you
tell me, am I going in? Or is Derek Chavez
going in? Or as Turbo says, is Derek f F
(01:51):
going in? I mean, this guy is just you know,
Turbo is just full of random thoughts and made up
words in the phrases. And here we get another one,
Derek f F standing for uh Derek fake as fuck.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
So I'll not be wouldn't that be f a F?
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Probably?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
But in in turbosology in turbo talk and turbo talk.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Turbonology that's in turbology.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Did you say did you hear him on one of
the challenge uh, one of the challenge Instagram feeds him
calling somebody geysest, don't be gayest. Okay, all right, that's
different and and and you know, in a world where
we live and now, I mean, I mean, if we
weren't watching what we were saying before, I mean, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Well, I actually think it's the opposite not to get
We're not gonna get too much into this because lord knows,
I don't want my show listen. But I feel like
now it's probably the safest it's ever been time to
speak your mind on whether how you feel about gay people.
It's probably the probably the easiest time of the world
to do that.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Don't be gaysist, all right, listen, moving on, let's move
on to the next subject.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
You said, But what he said, I was like, oh man,
what is f F stand for? And then he said
fake a F which okay, good, Okay. I thought I
was gonna go somewhere else with it would have been
a little gaze, but you know.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, but no, he went you know, fake as fun
and then he also posted something uh.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
On his Instagram.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
He's got this AI you know teams, He's got to
have an AI team or an AI uh person manager
I think calls him a manager that puts all this,
does all this AI stuff for him. But he's definitely
has this you know, comedic mind behind him, and he's
very all about like respect and disrespect. And in this
(03:41):
in his latest AI Instagram uh he he uh he
he had he had he had the Thanos hand and
he said, you know, however, Thanos went and then he
made people disappear and it was like ct Johnny the
oh uh I forget someone else and then it was
(04:03):
and it was me and I was like, oh oh.
And in his caption he wrote, uh, here's for all
my pussy chickens or whatever. And I was like, oh,
you're gonna call me a pussy and a chicken. You're
gonna call me a pussy chicken as funny and weird
as that sounds and as comical as as that can be.
Like you're basically calling someone a pussy and a chicken, right,
(04:26):
and you're combining the words and you're kind of making
it kind of cute. You know, like you know, your
pussy chicken. But really I was like, man, is he
for real calling me a fucking pussy and a chicken?
A pussy chicken? And uh, turns out, turns out, turns
out he wasn't right.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
You had a feeling. You had a feeling.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
I did.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
I did because I sat and I basically I ate
with this guy almost every single day, like we met,
like we would just randomly meet at at the at
the uh, at the dinner table, at the breakfast table
wherever we ate, and we would share fruit like that's
just something that you know, like we would do.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
We would just be the fruit guys, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
And uh, And I thought to myself with with how
he is with the whole respect thing, is he did?
What did I do to get called the pussy chicken?
And I sent this to you and Mark right, and
I was like, huh is he is he really coming
after me like this? And sure enough in the in
the comments, he wrote, sorry, Derek, K this not you. Uh,
(05:28):
this it's just hard to this.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Man for other discs mine, for other Derek, my manager
picked wrong. Derek. Please excuse yourself. Yes, Derek, you picture
yourself in here.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
I so I appreciated that at the very he's got.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
By the way, look, obviously a lot of people these
days having fun with AI, present Company included, But he's
got like some some I like you said, he's probably
got like somebody doing it for him. But he's got
like some like I don't know, some new version of
AI that I don't even know if we have here
in the States, because to me, like the quality in
some of the stuff that he's able to put out
with like the movement and this and that whatever, and
(06:01):
how realistic it is. I haven't been able to figure
that out yet. So everybody you can tell when like
an AI trend goes viral where like you know, Remony
or whatever will add like, oh you can turn yourself
into a doll or an action figure, and then like
everyone's doing it because you can tell it, but just
press a button and do it. But like the people
who really know how to use AI, like that's when
you can get to like the movement, the video that
(06:22):
looks realistic and things like that. And you know, Turbo,
to all his credit, whoever he's got working for him
knows the shit because he's putting out some look pretty
comical stuff, pretty realistic stuff, but also, as you mentioned,
some pretty disrespectful stuff. So you have only been unintentionally
the target of some of this. Whereas I gotta know
what CT thinks about this, Yes, because obviously on the show,
(06:46):
is on the show that's you know, six months in
the past. Whatever it is, he's continuing to just wave
that flag. He's continuing to mock CT visually, physically, et cetera,
on social media. Gotta know how he feels about that.
And Turbo's the kind of guy like, look he he
We've been around him a little You've been around him
(07:06):
a little bit more than me because you just filmed
the show with him. But uh, we were around him
a little bit back in San Francisco a few years ago.
He did one of our shows. Uh, he's still never
done the podcast, by the way, we gotta try to
get him on the podcast at.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
The point anyone can get him. I might be able
to get him on.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yeah, maybe to make up for it. Maybe, you know, Derek,
because I I mess up and pushy call you pussy chicken,
I got podcast. Yes, there's they're trading for this. But
because because you know, I'm a man of my word,
take a rock up my cockouts whatever, you know, like
holiday time. But anyway, so yeah, see if you can
make that happen. But look, he's got he's got an
aura about him. I always say, he's like he seems
(07:40):
like a like a foreign movie star almost, you know,
especially when he's rocking those big glasses and everything like that.
And he's a bit intimidating. You know, he is intimidating.
But but that's what makes his like comedic timing so great.
You know when he like says the thing he says,
if ce t going to elimination, I'm gonna rock out
with my cockout, like you know, it's got a bit
of you know, not to make an insensitive comparison, but
(08:01):
you know I won't even make it. But yeah, it's
it's funny. It's funny when someone as stoic and serious
as him drops a line that like you'd hear from
Beavis and butt Head or whatever.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
But yeah, it's listen. Speaking of speaking of funny, weird
goofy ship, I mentioned my shirt on this episode. I
got to give a shout out to Tipsy Elves for everyone,
for everyone that's going on holiday or any holiday or
on vacation. I'm a you know, I'm a big chubby's guy,
but this time around, my chubby stuff got got stuck
(08:31):
in uh, you know, in in I don't know if
it's customs or got stuck at the border because because
of the tariffs that that came out god at the time.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
So my whole wardrobe.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Gets stuck at you know, because of these tariffs that
are that are coming out fuck in Mexico or Canada
or something like that. And uh and I so I
ended up with Tipsy l So thank you Tipsy Elves. Uh.
The these shirts are so comfortable and flowy, and they
got I gotta I gotta surf Santa. I got a
surfing Santa Claus with uh with with a with a
(09:05):
missus clause in a bikini underneath a palm tree. I mean,
you can't, you can't beat this stuff. It is, it's
it's incredibly awesome, incredibly stupid, incredibly awesome Tipsy Elves.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Like I remember seeing Tipsy Elves on Shark Tank like
probably ten years ago. Yeah yeah, so and I forget
if they got a dealer or whatnot, but they were
on there. That's where I first heard about them. And
again I don't know if they got but they're they're
blowing up and they do, like you say, they make
you know, for lack of a better term, goofy wardrobe choices.
But you know, like you said, you I I occasionally,
(09:36):
well look, look I got this shirt on Etsy. This
is a take on the Wendy's logo. UH meant to
display if anyone saw the movie Weapons. This is the
this is the crazy clown lady from from Weapons who
kind of kind of looks like the Wendy's logo. And
there was a photo going around to the director of
the movie wearing this shirt. I thought it was cool.
I grabbed it on Etsy. But yeah, so it's like,
(09:58):
you know, I love a good site gag, a good
luk Oh, look what he's wearing. So you, like you said, Chubbies,
who cour of course, are being held at the border currently,
but our friends over at Chubbies make great stuff, as
does Tipsy Elves. And let me ask you, so you
wore that to the show where like, So, I'm gonna
use this as an opportunity to ask a question that
I think would fascinate people, because look, normally we do
(10:20):
a twenty minute preview, we try to front load it
with some you know, conversations about the episode. We save
other stuff for the feed, but this whole thing's going
on the on the feed. Patriots say, this whole thing
is going on the feed, so I want to take
the moment to ask you. So famously they will, they
will confiscate clothing that they don't want you guys to
wear for whatever reason. But on this season, for instance,
I've seen Turbo rocking a personalized Turbo shirt where it
(10:42):
says Turbo in the challenge font right. You in the
past have gotten us shirt through, but then others have
been taken. We've tried to find ways of getting into that.
I believe MJ got a we want o G shirt
in there by accident. Once you've occasionally seen people like
Corey get shirts in that they after the fact decide
they need to blur, so he's walking around with just
(11:03):
a big blur. And then of course, you know, you
do see from time to time people wearing like MTV swag,
which is a hack. I think a few of you
guys figured out that if you go and you buy
cool looking MTV stuff, they'll let you rock that. And
then of course you were apparently able to wear this.
You've worn some Chubbies suits in the past that may
or may not have gotten you into a tiff or
two on All Stars with mister Steve Manky. So where's
(11:26):
the line with like logos versus patterns, versus whatever? Because
to me, like that happens to be, you know, a
pattern of you know what is it, surfing Santa. But
let's say you just rocked a T shirt that had
Surfing Santa like this big logo. I bet you they
take it from you. The walk us through the difference
(11:53):
between a pattern shirt like that that they let you
wear and a logo shirt they rip from your suitcase.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
With the kids, each person will will tell you that
they get different things taken away. It's it's it's really
I don't I don't completely understand it. But it does
go through lawyers like they they like when before we
go into the house, they go through all our luggage
and make sure you know we're not bringing in Probably
number one concern is.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
Like I've done that, I've done this by the way,
you know, I've had I've had to do this. I've
had to do this very thing on multiple shows, go
through people's suitcases to take stuff or so sometimes you
just have to greek it. You just have to fucking
tape it up. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
So for people that that don't know what what greeking means,
before you start calling Scott geysist, uh it means. Uh.
It means that you just take tape. And I don't
know where Greek the word greek comes from.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I could, I could tell you where it comes from.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
It's just take putting tape over the logo which looks
like ship on camera. And they've been trying to, you know,
do away with that.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
So like, for instance, say you guys have cereal in
the in the kitchen, right, instead of wasting time taking
the cereal dumping it in say like a plastic container,
which would like look a lot better on kick, they'll
take like a red box of fruit loops. And that
you guys have, what you'll have in the in the
in the production office is you'll have a bunch of
different colors of tape. Ideally they're different colors. Sometimes you don't,
(13:11):
and you'll just have a big piece of yellow tape
over a red box. And as you said, it looks ridiculous.
But if you're smart or if your production manager is savvy.
You'll have different colors tapes, so you can color over
a red box with red tape and it doesn't look
as bad. The reason it's called greeking, which again mileage
may vary on whether you consider this to be insensitive
or whatnot. But there's a phrase called it's all Greek
(13:33):
to me, meaning like you don't understand it. So like,
for instance, if we're walking down the street and a
couple from Greece we're talking in Greek, we wouldn't understand them, right,
So the saying is like, if you're talking about crypto,
let's say Adam Larson's yapping about crypto to me, I
would be like, this is all Greek to me, right,
So greeking something is making sure the viewers don't understand
(13:54):
what it says. Yeah, well, well.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
I'm hoping that at point when people see Chubbies, uh
see me wearing Chubbies on on air, they know that
it's chubby, it looks like it's it's out of it's
like out of the ordinary, it's weird stuff and you know,
but at the same time, it's like we need some
clothes to wear, right like, and it's not it's not
just they would want you to just bring you know,
(14:19):
something that has just just just just just colors.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
You know, they don't want, don't want what.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
They say, here's here's here's here's a just.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Just like one common thing that they say is uh,
any logos that are smaller than they need to be
smaller than a dime?
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Do they ever?
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Do?
Speaker 1 (14:37):
They also do they tell you do? They also discourage
certain patterns as far as like things that will look
weird on camera. They tell you not to wear a
lot of like a really detailed plaid.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
When when when we do green screen, when we do
our interviews, they don't want some they don't want anything
that's busy like stripes or green.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Like if I was wearing if I was wearing these pants,
I would look naked or look like I had lower extremities.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
So for example, like this shirt that I'm wearing right
now with the with the surfing Santa, like this wouldn't
work on camera. It's too busy, it's too many patterns.
The green screen just it does something with it. And
then for you, you're wearing a weapon shirt that's obviously
like the title of a movie and we're not promoting
that movie. We're promoting him, Ladies and gentlemen, well, I'll
say the Challenge is promoting the movie him.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
That's the real reason. So this is why I asked
you about that shirt. And hopefully this is going on
the feed, so who knows, Maybe some some Challenge gods
are listening and maybe I'm telling him how to do
their job a little better or worse. But that's why
I ask because the goal of it obviously they don't
want anyone wearing anything offensive, sure, but really the goal
of it is so there's no free advertising. And that
(15:46):
goes for not wanting to advertise a brand like Nike
or slim Gym or whatever, or Wendy's or weapons whatever.
But it also even like Challenge Mania for instance, which
is you know, they don't necessarily bananas. I think has
to like, you know, sometimes he gets to wear the hat,
sometimes he doesn't, whatever, And it's a question of are
(16:07):
they essentially giving us which And this is why we
we did, you know, the one time or a couple
of times we've gotten our stuff through the reason we
see a value in it is hey, you know, thousands
and thousands of Challenge fans are watching this show, and
this is a Challenge related product they could then buy.
It's great product placement. If we were to say buy,
if we were to buy a you know, thirty second
(16:29):
spot to advertise our art, it would be you know,
it would probably be one hundred thousand dollars, if not
more so. So it is free advertising. If you go
back and watch old episodes of the Challenge, right So,
and I think I've asked TJ lab In this, I forget,
but so TJ Lavin famously and he probably still is
in some capacity because he's a BMX Hall of Famer
(16:51):
is and was sponsored by a ton of brands, whether
they're extreme clothing brands, Mountain, Dew, Volcome, you name it,
right and back in the like two thousands, TJ. Labin
would host the Challenge rocking all of his sponsors, right uh.
And those now in perpetuity are logos that show up
on every episode of the Challenge that you guys all
(17:11):
watch on Paramount Plus. They make the executive decision we're
not gonna blur this guy whatever. But I guarantee you
there's half of the reason TJ. Lavin's rocking a sexy
ass pea coat now is not just to make him
look like a sophisticated host. It's because also in twenty
twenty five, no way they would approve a host getting
paid to rock a third party advertiser that they probably
(17:34):
didn't get a set from, you know what I mean,
that's back in the stone age of them not caring
or realizing you know that was they were probably like, oh, yeah,
we want the BMX guy. He looks like he's wearing BMX. Shit,
let's do it, you know. So that's really why they
don't do logos because twofold, they don't want to give
the free advertising. And technically, if brand wanted to complain,
I guess technically you could, they could complain. I've never
(17:55):
really understood.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
But yeah, anyway, like what you but you wearing that?
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Right? Tipsy Elves doesn't have a logo, or if they
do have a logo, it's secondary to what they do,
which is extravagant patterns and things. Same thing with Chubbies.
So I would argue that a hack and a few
cast members are listening to this Justice for Lecca. If
you guys are listening to this free episode, I would
encourage you if say there's a brand you work with
or just a brand you like that you're hoping to
(18:23):
down the show. That's a brands that identify more with
their patterning, like Burberry, for instance, right, would they let
you rock let's say, a Burberry bathing suit while you're
swimming in that famous Burberry pattern, you know, like the
little platform, right, Probably I don't.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
I don't, I don't know if it's I don't know
if it's it's so obvious that it's Burberry that they
may just say no.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
So because they because they they probably would see that a.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Lawyer, a lawyer, Michael, sure, Hey wait a minute.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
You know, but it needs but it needs to it
needs to be there's there's there's like a you know,
there's like a chain, right like so the people that
are checking your your your clothing, if they don't notice
that there's a problem with it, then it'll pass, you
know what I mean. So like for example, I've you
know again this You can also go into your contract
and and like attempt to get your Johnny Banana's hat
(19:13):
you know approved or or are our challenge when your
podcast maniac Hoodie approved, like you can you can attempt.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
To do that.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
But but but but typically like you know, if it's
in question, they they pull it.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
You know, if you have about that, if you have
fruit of the loom underwear on your on.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Your uh on, on your you know, on your underwear,
you can see the fruit of the loom on you know,
the on the strap like that sometimes gets taken away
and you gotta go, hey, I need my freaking underwear back,
like and they'll tell you listen, then keep it covered up,
you know.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
And I covered up the MJ we Want o g
shirt that he got through. I think they looked at
it quickly and thought it was an MTV logo because
the cou because if you look, if you go to
Challenge Mania Dot shop, where you can get one of
our most popular items of all time. By the way,
some credit this very logo and shirt with starting the
Wee Watto, G's and All Stars movement, but it does
(20:11):
it's meant to look like the MTV logo. They might
have looked really quick and thought it was that other
people have worn some the cam stuff we briefly had because.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
The Hall the Hall Brawl was recently on off.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Yeah, so again maybe they're maybe they're thinking it's their thing,
you know. By the way, I will say, just to
show them some love the challenge has since what have
we been doing this for seven years? They have stepped
their merch game up, so you can go now and
they sell they sell some pretty legit challenge stuff, old
school logos. They sell one that's got like all the
(20:44):
old season logos on it. You know. They sell a
cool tied I hoodie sweatpants thing that says the challenge.
I think you get water bottles and say the challenge.
I think you put your you can make like a
shirt that says the challenge with your name on it.
And then they also sell like the was like kind
of hip hoppy looking shirts where it's one's TJ Labin
one ct one's Anissa. I think there might be a
(21:07):
nonny one. Uh, they sell those, So they've stepped their
merch game up. I think maybe we might have I
don't say forced their hand, but maybe showed them that
there was a market for challenge merch. Lord knows there's
a lot of unauthorized challenge merch on Etsy where I
got this because the weapons people who made weapons are
not getting a dollar from this shirt. Uh. Etsy is
the wild wild West as far as that's concerned. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Yeah, but if you but if you want to support
your local mom and pop shop, but you know, feel
free to stop in challenging to dot shop and get
a couple of those originals. Here's one more quick story
about this, and let's move on to Justice for Laca
or Justice for CT. Okay, we'll move on to the
name of this episode is is justice for Laca? This
might be the the you know, the the most interesting,
(21:51):
uh title we've had since at least someone's getting laid,
So you know, we're we're really, we're really on top.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Of our titles this season.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I wonder if next episode the title will be Justice
for CT since he comes up, you know, winning this elimination. Well,
we'll talk about that in a second Justice Colective versus
Justice for CT. But I will say this, I did
try to get some MTV, uh some MTV stuff through
on this season through uh What's What's homage?
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Through homage Homage has some like uh.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Like uh MTV Unplugged shirt, MTV Your Wrap shirt, MTV
BBS and butt head stuff.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
And as I try.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
To get it through, they noticed the tag was not
it was not MTV, So I got I got that
stuff pulled, so uh yeah, yeah, I tried. I tried,
Tipsy oves got through. Okay, let's go. Let's move on
to just I wonder.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Also, I wonder, also Beavis and butt Headers are a
little is there something else there with that where it's like,
you know, it was just the MTV logo, it'd be
a little different.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Yeah, I got one MTV through Yeah, I got one. Anything.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
I remember you famously wore a spring Break shirt on
your first season of All Stars when you were having
that morning beer, which we then turned into a morning
Beer T shirt that you can get a Challenge Mania
Dot shot. But we get people who come to Challenge
Mania Lives. By the way, and if you go to
challenge Mania dot Live and get tickets to all of
our shows and events, our next one is Boston sold out.
But I did just we normally we hold a few
(23:31):
tickets for the guest list, and I told them, look,
you can release ten of those backs. So if you've
been dying to go to Boston, keep your eyes on
the ticket page. It's possible to show up. It's possible.
They have just so many people on their waitlist that
they don't even go on the site. But keep your
eyes peeled. If you need Boston tickets, but that show
sold out. That's next week October fifth. We're coming to Detroit.
Hell of a lineup. We just added Leo, one of
(23:53):
the hot new threats from this season. I saw him
out there doing a promo with Marlon. Wayne's for him.
I don't know if you saw that. I guess him
and Johnny did that. But yeah, I'll answer that. So Leo, Lee, Roy,
Zach Nichols, Nanny West, Tiffany Who's going into the Traders
Castle next season. Really cool lineup for Detroit. Tickets available.
(24:14):
A Challenge MANI dot Live. I mentioned these and all
of our shows Buffalo, Nashville, Texas, et cetera, because at
these shows you see people, they show up, some of
them are wearing Challenge Mania Dot Shop stuff, and we
always have a merch dance selling stuff as well. Some
people end up buying and are wearing the Challenge stuff
they get from the Challenge Shop and make their own
shirts that say, you know, Wendy on it or whatever.
And then other people are wearing sometimes like the stuff
(24:37):
they get on Etsy, you know, like you know, West
getting hit with the shoe from CT, Johnny Banana backpack things.
But a lot of people sometimes wear the Johnny Banana
swag or Tory swag that they sell, But a lot
of times you see people with the stuff from Etsy
that like we just can't make because the person doesn't
want us to make or whatever, blah blah blah. We
don't have a relationship with the person. And as I
(24:57):
said on Etsy, it's kind of the wild wild West,
where like that person isn't seeing a cent from that,
you know, nor are we or anybody. So but you know,
probably a very nice aunt in Nebraska is you know,
Knitting West getting hit in the shoe marker bags or whatever.
So feel great to support, but you know, when you're
coming to a Challenge Mania live show, anything is appreciated
by the people. But I do know that when someone
(25:18):
sees you roll up and you're wearing a shirt that
like you got on et Sea, that they're like, oh man,
I should definitely be getting a piece of that, and
they're not. Probably doesn't make it feel great, just you know.
But anyway, Okay, what were you going to say about
Leo and him?
Speaker 2 (25:29):
I don't think Marlon Wayne's and the main actor were
in the room with Leo and Johnny Bananas.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Oh oh, they were in the room.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Yeah, I could be wrong, but like it the way
the commercial is positioned, the way the commercial has been positioned,
It's like, I ask, it looks like I'm asking Marlon
Wayne's a question. It looks like Johnny's asking Marlon Waye's
a question. But they're just on opposite sides answering questions,
and uh, and and and then yeah, I believe that
(26:05):
Johnny and Leo are asking Marlon Wayins and the main
actor questions and they're responding.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
You know, I'm gonna I just asked, and we're gonna
we'll see what if hopefully.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Respond it's the commercial.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
If you guys don't know, we're looking at the commercial
for him, uh starring, the commercial for him which they
just marcial for him starring. You can just go to
Johnny Bananas or or Leo's Instagram.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Well they blew him out to different challenge Instagram. Yeah,
I saw that they were at least in the same place,
Leo and Johnny. They were doing that half of it.
And again I'm just asking, so we'll see. But last
night actually coincidentally was last night was the premiere of
him and uh, wait here we go. Now we met
them and did all the shooting together. It was sick
as fuck. He says, Oh.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Really, who said that?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Leo?
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Oh you just asked them. Yeah, let me say, oh wow, okay, look.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
That's journalism, folks. But what I'll say, So they had
the premiere last night here, so I had chef Adam Schefner.
It's Schefter, Scott Schefter. I'm got a Schefter. So yeah,
big woes so retired. By the way, So last night
was the premiere of him. I've talked to Jarrick Chaves.
(27:21):
He was there. He said that they were also there,
Marlon Wayne's and the other guy's name escapes me. I apologize.
Julia Fox was there. She's in the movie. Movie not
getting great reviews, by the way. Sorry but.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Hold on, sorry, We'll continue. But like as far as
like like can you imagine like from my understanding, Marlon
Wayans is like a six sadistic football coach that that
goes as far as like injecting his his high school
athlete with and I don't know if it's high school
(27:54):
or not, it could be college, uh like with what
it looks like is he's injecting him with like sh
madness to where he's at the point of they're like
killing people, and I don't I don't even know if
that's the plot, But I mean, I'm still gonna watch
it anyway. I don't know if I should watch it
with my son. It sounds because he's in high school.
He's like, I could be I could be Marlon Wayans
and you know, extreme, like we can both be really extreme.
(28:16):
But I don't even want to put those thoughts in
his head.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
No, I will say I probably would have needed this
uh tomato meter to be a little higher for me
to see this movie, because, as I said, they keep
they used to market it as Oh, Jordan Peele Presents whatever.
He didn't direct this movie, his his company produced it,
I believe, justin tipping his guy directed it. I'm not
a big horror guy to begin with, and I'm also
not a big like visual metaphor like allegory dream guy,
(28:42):
And so it seems like a lot of it is
kind of like what's going on is meant to like
represent kind of you know what I mean. Like, so
I'm just saying a lot of it feels like it
takes place in like another worldly thing. If you're a
horror person, check it out. But anyway, so they went
to the premiere last night. Here's who went to the
premiere in case you guys are wondering. So Derek Chavez,
it's interesting about to talk about. Derek Shaves obviously goes
home in this episode. Probably not an episode he was
(29:03):
looking forward to watching. I know he's gonna be doing
some podcasts this week, but he didn't have to sit
at home watching this and watching Twitter and hearing what
you guys got to think about it, because he's off
gallivanting at the premiere in Los Angeles because he won
those by beating Ben in the Hymn Challenge. So you
grew up on the era of the Challenge where every
elimination or every daily you got some sort of a prize.
(29:24):
Now it's pretty much limited to like one or two
a season where you get like a Burger King gift
card or invited to a premiere. Last year, you lost
the elimination. This is why I'm bringing this up. You
lost the elimination to Corey. That one Corey and Rachel
tickets to the Gladiator to premiere, And I do know
I believe Rachel did and did invite you or try
(29:45):
to invite you, right, you just couldn't go. You just
couldn't go. But Corey did not, right, Corey did not
invite you. But on the other side here, but but
Derek Schavez did that. Derek Schavez used his plus one
on Ben who he beaten that elimination. So at the
her last night, if you look at the photos, was
Derek Chavez who won that ticket, Farren Square Ben who lost.
(30:07):
But honestly one you know the respect from Derek Chavez
and got invited to his plus one and Johnny Bananas,
who gets invited to everything because's Johny Banas. So so
that's who was He did.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Do the commercial, well he did do the commercial, yeah,
and he did, and he didn't and he didn't get
invited to the vm as.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Only Kara did.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Johnny No, no, no, So you want to talk VMA's,
well talk VMA. So uh, he did get invited to
the vm as. This is who they invited to the VMAs.
They invited Johnny, they invited Kara, they invited a Nissa,
and they invited ct And they might have invited more people,
but I know those I believe were the only four.
And this is probably uh what's gonna go viral from
(30:46):
this episode, but I'm sure some of these people have
said it too. But so basically, you know, Anissa power
to her because she she didn't end up making this decision,
but she comes she comes back from another trip. He'll
be finding out soon about that, but you know, and
she's just like, hey, they invited me to the VMAs.
And the VMA's were on Sunday, September seventh, the same
(31:07):
night slash day as Challenge Mania Phoenix, which she had
been advertised for and was about to do, and she's like, so,
I might need to cancel, you know, And I've been
doing all this traveling and I got the reunion coming
up and blah blah blah and blah blah blah. And
I'm like, all right, well, let me know. You know,
we would hate to miss you. But then we're in
Chicago and we're having dinner and Carl Maria is telling
(31:28):
me that yeah. She's like, yeah, I'm going to the VMA's.
It's going to be me and Johnny and Anissa, and
I'm like, oh, is it. I'm like, so A Nissa's
definitely going okay fine, And so I hit up A
Nissa a few days later to be like Hey, So,
I know you're gonna tell me you're going, but she's like, no,
I was going to tell you. I decided I'm not.
I'm not doing the VMAs. I'm company with you guys.
And so she so she skipped the VMA's. She came
(31:50):
to Phoenix. Those you guys who were there, I know
you're thankful. And here's what I'll say. It's twofold one
is as a Nissa said in her social media she
made a commitment. She probably wanted to do that, but
they didn't make the decision that hard for her, and
I'll tell you why. So this is how they invited
them to the VMAs. You got if you guys want
(32:10):
to fly yourself out or drive yourself out, and it's
in Long Island, So yeah, I want to taken that. Okay, okay,
flys about put yourself up. No, no, no, guess what,
but guess what Nicole. Nicole wouldn't have been able to go.
And here's it gets worse than that, right, So.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Well, let's keep it.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Let's keep it.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Let's keep it, let's keep it, you know, positive positive side.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Car Mareea flies herself up, stays with another cast member.
I won't say who but another cast member stays with
them to save a little bit of money, but stays
with them. Sure, when she starts to find out that
these other Challenge cast members are declining, Cet decides, Hey,
I'm not gonna go what but and because none of
them are offered a plus one, right, it's just hey,
(32:52):
come represent the Challenge, put yourself up, and we're not
even gonna make it easy for you to let you
have a travel buddy, right. So she calls them back
and goes, hey, I know CT's not doing it. I
know a niece is not doing it. I happen to
be staying with another cast member. Can they have one
of their tickets? And they go, no, if you guys
aren't going, we're going to offer them to people from
(33:12):
another show. So literally, that's how and that's how weird
the bureaucracy is with this stuff. You may have seen
Ben's post about the reunion. People were asking Ben, are
you going to the reunion? Ben is not? He Uh then, look,
this isn't specific to Ben or season forty one. If
you notice, they this is a cast of thirty two
people they in the past few years and pretty much
actually not even the past few years, they almost never
(33:33):
bring out the full cast, right, and instead of picking
favorites and picking and choosing, they pretty much probably go, like,
the first eight people out, we're not going to invite,
regardless of who you are. If you notice on season
forty there were some heavy hitters who were out first,
Mark Leroy, you know, these are people you'd want at
your reunion, but they weren't invited. Paulie included. Paulie flew
(33:55):
himself out to Amsterdam, put himself up because at the
time he's with Kara Cars going in any way, he
wants to see his friends. He's there, he's offering, hey,
I'll be out there whatever I was told. They didn't
even let him in the building, Like they wouldn't even
let him come and watch.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
So hey, look, there's gotta be reasons behind this, right,
Like if even if it's like, all right, these are
your just the four stars of the show that we
want to represent the challenge, Okay, only two of them
can make it, Well we've got there.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
It ended up being only one. Johnny ended up bailing two.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Oh so mate, So you know, I mean Carr was.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
There by herself. That's the crazy thing. The idea that
you would potentially have room for four people to represent
the challenge. It gets down to one, and you can't,
even as a show of thankfulness to that one, say okay,
you can bring your plus one who happens to also
be from the challenge, so that we can have two
people from the challenge. They'd rather just have one.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
So I mean, it's whatever the case.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Maybe there's got to be reasons behind all this, but
you know, like I'm not We're not gonna sit here,
and like, you know.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
I know what the reason is. They don't want to
look like they're choosing favorites. Uh, they don't want and
they want to be able to have a hardline response
of we only have only these four and whatever, right
you know, and and and that's how it is, you know.
And and with the reunion, same thing. I think it'll
be interesting to see what the cutoff is because I
(35:27):
know Derek Chavez is going Uh so the cutoff is
somewhere between episode one and episode eight.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
So who got eliminated before Ben? Just out of curiosity?
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Uh well, nya, nya, but you know, not the old
fashioned way, Kara, But you know, not the old fashioned way.
Johnny Bananas, who I bet you they are not gonna
invite probably.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
No, no way, No, Johnny was one, one hundred percent
going to be at this reunion.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
You think he's there.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah, just like listen, the four names you mentioned that
got invited to the to the VMAs. Those are the
faces of your franchise, right Like you think that they're
gonna invite those four to to the to the VMA's
to be your the only people you invite and and
(36:18):
not invite them to the to the reunion. I just don't.
I don't see, Like, look, maybe Kara, you know, maybe Kara.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
You know, like.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Johnny has a way of like involving himself.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
He fucking says, I am the challenge.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
He has a way of involving himself into every storyline,
like he is a part of every storyline.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
He is going to have something to say.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
I mean, well, I know, but I'm just saying for
there and just goes back to the heart of.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
A lot to say, he's gonna have a lot to say.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
So so you, I mean, you probably know.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
It will be centered. The reunion's center around this guy,
you know what I mean, And if you you don't,
he'll make it so you centered around him.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
So well, that interesting because I'll just be I'll.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
Just be sitting in the back, like like just waiting
for Johnny to take a breath so I can jump in.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
And that is that's even if if I get a
chance to jump in.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
So let let's let's use this reunion talk as a
way to and it'll be interesting to see if he's
there or not. I'm sure we could find out. But
you know this is that let's use this as a segue.
I want to get to a question.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
And to give Ben a little bit of credit, like
this guy has a way of finding like of like
I seen him arguing with like moy Kano the other day,
you know Conna, Like he has a way of like
getting in the mix or saying something spicy to like
stir shit up.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
You know, like, well he's out.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
There, I'm saying, man, he is. And and it's crazy
that I mean because that that goes to show also
how talented he is as well, because we talked about
this a little bit with him on the podcast, like
he is walking through a minefield. The MMA community almost
to a person adamantly disagree with him on a lot
of things and views and whatnot, and he's out there
just left and right. When when someone in the m
(38:01):
m A world tweets something that he thinks is insane,
which happens a lot, he says something, he calls him out,
checks him on it, you know, and it's you know, again,
it takes a lot of hutzpah uh to do that
because you never know, one that when someone's gonna say, hey,
we'd rather, you know, not have someone who's out there
getting into it with everybody like that. But like you said,
that's what I mean. Go look up what he was
talking to him about. I forget what it was. But
(38:22):
you know, a lot of these MMA guys they don't
you know necessarily. You know, first of all, they don't
I don't think have the best belief systems at times
about certain issues. But also they're not very articulate when
it comes to some of them, and they let it fly.
I mean, these guys are used to just talking in
a gym, but they're putting it out there on social
media for everybody to read. Ben will out there be
out there sticking up to the little guy or whatever
it is. And anyway, okay, let to bring up the
(38:46):
reunion again.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
And get into a bare knuckle fight. I mean, who knows?
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Okay, so whereas uh, okay, so Derek Chavs all right,
let's let's uh, let's get to this point.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
We are we talking about Derek Chavs, Derek f F
or Derek C.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I'm the person I call him, I almost exclusively just.
I don't even call him Derek, I just call him Chavez.
Speaker 2 (39:07):
We talked about this, and I I appreciated. Uh. I
don't like being called Derek K. And I'm gonna try
to make this about me, but I don't like DEREKK.
It's never been Derek K. And since you know you
know me, there's multiple Derek's.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
On a season.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
I get called Derek K and people on the street
are calling me Derek K, and then cast members are
calling me Derek K. So at some point I appreciated
the end of this episode where where CT is calling
him just Javes.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
I love because I was trying to.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
Call him and put up you put on it, I
say Chavez, you say Chavez.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
By the way, it's the see you you're Derek k ce.
Chavez is the sea word in this context. I have
to mention another S word that's gotten, that's gotten well,
I'm not gonna say the sea word, but that's gotten
Chavez in a bit of hot water. Over the past
couple weeks, for some of you guys who watched our
Phoenix show, it's up a challenge maniacs dot com if
(40:05):
you want to watch it over there. We have since
also put the audio up over here on the free
feed if people want to listen to it. But if
you want to, I mean this, this ironically works better
as a visual. Uh. Someone uh, you know, ripped the
clip from from Patreon, which whatever made it a Reddit
thread and everything, But this question comes from Tara. Tara says, uh,
did Derek Ce have the see you Next Tuesday fan? Which,
(40:29):
for those of you guys who don't know, he held
up a FI. So the question was, we're talking about
I believe you know Turbo. Uh, we're talking about Mikayla
sharing thoughts on on these people. And when it came
time for Shavis to give his thoughts on Mikayla, he
you know, unfolded like one of those kind of fans
that get small and then gets big that you use.
And when he made it big, it said the word
(40:50):
as Tara has put it see you next Tuesday. She says,
did Derek Cee have to see you next Tuesday? Fan
at the Phoenix show in honor of Mikayla because of
her throwing the Daily tonight and ultimately leading to Derek
c going in and being eliminated so he would in
fact not see her next Tuesday. I added that part.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Now, I don't anyone that for anyone's still kind of
like confused on on what the fans said.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
It said cunt.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Okay, well there said cunt. A lot of people don't
like that word. A lot of women are very offended
by that word. I try not to say it. I
try to have a British person say it for me
if we're gonna need to say it, or as Tara did,
do the sea you next Tuesday, the sea word, whatever
you want to do. I know to like fifteen years ago,
I used to let that word fly all the time.
(41:38):
It was like one of my top five thin favorite words.
But now I get it. I get it, so I
want to be sensitive to the people out there.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
I've said it too, like under my breath, like joking,
and I have gotten absolutely destroyed for using that word,
even as a like a you know well, and so
that's what Chavez is in the midst he texted me,
even he's yo, I'm getting a lot of because.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
What I think in the room. I think in the
room it kind of played like a visual gag. And
to let you guys know a little bit behind the
curtain the other sea word. But he kinda he kind
of pitched this to me backstage. Did he had this thing?
And he you know, he goes, if she comes up,
I may or may not do this, Okay, So I'll
let's just to let you guys know. So I could
(42:22):
have if I wanted to stood in the way of
this moment on the show and in okay, And and
I thought that it was pretty harmless. I thought it
was more of a sight gag. Okay, I feel like
the audience there, that's kind of how it played right now.
Granted I would be shocked. Maybe I gotta ask him this.
I don't think he bought this fan because of her.
(42:44):
I think he probably had it. You know a lot
of people do use that word playfully. If you see
on social media, a lot of young people will use
the term serving see you next Tuesday as like a compliment,
like they'll say like, oh, Rosamund Pike and Saltburne is
serving see you next Tuesday. Anyway, Long story short, so
this comes up, he does the fan I think everybody
in the room there was a couple of oohs and os,
(43:05):
But for the most part, it kind of played like
a joke right on social media, on Reddit and rightfully so.
I think when you put it out there to thousands
of people, people started getting pretty offended by people questioning
whether it you know, is it doubly offensive that he's
you know, saying it or doing it about McKay love
all people. And I think people don't really know what
the root of it is. Why does he feel so
strongly about her? How strongly does he feel about her?
(43:28):
People were asking why people on stage didn't react more
strongly to it. I think that's a combination of a
some of these people may share Derek Shobas's feelings about her,
not myself included. But and the other thing is, I
think people kind of took it as a joke. The internet,
I think decided to because again they're watching the clip
from from our podcast and from the live show. The
internet decided to very much so take it very seriously
(43:51):
question whether he should be using that word as a
man and should have been using about her. Is it
extra offensive based on Mackayla and her back and things
like that, And I will leave that to every listener
in person to decide on their own. Uh. I will
tell you I think it was the spirit of it
was meant to be a little bit lighthearted and yes,
maybe a very brash way of sharing his feelings of her.
(44:11):
That now I think episode eight, we're seeing why maybe
some of these feelings uh have have come up. So
I ask you and then I will tell you what
Derek Schaves said, because I ran this question by him.
Do you think this is why he feels so strongly
about Mikayla. What was the what was the overall vibe
in the house when you guys saw that she was
I mean throwing this challenge that essentially got ct UH
(44:32):
into elimination and thus got Derek Chavez out in elimination.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
You know, in the moment, it felt like a very
you know, tit for tat thing. Uh It didn't you know,
throwing a challenge is is not something I would I
would see Mikayla doing, uh, like you know, prior to
it happening. You know, after watching the episode, it was
obviously very uh deliberate and uh you know the either
(44:59):
like you know, see you know, it's almost like like
Mikayla has now jumped on this you know, rookie train
of people or even like Nannie in the even in
this episode is.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
Like, yo, get Olivia out of here.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
Like she came into this room and she started talking
to us, and we're like, get the fuck out of here.
Like Derek is just basically Derek is Olivia's best friend,
right like, and it seemed like I would imagine Phoenix is.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
The home of.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
Olivia and and THEO now and Derek Chavez. So I'm
assuming this panel was Denisa was there, passed on, passed on,
you know, the VMA's to be at this panel, like
this is team you know Olivia or the UK quote
unquote UK Alliance or the Downstairs Alliance, you know. And
(45:53):
I just think that you know, Derek's you know, distaste
from Mikayla must be coming from all all the distaste
that Mikayla is having for Olivia, and Derek is basically
you know, backing her up. And yes, I guess in
this moment she throws the challenge. I mean, I've got
the times, I've got the time stamps here. You know,
(46:15):
Leroy and Tay only lose by like twenty seconds. It
was like versus and you know, like this is this
is Mikayla trying to lose right, Like this is like,
(46:37):
you know, Mikayla staying on the wall extra long, you know,
make it it seem like she's afraid to fall in
the water. Which look, I've seen her be afraid to
fall in the water from heights, like she did it
on the on the uh you know, the little Ninja
gym above water that they had us do. Like she
she I think she's just genuinely afraid to fall from
(46:59):
you know, a high up, which is completely understandable.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
But like she stayed on.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
The wall extra long when she jumped in the water.
When she fell in the water, it got into the
water she uh you know, obviously took her time, uh
you know, to to to swim and then yet ct
do what a lot of people who help their partners,
you know, swim is He went and tried to pull her,
(47:25):
pull her life jack, and she was like no, no, no,
you're choking me.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
So like, you know, she was very deliberate in.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
This attack, and on top of that, she was you know,
falling in line with the people that don't like CT
this season and said, yeah, fuck it, let's get this
motherfucker out of here. We're sick of whatever he's bringing
to the table, We're sick of what he's embodying, We're
sick of uh, you know, we think that he threw
(47:51):
the challenge to get our friend in elimination.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
Like Carma, motherfucker. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
You don't want to try. You don't want to try,
then guess what I'm not going to try here? And
you know, going back to whether it's you know, justice
for CT or justice for Leca, obviously this episode is
justice for lack and everyone is looking for justice for Leca.
But you gotta remember, like you know, Leka had a
chance to come back, right like you she got she
(48:17):
got a partner in that in that moment, in that
challenge who could not physically get up the ladder, And
in this challenge, he couldn't physically get all the way
up the wall. You know why because he's too fucking
heavy and I'm not trying to like I guess you know,
I'm gonna play Devil's advocate on both sides because this
is what happens at Challenge Mania, because like it's it's
(48:40):
you know, there's going to be situations where you know,
you know, things are more difficult for Mikayla and easier
for CT and vice versa.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
Right, these are going to happen.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
That's why CT is still at the top of the
the leader board and people like me are just made
it into you know, uh, he got his head above water,
has passed up some dudes, so uh, you know, my
my point is, like, you know, like the hate is
(49:12):
from from Derek Chavez is coming from uh, you know,
him protecting his his people, his alliance, his team, his
best friend, and I think that there is a big
alliance over there upstairs. They finally set it on on
what I've been saying, you know all season here on
Challenge Mania is there's an upstairs alliance versus a downstairs alliance.
(49:36):
And at this point, the downstairs Alliance aka the UK Alliance,
is becoming decimated and now like one group is trying
to take out another, and that upstairs group is taking
shots at the downstairs alliance and they're winning and the
rookies are winning. So those two subgroups, the rookie the
(49:58):
rookie you all the rookies that are living upstairs with
all the Vets living upstairs, like they're they're kind of
grouping up and they're saying, let's start, let's take these
people out, and let's start with the Olivia alliance. And
you know, they took out you know, her her UK
bestie who set her up with THEO at the beginning
of the season. Uh, you know, last last episode by
(50:22):
way of Rookie on Rookie Crime. And this episode the
rookies got themselves, you know, a VET guy from Olivia's alliance.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
Like that's what it is right now. It's clearly it's
like Olivia's.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
At the top of of of of her alliance and
Michaela looks to be like clearly at the top of
her alliance because she's got all the points. She's got,
She's got more points than any man, any woman, rookie
or vet like rookie Vett. Like she's got all the points.
Like she is the leader of her alliance, and Olivia
(50:57):
is the leader of her alliance. And they're taking shots
at each other, and that's where I think you know
the you know, the Derek coment came from. But also
you're right, you know, because like it could have been
Leroy going into this elimination, it probably should have been
Leroy going into this elimination. I think Mikayla took that
into consideration as well and goes, well, I'm LeRoy's part
(51:21):
of my alliance.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
CET's not like, let me just do everybody here a favor.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
Not everybody, but most people, least people in my alliance
a favor. Show them that I'm a team player and
that I'm willing to cross the line and go after
some of these bets and go after Olbya's alliance like
Mikhayla won.
Speaker 3 (51:40):
Mkayla won here is well, Look, Laurel.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
Got a lot of flack season forty for doing something
similar to get Emily out of the game. And we'll
see how people react to this. Clearly the people on
the opposite side of this move in the house feel
one way or another. Battle It'll be interesting to see
how the Internet reacts to you, because I do think
this is a sign, whether you like it or not, that,
like I've been saying all season, watch out for MICHAELA
(52:04):
she's coming to play. So when she had the keys
you know, in her hand, I mean, it's a lot
to process. I don't know when she processed this. Hopefully
or ideally it wasn't just up there on that thing.
But if it was more credit to her to be
able to process that throwing it is even on the table, right,
because let's be honest, like the idea that you like
(52:24):
like you like you said, they still came within twenty
seconds of winning this by accident, right and not when
I'm not winning, but it's just not losing, right, And
so to know that this is something within her grasp
to be able to kind of you know, you know,
pittle paddle over and be able to do it, and
that it's you know, gonna put ct in, gonna keep
Lee Roy out, like, you know, kudos to her because
(52:44):
you know that's a move a lot of people wouldn't
be able to make. But also a lot of people
wouldn't have even processed that that was her having the
her you know, her being in the driver's seat because
the way the challenge shakes out if you think of
it this way, think of how much of a big
deal was made about Jeremy and was it. It was
(53:05):
Jeremy and no, it was Sydney. Who had the power
to nominate. This episode was a Jeremy and who Jeremy
and Sydney Jeamy right rookie rookie pair. Yeah, that's what
threw me off. So so much is given to that, Like,
look at they have the power to select two people
to maybe go in right, so they get to select Shavez,
he still has to lose the pole against theo Right.
(53:26):
We're going to talk about the theo Hen thing as well,
but one is that Michaela grabs the bult by the horns,
and she's able to herself select CT literally for elimination,
not even for deliberation. And that's knowing that that's a
moment that arises for her to do that, And that
comes up only a few times in a season. There's
(53:48):
only so many dailies that are ripe for the throwing
in that regard where you are literally basically saying, hey, TJ,
you might be giving the choice to the winner. But
I figured out that if I make sure I'm the loser,
I can literally decide that my partner, who I happened
to not want to continue on in this game goes
(54:08):
in and so I would say big power move by her. Now,
the question was is that why? Now? The question is
was that why he had to see you next Tuesday Fan?
And I did ask Derek Shavz this. So here's his response.
I said, someone wrote this in we're about to record
the podcast. As part of the reason you feel the
way you feel about Mikayla brought the sign et cetera.
(54:29):
Is that because she threw the challenge that ended up
putting you into elimination? He said, Look, definitely not the reason,
but it didn't help me not feel that type of way.
It was obvious what she was doing, So there is
more to it than this move. I do think if
it was just this move, he probably would have been
able to get past it. I think there's a lot
more bruin under there about how certain people, not even
just Derek Chavez feel about her. And again, I actually, look,
(54:53):
I really like Mikayla. She has, you know, again, been
a polarizing figure dating back to her Survivor days as
far as fellow cast members go, and the way she
plays the game and the ware she way she wears
her heart on her sleeve, et cetera. I tried to
get her to come on the podcast this week. I
thought for a minute there she was gonna come. Uh.
Many people went and showed her the fan, which she saw,
(55:14):
and you know, I wanted hopefully to be the first
people to put her thoughts out there. But it seems
like she's saving those to bring it back in a
nicely tight, tightly wrapped bo for the reunion. So uh,
I do believe that is when she wants to confront
Derek Chavez, confront this issue. Uh. And look, it might not.
It might be the next time. Uh, not necessarily the
one we would want, but it might be the next time.
(55:35):
The challenge Mania Alive is indirectly referred to on a reunion.
I did ask Javez if he's gonna bring the fan.
He said, TVD, so see what happens there. But you know,
I will say I do feel that I do. I
do feel like some of it is in the is
in you know, in the spirit of fun. And I
do think look at people are offended by that word
(55:57):
that that's definitely fine. Uh. I think he meant it to,
you know, to prove a point, to let people know
and to let her know that, you know, he's not
her biggest fan, no pun intended. Uh So, look that
conversation looks like you're gonna have to tune into the
reunion whenever this season ends in that airs to finally
get her thoughts on that. I was hoping we get
on the podcast, but it seems like she's gonna gonna
save that for then, and that's her right to do so.
(56:19):
So there's two.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
Ways to look at this, right Either either you if
whether you're on MICHAELA side or CT side, it's like this,
you can you can look at it two ways. It
was either super smart, super savvy, next level shit challenge shit,
or it was a really shitty thing to do, right like,
because I mean for you to just like throw a
(56:42):
challenge to like deliberately put this guy into elimination, I mean,
is is you know, I don't even you looked at
as a pretty shitty thing to do, because that's.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
The Let me just say this. I think that the
way that they formatted this season, where you're rotating partners
every time, this is sort of what they want because
what they're doing is they're making sure that your like
her future is not tied to CTS, right, her immediate
future isn't even tied to cts by the time it's
(57:12):
a Girl's Day, she no longer is CT's partner. In fact,
I believe now if he had lost, would that have
made her a hangnail potentially if he had lost, yes, yes,
So she's willing to risk that. So she's literally going,
(57:35):
I would rather be a hangnail and do this for
the future of my game. Because here, let me just
say this, Yeah, CT is somebody who again, does he
look his best? No? Did he look his best during
the Lecca Daily? No? And is that why everyone's saying
justice for Lecca, Justice for Leca? But is he also
just a good person to get out of a challenge
season whenever you can? Also? Also, yes, I mean Tay
(57:58):
said something really smart in this episode to Tay, who,
like you know, has some pretty good dance moves, but
I really feel like she has some good social thinking
as well, because she goes I actually don't hate the
idea of being partner with CT because as rough as
he looks, he's still got the winner's mentality. He's won
a couple of these recent and these are my words,
(58:18):
not her, but he's won a couple of these recently.
Where he didn't all he didn't look like Lance Armstrong
at those either, And unlike past seasons, people don't seem
to have him on their radar as a threat. Are
they upset with him about the lack of thing? Do
they want him out for that? Yes? But should you
be worried about the threat level target being on your back?
(58:41):
Probably not. Now he walks into a limit, an elimination
that could not be more better and more well suited
for him. So I think, look, here's a question about that, Tara. Again,
Tarah's got some good questions this week. And by the way,
I did say whoever had the best question? Our favorite
question is gonna get a stick? So Terah coming in hot.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
Before before before you, before you answer, this is something
that wasn't shown. So ct had asked for Derek to
be put in the elimination, oh right, yes.
Speaker 1 (59:17):
Instead of or or or or before he was even
put up.
Speaker 2 (59:21):
Yeah, he wanted to go. He wanted to go against
against Derek, right, like, that was what he requested. So
me and Adrian were the first one. And now this
is it's either between you know, THEO or or or
or Derek, right like.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
You're just saying he was just super hot.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
After Jeremy and Sydney nominate Derek.
Speaker 2 (59:47):
This is this is even before right, like this is
all set up, right, this is all just like throwing
the challenge was a set up by them, by Sydney,
Mikayla Turbo and everyone else on the Let's get rid
of CT train. There there was just as much of
a setup for for Derek Chavez right to be going
(01:00:08):
to elimination. If it wasn't a setup, it was just
it was just like, now, is what CT wants, we're
gonna give him.
Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
Are the people giving him what he wants? Are these
exclusively now people who are are on CT's side and
that's why they're giving him what he wants? Or are
there people who are double dipping here who are like, hey,
I want CT out, but also giving him what he
wants is also maybe putting Java up. Now we get
one of each out like.
Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
So so so look, the first and foremost the Jeremy
and Sydney have the vote on who to put up
as up against THEO who is who was the hangnail.
Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
By accident?
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Again like this this is very much this elimination very
much could have been uh, will and and and Derek Chavez.
It should have been Will, right, Will was supposed to
be in theo's spot. Had THEO, we're gonna be forced
to get to an MRI, so it was. So this
elimination may have very well been WILL versus CT. That's
(01:01:11):
what it was supposed to be. But somewhere God said, Nope, Unfortunately,
it's going to be Derek Chavez and the Paul Russell
versus CT. Right, So like you gotta.
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Are the boats not there for THEO by the way, like,
like to be honest with you, I just in a
vacuum when if I really want CT out, THEO feels
like a safer bet than Derek Shavez. So I wonder there,
and they're both Olivia Alliance members, so I go. If
my goal is to get out either an Olivia Alliance
member or CT, I probably go with THEO because it's
(01:01:45):
one or the other, whereas no offense Derek Chavez. But
unless it ends up being like you know, swim up
this hill or something, I don't know that there's that
many that you're gonna beat CT. And because CT has
the puzzle edge as well, probably over almost anybody but
Shavs included. So I wonder what was THEO ever on
the table here?
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Not? Not really, not really, So let's get.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
To this injury aspect of it, because a lot of
people are wondering why this was handled so differently, And
then I have some follow up questions based on did
that play a part in THEO not being on the table?
Brian says, give us a detailed breakdown, Derek of how
these MRI shenanigans with THEO were handled compared to Nia's.
I have a lot of questions, Brian, I do too,
(01:02:29):
main question being this these situations were handled completely differently
in that Nya was made to go in because of
the MRI right when? And then right, wasn't.
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
That she she requested an MRI right like, she wanted
to go and get an MRI. So she was trying
to like basically go and see what was wrong. And
she went at like midnight and requested this. They couldn't
give her an MRI at midnight, so they needed to
give it to the next day. So they said, okay,
you can't compete then, right, even though she said no,
(01:03:04):
I want to compete. I want to compete now, you know,
I want I want I want to try and she
could have very easily probably done the swim right swim.
And but then again it's like it's a liability probably
on their end. Uh cast members asking for an MRI,
We can't give it to her in time, So what
are we gonna do?
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Just let her play injured?
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
No, we don't know what's going on with that being
so you know we're gonna say, don't play.
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
You can't play now with THEO.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
And she wasn't she then automatically put into elimination. That's
the difference. So so THEO, THEO has made the hangnail.
She was put into elimination. She was made, she was
made if she was effectively made the loser of said elimination.
Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
Is that what happened?
Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
I believe.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
And America was voted in instead of Tay I remember,
I remember that. And the whole argument was they gave
her last place, right, they gave her last place regardless,
and instead of giving THEO last place.
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
And then they at the elimination, knowing that the MRI
had come back positive negative however you want to put it,
and NYA couldn't compete. That negated the elimination. America gets
the win, and the whole thing was a waste of time,
whereas THEO here is put in as a hangnail. But
and this is where I have a question for you,
(01:04:25):
when do his MRI results get delivered to you guys,
because is part of the reason none of you vote THEO,
because you think the whole thing could happen again. If
theo's MRI fails and he ends up getting pushed out,
then CTS stays in the game anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
So I think that. So, first of all, like THEO
has been had been complaining about this knee for for
a while, and he had gone through all the precautions
of what we do when someone is injured, you know,
before you get an MRI.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
And it had been going on for.
Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
Like a month at this point, right, so at some
point you go, I can't give you any more, like you,
we've gone through the topicals, we've gone through the pills.
Now we have to get an X ray in an MRI,
right like that. That's that's that's the that's the progression,
right like when you have an injury. So they go,
all right, dude, we we have to do the next step.
(01:05:20):
It's our obligation to take the next step because you
are still having a problem, and he goes, you know,
I it's just swelling.
Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
It's just a niche swelling.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
It hasn't had time to rest, and I'm trying to
keep the swelling down. So just you know, probably give
me more ibuprofen. And at that point maybe these doctors like,
we can't give you any more, you know, eight hundred
milligram ibuprofen or whatever the fuck they were giving them.
We have to take it to the next step and
the challenge. God said, all right, bro, that's it. The
doctors are saying you need to take it. You know,
(01:05:51):
we got to take higher measures, so let's go or
stop complaining about I'm sure. After that, he was like,
all right, I'm just gonna deal with it. However, I
need to deal with it and give me some ibuprofen,
you know what I mean, instead of asking for a
doctor every you know, you know, every few days.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
We we as viewers still don't know that. We don't
know right now as viewers the outcome.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Of this MRI, right right, so next we know, yeah, yeah,
he's he's cleared. He's been cleared. Yeah, he's clear. When
when the deliberation starts, when the deliberation starts, TJ says
he's been cleared.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Got it? And that was on the episode and I
just missed it. Yeah yeah, okay, so did you did
you guys already make up your mind about it being
Chavez because as you said, CT had asked for him,
so or did the uncertainty about Theo's you know? So
let me go the competing part as well.
Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
No, so, so, so let me tell you where I
stand in in this In this equation with CT, who's
my friend and I'm trying to look out for, and
Derek who's my friend and I'm trying to look out for,
and THEO who's my friend I'm trying to look out for,
and Olivia who's my friend and I'm trying to look
out for. Let me tell you where I fall in
this of an alliance that's quickly crumbling. Okay, I go, Cet,
(01:07:06):
what the fuck do you want? Because I don't want
I don't want to, you know, I don't want blood
on my hands, right like I you know, And I'm
the first one to talk. So I'm me and Adrian
are literally finished in second place, and we will start
the domino effect right of how people choose to vote,
right and I haven't you know, gone through this with
with every uh every team. But I go, okay, listen this.
(01:07:28):
I'm gonna tell my speech, which they didn't show, and
I said, listen, for better or for worse? This really
has because I'm still trying to play the game on
on it from every angle, and I go for better
or for worse. The people that have chosen someone or
asked for someone have lost. And so in this moment,
ct has asked me two that he wants to go
against Derek Chavez.
Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
So I'm going to.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
Uh, you know, oblige those wishes, and me and Adrian
are going to vote for uh, Derek Chavez to go
into elimination. And then everyone followed suit except for John A,
who said, all right, well, you know whoever's looking out
for Derek Chavez, you know, and for me too, like
it was it was it was difficult because look, Derek
(01:08:11):
Chavez is someone that I looked out for last season,
Like there was, I decided to put myself or I
decided to say, hey, give me Corey. I want to
go against Corey into in this elimination with this fucked
up knee, and I still think I can win. And
I could have very easily been like, no, give me.
Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
Derek Chavez, right, No. I looked out for him in.
Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
That moment last season, and in this moment, I I
I had to, you know, throw throw a bone CT's
way and try to give him what he wanted. Everyone else,
you know, fell in mind. Now, could all those other
people have gone, listen, we really want CT out of
this game. We really want to make this hard on Olivia.
(01:08:55):
We should put THEO in.
Speaker 3 (01:08:56):
And I was curious.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
I didn't know where Olivia's mind was at. How were
you going to choose between your best friend and your
boyfriend who's now your baby daddy? Right, Like I was
like in in in you know, I've I've since realized
that this was a no brainer. I didn't realize there
was a no brainer for her. But she's going to,
you know, vote for for Derek Chavez to go into elimination.
(01:09:18):
So this was like a super you know, difficult vote.
But at the same time, it was like, I think
that the other side, who was like anti CT, was
still more anti Like.
Speaker 1 (01:09:31):
Well, that's what I'm saying. I think you guys are
kind of trying to have your cake and eat it
too a little bit because let me ask you this,
like you like you said, I'm trying to give ct
what he wants, right, so.
Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
Usest thing to do in this.
Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
But then you say justice for Leka? Why did you
say justice for Lea?
Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Because I'm playing the game. Because I'm playing the game, Scott.
Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
Yeah, okay, all right, that he's the answer. All right?
Look now I said, whoever asked our favorite questions? Getting
a sticker pack? So we got to bang on somebody
these questions. All right, here's a good one on the
topic here, Ben says, Eric, what made you decide to
work with Olivia and her crew over Bananas and some
of the other VET guys that you've known longer? So
you touched on a little bit. But walk us down
that path. Where does this alliance start with?
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
I'm not it's not like that I'm not working with
with Bananas.
Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
Well, clearly you guys were not on the same.
Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
We I just I was, you know, privy to this
alliance that he was, you know, a part of upstairs.
I didn't have conversations with him about you know, hey,
are we going to be voting the same way? We
should be voting the same way we should be working together?
I didn't have those conversations. Now, you got to remember,
I've won two Challenge Championships with this guy. I've made
(01:10:39):
it very deep into uh you know, made a lot
of moves with him. But that's because our communication was
stable and we talked and we made moves together. We
didn't have those conversations, you know. And and you know,
as Challenge Mania goes on, so do my connections with
say the Olivia's who start showing up, you know, to
(01:11:01):
a lot of these things.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
So what about season forty, Yeah, I feel like it
was some of it to make good for for season
forty when when they were you know, when you were
out there alone on Era one Island with just you
and Rachel and the only people who would work with
you were those Era four cats. And that have something
to do with the two.
Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
Yeah, I mean absolutely, Like I like, I've got a
lot of love for for THEO and and Olivia and
you know, you know, me and THEO struck a deal,
uh you know there, you know, before I got eliminated
and he stuck to his word. And this is a
good dude, you know, So so like you know, like
(01:11:37):
you know, my my relationship runs deep with with Johnny.
But like I start, you know, you got relationship with
a Nissa, relationship with ct A relationship with Olivia like
you know, THEO, like you know, Derek Chavez, like you know,
my relationships as I mean d talked about, I don't.
I didn't know exactly where I fit in with everybody,
(01:12:00):
but my connections were spread out, and you know, Johnny
wasn't in the game, you know, john john Like I'm
also not gonna be anyone's puppet, you know, like either
we're moving together or I'm moving on my own. And
it felt like I was moving on my own. And
it wasn't just like do I vote with with with
uh with Olivia, But there's very much like where's c going,
(01:12:21):
Where's Johnny going? Where's Olivia? You know? And and this
whole you know, downstairs alliance that I'm seeing every single day.
And I see that there's a you know, I'm living
with this, you know, Derek Kara, THEO Olivia alliance. I'm
I'm living with that. John A's here now she took
a Car's place like perfectly, you know, not not perfectly,
(01:12:43):
but you know, it's like Johnny just fits into that alliance.
But then where I fit in, you know what I mean,
Like there's three or four people here, then there's me, right,
there's you know, maybe I'm you know, I'm a little
closer with CT, so I gotta, you know, try to
you know, see where me and our heads are at,
you know, and we were we were moving a little
(01:13:03):
bit together until he started moving in a different direction.
So you know, I really feel like, you know, I'm
alone in this. But at the same time, like I
do feel a little bit more connected with with the
people downstairs than I do with the people upstairs because basically,
you know, I haven't done seasons with nine and I
haven't done seasons with Ashley. You know, I've known Leroy
for a long time, but I haven't done you know,
(01:13:26):
you know, many seasons with him, you know. So it's
like you understand, I'm I'm in a really difficult spot,
uh with with with who you know, It's going to
get more and more difficult as time goes on, because
I'm gonna have to choose a side, and in this moment,
I had to choose against my own side last season
or last last last vote, I had to choose against Izzy, right,
(01:13:47):
I'm with Sydney. What you know what she thought was best. Uh,
you know, I I you know this this this one
I'm going against Derek, you know, which you know I've
been working with, right, But that's just how you know,
I'm gonna have to move based on, you know, my relationships.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
It's not just bananas.
Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
It's like there's so many, uh you know, people that
that I'm connected to, and I really don't want to
hurt anybody. But at the same time, like I feel,
you know, if I've if I've given or if i've
i've i've I've I've given some to some people. I
feel like I need to spread out, spread out the
level where I can.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Let's rapid fire these Mariah says Derek. Derek, did you
know you were a possible vet to go? In? The
edit made you seem like you did not. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
Yeah, So what what you guys didn't see is is
more of like my my speeches that aren't being shown.
Like once I said the speech during this during this deliberation,
everybody followed suit and voted for for Derek Chavez, right,
and then uh, you know in the moment where Jeremy
(01:14:54):
is talking about him me being on a ship list
me and Derrek Chavias being on a ship list is
At at some point the vote was between Jeremy or
Ben to go into elimination, and it went down to
a coin flip and I was literally the final vote
to put uh to put Jeremy in, and they didn't
show up. My speech. My speech was like this, something
(01:15:16):
along the lines of, look, I've never seen you know, like,
I've got to give Derrek Chavez a lot of credit
for having the balls to go to to to go
after the biggest threat in this house. We all know
that Jerremy is the biggest threat in this house, and
the fact that Derek Chavez has enough balls to say
(01:15:36):
his name want to go against him. I'm gonna give
him that, you know. And I'm gonna give him that
despite the fact that like me and hear me are
trying to work together. I told him I would try,
and in this moment I kind of like turned on him,
you know, because because I was like, let's try, he
came to me. Jerimy came to me early on in
the season. He goes, hey, you know, I don't know
a lot of these vets, but like I like the
(01:15:57):
way you move, I like the way you play the game.
Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
I'd like to try to work with you, and I go, okay,
let's try right.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
And in that moment, I had to like I couldn't
try right because I had too many people downstairs that
I was trying to make happy. I was trying to
make Derek Chaviz happy. I was trying to you know,
I was trying to look out for him and this
alliance and give him what he wanted, right, And in
that moment, I since the coin flip went the other day, uh,
you know, I kind of I kind of got hit.
I took a shot as far as like I made
(01:16:24):
the wrong move, right, the person that I voted in
is still here unscathed. Right, So this is where this
is where where Jeremy is like, they're both on my
shit list, right, except you know, because I could have
saved him. I could have been the final vote that
just puts Ben in and said I was the final
vote that put Jearymy in and made it go to
(01:16:45):
a coin flip, and h you know, and but the
difference between me and Derek Chavez is Chavez rallied the
troops to get Jerymy to get put into elimination. I
was just a guy trying to work with Jeremy who couldn't,
you know, help him out because I decided to help
(01:17:07):
Derek Chavis out instead of you, because I've known Derek
Chavis for a little longer. And at this point, I
move this alliance. So that's where that's where my name
gets brought up.
Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
And but look.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Here, I appreciate my name being brought up because my
family got a little cameo, got a little Derek flashback action.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
Yeah, I agree. Hey, you know what, that's a good
silver lining. You know that they they got to show
some of your finest moments.
Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
Yeah, I mean I've been had the I have Obviously
I haven't had the best the best season, but we
finished in second place on this one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
H Adrian can swim the lights out.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Uh. And you know there's only a few teams that
got two blocks, obviously, Jeromine Sidney you got four blocks,
Powerhouse Team Powerhouse, you know, rookie couple. You know, give
them all the accolades. But you know, for me, you know,
it was nice to see that hear me thinks I'm
a threat, you know, because you know, I don't feel
like a threat. I feel like I'm I'm I'm a
contestant from from Wipeout at this time kind of feel
(01:18:07):
like a layup and you know it's that, you know,
so to see kind of it, you know some some
some highlights.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
Was was nice.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
You know, this guy had some of our favorite questions recently.
Well see if he has our favorite question this time,
can score a sticker pack? Mac Jay says, why don't
any of the rookie guys want to be partnered with Olivia?
She's in the best shape of her career, has to
be the high performer in all types of challenges this season.
Is it her social game?
Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
Because most of those rookie guys live upstairs in the
upstairs alliance, and the upstairs alliance is chirping about how
much they don't like Olivia. Olivia doesn't come up and
talk to us. She thinks she's better than everyone whatever, whatever,
whatever they're saying, they're hearing it day in and day out,
like the brunt, the brunt of the joke upstairs is
(01:18:53):
this UK alliance being led by Olivia who we don't
like because she's leading the charge over there. She created
this alliance and now we're shooting them all down until
they're all out you know and so and so, you know,
you got Will, you got Jearim, you got Cedric kind
of saying, we don't want to be partner up with Olivia.
But let's be honest here, let's be fair. Whoever get
(01:19:14):
stuck with Olivia is going to be doing just fine.
The problem is when it comes to voting, you might
be in trouble because everybody, all these people upstairs are
coming after her and her alliance. So they may, you know,
right now, they're chipping away before they can kind of
you know, want to get to her, but and they
(01:19:34):
don't want to be a part of that. They don't
want to be a part of the alliance that they're
not a part of.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
This is not going to happen because, as we know,
you haven't performed the best this season. But Jackie says,
let's say, Derek, you have the most points and you
got to choose your partner first. Who are you choosing from?
Who is left in this game? And let's assume everybody's
on the table, right, new threat rookie veteran whatever I mean?
Because I don't know how that works. I mean, you
can't tell us we're not allowed to theorize you know.
(01:20:00):
I mean, we're not allowed to do anything other theorized.
So give me, give me a new threat pick, and
then give me an anybody pick.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
I mean, obviously, it's it's it's it's it's Sydney. It's Sydney.
Sidney is the best, the best is showing to be
argue with the best female player here on on the
rookie side, and Olivia is probably is playing the best game,
uh well, or Mikayla right or Mikayla right.
Speaker 1 (01:20:26):
Well, between them, who would you rather have? I mean,
I'm sure Mikayla or.
Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
I mean, look, I haven't worked with with either one
of them, but I think that Olivia probably has. Olivia
got up the mountain faster than than Mikaylah. The swim
is obviously, you know, something I would take into consideration,
which at the time I didn't know she was throwing
the challenge.
Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
I thought she might be throwing the challenge.
Speaker 2 (01:20:49):
It was one of those moments where it's like, all right,
I think she's throwing the challenge, or she's a really
slow swimmer. This swim looks really bad, So that's something
I would take into consideration. But definitely, like you know,
Sidney Adrian's doing really well, and at this point, I
(01:21:12):
think that me and Adrian have some momentum finishing in
second place. So I definitely think that Adrian was looking
to be partnered with Derek Chavez until this happened. So
you know things are gonna get interesting, especially next episode.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
It's up Bad Bobby.
Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
Last question for Bag Bobby, although I will update you.
I texted Naya, I said, any interest on coming on
the podcast sometime soon? And she said, I retired from
the show, babe, So I said, even ours question mark
sad face.
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
So okay, you.
Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Guys are wondering. Guys, it's hard out there in these
booking guest streets. That's why Derek's our guests this week.
Last questions from Bad Bobby, and then we're gonna get
run and here Bad Bobby says. First off, I had
a blast backstage in Chicago that was amazing. Bad Bobby
won backstage passes, I believe from winning Fantasy Football Cup
years ago. But there's other ways you get backstage passes.
Occasionally we do put them on sale. Occasionally they are
(01:22:05):
the prize of one of our draft contests that are
always for charity. Over at challengemaniacs dot com and I
will be doing another. Can potentially score a backstage pass
by donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's
Research via my shot at jeger dot com link that
links to the Over the Edge Celebrity Weekend donor page.
We've already raised over seven thousand dollars for Michael J.
(01:22:27):
Fox Parkinson's Research Foundation. That'll be going up soon. It'll
be anyone who donates between now and maybe November first,
and we will draw a winner, and whoever donates the
most also automatically scores backstage passes as well, so I
know a couple of people got those, and we did
those earlier this year. But Bob Bobby had a good
time backstage, although I will say thank you for being
what I would say discreet Bad Bobby, because Bad Bobby
(01:22:48):
was backstage during a maybe quite a few interesting conversations
after that Chicago show, as you might have guessed based
on everything that happened with with Devin over there, as
people are calling it the trial of the Chago Devin.
I don't know if you know that, d but Bad
Bobby and John Headles and I believe Carlos backstage uh,
hanging out with us due to a big fantasy football win. Secondly,
(01:23:10):
bad Bobby says, are we guessing that after the mini
final and final pairs are selected that we will get
pair versus pair eliminations going forward? Derek, Obviously you can't
confirm or deny. So I want to ask what's going
through your head in the game, and then I'll give
you my thoughts just as a viewer. But in the game,
what do you guys think in the rest of the
season has in storied?
Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Well, well, well, yeah, at first and foremost, wait till
you see this mini final. I mean it is going
to have people contemplating life. I mean it had me
contemplating life. Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
And then and then.
Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
As far as like choosing your partners, Yeah, we're thinking
that we're gonna be permanent partners and we're thinking that
they'll go to doubles. Now is that is that the
you know, the will that be the case? You're gonna
have to wait to find out. But in this moment,
that's that's what we're thinking.
Speaker 1 (01:23:59):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
That's because you know, having all the single eliminations prior,
like we just do the math and we're like, oh man,
there's a last way, there's no way we can continue
to do the show. You know, we know when there's
an end date. So like you know, unless they're doing purges,
which is also possible, then you know they can't you know,
(01:24:20):
continue to to stay at doing singles. So that's it. Yeah,
thank you, bet, I thank you everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
And I'm gonna go out on a limb and I'm
gonna say I'm gonna give look because it's a topic
on everybody's mind. I'm going to give best question honors
to Tara here. She wrote in a few but the
one she asked about Derek Chavez and to see you
next Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
Fan, and and making a very pc there for us.
Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
Yes, thank you for doing that, making it easy for
me not to say the word Derek elected to say it.
That's fine, guys, if you want to watch this in
all of our podcast Challenge dot com, Tara sent us
your address.
Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
What's up, d I gotta give I got to give
Derek Chavs a shout out though, yes, I mean there
are not that many people that like I think this
is CT's first pull wrestle ever and.
Speaker 1 (01:25:10):
Unless you count, unless you count war the world's triple
pole wrestle against JP and Kyle.
Speaker 2 (01:25:16):
True, true that he lost to Kyle. Actually, so it is,
it is it's a second. Okay, it's a second that
does I.
Speaker 1 (01:25:23):
Don't know that that does count.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
But but technicality, I think I think the way they
put you know, Derek is pole wrestling king into the
you know, into into the Challenge universe. I haven't I
haven't done you know, all of these pull wrestles, but
I've done a variation of the many variations of of
the poll wrestle object wrestle. So yeah, that that that
(01:25:45):
would probably count. But but you got to give Derek
Chavas credit for you know, like he's the only person
that's been inside the ring with a.
Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
Real bear, first person to ever do a hall brawl
and a pull wrestle this same season.
Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
Fun fact, Pretty dope, Pretty dope Derek Chavez.
Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
Also this, if you've ever shaken CT's hands, they are
not hands, they are legit bear pause. These are the
biggest things that I've ever seen. And when I seen
him put his his hands on the pole, like there's
not much space in there, Like I feel like that
poll was smaller than than than than than usual.
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
I mean, there's not much room on that pole with
those with those paws.
Speaker 2 (01:26:25):
Uh, so you gotta give a Uh. It's like it's
like going into the ring with with Mike Tyson one time. Right,
That's like, that's what Derek Chavis that he went in
the ring with Mike Tyson a ka CT from the
challenge one time and you got what you got?
Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Yeah? Well, uh, yes, kudos to Derek Chavez. If you're
gonna go out, I guess going out to one of
the goats, uh on your back in a poll wrestle
not the worst way. Uh. We'll see you guys next
week for episode nine.
Speaker 3 (01:26:53):
MVPLVVV right right right, m v PLP giving.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
I'm giving MVP to to CT. You know, justice for CT.
I know this is justice for lack of episode. Listen.
I do think that the.
Speaker 3 (01:27:03):
Guy is trying to get up the damn thing.
Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
He had his back up against the wall kind of
in the water, like he got the challenge thrown on him,
and then you know he you know, he prevailed, he prevad.
I mean he got one.
Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
He said.
Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
Listen, any other challenge like Chaves has a chance, not
this one.
Speaker 1 (01:27:21):
Let me say this before you give your LVP. This
might surprise people. And I'm not just giving a tour
to make up for Derek's sign, but I'm given MVP
to Mikayla because all of it's been made about justice
for Leca, justice for Leka. But I think something I
believe if you asked her this, and hopefully one day
we'll be able to sadly not right now. You know
(01:27:42):
it's all about getting CT in there, but really she
also knocks off by proxy here by getting rid of Chavez,
a key member of the Olivia Alliance. And I believe
that as much as it's all about Leca, justice for Leka,
and CT, this CT that her main priority I think
has been, always been and will be Olivia and chipping
away at that alliance. So she manages to put the
(01:28:04):
entire house, but obviously her in a win win scenario.
Obviously CET picks up the win. He lives to see
another day, but that Olivia Alliance loses a key member.
So I'm gonna give for and maybe the first time
someone's ever Michaela, someone's ever thrown a challenge and gotten
a m v P here, but I'm giving it to Michayla. Hey, guys,
feel free to d m or that and let her
(01:28:25):
know that too. All you guys who sent her the
C word thing, you can let her know she was
our m v P this week. A LVP.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
Who you giv Are we gonna put ourselves in hot
water here? Who's Who's Who's the l v P here? Man?
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
I mean Leroy? Leroy wasn't too good.
Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
Yeah, le Roy really almost lost here with the other
team that got zero was Gabe in America and but
Leroy and and uh, yeah, I'm gonna second to last.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
I'm gonna give yeah, yeah you have le Roy.
Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
I think this is back to back? Is it back
to back? You know, just to you know, almost last.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
I'm gonna give my LVP to America because this has
been one of the worst weeks in the history of America.
And so I'm giving my LVP to America.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Yeah. I don't think America even made an attempt to
get up that wall.
Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
Yeah, And it's just honestly just a tough week for America,
and so America you are getting my LVP.
Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
That's too LVPS for America.
Speaker 1 (01:29:26):
