How to study the Bible: IX Cutting off of sin: Another antedote of cutting off sin is in we associate ourselves with, who we consider our friends. The Lord knows we live in a world that is sinful, but as christians we need to fight the urge of sin. Yes, God knows it is in our nature to sin, but it is up to us to be dedicated to Christ enough to not put ourselves in the path of Satan, and thats in who we decided to be yoked together with; "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? (II Corinthians 6:14-18).

What the stiff relation.

Speaker 8 (19:52):
One of the stipulation that God asked Abraham to do
was to cut off the foreskin, and a lot of
that the pass is cutting off. Be a token, be
a token of a covenant between him and God and
him between them. And of course today what is our

(20:12):
token and the other day we call it token of blood,
token of blove. Jesus says, if you love me, keep
my commandments. So token today is cutting off of sin.
The token today is being like Christ. The token today
is living the best life we can in Jesus Christ

(20:33):
this morning. But you may ask, brother, our style do
we do that in the generation in which we live today.

Speaker 7 (20:41):
It's hard.

Speaker 8 (20:42):
It's hard, but my friend, we hope and pray that
you keep your ends on long enough to hear the
answer that we're hitting in a different direction, another way
of fighting sin, another way that we can keep our
lives heading to him.

We pray for our program near this morning, chatting for
the word Fall.

Speaker 8 (34:47):
We pray that you will keep help us keep this
shine program on the airways. Father, help us continue chanting
and talking and teaching your word.

Speaker 7 (35:01):
Before we pray for all this and this morning how
to study the Bible. We're talking about cutting off sin.

Speaker 8 (35:07):
Father, help us to talk about the antidotes and the
ways that we can cut off sin and love you
as to make Heaven our home. Paul, we pray for
those that are struggling to maintain their marriage, struggling and attain.

Speaker 11 (35:23):
The Christian home.

Speaker 7 (35:24):
For we pray for all of our young.

Speaker 8 (35:26):
People that are struggling with negative peer pressure. For we
pray for those that are trying to reach for higher education.

Speaker 7 (35:33):
For we pray that they succeed. For we pray for
those that are behind prison bars.

Speaker 8 (35:38):
For we afray that to give them time to think
about what they've done and be changed and hopefully to
be added to the body of Christ.

Speaker 7 (35:47):
For we pray for those of preaching teaching your word worldwide.
For all we pray they continue on teaching your word.

Speaker 11 (35:55):
That they do not then to.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
The false words, to false teaching, that keep on teaching
the truth of your word.

Speaker 8 (36:08):
And Father has always Father, we pray, we pray Father,
that you will keep us encouraged and never discoursed in Jesus,
In Jesus blessed name, do we pray.

Speaker 7 (36:24):
Amen and amen.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 13 (37:05):
S s.

Speaker 11 (38:11):
Amen and amen.

Speaker 8 (38:14):
And a man brother, oscal brother, thank you for reading
a scripture text along with us and praying alone with us.

Speaker 11 (38:21):
And as always, we hope that we prayed for something
that is on your mind's mind.

Speaker 7 (38:31):
Aman, and a man.

Speaker 11 (38:45):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, my friend.

Speaker 8 (38:47):
When you hear that bell, it is time for our chat,
So come on in come on in so that we
can chat about the Word of God together. That's what
we chat about a year on chatty from the Word,
the word being Christ and come on.

Speaker 11 (39:02):
Into the class or that we can Hey, let's chat
up the Word of Christ this morning.

Speaker 8 (39:08):
Let's talk about Christ, and let's see his will for
us today to make it to heaven.

Speaker 11 (39:14):
Because what we attempt to.

Speaker 8 (39:16):
Do here is to study God's word to see what
its contained, so that we may be help in making
Heaven our home.

Speaker 11 (39:27):
And sometimes we just need help, don't we.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
I'm gonna be honest with you.

Speaker 11 (39:32):
Sometimes we all need help. I need help, You need help.
We all need help.

Speaker 8 (39:38):
We all need some guidance at times in which direction
that the Lord wants us to walk in. You know,
sometimes it's not easy, especially were living in the world
that is, that is going by the cadence of Seatan.

Speaker 11 (40:03):
It does not become easy, especially on the forefront. We
are soldiers of the Lord that do not become easy.

Speaker 8 (40:14):
And I was thinking about this earlier, you know, and
I'm glad and I put it in my prayer. I
am so glad that the Good Lord pleased me in
this ministry where I am chatting with you about his word, and.

Speaker 11 (40:34):
I am nothing but an evengelis I am not.

Speaker 8 (40:37):
I don't call myself a pastor, although pastoring is part
of being the eventualist.

Speaker 11 (40:43):
I don't call my else of an elder.

Speaker 7 (40:46):
Or a presbytery anything else.

Speaker 8 (40:48):
I don't hold that office, although meaning nobody of Christ do,
but I thought it.

Speaker 11 (40:53):
I'm not.

Speaker 8 (40:55):
I'm just an eventulist that tried my best to come
on Mondays through Fridays to teach and to direct others
to Jesus Christ, which is the evangelist's job.

Speaker 7 (41:12):
And many of us I believe we have a soul.

Speaker 8 (41:17):
Rome about what evangelist does. Since our job as an eventelists.

Speaker 19 (41:26):
To set up churches, to begin churches, to teach his
word and to keep others hungry from the word and
to present others the word, hoping that they come into the.

Speaker 11 (41:39):
Fall of Jesus Christ.

Speaker 8 (41:42):
And with the Internet networks and everything else, it makes
our job as eventulists a lot more easier to really
try to reach souls for help for God, yes it does,
and what program likes well able to go all the
way around the world telling others about the beauty of

(42:05):
Jesus Christ and him crucified.

Speaker 11 (42:09):
And I am so glad. I'm nothing but evangelist. I'm
not rich.

Speaker 7 (42:15):
I'm more im poor than i am rich. I feel
like that. But my riches don't come from.

Speaker 11 (42:21):
Money, and I'm here to tell you that money.

Speaker 9 (42:25):
Is not my objective.

Speaker 8 (42:28):
But my objective is this morning is telling you how
beautiful Jesus Christ is. Now, if you want to help
me to survive, oh that's a whole different thing.

Speaker 7 (42:42):
Right now, I'm in front, keep a roof over my head.

Speaker 8 (42:46):
But basically, when brother Oscar said, my job as eventuous
is to try my best to tell you about Jesus Christ.
And to be ye tell you about Jesus Christ. I
must know Jesus Christ on a personal base myself.

Speaker 7 (43:09):
See, I gotta be on more than's first hand name
of the Lord. I gotta know the.

Speaker 8 (43:14):
Lord personally, effectually, intimately, and we all need to know
him on them basis.

Speaker 11 (43:23):
Don't when we.

Speaker 8 (43:24):
All in so many ways, we all are eventualists, tell
others about Jesus Christ. And when souls said to even
in our lifestyle and things we listen to on the radio,
the words we say, we should be able to convert
to help others to see Jesus, to be able to

(43:44):
show others to be converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is a beautiful thing and not an ugly thing,
and not something that makes you feel sad. But Christ
is someone that you could be happy with. Christ is
someone that you can have joy with. Christ is someone

(44:05):
that you can glorify in and be like.

Speaker 7 (44:09):
And that's our job, as you be valuous, to.

Speaker 8 (44:14):
Show others the goodness of Christ and how beautiful it
is to be a Christian. This morning, If I was
thinking about that this morning, yes I was.

Speaker 7 (44:23):
I was thinking to how God blessed me be evangelist.

Speaker 8 (44:26):
I might not have no money buying blessed to be
able to know Jesus Christ and to be able to
share the message of hope, salvation and love with you.
Our hope is in Jesus Christ, and our hope being
in Jesus Christ one day to go home with Him
and to be in Heaven through all eternity.

Speaker 7 (44:49):
But most of our hope.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
Where is your hope?

Speaker 18 (44:51):
Is going?

Speaker 7 (44:52):
Is your hoping? Your money? Is your hope of finding
that perfect job?

Speaker 8 (44:58):
Is your hope of finding a beautiful home, a beautiful wife,
a beautiful husband?

Speaker 11 (45:03):
What is your hope this morning? What is your hope?

Speaker 8 (45:08):
And I hope afraid that your hope is in Jesus
Christ this morning, so that you may be able one
day to make Heaven your home. All right, you know
we rather as going you to do correct, Go ahead on,
have your favorite beverage coffee, tea.

Speaker 7 (45:24):
Milk, juice, hot chocolate, cold chocolate. Not the boy stuff
we get thrown. I chucked that out the window. You
don't need that, And get relaxed.

Speaker 8 (45:35):
If you're more relaxing sitting on your reclin recline on
our you more relaxed sitting at your dining that table,
go ahead on.

Speaker 11 (45:44):
And to have a seat.

Speaker 8 (45:46):
But what we request of you this morning is to
have a copy of God's word so that you may
see where we.

Speaker 7 (45:56):
Are coming from this morning.

Speaker 8 (45:58):
And that's how I continue to sing saying anytime, anytime,
anytime that you hear brother Oscar saying something that's not
according to God's word, you are able at any time
to write me to let me know, Brother Oscar.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
That's not right what you said.

Speaker 11 (46:21):
And and but and but.

Speaker 8 (46:27):
But if you want to debate me on anything I
have said, have it a copy of it coming from
God's word.

Speaker 7 (46:39):
Not anything you heard of the preacher say behind the pulpit.

Speaker 8 (46:44):
A subsequent teacher said, Mama, Daddy, grandpa or grandmother have
said over time that had become a tradition. But what
is contained in the word of God? And if you
can prove it anytime I've said something that our court
of God's where what I've said is not contained in

(47:07):
the God's work, I'll give you apology.

Speaker 7 (47:10):
I would straighten it out as soon as I can.
And that's all I've had, That's all I've asked.

Speaker 8 (47:17):
This morning, we're talking about go of course, we're talking
about how to starn the Bible, and we have recognized by.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
That subject, right, that is very fake.

Speaker 8 (47:34):
And if we're going to study it exhaustively, we can
get into so many topics, so many things that can
really aid us and help us on our own journey.

(47:56):
Ain't met brand Oscar and we've been talking about how
God changed a name and how God told Abel to
be circumcised, cutting off the foreskin allowed that being token
of be covenant to that is between them, and then.

Speaker 7 (48:15):
We talked about the token of blood today.

Speaker 8 (48:19):
How can we today show Christ that we love him,
Christ himself saying, if you love me keep my commandments,
Keep my commandments. Now, how can we today show that?
And we've been talking about that we need to cut
off sin. How can we do that through our fellowship

(48:39):
with one another in the body of Christ, the.

Speaker 7 (48:42):
Help of each other.

Speaker 8 (48:44):
How we should help each other to be strong. We
should not look down upon each other, but we should
be able to come.

Speaker 7 (48:53):
To each other's aid when it's need. When we need help.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
We all want to need help. On this Christian carney.

Speaker 7 (49:01):
None of us are perfect, and many of us have
faulted by the wayside.

Speaker 8 (49:07):
And the reason why many of them faulted by the
wayside because we're not putting ourselves in a positive.

Speaker 7 (49:17):
Way.

Speaker 8 (49:20):
Some of us put ourselves, if I can use this
terminology in Satan's pathway, and that's what we want to
talk about this morning. That's one of the antidotes, if
I can use that term of how we can cut

(49:41):
off sin is not ourselves put ourselves in the pathway
of Satan. And many of us do that, and some
sometimes things like that cannot be help.

Speaker 7 (50:01):
But what we can do is to be able to
be strong enough.

Speaker 8 (50:07):
Well, we can't fight all the walls of Satan. But
as for when you first come into the church and
be a young Christian that don't get easy, doesn't and
become very difficult to fight off the walls of Satan.

(50:30):
Because many of us will become or become a Christian.

Speaker 11 (50:35):
We're coming in with baggage.

Speaker 8 (50:37):
We're coming in being the old man, and we need
to allow a new man to shine through. We come
in with many habits that we have, but come in
doing things that we've been doing for years.

Speaker 7 (50:52):
It's hard to cut it off.

Speaker 8 (50:55):
Sure Christ knows that God knows that that's why die
for us for the church after our Christ and we
read the other day, have different officers in the church
to help us, to aid us, to put us in
the perfect way, and to keep us in the perfect way,

(51:21):
because none.

Speaker 7 (51:22):
Of us are not none of us are perfect. We're
all faulted by the wayside begaudse who we may be.

Speaker 8 (51:27):
And that's the reason why we need fellowship with each
other to help one another. But as I stayed yesterday,
many churches are closing this doors because we cease to
be that guiding light that help for others, others to
find Christ and for others to keep.

Speaker 11 (51:48):
Them in Christ. We have faulted church leaders.

Speaker 7 (51:54):
We have faltered by the wayside.

Speaker 8 (51:56):
Being the church and being there for one another. Now
we need to get better, Yes we do. We need
to get better doing just that. And what we need
to do is stop.

Speaker 7 (52:13):
Bickering and stop arguing and stop fighting. Not fighting fistfully,
but with our words. We may talk negative about certain people.

Speaker 11 (52:24):
We need to do that.

Speaker 8 (52:26):
And if a brother, sisters says our preaching brothers, if
we have any faults, come to that brother. Talk to him,
See what the problem is, See if you can aid him,
See if you can counsel him in a better way
of what problems he may be facing.

Speaker 7 (52:45):
Because we all are in this world.

Speaker 8 (52:48):
We all live in this world, and at times many
of us are touched by the negativity of this world.
But the question it is, how can we ask Christians,
if I may be able to use.

Speaker 7 (53:07):
This term come back sin?

Speaker 11 (53:12):
And on the way Paul.

Speaker 8 (53:15):
Tells us and Second Christians turned with me quickly, and
I believe or yesterday.

Speaker 7 (53:20):
This is where we left off at Second Corinthians chapter
six and verse is fourteen.

Speaker 8 (53:34):
Second Christians chapter sixth the verse is fourteen through eighteen.

Speaker 7 (53:41):
Now what I want to do, excuse me, what I
want to do is to read quickly through this so
that we may get an understanding of what Paul is
talking about.

Speaker 11 (53:53):
Here.

Speaker 8 (53:54):
We started this or yesterday almost at the close of
the of the tet yesterday.

Speaker 7 (54:01):
But Paul says here now.

Speaker 8 (54:03):
We're going to be read some of the ser we
read yesterday and Second Christians six.

Speaker 7 (54:10):
Verse fourteen eighteen.

Speaker 8 (54:12):
Paul said, be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For
what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?

Speaker 7 (54:25):
And what commune had life with darkness?

Speaker 8 (54:29):
And what cord hath Christ with Belaoh what hath he
that believed with an infidel? And what agreement had the
temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple
of a living God. As God has said, I will

(54:52):
dwelt in them and walk in them, and I would
be their God, and they shall be my people.

Speaker 7 (55:02):
Wherefore, come out from among.

Speaker 8 (55:06):
Them and be ye separate, said the Lord, and touch
not the unclean thing, and I will receive you, and
we'll be a father unto you, and ye shall be
my sons and doctors.

Speaker 7 (55:28):
And the Lord, said the Lord Almighty.

Speaker 8 (55:35):
Many of us reason why we find it so difficult
of cutting sin out of our lives are living in
sin is because we do not recognize that we cannot.

Speaker 20 (56:01):
Be what we once be, even when it comes to
hanging with an old charm, even if it's come and hanging.

Speaker 8 (56:13):
With someone we've been knowing for years, especially if they
have caught themselves often too something that is negative and
that's gonna lead you down the wrong pathway. And if
you're not strong enough to tell them about.

Speaker 7 (56:33):
Jesus Christ, hey, you're gonna hurt yourself in the long run.
You are going to hurt yourself in the long run.

Speaker 8 (56:43):
And the best thing we can do as Christians is
to not be on the same level that they are
on not saying that you're better.

Speaker 7 (56:56):
And some people don't understand that, especially we need to
cut them off. They might say, all you think you're
too good to hang with us anymore. That is not
the sequence of things.

Speaker 8 (57:09):
Reason why you don't hang out with them anymore, because
you'll strive me to live as Christ want you to live.

Speaker 7 (57:17):
And if they're doing things that.

Speaker 8 (57:19):
Call to pull you back into that world of sin,
you need to fight it. You need to put yourself
on a better pain. You need to get yourself where
you're under people that can help you live for Christ,
not those that are gonna keep on bringing Satan in
your world. Now, if you can fight and still hang

(57:43):
with Christ and tell them about Jesus Christ and be
among them when they're doing their.

Speaker 7 (57:48):
Devilish Oh, my friend, bless you. But it's hard. It's hard, brother,
I'll have to learn that lesson the hard wad. I remember.

Speaker 8 (57:58):
Now, I'm gonna tell you a story about my maya,
about my my my Christian life.

Speaker 7 (58:05):
When my first became a Christian shore.

Speaker 8 (58:07):
My family is all. My family wasn't not in the church.
I still have friends I consider friends. I was outside
of the church. I had friends that I desired to
be saved. But I remember when I was in I
was at Southwestern Christian College the summertime, and I'm one
of my friends that I've been friends.

Speaker 4 (58:29):
With for over the years and no Christ.

Speaker 8 (58:33):
So I said, let me gonna visit my old buddies,
more chumps that I used to chum up with.

Speaker 4 (58:39):
And I went to visit them, and lo and behold,
and I talk, be honest with you.

Speaker 7 (58:46):
But they won't be the gospel.

Speaker 8 (58:48):
I could talk with them about the gospel a little behold.
Once I got through the door, they would couldn't help it.
Every step you take, you smell weed, you smell deal.
They were getting high, they were doing cocaine and everything else.
And here I called myself, coming in telling them about

(59:11):
Jesus Christ. And I said to myself, they don't want
to hear the Christ.

Speaker 7 (59:17):
I moved.

Speaker 8 (59:18):
I'm just wasting my time trying when they are doing
whatever they wanted to do, and by me associate with
them in this way, they might pull me into that world.

Speaker 11 (59:31):
That they all liveing in.

Speaker 7 (59:33):
So what I did, I just say bye.

Speaker 11 (59:37):
I said bye.

Speaker 7 (59:39):
Our friendship had to change change because I have a
friend with Jesus Christ and not with them. And by
me being friends with Jesus Christ, he then my Lord,
he then my Savior.

Speaker 8 (59:55):
I knew right that, And there I had to cut
them off being my friends, especially when I could not
conngense them. I understand brondoscar Is saying about Jesus Christ.
But later on many of them obey the gospel. Many

(01:00:20):
of them seen my tenacity, seen how I was hanging
in there, seen though they were laughing at me, call
me stupid, call me a fanatic, and everything else.

Speaker 11 (01:00:33):
But what I did, I hung in there.

Speaker 7 (01:00:36):
I did not change and many of them themselves.

Speaker 8 (01:00:40):
They are in the churchy day strong, some of my
elder some of my deacons, some of them are telling
Jesus others about Jesus Christ praised the Lord. But my friend,
well brother Oscar is trying to say, it is best
to always do was right in the face of those

(01:01:01):
that want to do us wrong and to pull you down.
Don't worry about what they may feel. If you got
if you much, cut them off, cut them off, cut
them off. And if they come back and ask you
how you became Christian, while you so changed, while you're different,
while you cut them off, you have a.

Speaker 7 (01:01:20):
Chance to.

Speaker 8 (01:01:23):
Witness to them, to tell them about Jesus Christ and
what Christ have done in your life.

Speaker 7 (01:01:29):
But they got to see it now.

Speaker 8 (01:01:32):
They won't see it if you're hanging with them and
doing the same thing they're doing, smoking that stuff earth, smoking,
snorting that stuff, eath snowing, saying the same words to
say they're saying gospeling the way the gospelinging.

Speaker 7 (01:01:48):
Gospel and silp is wrong.

Speaker 8 (01:01:50):
What we need to do is set the right pattern
for those in our lives to see Christ in us.
And one way all said that we need not to
be unequal yoke with them, doing the same thing with them,
teamed up with them, and that was being equal to
unequal yoke means being team up with them, but be

(01:02:11):
separate from them.

Speaker 7 (01:02:14):
We're not working with them. We're on a different plane
from them. We headed to heaven while some of them
don't even much.

Speaker 8 (01:02:23):
Consider heaven being a real place when they don't really care.

Speaker 7 (01:02:30):
And that's one thing we must bear in mind. We're
not cutting off friends, but we're cutting off Satan, especially
when they allows Satan to rule their life. Amen, Amen

(01:02:50):
and amen, that's all I have for you today.

Speaker 8 (01:02:53):
I didn't think how I was gonna hit this chat today,
but I'm glad that that they's getting good.

Speaker 7 (01:02:59):
It's getting good, and we hope that you stick with us.
Come back tomorrow being Friday, come back tomorrow. We want
to be in second Christians sixth. How to cut off Sin?

Speaker 8 (01:03:12):
How can we hey continue of the Lord lou cut
off Sin and be out talking to him?

Speaker 11 (01:03:19):
Today?

Speaker 7 (01:03:20):
