How to study the Bible: XI. The Prayer of Abraham: for Sodom and Gomorrah. The problems of Sodom and Gomorrah got the Lord's attention; "And the Lord said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous." The Lord knew he had to deal with them. Abraham began to pray, to beg, to supplicate, and to intercede for the righteous that could be found there. (Genesis 18:23-33).

The body of Christ main't a lighthouse leading others.

Speaker 8 (34:12):
To Jesus Christ. Love the Church be light in a
dark place. And Father, we pray for all of our listeners.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
This morning. We pray Father, for all that thousand fears fall.

Speaker 8 (34:25):
We pray that you cast all that thousand fears in
the deepest part of the sea where they want resurface anymore.

Speaker 6 (34:36):
Father, Father, we prayed this morning, Yes we do.

Speaker 8 (34:39):
Father, fa We pray for our program here chatting from
the word. Father, help us keep the fine program on
the airways.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
Father, help us keep on teaching and preaching your word.

Speaker 8 (34:55):
And for we pray for our lessons morning, the prayer
of a for Sodom and tomorrow farther.

Speaker 6 (35:02):
Help us, and we may say something to help someone
with their prayer life.

Speaker 8 (35:08):
Partly help us and may say something to strengthen those
that striving to continue on living for you and Father,
we pray for those who are struggling in their narratives,
struggling to maintain the Christian home, suffering to maintain.

Speaker 6 (35:26):
A life gloring find you. Far. We pray for all
of our young people to striving to.

Speaker 8 (35:33):
Live for You.

Speaker 6 (35:34):
Far.

Speaker 8 (35:35):
We pray for them because we recognize it's so much
negative peer pressure that's going on today.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Far. We pray for those that they're inconcirated.

Speaker 8 (35:48):
Far, we pray that they think about what they've done
and change and hope for me become a member or
the end the family of God.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
The body of Christ, be attedude the body of Christ.

Speaker 8 (36:04):
Old Father, fray for every church and teaching and preaching
your word. This morning, Father, we pray they teach the
truth of your word, and if not fall we pray
that they go back and read the law, read your word,
see what it says, and go buy it.

Speaker 6 (36:24):
Oh Father, we pray this morning for.

Speaker 8 (36:27):
Those are teaching and teaching the truth of your word worldwide. Far,
we pray that you be with and help them to
get the nest the truth to His name as they
can and far. As always, Father, as always, we pray
that you will keep us encouraged and never discoursed in Jesus,

(36:52):
In Jesus, bless the name, do we pray a man
and a man, aidmen and aid man, Brother Oscar will

(38:33):
love it. Thank you for reading our scripture text along
with us or praying along with us. And as always,
we hope that we praise for something that's on your minds.
And as always, if you do have a praier request
that that you want Brother Oscar to pray for, only
thing you need to do is send that praier request

(38:54):
to the entities that we continue on mentioning a year
on chatting.

Speaker 6 (38:59):
From the word, a man and a man.

Speaker 17 (39:14):
Alright, alright, alright, alright, but.

Speaker 8 (39:18):
We hear the bell, you know that's time for our
word chat and we just hope that you still have
your ears on and that you are still.

Speaker 6 (39:30):
Listening to us share on chatting from the word. I'm
so grateful that you are.

Speaker 8 (39:36):
I'm really am because, uh, the word of God, it's
only helps you, but helps me too when I study,
when I share a word with you, and when I.

Speaker 6 (39:48):
Study myself, I myself. It's a story.

Speaker 8 (39:52):
Whereas Paul said to my own teaching, cause I listened
to God's word and I'm trying my best to live
by it and not saying that I'm p perfect. You
never hear Bosco going to say he's perfect, because like
everybody else, I can falter by the wayside. And that's
the reason why we all need to pray for one another,

(40:16):
those of us who can, who have a healthy prayer
life with the Father, we need to stay in prayer
for each other because in the world in which we
live in today, living for Christ has not become easy,
especially when the norm becomes sin and we live in

(40:36):
the world today whether norm is sin? Who live in
the world today when me do not recognize when.

Speaker 6 (40:44):
They are sinning of what sin is. So this morning
we're going to talk about a little bit of that.

Speaker 8 (40:51):
Maybe depend on how we're going to cover the subject
the chat for today. Uh you know, breveld Oskar, want
you do correct? What's that Veloska, Get relaxed, Get relax
Go ahead on, have your favorite morning drink coffee, tea, milk, juice,
hot chocolate, cold chocolate, and knock the horse stuff chump

(41:15):
and tell that chump you mean. While we used to
say chunk, throw that out the window.

Speaker 6 (41:20):
You don't need that, and get relaxed.

Speaker 8 (41:23):
If you relaxing, you recline and say, hey, recline on out.
If you're more relaxed and at your dye net table,
go ahead on and have a seat. But what we
request of you is to have a copy of God's
Word so that you may see where we are coming from,
so that you may see that we on point when

(41:46):
it comes to God's Word. And that's why I have
said on numerous occasions when I'm not on point when
it comes to God's Word, let me know.

Speaker 6 (41:58):
Text me if you did disagree with which I know
many have, text me talk with me. I'm not far
beyond making mistakes of what I'm teaching. But what I'm
saying to you is, if you want.

Speaker 8 (42:14):
To tell me something and show me something that I'm
off on when it comes to the Word of God,
had it come from the Word of God note book
that you've been reading, not Evena's commentaries that you're reading,
but from the Word.

Speaker 6 (42:31):
Of God itsself. Not what you heard in the poor pit.
Please don't do that. Not what Mam and Dad, Crandpaul
grandmother taught you.

Speaker 8 (42:42):
Over years at call it religion, but what is contained
in the Word of God.

Speaker 6 (42:49):
And that's all I ASTs of you.

Speaker 8 (42:51):
That's all I'm asking of you if you want to
debate me on something that I have said.

Speaker 6 (42:57):
And I's afraid this morning that the lesson that's chat.

Speaker 8 (43:00):
That we have this morning it's in tune with the
Word of God, because after what we tried to strife,
are here on chatting from the Word is to be
in tuned with God's Word. And I just hope and
pray that you have your Bible by now and in
front of you, so that we may see God's will.

Speaker 6 (43:22):
For us and to know God an intimate way. Amen.
Brdoscar Amen.

Speaker 8 (43:31):
If you've been with us quite some time, you know
we've been talking about how to study the Bible. We're
begin with the patriarch of the patarc dis sensation and
we're talking about the patriot arch Abraham, Abraham and his
wife Sarah. And now we at the point of our
studies in Genesis Genesis, I mean Genesis the.

Speaker 6 (44:00):
Nineteenth chapter. But we are going to connect the dot
and I believe they're our chats. All of our chats.

Speaker 8 (44:11):
Should connect all the dots. Okay, And here this was after,
of course, the Lord.

Speaker 6 (44:32):
Appeared before Abraham.

Speaker 8 (44:36):
And Abraham he reminded of Abraham about the having a fun.

Speaker 6 (44:45):
Sarah overheard and locked, and of course the Lord told
Abraham was Sarah did those? She didn't the heart. She
laughed and had her doubts. But God knew.

Speaker 8 (45:03):
And that's the point that that I should drive at
this time. God knew though she said it in her heart.
God knew that she did it. Oh, my friend, sometime
we can think things and our heart. We can do
things in our minds. We can do things and our thoughts.

(45:24):
But don't you know God knows we cannot get away
with anything when it comes to God. He knows your mind,
he knows your hearts, he knows your soul. But here
I say, Sarah did this in her heart. So when
Abraham confronted her about it, of course she lies. She

(45:45):
said no, no, no, I didn't do it. But Abraham said,
I know you did. So just like Abraham had his
doubts about having a son in his old age, she
did the same. She did the same, had her doubts.

(46:05):
But the Lord re ensured Abraham that he will have
a son by his wife in her old age. Sarah
that she was going to bear for him and what
they need to do at this point.

Speaker 6 (46:25):
Even though nature.

Speaker 8 (46:28):
Is saying I'm too old, but God says all things
are possible. God said, now it's this thing too hard
for me to do. God say, it's nothing hard for
him to do. Now, maybewhiles.

Speaker 6 (46:47):
We look at things like that, don't we. We look
at the nature of everything, and we.

Speaker 8 (46:55):
Look at the impossibilities of things, and some of us
look at the impossibilities of everything and don't recognize we
serve a God who can do the impossible, and not
the who can do the impossible, who can work the

(47:17):
possible or make it impossible or possible.

Speaker 6 (47:22):
And many of us we just don't have that faith
in God to know God.

Speaker 8 (47:29):
Amen, Our God created the heavens and the earth. He
created me and you, He created the stars, the moon,
and the sun. And of course if he created everything,
he knows how it functions, he knows what he can
do for us today.

Speaker 6 (47:52):
Amen, don't doubt God. Don't doubt God. If you have
a problems, pray to him.

Speaker 8 (47:58):
If you have a good prayer life with them, if
you have a good relationship with him.

Speaker 6 (48:02):
Pray to him. Don't have doubts.

Speaker 8 (48:05):
But what we need to recognize we serve a God
that cares and love us. At times he may not
answer the prayers, but we desire.

Speaker 6 (48:17):
For him to answer it. But he, in one way
of the other, he answer your prayers.

Speaker 8 (48:27):
You know, I look back retrospectively, and of course I
have a book, my booking piece of placing Storm.

Speaker 6 (48:34):
God is in control, and I.

Speaker 8 (48:36):
Show that over the years how God has inadvertently as
all my prayers. Now I'm saying, I always pray to
be rich.

Speaker 6 (48:47):
And have a big car and I mansion and all that,
and never pray for that.

Speaker 8 (48:51):
I just pray that the Lord will protect me, help
me to get the knowledges him in my heart, in
my mind and my soul. Help me to teach and
preach his word at the same time, keep me healthy,
wealthy and wise, if that's possible.

Speaker 6 (49:09):
But what I'm saying to you this morning.

Speaker 8 (49:13):
Is our faith should be main in the Lord, regardless
of what nature and our surroundings show us.

Speaker 6 (49:23):
A mambrydoscar, our faith should remain in the Lord.

Speaker 8 (49:29):
The Lord himself said, if you have a faith as
the size of a monster, see we could tell a
mountain they go into the sea, and they would do that.
In other words, he would do the impossible. He would
make the impossible a possible. It's nothing too hard for
God to do. And my friend, we need to have

(49:52):
faith in that, regardless what the future made dictate to
us me goodness, how things may look, it may look
bleak at times. To keep your faith in the Lord,

(50:13):
keep your faith and hand and the Lord that he knows.

Speaker 6 (50:18):
Was best for all of us.

Speaker 8 (50:21):
And if we if our prayer life is like that,
God would never let us down. And reast why most
of us are letting down our prayers because they do.
It's not God's will for us, for us to have
certain things or for certain things to.

Speaker 6 (50:39):
Occur in our lives.

Speaker 15 (50:43):
But still yet we still must have.

Speaker 6 (50:46):
Faith in Him. This morning, and that's what we want
to talk about this morning. We want to talk about
the prayer of Abraham for solemn and Gamarra. We want
to talk about the prayer.

Speaker 8 (51:10):
That Abe have prayed on the behalf of sorrow uh
of eight uh on' the have of Sodom.

Speaker 6 (51:20):
And we wanna talk about that prayer. If it's alright,
look to you that we talk about it. Well, I
want you to recognize we go to Uh.

Speaker 8 (51:30):
I think we in Genesis eighteen. And then this lesson
gonna go to Genesis eighteen and nineteen.

Speaker 6 (51:39):
Which is covering.

Speaker 8 (51:43):
And here be mored uh Bible sents and verse twenty
of chapter eighteen the sence of the Lord Shid, because
the cry of Solomn and Gomarraw is great, and because
their sin is very grievous.

Speaker 6 (52:04):
I would go down now and see whether they have done.

Speaker 8 (52:14):
Done all together according to the cry of it which
has come unto me, which has come.

Speaker 6 (52:28):
Unto me, which has come excuse me, which has come
unto me? And if not, I will know.

Speaker 8 (52:41):
And the men turned their faces from thence and went
towards Solomon.

Speaker 6 (52:49):
But Abram stood yet before the Lord. He stood before
the Lord, and he being again to.

Speaker 8 (53:07):
Beg if I may use that term, he began to suffocate, suffocations.

Speaker 6 (53:16):
And dig to the Lord.

Speaker 8 (53:20):
For sodom, knowing that his family, his nephews, and his
wife and their children the girls, was in the law
in the sodom.

Speaker 6 (53:35):
So he began to aks God, and in verse.

Speaker 15 (53:45):
Twenty three.

Speaker 6 (53:48):
Abe him, aks God.

Speaker 8 (53:53):
Will you also destroyed the righteous with the wicked? If
that be any righteous, that were you still destroyed.

Speaker 6 (54:05):
And what I want you to do this more pay
cloth of the attention to Abraham's prayer. Abraham is just
not asking.

Speaker 8 (54:21):
And I want you to pay another attention to something here.
He of course Abraham and the Lord was on good turns.
They they was on good turns.

Speaker 6 (54:37):
Ab that was a friend of God.

Speaker 8 (54:40):
But still yet did his prayer get answered? And after
big ques the abra Ham prayer get answered. And we
want you to recognize abraham prayers here and I hope
I can finish this this morning. And here the Bible said,

(55:04):
and verse twenty four, chapter eighteen Genesis, he said, fear
adventure that be fifty righteous within the city would also destroyed,
and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that
are there?

Speaker 6 (55:22):
Is, in other words, what.

Speaker 8 (55:26):
Abe hamn't said. He said that word fearadventure me supposed.
And then the king James version said fear adventure in
other words supposed, said not supposed, My lord, if that
be fifty righteous, will you spare it for the fifty righteous?

(55:49):
And then they said, and then he's then be far
from me to do after this matter, to slay the
righteous with the wicked. And the righteous should be as
the wicked that be far from the shall not the
judge of all their do right. And the Lord said,

(56:13):
if I fi in solemn VIP be righteous within the city,
did I will stare all.

Speaker 6 (56:23):
The place for their sakes?

Speaker 8 (56:26):
And then Abraham said answered and said, behold now I've
taken upon me to continue the Lord, which.

Speaker 6 (56:35):
I am but dust and ashes here.

Speaker 8 (56:41):
Like I said, you got to look at and listen
to Abe. And now he said, I am nothing. I
ain't nobody, but hear me out.

Speaker 6 (56:52):
Lord.

Speaker 12 (56:53):
Suppose spose that be.

Speaker 6 (57:08):
Said, suppose.

Speaker 8 (57:11):
That be forty, we spare it for their sake, and
in the words, I would not do it for forty sake.
And he said, unto him, Oh, let not the Lord
be angry with me. Suppose that be thirty be found there.

(57:36):
And they said, I would not do it if I
find thirty there. And he said, behold now I've taken
upon me to speak until the Lord again, Lord, Lord, Lord,
suppose that said be thirty out twenty excuse me found there?

Speaker 6 (57:57):
He said, I would not do it for it's twenty.
I would just not destroyed for the twenty sick.

Speaker 8 (58:03):
And he said again, Old Lord, not not not, I
don't wanta in other words, I don't wan't bother you,
get on your head, get on your mind, But.

Speaker 6 (58:13):
Will you let not the Lord be angry with me?
And I will forget.

Speaker 8 (58:20):
But this once supposed ten shall be found there, And
he said, I will not destroy it for ten sakes.
And the Lord went his way, and as soon as
he had left, coming with Abraham, and Abraham returned unto

(58:41):
his place.

Speaker 6 (58:43):
In other words, Abraham is beggary the Lord to spare
soon and gamorrow, of course. And the Lord said, in
other words, he is pleading his bargaining with God.

Speaker 8 (59:09):
And that's a beautiful thing incident where we have a
God that we can bargain with.

Speaker 6 (59:16):
And here Abraham is bargaining with God.

Speaker 8 (59:20):
And God say, i'm'a, i'm'a send my angels down to
check it out, okay, And that's what happened here.

Speaker 6 (59:30):
He sent his angels down to check it out.

Speaker 8 (59:38):
And lo and behold what happened when the angels went
down to check it out. What happened to the angels
is is is uther was ugly scene, if I could
feel it like that, And it reminds us of what
we do today, that how the world is is respecting

(01:00:01):
God today is so much sin that's going on.

Speaker 6 (01:00:07):
That's why we as Christians, we that love the Lord,
we that are.

Speaker 8 (01:00:13):
The members of the Body of Christ. We either have
a healthy relationship with the Lord. We that have a
healthy prayer life, We that keep praying constantly to the Lord.
We need to pray for this country at which we
live in, because in this country today everything goes. In

(01:00:35):
this country today, everything is all right in this country
today everything in other words, everybody, everything.

Speaker 6 (01:00:47):
Is all right. And when you look around you must
act your say. Where a is themorrows?

Speaker 8 (01:00:56):
Where is the bodyle Where is God's word in some
people lives, how they talk and what they believe. Oh,
my friend, and this is one thing we can say
about the Word which you will Christ is coming soon.

Speaker 6 (01:01:16):
And my friend, with that reassurance, I can.

Speaker 8 (01:01:19):
Keep on living for the Lord he calls me home.
I can keep on teaching the Word he calls me home.
I can keep on standing in the buildway baking souls
come on in as long as I recognize that my
Lord is gonna return. And that's the reason why I

(01:01:40):
thank the Lord every day for putting me in the
position of preaching and teaching God's word here on chatting
