Speaker 1 (01:20):

this is not the day that we normally taught sports.
I know, I know I had to come in on
a weekday, the end of the week that is, and
give you some important information because we have two guests,
sports lovelies, not one, but two special guests that's coming
up after the break. And before we get to our

Thoughts on social media. And what about further the sports lovelies,
I know what you came here to do, and that was.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
To do what Talk Sports.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yes, starts this out by sending my condolences to the
Tumbo family, and I heard about it like an hour ago,
so uh, it's it's a heavy heart over here. I've
met him plenty of times. I know what he means,
not only did the city and what he's done for

(02:23):
the basketball community and the basketball fans here in Atlanta,
but what he did back home and building hospitals and
all the people he's infected across the world, that's just
as important as h what he's done over here. So
I was warning some my condolences out to him and
his family. Uh, coming out to his family, and uh, yeah, no,

(02:45):
we lost a legend to day for sure.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
That was Trey.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I'm speaking on the pattering of the Kimbei Tom Belk. Now,
this was fun media Day on Monday, and it was
announced by the NBA that the passing up and iconic
to her the kim Dame Matambo at.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Age fifty eight, following.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
A battle with great cancer.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver released a statement calling Matambo one
of the greatest humanitarians in sports history.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yes, indeed.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Now while we're at media day where the Atlanta Hawks,
Clint Capella had to say this about Matambo and how
he affected him.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
You know, my mama always since I started basketballs, you know,
always talked to me about him about how he committed
the country so proud, and I had the chance that
whenever I got drafted by Houston, I met him. I
met him the first day or second day, and he
always I've always looked up to him my whole country homebo.
We always he needs such a good name, and he

(03:52):
always did so much for the country, your hospital and
all that stuff. And I always feel that whenever I
talked to him, always felt that he was always humble
out of a lot of knowledge about more than basketball,
you know, and that's that's when I've always been inspired
to be just more than just a basketball player or
just be identified as a basketball player. But you know,

(04:14):
you always know that you have to do stuff outside
and learn how to be a businessman or be a
great father, a great husband. And it's those these are
the values that that that he loved. And it's just
it's tough.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yes, indeed, yes, indeed, Rest in peace to the Kimbay
Matambo age fifty eight after a battle with brain cancer.
I will say this before we end this actual segment.
Matambo such a huge, tinormous personality and just listen, his

(04:53):
statue was large. Indeed, one of my greatest memories of
seen to Kimbay Matambo is him being just walking around,
you know, being in the arena, just around the arena,
just I would just bumping in him from time to time,
and I just you know, sometimes it's just very normal
to see these figures, whether we see him Dominique Wilkins

(05:16):
often or seeing mckimbay.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Hello, Jimmy Carter, you know, we see Jimmy Carter.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
And by the way, happy birthday to Jimmy Carter's one
hundredth birthday, he's still in hospice for sending him well
wishes as well.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
But again, these.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Are figures that I often see.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
It I don't always get a chance to sit down
and just give them their flowers while they're here.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Unfortunately. You know, of course, the Kimba Matombo has passed
away at age fifty eight.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
But I've just wanted to reflect on just an amazing
memory at him. I'm just seeing him all around, just
always humble, right, just smiling.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
But one particular thing that stood out to me because
I was just like Yao Tambo there you gos's walking
by and my gial you know, my home has pretty
high ceilings, but I'll say, you know, not the highest
of high.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
I'm sure other people have higher ceilings, but the.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Ceilings are you know, probably a little bit above average.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
So I'm looking at the arena and you know the door.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Frames to enter and exit out of different areas in
the arena, and this particular area, Ma Tambo was leaving
out of like the media area to go and enter
into the arena and he literally had to duck down
through the door entrance to get into the doorway and.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I'm just like, oh my gosh, you're so bring in salt.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
We really really don't realize how large these athletes, these players,
whether they're NBA players, they are very There are some
tall feeble.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
But most importantly, I will say this, even.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
With this tall, this largeness of his statue, his heart
was amazing. Of course, Adam Silver spoke about just being
a great humanitarian.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Look rest in power. Rest in power to Kim Bai Tembo.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Now moving right along, of course, I want to get
back into our Atlanta Hawks media day. Such a great
event to see our old and Neil, quite a few
new people on our roster. I did get a chance
to speak with Bogey and listen, you know, I could
see Bogie during the off season, you know, cover Atlanta

(07:39):
United and guess who's there, Clint Compella and Bogie supporting.
We saw try Young, you know, but really got a
chance to see Bogie in action.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
And this is what he had to.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Say about his experience of supporting Atlanta United.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
Actually good cool yesterday I got a new one. Thank you,
Adel United.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
It's great.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
I think soccer is developing in States and the stadiums
are nice. It's great atmosphere, and I don't know, I
was honestly surprised that, you know, they're singing here, they're
cheering for their team, They're really following, you know. I
honestly thought it was another like maybe a game that
just popcorn, how dogs and eating. But actually, you know,

(08:23):
fantasy cheering and they care about the game. So pretty
good experience and looking forward to follow them.

Speaker 1 (08:31):

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Okay, AJ Griffin, he has decided to retire at.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
The tender age of twenty one years old.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, And it was so many questions as to what
is going on with Aj. It's like he was conflicted
yet so many you know, we were just concerned because
these posts we were seeing.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
It was like, Okay, he's struggling.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
What is going on? Is that a mental thing?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
What is happening?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Well, come to find out he has decided to become
a minister.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Griffin was selected as a sixteenth pick in the twenty
twenty two NBA draft by our Hawks and signed a
four year deal work seventeen point one million. When I
tell you this, sports celebties, listen, this is a big thing.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
This is a big decision.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
And I'm pretty sure it was not something that he
had to, you know, just jump in and pursue overnight.
This was something that really was on his Sorry, and
I will tell you.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
This, when I met this kid to years ago, was it.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Oh my goodness, the humbleness of this kid. When I
tell you, Aj Griffin.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Is the real deal.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Such a nice guy, well mannered.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I can actually I understand fully, I know exactly why
he made that decision to become a minister. Okay, sometimes
I've already said, you know a lot of times.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
People say, yeah, I'm this, I'm bad, I'm this.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Some people you don't even have to.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Have them say what they are because you already know.
You already know.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
So I will say this to Aj. You know, this
is an amazing journey he is on.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
It's going to be a difficult journey.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Well, most importantly, following your heart is most important. Following
the heart, following the Holy Spirit, whatever it is this
leading you, Aj, you got nothing but support from us
here at Chisumu Squirt, wishing you well in your NAT journey.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
I know that we all have been on this journey
following our Atlanta United five stripe team through this twenty
twenty four MLS season, and of course you found out
that every.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Match does not end in victory.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
And that was just the case on Wednesday night when
the team clashed against the Montreal at the Bens, which
resorted in a defeat for our team. Now, despite Daririeo's notching.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
His seventh goal of the season, it just wasn't enough.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
It just wasn't enough.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
To overcome a determined Montreal squad led by.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yourself Martinez, Yes you know him as the former Atlanta
United striker who made a triumphant returned to the men's
wearing different.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Colors and that of siet Montreal.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Now, this Venezuelan Ford proved to be the difference maker
when it came to.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
This closely contested match, netting.

Both goals for his team. This match showcase moments of
brilliance of course from both teams with near.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
All I can say is wow, Wow. Lady United on
Wednesday night fill two in one to Montreal.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Tough one, very tough one, and we only got two
matches remaining on the regular season. The team will need to.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Regroup quickly as they prepare to host New York Red
Bulls on Saturday, October fifth.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Make sure you're in the building.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
The team will be without Brook Lennon's who will miss Saturday's.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Match due to a yellow yellow card accumulation. Now we're
wishing them well as they continue on to.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
The next as the season is slowly coming to an end.
Hopefully remain can't catch play, We'll see.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
We'll just match my match. Okay, match by you match.
That's how we have to play it. Now, let's switch
fields to the other side, to the other side of football. Yes,
our Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Well, well, well, the Saints have come and gone.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
On Sunday, a tale of special teens, heroicism and defensive prowess.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
No fighting, for sure, had me on the edge of
my seat.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Now the Falcons, they did clinch a very close match
twenty six to.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Thirty twenty sister twenty four when with a.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Record breaking jog in a final seconds against those old
eighth our rival. Yes, the rivalry continued, and it continued
in the stance too.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
By the way, it's first, Lovelies, I'm not sure if
you saw I had.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
To reiterate what had happened was, yeah, fans got to fighting.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Had a brawl in the stance. Don't listens, first, lovelies,
not condoning that behavior. I will say this out of
all the fans, all of.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
All the fans that I've seen to come here in Atlanta,
I will say the Falcons and the Saints. It's something
about that rivalry that gets people.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
In a tizzy. This is titsy. Is that the best
word I can say.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
I mean, when I tell you emotions get hat go
to a Saints and Falcons game and you will see
the intensity you will see.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Now, of course, I talk.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
All the time about those Ants, and you know I
always taught that smack about those Saints.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
But of course it's all in good fine and good humor.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
And good competitiveness. Right, This is a part of the game.
You got to be competitive. You got to show your support.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
For your team. Why would I not.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
I'm born and raised here in Atlanta. Why would I
not support my Atlanta Falcons. But at the same time,
totally get how other people go about their teams as well.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I will say, this fight, this ball, this whole outbrawl, right.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
This was just unnecessary in the stands, they were pretty
high up. I mean several people, women were injured. I
mean things should have not done to that degree. I
just again, I get it. You have seen time and

(17:29):
time we've seen these teams fight. They can go at
it for the love of the game.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
But you know your girl, I love my team.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
But I will not be fighting for them. Okay, you
will not see me.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
I will go collectly take a snack break.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
We'll see see me at the concessions where I'm fighting
against what I should not be eating. That's my battle,
That's who I'll be fighting. But yeah, to say that,
I just had to throw that out there because again, this.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Is just wild.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
It's so wild.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
But look, I'm not shocked by it.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Let us know your thoughts on social media.

Speaker 1 (18:11):

me tell you, Atlanta, they really support the Falcons.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
And when it comes to the Saints, oh no. Let

But outside of the Saints, I will say that let's
keep focused because last night Captain Kirk in a Falcon
sweat surf to victory and a thrilling overtime win.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Of course, Tampa Bay Bucks was in the building.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
They faced off in a High States battle for the
NFC supremacy.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
This context was nothing short of a roller coaster.

Speaker 8 (19:13):
Rite.

Look, I was on the edge.

Speaker 1 (19:18):

Right, just going back to just ha mean supportiveness and
just always just being a part of the support system, right.
Cocog you know she had a moment with Naomi Asaka.
Basically fans were just waiting for this rematch between Coco

(20:23):
and Naomi, two major figures in women's tennis. Their match
would abruptly end because Osaka she had a back injury
and she was forced to retire in the third set,
and Naomi showing sisterhood, showing sportsmithship, helped.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Osaka.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
As she was gathering her belonging, she helped her packed up.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
She saw that she was in you know, distress, but just.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Lended a special head.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
And I always say.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
You know, this is what sports is about, especially when
it comes to women in sports. I love that we
could sit there and support each other. And that is
a pure example of how to support each other when
you're actually competing against each other, but you still have
love and admiration for one another.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Right.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
So, when Coco was speaking with the media, she said,
I wish Naomi is speeding recovery. Nobody wants to win
a match like this, especially at one set. All overall,
I try my best. It wasn't my best tennis.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
It was just one of those matches where you're trying
your best each point. So again, congratulations to Naomi for
just being all around good athlete who shows sportsmanship and
I'm loving this.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
I love this.

Speaker 1 (21:56):

They don't even let the game be fully overwhet before
you have a.

It's been two weeks. For goodness sakes.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
I don't know what happened or what happened, but listen.
Under coach t Tuolache, the Dream had consecutive playoff appearances
twenty twenty three twenty twenty four. The organization it extended
beyond merely reaching the postseason. The Dream's front office decision

seen Lebron to unfollow Diddy, and I think that may

have been the right move.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Now, first, the things we're small.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Okay, you'll say that, right.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
I think it's very interesting that he has nothing to say,

You know, he does not want to incriminate himself or.

But do you think that eventually he's going to have
to say something.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
I think it is.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
I think there's a lot that we don't know, and
there's a lot that will be coming out in the
next few weeks and months and years, to say the least,
so many many meaning where people are involved, and we think,
I always say again, entertainment. This crosses our sports world
all the time, and the years of private sample.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Of how entertainment crosses over to the sports.

All right, my next guest, it's the founder of the
Pink Frock Foundation.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Spurts lovely. Please welcome Tammy Bolton too, Chicks in the Sport.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Hooray Well Bolton, welcome back, Welcome back. But this has
been a pleasure speaking with you yet again, and you
have so much news to tell us at it's a
sighting time. But for those who may not be familiar
and with just the pink Frog, could you just explain
what the Pink Frog Foundation is and what inspired you

(33:42):
and your husband Robert to start the foundation in twenty twelve.

Speaker 7 (33:48):
I am a twenty seven year breast cancer survivor. And
during that time, I had a lot of support. So
I had, you know, family and friends that kind of
stepped in and helped me clean my home, help get Robert,

(34:09):
help Robert to get me back and forth to doctor's appointments.
And I have my brother's mother cooked a meal for
every week for eleven months, so her and my brother
would bring a meal over on Sunday and they would

(34:32):
that meal would last until Thursday, and then Robert would
get just something for us that would last Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday, and then they would be back the following Sunday.
And they did that for eleven months and did not
miss a week.

Speaker 8 (34:49):
So fast forward.

Speaker 7 (34:52):
I just you know, I was saying, and I have
always thought that when the Lord brings you through something,
there's work for you to do, for to go out
and help the community. So one day I was talking
to my husband, Robert, and I said, you know what
I think. I want to start a foundation, and I
want the foundation to support breast cancer patients while they're

(35:16):
undergoing treatment. So the same services that my friends and
family provided for me, I wanted to provide those for
other breast cancer patients. So what we do is we
provide maid service, meal service, and transportation to breast cancer
patients while they're undergoing treatment. And that's how we started

(35:39):
and what inspired us to start the foundation.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Such an inspirational story. But you know what what does
it mean to just personally for you as a breast
cancer survivor and the co founder of pink Frog Foundation,
just to see just the growth and how do you
feel about this year's event? This is such an exciting
time for you guys.

Speaker 7 (36:01):
Yes, well, we look forward to this event every year.
Back in when I was well, let me see, it's
twenty seven years, so seventeen years ago when I was
doing when I was celebrating my tenth year of survivorship,
we wanted to do a celebration, so we had a

(36:23):
pink Affair. It was held at the Rialto and everything
was ten so it costs ten dollars to get in
and we had ten acts. So when we started the
foundation twelve years ago, we needed a fundraiser. So a
lot of people do you know walks or golf tournaments,

(36:44):
and we have done those, but they were just you know,
something extra.

Speaker 8 (36:48):
But this is our main event.

Speaker 7 (36:50):
This is the event that supports our efforts the Pink
Frog Affair.

Speaker 8 (36:55):
So it's an evening of poetry.

Speaker 7 (36:57):
Music, and dance and we just love of you know,
we're always excited every year just to see the different
talents that we are able to bring in and that
you know that it has grown. Our very first event
we probably had maybe two hundred and fifty people maybe,
and so at our last event we had about fifteen hundred.

(37:21):
So just to be able every year to see it
just grow and you know, for people to just come
and be expired. So we just that's my biggest thing.
And to raise money, you know, that's the other thing.
We have to to watch the money, you know, get
We get more and more money every year, we raise

(37:42):
more funds. And the other piece is, you know, during
the pandemic, we were very nervous about you know, the
pandemic because we couldn't meet in person, so it.

Speaker 8 (37:53):
Was virtual and we still had great talent.

Speaker 7 (37:56):
We always climax with a gospel artist because we want
the inspiration to be there, and so we raised more
money during the pandemic, which was very fortunate.

Speaker 8 (38:08):
So we just like.

Speaker 7 (38:09):
To see every year, what is next, you know, what
can we do, what can we add extra what you know,
just different things. So we just look forward to it
every year and we just I always like because at
the end of the day, people say this really blessed me.
I know that there's hope. I know there's hope for

(38:31):
a friend, or I know there's hope for me. So
just a very inspirational night.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Oh my gosh, this is so exciting, and congratulations again
on this phenomenal growth for the Pink Frog Foundation. But
I know you spoke just briefly about just fundraising, but
can you just share how will the funds be raised
just to help support the breast cancer patients?

Speaker 2 (38:54):
How will that be distributed?

Speaker 7 (38:56):
Okay, so, like I mentioned before or for our efforts,
we are on the grounds right, so we supply a
two hundred dollars get Kroger gift card, we give the
maid service, We offer the maid service and transportation. So
the funds being raised tonight will support those efforts. Two

(39:21):
hundred dollars a month for breast cancer patients that go
on the site and if they qualify and they ask
for a Kroger gift card, we send them a Kroger
gift card. Maid service is one hundred and fifty dollars
a month, So we spend one hundred and fifty dollars
a month for each patient that asks for maid service.

(39:45):
Same thing for Kroger, two hundred dollars a month for
each patient that we support. Transportation is typically around two
hundred and eighty dollars for one round trip because we
don't use uber or lift or you know, we use
a car service, so we know that the car is clean,

(40:05):
we know we have a responsible driver and a responsible company.
So you're looking, we look at two hundred and eighty
dollars for one round trip. So we picked the patient up,
we take them to their treatment, and we bring them
back two hundred and eighty dollars on average. So the
moneies that we raise support those efforts. So if we

(40:29):
are supporting just say at one time, we at any
given time, we could be supporting thirty patients at a time,
so you fifteen of those patients could be asking for
all three services. So that's why it's very very important
for us to have this event and raise the funds

(40:49):
because this is where the money is going.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Absolutely, Oh my goodness, this is such an amazing cost.
But can't you just give a just a glimpse or
sneak peek and what to expect.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
This is so exciting.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
What will we see at this eventy?

Speaker 7 (41:05):
So the event every year is an evening of poetry, music,
and dance, just you know, celebrating breast cancers, the virus
and honoring the memory of the loved ones. So when
you come there, there's something for everyone. So we will
have a little jazz, we will have our little poetry,

(41:27):
we will have some dance and so it's typically anywhere
from eight to ten acts. And then we always climax
with a gospel artist because for people that don't know,
frog is.

Speaker 8 (41:41):
That for fully rely on God.

Speaker 7 (41:46):
So for those that don't know, that's the acronym frog
is fully rely on God. So with that being said,
we want to close out in praise and worship. Always
have a gospel artist. So this year's artist is Ricky
Diller and so we are very very very excited. And

(42:09):
then we have David walkin high praise, which is I
call him the Pink Frog Choir, but they're the choir
that back up our artists every year.

Speaker 8 (42:18):
So we've had Ricky Diller.

Speaker 7 (42:20):
Last year, we had Ylana Adams, we've had Brian Courtney Wilson.
We've had Maritt Brown Clark, We've had Tremaine Hawkins. So
every year we've had a gospel known gospel artist and
some people don't really some people have. Most people have
heard of Ricky Diller, but don't realize that some of
the songs that you hear in church and some of

(42:42):
the choirs and other artists singing rickydillit is behind that
he's the writer and the producer of those of those songs.
So if people can come out, this is what they
will be able to enjoy.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
I love that such an inspirational night.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
Can't wait.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
This is so exciting, it's happening on Friday.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
But most importantly, can you please share with the listeners
how can they get involved with the foundation, and just
also make sure to plug in the social media pace
so we can definitely support this initiative.

Speaker 7 (43:15):
Yeah, so we are on Facebook if you can follow
us on Facebook, the Pink Frog Foundation. We also on
Instagram the pink Frog Helps And the biggest thing for
us is to get the word out that we exist.
We get a lot of you know, social workers and

(43:39):
everything kind of help us with the patients, but let
people know that we are out there and we are
always in need of funds. If there's someone listening that
would like to do a fundraiser. We have people that
contact us and say, hey, I have a restaurant, I
want to help what you're doing. We would like to

(44:00):
do ten percent back. We're gonna do it for two
weeks in October or the whole month of October. We've
had the Hyatt reach out to us and say, hey,
we're gonna do a pink drink. Those proceeds are gonna
go to the Pink Frog Foundation. So the biggest thing
is there anyone out there who has fundraising ideas that
we can do on the outside of what we're doing yearly,

(44:24):
we have retirement homes that reach out to us when
they do their Pink Day, they raise get raised money
and give us the funds from that. We benefit from
those type programs. So we would like for if there's
anybody we need more money. Like I said, the efforts

(44:47):
that we are doing this very costly.

Speaker 8 (44:51):
You know, it's very costly.

Speaker 7 (44:53):
And so I've been told that right now there are
not many organizations if out there that's providing transportation.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
Now.

Speaker 7 (45:03):
I do know Uber is doing some sort of they're
doing some sort of cancer transportation, but you have to
live sixteen miles within you know, where you are having
your treatment. So we're not doing sixteen miles. We do
we do for the most part Metropolitan Atlanta and some

(45:24):
of the surrounding areas, but again it's very costly, so
we need people to have fundraisers for us or donate
money to the organization. That's what we're really looking for
right now.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
Absolutely. Now a quick question, I know, as far as
the future holds for this amazing initiative, what are you
excited about most for the near future.

Speaker 8 (45:48):
Growth.

Speaker 7 (45:49):
I was telling someone just the other day. We are
on the grounds helping. There are a lot of fun,
lot of foundations that are out there to raise money
to get it for a cure, and that is good,
you know, we really want that as well. But we

(46:11):
are on the grounds helping patients. So I want to
be able to spread further out, not necessarily outside of
the state, but I want to be able to help
more people in the state. Right now, we you know,
we're doing, like I said, Metropolitan Atlanta and some of
the surrounding areas. We go a little bit further out,

(46:33):
you know, Johnsborough Stone Mountain.

Speaker 8 (46:36):
You know that kind of thing.

Speaker 7 (46:37):
But we want to be able to help more people
in the state of Georgia. So that's what I'm looking for,
just to really really grow, really be known and be
able to help more within the state of Georgia. You know,
I know of another foundation, so they kind of they've
they've spreaded their wings and so they're like in you know,

(47:00):
making Georgia and those type of things. So that's what
I'm looking forward to, for us to be able to
grow and just be able to handle the State of Georgia.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
Absolutely, this is such an amazing event. Sprits lovely Spke
sure to go out and support the Pink Frog Foundation.
And again Tammy please go ahead and plug in how
we can find out more information about the Pink Frog
Foundation when we're trying Tammy Bolton please.

Speaker 7 (47:28):
Yes, so you can go on our website www. The
Pinkfrogfoundation dot org and everything you would need to know
is on our website. And please if you can come
out on Friday, October the fourth at seven thirty pm
that Martin Luther King International Chapel Morehouse College, you will
be in for a treat.

Speaker 1 (47:50):
Absolutely such an amazing event. Congratulations again in order for
just betting it's such a prestigious organizational foundation that is
just continue sleep growing. We here at Chisen of Sports
to look forward to supporting you from now into the
future and wishing you the best.

Speaker 3 (48:07):
And again, thank.

Speaker 1 (48:08):
You so much for coming on and sharing your story,
and congratulations again for just showing the survivors that there
is help. There's help out there and we're all in
this together.

Speaker 8 (48:20):
Help help in faith. That's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Yes, sports lovelies, please welcome gospel musician Ricky Diller too.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Chicks send us sport. What has inspired you to just
be a part of the Pink Frog affair for breast
cancer awareness.

Speaker 9 (48:39):
Well, there are so many women who are faced with
this disease and also many women fear that this disease
could possibly come their way and for them to be
encouraged and inspired through this movement. I think it is

(49:00):
an awesome movement that Tammy and Robert Bolden have put together.
And I understand that Tammy is a survivor of breast
cancer survivor and I think her ministry is incredible and
to take it to the world to many women who
have faced it survived it and some are still going

(49:21):
through it now. So to join up and collabse with
them and to inspire and courage to uplift we are
here for.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
That absolutely now you know, this month is Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, which is really important and just speaking as
a support system from some of my friends who have
actually passed away and yes, this week I found out
some news about a close friend. But just to know

(49:50):
and just to have like your music to support and
just give encouragement to those ladies out there that are
just suffering through breast cancer and just trying to how
does that make you feel? Just knowing that you are
an inspiration to those that are going through this tragedy
during this time.

Speaker 2 (50:07):
In their life.

Speaker 9 (50:09):
Well, what is a call on my life through music
to uplift and inspire and to build the faith of
those women who have faced this dreadful disease and to
be able to sing a song, say a word, quote
a scripture.

Speaker 8 (50:29):
Say a prayer would bring hope.

Speaker 9 (50:32):
And faith, uplifting of their faith that God is able
to do exceeding abundantly above all that we may ask
or think. For He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised
for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him,
and by his stripes these women can be healed.

Speaker 8 (50:51):
So I am.

Speaker 9 (50:52):
Speaking into every life of every woman who is faced
with this disease that God is able.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (51:01):
I'm getting chills right now, but this is so important.
Thank you for sharing that with us as well. But
can you also share just your journey in the gospel
music industry and what has been just the most meaningful
thing to you about just being a part of this
legacy that you're building.

Speaker 8 (51:21):
Well, when we.

Speaker 9 (51:21):
Thank the Lord for the call on our lives, you know,
I started this ministry some thirty five years ago with
my choir and new g In the beginning, I had
no clue of the full assignment. But as the journey
began and the singers and musicians would come my way
just to see their lives change through being connected to

(51:43):
this ministry and being called to music ministry, and to
stand on my stage to see them grow. Many of
them come from just regular churches, singing in their choir,
but when they come aboard our team, they are sharp
and then prepared for ministry. As they go out into

(52:05):
the world and do what God has called them to do.

Speaker 5 (52:08):
So.

Speaker 9 (52:08):
We have some who come and they've left us being
a pastor, they've left us being a minister of music,
a doctor, a politician, a lawyer, of a professor, you
name it. Have come through our ministry and to see
them grow there has been the highlight of my call
and the highlight of what I do with the singers

(52:31):
that come aboard our ministry.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
I love that. I love that.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
Now being a part of the gospel music industry, can
you just speak about some of your inspiration? Was there
anyone in particular that you were inspired by or you know,
because again you know, you're very prestigious. You have several
albums that charge the billboards and two Grammy nomination. Listen,
talk about that and just your inspiration.

Speaker 9 (52:56):
Well, thank you. Yes, we've had many, many inspirations from
our past as we began our journey with the likes
of the Lady Appatina Walker, Reverin James Cleveland, Yes, Father
Charles G. Hayes, Reverend Clay Evans, Reverend mil Brons, and
I can go down the line of inspirations that have

(53:17):
caused me to be here and allowed me to stand
on their shoulders. And we thank God for seven Grammy
nominations and that role, Dove winnings and Stellar winnings and
television shows. So we thank God for choosing us to

(53:38):
do it. I said yes to him and we are
here and as long as we've been running, we're not
tired yet. We can go on a little. We have
win to go on a little longer and a little further.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
Absolutely, absolutely. Now my last question for you, this prestigious event,
that Pink Frog Affair is happening this weekend. What met
since do you hope to just share with the audience
and what can we expect from your performance?

Speaker 9 (54:05):
Well, I'm a gospel artist and again I have come
here to make sure that when we get in the
room that those women who are faced with this trauma
is that they know that it is not over until
God says it's over. It is not over until God

(54:26):
and fixes things and transform things and shift things in
their lives, that this disease would be over for them.
And I believe that it is possible to be a
cancer survivor, as the Tatammy ears and many other women
can testify, and I'm sure tonight will hear I mean
tomorrow night will hear many testimonies of women whose lives

(54:48):
have been impacted by this disease. Their whole lives have
changed because of it. But on the other side of
this trauma, they have received faith and from our God.
So tomorrow night we're just going to be there to
inspire an uplift, encourage, and rebuild faith and those who

(55:10):
are dealing.

Speaker 5 (55:11):
With this issue.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
Absolutely. Thank you so much, Ricky for coming on. It's
been a pleasure you have to come back. But most importantly,
please plug in any of your social media pages so
we can follow you and make sure that we support
you and also check up on what you have going
on for the future.

Speaker 9 (55:51):
We'll see you soon. Thank you again.

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before.
