the showcase is shooting skills. He went in an impressive

(06:37):
seven of nine from the field, including remarkable three or
four from beyond the arc. And I will say this,
he displayed and showed up and gathered eighteen points. Now
this is really highlighting Richard Chat's potential as a score.
And of course this this young guy may be a
threat and the NBA.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
So look, I'm not mad about what I saw.

you know, just taking in, just taking in this different era,
this moment. And here's what coach, you know, Coach Raheem
had to say about the confidence the team. We have

(09:02):
a really good process that these guys believe in. Go
through that process each and every week, short weeks, long weeks,
whatever the case for us. They view those things next
to year things, different frame which as plan. And now
we got a normal week, one of the few that

with the sensation of Haitland Clark, who has really brought
you know, a lot of attention to the league, good

Speaker 2 (22:57):
What my god, Oh no, she didn't.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Oh no she didn't. Oh no, this for didn't. Okay, Okay,
sports lovelies, my sma h J. Moment is upon us,
and listen, listen and listen. Well, you know, I've made

(23:24):
some jokes in the past, and I you know, I
really did it. It's also fun, but there this is
just not a laughing matter, Okay, not at all. You know,
I always say, you know, in the world of professional sports,
multi million dollars, you know, contracts are in commonplace. You know,
you might assume that athletes are immune to financial pickballs. However,

(23:48):
that's not always the case, you know, especially when it
came to Dwight Howard. Yeah, yeah, Dwight. He serves as
a reminder that even the most successful individuals can fall
victims to sophisticate it fraud schemes, those besty scammers. Pisces

(24:10):
me off. But you know what, Lesson, I just wanted
to just highlight just the vulnerability for us by high
profile athletes, you know, but also raised some important questions
about financial literacy and the need for vigilance in protecting
someone's part owned millions, okay, part earned millions.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yes, No, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Calvin Durton Junior, a Georgia businessman, but I'll call him
a con man. He orchestrated it intricate fraud that cost
weight millions, not one million, not two million, not three million,
not phone, not five, not six, but seven million dollars.

(24:54):
Now you know the scheme. It revolved around the lost
promises of purchasing in wa B eighteen. Now you do
you know what's wab at? We were talking about the
Atlanta Dream. Hmm yeah, man, the Atlanta Dream. Now you know,

(25:15):
one could think because I was just sitting here like, oh,
scratching my head, shaking my head. Oh MD, what it's going?
Oh Dwight, can you call Renee? Call Nay, I'll rename Montgomery,
you know, the Atlanta Dreams owner or one of the owners,
and perhaps she could give you some insight on the wedding,

(25:36):
the whereabouts or whatabouts or whatever you need to do
and who you need to talk to to get some
coins you know, distributed through the Atlanta Dream. But I
don't understand how that didn't happen. But you know I digress.
Let me go back for a moment and get back
into the details of this darting situation. Now listen, it's

(26:00):
is that are using Dwight's investments for the stated purpose.
Darton went on a sprending spending free financed his own
lavish lifestyle a mansion, high end luxury vehicles, expensive artwork.

(26:21):
This gross misuse of funds was not only deprived Howard
of his investments, but also shattered the dreams of potentially
only a sports team. Shame while you scammel, Shame on you.
Now here's the legal consequences, Because it came down to
the bottom line, and this fraudulent scam must end. Eventually,

(26:42):
it unraveled, leading darting through a convention in Manhattan Federal Court. Notably,
this wasn't Darton's only transgression, because he was also found
guilty of their friding another NBA player channeler person out
of one million what the heck? One million dollars? You

(27:03):
know were slowly There comes a time when I just
get so round up and in my feeling, and when
I tell you I do not like to be scammed,
I definitely do not like to be light too. And
when moments like that happens, I get wowt H. And

(27:30):
if you notice here there's a pattern. Both player Stammer
and White once played for the Alien of Hawks, so
he knew what he was doing. You Petsky scam off, Yes,
scam scam scammer. Now that just makes my blood boil.

(27:51):
You know I just said times you scam me, now don't.
I don't condone balance, but in this situation, I'm ready
to give up to nothing.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Buck.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Okay, you're taking my money, my heart. Are your money millions? There?
We say millions? So the total amount was eight millions
that this man has took from these players, former players,
to just live his best life. Yeah. Oh, when I

(28:27):
tell you sports lovelies, it just makes me ill, It
just makes me sick to my stomach because I do
not like stammers. I do not like liars. And to me,
you know, what you put out there, you're always going
to get back. You may not get it back tomorrow,
you might not get it back next week, you might

(28:49):
not even get it back on my But let me
tell you something, when you do wrong and you put
it out there maliciously, it's gonna come back on you. Buddy.
You best to believe it's coming back on you. You know,
all that money that you spent on a mansion, high
end luxury vehicles, expensive art work, m and it came down.

(29:17):
You know, all that money he swimmed it from both players.
Eight million dollars fraudulent activities. Yeah, jail time for you, buddy,
jail time for you. But most importantly morally, morally, you know,
some people really sleep will being a stammer.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
I never understood that.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I never got it. I truly didn't. But here's the thing,
you know, I don't. I really don't think Gil is
enough for him. But here's the thing, Like I said before,
whatever you put out there, and that's why it's so important,
sports lovely, so listen and listen to me clearly, make
sure you treat people the way you want to be treated.
Make sure that you do not screek in a foul, ugly,

(30:03):
disrespectful way, because guess what, it comes back on you.
Every time I've told you before today, it may not
happen today, it may not happen tomorrow, week, what, it
may be years, But when it happens, your karma, oh buddy,
it's gonna be worse than anyone's karma. It's gonna be
ten times what you put on that person, that stress

(30:26):
and that scam that you did. Because here's the thing,
it looks like Dwright's living his best life contrary to
what he got going on. And I'm not mad at him.
I'm not mad at him. And that's what you're supposed
to do. He's out there on Dancing with the Stars.
I saw you drink getting your dance on, living your
best life, you know, And that's what you're supposed to do.

(30:46):
Because guess what his karma is coming back. So be careful,
sports lovelies, whatever you do, make sure you treat people well,
make sure you do people right, because if you don't,
it will come back on you. That it's my estimate
au gie moment. That's the work. Be sure to check

just moved from London to Legos which is in Nigeria,
and I had a newborn girl and I just wanted

(32:50):
to use the best products on her skin and for me,
what we traditionally use for babies. I knew when I
say we, I mean general consumers all around the world.
I knew weren't necessarily the best products. And here I
am in Nigeria knowing that we have ritual materials, but
I couldn't necessarily find anything that was packaged and you know,

(33:12):
a brand that was enjoyable to use. Of course, set
butter is something that's been around for decades and centuries,
but in its raw form, some people find it difficult
to use. And I just felt that there was an
opportunity there to elevate this ingredient and turn it into
an African owned brand that would you know, transcend generations

(33:35):
and be good for not just babies, but for the
whole family as well. So I think that's where the
inspiration started.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Really, you know what, I'm glad that you touched just
a little bit on that because my next question to
you was going to be can you share about the
ingredients in this product and why they are so very important?

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
So with our range of products, we have about thirty
one products in the range. Mainly you know, you have
variations of different products, so different fragrance and scented options,
but all using one hundred percent natural ingredients. So our
hero ingredient of course is shape, and we have that
in whipped butters, We have it in oils, so pure

(34:17):
liquid shape butter, which people like to call liquid gold.
We have it in balms so like body balmsticks, and
we have it in lotion as well, So that is
definitely our hero products. But we have expanded out to
create cleansers using traditional soap making techniques such as African
black soap, so we do that again that's that usually

(34:40):
comes in a bar form. But as we started to
modernize the brand, we realized that people love to use
a liquid in the shower like a shower gel, so
we started producing liquid black soap, and then we also
have shear soaps as well, So all of these products
use African farmed and nurtured ingredients. And also one of

(35:03):
our other hero products that is doing really well at
the moment is our Baobab oil. So we have this
repair oil which is great for the face and is
made from one hundred percent pure cold press baobab, which,
if you're familiar with the baobab tree is also known
as the tree of life. The fruit that comes from
it is a super food. People use it in cooking

(35:27):
and ease, and it's also just as amazing for your
skin as well. So I've been using that for years
and years and years now and it is doing really well.
People love it. So yeah, those are some of the
key ingredients, so shade, butter in various forms, baobab, and
of course are traditional African black soap.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Now, you know what the beauty industry is like, a
trillion dollar industry, especially when it comes to African Americans
here in the state. Now, how do you expect our
in our skincare to just connect with the US consumers
with the r in our conversation pop us and tell
me a little bit too while you're talking about that,
just the uniqueness of everything and how it's compared to

(36:08):
other skincare products this on the market.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
You know, it's a great honor and pleasure to be
connecting with the US market because we've done little bits
of research and little bits of testing over the years
this brand. I started it fourteen years ago when I
had my first child, and we've mainly been focused on
the continent, which is an amazing market and it's just
so humbling to create a brand, an African brand out

(36:36):
of Africa and coming to the US. We just knew
that you guys are our people because you connect with
the products, instantly connect with the brand, and instantly connect
with our story. And I think one of the unique
things that people love about R and R so far,
the feedback that I'm getting is that the brand is
based out of the continent, So our entire supply chain

(36:58):
is there, tree to the shop shelves. We produce everything
in Ghana.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Of course, the shear treat is actually native to Africa.
You cannot get sheer grown anywhere else in the world,
so it is exclusive and exclusively African ingredient. Then we
have our factories where we process the shear into butter,
create our black soaps, the oils, and then we also

(37:30):
have another factory where it all comes together to become
the R and R that you know, people have grown
to love and respect, and we're hoping that we're going
to get the same experience here, but feedback has already
been amazing, and I think that the opportunity to have
the R in our conversations just takes it to another
level where we can dialogue and speak about our experiences,

(37:51):
shared experiences. People can get to ask questions about why
I started the brand, what keeps me going, what impact
speaking on the continent and elsewhere. So it was just
the really great opportunity to kind of bridge that gap
and have conversations, open, open dialogue with our new audience

(38:15):
about the brand, and they can have full transparency and
fully understand where we're coming from and what we're trying
to achieve here, which is to build a global African brand.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
I love that. I love that, and it's so exciting
because twenty twenty four Atlanta Fashion Week is happening next week,
