Speaker 2 (01:15):
Let me tell you.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
NFL drive uh on fire, Yes, your girls and Florrie
Ranch this week and it was wow, just that wow factor.
I will tell you a little bit about that coming
up shortly. But let me tell you something. We got
a special guess. A special guess is coming up after
the break. But before we get to our special guess, listen,

(01:38):
come here for a second. We need to do a
little bow wow. I just wanted to chat with you guys. Look, listen,
it is so much. This happening so much that if
I even began to tell you what has happened since
we last spoken, I'll.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Tell you what.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
He would be like Giri, let me paid for you
to have a drink. No lives dead ass, because it
has been a insane week. But most importantly, you know,
it's not how you start, it is how you finish right.
And most importantly I will say this to you guys.
You know, no matter what storm comes your way, just

(02:17):
ride it through. You know, I always look at when
storms come, when the rain comes, it's there to make
what growth right. Rain storms, water flowers, growth starts the
growth process begin. So I always take that, as you know,
my metaphor to say, you know what, when I'm going
through some crazy stuff, which has been the last couple

(02:39):
of months, all freaking other week, like what is happening?
Like who parkningt Lot? Did you steal your heary, but no,
I look at it as growth. So what does not
kill you make you stronger. And I'm a firm believer
in that. And listen, whoever's going through some crazy storms,

(03:00):
I'm here with you. We're gonna ride this thing going
out okay and riding it indeed. But most importantly, please guys, remember,
don't forget check us out on iHeartRadio, Spotify and all
streaming platforms. Follow us on the Facebook, the Tata or
the Acts or whatever they're calling it these days, and
hit us up on a gram and let us know
your thoughts on social media. Now, sports, lovelies, I know

(03:23):
what you came here to do, and that is to
do what talk sports. Yes, so guess what I told
you earlier.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Your girls in Flowery.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Branch all day, almost all night, I think, like up
until twelve midnight. Luckily, Luckily, guys, I live very close
to Flowery Branch, so I was not a bit perturbed.
I was feeling it. I was like, my commute home
was amazing. I was like, yes, if only every sports

(03:57):
commute could be like this, fifteen twenty minute.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
It's away, but you know, it is what it is.
I loved it.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
But most importantly, let's talk a little bit about our
Atail Falcons in the twenty twenty five NFL Draft. Of course,
the Falcons have bolstered their defense significantly in the twenty
twenty five NFL Draft, selecting four key defensive players. In
the first round. They pet linebacker Jaylen Walker from Georgia UGA,
first time a UGA player has been selected in the

(04:28):
first round for the Atlanta Falcons. Look historical historical moment
and edge rusher James Pierce Junior from Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Now.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
The Falcons also added safety A Xavier Watts from Notre
Dame and Billy Bowman junior for Oklahoma in third and
fourth round respectfully. Now, in the seventh round they select
the offensive tackle Jack Nelson from Wisconsin. Now the Falcons
are focusing going improving a defense that struggled in cash
rush and of course past coverage in twenty twenty four,

(04:58):
making these players key addition for the upcoming season.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I'm gonnacited about it.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Listen, guys, here's what coach Marky Morris had to say,
and this is also what GM Terry had to say
as well. While we were, you know, in that first round,
epic saga moment you getting back guys can get another impact,
people to players, old pressure players through pressure players to

(05:29):
better russells.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Your sec That's exciting, that's really exciting. And so a
lot of work went into this.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
You know, it was a getting Really I'm just gonna
reader the same things and a lot of great things
we talk about with James, but we definitely have to
increase our rush, definitely, and both of these players for
different players. Yes, yes, as I'm definitely looking forward to
the upcoming season.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
It's going to be amazing. Now. Listen, guys, A lot
of people had a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
To say about chadors Sands. Yes, he went and drafted,
which seemed like it was not going to happen, but
it did finally happen in the fifth round after you
know this epic moments of like is it gonna be drafted?
Is it not going to be drafted? Ow the Cleveland Browns.
They selected Colorado quarterback Shardor Sanders with the one hundred

(06:19):
and forty fourth pick in the fifth round of the
NFL Draft on Saturday, ending a surprising fall where players
once for jackted as of course a first round pick
Nol Sanders, the son of you know that guy. Hall
of Famer Deane Sanders threw for over thirty two hundred
yards last season, but slid due to concerns about durability

(06:41):
and adjustments to the pro game. Now Brown's GM Andrew
Berry called Sanders an extremely talented young man and said
the team was thrilled to land him. Sanders said he's
ready to prove himself, telling reporters it doesn't matter when
you get picked, it matters what you do nets And
of course that sentiment I love and I agree fully.

(07:03):
So congratulations to all the first round picks, fifth round picks, wherever, whoever. Again,
it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Right now,
moving right along too, at Atlanta United at our five stripes. Listen, guys,
Atlanta United, you know they couldn't find a rhythm last

(07:23):
Saturday night at super Park following three and three to
zero too, Philadelphia Union in a match defined by injuries, mischances,
and time we goes from the home site. Look, so
much has happened during that time since we last spoken,
And yeah, a surprise move.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Indeed, I'm not sure if.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
You remember, you know, our guy, I've always said that
I did have quite a few players that I always
kind of look forward to just kind of talking to her,
just getting hearing what their thoughts on just the future
of the team. And look, Shandy silver has been traded. Yes,

(08:11):
I look, I was shocked. I know this team is
making quite a few changes, but yeah, it definitely happened
this week Atlanta United. They received up to two hundred
and fifty thousand in general allocation money from Saint Louis
City City SC and exchange for winger Shandy Silva prior

(08:31):
to the close of the Major League Soccer's primary transfer
window on Wednesday. Atlanta will receive a guarantee one hundred
thousand and twenty twenty five GMA and I'm sorry GAM
and up to one hundred and fifty thousand and twenty
twenty six GAM based on incentives now. As part as

(08:52):
the deal, Atlanta will retain silva Special Discovery tag, while
Saint Louis will retain Silva's full twenty twenty five salary
budget charge. Now again, great memories for Shandy, wishing him
nothing but the best. I see moves on to the
next team. Yeah, Sat, well, it seems to be the

(09:14):
team he will be and wishing him nothing but the Beast.
Hopefully you know again we matches up, we'll see him again.
But most importantly, guys, it is what it is. You know,
the game is the game. But we're always supporting everyone
former you know Atlanta players from AFAR, so again our

(09:34):
Atlanta United team, they are definitely back. We're trying to
get a win, guys, because look, we've been on this
slippery slope with no wins, which has been very very
very devastating, especially for our five Strives who have.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Incurred only nine points on the season.

Have you found yourself at us with the insurance company

trial or your little money, Scott, maximize the value of
your personal injury claim by focus on getting the money
you deserve so you can focus on healing catastrophic personal injury,

(16:24):
Call us today. That's four O four sixty seven one

We're serious about fighting for you. That's four four sixty

Oh no she didn't.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Oh oh Noice, what for didn't? Welcome back and welcome
back to Spurs and Lovely.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
It's my smh.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Og moment is upon us and yes, Sid it goes
to that guy Shannon Sharp. Huh sports the lovelies.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Where can we start?

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Because you know what, I've had this story, you know,
in my mind for a while, right, I just didn't
want to necessarily go there. But it's just it just
keeps getting worse and worse and worse. And if you
don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about Shinn
and Sharp, the Hall of Fame tight End an ESPN personality.

(17:39):
Now he's currently enrolled in a serious legal controversy. Now,
on April twentieth, twenty twenty five, a civil lawsuit was
found in Nevada accusing Sharpperd of sexual assault, battery, and
emotional distress and other plane for as Jane do a llegister,

(17:59):
during nearly two year consensual relationship, Sharp committed multiple instances
of assault, including two incidents in late twenty twenty four
and early twenty twenty five. The loss seats over fifty
million dollars.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
In damage US.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Now, this woman who has been at to invite, as
Jane Dolle in the fifty million dollars civil lawsuit against
Shannon Sharp, apparently was nineteen years old when she met
him in the early twenty twenty three mil. According to
the lawsuit, their relationship begins surely thereafter and continued for
nearly two years. The complaint a legislator Sharp of course

(18:37):
engaged in these multiple instances of sexual saught and battery
during this period. Now, of course, you know Sharp is
fifty six years old. He has denied these allegations, describing
the lawsuit as an attempt at astortion. Legal proceedings are
on going now. Sharp has category categorically denied all of

(19:03):
these allegations, labeling them as false and an attempt at blackmail.
In his response, he has vowed to file a counter
suit for defamation against the plaintiff's attorney, Tony Bitsby, who
is known for representing several women and their sexual misconduct
causes against NFL quarterbacks, especially one who you may know,

(19:26):
Deshaun Watson. Now and missed all of this ongoing legal battle,
Sharp has temporarily stepped down from his duties at ESPN.
The network has stated they are monitoring the situation closely
and we'll take appropriate action as more information becomes avulable.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
And it just keeps going. Guys, we got so much
to unpack here.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
But at the same time, I just want you to
take it all in, take it all in, let me
know your thoughts, because again, this is a lot, and
I try to remain, you know, quite through all of
the this chaos that's been happening, but it just keeps eye.
This week, I really couldn't stop, I could not stop

(20:08):
and let it go by. I had to say, you
know what, This is just the icing on a cake.
This is definitely an estimate MG moment. Now, I just
want you to know, you know, all of these allegations,
these are alleged, right, my thing Gas. You know, I
loved the podcast Club Shasha. I became a fan of it.

(20:30):
You know, I was very impressed how he was able
to kind of you know, switch over from sports to entertainment,
which is you know, very noble, because everyone can't do that.
Everyone is not a great podcast or a host.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
But he seemed to found his niche.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
It's unfortunate, you know, I'm just looking at the age
difference that is quite alarming. And of course Red Flass Now,
of course, you know, eighteen years old is considered an adult,
I believe in some states sensually, so that's not even
the issue.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
But it still what kind.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Of makes you think, right, it makes you think, like,
what is going on? I'm not going to replay everything,
but I know the comedian Monique kind of gave and
you know, forewarning for him to you know, the young ones,
the young girl.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
You might want to leave them alone.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
You might want to just you know, stick with people
your age, but that's neither here or there. These allegations
are very serious. It's unfortunate. I have a lot of questions.
I got a lot of questions. I'm not gonna you know,
unravel and unpack everything because this story is still pending
right we will be talking about this.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
For weeks to come.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
But I definitely wanted to know your thoughts because right
now I am just really speechless. You know, I'm just like, Wow,
if things can't get any worse for Shannon Sharp, it
just did.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
And that is my smh MG moment for the week.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Be sure to check out Chicks into Sports dot com

social media coming after after the rate it's my special guest.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Stay tuned, We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Have you been injured in a car accident or a
slip and fall. Have you found yourself at us with
the insurance company and unsure where to turn for help?
Let personal injury trial lawyer Lamette Scott not surmize the
value of your personal injury claim by focus on getting
the money you deserve so you can focus on healing
catastrophic personal injury primis and personal liability. Serious auto tracking,

(23:04):
commercial vehicle cases call us today.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
That's spoo four.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Sixty seven to one nine one seven two Personal injury
traller your little money, Scott, We're serious about writing for you.
That's for oh for sixty seven one nine one seventeen.

(23:36):
My next guest is a serial entrepreneur, movie producer, motivational speaker,
investor and philanthropists. Sports levelies Please welcome Tell Venetian two
chicks in a sports.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Well.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Tell, thank you so much for joining us. You've had
such a unique journey from engineering.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
And now entrepreneurship too.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Now what filmmaking? What inspired you to step into the
world of directing and how has your background influs your
storytelling style?

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah, I mean, you know, every ten years, I keep
moving into different areas to keep things going, and so
my journey, even though I started in engineering an entrepreneurship,
I've always believed in storytelling right because it's really at
the heart of both areas that I worked before. Whether

(24:28):
you are building a company or making a film. It's
all about understanding people and crafting those impactful narratives, right,
And so my technical background actually brings the structure, process
and discipline in the creative space, and my passion for
people actually drives at the heart of storytelling.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Perfect I love it.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Now you know Trap City. It tells like a powerful
story about a rising wrapper cut in and life.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Altering to live.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
What are you to this particular narrative and what do
you hope viewers can take away from it?

Speaker 3 (25:07):
I mean, you know trap City. In fact, I even
have a podcast that I'm going to start. It's called
mind Trap. And the reason I say that because it's
that's how I felt so personal. So to me, it's
not about music or crime. It's about the choices, the identity,
and the survival in a system that is so much

(25:29):
stacked against you.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Right.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
So I wanted to tell a story where the main
character has so much talent, right, but it's cut in
two opposing worlds, right, one is taking him towards greatness,
the other one is taking him back. So my hope
is that much like the character the Shahn in the movie,

(25:53):
there are so many Deshons out there talented overlook and
they are just one moment, you know, from Transformation is
just one breakaway moment, right, and so so that's what
I want them to walk away and uh, you know,
so that's what I'm drawing in those experiences in my life.

(26:15):
And so so that's why I feel Trapsody is very personal.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Absolutely. Now, Brandon T.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Jackson, he delivers a gripping performance in the lead role.
What was it like working with him? And how did
you get or just go about casting the film's key
players like Clifton Powell, Erica Pinket and of course Atl's own.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Jeez, that is a loaded question. Uh, you know. Obviously
Brandon was electric in fat I'm so glad to cast
him as a lead actor for the very first time
in a feature film. As you know, he was a
comedian before the More importantly, Brandon was also in Detroit, right,

(27:00):
So I know Brandon from being in Detroit and so
so so so Brandon and I started this journey of
this strap city, you know, several years ago, and that's
how I got to Brandon. So so, just as far
as his acting is concerned, he brought rawness, an actual
soul to the character that Shawn in the film, and

(27:21):
obviously our casting was very intentional, so we wanted to
find the actors who could embody the pain and power
of their characters, right. And of course, you know, you
don't have to explain about Clifton Powell, you know so,
and he has so many characters over the years, so
he's quite natural there. And also Erica Pinkett and then

(27:45):
Gezi his his acting was phenomenal, right, and not only
as an actor, but he's also an executive producer and
you know, he did really well with his character Reverend Lelly,
and uh you know it connected with the roles, you know,
model ambiguity, right, so so so that's really you know,

(28:07):
because we all think of GZ as a rapper, but
never really thought that he will be a pastor. Uh
and so and same thing with with with the Brown
as a comedian. Never thought he'll be a rapper.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
So so so so I think in short, uh you know, uh,
they each actor helped ground the film and its reality,
but still giving us the moments of uh, you know,
cinematic elevation if you will.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I love that. I love that.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
I'm super excited about this movie. But you know what.
Starting April twenty nine, Trap City will be available on
prime video at Apple TV through your new partnership with
Film Help. Can you tell us just about that Colabo
and what it means for the film to reach such
a as strong impact for the audiences.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
So the film itself, I mean, obviously, we we we
approached with the with the lens of truth, right and
and and we have the themes you know, loyalty, survival
and systemic pressure our everyday realities, right and but we
didn't want it to glorify our preach, right. We we

(29:20):
just wanted to humanize. And so that's what you saw
in That's what you will see in the film. So
we we we work with the actors and the writers
to to to ensure we are not just hitting the
plot beats, but also creating sort of like an emotional honesty,
if you will. So, so the tension in Rhapsody actually

(29:41):
comes from real choices people face, not just you know,
movie dramatics, right, and and so that's what uh, you know,
fans will walk away and you know, loyalty versus survival,
Which one are you going to choose?

Speaker 1 (30:00):
I love it? I love it now, you know what
I had a quick question, just a bonus question for you,
and just looking at just your resume, Oh, it's amazing.
Would you, because I just want to say this. Typically
we're taught as little boys and girls to go the
traditional right route, right, go to school, become an engineer,

(30:22):
become a doctor, become a lawyer, become a filmmaker. Not
so much. Was it hard transitioning to just doing the
non traditional route or was it something that was always
in you, that passion that you just had to just
pursue it regardless of however or whatever anyone else thought
about it.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Yes, No, Actually that's an excellent question, Akirie. So in
my case, I followed the traditional path, right a person
of Indian descent, you know, being in America, you know,
the systemic clap would be for me to be like
what you just said, doctor, be an engineer, be a lawyer,

(31:06):
be an I T guy maybe on a motel or
Faven eleven or whatever. But doing a filmmaking in America,
that to an urban culture command right, And so so
I have to get myself out of that trap. And
it is a societal trap. And so I got out
of the trap. And uh, and and that's how I

(31:29):
got involved in the trap. City is to break those barriers.
Obviously it's not easy, but you have to break free
to pursue your passion and what you believe in because
we all have one life, and in that one life,
I don't want to be trapped and regret.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
And so therefore, so that's what prompted me to do
more about who is setting those limitations and who is
trapping them? Is it us or is it the society?
Out of our own mind? So in my case, I
made a very deliberate decision not to be trapped in
my own mind and subscribe to what the society of

(32:12):
people around me are telling me. What I can do
or what I cannot do. I may So that was
my take on that.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Absolutely absolutely, I so agree because sometimes, like you said,
you put it together, we can't be trapped. We have
to pursue our dreams.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
I love it. I love it.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Tell but most importantly, tell me what's for the future,
What's next as you pursue your filmmaking career. Are there
more stories in the pipeline that you can speak to
for the underrepresented voices and real world issues like trapp
City does.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, without a doubt, you know,
to me, as the lawsuit quote says, the journey one
thousand miles begins with a single step. So to me,
Trap City is just the beginning. And I believe you know,
film is a tool for visibility, but it's also about

(33:07):
amplifying stories, you know, from the marginalized communities or people
of color. So I'm working on several international collaborations and
narratives that will challenge those stereotypes while at the same
time entertaining audience while at the same time coming out

(33:27):
with some impactful things coming out of the film right.
So to me, it's all about always about exploring, you know,
cultural truths and also me coming from a very different background,
so I can bridge, build bridges and connect cultures, whether

(33:50):
it is Hollywood or Bollywood, whether it is mainstream or urban.
And uh, you know, that's what I have gotten through
all these experiences and I plan them to put them
to work. So that's what's coming up for me as
we start rolling out Trapsody on the vod as well

(34:10):
as on international theatrical releases in India and so forth.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Oh focus, this is amazing, amazing, tell oh my goodness,
I'm so super excited. It is a pleasure speaking with
you today. Now please once again plug in. Where can
we find more information about trap City and of course
the dates that Trap City will drop.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Yeah, the Trap City is dropping on Prime Video and
Apple TV on April twenty ninth, and so you know
you can go to the social media of you know
Kaiba Films, trap City Film as well as you know
the Amazon and Apple and you'll be able to find Trapsody.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Oh my gosh, tell again, thank you so much, and
you definitely have to come back. I would love to
speak to you again about just breaking those barriers and
of course not being trapped in your mindset, especially when
it comes to what you want to do with your
life and your dreams.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Well, one hundred percent accurate. It's a pleasure, is mine,
and look forward to catching up with you and explore
even more broader topics.

is not. But listen, in all fairness, I can say
the same about winning right. I've had some major wins
around my life, which has always been my motivation to
keep pushing forward.
