Can you tell me what's key leadership? Less from that
experience have influenced your approach to just champion and empower
women through the PYLR Foundation.

Yes, thank you. So much of what I do on
a daily basis is what PYLR is all about. Paint
your lips red. Foundation is redefining the way women live
and lead. And this is my blueprint to pass on
to women to help them level up in their business,
in their lives, in school, wherever you are, ladies, you
are a leader. And so there are several lessons that

I've learned in corporate America that I am turning over
to women to help them be better leaders, to be
better women, and just to sustain the leadership of women.
And one thing that I have learned so much about
one thing I always tell women, advocate for yourself. Speak up.
And unfortunately, we as women, we've been raised to you

(18:51):
don't talk about your work, you don't talk about how
successful you are. And I want to encourage women to
think about that differently because my philosophy is it ain't
bragging if you can back it up. So self advocation
using your voice is something that women are not doing
well because they're afraid. The confidence is lacking. But PYLR
is here to help women lead and live differently.

I love that now you know what I know that
you you have just spoke about just patrilips red movement
and just a symbolism with the leadership empowerment. Can you
just talk about just how this initiative complements your corporate
work and philanthropic efforts to inspire women to live up

Yeah, I think good leaders give back. I think my
leadership goes outside the walls of any corporation I work for,
and I would encourage women to think that way as well,
because as you climb, you have to lift. Carmetri is
not going to be here always. So I got to
get the next generation of women girl bosses ready, and
so that is PYLR sisterhood legacy.

I started PYLR for my grandmother. I was my grandmother's caregiver.
She was ill, and after she would take her medicine,
before she would you know, say her prayer, she would say,
give me my red lipstick. And it occurred to me that
her red lipstick was her cape for the day. And
so lady's red lipstick is no longer a fashion statement,

but it's a call to action. I want women to
wear red lipstick of a symbol that I'm fierce, that
I'm fearless, but I'm also feminine. You know, ladies, we
as women, as we crime the corporate latter, our businesses
grow stay feminine. Your feminine power will serve you well
as you go out and negotiate and climb up the
corporate ladder.

Yeah. So, I recently wrote a book that will launch
February twenty sixth, and it is around the premises of
eight lies that stopped Black women from succeeding in life
and business. And I have learned one of the things
that hold women back are those limited beliefs. Let me
define it. Limited beliefs are just things that are not true,

(21:25):
Things that maybe somebody have told you are bigger than that,
things you've told yourself, And those limited beliefs have stopped us.
One of the things that I was told as a
little girl, and if you're Southern, if you grew up
in the South. You may have heard this little girl
should be seen and not heard, should be seen and
not heard. And I believe that. And so I was
always smart. I was well read, well traveled, but I

wasn't speaking up because that limited belief was in my
head as a little girl, I should be seen and
not heard. But all that one day in college when
I raised my hand, that change the trajectory of my life.
I began to speak up. See that limited belief came
from my grandmother, But what she meant was know when
to speak up and know when to shut up. So

we have limited beliefs, ladies, and I want us to
turn those limited beliefs into limitless truths. So think about
all those things that are holding you back. That's just
not true. And so my book will address those limited
beliefs and help women turn those into limitless truths.
