no lies, one hundred facts. I don't know what was
going on. Every day was a long day. I'm like,
did they add an extra day?

Two hour?

and I'm just so super excited that you are here
with us. But you know what, I know what you
came to do, and that is to do what talk sports. Yes,
sports lovelies, let's talk a little bit about our five strikes. Right,
(02:23):
So this week, amongst all other things, I had a
very very busy week, right, it was a lovely Wednesday
hump Day of course, and of course ari Lania United
they pulled off a thrilling three and two come back
when over Orlando City SC at the Bends, now, scoring
twice in a five minutes to snatch all three points.
(02:44):
But they just could not carry this momentum into Saturdays
and match, falling to and Oho to New York Red
Bulls at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Now, listen, guys, listen, Sports Lovelies.
Despite a stronger second half showing and several close chances,
the Five Stripes just couldn't overcome two early goals. Now Atlanta.
(03:06):
They will be entering the June FIFA window with a
chance to regroup before returning to action on June to
twelfth against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium. Our team, we will
have some ups and downs, right roller coaster ride for
our Five Stripes, but we're still rolling for our team.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
We're hoping we can get back.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
In the winning column, winning callum indeed after the break.
But listen, guys, they still have a chance. It's gonna
be a little tough, it's getting a little tricky and sticky,
but again we're rolling for our five strikes unit and
conquer and we are the a yes, indeed.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Now moving right along. I know, you know, our.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Atlantic Gladiators, their season is over, but NHL. You know,
the Stanley Cup is upon us. Now the stage is
set for a thrilling Standing Cup rematch as the Edmonton
Oilers and Florida Panther is still going to prepare to
clash once again. The Oilers punched their ticket to the
final on Thursday night, closing out the Western Conference Final
with the Commanding Sits and there victory over the Dallas
(04:10):
Stars in Game five. Now both teams they're hungry for
redemption and glory. Hockey fans, y'all better be ready because
you can expect some intense battle for the ultimate price,
and that is, of course, the Stanley Cups. Stay tuned
and check out just in the Sports I Cup for
further sports news, where we will be following the Stanley

Cup journey for our NHL team. Okay, yes, yes, yes,
but you know what, guess who else we're following.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Guess what else is.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
He ing up the Twitter twenty five NBA Conference Finals.
Of course they are heating up, guys. And now listen,
forget it to that. I just want to say this team.
Former Atlanta House coach and SuperSonics legendate Matt Millen, he
isn't cheering for Oka. See Thunder to win the NBA Finals.
Now he is focused on something bigger. Now here's Deil.
(05:04):
He got up with TMD Sports at LaaS. Now of course,
you know he's the current Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach.
Now and he said that he has hope for NBA
Commissioner Adam Silver to just do the right thing and
bring the franchise back to Seattle. While Macmillan he acknowledged
okay See's talent, of course, including superstar SGA, his heart
(05:27):
remains with his city that lost its team so long ago,
and he's calling it overdue for a return of the
sun and said, what do you think let us know
your thoughts on social media, because I think that's really
you know, it's not a bad thing.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
You know.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
I know it came off at first like, oh, he's
a hater, he's a player hater. But no, no, no,
or one of our favorite coach and I'll say this,
you know, coach Matt Millan, kudos to coach. Nothing but
love all the way around. We do still have love
for our former coaches of you know that used to
(06:06):
be coaches for the Atlanta Hawks. Again, great guy, amazing,
amazing guy. But at the end of the day, I
think I.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Feel his way. I think I understand where he's going
with that.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
So again, just let us know.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Your thoughts on social media if Seattle is overdue for
a new team, because again, you know times are changing.
We need to get some more teams out there.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Let us know.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
And you know what, Listen, we got to get right
down to the meat and potatoes because I know you've
been waiting.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Now.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Look, the Pacers done punched the ticket to the NBA
Finals with Game six win over the nest Now Pascal
Siakle pour it in thirty one points, while Tyrese Halliburton
added twenty one points and thirteen assists to lead the
Indiana Pacers to a one victory over the New York
Knicks sorry likely wonk wonk wong, But in Game six
(07:03):
on Saturday night, secure in the franchise first NBA Finals birth.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Since two thousand.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Obi Topping shipped in eighteen points instance rebounds against his
former team as the home crowd erupted in celebration during
the final moments. Now Indiana will open the Finals on
the road against.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Oka See on Thursday night.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Among the fans in attendance though at the game on
I was not surprised. I was like, it should have
not been anything. But for game six h the Indiana
Fever players Alijah Boston, Lessie Hall, and of course Ricky's
sensation Caitlin Clark was in the building showing full support
(07:44):
for her Pacers team. Of course, Indiana Fever and Pacers
are you know, big little sister, big brother situation, So
you had nothing beloved. So many celebrities were in the building.
But again I'd had to note that because again you know,
when your teams are winning in your city, you'll be
surprised who and what players come out to support. Now,
(08:10):
history thing, guys, After more than thirty years of an
icon iconic moment laughter, Unfiltered Hoops Commentary's listen, TNT's Inside
the NBA has aired its final episode. But it's not goodbye,
just a new chapter.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
You know we're talking about the beloved crew of Ernie Johnson,
Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaq.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
They're expected to bring.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Their legendary chemistry to a new home at ESPN, continuing
to show legacy on a new stage.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
But you think.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
I saw the clips, I saw the behind. It's kind
of like a tribute to TNT. And it was again
it was kind of you know, pulling out the heartstream
because look, it's a they were you know, their TNT
is based in Atlanta. In Atlanta, and they also reassured
everyone too that ESPN they ain't going nowhere. It's still
(09:06):
going to be you know, aired and were recorded in
Atlanta as well, and once they go over to ESPN network.
But I was just pleasantly, you know, touched by the
tribute because again, you know TNT, you know, Turner broadcasting
such a historic historical.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Figure in our city.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
You know what I mean, just a total one of TBS.
You know, it's the Ted Turner. You know, we were
talking about legacies and being an icon for our city.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
That's what I think about.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
But most importantly, you know, some all good things they
must come to an end, and we're wishing, of course
that crew, Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny and of course
Shaquille O'Neill nothing but success as they go ahead and
transfer over to that big ESPN.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
We'll be watching, so stay out.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Then.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
You know, this playoff run is full of a whole
lot of unfinished business. So you better make sure to
stay tuned and of course check out hits in sports
dot com for further sports news. Now coming up after
the break is my WNBA.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
News, so stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (10:20):

Atlanta Dream pulled off a thrilling ninety four to eighty

kappin off their's first ever undefeated West Coast road trip,
trailing by just seventeen points, Atlanta stomback behind a record
break in second half that featured seven and once a
new WNBA record. Ryan Howard dropped thirty three points, followed

by Alicia gray Poort in a career high twenty eight,
and the Dream improved to a five and two, their
best starts since twenty sixteen. Now next step a showdown
with the Connecticut Sun on June.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Since now this.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Team isn't just dreaming, they're making statements. Let's go dream now.
In other WNBA news, we spoke to you guys last
week about the WNBA lunching investigation and two alleged abuse
towards injuries. Now the WNBA has concluded this investigation. Now
they've announced this on Tuesday that the investigation found no
(12:33):
sustained claims of racist fan behavior during the May twenty
fifth matchup between the Chicago Sky and the Fever in Indianapolis.
The league lunch to probe ninety days prior after reports
surface stuff alleged hateful fan comments directed at Sky angel rees.
While the WNBA did not disclose specific findings, it stated
(12:54):
that the allegation could not be verified. Now the incident
had drawn significant attention amid heightened scrutiny of player interaction
across the league. Now, this is very interesting. It's very
interesting because we know, we know what has been happening
with some of those pesky overly jealous or zealous and
(13:17):
you know, overly excited Fever fans. But you know, here's today.
Sometimes sometimes sports lovelies, it's not always racist, and sometimes
it could be a little, you know, something else different
in the mix. But the WNBA has included their investigation
(13:37):
and they're moving right along to the nets.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
I want to know. I want to know what's your thoughts.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I do have some thoughts of my own, but I'd
rather not share right now. But you know, listen, let
us know your thoughts on social media. It's up on
the Twitter, the ats, the gram, and just let us know.
How do you feel about the WNBA investigation coming to
in with the actual investigating concluding that there was no
(14:04):
racist remarks or comments or abuse towards injuries. Love to
hear what your thoughts are. Now, let's stay on that
same momentum with the Indiana fever Kinglin Clark. She's been
sidelined for two weeks with quad strain. Now she's set
to miss her first career games. Now Clark suffered a
(14:27):
left quat strain. The team announced it some Monday, mark
in the first injury absence of her collegiate or professional career.
Head coach Stephanie Wright told Indy Starr the exact time
that the injury remains unclear. The projected two recovery will
forced Clarks to miss at least four games, including high
profile matchups against the Sun Chicago Sky Now listen, the
(14:49):
number one draft pick apps and creates a major challenge
for the Fever as they faced the Missedics twice May
twenty eighth, and of course going down June third. During
this stretch, Clark had played one hundred and forty five
consecutive official games across Iowa and WA season prior to
this injury.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Well, it's the thing.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
We're wishing her nothing but a speedy recovery, and I'm
pretty sure we'll see Kickling back on the court sooner
than later. Now here's the deal, guys, High States and
higher pay WNBA Commissioner Cups who return Sunday. Now The
fifth Agril WNBA Commissioner's Cup tips off Sunday with four
games that officially launched the twenty twenty five in season
(15:31):
tournament and it.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Raised four or five hundred thousand dollars price pool.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
While the bragging rights are real, so it's the paycheck
players on a minimum contract could walk away with nearly
have their base salary if their team takes home the title.
So Ragining Champs Minnesota Links are back in the midst
but no team has ever repeated as Cup winner since
it's launch in twenty twenty one. Now this is going
to add some crypto flair. Bitcoin is once again offering
(15:58):
five thousand nbt C to every player in the title game,
and it's clear this isn't just for pride. As link
scart Natasha Deman put it best, It's all about the money.
And that is my WNBA news for the week. So
(16:19):

twenty five season.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Well, welcome back, Welcome back to Sports and Lovelies. Our
estimate your own dream moment is upon us and it's
going to influence her and model Mariah Mills, who made
headlines in twenty twenty three out the claiming a flat
but the NBA stars Zion Williamson. Now she has reportedly
contacted high profile attorney Tony Busby and is considering legal options,
(17:56):
according to TMC now Busby he is known for representing
Dishaun Watson and Didy in major cases and has confirmed
he's currently evaluating her claims.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Now.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
This news follows a separate lawsuit file earlier this week
in which a woman identified as Jane Doe has It's
accused the New Orleans Pelican for it of rape, along
with sexual physical emotional and financial abuse over a relationship
that allegedly spanned from her freshman year at Duke in
twenty twenty eight through twenty twenty three. Now, the lawsuit
(18:28):
found in Los Angeles Superior Court details and continuing pattern
of abuse, controlling and threatening behaviors. Now, Mills previously touch
to social media to blast Williamson, claiming they were involved,
just days before he revealed he was suspending a child
with another woman. Now Williamson has denied the allegations.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Calling the latest lawsuit a money wrap. But with Mills.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Potentially entering the legal picture, the.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Off court controversy appears from all over and one thing
get is clear, Zion may need more defense off court
than he does.

(19:56):
community manager behind the Rest Spot, a dedicated willness space
for women in smirn Or, Georgia sports deveas. Please welcome
Cat MacFall too, chicks in the sport.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yet.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Thank you so much, Cat call for just doing Listen.
This is an amazing time to chat with you. You
have a special thing that's going on and listen, you
are unny manager of the respet. I'm so super excited
to talk to you, miss MacFall. Are you ready to
just get right on in?
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yes, let's get in.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
I'm ready so well, Kat listen. I just want to
know what are some of the most common misconceptions women
have about rest and how does the Rest Spot help
them free to find what true rest and self care
mean for there will be sure, So I think there.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about rest, honestly,
like I think the first one is that rest is
easy or that it feels good, and the reality is
there are so many different ways to and I think
most people think about just laying down or just taking
a nap, but there are things like physical rest and
emotional resk where you're doing physical labor like working out
(21:10):
your body, or doing active recovery like athletes do, or
emotional resk, which means that you're actually going through the
process of experiencing your feelings and expressing them as a
form of release so that your body feels better. Those
things are not easy, and sometimes they do not feel good.
I think another misconception about rest is that there's this
(21:31):
idea if I can just get a few more things
off of my plate, if I can take care of
a few things, then then I'll be able to rest.
It's kind of like that grind culture mentality, and when
the reality is it's not about reducing the tasks of
things that.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
We have to do.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
It's really more about reducing the mental load. And I
think here at the rest spot we create a beautiful
environment that fosters the coming down from having to do
all of the things. But we all also are fully
aware and set up in a way that we know
that things that in life does not stop just because
you needed to take a moment to yourself.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Absolutely, and you kind of hit it on my next
question that I'm going to ask you, but just you know,
to go backwards to the Black Enterprise article, right the
rest Spot was created to address a real need for
rest and restoration among women, especially African American women. Now,
what are some of the most profound changes you have
(22:29):
witnessed in members lives since they joined, and how do
those changes reflect the deeper benefit of this space?
Speaker 3 (22:38):
So, I don't you know, I know, you got a
lot of questions for me, So I may tap on
a few of them in this particular answer. But we
have one member that I'm aware of that when they
first started coming to the Rest Spot, they had chronic
panic attacks and they were experiencing high blood pressure. Of course,
(22:59):
they were on the they were doing you know, therapy
and things like that to kind of help manage the
anxiety that was leading to the panic attacks, and they
had a whole bunch of life changes that happened. You know,
as a lot of us probably had some major life
changes happening during that COVID and post COVID era or
like you know, right after the pandemic was.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Quote unquote over.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
But in her coming to the Rest Spot consistently and
allowing us to you know, kind of handle some of
the other things, like taking care of her two kids
because we offer child care on site, and one of
the things that we also do, and it sounds very minor.
(23:42):
I think one of the things that women experience a lot.
When I talked about the meant reducing of tasks, we
don't even think about some of the little things like
cleaning up behind yourself, putting your plate away, putting, you know,
washing your cup when you're done, folding the making up
your bed after you laid down in it, making sure
that everything looks presentable, making sure your kids look presentable.
All of those little things we don't necessarily put on
(24:04):
our task list. They're just innately in there, and we're
always worried about the next thing to do. Well, the
staff here we work really hard to make sure that
if a woman has a cup of coffee or a
tea or a soda or whatever, that if she even
thinks about getting up to put it in a trash,
can we stop them. We take it from really, it's
(24:25):
one last thing you have to do. You came here
to rest, You didn't come here to do work. Okay,
we've cut women like even trying to put their dishes
in the sink and wash them off. Ma'am, what are
you doing?
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Go rest?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
You know, here's a blanket, go mind your business. This
is our business. We will take care of that, you know.
And even our childcare providers are have education experience as well,
so they are teaching the kids as well as taking
care of them and watching them and making sure they
look good and making sure they behave well and taking
(24:58):
them outside making sure. My favorite thing about child care
here is that it is an a separate building from
any of the rest places designed for women, and so
the kids don't get to see their mom until mom
is ready to see her kids.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Oh, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
So it seems like the Rest Spot. It's definitely foster
a true meaning of rest, right absolutely, Oh my gosh,
this is amazing. But you know what I did want
to just go backwards as well, back to Essence magazine
feature the Rest Spots founder. We spoke about just the.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Power of community.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
How does being part of the community just help women
combat loneliness or birthed out or what impact does that
have on just their daily lives as well.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
You know, there's a couple of different ways. First, I'll
say that the Rest Spot we operate like a mini village.
You're gonna see your regulars. We have you know, activities
and events for our members to participate, but we also
we take the time to help. We take the time
to listen, We take the time to help clean up,
We take the time to just witness. And when I
(26:07):
say just witness, some people just want to offload something
that they've been thinking about or what happened during their
day and they just need somebody neutral, unbiased to just listen.
They don't care about a retort or a solution or
anything like that. They just needed to talk about their day.
And we can provide a listening ear or we can
provide the quiet space. We do a weekly social hour
(26:30):
here from five to seven every Thursday for our members
and so yeah, it's like a happy hour experience without
the pressure of a bar, right without the pressure and
the bill because it's a part of the membership. So
they don't have to pay anything to attend, to just
show up. And when they show up, sometimes there's a
group of women chatting in our kitchen area, you know,
that kind of kitchen table experience.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
We've got that going on.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
But sometimes people want to be able to have a
good bite to eat and a nice beverage, but they
don't want to be around people, right, So we've already
removed the pressure of being around the bar, but we've
got these beautiful spaces, whether it's in our green space, outdoors,
on our patio, or even in our rest lounge. And
I've seen members start to kind of like, I see
the shift in their eyes once the room gets too
busy or the conversation gets too loud, and I'm like, hey,
(27:14):
you want to go in here and chill out real quick,
Let's go and I'll grab their plate in their cup
and we'll go into the rest lounge where it's a
bit quieter, and they can still if they want to
interact with somebody, they still have the option, but it's
away from what they what has maybe triggered them, or
that they just didn't want to flat out experience. You know,
everybody wants a different experience, and we can, we can,
we can honor that.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Absolutely. I love this.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
This is so important. But most importantly I wanted to
just ask you about women who may be hesitant to
invest in just themselves and maybe join the rest spot.
What would you say about the long term value and
impact that prioritizing blurry, prioritizing res can have on just
(27:57):
the life, work and of.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Course lationships absolutely. I think the one thing that I
would say is your body and your brain. They want
you to rest, and they want you to wrest so
that they don't have to force you to do it.
And if you know what burnout actually feels like and
how it manifests in your body, which could be a
(28:21):
million different ways. I've got my old burnout story. I
caught pneumonia after working like it's just an endless cycle
of hours some time ago. But even the rest spot
was birth out of our CEO. Jenna's story of burnout.
She was a high functioning, highly gifted, high achieving woman
who worked in corporate America and various startups and she
(28:44):
right around that COVID area all at the same time
was experiencing divorce, becoming a single mom, working this high
power job, and all of these things, and she started
to experience her nervous system basically started to break down
on her. She experienced facial paralysis, anxiety and all the things.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
And one of the things that her.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Doctor prescribed was rest. And so she took the time
to rest for herself figure out what her body. She
took the time to listen to her body to figure
out what it needed to rest, and for her it
was just laying down for the time that she needed,
but for other people it may be a mixture of things. Right,
But when she was able to figure out what her
(29:21):
body needed, she was able to kind of create a
test environment for other women in her friend group to
come and enjoy. So she basically cry and created her
beta tests inside of her own home and gave other
women the opportunity to rest.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
And she would pay.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Attention and observe the habits of the women as they
came in, whether they brought their children or not, and
if it had any because all of us aren't moms,
and things like I'm a plant line anyway, that's beside
the point.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
But she would watch.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
How they moved and how they wanted to like pull
all the sheets off the bed and bring all their
dishes downstairs and all of this stuff and like text
and call and check on the kids. And she realized
that there was this constant reassurance, so that she had
to kind of break these women from of the normal task.
