To the other side.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
You know hockey.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I know my hockey fans are still here. Game five
can be a dagger or a lifeline, right.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
But for the Florida Panthers, they're commanding five and two.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday served as the former,
a statement win that puts them one step away from
poisting the Stanley Cup for the second straight year. Now, listen,
momentum is building. With momentum on their side and history
within reach, all eyes are now turning to Game six
on Tuesdays, going down tomorrow, where heroes could emerge and
(04:47):
legacies could be written. Buckle up, sports, lovelies, because the
Cup isn't skating itself to anyone just yet. It's going down.
Make sure you're watching, of course, then let us know
us who you're rooting for. Is it the Panthers or
is it the Oilers. Hit us up on social media
and let us know your thoughts. Now, you know what
(05:08):
I know. We're in the playoff feeling right, We're in
that playoff vibe. We got the Oilers and the Panthers
going toe to toe. But you know what on the
NBA sign Pacers and OKC. That is correct now they
need paytriosers right. They thrived and have been the underdogs
all postseason, but in Game four, the script flipped. Okay,
(05:34):
see Thunders start back from a double digit deficients to
claim a one hundred and eleven and one oh four win,
evening the NBA Finals two two and two, with the
series shifting back to OKC. Whether Thunders boosts a dominant
forty four and eight record, No SGA and it's quiet
(05:54):
now sit as favorites to seize the title. But if
there's one thing that Pacers have met, it's the fine
the odds. No Ken Terre's hollerburnon deliver another plot twist.
You better stay tuned because the drama just getting good.
Stay locked in it's playoff run. It's full of a
(06:14):
whole lot of unfinished business. And listen, your girl is
here to report all about it.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
So stay tuned. Now coming up after the break. It's
my w NBA.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
News, Stay tuned, will be bad.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Now. Welcome back, Spitts Lovelies, Welcome back.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
It's w a NBA. Yes, Yes, Yes, and listen. Our
Atlanta Dream kept off a dominant weekend with back to
back when starting with Friday Night eighty eight to seventy
victory over the Chicago Sky at Home at eight Wing
Center Arena.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Now listen. Atlanta approved two one with the.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Starting five of Jordan Canada, Alicia Green, Ryan Hard, Brianna
Jones and of course BG the Wind pushed their twenty
twenty five Commissioner's Cup record two two and one with
an additional seven thousand dollars donated to the Center for
Black Women's Wellness. Now after the YA, I was able
to ask coach Smesko about just the chemistry of this
(07:44):
scene because right now we are on fire, and this
is what he had to say.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
I can't speak for any other locker rooms, but we've
been really lucky. Our team really enjoys being around each other.
They have a lot of fun sometimes I have to
you know, hey, we're going to get to work here.
Like they just enjoy being around each other and joking
around and always messing with each other, and it's like,
all right that, you know, you're really lucky when you
(08:11):
have a team that likes each other this much. But
at the same time, sometimes it's just time to get
down to work and get things done. And these practices
that you have are very short, and if you're going
to be making progress, you really have to be locked
into what you're doing. And I've always believed you don't
get better just because you played more games. You get
better because you have a concerted team effort to improve something.
(08:34):
And you know, it's my job to kind of identify
what needs improved and then hopefully they lock in and
whatever it is for that day or two things for
that day that we actually see some progress in those areas.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Now listens for slovelies.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Ryan Howard was on fire, putting up a historic shooting display,
setting franchise record with nine made three pointers, tying for
the first fourth most in a single.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Game in WNBA history.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
She finished with thirty six points, eight rebounds, and four assists,
with also passing Leisia Clareton for fourth on the Dreams
all time assists less Now Brittany Breiner continued to make
history as well, swatting her eight hundred and twenty third
career shot to surpassed Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie, first
second on WNBA all time blockless. Now Breanna Jones added
(09:28):
her sixth double double of the season with thirteen points
and eleven boards, while Alicia Gray and joining Canada combined
for twenty seven points and thirteen assists in the Dream's
most complete offensive showing of the year. Now fast forward
to Sunday afternoon, the Dreams steamrolled the Washington missed its
eighty sis to fifty three at Entertainment in Sports Arena.
(09:50):
It was the Dream's most dominant outing of the twenty
twenty five season and their largest margine victory CIST twenty fourteen.
With the win, Atlanta improved two seven and four overall,
three to one in Commissioner's Cup play, while moving to
thirty and thirty four all time against Washington and fourteen
to twenty on the road.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Now our Girl Ryan Howard.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Extra nam in to record books, becoming the fastest player
in WABA history to reach three hundred career three pointers,
achieving the mouthstone in just one hundred and fourteen games.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
She's also now the second youngest.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
To reach the mark, only three days older than the
legend the icon Dana Tarassi, who was at the time
of her three hundred Make the Dream, will return to
action tomorrow to take on Liberty. Listen, the game will
be at Barclay Center, so make sure you are watcher.
If you're you know, out of town, go ahead and
(10:46):
check out a game because stip off is at seven o'clock.
We will be covering virtually, so stay tuned for further news.
Now switching over to the other side, I know you
guys were concerned and worried and had some thoughts and
work to say about Hatelyn Clark being injured, but she
has now returned, and she returned with the bangyand yes,
who had something to say? The King? Now, if you're
(11:10):
asking who is the king, the one, the only King,
Brian Barne, Now I said I did the Indiana Fever.
They were thrilled to welcome Caitlyn Clark back to the
court on Saturday, and they weren't the only ones. NBA
superstar Laburn James joined in the applause as Clark made
(11:30):
her return from a five y eight absence from a
strained quad. Now the twenty twenty four. Rik the other
year didn't just east back. She exploded for thirty two points,
eight reroounds and nine assists, including it's scoring of seven
for fourteen from deep. Her dazzling performance powered the Fever
passed the previously undefeated New York Liberty one up two
(11:52):
to eighty eight, handing the defending Chaps their first laws
of the season and cracking They're nine wind Street nine
and O nine and oh. Now, of course Lebron had
something to say sports lovelies and untito or the acts
or whatever they're calling it these days. He wrote in
(12:15):
caption the CC Effect, welcome back. You were miss Now
it's safe to say King James. Yeah, King James was
just one a meeting who witnessed Kington Clark Effect in
full force, reminding everyone she's just not bad. She's back
on top. Okay, now listen, guess who else is back
(12:38):
on top? Spirts, lovelies, I'm talking about big brother, Little Sister.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Look, NBA WNBA there is standing.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Their partnership with two k big moves for the virtual
hoops were all right. So on Friday, the NBA and
WNBA announced a major extension of their partnership with two K,
the powerhouse behind the popular NBA two K that as
video game series. The deal includes the creation of NBA
Take two Media, signally even deeper collaborations between the leagues
(13:09):
and the gaming giant. Now NBA two K has engaged
a new generation of basketball fans in a increasingly digitally world,
said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. By expending our partnership, we
look forward to building on this incredible success of the
NBA two K franchise. Now, of course, the w NBA
(13:30):
twas an even bigger presence in the game mov before,
promising deeper storytelling, enhanced game modes, and new ways to
connect with fans globally.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Translation please yes, more representation.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
More realism and more reason for who has everywhere to press?
Speaker 2 (13:47):

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Okay, now listen to words lovely. This is my WNBA

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Oh no she didn't. Oh oh no, this on for jads.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Okay, okay, spit to ath least, welcome back and my
smh OMG moment is upon us.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
No, you know this is going to enjoy Howard and
Lance Stevenson.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
I mean, I don't know if you saw it on Twitter,
the Acts or whatever they're calling the Facebook, wherever you
saw this, but it's gone viral because Dhight and Lance
longer waited b Big three debut, it turned into a
full court mess hot mess that is, instead of a
highlight real moment, we had Pauls being handed okay or
(15:45):
should I say you landed now doing Saturday's clash between
the Los Angeles Riot and Miami three five, a routine.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Scuffle quickly escalating.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
When Howard stormcourt sided shoved Stevenson, triggering a while brawl
that literally spilled into that crowd.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Bill Stevenson responded.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
By tackling our w W easttal As fans scattered like
they were dodging bullets. Security jumped in and just like that,
two former NBA teammates turned Big Big Three rookies. We're
training for all the wrong reasons. Yeah, don't let this
(16:28):
be a reminder. You're gonna take the players out the NBA,
but you can't take the drama out the players. Moral
of the story that time you hear Big Three debut,
don't assume it's just about basketball, just maybe about you
coming in with ringside seats.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
And that is my smh o G moment.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Further me, be sure to check out Chasing the Swarts

(17:12):
Stay tuned, will be bad. My next guest is the
dynamic CEO of the Granada Tourism Authority, a true eco
warrior with a passion for travel tourism and using her
platform to reduce prejudice while building global tolerance and appreciation
(17:37):
sports levelies.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Please welcome Patrick Griffin, Roach too. Chicks in a Sport
now welcome. Welcome to Ticks in the Sports.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
I wanted to ask you what is the strategic factor's
influenced the collaboration between the grenade As tourism authorities and
of course Delta Airlines to just establish this direct route.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Well, we are first of all so appreciative to Delta
for having the confidence in Grenada to you know, launch
this new route which commences on December the twentieth. It's
going to be daily service from December the twentieth three
to January the fourth, and then they're going to be
running the service five times per week through to April
(18:23):
the fifth, and then from April fifth to twelfth, which
is the end of the winter service, they'll go back
to daily.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
So Land is a very strategic destination for us.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
You know, we were previously the beneficiary of a direct
service and that unfortunately stopped.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
We had COVID and obviously the.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Implications of you know, just changes to the world and
the world order. You know, it's an airport where you've
got over a thousand different flight today, You've got two
hundred and twenty five regional and international destinations coming through
(19:06):
that airport as a hub. So for Grenada it actually
opens up a massive number of destinations as well. We
are a tourism destination that is really considered a place
for rejuvenation, re energization, if that's a word.
Speaker 7 (19:27):
Realizing, you know, a place that you can really come
and relax into yourself.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
And whether or not it's that you're looking for a
luxury destination, whether you're looking for somewhere where you can
engage in wellness, you want culinary it really is a
place that offers a wonderful respite from the hectic of
every day. So that Atlantic Gateway with six million people locally,
(19:58):
a lot of them are from the African American you
know communities. We just had The Real Housewives of Atlanta
come to Grenada and we're actually featured in three episodes.
Speaker 6 (20:15):
There is just a strong Grenadian diaspora as well.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
And ultimately, when we look at the data, the demand
and that diaspora. We knew that it was a hub
that would bring us really strong benefits. So that's southeastern
US particularly, really is a big opportunity for us to
(20:40):
attract the affluent and well traveled African American population.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
They're in the Georgia area, and as I said.
Speaker 5 (20:49):
A lot of them are actually interested in cultural and
wellness travel, and we definitely are the place where you
can come and have that experience.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Oh my god, this is so exciting.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Of course I did see the Housewives, and I did see.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Grenada, but did you not see me?
Speaker 6 (21:07):
I did a cameo on it as well.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
What, Oh my god, I am going to have to
go back and rewatch this. This this is so exciting, Patrick. Look,
I need a vacation. I am imagining myself in Grenada
right now.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
Okay, can I tell you as well, because obviously what
I didn't add, but which I should add, because the
presumption is that everyone knows. But Grenada, we have a
beach which is three miles long, called the Granddad's Beach,
and it has been consistently voted as one of the
(21:44):
top beaches.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
In the world.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
So you know that as your water, that wonderful white,
pink sand. You know, it's they're waiting on you. And
we actually are a tri island state, so you're not
only getting Grenada, which is the main thing, but you're
also getting Characo and Petite Martinique. And again it is
(22:08):
one of the safest places that you can come.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
It's got such.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
A welcoming people. People come and they fall in love.
They say that they find their soul here and I
feel that certainly as a people, we've recognized the importance
of tourism. We've been very responsible in building it out
so that there are the really intentional linkages with agriculture,
(22:33):
for example, which is obviously a lot of West Indian countries.
Their economies were built on the agricultural industry and we've
continued to lean into that because that whole farm to table.
Speaker 6 (22:49):
You know, Ethos, we really live it and breathe it.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
So normally when people talk about flying in Cavea from
the Caspian Sea, we're saying, oh, that potato that's on
your plate that was picked this morning.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
You know that lobster that's.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
On your plate that was actually dived for this morning.
So everything is about fresh produce that is responsibly sourced
from our local communities, so everyone feels the benefit of
the tourism industry.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Oh my gosh, this is so amazing. But you know
what I wanted to ask you just about the marketing
piece and what collaboratory marketing initiatives are just kind of
planned between the Grenade and tourism authority in Delta Airline
just to promote this new route as well.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
So we know that this is a very digital world
and ultimately that is where we're going to have all
major focus, you know, getting into understanding the personas of
the typical customer that is a Delta customer, which is
aligned with Grenadas. So we're going to be doing a
(23:59):
lot in terms of that digital footprint. Social media is
extremely important with us. You know, again I said, Grenada
is not just about sunsendency. It really is about a
life changing experience, and therefore we're going to be using
the media to share the story of what that experiences
(24:20):
and how we're differentiated from other places in the world.
We also are going to be doing some out of
home so again you know, making sure that we raise
the awareness first of all that there is a direct
NonStop service from Atlanta into Grenada, because a lot of
people are looking for that convenient, so you know it's
(24:43):
going to be.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
A very multi pronged approach.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
But again, we really want people who have been too
Grenadia to be our spokespersons, to share the messages with
their friends and family and really be the unsung heroes
and advocates for what this fantastic vacation proposition is.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Now with the launch event is happy at rock Steady
Atlantaline June tenth, when can Atin is expected, how does
this a bit reflect Grenadian culture?
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Ooh, we want to keep that a big secret, but
I want you to know that the music is going
to be that. We've got some of the most amazing
rum in the world, so you're going to be able
to taste some of those RUMs. We have just actually
launched our own cocktail which is called Spice Island Rock,
(25:38):
so patrons can actually taste.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
That as well.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
We've got some amazing Grenadian food. We've got some Grenadian flowers.
We've just won Chelsea Flower Show, which is a very prestigious,
you know, floral show in the UK, and we've won
that on several occasions. We're going to also be bringing
some of the flora and fauna and most importantly, we've
(26:05):
got a collective or a collection of Grenadian people who
are going to be there to tell the story of
life in their country and really bring home that warm
and welcoming invitation to visit our shores.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Yes, now, looking ahead PATCHA, how does the Granada Tourism
Authority plan to leverage this increased connectivity to further develop
tourism our is it infrastructures?
Speaker 6 (26:38):
You know, whenever we.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
Invest in a new route, it's not just about leisure
as well, it's also about looking for opportunities for partnership
in the area of trade, in part in the area
of technology. In terms of people development, that's one of
our priorities in terms of our transformational agenda. How can
(26:59):
we work with schools and colleges who have gold standards
so that we can expose our people to that as well,
so that connectivity with more house etc. Is going to
also help us in those areas. You know, Medical tourism
(27:20):
and improvements in the healthcare system is also very big
on the agenda, So we really want to look at
gold standards within the Atlanta area and also forge really
strategic partnerships as that well. And ultimately it really is
about continuing to invest in product development, whether that's culinary,
(27:42):
whether that's wellness, whether it's training for the hospitality professional.
So we're going to be looking for opportunities to partner
with companies within that Georgia belt who are interested in,
you know, strong collaborations as well.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
So we're continuing to really align with.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
Brand who support our overarching ethos. So you're talking about pure,
we're talking about authentic, we're talking about transformational travels.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
So really really exciting opportunity.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
So anyone who is out there in the Atlanta area
who you know they're interested in collaboration with us, They're
interested in partnerships, and they're interested in really giving to
philosophical and philanthropic projects that you know, they feel that
(28:42):
we can assist with. Please please reach out to the
related Tourism Authority and we are open to suggestions and
looking at ways in which we can positively collaborate.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Now please plug in the website so that the listeners
can definitely.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Reach out to you as well.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
So the website is pure Grenada dot com. But we
are also very active on Instagram and Facebook as well
as sorry just Instagram because our Facebook has been hacked,
so peez, let me retrack. So if they're interested in
reaching out, certainly, it's the website Puregrenada dot com or
(29:23):
